Neighborhood storefront spot serving traditional Thai fare in a no-frills dining room or on a patio.
We pass by this so many times and I'm so upset we haven't eaten here before! It's so delicious!! Even though they were closong soon, everything we ordered was made fresh! The peanut sauce for the chicken satay was incredible! We can't wait to try other dishes, we some how managed to eat most of our bowl and hit a pleasant food coma.
This is the go to place when I was studying in UIC a few years ago. The taste is great and their open hours are quite friendly to students’ life. I visited the restaurant recently, unfortunately they are still not open for dine in. But you can sit outside to have the take out you ordered.
We decided to carry out and when we opened our food we were disgusted. My bf had hair in his rice, which by the way was super gummy and mushy. We ordered spring rolls which I thought were suppose to be fried but they were not. We were so grossed out by the hair that we both ended up throwing our food out.
i love their chicken pad thai and their quick and friendly service. they’re quiet and super fast in the kitchen. they also treat all customers respectfully, even the ones that come in throwing hissy fits. thankful that these ladies are still in business, i highly recommend this cute spot!!
Crazy Noodles happens to be my first choice. The spicy red sauce has a sweet and fiery kick. Crab Rangoons pair well with just about anything for an appetizer. They are piping hot and fresh, during the week at lunch time, mm mmm. Take your friends here for a bite to eat. You shall enjoy a delicious Thai meal here.

It was delicious, cheap, and fast! Best lunch in the UIC area.
Great food. I've been coming here for decades. I do wish that they would open it back up for sit down or delivery. I hope they stay open.
Love this place! Take out only for now, but the staff and food here are amazing!
I wish they would open the inside again 😞
Taking to go in great but I'd love to be there
This place is take out only. Food is soooo good, definitely underrated and close to uic
Actual prices are just a few dollars more than what's listed online, as an FYI to anyone else ordering for pickup/take out! I ordered for pickup and realized that their online menu prices no longer matched their actual prices once I was paying at the restaurant. I was not told the total price over the phone, but I also did not ask.
Good food. Makes me nervous that they don't open up for sit down. It's like they know something. They haven't opened up since covid
No indoor seating but there is a picnic bench outside. Call in order before you go.
I've literally been coming here for 17 years - which is insane to think about. I always get the pan fried chicken noodles. I super recommend.
The lady at the door very rude. Food very blend no taste at all for the price. Mediocre mediocre MEDIOCRE
We have done takeout with them many times. Always good food. Reasonable prices.
Delicious every part of what i had no grease all immensely wonderful. Staff were super quick and delightful. Honestly the Hot and Sour soup was the best along with Pad Woonsen thai bowl.
Best authentic Thai I've ever had!
I drive down from Michigan a few times a year just to grab takeout from this great spot.
Such a welcoming place to enjoy a meal. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly!
It's been a while since I've eaten IN house due to covid but I'm still happily supporting whether the dining room is open or not
My go to thai food on Taylor street. Very tasty.
Amazing food! We had the Beef Lard Nahr and Shrimp Pot Stickers and loved them. Highly recommend!
Food is delicious. But prices went up and portions got smaller and this is not updated on website. Asked for some hot sauce (which previously was on tables for free) and they said it was $2 more. Wild. No more dine-in, only take out.
The portion size is on the smaller side given the price, so you could look into some other options for more food if you plan on spending $15-$20 for lunch. But the food was good though. Keep in mind they only have takeout.
I always try to stop by whenever I am around this area. Asian Beef Noodle is amazing. Great service!
I was visiting UIC campus and stumbled upon this hidden gem. I ordered the beef curry noodles, and it tasted very authentic and was very filling. It’s family owned and they have some nice outdoor seating.
This family owned restaurant has some of the most authentic food you can find! The waiter was very kind and I ordered the Pad Thai, which was quite cheap and plenty filling!
I come here every week for chicken satay and spring rolls. Every other Thai place cannot compare to the quality and taste of this place. Trust me I’ve searched everywhere for a place that rivals this place and I have yet to find one. They simply have the best Thai food in Chicago.
Cute spot with really good Thai food.
In our opinion, the best Thai restaurant in the neighborhood.
Beat Thai food in Chicago

I don't know how is possible that today it has 4 star. This place is delicious. You cannot eat inside, but food is super good! Try the pepper beef spicy!
They permanently closed the dining room which makes me sad. Loved this place since 20 years ago. The Phad Thai lacked some vegetables.
Probably the best Thai food near UIC
I went here on a recommendation from a friend... It did not disappoint. I got the beef curry noodles and they were absolutely amazing. Staff was really friendly. Will definitely be coming back here.
They don’t open until 12 got here at 11 not one person here
Pad Thai, egg rolls, pot stickers and crab rangoon were very delicious. Will order again.
Always enjoyed the food here until I found two pieces of long black hair in my pad see ew. This is the second time its happened. Whoever cooks the food definitely doesn't wear a hair net.
therenis always a line for this place.... always
had pad thai with suzanne for her bday. celebrate
I had been craving Thai Bowl since I retired… how when I finally got some recently I was very disappointed! I think they must have been training the kids… noodle’s was mushy and the egg rolls were greasy, wanted to return!
Been going here ever since undergrad and I am always served fresh and yummy food!
This place has been around for at least 20 years. The food is pretty good and affordable. The lard nar is one of my favorites here. My family loves to come here when they visit
Very good pad thai!
Love love love this place!! Portions are great for the price and food is soo good. Their crab Rangoons are one of the best I’ve had!! Definitely a hidden gem
One of my favorite places to grab food from over the years. You can't beat what feels like an authentic home cooked meal that is always hot and fresh.
It doesn't have any delivery system even though advertised as one...
Absolutely best Pad Thai in Chicago. I'll admit the look of the place kept me from trying it the first 2 years I lived in the area but when I finally did I knew I'd keep coming back. They give you plenty of meat in whatever type of dish you choose and you will be feeling stuffed by the end.
UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION! I drove an hour and a half to a place that is still not open……. It’s only carry out!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Best Thai food in Chicago.
Love the pad thai & shu mai! Consistently good food.
Gas
First time eating here and I would not recommend. It had some good points — ingredients were fresh/clean and the Crazy Noodles was a tasty dish. But there’s no spice! The best thing about eating Thai food is the flavor, and this restaurant offers none. Very bland, and very salty — the Tom Yum soup was deeply disappointing. Add to that high prices and I don’t wish to return.
The food here is just okay. I found it to lack flavor and the quality just wasn’t all that great. It’s pretty average and kind of expensive for what you get. Don’t forget the prices are subject to change sign on the front door! My friends loved it but they lack the sophisticated palette that I have been so blessed with.
Great, hot, fresh cooked food.
So happy I found this little hidden gem! Definitely my go to place for Thai. The food is always fresh and piping hot. So happy they stayed opened, and that they are still maintaining the social distance even after the reopening. The garden seating is so cute and quaint. The staff is very polite and helpful. And their delivery service is such a life saver!! Whether you take it to go, eat there or get it delivered, they got you covered! Highly Recommend you try it! Double thumbs up!!
Best pad Thai and spring rolls I’ve ever had.
Food was great and the service was fast and really good. Portions were big for the reasonable prices. Definitely recommend!
This is simply delicious Thai food !! Must try
BEST THAI FOOD IN CHICAGO, ALWAYS FRESH AND CLEAN EATING. OWNER AND COOKS ALWAYS PLEASANT. STILL PRACTICING STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING. A CUT ABOVE THE REST. CLOSE TO MY HOME. ONLY OTHER LOCATION THAT COMPARES IS THAI SPOON ON THE NORTH SIDE. ALL OTHERS PALE IN COMPARISON.
Solid Thai food large portions and affordable food. In the warmer months the out door eating area is magical.
Good and affordable Thai food very close to campus. I had so many meals there when I was in school. I would recommend it in a heart beat.
This is my go to Thai restaurant around this area. I always do takeout. The interior is nothing fancy, but the food is really good. It differs from time to time based on which family member is cooking, but the variance is a good thing. The portions are big and the prices reasonable.
Best Thai place in the area! Excellent food that’s always high quality and just as you expect it, and they take really good care of vegetarian/allergic customers. Most anything can be made vegetarian and they even called me back to confirm allergens, ask if I eat egg and such. Sweet family owned place you can make your regular spot. Good portion sizes, no hidden up-charges, and I can always eat one dish for two meals. (Also, they are always wearing masks and being really COVID safe, nice patio to eat at outside in the summer)
Good service, crazy noodles and curries are good.
Use to eat here when we lived in the area in 2003. Came back for take out and was as remembered. Very friendly and food was super tasty as it was then.
Used to be one of my favourite take out places.
Great thai food enough said
Great food and service during these times.
Lotta money for bland microwaved food. Barely warm a min after I got it.
Thai bowl's is by far the BEST Thai place I have been to. No other places compare to their wide noodle pad see ew or chicken pad thai and the amazing flavor! Such a nice family business too. Definitely a go-to even Kanye West has been seen eating here by fellow UIC students since campus is close by.
Best Thai in the city
Solid Thai
Delicious! Thank you for accommodating my food allergies 💜
I love thai bowl! Been eating here for over 15 years and they've never disappointed. The patio area can use a face lift though, it's infested with bugs
Good food
The food is mediocre at best. I understand that quarantine has affected many businesses, but this place has raised their prices and lowered their quality significantly. The menu is hard to read and the food does not reflect the description on the menu. For example, I ordered the Thai iced tea which was 70% ice and 30% drink. And my gf ordered the pork wonton bowl; the pork was dry and old tasting and covered carelessly with pepper. The cashier lady was rude and very slow with her service. I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will not be returning to eat here for as long as I walk on the earth.
They are closed until further notice
Thai food
Quaint little place with good food and good pricing. Ambiance could've been better. Good for dine and dash for students
Amazing home like food
Favorite Thai food.
Best thai green curry in the city. Amazing
Good spot and good food!
I have been coming here for years, absolutely delicious.
The food was great - watch out! So wondrously hot food ! large amts, tasty & all a family afair!
I've eaten and enjoyed Thai Bowl's food for years—can't picture Taylor Street without it. Friendly service and respectable value.
terrible service. food is fine.
Good thai food
The food here is disgusting. I have given this place 2 tries. This place is nowhere near decent thao cuisine.
Classic.
the chicken pad thai is great. never a bad experience.
It has been twice that I have ordered ahead of time and every time I get there the food is not ready l. The third time this happened I was furious because I seen the lady shot out the order when I paid. I immediately was angry at the fact that im going to have to wait 20 minutes like i had done in the past for food I ordered 30 minutes ago! She said it takes a long time and I looked at the restaurant and it was empty. So disappointing because the crazy noodles are my favorite there!
I been coming here for years, the food is great and the prices are as well, plus is byob!
The food is fine (7/10). I dined in alone and was surprised when the cashier lady forced me to put tip on the bill. I mean tip should be optional and can be either cash/card. It's not her business and she was a little rude honestly.
Used to come here often. Arrived at 12:13pm and placed a togo order with only 2 other patrons in the place that had their food and were eating. Still waiting on the food at 1:11pm. Our order was 2 noodle entrees and an order of crab rangoons. Asked the front staff and they said 'its coming'. Well, we won't be coming back. Someone please sell them a POS system.
Decent food however they don't have brown rice anymore.
Food was good
Good food and good service.

Best pad Thai with chicken in the city
Excellent Pad Thai! Great Service!
Really great food. Tastes like a family-cooked meal. Try the Pad Thai, the chicken fried rice, and the Thai Iced Tea 👍🏼
Food is cheap and good. Interior could be cleaner
Great food, but the place isn't very nice, and not well-managed.
Excelente lugar, riquísima la comida y buen trato! Muy recomendable.
I enjoy Asian food.
Nice place to eat.
An old favorite among my gaming cronies at UIC, this is one of your best choices for Thai cuisine on the near west side. Yes, the furniture might be plastic chairs and older wood tables. But did you come here to eat, or did you come here to ogle the furniture?
Fast and delicious!
Great food and great service at a reasonable price.
Good place to sit and eat would friends. The prices are relatively cheap for the amount of food you get. I recommend the duck Pad Thai.
Amazing Thai!!
Great food, at a good price.
Food is really good Israel great service that was wonderful I recommend anybody to visit
Very nice place. Food was good and it didn't take long for them to prepare the meal. My visit was during lunch hour. Staff were great!
They have a weird way of calculating tip.
Delicious food and afordable
Best chicken pad thai I ever had, as well as many other dishes and enormously generous amount. Employees are soo kind. I drive over a hour just to get their food.
