Classic & creative Thai dishes served in minimalist, modern digs with flowers, candles & BYOB.
The server, Chris, was very respectful and attentive. The food was the best part. This restaurant has never disappointed me once! And I know that every time I come back, it will only get better. My family loves it! The food is exquisite, so if you are in Chicago and have not had Thai food just yet, then Silom 12 has got to be on your list!
If there is anything, I wish the space was larger. Other than that, it is a must visit. Highly recommend!!
So delicious!
I just had wide noodles in curry with beef and veggies and it all came together so well. I love this place! Thank you, Silom12. ♥️
We order from here through a food delivery service, so can’t rate atmosphere or service. Food itself was the worst Thai food ever. All chicken and pork dishes were super dry and fibrous. Veggies in the noodle were also dry, as though they sat outside the fridge for 2 days. Moreover for Thai food, everything was quite bland. Most other Thai restaurants cook better.
We had such an amazing experience. The waiter was very kind and passionate about the food. We had the Penang Curry, Spicy Lime Leaf noodle, and papaya salad. The papacy salad (not pictured) tasted just like the one we had in Thailand- highly recommend! Also BYOB so we were able to pair it with one of our favorite Sauvignon Blancs!
This is our favorite Thai spot in Bucktown - sometimes we venture out but always come back. My husband believes you can judge a Thai restaurant by their Paht Thai and theirs is his favorite. We got the crab fried rice, crab rangoon, coconut shrimp, mini egg rolls and Kao Soi and it was perfect. Take out took 15 minutes which was surprising and appreciated.
Would definitely recommend! The restaurant has a nice aesthetic! Service is great and the food is also great! The owner let us use the space for our small wedding gathering and the service was outstanding couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate! The food is delicious like mentioned previously, all of our guests enjoyed and were very satisfied! A must place to visit!!!
Pad Thai with steak is great!
So delicious!

Good Thai food and nice ambiance. Service was good too. Wasn't too happy with my Pad Thai as it had way too much sauce on it, but overall a good experience.
Very cute place, food was delicious!
Such a great dinner date. Quiet and great service.
The food was incredible, from the crab Rangoon to the drunken noodles, and so were the martinis! Our server was really great too, very attentive and polite. A hidden gem in the area

Great customer service, very friendly staff & the food was amazing!
i attend yoga at the studio across the street and have been thinking king about stopping by here for a while. i am so happy i finally did! all the food we ordered was great. i got the thai sweet and sour stir fry, and my friend got the drunk noodle. we shared some baby rolls and i got a beef salad. i’ll definitely be stopping by this place more often!
We like to judge a Thai place on its Tom yum, and sadly it was not good. Didn’t taste anything like Tom yum. There were a lot of mushrooms in it which is confusing. The beef drunken noodles were good, but nothing special. The take out was quick though and everyone was friendly.
Loved open window seat, and our server was attentive and kind. The duck curry was amazing!! Will be back
This place is so good! I love their panang curry and have had both the noodle dish and curry on multiple occasions. Very flavorful with the perfect amount of heat without being too spicy. My husband got the spicy rice and said it was delicious and nice and spicy. Also, if you order delivery through the restaurant, which they have a very easy system to do online, the fee is only $3 and the driver got here super fast with very fresh, hot food. Will definitely be ordering more.
We ordered pick up but knew something was wrong when we saw no customers in the restaurant. Turned out to be overpriced food for poor quality. Will not go again. AND the onigiris they sell are like convenience store food, not made by them. For five dollars you can buy ten of them at a convenience store in japan

We came for dinner and had a great meal! Also, it is BYOB. The food was flavorful and the service was quick.
Really nice people! And my favorite Thai in the area. Their version of crab Rangoon are the only ones I’ve ever had that don’t make me feel terrible about myself after eating them 😂. They make them with a thin wonton wrapper so they’re not greasy or heavy. Also a fan of their pad thai and I like that they offer kao soi
curry noodles were so good
Tasty, friendly, fast service. Nice vibe.
Great local Thai spot! The food is great, the pricing is good as well. Service is fast and friendly, delivery is also fast. Honestly never had a bad experience and I eat here all the time. Highly recommend!
Best Thai in the city. I moved across town and still order from here.
Really great Thia food and service !
Hands down the best Thai spot in the area! I recommend the Spicy Lime Leaf Noodles, massaman curry, and everything else too! I’m still eating my way through the menu
Silom 12 is my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. I used to work at a Thai Restaurant for 3 years. I was very close with the owners and referred to them as my Thai parents. My Thai “mom” passed away during the pandemic from an aneurism but the Panag curry at Silom 12 is the only one that tastes most like my mom’s cooking. So many incredible classic Thai dishes but the Panag Noodles, Kai Soi, and Tom Ka is always my favorite.
ขอบคุณ ครับ/ ค่ะ!
They don’t let third party employees (grub hub, ubereats) use the restroom, which is against policy. Told me I can’t use the restroom and was going to have me wait 10-20 min for the orders. AS IF! I will definitely get into contact with Uber headquarters, business like this should not partner with third parties and get their own employees to run deliveries. Appalled in all senses.
Update: guess what? Not allowing Ubereats or doordash drivers to use the bathroom, is against the policy, so how about you stop working with uber and doordash. We are helping you, brining you more business. You make us wait 10-15 minutes, and can’t even let us use the bathroom?? Shame on you. This is why I ALWAYS cancel your orders and will NEVER eat here.
The staff & male manager was extremely rude & unprofessional! When I asked to speak with the manager, he refused to contact the manager!! I suggest you go somewhere else that has better service!
love Siloam 12- their Beef Salad and Panang Curry are so good. The crab Rangoon is our favorite we have had- love it and always speedy delivery.
Truly amazing food! I love everything I’ve had here so far! We always get Chicken buns, they are my fav appetisers here. Other favourites are chicken Holy Basil and pad Thai.
I love this place. Authentic thai dishes are their strength. Do try their curries - Massaman, Panang, Green and Red curries. They have some amazing stir fried veggie options as well as fried rice options. You can select from a range of protein options for your choice of meal. They do have a bunch of vegetarian options as well.
The service is quick and prompt. The servers are friendly and polite. Do give this place a try if you're around or craving Thai 😋
Over the past several years, Silom 12 has become not only one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Chicago, but one of my favorite Thai restaurants PERIOD! I recommend anything and everything on their menu. My go-to is the Beef Salad and adding a side of the Silom Chili Sauce for extra kick! Enjoy :)
This used to be our favorite delivery Thai place. Everything was reasonably priced and tasted good. We were always impressed with the Pad Thai; it was never too sweet and consistently accompanied with plentiful protein. However, the chef must have changed because we noticed a huge decline in quality recently. In our most recent order, the shrimp from the pad Thai was super mushy and odd tasting. Also, the massaman curry was quite watery and lacked any substance. Also, the garlic wings had no flavoring. The only constant was the gui chai. I noticed their prices increased, as well, so I was expecting the same consistent food we’ve had over the past year. I’m really sad, as this is another restaurant that has failed us.
Delicious place with an amazing atmosphere. Great drink selection and service was awesome. Apps came out quick, cucumber salad was refreshing and potstickets really tasty.
Got the Tiger Cry and Drunken Noodles, both were delicious with decent serving sizes. Could have been spicier, even though we requested much spicier.
Myself and my partner really like Thai food but this was bland and tasteless. The service and the restaurant were good. Won't be going back though. From reading other reviews, it seems that this restaurant used to be much better than it is now.
We had such an amazing experience. The waiter was very kind and passionate about the food. We had the Penang Curry, Spicy Lime Leaf noodle, and papaya salad. The papacy salad (not pictured) tasted just like the one we had in Thailand- highly recommend! Also BYOB so we were able to pair it with one of our favorite Sauvignon Blancs!
we get takeout from here almost weekly. it's SO good!
Bleh. Used to be solid Thai food, something must have changed recently. Basil chicken was a soupy, unflavored awful rendition of what I'd call basil chicken. Pad Thai uses super thin rice noodles and was extremely sub par. Will not be going back and will have to find a new thai place nearby.
Great customer service! Dined in on a slow Thursday afternoon and the waitress was so sweet and our food arrived quickly. Food was delicious as well!
so delicious and customer service is awesome
We had a late lunch there on a Sunday. Food, service, and atmosphere was very good. Interior is newly remodeled and is open and spacious. Right by the 606 trail. We would come back.
Good food and they were very quick for takeout even during a snowstorm
Very solid Thai, they have some things that are harder to get. The spicy lime noodles were delicious but everything was good. Would definitely come back
went on a date here and the person was really cool so i’ll give it 5 stars. food was fire too
Best massamun curry I’ve ever had. Very friendly staff!
Food is absolutely amazing and staff is so friendly. Drinks are so so good. This was my 2nd time there and won’t be the last
I love their khao soi gai. I order it all the time and can’t get enough. I also love their crab Rangoon. They’re smaller than other places, but they’re so light and crispy without the overly fried taste that so often comes with crab Rangoon.
Great staff, great food. Went twice in a day hahaha
red thai curry and orange chicken were both amazing 10/10
Best Thai food we’ve had in the city! We had red curry, massaman curry, and pad see ew. All three were outstanding, well-spiced, and traveled nicely for take out. Having trouble reconciling some of these bad reviews - we couldn’t have been more pleased with our meal. Delicious!
Food came quickly through Ubereats but did not receive the soup when ordering ramen. Just got ingredients. Chicken buns were good, noodles ok. Really disappointed I didn't get a full dinner.
Ordered as a treat for our Anniversary - Husband ordered the and it had a TBSP of chinese broccoli leaves in it. We had to pick through it to find them. We called to complain that a main ingredient was pretty much missing from the dish and the guy argued with my husband. My husband went back to the restaurant and they gave him a tiny cup of chinese brocoli and continued to argue with him about chinese brocoli what it is and how much they use. Well I've got picture evidence of the amouint. The dish has 3 ingredients. The vegetable should not be a side relish! I understand everyone is under constraints right now but it's brocoli.
Ordered here as it's our go to place for Thai food, delicious fresh Obrien and good portions. Super fast delivery. Like Jimmy John's fast . I was really disappointed though when my panang noodle arrived as it was so watered down and tasteless. I called to ask for a redo. They complied with this request but almost grudgingly. Told me it was because I had asked for mild they pour coconut water in it. It was awful this way so don't request mild! It took an hour for the redo to arrive and it was still quite watered down just not as bland. I'm going to look elsewhere for Thai food. The meat was also boiled and tough it used to be better.
Good Thai food.
My favorite Thai place. They're allergen friendly and personalizable.
A true neighborhood gem! Great place, even better service. We had drunken noodles, green curry, and mango sticky rice and everything was delicious. Will definitely be coming back
I’m a Uber eats driver bad service here!
I was there on 8/9/22 at about 3pm. After a long day of errands in the city, I thought I would get some Thai food. I googled Thai food, and the closest was on Western. But I passed it up, because it didn't have a good vibe. So this was my next choice. It was empty, but the decor is nice, and has great ambiance. I was sat next to a window, which the breeze was just right. My waitress was extremely friendly. I ordered, Thai iced coffee, Crab Rangoon, and Chicken Pad Thai. My favorite is Pad Thai, it's very hard to find good Thai. There's was great, flavorful, and not dry. The last two times I have ordered Thai, from different locations, it was horribly dry. I told her I would definitely be back.
Good amount of spice, but all our food was incredibly oversalted. To the point that at least half of it was inedible. Maybe just a bad day for the kitchen, but would expect a bit more consistency for the price.
Had Larb, Green Curry, and Pad Khee Mao. All super good. Highly recommend. Very fresh and spicy.
One of my go-to takeout spots. Chef specials are great. Crab rangoon is always a treat too
The Pad Thai and spring rolls were yummy! A nice spot to go on date!
We came early Saturday evening and the place was completely empty, which felt odd. The food was alright, like standard Thai food... They use sweet potato in the masman curry, which I didn't like as much... Made the dish tooo sweet. The drunken noodles were good. The ginger iced tea was good. Service was great!
Ordered stir fry basil and veggie egg rolls. Food had a weird taste, even the rice... I decided to throw it away after 4 bites or so. Less than five minutes later I was throwing up violently over the toilet. Highly disappointing… The staff was nice but 1 star for the food.
Genuine Thai food. The flavors were phenomenal, especially the curry! Need to go again.
Great atmosphere, great staff and amazing food. Favorite dish Thai fried rice.
This is my favorite Thai in chicago! The red curry is perfectly creamy and spiced. So many options on the menu and everything ive gotten has been fabulous. Also, the staff is SO nice, always very friendly over the phone and in person. Can’t say enough about this place!
The worst ‘Tom Yum” I’ve ever tried. No coconut milk, very sour, shrimps very soooo old and overcooked they crumbled like a cooky in my mouth. Never again, do not recommend
I don’t rate restaurants often but I’ve been here a few times now and the food is stellar. I recommend the Khao Soi!
I'm disappointed and annoyed. I ordered vegetarian pad thai, pad siew with tofu, and their summer wraps. Everything looked to be fine when my order arrived, but I realized the order was wrong once I opened the bag.
Both noodle dishes looked to be pad thai, but they were not. One was very bland- looking and the other dish seemed to just have random scrap veggies thrown in (baby corn, green beans, and huge uncooked bell peppers).
The noodles were stuck together and overcooked to the point that I was unable to eat them like noodles. I had to cut and eat them in small chunks. The summer wraps were packaged neatly, but were very bland as well. The "peanut" sauce that came with it was...heavy. That's the best way I can describe it. It tasted like they'd put some type of old cooking grease in it, and the flavor of peanut butter was nonexistent. Overall, I'm disappointed that I paid $40+ for food/food delivery that I didn't enjoy.
Our go to Thai place! Delivery is fast and food is really good. Like the green curry and cashew stir fry!

I will never find another pad Thai sweeter than
You, sweeter than you
And I will never find another green curry more delicious than you, more delicious than you
Silom 12,
Vegetables to me could not be fresher
Chicken to me cooked under pressure
Wontons to me are like a treasure
Other Thai to me is always lesser
You are the only one my everything and for you this song I sing
All my life I pray for some Thai like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
Loved the ambiance and the food. Easily got a table on a friday night. Place wasn't super crowded but service was a little slow.
The khao soi and masuman curry were great. Amazing flavor and generous portions. Their homemade thai ginger drink was spectacular. Would definitely go back here.
Got takeout from here last week. Food was ready on time and the portions are good.
I am GF and suspect the spring rolls had wheat pasta in them, not rice noodles like it should be.
The Panang noodles flavor was good, but the noodles were mushy and stuck together - too over cooked. The crispy tofu also was not crispy, but maybe because it was a Togo order?
The massaman curry was the best dish - would get that instead if I got food from here again.
Ordered the Basil Duck. Came as basically 6 pieces of skin for $20. Would not order here again.
Today was my 1st time here. I was pleasantly surprised they had a large vegetarian menu. The food was absolutely delicious, portion size was filling and the price was great. The service was also great, the servers were very kind, welcoming, and patient since we had a large group order. I will definitely be coming back! The
Food was great! The Duck Delight was a delightful mix of eclectic ingredients that were both savory and delicious. The vegetable egg rolls were fried to perfection, with a crisp shell surrounding a chewy filling. The atmosphere was quiet & pleasant and our waiter treated us, as if we were the only ones there!
Great vegetarian options. Mango sticky rice is amazing. Love this neighborhood spot.
We walked into this restaurant after being disappointed that the Costa Rican restaurant across the street was closed. The setting was initially dark and spartan. As our eyes adjusted, we asked to see the menu. There were plenty of options and we saw our favorites so we settled in and ordered a bottle of Bogle Zinfandel, Drunken Noodles, Chicken with Mixed Vegetables, and Mango and Sticky Rice. The meal was delicious, the service excellent, and we engaged with our host throughout the meal to learn that the restaurant had just opened to indoor seating after a year of pickup service alone. After ten years, the restaurant earned a loyal customer base to survive Covid. Our host also proudly pointed out the highest tier of recognition it received as a Thai restaurant. Highly recommended.
I have ordered here many times but tried 2 new dishes that I didn’t like the (pepper beef, masaman) and they don’t taste good at all! I normally order the pangan curry or chicken cashew or pad sew. I think I’ll hold of on ordering here for a while! Made me RE think I should have ordered Italian or from a steak house instead today!
Ordered through grubhub. Food is great! I finally found my favorite Thai restaurant in the area after I moved. Massamun curry was the best Thai curry I've had. My husband had orange chicken and he said it's his favorite OC!
What awesome service. I called to ask a question about Gluten Free, then placed my order online. After I submitted my order, the restaurant immediately called to confirm my order because I ordered items that were not gluten free. One item, I assumed was GF, and it wasn’t but they were able to make it GF for me. The other item was for someone else that isn’t GF. The point is that they realized it was me, and called to check and offer the modification. That’s service that I appreciate. Thank you!
This place charged me, without my permission, $3 to substitute American broccoli for Chinese broccoli. Done this substitution a ton. Never had an up charge. Also, just looked it up and American broccoli is LESS expensive than Chinese broccoli. Hope they enjoyed their 3 extra dollars (that I got back from Door Dash anyway) because I will NEVER be back
I kid you not they delivered hot delicious food in a mere 14 minutes from the time I ordered. I live only a mile away, but still, I wouldn't expect this short of a turn around from a restaurant just across the street. Highly recommend ordering directly from their website (10% off first order) and ordering their Paht Siew. Between time delivered and the fact that their Paht Siew was one of the best I've had in Chicago, I will definitely be ordering from here again.
Sad that I can’t find a good Thai place in bucktown. I thought this might be the one as it had the best reviews but I got a panang curry that was completely flavorless. I get panang almost every time I get Thai and I don’t think I’ve ever had one this bad. Eating it with rice I couldn’t even tell it had panang curry on it, it was just very bland and tasted watered down to oblivion. The papaya salad wasn’t fresh; all the cherry tomatoes were mushy and wrinkly. For a Thai restaurant on the pricier end I was totally disappointed
Pad thai is always solid.
Ordered from here for the first time today and loved it!!! Delicious food. Ordered through Google and they even called when the order was ready. I just wish they had descriptions of the vegetarian items on their menu!
I don't normally or ever leave reviews. In fact, this is my second . I have tried dozens of Thai places and I Usally order same thing. Beef Salad, Thai ice tea and some sort of appetizer. This place has set a bar and standard for me. The Beef Salad was THEE freshest beef salad I ever had. The meat was cooks excellent nice char the greens were so fresh. I felt like I picked them from a garden. The tea was great and the appetizer baby egg rolls were on point. To the owners and Head Chef. Great work! I did order via Uber Eats and my order came in tact and on time and the beef was still warm! I may be switching to this place. While it is pricy...to me it's worth it.
We had pad thai and drunken noodles. Not bad, but lacked much in the way of flavor, the pad thai was very bland.
Some of the most consistent and delicious Thai food I've had in the city. Love their COVID setup for takeout orders too.
Wow, definitely my favorite Thai food in the city. We had massaman curry and paht thai and everything was so delicious. Look forward to trying more on their menu.
Wow! Best Massaman curry I've ever had. Excellent spring rolls (summer wraps). Yum yum!!!!
This place is great. Amazing food, reasonably priced, updated interior, fast service. Somehow, there never seems to be a wait.
Best orange chicken in the city, if not the best thai in the city. Everything else I've tried has been great too. High quality food, not the typical thai/chinese at a lot of other places. Quick delivery (through their own website, not through GrubHub, etc.) Every meal I've had from here has been great, but hooh boy, their orange chicken takes the cake.
Reliable for takeout! Flavorful and as expected.
Live close by and frequently eat here. Always kind people and great food and service.
Best Tom Yum Soup ever!
Service was horrible. We waited about an hour just to receive our drinks and it was nowhere near packed.
Very kind staff. The dessert was the most flavor of the meal. Corking fee per person is kinda lame.
Took too long to prepare our food. Food was tasteless and expensive.
New Favorite spot, Great for take out! The Massumun Curry is Ridiculous...Ridicuoulsy good. Such a nice touch with the coconut milk added. Love it and will be back!
Excellent food, very good service, very nice atmosphere
Delicious food and great staff!
We were entertaining guest from UK and so it was a chance we were taking, as it was our first time there. Good was good, service was cold, charge $2.50 for a small bowl of rice which was not even filled. Great Ambience..no reason to go agian.sorry
Great food with excellent service
Super fresh food, really well priced and service was great. Will be returning.
Good vegitarian menu
Ordered a pad Thai to go and was unsatisfied, no sauce and thin clumps of noodles :(
Good curry. Cocktails were surprisingly great.
Delicious ....I’ve gone back several times now to try their curry dishes. So, good. Rich, creamy sauce with some added heat..., oh man,I’m hooked! Will be back to try more. Prompt service and friendly folks. Thanks guys !
I've been a customer of Silom 12 for a while - both in restaurant and delivery - and the last time I ordered delivery I was sent spring rolls with improperly cooked shrimp. This gave me food poisoning, and the next day the manager of the restaurant came to pick up the unfinished dish because he didn't believe when I called that I was telling the truth. Seeing the uncooked shrimp for himself, he apologized, told me that their chef refused to accept that he hadn't cooked the food properly and left. I hadn't ordered from them for a long time because of this disagreeable experience, but today I decided to order. I figured I'd be safe if I didn't order seafood. About half an hour after placing my order, I received an email saying that it had been cancelled. When I called the restaurant to ask why, I was told that the chef would no longer serve me because of what happened the last time I ordered. I think this tells you everything you need to know about the service here. They won't take responsibility when they make a mistake, and when you give them a second chance they offend you for a second time. This restaurant doesn't deserve to be in business.
Just ordered from GrubHub here, first time visiting Chicago & they seemed like they had pretty decent reviews. I ordered Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. As soon as I opened my Pad Thai I got a weird smell. I tried it and immediately got the taste of soapy mildew. After a 8 hour plane ride and craving good Thai, I’m extremely disappointed. I would not recommend.
The red curry and chicken pad Thai is the best thing to ever grace my mouth and taste buds. I’m not kidding, it’s like cr*ck. I’ve had this every night for 3 nights still want more
BYOB, the ambience it’s nice and relaxing and the food is good. Specially the appetizer/starters.
Great place for Thai dining. The portions are more than ample and the flavors are excellent. The decor is appropriate for casual dining or a formal evening. Service was attentive. We went during the early evening so there was another street parking. We'll go again.
Always fresh and nice dining room.not too pricey but good quality!
It was like being in Thailand. Great Tum Yum soup. The best Pad Thai out side of the bus stop out side Bancock.
There is a lot of variety here and everything I have tried has been made well and with quality ingredients. Their takeout/delivery is as good as their dine-in and it doesn't suffer in transit. This place has been around for years but I have only tried it twice and recently but I'll definitely go back. It's always nice to have a solid option when you don't know what to eat but want it to be good.
Fantastic food, service, and ambiance
They play stupid cover songs. I've given this place three times to get a better review from me. It's essentially watered down Thai food. No flavor, no spice. I can see that most of the reviews on here are from people who can't handle spice or flavor. The good rating misled me into trying this place. It's relatively close to me. About a thirteen minute walk, but I won't be coming here again.
I ordered all specials. The tiger cry steak, the pork shank, and the soft shell crab entree. The pork was dry. The steak sat on a bed of green beans and they were bland as hell. The soft shell crab was the best. And it had spice, but it's crazy I have to go to a place three times to be satisfied. However, if you can't handle spice, this place is perfect for you.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area.
Food very good. Different I had the softshell crab. A little too much veggies but it was delicious.
Good scene for tasty Thai food. Cool place to meet and catch up with coworkers. Service is typically great. The bill was decent.
