Imaginative sushi rolls share the menu with cooked Japanese-Thai fare at this BYO spot with a patio.
This was my first time trying this place, for the outside looks pretty small but the place is really clean, the sushi was so good, the presentation, flavours and the way that it was cooked it was perfect. We order sriracha sauce for our sushi and they charged it, I think this was my first time that I paid for this sauce I don’t really mind but maybe they should tell us if we have to pay when we asked for extra sauce or another different one.
This restaurant is very unsuspecting. My partner and I were looking for some affordable sushi for dinner . We got the dragon, Mexican, California, and spicy crunchy yellow tail roll. The dragon and California were amazing , while the other two were also pretty good. Presentation of the food to go was very impressive. We also enjoyed the Pad Thai , the glass noodles were very good. My partner was shocked at how spicy their wasabi was . He said the quality was very good compared to other wasabi we have had with other sushi restaurants. Good quality.
Will be visiting again. I definitely recommend! Thank you Zoku Sushi.
Finally ordered from this place after living right by it for a few months. Best chicken pad Thai I’ve ever had. My taste buds were having a field day. And the crab Rangoons? They were rangooning that’s for sure 🤪. Portions were huge too. Barely made a dent and I’m full and have a couple meals for later. So good. I’ll def be returning.
Vegetarian perspective
Excited to see so many vegan options! Vegan apps section and vegan sushi. So uncommon to see that.... I loved it! The vegetable gyoza were sooo good! The sushi roll I got wasn't my favorite but I do appreciate them having the option. I think I'll try another one next time.
This place is a pleasant surprise! I first stopped by because it was the only place opened late around the area, but their Thai curry is very tasty!! I've been coming since. Red and green are both recommended. I also like their massaman curry. They have great pad Thai as well! Lots of ingredients, flavor, and great noodles.
Their sushi is pretty good, very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend route 66. Avoid cr cream. I'm from Japan so I'm very picky when it comes to sushi. Their sushi rolls are very creative, fresh, and delicious!! Their fish doesn't smell fishy like non fresh ones.
If your looking for high end authentic sushi, I'd say their sushi isn't one, but most places in America isn't authentic. This place is great!
good spot for the area, open late, eat in area is small, def a go to spot when in Humboldt Park.
The chicken Teriyaki was really good 👍and they added a free soup. Thank you
El ramen de puerco súper delicioso, el ambiente a luces bajas super acogedor , la mesera muy atenta . Súper recomendado!!
It’s good sushi. Been in the neighborhood since ‘17 and order takeout once a month. They’re consistent, solid.

Amazing sushi !
I grew up in Southeast Asia and this is some of the tastiest Thai food I've had in the Midwestern US. Their sushi is also good!
The entree Katsu Don has to be one of the best meals in the area, just as good delivered and is ready for pickup very quickly.
Closest restaurant to my Airbnb, yay for me!!! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Food always made FRESH, seasoned well, prepared quickly. Great value in my opinion.
Exactly the Asian foods we're looking for late at night. Very good pad kee mao and seared tuna salad. Complete with karaoke running on the monitor despite no singers.
Beef Soup hands down best in the city

Great sushi and staff! I ordered takeout and didn’t adjust one of the rolls with something I can’t eat. I called to switch it out and it was already made (completely my fault) but they fixed it for me. Highly recommend this spot!
Love this place! They are open late and their food is consistently awesome!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This was truly a pleasant to find!
This place is easily one of the best places I've had for sushi !!!
I love this spot! All the food is solid, they quickly fulfill orders, and they're open late. Definitely try the Route 66 roll and their chicken satay! They also have tons of vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommend.
my absolute favorite pad thai in chicago. the crab rangoons are also so good!
Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth $14 for baseline fried rice, and when I’m smart I still order it and I’m in heaven. When I’m dumb I go with a $12 fried rice and hate every bite because it’s not Zoku’s. They also have the best crab rangoon available for delivery in the area (yes, I’ve had them all). Someday I hope to try the rest of the menu, but when it’s not broke why fix it?
The sushi that I got delivered from here is so amazing it was so fresh and the flavors were fire. Although it's a bit pricey it's worth it, we ordered the sunrise and California roll they were both delicious but the sunrise was soo good I'm definitely going to order again and would 100% recommend !!!
Me and my family love coming to Zoku. We have been there so much they remember our order.
The specialty rolls (Route 66, Mexican Dragon, and Chicago) are amazing.
Ramen and sushi were delicious
They're open pretty late, which is a huge plus, but the quality (as in taste and presentation) is hit or miss. I've had 5 star experiences with their rolls and I've had 1 star experiences. If the staff wasn't so friendly and accommodating, I'd be less likely to return, but they're great
Went out to eat by myself last night, everything was good till I look at my bank account and saw that the waitress tipped himself a $56 when I had left a 5$ tip and bill was $22. Very disappointed on how people can take advantage
Nice little hidden gem to try!! Food was so good and fresh tried the Pad thai and 3 diffrent sushi rolls. The waiters were nice and attentive.
The chicken noodle Rama is the best !!!

I ordered takeout twice, and I was not impressed with how the sushi turned out. I will say their crab ragoons are the best I've had.
The place was cute, the staff was friendly and gave us good service. The food however was not the best, it seemed a bit bland. I ordered a sushi roll & their wide noodles and the noodles were a bit overcooked. Its open late night so I can see why its popular. & I was freezing in there so I was a bit uncomfortable.
We order carry out from here all the time. My wife likes the different noodles and I like the different fried rices. Fairly affordable and they always get the orders right.
Truly a hidden gem in Humboldt! We looked up sushi in our neighborhood and came here on an impromptu date night. We ordered some appetizers which were delicious; and then a few sushi rolls. The sushi was super fresh and yummy. We brought a bottle of wine with us and it was a perfect little Friday date night. I love having a spot like this in the neighborhood!
Best ramen I have had in Chicago or anywhere in the States. For two orders of ramen and an appetizer, it was about 40 which is not bad for getting tasty ramen. They are open pretty late and we got welcomed in right at the entrance by one of the workers that seemed to be taking a break. Overall it is a very relaxing atmosphere.

I've been going to this place a few times throughout the month given its the only place open when I'm out of work. The restaurant is small so I recommend calling ahead if you have a larger group (4+) and while it's a sushi place it has a variety of dishes from Pad Thai to Teriyaki which is a plus for me. I think everything was priced fairly and is a perfect spot for date night or just spending time with close friends. While I haven't had everything on the menu yet, everything I've had so far was great, with portions that are fair. I'd highly recommend taking a visit.
Food is excellent
Loved the food and service, would 100% go again!
The people are so nice and the food is great. Very cute place, also love the music videos!
this place always creates a delicious meal and they’re friendly and efficient every time i pick up my food. 10/10
I've ordered delivery from Zoku for years and for the most part, it has been quite good. When they raised their prices, I stayed as a customer because I knew that supply chains were stretched thin and profit margins were being squeezed. When they switched away from their own delivery and went with a service and delivery prices significantly increased, I still stuck by them. But this latest order has me rethinking my loyalty. I ordered the Pad See Ew, which I've had several times before. This time, there was not a single whole noodle in sight - nothing but tiny little overcooked pieces of noodle. No sauce - it had all been absorbed by the overcooked noodle fragments. It was essentially flavorless and very oily. It went into the compost bin. I also ordered the unagi roll - my favorite. Unlike in the past, the roll was much smaller. I also ordered the seaweed salad. It was the smallest portion I've ever received - it did not even fill the bottom of the container and it usually was a good amount. I really hope this is a fluke, I have been quite a fan of Zoku in the past and have introduced many friends to it. I'll give it one more try, but I fear that with prices up and quantity and quality of food down, Zoku may have lost its shine.
Had an issue with the online take out order. I arrived to the restaurant to find out the order was not ready when promised which wasn't a huge deal. They apologized and prepared the order and it was totally worth the wait!! Great food and I will be returning to explore the menu.
Excellence!
I mean it’s food. Tastes … alright. Definitely not worth the price.
Massive wad of butter in my sushi roll. What is that weirdness about??? Never have I ever
Great service but mediocre and expensive food, open late
Some of the best Thai I’ve had in Chicago! Great flavors, good for vegetarians, high quality veggies. Love!
La verdad no estaba muy rico y estaba bastante caro.
La atención fue buena.
Olor a baño
Excellent food and terrific menu options. Love their sushi and everything else in between. Entrees are also extremely generous in portions. When ordering pick up the food seems to stay piping hot all the way home, about a 45 minute drive for me! Chicken pad thai and their fried rice are my weakness, highly recommend this place!!
Love this spot! It's my go to when I'm craving sushi or Thai food. I've tried maybe 15 different menu items and have never had any complaints.
My favorite sushi spot
one of my favourite delivery spots, also a nice little dine-in, the zoku fried rice & agedashi tofu are phenomenal.
delicious food almost always)
No thank you, I tried this place 4 times, the first was was good me and the fam ate there. Second & third was delivered (yuk)! Today was the fourth time, we made it back inside (cause the first time was good) but inside. Nope not coming back till they are under new management or ownership. The service was bad, the food worse!
I’m vegetarian and very picky with sushi since many places have subpar veggie rolls, but this place was amazing! Had the fried tofu appetizer and sweet potato roll and my friend had the Route 66. Everything was delicious. Also the mochi dessert is very good. I do agree with the comments about service being a bit slow but the food exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back!
Great place to cure that late night sushi craving
The pad thai has always been good, I've ordered from here a couple of times, but it seems they raised their prices and never updated their online menu on their website. Kinda blindsided when i went to pick up 3 items and my total was more than i expected.
Muy fea comida
pretty bad service had us waiting while rest of their waitresses were on their phone and talking to each other, pretty over priced for one serving of a nigiri/sashimi (which is 5 dollars for every single one). a sushi set comes with abt 6 single pieces and an little to no rice (these range from 25-34 dollars).
My to go to late place! I love their pad Thai and spicy crunchy shrimp sushi. My boyfriend says he doesn’t like their pad Thai but he always eats half of it when I get it!😒 Super nice people and always easy to order.
I hope all the good reviews on here are for the Thai food because the sushi is just plain small, low quality and not very fresh.
Just moved to the city and already I think me and my roommate found our go to spot for such delicious cuisine with great hours and plenty to choose from!
i dont know how this place has 4 stars. its overpriced garbage with terrible service. the teriyaki chicken was so dry it look a full minute to chew a small piece. like eating hay. the teriyaki sauce was super underwhelming and not tasty. they gave us old rice, super disappointed they had bogus rice. no sticky rice, not even hot. the sushi wasn’t fresh. based on the sogginess it was probably made in the morning in batches and the sushi was covered in a huge amount of a crunchy topping to try and hide the super mushy texture of it. the spicy miso soup was flavorless, just tasted like hot chili water, barley any tofu or substance, it was literally 99% poorly made broth. for a super tiny tiny piece of mochi was $3 probably worth $1 because of how overly frozen and little it was. the prices in general are outrageous for the quality of the food. i couldve went to china buffet and had better food there. and on top of everything the service is terrible, because there was none. the servers are some of the most oblivious and inattentive servers ive seen in a long time. all their attention being consumed by to-go orders we ended up with horrible service. its a shame and not worth your money. never going back until chef Ramsey himself turns that place around
Came around 7 PM, was empty only us and one other table. Service was very slow, both me and my friend had to get up and ask the server to order, for condiments, and the check. Sushi and apps were okay, but wouldn’t come again. This was my second time coming and service was the same last time. Staff was talking and on phones .
Food always ready pretty fast
My favorite spot!!! Make sure to try the crunchy spicy tuna roll <3
They’re greedy. But the food is delicious. I’m updating my review.
A Humboldt Park treasure. The basil fried rice is my favorite. Great selection of vegetarian options.
I walked in around 4 on a weekday and the service was slow and confusing. I understand this is not peak time, I was the only patron there, but it was aggravating as I had somewhere to be at 5. I tried to draw attention from the server, couldn’t until I walked over, and I eventually asked them to just make it a takeout order. Even that was slow.
That being said, the food was delicious. The shrimp rolls were novel and delightful, and the Zoku fried rice was excellent. They really hit the spot just before I was going to get a tattoo nearby.
Ok for a late night option. I ordered take out. Highly disappointed with the portion of seaweed salad. the container wasn't even 1/4 full. Especially for the price.
The service was not too great. I kindly asked for water and the waitress rolled her eyes.
We ordered the Chicago rolls which were good. Also ordered the spider roll and I usually order this at every sushi place I've been to and this was by far the worst.
Shrimp pad Thai made the meal a little better. But overall I don't recommend this location for sushi.
To top it off, one of workers (sushi chef) was picking his nose.
Excellent Katsu don!
Beutiful little place ,almost like you enter and takes you out of the city feeling . We ordered fried calamari, tempura and egg rolls to start and the were finger licking good ,I went with my family and we all had a bit of everything and we fell in love with the food .Everything we got tasted phenomenal it was first time dining in ,one of many to come .the staff was friendly and attentive a little hidden gem in the city.
Great food!
My go to for take out. Wish it was brighter inside. Good soup, entrees, and sashimi. Waiter dude is always attentive.
I love that Zoku is open late. It’s a great late night take-out spot for food that you don’t want something heavy or greasy. Zoku’s food is always tasty and fresh!
I went to eat here and a worker was sick making my food 😫 🤢🤮
AMAZING SUSHI!!!!
A little on the pricey side, but the sushi was great and the place has a nice ambience.
Best sushi and teriyaki we've ever had! Everything was so fresh and light, amazing food!
Great food! Chill spot! Highly recommended.
Love the pad Thai here. I recommend getting the vegetables added instead of meat. I also add tofu to it. My favorite in the city. Food is always nice and fresh.
Had both sushi (fresh and delicious) and some Panang curry which was also very good. Prices affordable and our party of 4 all enjoyed the food. Would go back again.
Servicio rspido
I have only ever ordered for pick up but have had a great experience each time! The sushi tastes fresh, the appetizers are delicious, and I really appreciate the fresh sautéed veggies in the fried rice. Yum!
Pretty good food, quiet but not dead on a Thursday night. looks like they might do karaoke.
Honestly one of my favorite sushi places to go to! Conveniently closes late perfect for the late night studying, perfect night shift food and such for to go. Amazing food and nice little spot. I definitely spread the word often
Honestly great food but horrible service. I originally came to dine in because the sushi I ordered was so amazingly fresh. We got seated tonight around 7pm didn’t get our first order of sushi until around 7:45pm. We were the first patrons there. Maybe 20-25 mins after we showed up another couple walked in and got all of their apps and meal before us. Then a family of 3 came in and sat to the right of us and had the same frustrations. It was very clear to us and to the table to the right of us that take out is the bread and butter. We felt like an after thought. However, food was great. Recommend take out - NOT DINE IN! #foodgreatservicesucked
Visiting from out of town and was happily surprised to see a sushi place doing delivery late. We were not let down! Great sushi choices, fresh and the order was packed nicely. The rolls were on the larger side, that's not always a bad thing! Definitely recommend for your late night sushi cravings.
Great sushi and amazing red curry. Service was fast, friendly, and the place was clean. The music was a little loud and the bass would shake a nearby wall, but otherwise amazing food.
Consistently great service and food. I highly recommend their takoyaki, the combination of the sauce with the ball itself is delicious. Also the contrasting texture of the octopus and lettuce really puts it all together.
Great place
We've only ordered take out and can't wait to be able to dine in. The sushi is some of the best I've had in the city. The price is slightly higher than other places but it's definitely worth it.
Best spot in the area
delicious entrees and sushi! one of our favorite sushi spots in the city (pretty affordable, too!)
100% my go-to spot for sushi! I'm a super loyal customer
Pretty good sushi for a decent price! If doing pickup, be sure to order on their site. It's cheaper than the apps and you get a 10% pickup discount on top of it.
Probably switched recipes or chefs in back. Food is noticeably different. Still good!
Will order out and not ever dine in because young waitress is very rude!
The young man who waiters is so polite and will answer any questions and always has a great attitude!
Reasonably priced. Good food.
👍👍👍🤗
My wife got food poisoning from here. The ER doctors determined based on what she had consumed leading up to being hospitalized, her meal from Zoku was the only thing that could’ve caused it. I was hung up on when I contacted the restaurant to let them know. Will be reporting them to the health department.
I have ordered from Zoku Sushi twice, very good Sushi very fresh but so expensive for small sushi. But I do recommend this place hopefully one day to sit in their restaurant to experience their customer service.
Decent sushi in the Logan / Humboldt area, but a bunch of their employees were not wearing masks. With COVID numbers rising in Chicago, this was pretty alarming.
My order was an hour late. The food was ice cold. The miso soup was basically comparable to licking a salt shaker. The pad Thai consisted of dry glass noodles with no sauce and tough chewy beef. First and last time ordering from here.
Food was delicious
Quite pricy, but you can’t go wrong with the vegetable fried rice!
really enjoyed the sushi will go again.
Picked up an order from there the other day. None of the employees were wearing masks including the two guys preparing sushi. I probably won't be ordering from here again until the pandemic passes unless they change their policies. Food was decent.
5/16/20 take away order.
TERRIBLE!
1. Order was mixed up.
2. The Quality of maki was really AWFUL.
3. The Quality of main dishes was awful and below average.
Our recommendation: STAY AWAY!
Ordered delivery, gave us wrong order of rolls (even though on the receipt it was checked off as if it was confirmed/checked). Not only that, but one of the rolls had shrimp and I have an allergy - so dangerous! We tried calling multiple times after receiving the order but no one answered. As of right now, do not plan on ever returning, for paying a premium on sushi should not have to endure health risk and then lack of service/response.
**UPDATE** They told us they're too busy and Postmates will deal with it. ARE YOU KIDDING? They were responsible for checking off the order correctly on the receipt, not Postmates- terrible!
Disgusting food. Waste of $50

Definitely coming back! Wonderful staff, tasty sushi, and a great space 😊😊😊
Food here was delicious!! Will be back soon.
I don’t know how this place got almost 5 stars. I would describe it as “edible”. I got Lo Mein that was very salty and greasy. Got sushi another time that was just generally terrible. The rice and the vegetables were undercooked. Maybe it’s because I’m a late night eater? Maybe the late night cook is just awful...
Delicious everytime I go.
