Warm, traditional wood-hued eatery offering Thai standards such as noodles & curries.
Excellent Pad Thai. Ordered via Uber Eats and the delivery was pretty fast, and the food was still hot when it arrived. The sauce was pretty good, but the noodles are where this place shines! They were cooked just right and soft, which is hard to get with a delivery.
If you're in the area, I suggest giving this place a try. I will order again when I'm in the area.
This was the worst thai/vietnamese food I've ever had. I don't usually leave such low stars but this was borderline inedible. You'd think with pho in the name their pho would at least be okay.
Pho: tasted like dirty spicy water, that's it. Had 2 small shreds of hard beef and no other flavors, just spicy water. Someone else posted something similar about this and I didn't believe them but it's true.
Panang curry: the sauce tastes like just peanut butter and water. It's too thick and coats your mouth and throat and it's very sweet for some reason, even though I ordered it hot.
Pad see ew: dry noodles with no flavor. Noodles all stuck together
Egg rolls: little sticks of grease.
I felt sick after eating, which never happens to me with thai food or pho.
The best spicy Thai food I have ever had. I usually like my food as spicy as i can get it, but the waitress wisley warned me off of that this time. I ordered two levels below the maximum spice, and it was still CRAZY HOT! but not just burning kill you hot, it also had some amazing flavor to it.
I searched for pho for pickup on a cold night, hoping for a well-balanced, complex broth with fresh ingredients. What I found instead was basically a ghost kitchen, not a restaurant like what's pictured online. But still, I was hopeful. Unfortunately, this soup was abundantly disappointing. The broth was nothing like every other pho broth I've had, the basil was sparse, the single lime wedge was thin and the tofu was barely cooked. The flavor was really lacking and I had to add a bunch of salt and lime at home. There were also no jalapeno slices and I've never been served a pho without them. I'm sorry to say the soup was bad 😔
I don't know what happened to this place but I ordered delivery tonight and everything is way different than I remember and not good at all. Dumplings didn't taste of anything and had awful texture, crab rangoon had no filling and the shrimp shumai were really fishy. I couldn't bring myself to finish anything.
UPDATE: I got food poisoning
It pains me to say that after ordering from this restaurant literally hundreds of times at two different locations for the past 10+ years, we are done. The restaurant is not the same since they closed the Western Ave. location and moved to the “digital food court.” The food is still pretty close in quality, but you can never tell when (or if) your food will ever arrive. After three very delayed orders in the past few months, our order today was canceled after waiting 45 minutes. Never again.

It's a ghost kitchen
How you send out a delivery order without forks?
Curries are unique and flavorful
The Pho was so bland and had little meat. Ordered through Uber because the usual place I order from was closed. Next time I'll just be patient.
Chicken satay was dry and overcooked. The cucumber salad had no sweetness to compat heat from noodles. The peanut sauce was to thick and not peanuty

No restaurant there

no fresh food no utensils napkins 😭😭😭
Used to be a favorite. After relocating to Spaulding, Pho’s have outsourced delivery to doordash. So instead of the Thai food I ordered, I got Hawaiian chicken delivered from some other restaurant…
Great spicy Thai dishes. The pad see ew and Penang curry are both awesome… But… the worst crab Rangoon I’ve ever had 😂 No filling, not good wrapping. They are cheap and part of a promotion— but I would pay full price to have decent ones. Also the potstickers are fried hard and I’ve heard bad things about the shumai. Stick to noodles and sauce and you will be fine. I’d do 5 stars but cannot with such bad crab Rangoon. It’s kind of like a sports bar with terrible chicken wings— you wouldn’t really be able to give it 5 stars for the food
My favorite spot so far. My husband and I call it Little Thai, because the restaurant itself is tiny, but the food is SO good. Best tasting cuisine I’ve had so far. Never disappoints.
I ordered delivery and everything was amazing. My new favorite Thai restaurant. We joked about ordering again the next night and then we actually did! Highly recommend!
The Pad see ew is outstanding! I ordered for delivery and it was on time. The vegetable potstickers were very well done, borderline burnt. I didn’t finish them. All in all, I highly recommend

While Pho's is reasonably priced, we were disappointed with our selected food choices. The red curry and pad thai were excessively sweet, to the point where I wondered if it was an attempt to compensate for the intense heat level (we ordered medium). The nong thong and pot stickers were overly fried and flavorless. The only decent food item was the crab rangoon, which is actually of American origin.
Terribly spicy even though we ordered medium spice level. The chicken wings were fully burnt and pot stickers were absolutely distasteful. Pad Thai was tasty but as soon as we started to enjoy the flavors, the heat bombarded our systems. Not recommending at all!
Small place. Nice food. Good value gor money. Spicy as the name indicates. What ever level of spice you can tolerate, go couple of levels down.
Sad to report that the beef pho I ordered tasted so incredibly bad like dirty socks. The noodles didn’t taste cooked, no flavor in the broth and they left out sauces! Had to get a refund via Uber because I couldn’t imagine paying for food that was unedible that could make you sick!
Update: Not sure why but got the basil fried rice and spicy level hot but the rice tasted so sweet. Maybe it was the amount of carrots in it, but sweet rice was not what I was going for.
I really like the food and glad there are vegetarian options. I orderes directly from the site for the first time instead of doordash. Didn't know the fried rice had eggs in it as the site doesn't show the i ingredients. No spot to put no eggs either so had to toss both fried rice I picked up. I'll just stick to ordering on doordash next time.
Love this place. Very affordable and delicious. Really good basil fried rice , bad Thai, chicken satay and rangoons.
bland, flavorless pho. thoroughly disappointed. wish i could turn back time to before i ate it. i have pink eye and this only exacerbated my suffering.
Only place we go for Thai food in Lincoln Square. My wife and I found them on a walk and now it's a MUST EAT for us. Everything is great - particularly the panang curry. Be wary though - the "spicier" in their name is accurate.
Great food and vegetarian options!!
Delicious and SPICY!
Extremely disappointing really underwhelming pho :( the mild was also ridiculously spicy, too much so - it was all so bland besides that, will not order from here again.
Amazing Pad See Ew noodles & pho. I love how they offer a spice level that is customizable since I love spicy food!
I have been in Chicago for two years. This is the best thai I have had thank you!!! Shoutout to reddit for showing me this gem.
I’m a Thai fanatic, it’s my favorite cuisine. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants no joke and I try and eat it in all cities I visit. My go-tos are the curries (typically red and green) and these guys knock it out of the park. I also love spice and while most places don’t give you much scale this place allows you to go very mild all the way to very spicy which I enjoy. I repeatedly order from this place.
Love this place. We order food from here at least once a week. My husband and son love the beef pad thai, and I’m obsessed with the panang curry. The spice levels are no joke, which I LOVE, but be warned-if you have a sensitive stomach it’s best to order mild.
Just ordered delivery from here through uber eats last night. They warn you that their hot is hot. Believe them. I knew I ordered it hot, and I knew it was going to be hotter than your average hot. It's hot, like HOT HOT. The food was super tasty. I got the panang curry. Great flavor, but I'll definitely order it medium hot in the future. My wife got the fried rice mild. The fried rice also tasted great. Their crab rangoon was a little disappointing. They're small. I've grown accustomed to big crab rangoon. I've read that the egg rolls were good, so I'll probably get that next time.
Drove 2 hours for to go only. Had places to sit and eat however they dont want anyone to eat it. Please change take dine in part away.
Thai style pho was so good today. Hot, minty, spicy!!!!
Our go to Thai spot 💕
Our favorite Thai spot. Great food, great price. Keep up the good work!
The pho isnt authentic or good
This place is a gem that has the courage to add a normal spice level for those of us that are tired of the dumbed down Thai flavors in the city of Chicago.. big shout out to this place! The rice soup meal is perfect any time you are starting to feel like you have cold or flu.. I’m addicted to it.... Note::: If you don’t like spicy food.. why are you ordering Thai? If all you ever order is pad Thai and crab Rangoon, don’t leave poor reviews that will effect someone’s business. It’s because of ppl like this that Thai food in Chicago is changing its flavors to be bland.. stop it. You’re ruining it for the rest of us.
Really cheap. Really good.
What a cozy, sweet place! The prices are insanely low compared to the quality of food you get! Dang!! I’d pay twice the amount charged. It’s quite a small and narrow restaurant so don’t be surprised if you bump into seated customers on your way to order. But goodness is the atmosphere sweet and the employees make you feel so welcome!
Most uncomfortable dining experience of my life. Too bad because the location on Lincoln near Belmont is very warm and inviting. The lead server/order taker is obviously on high guard against COVID-19, though only with people who do not work at the restaurant (she was the only one wearing a mask).
I understand precautions, but this is far beyond that.
Stopping the ambient music while we were eating and not allowing my wife to use the women's bathroom was a nice touch to make things more uncomfortable.
It was the worst dish.
The beef as well as the vegetables were old (leftover)…tastes terrible
Save your money and don’t be fooled by their misleading discount on uber eats. The noodles were so over cooked. The broth has no flavor, barely any meat. But if you like bean sprouts there’s two containers full of it.
Very spicy. Great flavor.
No gluten free assistance...but worth chancing it.
Edit: Tony sold the place. I haven't tried the new location yet.
Thai spice use to be the best Thai restaurant in Chicago
Very good. So satisfying to get actual “hot” food when i order hot food
Our favorite Thai place. Best Panang curry!
I placed an order for delivery and they gave my food to another person picking up food. When I asked if they were going to replace my order and deliver, they said no.
Just ordered delivery from here a short time ago. Excellent Pad Thai, well- packaged, large portion, well- priced. Very good!
Our go to Thai place. The food is great quality and you can’t beat the price. My toddler loves the mild Pad Se Ew with chicken. The Tom Ka soup is also absolutely delicious.
Note: delivery services up charge the food even on pick up orders. I call the restaurant directly and they usually have the food ready in 15 min.
Overcooked chicken satay .. also my beef pad see ew was horrible.. I would stay clear of this location and the food..
Apparently all of the curry dishes are made with peanut butter....I'd rather not eat Rama when I ordered Panang.
Great food and service
Doesn't accept online orders and more than one occasion they simply don't answer the phone. Still tasty, but a pain to order from.
Hands down, worst Thai food I've ever had!
They seem to be lacking flavor from any of their dishes.
Awesome thai restaurant!!!
This is a solid spot to get delicious dine-in or delivery for a decent price. I like the pad thai, massaman curry, and red curry. Mild plus is already quite spicy so be aware before you upgrade to medium or higher! A lot of other Thai places in the area shy away from being too spicy - if you're in the mood for a dish packed with spice and flavor definitely stop by here!
I love this place. Always great food, regardless of what new dish I’m trying on the menu. Friendly staff and and great service.
Just orderd take out, and let me tell you... it was incredible! I was kinda expecting it to just be okay. But it was so good, hot, fresh, spicy! Im very happy, I definitely found my new go to!
This rating is not for the food!! There food is delicious!! But this rating for the lady in the reception she is so arrogant. she asked me my credit card detail on phone which now a days no one ask. When I was at restaurant she told she will not touch the credit card because she is practicing social distancing. This is fine if she had not touched my credit card 2 months back. 🤦 She is like my way or highway.
Good thai, generous portions and best of all, when I ask for "Thai spicy" I get Thai spicy. Only my second time ordering but this will be my new go to.
The best! Delicious food and large portions. Don't order your food spicy unless you really want it spicy! They mean it!
I cannot recommend Pho’s Spicier Thai enough. It’s my top favorite takeout option in Chicago right now. They have quick, excellent service (although to be honest we usually do pickup, which is very efficient and COVID safe.)
I have never been disappointed with the food quality- it’s always hot, reflects the spice level I ordered, and tastes wonderful. Be warned- spice is pretty high here, so if you order food and you worry about spice, I recommend ordering it COMPLETELY WITHOUT spice. (Usually when you order by phone, they ask if you’ve eaten there before so you’re aware of the spice level. Also...it literally has “spicier” in the name.)
My go-to is the pad see ew- full of vegetables AND meat, a really hearty portion, and at unbeatable prices. This is a place that has the best price-to-quality ratio that is clearly catering to customer loyalty- and it works. I have also had their pad prik and musman curry- both of which are equally as good as the pad see ew. They also have great appetizers and appetizer deals. Order here and I promise it’ll become your staple Thai takeout!
I like the pad khe mao (drunken noodles) a lot :)
Extremely spicy for my taste. Even though I ordered the lowest level of spiciness I couldn't finish my meal because the fire in throat and stomach was too hard to handle. Also, instead of tofu I got chicken in my pinapple fried rice, and for me as a vegeterian, this is a huge mistake.
Very tasty food, and it's affordable as well! Caution: food can be very spicy. Some of you might not be able to handle the spiciness!
Best thai so far. Delicious, fresh.
Nice tasty food. Ordered through grubhub. Pretty fresh
Go to Thai place.no matter how far we are
Love this place
I tried to order food via the website. The promotion they listed for ordering on the website was not applied, and they canceled my order and said they did not deliver to my address. I had ordered delivery to my apartment before though and was then able to get delivery via postmates. There was a duplicate order issue and I wanted their help with cancellation. They said that they had stopped making my food but that they couldn’t cancel my order, so I was still charged!
Every dish we ordered was great!!!
Five stars because staff is very nice and the food was fantastic. My new favorite local thai food spot that actually delivers on the spice!
Delicious and Spicy
Ordered on Uber eats on a Whim. Food was good, except for the upset stomach later. Maybe a fluke, maybe not.
Used to be good....
But over the past 6 months has gone downhill.
Bland and boring Pad Thai
Arrived quickly and was still hot. Very good, very spicy! They don’t play on their spice levels. Can’t wait to order again.
Great food, but sometimes there's a long wait.
Best around. Makes Spoon Thai taste like dog food.
I finally found a Thai restaurant in the city that actually makes my order truly spicy! I ordered the Pad Thai “Hot” and it is extremely hot. I might even go a level down next time. Great flavor, it’s my new favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago and I will be back for sure.
By far, the best Pad Thai and Shrimp Shumai I've had since I was studying abroad in Thailand! I highly recommend to anyone who wants a generous portion of food with excellent taste!
Get the Panang curry, mild+! We order it all the time and it is absolutely delicious. A little spicy even with it being mild but still so good! We just moved here and we are already frequent customers. Crab Rangoon is great too!
Waited for hour and a half. Order never showed
I love the food however, the lady on the phone is quite racist. Such a shame to see people still having prejudice towards other races! I will not be ordering here again.
I love Pho’s! It’s my go-to for Thai food or when I get home late and want to have something delivered. The food I’ve ordered has always been delicious, spicy, and hot, and the delivery is usually quite fast. I’ve ordered from GrubHub and have started ordering directly from the restaurant, and all of my experiences have been awesome.
Good food but poor customer service.
I love the Pad Thai and Lad Nar. Delicious!
We usually order through GrubHub, but yesterday we were around the area and decided to go in person for some Thai teas and some food. The Thai teas here are delicious and the food is pretty good for the price. Sure, it's not mind-blowing good, but the prices are great and the sizes are huge, you can easily split one meal between two people. Great late night place to get a bite, too. This is definitely our to-go when we don't feel like cooking, but want some real food
The food is not what it should be. I understand that every restaurant has a different style of cooking a certain dish, but I am extremelydispleased. I've ordered from there multiple times for different items and all were not quite authentic Thai food. I'm done!
Awful service. Do NOT go
Called 4 times and no answer. Went to the actual restaurant and called while inside. The phone rang and rang. I walked out. Bad customer service. Spend your money on businesses that care. Called yesterday evening, Oct 27 at 7:09, 7:11, 7:15, and 7:25. My number ends in 4598
Pho's Spicier Thai is amazing if you're a spicy food lover! I always get the extra hot and it's always amazing in any of their dishes!
They are also very vegan & vegetarian friendly and I have had zero problems with any of the food I've gotten from them.
Wow... walking distance from Loyola... and GREAT tasting food!
Ordered a lunch special and they individually charged me for everything doubling the price. When I asked about it, she just said “sorry” and made me pay. When I got home, they ordered me an extra appetizer that I didn’t order. Quantities were all wrong for orders. Just don’t come here I guess
At first I thought the food was amazing (I always order Pad Thai). However, they have terrible customer service. If you plan on eating their food please consider ordering take out. The waiter was super disrespectful to me and my friend the first time we were there. After that time, we came back about 2-3 more times to give them another “try” but the service got worse. The most recent time we went was about 2 weeks ago, and the waiter served us water in PLASTIC cups (yes, you read that right) while everyone else got glass cups. What the heck?! My friend also found a live black bug in the Pad Thai YUCK. I couldn’t continue eating after that. It’s hard for me to think that we were treated this way bc we are POC & minorities, but MAN they suck. Do NOT go to place expecting good service. Very disappointed bc I thought the food was good but after we found the bug, we will not be coming back again.
They are only open until 10 not midnight
Nice good food
Best place to get the spiciest tasty food
TL;DR - Excellent Customer Service and Tasty Food
I ordered from Grubhub and the delivery driver gave my food to someone in the lobby who claimed to be me (my neighbor stole my food). I contacted Grubhub to help and they were useless, so I reached out to the store directly as it was only 10 mins before they closed. The staff member who answered was apologetic and had my order remade and redelivered meaning the staff stayed at least 30 mins late to correct the mistake. I am appreciative of their commitment to their customers. Thanks!
Plus the food was delicious.
The customer service is really weak. The fried rice and pad see wee taste like trash. They put soya sauce too much. I recommend people who have high blood pressure to not go there, their food are all salty.
First off this is not authentic Thai/Vietnamese cuisine. The Red Curry Chicken had more carrots in it than anything else. The veggies were frozen and processed. The Tom Yum soup tastes like water and tomatoes. No flavor at all!!! They give you 3 shrimp in a small order. I have never ate Tom Yum soup with absolutely no flavor. The spiciness overwhelms the non existant flavor and I like spicy! Then to top it all off the food made me sick!! If you love yourself and great food DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!🤬🤬
The food was ok but the place was dirty :( order takeout its better
Stopped in on a whim before work and was completely surprised with how good the food was. I'll definitely be back very soon.
This sweet little thai restaurant had delicious curry and wonderful staff. Thanks!
Great food and price. Good for people that love spicy, and you can choose your heat level (for those less ambitious)
I've ordered from here on multiple occasions. Never dissatisfied, they get the order correct even with modifications. The musman curry is to die for and the portions are huge .
If you like your Thai spicier, this place does it!
They’re right. It’s spicy.
I like spicy food, but my partner can’t eat spicy food. On Postmates this is simply named Pho’s Thai Cuisine, there is no Spicier in the title on Postmates so we figured it would be a normal spice level. I decided to give it a try for delivery and specified that I needed my partner’s food to be mild. It was very spicy and she was unable to eat it. When we called them they insisted that we wanted it to be spicy, despite the fact that my receipt said “mild.” I could have understood if they just misread the order, but the woman on the phone was rude and insisted that we wanted it to be very spicy. We will not be back to a place that is so rude and unhelpful to customers.
อาหารไทยในชิคาโก รสชาติใช้ได้ครับ
I would love the opportunity to rate this restaurant a cool 5 STARS! HOWEVER, they refused to answer my call 5 minutes before the end of lunch (I needed 5 lunch items). When my call WAS answered, it was a voicemail with no pre-recorded message. At 3:00, an actual human lady answered and refused to accept my lunch menu orders...even after explaining their phone hell. What she didn't know is that I review LOTS of restaurants and wanted to give my neighborhood Thai place a good word. Ahhh...well!
Good food with an old school family business vibe.
Panang curry and pineapple fried rice are delish. Fast delivery. They charge extra for sauces.
It was okay
Be careful!!!! The medium is already extremely spicy. I ordered green curry which looked orange /red because there was so much pepper in there. I like spicy food but this is a bit much...stick to mild+ if you like heat. Fast delivery as well.
Soup
We always order off Grubhub! Food is always accurate and comes warm. The quality of the food is amazing! One of of favorite places to order and some of the best Thai around
Food is good, not great. Prices are low.
Yummmmmy food.. great service.. cheaper prices..
We ordered the spicy chicken salad and found raw chicken and it was already rubbery to begin with....good luck
Very cozy family run restaurant! The food is very tasty, the prices are good, and the staff is very nice. I would recommend the pad kee mao, the pad Thai, or the fried rice.
As others have noted, it's not as great as Thai Spice which was here before, but it's still a nice, decent neighborhood restaurant. Those who said it has high prices and slow service must have been referring to the old place. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices here and the portion sizes of the tasty food.
We ordered pad Thai, one with chicken, one with tofu, and requested mild+, which is the least spicy option. I am not sensitive to spice and usually enjoy it quite a bit, but this was so spicy it was inedible. You couldn’t taste anything but spice. Very disappointing.
Cozy , Flavorful I shall be back
Great food and great service!
Go to Thai food in the neighborhood. Know your spice level.
Really good stuff!
Green curry 😋😋😋😋😅😅😅😅
Good and spicy
Amazing bowl of beef pho, be careful of ordering anything with spice, even their medium is hot for a seasoned spice lover
Delivers on Spice
I have only experienced delivery from Pho's, and the experience has always been positive.
Personal favorites include; the fried vegetable gyoza, which always arrive perfectly golden brown and crispy, and the chicken pad Thai. The portion is very generous, and the noodles and chicken are perfectly prepared. I have learned that the mild peanut sauce still has a fair amount of spice to it, but not overwhelmingly so. The mild plus is also delicious, but a bit too much for me.
I have also tried the spring rolls, which were crisp and refreshing, and accompanied by a sweet tamarind sauce. Another dish that I have sampled quite a few times is the yellow curry, with tofu. The curry sauce is tasty, and packs serious heat.
Additionally, I suggest trying the Thai iced tea, which pairs nicely with many of these dishes.
It's spicy alright! Lovely staff make you feel comfortable.
Make sure you customize your food's spicy level - less spicy should be what you go for in case you're not sure.
They post your picture on their wall if you go for high spicy foods.
Food is delicious no matter how less or more spicy it is.
I had vegetarian dish - it was pretty delicious. They don't add fish oil or eggs or chicken if you don't want them to.
It's a well appointed place to enjoy some Thai. It was a great place to relax and enjoy some friendly service! This will leave you with a full and happy.
