Thai restaurant serving traditional dishes in a casual wood-accented space with Asian art.
Spice level 3/5 is not medium! spice level 3/5 is hot! But the spice level is also completely customizable. I started off with a spicy Egg rolls as an appetizer made with chicken that were crispy fresh and served with a sweet sauce. The egg rolls had a mild heat level of 1 (heat equivalent to ground pepper or paprika). By far the best egg rolls I’ve ever had.
I had the pineapple tofu curry a menus item I’ve not seen before! spice level of 3 which turned out to be the perfect spice level for me. I typically like my Mexican food at spice level 4/5 to 5/5. Heat aside it was a truly unique dish a sweet and savory curry with a mix of fruity earthy zesty and citrus notes the veggies were crisp and masterfully cooked the dish had all my tastebuds stimulated and my mouth comfortably numb from the heat well before I was at the halfway through the course and had to doggybag the rest, after downing a whopping 3-6 glasses of water to cool down the spice 😋 if you like Heat! this is your spot! If you don’t like heat, it’s still the perfect place to go!
To finish off we had the Banana in sticky rice a wonderful sweet mix.
I had awarded 4/5 stars for perfect execution and the last 5 star for uniqueness, originality and authenticity by the end of my eggroll.
Venue is unique but so is the menu, it had everything you might expect from a Tai Venue and had a homely down to earth feel. The venue matched the menu, not your typical tai restaurant but more of an authentic tai home cooked meal In a venue with tai cultural pieces as intricate as the dishes served. 5 stars for service and atmosphere.
This restaurant was AMAZING,
Sue runs the entire restaurant. We didn’t order anything, she picked everything for us and her recommendations were perfect.
The food was so tasty and I will definitely return again. I was only able to grab a pic of the appetizers but the food was perfect!
I am not Thai. So I don't know what's "authentic." But I do know that the lady who runs this place made me some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time. It is interesting, clearly hand made, slightly different from your usual Thai joint. We had the Duck and the Pad See Ew.
The best Thai food! I savor each bite because the flavors are just so good. I have eaten at many Thai restaurants in the past 2 decades and the food here is still the best. I love taking a bite of the tangy/swwet pad Thai and then a bite of the spicy/complex green curry, then panang. The flavors are complimentary. The owner is one of the kindest people who really cares about her customers. It feels like she is making you home cooked fresh and delicious food so come to sit down and enjoy the experience. Sharing family style gives the best variety.
Woman who works front counter is so friendly and kind, really talkative and wants to engage with customers. Whenever I’ve been in I’m usually the only person dining and it makes me a little sad because I know the restaurant has been in business for over 20 years and is a real labor of love. The food is absolutely phenomenal, especially for the price. Decor is cute, lots of plans and greenery and cute lighting and unique fixtures. Definitely worth coming in and getting something to eat

This place was amazing and so cute. I recommend that everyone checks it out. It is some of the best thai food you will have in all of Chicago. The food is authentic and actually spicy!!
The wings were amazing! Overall great experience and delicious food and drinks
The service was great but the food was not good and I felt very sick after eating the Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup. Soup had a strange consistency and was very sour, the Pad See Ew came with inedible slimy beef. I feel bad giving this review because the woman working there was so kind but I would caution against eating here.

A very cozy spot we stopped at on a rainy day. The food was a beautiful blend of spicy, sweet, and savory. Plus it was just the owner and us and she was very sweet :) Would recommend.
great food and sweetest owner ever

Unreal, complex flavors. Thai food as a category is delicious, but this place beats them all. Also, such a lovely and pleasant owner/chef/waitress, all in one.
Best Thai food in Wrigleyville imo, ill pass up a few closer restaurants because the quality here is better. Recommend call ahead for takeout, or walk in to order.
Everything is made to order, so it will take a lil more time BUT it's worth it! If youre unsure of what to get or wanna try something new, ask Sue (chef & owner) for recommendations; she will ask about your tastes before she shares options. Trust her recommendations, she always delivers a great dish everytime.
This place has history, 40+ years, and Class, you saw the capital C. Sue does everything, and she does it well. I wish that she could be secure enough to continue her wizardry with basil chicken by having help on the floor. It's just about the best Thai food in the area; the dining room is beautiful with great woodwork details and the plants she tends. It may not be a hot spot for the Wrigleyville crowd, but it's well served by public transport the #22 Clark bus (Roscoe stop) or Brown line (Belmont stop), and it's well worth the trip. Have the pot stickers and ground basil chicken, ot will clear your sinuses and elate your papillae.

Food is great and I love the coconut chicken soup 🥰
Food was great and super friendly service.
Woman who works front counter is so friendly and kind, really talkative and wants to engage with customers. Please update your working outs. This is the third time I try to visit on the open hour that is show BOTH on Google and your door. And the restaurant is closed. Very disappointed, I will not make another attempt.
This place is such a gem. The owner runs it all by herself and has been for over 40 years! The food was the best Thai I’ve ever had and definitely one of my favorite meals in Chicago. Because it is just one woman it is not a speedy experience but it is SO worth it. The taro cake is a can’t miss and the pad se ew is divine. I bring all my out of town friends here.
We had a nice dinner at this place. The Thai fried rice with vegetables was delicious. The owner of this small restaurant was very kind and polite. We’ll sure come back.
Incredibly good pad thai. Sweet, savory, everything i love about it. The owner was also really nice and good service.
delicious flavor and nice service
¡¡¡Do not order online!!! Website will take your money and restaurant will not receive your order. Woman working there will not cooperate or offer any help. You will not receive your food if you order online!
Highly recommend coming here for some Thai. Food is very delicious fresh and home cooked! We got the chive dumplings, panang curry, & pad woon sen, all very good. The service is wonderful and personal, the owner serves you and is so nice and hospitable. I love the immersive interior design. I will definitely be back!! Cant wait to try other menu items!
Possibly understaffed, but extremely poor service. One table that had been waiting forever simply just walked out. Food constantly being brought to wrong tables, one other table waiting 30 minutes just for the check, and we waited almost two hours for our food which was not brought out at the same time. The waiter was definitely new so it might have been a fluke.
Food is fine, menu was fine, but really not happy about losing time while visiting Chicago for the weekend.
This is genuinely a five star restaurant. The woman who works here is so sweet and cooks everything herself. The green curry was the best I’ve had. Give it a try you won’t regret it.
The woman who runs it is so kind and the food is amazing its a kinda weird place but you wont regret it
Best Thai food in Chicago.
The food was amazing and the owner/chef is delightful! (Be careful with spice levels)
We ordered delivery and called ahead to see if there were vegan items available and the woman I spoke with was great! She was very helpful and even called me back when I ordered something that wasn't vegan and switched my order for me to a special item she made--taro bean fritter--that was delicious! Everything was delicious and I've had non vegan friends say the same. I highly recommend this place! The food is excellent and the service is the best!!
Not only is the food fantastic, but the interior is beautiful and the service is wonderful and kind. Probably the best Thai restaurant in Chicago
Incredible food and hospitality!
Literally the sweetest woman doing absolutely everything. Yes if you don’t need to be somewhere fast it’s perfect. I’m gonna go back just to get tea and read honestly
Su the owner is amazing! Best thai in Chicago.
Whether or not you will like this place is totally based on your personal taste. This is a small, mom and pop type place ran by the owner/chef. The food is good and homemade taste but the service is slow because it’s really only one or two people running the whole thing. The owner was nice and talked to me and recommended I get a certain dish. I can totally see how that would irritate some people who have their mind set on what they want, but it was fine with me. However, once other people came in it took forever for me to get my bill and leave even though I had been done for quite some time. In my opinion, the food is good if you have the time and patience. But if you need something fast, go elsewhere.
The BEST Thai! Eating here was like having a delicious, friendly and thoughtful dinner hosted by family in a cozy dining room. Sue and her sister create amazing dishes. Our daughter wasn't feeling well and is a picky eater on a good day, so Sue brought out some yummy noodles to enjoy. Cannot say enough about how delicious Panang Shrimp was. Sue is a wonderful host, will definitely return! BYO as well.
I really love eating here. Is authentic and all the ingredients are so fresh. The owner is a sweetheart. Highly recommend it.
My choices were as I expected .
The woman serving our food gave me EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
The owner and her sister are incredible people that make these dishes with such love and care. It reminds you of homemade food made by your mom or grandma and the flavors are truly out of this world. The Tom Kha was the best I’ve ever had and the basil chicken was to die for. It’s so nice to hear about how long Thai business has been alive and serving families and the community. I will be coming back over and over again.
Very tasty food served up by the owner and her sister: Delicious and delicately spiced curry, fresh steamed veggies, crispy spring rolls - all yummy. The food here is a cut above many of the Thai restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago. I’ll be back.
A prior reviewer I see did not like the decor. The friend I went with also thought the restaurant looked like something out of the 1980s with the old wooden wall panels. He thought young people would be fussy about the decor and that if the place painted the wood panels white more customers would come. Maybe he was right. I actually thought the old wooden look made the restaurant feel cozy, like sitting in someone's living room. The owner who is a cook and her sister, who was cooking this evening, actually served me. She informed me they had been running this restaurant for 40 years. Reason enough to visit it. The food, incidentally, was delicious. Prior reviewer said he waited an hour before the food came. We waited only 15 minutes, not long at all. I ordered the yellow curry with tofu. I could not believe how tasty that curry was, so tasty with a mild warm spicy buzz in one's stomach. My friend who also ordered a curry found it one of the best he had eaten in a long time. We will for sure return. Family feel, delicious food, you can't beat that! Everyone in the area or on the north side should go at least once to find out what amazing food they have.
so good! we ate here the day before Thanksgiving. only one person was working the whole restaurant so the service was slow, but it was all made fresh from scratch and it was soooo good! i had the khao soy and it was delicious. lovely place with excellent food, highly recommended!!
Authentic, delicious food made by a genuine, hospitable chef and owner (Sue). This place has been open for decades and there's a reason the reviews are outstanding
Recently, Sue made the decision to only utilize the back section of the dining room as it's closer to the kitchen and phone becaue after years of running such a well-loved, successful business, it's begun to take a toll on her ability to easily walk the entire length of the restaurant over and over again
Because of this, the front section is closed off and from the front windows you would think the restaurant is closed/under rennovations. THEY'RE OPEN
My boyfriend and I visited on a slow Sunday evening. The pad see ew was so perfectly spicy at a level 3 (typically I'd go for a 4 but Sue warned me and I'm glad she did!) and my boyfriend loved his red corn curry, even spicy at a level 2!
Sue was so welcoming and it was beautiful to hear so many stories about her experience with the restaurant and thoughts of retirement on the horizon (she wants someone to take over the business if you know anyone looking!) She takes such good care of her guests and it's clear to see how much she loves making these delectible dishes from scratch
I can't stop thinking about how perfect the food was, how sweet Sue was, and how comforting the experience was, cannot wait to go back
We had an amazing time here. The food was excellent and the owner was incredibly sweet. It felt she was serving us dinner from her home. Can’t wait to eat there again!
If you’re looking for authentic Thai food… this place is for you. Great flavor and Sue is the best!!!
So cute and unique- I felt like I was at home. Went with my family. Great service and very good food.
Just tried this for the first time. I have tried a lot of pad Thai in chicago and this place makes it best! Authentic and the owner is the kindest person who will put effort into every meal. Highly recommend!
Authentic Thai kitchen with everything cooked from scratch at order.
Food is delicious, but do not be in a hurry
Delicious food, friendly service, unique Thai atmosphere. Felt like we were enjoying a home cooked meal in the home of a friend. Definitely will be back for more!
If you ever want a Thai grandma with authentic and delicious Thai food and friendly ambiance, this is your place! My friend and I enjoyed delicious food and chatted with the owner, who was super friendly and she did it all - taking our orders, telling us stories and cooking the food.
I really enjoyed eating here! The food was delicious, it tasted so fresh and more flavorful than any Thai food I'd had before. I also like that you can customize the spice levels. I recommend the pad thai, egg rolls, and panang curry. The owner was also super friendly!
Mrs Su was incredible during our visit. The food was delicious. She makes you feel at home with her warming and attentive service. We had the satay, kheemao noodles and yellow curry spicy level 3. Believe her when she says that it’s quite spicy because we were sweating and with the fan on during our whole meal. Definitely coming back to this lovely restaurant.
Came here for dinner before a show at the Newport. The owner was so friendly and took excellent care of us, and the food was so good! We got the Panang curry and khowsoy noodles - both were delicious! Highly recommended!
This place was awesome. It's just one incredibly kind lady making incredibly delicious food. My partner and I grabbed lunch here accidentally, but we will definitely be back. It honestly felt like being welcomed into someone's home and cooked a homemade meal. Food was delicious and surprisingly fast considering she's doing it all by herself!
Sue the owner is so sweet. And what great food!!
The food was authentic and delicious, but what made the experience even greater was the atmosphere and service. Sue (the owner) was so nice and attentive, and I loved that it felt like a nice homemade meal! I’ll be coming back for sure!
The Pad See Ew was delicious. Asked for medium spicy and it was perfect. I also liked the Tom Yum soup.
Decor needs to be changed. We went here on Pride Day. The decor is so out of date but whatever. We sat down at 3:46pm and didn’t get our food until 4:54pm so 1hr and 8mins before we actually got to eat. They had 1 cook and 1 dishwasher back there. After 50mins we saw a third person in the kitchen but I think it was one of those situations where the “head cook” wanted to do it all by herself which caused everyone to wait an incredibly long time for their food. If the food wasn’t so good I’d give 1 star. I ordered Pad See Ew noodles with chicken and a Thai Tea it was delicious. The Thai Tea was ok I think the ratio of tea and milk was off but the noodles were really good. I would return but only to get takeout.
Sue, the owner, is incredibly nice. The atmosphere is very cozy. The food was absolutely delicious, we had the Chicken Panang Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. I highly recommend coming here.
Very very good restaurant with very very kind people. Wouldn't say this if it wasn't true. You have to come see for
yourself. Amazing people. Nice great staff and food quality was outstanding.
Delicious food and such nice people. Went fir lunch with my friend and the food was no only very good but the waitress went out of her way to talk talk to us and make conversation.
🔴 -- This place used to be very good many years ago.
Operated by young energetic waitress & Waiters.
Then after those great servers were gone because of bad managements. Now some old aunties run the place down to the ground. A basic Pud-SeeEwe is horrible misused of soy sauces and old broccoli instead of Chinese Broccoli or Kana. Every dishes are very poor quality from 2 Aunties kitchen. We are the only table in the restaurant …. No wonder why …!!!
.. Hopefully some knowledgeable take over this place and bring it to life like many years ago…. 🔴
…
Neighborly service, awesome interior decor, great food
Cannot beat this place!
The tai noodles were very good, but the dining experience was one of the worst I ever had. The owner tries to come over to your table and make small talk with you, and she ended up offending me during conversation when I told her I didn’t want to try some fish appetizer she was offering me. She stated “ if it was fried chicken then I would want it” Then she stated that she knew my date was from South India because of her skin tone. I would’ve simply walked out of the restaurant after all of these insults but my date didn’t want to stir up any drama after we already ordered. On top of that, when our egg rolls came up to our table, she stood over my plate and cut my egg roll in half with my fork. Never in my life have I ever been to a restaurant where the owner cuts mother customers food for them. I don’t start issues with people, I simply wanted to enjoy a meal with my date, but some people really don’t know how to communicate with people from other races and ethnicities. Did you know that you can have a simple conversation with someone and not bring up race at all? Simply wasn’t necessary in my opinion. Me and my date felt very disrespected and uncomfortable. I probably won’t ever eat there again despite the good Tai noodles because I value my money enough not sit in an establishment and be disrespected especially when I did nothing but exist. The owner needs a complete lesson on customer service. You can’t disrespect someone into trying your food. I don’t understand
The owner is very kind and runs a beautiful restaurant with delicious food!
Went here with a large group of 8 for dinner. We had the place to ourselves on a Saturday night, and the waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone loved the food - some got the level 2 spice, which is NO JOKE but was great!
Really good food and tea. I arrived starving and the owner let me order close to their closing time, very nice conversation and extremely nice atmosphere. Certainly coming back, eat here! Don't go to the below average places adjacent to this amazing restaurant. Don't eat a sandwich, eat proper food here! Ginger teas was so good too!
The food is delicious and the owner of the restaurant, Sue, is one of the sweetest people I met during my trip to Chicago. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell she puts a lot of love and attention into her dishes. I’d definitely go back!!
We were walking on the street and randomly saw this restaurant and didn’t know what to expect… it was AMAZING! I only got the yellow curry and the spring rolls but it was so delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try different dishes!
Stopped in after a Cubs game and found the best Thai food ever. The amazing fresh made food was complimented by the attentiveness of the owner who puts her heart into both food and service. One of the highlights of our weekend trip to Chicago.
Love..here
They have the best khow soy I've ever had in my life 😍
This Thai food is delicious! As someone whose half Thai and from California, sometimes it is so difficult to find good solid not Americanize Thai food in the Midwest. And this is the closest I’ve found! On top of that, the woman who helped us (I’m presuming the owner) was incredibly kind to us and we will be coming back often!
Really enjoyed my meal here! I asked the owner Sue for a rec and she delivered!
Don't post often, but when I do, it's about great places. Owner was very personable and attentive and inquired of our palates and made specialty Thai dishes. Flavorful and authentic tastes that brought me back to my travels in asia. Highly recommended! I will be making the trek from Chinatown to go back over and again.
An intricately done up restaurant, the ambience is lovely in a homely way. Service here is a bit slow but it's an elderly lady running the show so kudos to her energy!
We ordered the taro cakes and they tasted pretty good but I suspect the oil used to fry them wasn't fresh. Some of them were burnt around the edges.
The Thai iced tea is overpriced for just sugar syrup with milk - too sweet and not balanced, could barely taste the flavour of tea. Requested for more tea flavour but was told that's just how it comes.
The eggplant and tofu was delicious. Very well made but the portion of rice served with it was ridiculously small.
I would recommend double checking your bill to see if the numbers add up, we were charged extra - we pointed it out and it was recitified.
Great service, great food, every time. We love going back to PSB!!!!
If you can, dine-in here! Su, the owner, is a very sweet lady and has great recommendations if you want to venture outside of the typical red/green curry & pad Thai orders. Of course, those are also incredible dishes as well. I recommend the sweet corn and taro root cakes for apps. She told me today that the cost of ingredients is increasing for her so please don’t be turned away by the prices. Everything I have had here has been phenomenal. Portion sizes are great too, just enough for a meal and a little leftover for later
Amazing food and very friendly service. Don’t be fooled by the sometimes empty dining room. This place is great.
The food is freshly made and delicious, and the owners are wonderful
Been coming here for years. The food taste great. I love the penang cury with chicken and partner gets the pad see ew with tofu.
Highly recommend PS Bangkok! Incredibly fresh, affordable, and tastes homemade. The item in the first pic was the table favorite. We weren’t able to remember the name of, but if you show Sue (owner and chef) this picture she’ll know! Other items were ordered were the drunken shrimp & chicken, green and yellow curry, taro cake, and crab wontons! 10/10 recommend EVERYTHING.
Delicious Thai food. Tasted more authentic than normal Thai chains. Su, the owner is a very warm and nice person. You can go by her recommendations while ordering. Taro root cake and Fish cakes are really yummy appetizers. Don't judge by the empty look of the restaurant.
Amazing, from scratch food (I had the yellow Curry). The owner is the sweetest lady on the planet.
Great owner, great food and portions at great prices! Support this business!
My absolute favorite Thai place in Lakeview. The food is always amazing and the staff is so friendly. Try the crispy chive cake fitter if you want a life changing experience.
Absolutely the best yellow curry I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!
Best Thai restaurant in Wrigleyville/Lakeview area. Don’t go to any other Thai restaurant in Wrigleyville—this place is by far the most authentic Thai. No other place comes close. Go here if you want delicious food and a friendly staff!
Amazing service and delicious food. Went there twice in two days! I recommend getting the Khao Soi
Great food. Really nice lady as well.
Such great food! The chef was so sweet and talented. Will definitely go back!
Delicious, authentic food! The owner is super nice and a talented chef. Recommend the pot stickers... They're made in-house!
Food was great. I had the spices seafood plate. Plenty of food too. The manager waited on us and she was so kind and delightful.
Utmost disgusting food I’ve ever eaten. My wife and I both got sick shortly after. Both only had a few bites because the dishes were just gross and old. Horrible experience. Chicago inspection should pay this place a visit.
The most delicious Massaman curry! Very inviting and accomodating owner...hard to find service like this these days. Please support them.
Amazed with the carry-out. Food was still delicious by the time I walked home. Owners are nice and pour their heart into their restaurant.
The owner is so sweet and incredible, always gives extra food and the food is awesome.
The best Thai restaurant in Chicago. Serving Chicago's Boystown, Lakeview, & Wrigleyville since 1983. They've lasted decades for good reason. The owner, Sue, & her sister still run this place like they did in their 20s. My go to PS Bangkok order is a Chive Dumpling appetizer with a Gwey Teo Noodle soup. The Khao Soy is exquisite as well as the Pad See Ew with crunchy noodle option for the main entree. For dessert their Mango Sticky Rice is to die for, when in season. Make sure to order a Singha or Chang Thai beer to cool the burn.
This was our favorite Thai food restaurant. We hadn't been there for a while, so we decided to order pick up for dinner. What a disappointment. The Pad Thai tasted like they used reheated, old stale noodles as well as old oil. It tasted nothing like what we remembered. It vaguely resembled Pad Thai at all. The Pad see ewe was bad as well tasting a few days old. I don't write reviews at all, but I had to write this one because of how bad it tasted.
This have been my fav Thai place in all of Chicago since the 1990. Always reasonable, amazing food and a wonderful darling owner! Please continue to support this amazing family owned place!!!
The food was fantastic and the owners are wonderful! Will definitely be ordering from here again!
If you have somewhere to be after your meal, allow extra time. That being said, the food here is AMAZING and vegan friendly and the woman I spoke with was so kind and gracious. I will be coming back here as often as I can! Such a great experience.
I love the open and friendly atmosphere. I always enjoy my food and recommended choices by the staff.
If you're in for savory Thai noodles, Thai curry, or any Thai themed foods this is the spot. Spicyness is done decently.
My boss recommended this place and my goodness this place is Michelin star good. Speaking of they were recognized by Michelin as a top tier restaurant in the wrigleyville neighborhood. Definitely a treat to come visit
Good food, and the owner is super polite and friendly!
The khao soi was incredible. I asked the owner for a surprise and that's what she gave me.
Food was not good, meat was low quality, really overpriced, and really small volume (half a chicken on the menu turned out to be half a chicken breast at best). would recommend literally any other place.
Very nice place, the lady was very nice to me and my girlfriend the whole night. The food was pretty good. My favorite food that I ate tonight though here was a chicken satay appetizer.
Food is not really good.
Tom Yum was extremely sour. Rica & vegetable was so-so. Seafood no salt -no sauce.
Service is extremely slow. And it was just 3 of us and 1 more table.
Not recommend to other!!!!
Outstanding food, very authentic and delicious. Everything was cooked from scratch. Wonderful conversation a nice atmosphere. Great experience...thank you
The owner is the nicest lady. I got the pad Thai and it was amazing, some of the best I’ve had. I highly recommend and the atmosphere is nice
Food is amazing and the server is so sweet.... I’ve been to 20 other Thai places and this one is the best! Highly recommended
Not the place I will ever go back
Quiet restaurant that makes really fantastic and flavorful food at a very reasonable price considering the area. It's run by a very amicable lady and their service makes it a pleasure to dine there!
Great food, fantastic service, for a moderate price.
Food:
Appetizers - The Knomjeeb (Shumai) has fresh, flavorful shrimp in it, and Spicy Eggrolls are delicious, and Huge!
To Drink - can't go wrong with a sweet and refreshing Thai Iced Tea, perfect for keeping cool through any spicy bites!
Entrees - I love Pad Thai, it's my go-to at every Thai restaurant, so I've seen it all. P.S. Bangkok's Pad Thai was great because of the quality ingredients, large portion, and best of all, they provide the spice on the side so you can add as much as you want, perfect for Anyone, from spice-addicts to people who want to enjoy Pad Thai but aren't big fans of spice. I loved it.
The Stir-fried Seafood Curry is on a whole other level. The perfect combination if seafood mixed with a mildly spicy curry, basil and pepper, with a side of perfectly steamed, sticky white rice. This was served in a beautiful flower-designed arrangment, in a portion large enough for two to split.
Save room for dessert! The fresh fruits and sweet, milky rice are absolutely worth it!
Service:
Phenomenal. The server took such great care of us! They were friendly, helpful, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I love them! The food came in short amounts of time, and the ambience of the restaurant is so comfortable yet elegant, I was stunned.
Price:
Very affordable. The quality of this food is on par with the fanciest restaurants you can find, but the pricing is easily half of what you'd pay elsewhere. The service is perfect, and leaves nothing wanting. Basically, the best bang for your buck you can hope to find.
I grew up in Thailand. If you’re looking for authentic Thai, this is the place.
love
A nice local spot with a nice change from all the burger and pizza joints in the area. They offer a good selection of meals and appetizers, beers, and service was very friendly.
Amazing.
Food was delicious. I can’t get over how friendly they were! Felt like I was eating at my grandparents. The owners were so sweet to us and our son. We all left with smiles. Will definitely be going back!
The women running the restaurant were very nice, but this is some of the worst Thai food I've ever had. My green curry had a strange smell as soon as I opened it and the chicken had a weird look. After one bite, of watery curry I regretted my order. I tried to eat it but ended up throwing the entire dish away. The fried tofu appetizer had a very strange consistency and tasted like it had been fried in really old oil. That was also quickly thrown away. The quality of the meat, taste, and freshness were all really questionable. Try another place if you're craving Thai.
Had an amazing and delicious first time here. Great ambience and super friendly owner. Loved the view of the sunset over the L. Going back already tonight!
High quality. Unique items and fairly priced.
Green curry was LEGIT.
Absolutely amazing!!!! One of the best Thai places I have ever been. All meals made from scratch. If you want thai this is the place to go.
When was the last time you ate dinner at your grandma's house? She cooked for you, brought it to the table, and wanted to do everything she could to make sure you enjoyed her work. This experience comes pretty damn close. The food was authentic and outstanding. The presentation mattered to the staff, and the server was attentive and offered suggestions for us along the way. The atmosphere was classic, and really made the evening feel like we were not in Chicago (in a good way!). I noticed the server pause to ensure we enjoyed the first bite before walking too far away, and our reaction was genuine to the great flavors. She seemed to get a lot of joy from the work she does. Please go and enjoy their passion with them.
Amazing authentic Thai food, love it!
Don't be scared off if it's empty, it's really good!
Had such a delicious meal here. Super authentic Thai food. It is run by two sisters, and food is homemade so it’s not the best place to go if you’re in a big hurry. Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Try the tarot root fritters—so yummy. Of the 3 dishes we ordered, all were fantastic with the Pad See Won being my favorite. Don’t be deterred by an empty restaurant, we almost were but were so glad we stayed!
If you love authentic Thai, definitely try this place! Quality/flavor of their food is outstanding, and it is beautifully presented. We were waited on one of the owners, who was extremely gracious, offering us a lovely item off the menu because they weren't very busy at the moment (I can't fathom why not). Art prints, sculpture, and other decor added to the Thai ambiance. Thoroughly enjoyable!
I wish more people could know how amazing this place is, the owner and her sister are the kindest individuals I have ever known. Words can't tell how amazing the food was
This place is great!! The spicy pepper egg rolls especially. Ms Sue is a sweetheart and takes really good care of her customers. Definitely give this place a try!
Best Thai. No joke about the spice levels.
The food was delicious!!!! You can tell everything was made from scratch. Definitely will be going back.
Food & service was excellent & reasonably priced.
Food and service were great. Careful how spicey you ask for. I am from out of town and come to Chicago once a year and P. S. Bangkok will be a go to when in town.
I’ve come here many times, and these many times I’ve had decent service. Thanks
Best Thai food I have ever tried! Everyone is so nice and the best thing is that the food has a lot of taste!
Panang curry is a must try and also the corn cakes and the chicken saytay!
Hands down best authentic Thai in Chicago 💜
Good food but took over an hour to get it.
We came here because my partner remembered this was her first taste of Thai food when her class came on a field trip 20 years ago. The food is delicious! I was feeling adventurous so I told the owner what I like and don't like and asked her to surprise me. I highly suggest you try that. She really knew how to pick out something I wouldn't have tried for myself but that would really make me happy. She has a whole menu and program for large groups; teachers, you can call ahead and bring a group up to a hundred if you're going to a local museum. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like it's often crowded, which is a real shame for such good food and great service!
The dish I had was below average, greasy and sour. Not impressed. Don’t recommend.
Tremendous, unapologetically original Thai dishes. Enthusiastic owner clearly cares about the food she serves
Best Thai food period
If you are looking for high quality authentic tasting Thai food, this is the best in Chicago. I've tried ten other places in the city and this is the best one. Be careful choosing the spiciness level. The spice scale is 1 to 5 and a 2 here is like a 5 everywhere else. I would recommend getting a one the first time you go and then guage what level you want when you go back to try something else. And I promise the quality will merit a second visit.
Very cute place, good food and kind service..
The fresh spring rolls were kinda disappointing but the rest was great.
We where just there today on 8/13/17 Sunday after Market Days in Chicago and the food was very good. Excellent service and the owner was very helpful towards the menu and any questions we might have. Where thinking of going back and try other food in the menu. Recommend to other people. 👍😋
Outstanding tasty thaï food, great family hosts
Love this place! Friendly staff and Great service. Authentic Thai food, my favorite is the Lotus Blossom Curry if you enjoy seafood
