I simply don’t understand how this place is rated 4.5. I ordered take out from here and they messed up my order( I ordered pork but they put in chicken).Besides that the food was horrendous. I couldn’t make it past the first bite. I also ordered a thai milk tea. It had a solid block of ice covering half of the cup with much more ice on top.

One plus point is their serving size. But considering the quality of their food, highly doubt anyone has ever finished it.

I loveeeeeeeee the food, it’s so goodddddd. I got a Thai iced tea, pineapple fried rice and a yellow curry both with chicken. 10/10 recommend, and the portions are huge so you have leftovers for later :)

I got the Massaman chicken and my husband got one of the noodle dishes - I think the basil one? I enjoyed mine and it was filling. Not the largest serving but I probably shouldn’t eat more than that anyway. The noodle dish was better than I was expecting and better than the massaman that I had!!

We will def be coming back here!

AMAZING FOOD and reasonably priced! Within walking distance from train station and staff is super friendly. Would definitely recommend the pad Thai (with extra spice if you’re into that) and/or the Tom Kha Kai (without meat if you’re vegetarian) if you’re into light soup with a little kick.

Easily the best chicken wings I have ever had. So precisely spiced and the most perfect crispy texture you always dreamed of. I couldn’t believe how amazing these wings were. Can’t wait to come back!

I had the pad see eiw, potstickers, and cucumber salad.

The cucumber salad was good—sweet and refreshing, but unremarkable. The pot stickers came from a package and that wasn't disguised well. The accompanying sauce was tangy and savory.

The pad see eiw was bland. I ordered it extra spicy. That was a mistake. A large handful of red pepper flakes were thrown in. It was spicy, but also grainy. There wasn't much flavor otherwise. Some of the noodles were in large sheets, as if they hadn't been cut properly. It make it a challenge to eat. The tofu and broccoli were cooked well.

This small, pleasant restaurant is small but mighty! The food, as well as the service, is excellent. I am never disappointed.

The pad thai is insanely good

Deliciousness! The crab Rangoon & wings were cooked to perfection. The sauce that accompanies both appetizers were so good. My favorite go to is the Lard nar chicken...that brown gravy and wide noodle is amazing. I have tried everything on the menu, highly recommend. Such a staple of Edgewater.

Hello to all who read this review. It pains my heart to leave this review. This restaurant use to be one of my favorites, but since the old owners are no longer running things I have to say that my recent visit was a waste of money. I ordered some soup and basil egg rolls and the egg rolls tasted like frozen food, the chicken inside of the rolls were very dry with no taste to it. I didn't taste the basil like I use to, I didn't finish it, I tossed it out. The soup was not like I'm accustomed to. Wasn't sour at all, wasn't spicy at all, and too many DAMN mushrooms in it!. I was furious and through all of it out. Stick a fork in me I'm done with Ben's noodles.

Every dish that I have tried here has been delicious. It is definitely one of my favorite places to get delicious, authentic Thai food.

Food is absolutely amazing. My family has been coming here since I was a kid and the food has not changed. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Oh did I mention the food is to die for? Beware of the area the business is in. Lot of junkies and nodders but other then that PLEASE COME AND TRY THIS PLACE.

We love Ben's! We are regular customers, usually go a few times every month. Have tried different things off their menu and have never been disappointed. They are very accommodating of dietary restrictions and it is really easy to substitute ingredients in their dishes. Service is always great with food prepared quickly and with quality, the people as well are so friendly. Definitely come to Ben's!

Do not go if you are vegan or vegetarian. They completely messed up my order and put meat and eggs in everything. They remade one of the dishes but did not refund.

It's not much to look at from the outside but inside, they're friendly, have the best Pad Thai, very good other dishes and it's BYOB!

Have had this place multiple times, crab Rangoon is always good but for some reason today the pad Thai smelled like feces?? Just couldn’t get past the smell and unfortunately had to throw the whole container away. May give it another chance, but today was unfortunately not normal.

Great Thai food, the duck is fantastic

Small and unassuming but very tasty with excellent service and good prices. Loved the crispy rangoon with tangy sweet sauce, as well as the green curry rice and ginger noodles. Server answered questions, refilled water, etc. without nagging - brought carry out boxes before we asked - and was friendly and kind. This place is a keeper, but like most of Edgewater, beware parking...

Asked for extra beef and paid $26 for extra vegetables!

Update: I seldom go to Ben's Noodles nowadays. The manager can be rude about refunds and exchanges.

I wanted a small place where I could enjoy a rare 70° day this time of the year, and do a little people watching. Plus the owner seemed like a very affable chap. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

My wife and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food and entertainment they have on Wednesday's.

The food here is just Chinese food with a Thai label. We ordered the Spicy Korean Pork, and what we actually got was bad sweet and sour sauce mixed with Tabasco thrown together with some pork, and then dumped on stuck-together-noodles. The Pad Thai was fairly flavorless, and for $10, extremely small.

Panang curry and seaweed salad were both fantastic. Better than expected. Cozy seating and attentive service

This is my go to place when I’m craving Thai food. Great food in terms of taste and quality of ingredients used. Great value for money in terms of price vs quantity as well. Definitely recommend.

The new manager that’s a older male species is sooooo rude, I called in to place an order and he hung up on me four times. I had to talk to someone else and I love their food even though the prices are increasing but other than that it’s a no for me dawg.

I’ve ordered the wings a few times. They are normally delicious. Today, they were burnt. Inedible. I called to complain. To give them a chance to correct the mistake. They didn’t. So, it’s my last time eating food from this place.

Go for the noodle dishes over the curry, pad Thai and pad see ew had a ton of flavor. Really appreciated how the tofu was cooked well, not over-fried and spongy like other Thai places I’ve been to.

Excellent food respectful service reasonable price

My friends and I ordered the Pad Thai here it was honestly pretty good. Yet my first would NOT recommend to order it spicy because she could not eat it. They do offer quite a few vegan/vegetarian options though. The veggie spring rolls are delicious. The pricing wasnt bad and the service was nice.

Delicious and hot. Fast is an understatement! The Pad Thai gets 6 stars. Spring rolls are crisp and delish! Tom yum soup is super yummy. The shrimp tempura is the best Ive had in a lomg time! 3 thumbs up!!

This is an awesome please that you would miss if you weren't looking for. Amazing take out service and not bad to grab a bite inside if you can grab a table (very small restaurant). One of the best curries on Chicago so far. If you are in the areaand feeling Asian give it a shot!

Good Thai food, I liked red curry

I got the green curry with chicken, basil fried rice with chicken, thai iced coffee, and the egg rolls. OMG they were all so amazing! Great taste and good sized portions. Will definitely return !

Price is great. Owner and wife terrific. Been getting take out there for over 8 years. You can sit down eat there and view the passing theater from seats next to the windows. Location is just blocks from many of Chicago's treasured store front theaters! This is the Real Theatre District!

I used to eat here twice a month or so for about 5 years, then I moved. I still come by once a year or so because I miss the pad see-eiw w chicken. I also like the pineapple fried rice, curry fried rice, and the oyster sauce beef. The crab rangoon are also good. Staff are great. Service is always the best. Prices reasonable.

Ben's noodles is a hole in the wall by many different metrics. The restaurant is old and simple. I would bet they haven't even updated the furniture or decor in a decade. However, this creates an air of comfort and familiarity that you can enjoy while savoring the delicious food. The food is extremely delicious. It feels and tastes authentic. The service is extremely friendly and reliable. If I didn't live an hour away, I would certainly find myself here every weekend.

I live nearby, but I prefer Jin (another Thai restaurant a block away). Ben's is OK, the price is right for what it is, but never blows me away. This is the Thai food you get when you just want to satisfy a quick "Thai urge" but don't want anything of high-quality. The sort of thought where you say to your friend, "Oh, I could go for some Pad Thai, but let's just grab it and come home to watch TV." You're not focused on the food, you're just eating it because it satisfies enough of your taste buds to recognize it as Thai Food and scratches your itch.

Never disappointed

Family Thai restaurant makes me miss my old neighborhood. Welcoming staff, open to substitutions, fast service. Pad thai, panang curry are familiar favorites. This pad see eiw is the only one my mom and nephew will eat.

Good, quick, inexpensive Thai food.

It was a great experience. The crab Rangoon was perfect. The service was fast and the owner, Nancy was great! We all had three different dishes all very tasty. For a Sunday, it is pretty busy plus they deliver. Will travel to get here and will be back!
