9.30pm.-1.30am only online order pickup order (No dine in)
Don’t recommend it. I have ordered Boat Soup with beef. Meatballs taste like they’re made of soy meat or not meat at all. The actual beef meat has SUPER weird taste and texture. I feel like it was frozen and then melted multiple times. I took it out hoping if I mix it with some sauce it’ll be better, but no.
The waiter/cashier is also weird. She asked me if everything is okay and I told her about the meat issue. Then I thought someone might come over to my table and talk about it. Nope. She just went back to the kitchen. Nice 👍
Go somewhere else. A lot of options are available around.
This place runs 3 or 4 restaurants on Ubereats out of 1 kitchen, but it DOES NOT PREPARE WHAT YOU ORDER, OUTSIDE OF THE STANDARD "Thai Pastry" restaunt menu. I ordered from the "THAI THAI THAI" restaurant menu, and my KABOOM! PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE (even says it on the receipt!) was supposed to come with 6 ingredients and it only came with 3. It was missing cashews, carrots, and peas. When i called the restaurant, the OWNER argued that even though he understands there's 3 different restaurants, and i ordered from a specifc one, they only make the dish 1 way, not 3 different ways. He doesn't offer to re-deliver, or refund any portion of the meal. He closes with "is that all you need?"
Hope you like what you order, cuz this place doesn't care if you don't!
Food was good and close to flavors that I remeber from Thailand. Qe had Thai fried rice (forgot the #) along with #10 Boat Noodle and #12 Yen Tah Foh. Flavor is neutral or you can ask for it to not be too spicy if you like it mild. We like ours with some added condiments. The food was served In a big enough bowl and the portions were good. Plenty of Thai dessert choices and preserved fruits and even an ice cream selection but not Thai style. We ordered the macaroons today for dessert and was not dissapointed! Mango and sticky rice when it's in season is also a good choice!
This was my first time having Thai food and no regrets at all! The place is spacious and so clean you could eat off the floor! The staff is absolutely wonderful and very hospitable. The food is really good, good prices, and definitely shareable! I recommend the seafood soup it is so hearty and if you are a spicy food lover, this is your dish!
Traditional Thai homestyle cooking for dine in or take out! Reasonable prices and generous portions. Clean, well-maintained, family run & doesn’t cater to gimmicks.
This pad thai is the best I've ever had! Chewy noodles, the sauce a mixture of sour, sweet and savory, and fresh vegetables. I've never been to Thailand but I feel like this is what authentic pad thai tastes. The place is clean and beautiful inside.
My wife and I are from Asian background. And we felt that we were treated differently by the waitress compared to other tables with people from European descend. Everyone should be treated better, fairly, and equally.
Topping that, the waitress was extremely rude to us, the food was very expensive and not of good quality (it was a rip off!), and the mango-sticky-rice dessert I ordered was drenched in condensed milk (it felt like eating syrup).
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Thank you.
Great new place. Food tastes authentic at a reasonable price.
Do not order from this restaurant. It will show on Google and on their website that they are open.
The website will let you order online. Then...
when you go to the restaurant... they're closed. Beyond inconsiderate. Totally unacceptable and rude to waste customers time. I will never order from this place again. I suggest you do the same. Order from somewhere else.

Great food and service. My favorite Thai place in the area. A plus that's been around for years. Just a few months at new location

Gets the job done

We ordered fried tofu dish, and they served us 8 very small pieces of fried, bland tofu, served with sweet chilli sauce on the side. The dish was $8.95—it was a complete rip off.
The waitress was very indifferent and sometimes very rude.
We ordered a dessert: sticky rice with mango. And it was poured with condensed milk all over, barely leaving any taste of the sticky rice or mango. Generally, the dish is served with coconut milk not condensed milk.
I’d not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I paid $7 for a cup of Thai ice coffee to go and it’s the worst one i had so far. It’s extremely sweet, they put half and half instead of condensed milk, and the flavor is just wrong. Had to throw away after only few sip

Nice ambiance, good food and service.
I ate dinner here on a weekday evening. It was a random find. The floral decorations throughout were so pretty! The setup throughout the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. The menu was diverse and reasonably priced. The food and service were also good. Give it a try :)

They lady at the front was very rude when we said we had a couple of cents
We are so disappointed with this restaurant. There's many choices on argyle but we've been wanting to try this place. .. 1st they hours on Google says it open till 130am. Turns out it closes at 930pm. The server rush us the whole experience. She said we must order by 910. We ordered by 8:54. She forgot our crab Rangoons. I ordered the pineapple fried rice. So she mested up those two items.. I have to ask her for symbol and chilli. The other customers looked like they were having a good time. We still tipped 30% but we won't return. Maybe it was because I'm African American and my wife is Mexican American. We believe in protesting with our wallets. This mean we will take our money somewhere else. We will not recommend thai pastry to our friends
I regret to say that my experience at this restaurant was far from satisfactory. The staff exhibited a level of rudeness that is unacceptable in the service industry. It raises the question of why they choose to be in this profession if they cannot provide adequate customer service. Additionally, the Pad Thai was disappointing, mainly consisting of fillers with hardly any noodles. This, combined with the subpar customer service, has led me to decide not to order from this restaurant again.
Tasty food, attentive service and a pleasant room with lots of stuff to look at. I was there for lunch and got one of their lunch specials, the pad prik, with lots of peppers, onions and a mild spiciness. Reasonable price. You get an egg roll with the lunch special. I plan to go back.
Very high quality Thai food. I did pick up, not delivery
New dining room and new location nice
Smallest portions I’ve ever had at a Asian restaurant. It’s tasty tho but not worth $13 for what I had. More like $8 worth of food
This place never misses! Every dish my friends or I have ordered here over the past three years has been delicious. They have a wide variety of foods, from savory dinner foods to incredible desserts.
There’s ample seating, even in the new location, and the people working are very kind. And -I can’t stress this enough- the food is incredible!!!
The food was great! Make sure to get the baby egg rolls. The pineapple fried rice was a big enough portion to share with at least 2 people. We had the chicken satay at argyle nights over the summer. Tried them again they were just as tasty!
Ordered delivery from here and it was AMAZING. I ordered the Penang Curry and the Kee Mao. Asked for Thai spicy and they delivered! Great amount of spice and flavor!
Will definitely continue to order from them
Yikes. I got the orange chicken, wonton soup, and baby egg rolls. The baby egg rolls were great, get those if you go here.
Unfortunately the wanton soup was flavorless and reeked of burnt garlic. And the orange chicken was like some microwaved frozen chicken swimming in a clear soupy mess.
But, like I said, the baby egg rolls were very good so I bet there’s a lot of very good items on the menu. But please avoid the wonton soup and the orange chicken.
I wish i could give this restuarnt zero stars. They are extemely rude and horrible customer service. Why even bother be in the service industry if all you have is a bad attitude?!!
Never ordering from here again
awsome Tom Ka soup. great friendly staff. good prices and good portion size.
No manners and careless people
Nice find.
Wonderful carry-out experience! The order was ready on time, positive interaction with the staff/chef, and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS! The entree flavors were fresh and inviting while also very well seasoned. The mango sticky rice as dessert was fantastic. The mango was perfectly ripe and the sticky rice was one of the best I've had in Chicago. This is a great addition to the Argyle corridor and look forward to ordering from here again!
This was my first time having Thai food and no regrets at all! The place is spacious and so clean you could eat off the floor! The staff is absolutely wonderful and very hospitable. No stars should be given to this restaurant. The waitresses was rude and racist they do not inform the customers properly always missing items wrong items issued they should just hang up the towel these people hate to be in the customer service business. The rice was hard and disgusting. The worst part the pastries were stale. Absolutely nasty I would never pay a dime ever again.
Solid spot for Thai takeout. Love their curries in particular.
Got 3 pad thai to go. All 3 of them was dry. The noodles didn't want to separate. Would definitely not recommend this place.
I love their food. So delicious and friendly wait staff
If you are not willing to have customers just close it down! order one and got other
very disappointed in pricing and portions. some ingredients were inauthentic such as the broccoli (they use american vs Chinese broccoli which changes the flavor of dishes DRAMATICALLY). The pad prik combo was so small and had one shrimp in it. Flavors ranged from decent to nonexistent.
we spent over $70 and ended up having to make rice and more side dishes at home due to the small portions, (we were a group of 4).
Hands down the best Thai food in Chicago. Love the owner and the atmosphere. 10/10 I recommend the chicken panang curry, and the Thai iced tea. My son’s favorite is the chicken fried rice (can’t go wrong with that dish but I swear theirs is the best we’ve ever had)
Great food, excellent service, great prices. Come here for the lunch special, you get a soup, a small appetizer, main course and small dessert.
Service is actually the worst. She didn't want to talk to us or look at us. She was also oddly in a hurry but it was empty. Maybe it's because we're Thai? Who knows.
The food is amazing. Had "Basil on Rice" with beef and it was wonderful.
Update: they have remodeled and it feels more relaxed and warm.
Everything was okay but pretty bland. The boba however, was the worst I've ever had. It was too hard in the middle to even bite through, it was all in a big clump at the bottom, and the few separated pieces were too large to even fit through the straw.
If you can avoid this place I would, very unsanitary and poor customer service. Don't waste your money here.
We don't live in the neighborhood but have been going here for probably 20 years.
I went into the resaurant for a pick up/to go order from a third party app. They had no clue what the order was.
Very bad customer service…. Rather go use your money somewhere else and support other stores. The cashier give attitude and discriminate against her own race.
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! If I was able to give no star I would, this store have bad customer service, no patience, racist against their own race, I bought a lot of their desserts and the server/cashier got no patience and was giving me attitude. Also ordered food to eat and sat down at the table, but they packed it. I went and told her that we didn’t order to go and she said we said “to go” but I said no we didn’t, and she give me attitude and a big “ughh” sigh, said a word in her language while turning and walking away. Afterward, they came back with our food, but didn’t even bother to come and ask if we need anything else while we were there or give us any water. Usually every restaurant give water to their customers but they didn’t give us any. As a matter of facts, there were another group of people sitting right next to us, Americans, they came after us, they were served nicely, given water and were asked throughout their time there if they needed anything and was constantly served water. This restaurant need to educated/train their staffs better. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT, YOU’LL GET BETTER FOOD, BETTER SERVICE, AND WON’T EXPERIENCE ANY DISCRIMINATION!!! FIRST AND LAST TIME IN THIS RESTAURANT, WOULDN’T GO THERE IN THE FUTURE!!!
Delicious pastries, delicious curry, and friendly staff. The inside decoration is beautiful as well with a comfortable dining environment.
The food was amazing and so was the customer service! I ordered the chicken satay and Thai-Viet rolls along with the Thai taro custard and mango and sticky rice for a work event. They were a hit! The owners are so kind. I will definitely be ordering from them again!
Stop here for dinner due to a plan change at the last minute. The beef boat noodle tastes like it was made from a pre-mix powder. The good dishes are the fried rice (pineapple) and 2 basil dishes (ordered by mistake). The customer service is excellent as she keeps her cool with a difficult customer a table over.
My favorite Thai in Chicago
Long time favorite Thai joint in Uptown. They have one of the best green curry around along with many other traditional Thai entrees. I particularly appreciate that they have good seafood items, which rotate on their specials. They also have pastries and ice cream made by local creamery from Niles. While dining in is a perfectly fine experience, I especially love this place as takeout joint. Always reliable and quick.
Panag Chicken was very good. Easy to order and quick service
Ate here for the first time a week ago. The food is amazing! The staff will have me coming back. I left my purse in the resturant when we left. I called them and they waited for me to come back and get it. All my cash was still there. God bless you! There food is so fresh. I'm going back soon.
Love the Tiger Cry and Pork Larb
We ordered papaya salad and curry noodle dish. Both were delicious except when I asked the waitress if she can make my salad spicy, she was not too pleased. We will go back for the food, enjoyed
Chicken satay was greasy
Chicken pad Thai was clumpy and greasy
We've been going to Thai Pastry for18 years during which ownership has changed many times but we continued to enjoy it.
Today I asked if a dish could be Gluten free. The server said yes. After lunch I had a reaction so I called and asked if they had gluten free options. The same server told me No. I was not happy that she lied to me. She had her boss call me and tell me they did have Gluten free soy sauce and my meal was prepared with such. They lied sandthey couldn't keep up with it the lies.
I ordered from GrubHub which advised me this restaurant handles their own delivery. After it was 45 mins late, I tried to reach out to the restaurant who turned off their phones. Grubhub also reached out and could not get ahold of them and wound up canceling my order after. It was a 2 hour ordeal with no food :(
This was our first time here as we were in from out of town. The waiter at a jazz club down the street (The Green Mill - I highly recommend) recommended Thai Pastry for dinner before the band. It was a strip-mall kind of restaurant so you can picture the inside fairly easily. Nothing to jump up and down about regarding the ambiance but who cares? We had the Thai basil rice dish with chicken, Larb salad with chicken and satay skewers. Everything was wonderful! I don't know how comparable the pricing is there compared to other local eateries as it's right after covid and the world is kind of chaotic but in this crazy world we are in, the prices were in line with what appears to be the "going rate" for decent Thai food. On the last day of our trip I wanted to hop back on the red line and take the subway up there just to grab some more thai food to take home... maybe next time.
Absolutely the worst Thai we have ever had, in Chicago and Thailand. My husband is Thai so we eat out often. My Garlic beef which was probably about an once of dry beef served over about 2 cups of rice, with a trace of bland juice. Pla's larb portion was quite a bit smaller than most appetizers and quite mediocre. To be honest I am in disbelief so much in fact I had the delivery service give us a refund. The true kicker is the food is quite pricey.
Everything on the menu slaps
Workers are not vey nice. They did not seem to care about customers. Not very helpful. I would not recommend that place.
Great experience, communication and service. thank you
Panang Curry very tasty, and the best Sticky Rice
So far the best Thai i have found in Chicago. Friendly staff and if you want it be spicy, prepare to sweat from your eyebrows.
Hit or miss type of place. I ordered here from Doordash a month ago and had a delicious meal, got the pad Thai and the egg rolls. Today I decided to go on person to order since I'm trying to support local restaurants. I got the pad Thai again, Kao Soi - asked to replace the chicken for beef and paid extra $2 for substitution, and a Thai vet shrimp roll. The Thai did not have any flavor and there was way less vegetables than the last time. The Kao Soi came with chicken even after I've paid $2 more and it was not good (watery curry, no season, and the noodle taste like instant noodles), and even the Thai roll was not good (we could barely taste any shrimp!) I'm not sure what happened tonight - maybe they changed the chef, but I like to have consistency when ordering food! Also it's not cheap ($50 for an appetizer and 2 dishes which is a lot for a Thai restaurant in Chicago). Not planning in come back at this place and wouldn't recommend...
Delicious but expensive. Small portions
Ordered some panang curry with tofu a few days ago and it was absolutely delicious. Came with a perfect amount of food and plenty of veggies and tofu in it.
Consistently delicious variety of Thai cuisine.
My first time ordering from here and I will be ordering again. Best Beef Pad Thai I’ve had in a while, and they give you so much! Had the cucumber salad as well, tasted great and also the portion the give you is enough for 2 people. Very satisfied with this place !
As a restauranteur for 35 years I don’t appreciate to be yelled at by the restaurant owner because I asked for bamboo shoots only in my green Curry. That’s the way I like it and am more then willing to pay for it.
We all work Extremely hard in this industry and it’s a 24/7 business. I have always catered to what ever my customers needed and will continue to do so. If you can’t take the heat get out off the business. Your food is excellent although i believe it’s the last time i ever order from your establishment again.
Don’t dictate to you customers, unless they are unreasonable.
Fantastic..
I came with a friend to Thai Pastry and the lunch menu is $8.50 for soup, small appetizer and a small entree. There are about 18 entrees to choose from rice or noodles with beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu. Shrimp is $1.50 extra and it is frozen not fresh. I ordered the panang curry and it was great. The basil chicken was so so. For dessert we ordered pág is like a flan in texture and color. It was very good served warm. Service is average but it balances with the awesome price. Decoration is with plastic flowers and gold bird cages. One strong advise bring cash and your life will be easier at Thai Pastry. Take a Pastry home with cash only.
I've tried a ton of thai restaurants in the Uptown, Ravenswood, Lakeview, and Lincoln Square neighborhoods (not to mention a pretty robust tour of most Evanston thai restaurants) and this is far and away the best choice. Great prices, friendly staff, quiet, unassuming.
On the outside, it doesnt have the flash or kitsch that a lot of the Asia on Argyle restaurants have. However, it is one of the best restaurants on the strip food-wise. Really fresh ingredients and great levels of spice. Can not recommend enough.
Pro tip: they have a really reasonable lunch special.
Horrible service- extremely rude, way overpriced for below average food, decor is anxiety inducing. Overall bad experience.
First of all, I am from Thailand. I am seeking for only the authentic Thai food in USA. I have been trying many Thai restaurants in Chicago and most of them can cook the simple Thai dishes and it tastes pretty good but to make a complicated dishes such as the southern Thai food is rarely to find one on the menu of the Thai restaurant. Today I had ordered “The Boat noodle soup “aka- Thai Pho” it was Wow!! moreover than that there was a Dry Chili powder (looks alike a cayenne peppers) as an option on the side for who loves real Thai spicy. This chili has made in house by owner. Lastly, I have to thanks for the humbleness of the thai owner who came checking the foods and services and brought us a Mango with the sweet sticky rice which his chef made on the house.
I was really surprised with all these outcomes and great experiences. I walked passing by this place a million times and never cared to check it out because of I judged the book by the cover😕
I didn’t wait to order some more back home for my husband to try them including the dessert that I just tried. Recommend to try this real Thai food!
ขอบคุณนะค่ะวันนี้ที่ต้อนรับอย่างดี
Whenever I come to Chicago the first (and most frequent) place I go is Thai Pastry. They have delicious, simple soups that are so grounding and warming and delicious after traveling. It’s a pretty quiet spot and they’re super lovely and helpful. I haven’t tried anything but their soups (try the ground chicken with glass noodle soup!), but I highly recommend it.
Great lunch specials Love this little hidden treasure
Great authentic thai food with reasonable price. Thai duck curry, nam tok beef salad is the bomb..
Great food, portions are decent.
Important to note that pastry and ice cream purchases are *cash only*. Lovely Thai custard and one of the few places to find red bean ice cream. Great, fast service.
Incredibly kind staff. Excellent food!
There are only a handful of places in this area that are as treasured as this. The atmosphere is peaceful Zen. Highly recommended.
The dishes were too small. Had to order two entrees just for myself to feel satisfied. It is really too bad! This used to be one of my favorite places for Thai food.
Ordered coconut pineapple smoothies.. WORST smoothies ever! Couldn't even finish a third of it. They have this extremely weird aftertaste but then also has a ton of sugar that I honestly felt like I'd get a diabetic shock if I did finish it. So if that wasn't enough, they are expensive as hell at $6.95. I am normally not stingy but when it tastes horrible and it's expensive - that will have me not returning.
I ordered more than $60 delivery. Apparently the entrees don't come with rice. That is an extra charge. Extremely overpriced for not a lot of food. When I called to ask about the rice they were rude, and then they called me back to tell me the exact same thing they told me in the first call. Huge waste of money. Very disappointing. And why would a curry just come with meat and sauce and NO RICE? Awful experience.
My top choice for quality Thai food in Chicago! Excellent curries.
Great vegan options
Very nice place and good Thai restaurants
Delicious
My favorite Thai Place in Chicago. Been eating here for about 10 years, at least. The best crab rangoon in the city. Puffy pillows of crab, water chestnuts and cream cheese with crispy edges and lots of flavor.
Great lunch specials and it's BYOB.
My first time visiting this restaurant Found the food to be a very good quality. But some items seem to be a little overpriced for what they give you.
Always great service, good food and price.
The food is delicious. I have been coming for years and never disappointed.
Authentic dishes from Thailand I rarely see and the food was Delicious!
Super friendly crew, the lunch special includes soup, appetizer, and dessert! The food is decent and I'd love to check other menu items.
Don't get any of the fried menu items. The wantons were completely empty, just fried dough. I paid $30 for a meal that by the end of it wished I never ordered.
I've been to Thai restaurants all over the city and Thai Pastry is by far my favorite place. Every dish I've had has been great!
Terrific little restaurant that turns out some of the best curries. Also great spring rolls.
Used to love this place, but food quality is uneven. The fish dishes do not taste fresh. Lemon chicken still great, however.
Very good, very friendly. They have traditional dishes and will actually make them spicy!
My husband and I go here often and their pick-up service is fast. The pineapple fried-rice is one of our favorites.
I've loved and enjoyed every meal. Worth the 90 minute trip from Kankakee!
Good food, but be aware of minimum for credit card payments.
Decent food, funky interior.
The food was very good. The owners were very nice and appreciate my attempt at the Thai language. Most importantly is that the food was good and reasonably priced. The had some pasteries as well. The looked good, but I can't eat sugar.
I love their bubble tea. The curries are really good, pad Thai is not as good as some other places I have been in Chicago but there is a lot of really good Thai in Chicago so that's not a bad thing. I would recommend sticking to the curry dishes and appetizers.
So bad service.
Perfect food and service in a gorgeous setting—can't wait to go back!
I come here once or twice a month, one of the best places for Thai food. Service is great, delicious food, place is always clean and usually quiet.
I absolutely love this place my friends and I frequent this restaurant at least 4 - 5 times a month
Taste is good.
I'm a regular here. Love the pineapple fired rice! Great food and great service.
I ordered food to be delivered and was going to pay with my visa when the driver arrived, which is one of the options offered. When the driver arrived, he was very rude and told me that I could only pay with cash. I told him I was paying with visa card, he grabbed the food from me and walked out. I called to complain and told the driver to come back and expected me to pay full price.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! Food is decent at best. Plenty of other better Thai places to choose from.
my dining experience blew me away. I chanced into the restaurant on a snowy day just looking for something to fill the void. instead I had an amazing experience. the place is clean and very welcoming. I was greater with a smile. the the lunch special was a great price and a large portion. I had the basil chicken. the soup of the day was Delecious... chicken noodle I believe and the presentation was awesome. even the way the silverware was wrapped was thoughtful. I had more smiles from the lady serving me to last the entire week. they even game me a free dessert which was served chilled and was outstanding. I cannot wait until my next time in Chicago, I will definitely return.
Best thai restaurant in chicago!
I was impressed with Thai Pastry. We ventured up a few days ago to check out out this place in the mini rain storm. Service was great, the food was on point and the the tiny free coconut flavored dessert put a smile on my face. Can't say that this was the best I've had. That title still belongs to Ping Pong Thai Restaurant in Las Vegas.
After lunch we checked out the pastries, they appeared to be repackaged pastries so we didn't bother. Though we asked if they had samples available to try---they don't. Oh well.
great food wondeful pricers and a good atmospher and friendly service whats not to like.
