Food was not good and tasted weird too. Maybe the drinks (which I didn’t have) are what gives this place such high ratings? Hopefully they change chefs and/or ingredients to make it taste better. Had the pineapple fried rice - at least they were more generous than most places with the pineapple. Also ordered general tsao’s chicken - the badder tasted odd and the texture was also a little off, not to mention the stray fried dough chunks (without chicken) that were annoying. Lastly, had their new Hawaiian chicken - the flavor was awful.

Diner Review №2

The atmosphere and menu selection have been outstanding! Any time we try something here we really like it. Would definitely recommend.

Diner Review №3

Nice pan-asian restaurant with strong resort style tiki drinks and fun kitschy decorations. Thai and Chinese food offerings are both good. They offer some of the classic tiki drinks in resort style- all of which taste good. Big tiki mug collection for sale too with lots of fun themes. Staff are very nice.

Diner Review №4

I chose AO Hawaiian Hideout for my birthday dinner while visiting from out of town. I was happy to see that I could make a reservation, but I do not think it is entirely necessary. We arrived about 15 minutes early and they were able to accommodate us. There were many menu options to pick from, some more adventurous than others. There was a large selection of tiki glasses to purchase as well in the entryway. Our food came out faster than I expected, but this could vary depending on what you order. I was really happy with the pupu platter for 2, it was more food than I was expecting.

Fun and cute date spot!

Diner Review №7

We’re in town for a quick visit and it’s our first time at AO Hawaiian. This place was AMAZING! I got the Hawaiian BBQ and my husband had the Mei Gorang Noodles. Holy cow- so flavorful and delicious! I’m not a huge fan of kimchi but the cucumbers hit the spot! We’re so glad we stopped in and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Chicago 😋

Diner Review №8

This place was a GREAT experience. Staff are super cool walking us through the menu and making the perfect spice recommendations. I overheard some of the staff on the phone, where they had messed up an order, they made it right, right on the spot. Food was AMAZING. 11/10 experience. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №9

strong drinks and good food. Very cool decor as well. Go here if you're on a trip to the museums

Diner Review №10

Popped in to AO Hawaiian Hideout on a quiet afternoon to check out this beautiful Hawaiian themed restaurant. From the moment you enter, AO brings you on a Polynesian adventure. I particularly was interested in trying their savory Spicy Indonesian Seafood Noodle Soup. This bowl seems to be the popular pick as it can be seen all over their Yelp page. I was plesantly surprised by the variety of seafood in this bowl--shrimp, fish filet, soft-shelled crab, imitation crab and green scallions. I ordered the soup broth mild, and it was prepared exactly to my tolerance. I am quite impressed by the flavor of the broth, but not as impressed by the selection of noodle. I'm not a huge fan of eating spaghetti noodles in an Asian soup and would have enjoyed ramen, egg, or even rice noodes instead as substitute. I also ordered their BBQ ribs that requires a 20 minutes wait and comes with a side of rice, macaroni salad, and chili cucumbers. I wasn't a fan of their BBQ as the meat was baked without a light crispy crust. Perhaps a flash fry and slight char (without the meat be completely coated with black char) would have been much preferred.

I would definitely return to AO Hawaiian Hideout again to check out their other options. You can definitely tell that the restaurant is a precious project of their owners for the effort invested in giving their customers a beautiful dining experience.

Diner Review №11

We love coming here because it's close by and the food tastes great. The dishes have lots of flavors, although I wish they used less oil. The drinks are strong and that's just how I like them! The tiki vibe is fun and always a good time. The panang fries are sooooo good!

Diner Review №12

The food was absolutely delicious. I recommend the Spam musubi, crab Rangoon, Hawaiian barbecue chicken, and zesty orange tofu. The service was pleasant and excellent.

Diner Review №13

Got the Loco Moco and a sweet bbq chicken dish. Both were delicious and the chicken was some of the best I've ever had. Good crunch on the outside and perfectly juicy on the inside.

Service was quick and friendly and the place has a very cute tropical vibe to it.

Diner Review №14

One of my go-to spots.

Diner Review №15

I need to explain how good this place is. Actually I can’t. Everyone needs to come and eat here. I had the Manduguk for appetizer. For the entreé I chose the Saimin Noodle. OMG… the best noodle I have ever had. From the spicyness to the mixed flavors. For dessert the Mango Froze… it is the epitome of the meal. Try it all! Oh.. and the service is 10 stars! Woody is super pleasant!

Diner Review №16

It's decorated with vibrant colors, can't miss it.

Ordered a Dumpling tofu with and without spices noodles and fried rice . It came with rice, mixed greens salad Love the flavors and light seasoning . The other dish was the spicy tofu Nice 🙂.

I will definitely be back and will try the other items on the menu.

Diner Review №17

Had an amazing dining experience here. The food was phenomenal with amazing vegan options. Price was very fair for the portion sizes and the atmosphere unique. Will definitely be back.

Diner Review №18

We've been in Chicago for about a week, tried multiple places and this was our favorite spot. It was the best customer service we've had, the portions were large and the very flavorful.
We're a family that's dine asian food often, and everyone's consensus this place was delicious!
Oh and the atmosphere was so fun!

Diner Review №19

Great food, everything hits!

Diner Review №21

I’ve ordered from here at least once or twice a week for a year. Just ordered egg rolls (some of the best) and was alerted by my app that my order was ready. I live practically next door and went to pick up my order. Not only did I wait at least ten minutes, the young lady who brought my order out asked me if I paid for it. Excuse me? I politely declined my order and left. I then called to ask to speak with a supervisor to discuss my concerns and was told that I was speaking with the owner, who then proceeded to dismiss me. Food is good, however, no respect for loyal customers. Appalled. I will not return nor recommend as I have recently or in the past.

Service was quick and staff very pleasant. We got the colada drinks, and they were delicious. Everything was nicely presented as well. Very large portions and nicely priced.

Food was delicious. Cocktails were fun. Service was great :)

Diner Review №31

I got the zesty orange chicken and 2 egg rolls. I got, and still have, horrible food poisoning. After eating I regurgitated all of my stomach contents, my head was spinning, I had chills, and I am currently unable to leave my home because I don’t know when I’ll need the toilet or feel the urge to regurgitate again. On top of this, I am still unable to keep anything as simple as water down, so I’ve been slowly sipping on gatorade for the last two days. I feel bad about this outcome because I’ve ordered from this restaurant at least three times in the past and this is the first time I have ever gotten sick. This is the first time i’ve EVER gotten this sick from food. Tread carefully, you only have one body, and right now mine is not happy😭

Diner Review №32

Only got takeout because it was close to closing time, so I didn’t get the full experience and can’t say much about the ambiance. What I can say is that they were nice and the Loco Moco was delicious and generously portioned.

Diner Review №36

Diner Review №37

Diner Review №38

Kanikame poke bowl was delicious! Very fresh ingredients.

Diner Review №39

Food was beyond delicious. The place is beautiful..the vibe and the decoration..the quantity is generous. Service was on point. I highly recommend this place

Diner Review №40

I came on a Friday night, it was empty and it took five minutes for someone to notice me.
It does have Hawaiian roadside vibes, but unfortunately I walked after the staff was not informative about the food, and they couldn’t make classic tiki drinks, like the “Scorpion” (and only had two kinds of rum when I tried to assist them).
Sorry first impression are important and I won’t be back.

(Good reviews are likely for food, that’s it. Too bad they didn’t have better informed staff)

Diner Review №41

Diner Review №42

so yummy!! i loved the ambiance too and the servers were super kind and welcoming

Diner Review №43

Warning: Prices are incorrect online and they will not honor the price listed. Ended up paying double

Diner Review №44

Food is better in Hawaii for sure, but it’s still tasty and the drinks are strong. The service is really great and I love the interior of the restaurant! Never too busy either.

Diner Review №45

This was a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and fun drinks. The menu is extensive, but I settled on a spam poke bowl for my entree. It was like spam masubi but in poke bowl format, and all the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. One of my friends had pulled pork and said it was the best she'd ever had, and another friend had a tasty and generous portion of salt and pepper fish. The staff was very friendly and on top of the drinks. We will definitely return if we're in the area again!

Diner Review №46

I work on museum campus and came here after work one day with coworkers. It's fun tiki vibes inside and they have a loaded menu. I was glad that I browsed the menu before we came because there were a lot of options! The spam masubi was delicious! They had lots of traditional Hawaiian options. The nachos were great too.

Diner Review №47

Seems food can be bit of a hit or miss as a bunch of other reviews loved it, but neither me nor my partner had a great meal.

Diner Review №48

Diner Review №49

Excellent food, chill vibes. They have a huge vegan menu

Diner Review №50

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

This place has a great menu! The food was so good we came back the next night with more people to try even more things. All 10 items we ordered across both nights were amazing. Stop looking and come here :)

Diner Review №54

My family and I went here for lunch after spending the day at the Aquarium. The atmosphere was decent and I could see it being more entertaining for dinner. However, the food and service were ok. Staff seemed nice but we could hardly understand what they were saying. With all the choices of places to eat in the city, this won’t be one of them.

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №60

I adore this place. I'm vegan/vegetarian, and they have a whole, dedicated vegan menu. I'm so excited to try all of the items on it!! 😊

I have a friend with celiacs disease that can eat here because they tag items as GF. The gluten free friend didn't have any reaction to their cooking, so I believe they know what they're doing! We did let them know ahead of time, and the server was able to reassure us and pick some great options. 🥢

Their tiki drinks are also very fun and strong, so the higher price makes more sense to me for the area compared to other restaurants.🍹

I recommend the edemame, kimchi cucumber, sushi burrito, pad Thai, Thai curry, pad kee mao, and nasi goreng

Diner Review №61

This place is fantastic! Food was fast and delicious, as were the drinks. The service was friendly and efficient. And the atmosphere was excellent! Highly recommend.

Diner Review №62

Great food in a fun environment. The prices are fair and they have a large selection of food to choose from, including many vegan options.

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

Go to place for high quality Thai food

Diner Review №65

The experience at this restaurant was amazing. The food was very delicious and plated beautifully. I would highly recommend, the food on the menu was very difficult to choose from!

Diner Review №66

Diner Review №67

Very cool atmosphere. Drinks were either way too sweet or just straight vodka. The bi bim bop was not even close to real bi bim bop, usually it's served in a piping hot metal or stone bowl at most real Korean places. Service was quick but rude.

Edit: rethinking about this experience they are definitely racist. They cater to mostly an Asian crowd which is fine but they should treat everyone equally. If you look at the bad reviews of this place it's all from non Asian ethnicities (Latin, African American, white ect...) and who were treated relatively poorly. I was one of 2 non Asian people during my experience and they were extremely rude to me and the workers all glared at me the whole time.

Diner Review №68

Went here with my family and enjoyed every bit of it. The atmosphere was great and the service even better. If you dont know what to get the person serving you will certainly help you pick something delicious. Those Hawaiian Pulehu Beef Shortribs were so good i forgot to take a photo of it as well as the nacho plate tha was the perfect starter. The drinks were also good the emperors lagoon and if you say you cant pronounce that one drink you see they'll most likely know what you mean lol. Great time and we'll definitely be comin back. Left happy and full

Diner Review №69

If I can put 0 start I will. If you want to be treat badly and eat food from microwave come here. This was supposed to be a wonderful Monday. We usually chose different restaurants to try the food culture and diversity of flavors. This restaurant was close to our selections and after to check the reviews we decided to come. Worse decision ever. We order one of the most popular plates loco moco and it tasted like it was coming out from a microwave. The meet was not taste and the sauce either. It is not the first time that we try different food and culture in Chicago. However is the first time the a manager came to us and tell us to leave and never came back. Because we did not like the food and we told her that was not our taste. This lady doesn’t know about customer service. She told us if you don’t know the food do not order. That was not a response from a manager. The food was awful. Don’t come here it’s like someone took the food and warmed in the microwave. It was a disaster. I don’t usually make reviews bad it is the first time that I felt mistreated and attacked by a manager. Please don’t go there. I did not check the reviews in detail please check them. I am not the only one who thinks this.

Edit review after restaurant response:
Manager incriminates they were were racist we were not raciest and never infer anything about that. As far as I see on the other reviews is not the first time yet the manager decent herself for the bad reviews saying that people was racist. She does not know how to treat people

Diner Review №70

Grabbed a quick bite with a friend and they had some nice specials for dinner and drinks. We had the martini special and the pad Thai, it was decent. I might try something else next time. It’s a good spot for a quick bite to eat.

Diner Review №71

The loco moco was great, I enjoyed the bag that out was swimming in thick brown gravy. However, the pad Thai was too sweet. I'd eat loco moco again.

Diner Review №72

Delicious food, and very friendly staff!

Diner Review №73

What a neat restaurant! If you are going to a concert on Northerly Island, stop here first. The ambience is kitchy and fun. The service was great. The food was overall very good- the tuna nachos had so many levels of flavor... delicious! The fried chicken is exceptional- crunchy a flavorful outside, soft and juicy inside. The rice a pasta salad that came with the chicken had absolutely no flavor, however. And the cucumber salad was fresh and bright. This is a great place and the prices are so very fair compared to the others restaurants in Chicago. I will definitely return when I'm back on that side of town!

Diner Review №74

OMG! Best Hawaiian spot I've found so far. They are so friendly and attentive. My sister and mom and I ordered 3 items and the sampler appetizers and split everything. It was all so good. We'll be coming back again in 2 weeks! Looking forward to it! 🥰🥳🥳 also they have the cutest setup. Definitely a hidden gem and they sell TIKI shots and cups! So unique!!

Diner Review №81

We were looking for a place to eat after the field museum and stumbled upon this awesome hideout. Good drinks and fun atmosphere. Food is tasty with big portions. Will return if we get the chance.

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

They got the order right except for the spice level. I asked for mild and I got extra spicy. It was spicier than my friend's spicy dish. That's not cool, man. I had to buy yogurt sauce just to be able to eat it. Too bad it was takeout so couldn't really send it back. I've been in person before and had sushi which I enjoyed.

Diner Review №84

Staff were not friendly, and my issue with the food is that even the vegetarian dishes with tofu are all fried in the same grease as chicken, seafood, etc.

Diner Review №85

Great spot with lots of character. The food was delicious!

Diner Review №86

Super friendly staff, amazing and generous portions of food. Also, very strong cocktails.

We got a loco moco, and a spicy salmon bowl. The loco moco patties were seasoned well, onions so caramelised and fragrant, and was topped of with crispy fried eggs. Spicy salmon bowl had mushrooms, pickled radish, avocados, cucumbers (those were bitter though), peppers and some other mixed vegetables.

Will definitely be going back! Seems like a popular place because it was crowded. PS Bar tender is extremely friendly too!

Edit: I’m sorry, i don’t know how to reply to the reply. No worries about the cucumber, it does happen with ingredients at times. Small issue, we ate everything else on the plate very happily. Will be back and still recommending AO! :)

Diner Review №87

AO Hawaiian Hideout offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of flavorful dishes. The short ribs and pasta salad were particularly outstanding, combining tender meat with a refreshing salad. The spring rolls were a highlight, perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. For those craving a bit of spice, the Spicy Mongolian dish delivered with its robust flavors and satisfying heat.
Service at AO Hawaiian Hideout was exemplary, characterized by efficiency and friendliness, ensuring a pleasant dining atmosphere. Overall, AO Hawaiian
Hideout is highly recommended for its delicious food and excellent service, making it a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.

Another week, another TWO visits to this neighborhood gem. Service is amazing (yay Action and Aum!) and the food is equal parts delicious, not too pricey, and generous in portions. Literally couldn't be happier w this place.

Diner Review №91

This is my family's first time visiting AO Hawaiian. We lived in Hawaii for quite some time and we miss the food and so we've been in search of a decent Hawaiian place. We all enjoyed our food excepty daughter who had the beef and broccoli (the sauce was too sweet for her taste), and the loco moco's gravy was an odd consistency. But overall we enjoyed our food and will probably come back but maybe without the picky kids next time. Thanks so much for the great service!

Diner Review №93

I hesitate to write this review, because it’s so good and I don’t want too many people to find out about Chicago’s best kept secret. Affordable and delicious food!

Great spot that is close to soldier field - fun for before or after dinner at events. Especially with fun cocktails!

Must get: Spicy Malaysian Deluxe Laksa Soup (mild is spicy as a warning… but it’s beyond delicious!) and Kalbi
Solid picks: spam musubi
Skip: teaser sampler

Diner Review №95

Awesome variety of Asian food. Cool TiKi atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and on point. They have a huge outdoor patio on Wabash Ave.

Diner Review №96

We did carry out and I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. Their portions were reasonable and the food was very good. The spice level was great and I really enjoyed the curry poutine. That curry sauce was very good. Also got the pad see ew and it was better than my go-to hometown joint so that was a wonderful surprise. I appreciate their vegetarian selection and overall, had a nice time.

Diner Review №97

Had the kahlua pig, and I enjoyed having Mac salad again. The food reminded me of the trip to Hawaii we had taken 2 years back. I would have loved a curry beef option, but we will come back.

This was a fun spot for dinner and drinks and looong conversation. Had the Chow fun noodles and my friends had the fish n chips. The food was great, but the place could use some new thatch. Everything looked a bit worn. Prices were fair and I’d definitely visit again!

Diner Review №101

This is such a fun place anytime of the year. It's great in the summer with such a tropical menu, and a fun escape in the winter. I took my sister here for her bachelorette party recently, and we all loved it! I'd been before, and choose it specifically for the delicious reasonably priced food/drink, awesome staff and fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №102

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

I really liked poke! It falls on more spicy side. Their ribs were well cooked and tender but a little sweet for me and their mie goreng had good flavor but little salty. The envrionment and staff were very nice! Fun place.

Diner Review №106

Cute spot with a really fun Hawaiian vibe. The food was great and out quickly. The decor was tropical/nautical/Polynesian. Menu was huge and pan Asian, it had something for everyone. We were also glad it was open for lunch because some other places in the area aren't.

Diner Review №107

Thank you for actually making your drinks taste like alcohol

Diner Review №108

Loco moco broke the mouth!! Ohh and the saimin was out of this world! We were so satisfied with the whole meal! Try the Mac salad!!
Haven't had good Hawaiian grinds like this in a while and it made my girlfriend and I so happy

Diner Review №109

Great Hawaiian food and sushi. Fun collectible drink cups. Must try the spam musubi if you’ve never had it before.

Diner Review №110

This is just a fun place all around. The menu is extensive and gives flavors from around Asia and Hawaiian specialties as well. The drinks are great. Decor has a vibe. Service is pretty decent. Good for groups of any size, locals, and out of towners.

Diner Review №111

Tuna Poke was pretty good.

The worst Loco Moco I've ever tried. Meat patty that came with was like cheap fake frozen meat. Sauce tasted too bland. Also it came out warm instead of being hot. I felt grossed out after eating halfway.

The Honey sesame chicken(?) was literally felt like the frozen marinated chicken from the Trader's Joe. My mistake to only looked at the photos, rate of stars, and reviews instead of actually reading through them.

Our family went there for last day of Chicago trip and very disappointed and wasted of money :(.

Diner Review №112

Diner Review №113

Service is awesome and the servings are big enough to share. The atmosphere is conducive to family dining. It’s relaxed. Looks like that won’t be my last.

Diner Review №114

We tried this restaurant as a family of 5. Tried many noodle dishes and spiked lemonade. A bit greasy but delicious. I added a vegetable but another vegetable was missing and when asked, they said it's chef's choice. Not cool. Wish service was much better than it was. There was impatience from waitresses and gratuity of 22% mandatory!

Diner Review №115

Fun atmosphere, large menu.

Diner Review №116

Very poor customer service, dirty table and even the menu, we were very disappointed about it. Food was not good, very grease. Too bad could be a fun place to visit often. When we visit Chicago. I don’t want go

Diner Review №120

Loved the food! Kalua Pig was so tender and flavorful. The Crab Rangoon was perfectly crispy and had plenty of filling. I also recommend the coladas!

Diner Review №121

We drove out from the suburbs to experience this place. The food was amazing! So many tiki drink glasses to order if you wish. The only recommendation I would give to the service would be to ask if we were ready for the check, or even if we wanted to keep the leftovers. We had to ask for take out boxes (none were offered) and the bill was dropped on the table without any mention or question about dessert.

Diner Review №122

Delicious spicy food with HUGE portions

Diner Review №123

Menu was not very Hawaiian. Mish mash of chinese, japanese, Thai, Hawaiian. Chicken in kung pao cut in too large pieces and not great. Place looked great

Diner Review №124

Loved spam Musubi

Diner Review №125

I would like to say that this review had something to do with the food . I would not know because as a first time visitor I chose this restaurant and traveled far to be abruptly and rudely turned away even though the restaurant did not close for over 30 min . Even after being asked can an exception be made maybe limited menu or we order at seating. The host sarcastically repeated the same thing as if to say "I said what I said " I knew right then I would never be back. No matter how good of food. Respect and consideration is everything

Now look at the response which is probably the same manager who I encountered and not the owner . as I May have expected this is the policy that is firmly adhere to. But it does not matter. If I ask the question, could there be an exception made based on the fact that we were first timer, the answers just simply have been no, not to repeat the same thing. To do so is rude and disrespectful. Like I said, so you marginalized you on whether or not a person of a specific descent can be rude or impolite not only shows your preconceived notion about groups of people because people are individuals and individuals can be rude no matter what race or epic. They have this statement let me know for sure that it was because of my race that we were qualified the same way you're qualifying your people as polite. This is extremely ignorant. I never once said anything about race I simply said that she could've been polite to say I'm so sorry I wish we could. However, this is our policy and why. Please explain to your staff how to explain it in the same way that you did which is it's nothing personal. It's just a policy so that our staff can leave one time that's all your lack of ownership at the fact that if we are due to a place asking for some difference for that reason should not have been at normal. I refuse to accept when you said that we refuse to accept what you said we did not refuse to accept, which is why we left. We only simply asked if they're going to be an exception. This is something that largest society does all the time yet I wonder if I was blonde and blue lives what I have gotten that consideration , as I said, you have lost a great deal of business I will be posting this on my spite which has built 2000 or so forward and you have lost some as well. I don't know who likes to see money not come into their business, but I bet you because of who I am it won't matter to you and so you need a matter to me. There are hundreds of wonderful restaurants in the city. Yours will be one that I will speak against as I am able to . I'm not the only one these things I saw the other reviews about Halloween and incompetent staff with service. It starts from the top down. If you're really the owner, then it shows how ignorant you are to even say that people are not impolite. Can yi guarantee ??? What a joke

Diner Review №126

Very good food, at a pretty decent price. Stopped in after 3pm on a Wednesday with a party of 2 and ordered a few items from the menu; crab rangoons, spam musubi, beef teriyaki bourbon, short ribs, and mai tais. The Mai tais were strong and service was fast. The experience did not disappoint and we would definitely return.

Diner Review №127

Horrible Service! Betty the catering person is EXTREMLY RUDE! I was placing an order for an office party and wanted to get quotes and she was difficult and rude. She talks down to you like a child and is very insulting. I don't know if the food is any good but the service is terrible. Will never get Columbias business!

Diner Review №132

Got there right before it got busy, they have a lot of cool tiki drinks and cups for sale. The food borders on Hawaiian/Polynesian/japanese/thai. It has something for everyone and thought it was a great place, also had a lot of great vegan options.

This place is fabulous! The food was amazing. The people were so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely.

I had the Panang Curry beef and the rest of the table got Korean Bibimbop and the sesame seed noodle (O'ma O'ma O'). Everyone at the table agreed this was a hidden gem!

The only thing we missed was the live music, though the music playing was great.

Many dairy free choices! About 2 block from the Roosevelt station.

I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant.

A true hideaway gem! An unassuming exterior gives way to chill vibes, live music, exceptional hospitality, and amazing food and drinks. Wonderful selection of vegan options on the expansive menu suitable for all diets and preferences. The food was so good we ordered extra just to take home with us, all the way back to Florida. AO Hawaiian Hideout is now a must visit every time we travel to Chicago!

Amazing food! Even better than Hawaiian food in Hawai'i!

Diner Review №147

Food is great, staff is polite and welcoming, what else do you want? The decor to me was confusing but interesting.

They had $6 flavored lemonde on Mondays, awesome and delicious

Diner Review №148

Food was delicious! Everyone was so nice and the place looks amazing!

Diner Review №149

Second time here and the service, staff and food were fantastic!
Friendly and helpful waitresses. More than enough food for one person with amazing flavor and taste. Service was fast and will return soon. Amazing experience and keep it up! 👍🏿

Diner Review №150

Cute place and campy decor. STRONG drinks.

Food is not authentic Hawaiian tho. Kalua Pork has no smokiness, poke is eh. More like they have a few obligatory Hawaiian inspired dishes but is really a pan-Asian cuisine spot.

Diner Review №151

A fantastic hidden gem, awesome selection of a variety of cuisine. Exceedingly affordable prices. Atmosphere feels like a real getaway.

Panang Poutine was amazing!

We were staying in the area for two nights and after getting takeout here the first night it was so good we ordered from here again. It did not disappoint! We got Pad Thai, General Tsao's, Panang Poutine (twice), Panang Curry and then a different sushi each night. All were amazing!

We got everything with medium spicy and it definitely had a good kick to it. Other places tend to treat medium as mild but not here -- I'd only go up to Spicy if you really like spicy foods.

We decided to check this place out since we were in the area. It sounded interesting. The Hawaiian theme is everywhere but it’s done well. The service was great and we both enjoyed everything we ordered. I was surprised at how spicy my chicken was when I ordered medium. Just beware that medium is very spicy.

Bruh! Ono food. Best Hawaiian local like food since living in Hawaii I have had since moving back to the mainland. Kalbi and Saimin were fantastic. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

This place has the BEST fried rice I have ever tried. I went around all of Chicago trying fried rice since I'm a sucker for it and no one can beat the recipe here! Something about the way its seasoned gives it a huge punch of flavor.

Also the atmosphere is fun as well

Diner Review №163

If you love Tiki vibes and excellent Asian Fusion cuisine with tall, delicious drinks … this is your spot!

Diner Review №164

Tiki bar in the south loop, has a solid but small selection of drinks, but more than makes up for it with the food. There's a nice selection of poke, sushi, and other fusion dishes.

Decor is pretty nice and there are a lot of mugs available for purchase as well.

There is a small stage they'll have live music at twice a month

Perfect spot for a snack, meal, and especially a beverage. Wonderful servers and beautiful environment.

Diner Review №167

This was such a great spot to try for lunch while we were in the city for the day! I am vegan but my husband is not, and it’s always nice to go to places where we both have plenty of options. The portions were large (we both had leftovers), the food came out quickly and was piping hot, and everything was very flavorful. Would definitely come back again sometime to try other items on the menu!

Great Restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food.

Diner Review №170

Great place to go and my favorite place to visit every time I ride to the city or if I’m there visiting a friend. Great food! General Tso’s chicken is my favorite, and you can’t go wrong with the music here, they have helped me create some of my favorite playlists.

We took our son here for an early 1st birthday meal as a family and the waitstaff were SO incredibly kind, fun and thoughtful! All the other customers were equally delightful! The food was exceptional - great taste and presentation. The decorative elements were so fun too! Don’t hesitate to check this place out!

I had the beef bowel. Good food but rude staff. I asked a question about an dish in their menu but the staff didn’t understand the question and gave me a response that was not related to my question in a rude manner.

I've ate here twice, but ordered from here often. The flavors from AO are the best in the south loop. Everything is fresh and quality ingredients. I really like the staff and they are so quick! The inside is a little funky with the decor but it's a concept... the food is amazing. Everything I've ordered has been delicious and like I said, flavorful! Cooked perfectly. It's a go to, family friendly, quick bites, and great for a girls night.

Diner Review №179

It's cool. Drinks are creative and semi strong. Food over all I was not impressed. I kept it safe with just fried rice(combination meat) and just from the looks of the food my party members ordered, I was safe in doing so.
However the appetizer salad with tuna and goat cheese I believe it was, is really good. It's comes with fried rice paper that serves as a chip to eat with.

Service was great but the food was okay, ordered curry and it was missing a few ingredients and had to much basil

My family and I ate here last week sometime. We all ended up getting food poisoning. Diarrhea, vomiting and entire body chills. Will be escalating by reporting to the health department.

Diner Review №184

Food was awful, I would not recommend. I had the pad Thai and spicy salmon poke bowl. The bowl was very sweet and both had no flavor or spiciness . When I got my bill my total came out to $34.00 and when I received my receipt back I was charged $44.00 instead. When I asked the server about it she stated that she forgot to add an item, I would’ve preferred if I was told before my card was charged extra.

Fun place to stop after going to the AIC. Great Poke.

Diner Review №186

This is my new fav place ii love it here!
The food is amazing, HUGE portions and every dish I’ve tried was delicious
Service is amazing, and it’s Easy to order things if you have any dietary restrictions like gluten free or vegan, thy are happy to help you
Drinks are COLD and STRONG the A/C is blasting and the decor is incredible!!
They also have a stage with live music but I’ve never come during those times. Cute idea tho!!

Diner Review №189

Such a fun and welcoming restaurant! The wait staff was super nice and the food came out really quick! Definitely make a stop here if you are in the area, it's well worth it!

Diner Review №190

Really enjoyed the curry, more Asian than Hawaiian but solid choice overall.

Diner Review №191

This place is actually pretty good (surprisingly so), and obviously it has some staying power because they're celebrating 10 years this month.

We got sushi, and the roll was larger than standard, and the ingredients tasted very fresh. We also got dumplings, they were hot and fried crispy, very delicious.

The drinks were really sweet, and they messed up the one modification we asked for, but it definitely wasn't a dealbreaker.

We'd definitely come back.

Diner Review №192

Ordered fish and chips for pick up, arrived as it finished, the food was best described as inedible. I don't know how you can have food be fully fried and soggy at the same time but they achieved it. Just don't. That might be the worst fish and chips ever served to someone. Despite their response, no matter how you prep a fried food it shouldn't be soggy, rubbery and inedible.

Diner Review №193

The worst chicken pad thai in town, absolute garbage 👎 . The chicken was rubbery and disgusting, I still feel that icky taste in my mouth 🤮, the sauce extremely salty, almost no veggies and dry piece of lime. I couldn't force myself to eat it. It's been a while since I've had such a bad luck with the restaurant food.

Hawaiian and Asian themed restaurant and bar. Very fun decorating, just like an old school tiki bar. Plenty of delicious appetizers for every and all flavor palates. The spam musibi was very good and so was the poo poo platter for a little variety of their apps. We had a few different tiki style cocktails with our group. They were all good, but on the strong side, so be careful, especially the Mai Tai. All of our entrees came out quickly and tasted delicious. The portion sizes here are very generous, so come hungry and share. Bibimbap, ramen, honey garlic shrimp, Maylasian noodles soup, and Nasi goreng were all amazingly tasty fresh dishes. Take a break the normal restaurants and book a table to the Hawaiian retreat you deserve!
