Very clean, amazing food and wonderful service.

Diner Review №2

The new owners here are great (used to be Opart Thai, which was our favorite Thai place in Chicago before they moved during the pandemic). Siam Rice is AMAZING and new favorite in Chicago! :)

Diner Review №3

Ordered like $40 worth of food and got there on time to pick up but was told another 10 mins. I needed to use the bathroom while waiting but manager lady wouldn’t let me. Terrible service. Fried rice was good pad see ew was ewww.

Diner Review №4

restaurant has nice atmosphere, quick polite service, and good food for reasonable price.

Diner Review №5

The food was disappointing and they charge for veggies on pad thai. Be aware. I've seen Thai restaurants charge extra for meats but never for frozen veggies they seem to use. This makes this restaurant unique.

Diner Review №6

They say to judge a thai restaurant by their tom yum and sum tum salad and they were perfect. The ingredients were fresh and you could taste the complexity of each dish. We had the salmon in panang and the basil fried rice and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. As i was was walking to the bathroom i caught a glimpse of the kitchen, it was spotless. Loved the food, and i am looking forward to enjoying everything on the menu in the future

Siam Rice is my go to spot for delicious Thai food. MUST GO!!!

Diner Review №10

We're so happy another Thai restaurant came into this space! The owner was welcoming and pleasant! The Tom Yum and Tom Kha were delicious and perfectly spicy. Tiger Cry was good too, more like a steak and less like the one we were used to, but well prepared! My wife liked the PadThai. My only recommendation would be more veggies and prepared just slightly, so they keep their crunch!

Diner Review №11

Delicious fresh food at a great price made to order. Friendly staff, clean environment, safe neighborhood, short walk from convention center. highly recommended!

We dine at Siam Rice at least once or twice a month if not more. The food is delicious and they are more than willing to alter dishes to suit your taste. It is byob which keps the cost down. The Kenom Jeeb appetizer is our favorite and we always start with it. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here and will be back soon.

Diner Review №18

My go-to spot in the South Loop! Great food.

Diner Review №19

Diner Review №20

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. I am disgusted by how I was treated at this establishment. I ordered the panang curry for pick up. As I was eating my food, I noticed there was white flakes in my food. I immediately called them & told them, they offered me restaurant credit & I explained to them that I don’t feel comfortable eating from this place & would want my money back. I was then told to call back the next day to speak with the manager. I called the next day and the employee on the phone was very rude. I told her what happened & asked to speak with the manager. She was combative was cutting me off while I was explaining to her how upset I was. She told me that I can’t speak to manager and then hung up on me. I have NEVER been disrespected at a restaurant like this.

Diner Review №23

Its mediocre overall. Staff are friendly, food non offensive. Issue with the food is its bland, does not taste bad or anything just not as flavorful and nearly any other thai place I've had before.

Diner Review №25

I came here for Dinner I’ve been coming here for 3 years! And I recently came and everything was disgusting and gross! They’re saying it’s new owners but wow! Vegetable rolls were soggy, green curry had no flavor! Siam rolls chicken had a bad after taste and every time I order tiger cries it’s something different!

Diner Review №26

This restaurant has really changed Over the years. I used to love coming here to grab the cashew chicken. I never recall having pineapples In this dish. It adds unnecessary sweetness to the dish. When I asked the person taking my order was the recipe altered he said No but that was false. PINEAPPLES DON’T GO IN A DISH THAT SUPPOSED TO BE SPICY. I placed an order a few days ago and the guy who was working the cash register had a mouth full of food trying to see which order was mine. That was so unprofessional. Lunch breaks should be taken off the clock not while assisting customers. When I got home with the food all of the juice was in the bottom of the bag and the container was ruined. I asked for Extra veggies and they gave me vegetables that don’t even belong in this dish such as Broccoli. They were just doing anything. I was very unsatisfied with the service and the overall meal. I think I’ll try my luck for authentic Thai cuisine at another Thai restaurant.

Diner Review №27

Very greedy. not even allowed Restroom.

Diner Review №28

Poor service, maybe it was an off day but the staff had attitudes and it felt like there wasn’t a mutual respect

Diner Review №29

This is ridiculous, im a doordasher and they would not let me use the washroom. I really had to use it and the fact that we are delivering their food and still wasnt able to use it??? I have to buy food in order to use it??? Like hello… im delivering your food dude.. to someone else who bought it.

Diner Review №30

Excellent food and service. They serve a good variety of curries and rice and noodle dishes. I was in the area for the week of the American Geophysical conference and went there a whopping 4 times!

Diner Review №45

I just discovered this restaurant in my neighborhood and it’s delicious! I loved the red curry and my friend loved the pineapple fried rice with salmon on top. I will be a frequent patron for sure!

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

The food was decent, but the service was terrible! The waitress never said a word to me from the moment I sat down not even when she took my order. When she brought my meal she put the check on the table, which usually means they're not coming back to check on you and sure enough, she didn't. She didn't check to see if my meal was OK or if I needed anything, didn't refill my water, didn't even come to take my credit card to pay my bill (had to go to the register to pay). The only time she came to my table was to take the soy sauce and hot sauce off my table (without asking if I needed it) to give it to another customer, who she was very attentive and friendly to doing everything for that customer that she refuse to do for me. And to think I banned Asian businesses, because of past customer service issues, for two years and the one time I decide to patronize an Asian establishment I get this. I guess I'll go back on my ban of Asian businesses and I will definitely not go back to this restaurant and wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know! 2 stars overall, but ZERO STARS for the waitress and the customer service!

Diner Review №54

So happy to eat at Siam Rice again!! Basil Chicken is my favorite and Tiger Cries is my husband’s favorite!😋

Diner Review №55

Tried it yesterday for the first time and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I tried the Tiger Cries and the beef was fresh and flavored impeccably. The people I was with tried the Khao Soy and said it was excellent. I also tried the Thai Iced Tea and it was very good.

The waitress was polite and professional. In terms of ambience, I'm not quite sure what they were going for since there were signed movie/theater/musical posters on the wall on one side and traditional vases on the other. It didn't bother me but just found it interesting.

I am looking forward to when they open up delivery options. I'm also hoping to see more seafood options such as Pad Ped Pla Dook.

Diner Review №56

The chicken Pad Woon Sen is so delicious but I really really enjoyed the Tom Kha Soup! The host was really friendly kind, I can’t wait to bring Family and friends here.

Diner Review №57

The food is delicious

Diner Review №58

Great food! Great staff! One of our favorite spots!

Diner Review №59

I'm so glad I found them after they closed the Loop location. Their Basil Chicken is the best I've had. Yay... having it for dinner now!

Diner Review №60

great sticky rice with mango and pad thai

Diner Review №61

Delicious Tom Yum & Basil Chicken. It's not Opart, but it's a solid replacement.

Diner Review №62

It is just as good as any local Chinese place. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing to write home about.

Diner Review №63

how dare they get rid of opart and replace it with this smh🙁

Diner Review №64

One of the Best Thai Restaurant in Chicago. When you come to the restaurant, you should try Basil with Beef, Pad See Ew with pork, Rad Na with pork and don’t forget to try Pad Thai, and Khao Soy, the Noodle in Curry of Northern Style. Try one dish at a time or bring a lot of friends along so you could try all dishes. You will love their food.

Diner Review №65

Good Thai food ... Crowded during weekend..

Diner Review №66

Siam Rice used to be located at Washington & Wells, it moved after Covid. I am so incredibly happy they reopened. Hands down the best panang curry in Chicago.

Diner Review №67

Diner Review №68

+garlic noodles
+BYOB
+Plenty of seating

Diner Review №69

This is my new favorite Thai place downtown. Their Tom Yum and Tom Kha Soup are perfection! And the quantities are great. Since this place opened, we’ve probably ordered from there once a week. Happy to see a new Thai place in the south loop. The staff is also very friendly!

Diner Review №70

We had chicken satay, basil fried rice, and regular fried rice and it was delicious. The rice was very flavorful. Best fried rice I've had in a while.

Diner Review №71

Siam Rice recently moved to this location, and I’m so glad they did! They’ve been on Wells for 17 years and were a place I missed ordering from when I moved to the South Side.

Generous portion sizes and good food! My favorite is the Basil Chicken Rice. They’re also always fast when ordering delivery and takeout. Definitely my go to spot for Thai in this neighborhood!

Diner Review №72

Diner Review №73

So happy Siam Rice has found a new home in the South Loop! We frequented their loop location for many years before it closed because of the pandemic. Same fasts and friendly service and amazing food. We’ll be back soon!

Diner Review №74

Amazing flavors. All I have to say. The staff I talked with were all so nice, and really funny and understanding when I ordered just soup thinking it was noodle soup. I've learned many flavors just from that soup alone, and I like to think I'm a decent home cook / foodie, but this was new. I look forward to coming back and trying everything on the menu! Welcome to South Loop, Siam Rice

Diner Review №75

Went on opening weekend. Very friendly staff and owner. Moo Ping was pork well marinated. The Salmon was a good sized fish cooked nicely with an awesome Panang sauce. True to its name the rice was amazing.

Diner Review №76

Came here for lunch because a friend was craving Thai. I ordered Tiger Cries - Famous Thai grilled steak with spicy sauces on the side. Served
with sticky rice. My rice was more hard than sticky, and the steak was graciously pre-cut for me (also seemed a little dry) but the side sauce was very flavorful and I enjoyed dipping my food to moisten/flavor it up before each bite. Portions are small for the price, and they sort of crowd you in - spaces between the tables are kind of tight, but if you don't mind paying a premium and sitting inches away from the table next to you, then enjoy!

Diner Review №77

If you like to enjoy food in a piece environment you should skip this place, pretty crowded and wait time is pretty high. 5/6 people have adjusted on 4 people small tables.

Diner Review №78

Probably one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown!! The food and service is excellent, not to mention the decor. Even the bathroom is amazing, you might want to stop in there just to see it LOL. But seriously, top notch food and very large portions for the price. Get anything on the menu and you can't go wrong! My favorite is the Massaman curry. FYI, they get extremely packed at lunch time (this is Downton Chicago after all) so they have to seat people close together + allow an hour time limit to eat so everyone gets a turn; it's only fair. A lot of (entitled) reviewers mention that the staff is unfriendly but they are almost
always busy yet always very kind and if you just point out what you want they understand and answer with a smile. Be kind to your server and tbh if you plan to tip less than 20% (even for pickup), don't bother eating out anywhere!!

Diner Review №107

Amazing food and service!

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

不好恰,超级难吃。冬阴功一股脚臭味,咖喱稀的像是水。不正宗的泰国菜,瓦晕。

Diner Review №110

Ben is the best!!!!!!!

Diner Review №111

20+ minutes waiting for an order that came wrong. I cancelled and left. Very disorganized service

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №113

Diner Review №114

Solid noodle spot for Downtown with decent prices. Place gets pretty packed if you go right at noon though.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №116

Decent Thai food but definitely not the best in the city. They also get extremely busy during the lunch hour and they pack you in extremely close to others. The service is also subpar. You can definitely find better Thai.

Diner Review №117

Diner Review №118

Don't bother with anything other than take out from this place.
Mediocre food. They had literally only 1 option for vegetarians (no meat, fish), which is surprising as most Thai restaurants easily accommodate the non meat eaters. My meat eating friends didn't particularly enjoy their food either. We were a group of 3 and the bill automatically had a 20% gratuity added, which is blind robbing. The check arrived before the food and the waitress arrived for payment before the meal was complete. If they indeed want to be a fast food restaurant, it would help EVERYONE if they had a self service counter instead of the sit down format. Not a pleasant experience.

Diner Review №130

Diner Review №131

They mistreated my significant other and her close friends. I will not stand for this injustice!

Diner Review №132

Was enjoying the company of friends when rudely interrupted and kicked out of the restaurant. Although we had finished eating, we were continuing to catch up over our lunch hour when told we “can do that at home”. The server made a scene in front of the entire restaurant when telling (not asking) us to leave. So rude and the food wasn’t even that great.

Diner Review №133

Diner Review №134

Worst customer experience I have ever had. I arrived at what should have been a lunch to catch up with old friends, only to legitimately get kicked out for “staying too long”, a total of 58 minutes. My friends and I ate quickly and were sitting and catching up (once again, less than 1 hour total) before a man working came over and told us that since we were the first table there, we “‘must leave now” and stood at the table until we got up. It was not only uncomfortable for us but for every table around us that witnessed it. I’m sure they didn’t just lose our business for good but everyone around us, as well. On top of it, the food was average so it is certainly not worth the risk of coming here. Avoid at all costs.

Diner Review №137

In Chicago you can get decent Thai food almost anywhere. SIAM Rice is excellent... very authentic... one of my favorite lunch spots... when I'm near by.

Diner Review №138

The good: The food is always fresh and tasty. Many options from rice dishes to noodle dishes. Quick table service for a business lunch.

The not-so-good: The tables sit inches apart; expect zero privacy to conversations. The staff are frenetic, nearly running from station to table, throwing water into glasses (sloshing onto my pants today), and practically frisbee tossing plates into your lap. The check is brought with your food and the waiter won't return to check on you, so you'll have to shout her down if you need something.

Bottom line: If you want decent Thai food and no-frills service that gets you in and out under 45 minutes, this place fits the bill.

Diner Review №139

Service was fast for the large crowd, food was good but could've had more flavor I think

Diner Review №154

Man this place used to be my favorite I craved the beef and broccoli with ginger and definently does not taste the same. It was so water and not even thick and don't even taste or see the ginger slices 😭The beef tastes pretty gross not that same as before. Very disappointing but at least the service was great.

Diner Review №155

Not really accommodating for my vegetarian friend. Only one menu item without fish sauce the waitress said. My food was good.

Diner Review №156

Diner Review №157

Effectively 0 vegetarian entree options (exception is teriyaki tofu) because all sauces are pre-mixed and include fish sauce. Waitress said it’s not possible to get dishes made without fish sauce (ie not possible to get fresh sauce made). Ended up leaving without ordering.

Diner Review №158

Great option for lunch during the work day. Wished they had a lunch menu with cheaper options. But the food was excellent.

Diner Review №159

Diner Review №160

Great Thai lunch location downtown! My go-to... the chicken pad thai. Can get a quote busy. Get there before the lunch rush!

Great food. The service even better when a certain gentleman working behind the counter.

Diner Review №169

The food was decent. The waitresses were pushy and were very focused on getting the orders ready and send us out. We even received our check even before we started eating. I wouldn't prefer it as a dine in place but would recommend any take away orders.

I was in the area and was looking for thai restaurant near me. I'm lucky I chose this place. Their food is amazing and wants me to have more. I went there for lunch and ordered to go for dinner. The waiter and the cook are very efficient. The orders came out pretty quick. Try their Pad See-eiw <3

Diner Review №181

Horrible and racist management!!! I went to pick up a person from here and was in car in front of fire hydrant and security guard just started yelling disrespectfully saying that i cant stand there. He gave my plate # on his wireless to someone and told me ill get a ticket in mail just for standing there for 2 min. I moved from there and parked my car a little away and later came another car. That same RACIST security guard let that guy park (not just stand there). Why? Because he was black and i wasnt.

Diner Review №182

Great food fast service. Crowded at lunch... go around 11:30 to get a table. They turn over the tables pretty quick though

Diner Review №199

Diner Review №200

Unadventuresome Thai cuisine that caters to fast lunches. While the food is good, it's completely standard Thai fare that doesn't differ from any other Thai restaurant in the Western world.

If you want a good Thai meal that you know will take less than an hour, this place is it.

Service is quick, yet nonexistent. Seating is packed, but you can still carry on a conversation.
