Moved to Cary a few months ago and we were worried we wouldn't find our go to sushi place that we had near our old place. Unassuming exterior, but the decor is funky and fun when you get inside. It's spotless as a service industry veteran this is very much appreciated. Huge menu, has something for everyone, which is great since our son doesn't eat sushi much. Speaking of the sushi, it delicious, fresh and the portions are very generous. Every signature roll we have had has been a home run. The crab Rangoon are the best we have ever had and the hot and sour soup is not to be missed.

I had orange beef and it was really good. It had thin crispy strips with ba zesty orange sauce. I rate my Chinese restaurants by their crab Rangoon and these are pretty tasty. Nice and crispy with a good filling and a somewhat tangy sweet and sour. We also ordered a couple sushi rolls: Crab roll and a shrimp roll. Both were good. Price was a bit high, and service was a bit slow, but overall a very tasty and enjoyable meal

They told me 5 minutes, then after 10 more minutes, I asked them what was going on. They then told me the order never printed so they were just starting it. I spent 45 minutes waiting for the order. No apologies from the staff.

Tasty Sushi was our first dining experience since the pandemic and it did not disappoint. We had to wait a little while for table service, but after we placed our order, the food came out quickly and at the correct temperature. The salad and soup offered with the hibachi entree were standard and the hibachi entree itself was very, as the restaurant name suggests, tasty. My partner ordered the vegetable spring roll appetizer and the ninja roll, both of which he said were very good. Tasty Sushi is close to X-treme Wheels roller rink so we will be coming back to have dinner before we go skating there on Thursdays.

Every time we go to this place, it seems like we need to come back to try something else!

Not only do they have sushi, but they have Chinese and Thai entrees as well.

They also have a little bit for any appetite, the kiddo loves the orange chicken and their portions are huge, so go there on an empty stomach and you'll still have some leftovers for the day after!

Love the sushi but their menu prices are NOT what they charge you. A few of us ordered hibachi filet which the menu states is 24.95 but we were actually charged 26.95. When we asked about the discrepancy they said they adjusted their prices and would not honor their menu price. They also went on to say they've received many complaints yet have not rectified the situation. I love this place and eat here quite often but after this i may reconsider coming here. If you do I recommend you ask the actual prices as they are apparently setting arbitrary prices for menu items now.

In response to the company reply. You do not just set prices higher than the menu without notifying the customer in some manner. Even a sign at the door or a sticker on menu that says menu prices are not correct would do it but when I see a price on a menu I assumed that is the price.. No business advertises an item at a price and then charges you some arbitrary undocumented price. Next thing your menu will say $5 for the beer we got but you'll charge us $40 and say we must pay it? It doesn't work that way and as your employee says many people have complained for a reason. We come there quite a bit but are now reconsidering due to this unethical business practice. Unfortunately for your employee they received a reduced tip to compensate for this little bit of undocumented price manipulation you guys pulled

Bad update 5/15/22
So I went back today and NOT ONE thing on item is correct. They did not mention this, I had to ask. Every single thing on the menu is at least 30% higher than menu prices. They should mention this when they hand you a menu. All you can eat sushi went up from 21.99 to 29.99 over the last week also. Looks like I'll be looking for an new sushi place sadly. Not sure what was going on in their heads today but we were the only people in there today and no take out orders were coming out either. 5 of us were sat down and a server didn't come by for at least 10 minutes.

He finally came by and took our orders. Most of us got our food in a timely manner (With the exception of my all you can eat order of sushi). 10 minutes later another couple comes in. 20 minutes later they get their food but my sushi is nowhere to be seen. They were just standing there at this point. We went to the server and asked where mine was and they said it was right there on the counter! Turns out they were waiting for one of my other rolls to finish (It had to be fried) before the other rolls came out. Why in gods name not walk 2 of the 3 finished rolls over to the table so I can eat w/ my table? Needless to say they were long done before I even started and it was very disappointed.

I asked why this wasn't just brought to me when done and bring the other by when it was done which would seem logical to most. They apologized and later brought me a drink. Problem is, I wasn't drinking alcohol so that did me no good. A reduction in bill, or better yet charging me the rate for all you can eat sushi from a week ago rather than the 36% inflated price this week would have been preferable.

I always love getting Tasty Sushi. The volcano roll is my favorite. Delivery is always timely and when dining in, the atmosphere is lovely, plus the staff is friendly

Nice place to visit although it seemed like it had just been cleaned it didn't affect the flavor of the food,very empress with the server not needing to write the order down, the servers really add a taste to authenticity...and very patient with the language barrier.. not "fancy" but definitely beautiful inside. Totally will return.

Slow service with just an OK food.

Good local Chinese take out place. The only critique would be to to change the sesame chicken recipe because it looked and tasted exactly like the orange chicken with a few sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Sesame chicken meat was tough too, we were disappointed with that dish. Otherwise we will be back to try more things off the menu.

Took a long time to finally try Tasty Sushi. Very happy we finally did. Love their regular rolls and signature rolls. Anything we’ve ordered, we’ve enjoyed. Happy to have a great spot like this nearby!

Went into this strip mall restaurant with low expectations, then was completely blown away by the inexpensive lunch special sushi/sashimi combo with HUGE pieces of sashimi and a beautiful floral display. Wow.

Plus points for the $5 margarita special.

They forgot soy sauce wasabi and ginger I’m not sure who can eat sushi without but I need it. Had to go to a local sushi restaurant in my neighborhood for these garnishes. Very inconvenient. Volcano roll is good but the rolls are too big to fit in mouth.

I’ve had Tasty Sushi many times now and they never miss. The Fire Dragon Roll is one the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had. Very tasty indeed. Also very friendly staff and fast service. Lots of great options with a lot of variety. This is my wife and I’s “go-to” restaurant. Highly recommend!

While in the one hand I was super excited to find Thai food the dishes fell flat. My shrimp and noodles dish was terribly overcooked and lacked seasoning or flavor whatsover,the crab Rangoon sauce tasted like something that came out of a plastic bottle my boyfriend dish had some redeemable qualities,The fact that they serve prefabricated sauce makes me 😡 angry .Will I order from there again? No,definitely not

Name's speaks for itself the sushi is TASTY. Clean environment, soda fountain might be using a little too much syrup but who cares I came for sushi. Best sashimi I've had in Illinois and I've been to a few places. Nice rich red center with good texture. Smells nice in the place and the staff are welcoming. That Santa in the front gotta go tho🤣🤣🤣.

Not a bad place to get sushi. I would have given 5 stars but I did experience some rubbery rice one time when I ordered. I've gone back since then and had no issues. Maybe just a bad batch or something that one time. Staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is almost like a high end restaurant so it is calming and relaxing. Good overall and tasty too.

We sat for 30 minutes before walking out because nobody took our order. The staff seemed to focus more on takeout orders. The one star is for the water they served us immediately after we were seated. Afterwards we were never acknowledged, even as we got up to leave. We went to Kumi Sushi on 31, much better choice.

This is probably the best value for sushi that I have had in a long time. We had the Sushi and Sashimi platter and the portions were great and the quality of the fish was fantastic. Our waitstaff was fantastic, friendly and attentive. So polite. Will most certainly come back to enjoy more options. Their menu has quite a variety.

Great sashimi and sushi, especially the Sweetheart roll. It's been great to go, but dining in you can appreciate the work they put into presentation. Snow White roll with Salmon and Yellowtail shown below..

Great sushi and great food all around

Three dishes are in this order. The two sushi rolls were adequate, but warm (in the same bag as hot food upon pickup). The third dish was shrimp Pad Thai. This dish I have had often; one of my favorites. Not here, not ever again. The noodles were mush, had the dish been thoroughly mixed with the enclosed veggies, shrimp, and egg it would have been much better. It would have not stuck together like a lump. Absolutely no flavor. This dish presentation result does not speak well of this food culture. Asian food is at the least usually reasonable. This totally failed. Would suggest checking food before departure. I did not. I ate outside to enjoy the nice weather. Within 15 minutes after picking it up. I did request a 45 minute wait before picking up. The receptionist said it would be 15 minutes initially. Maybe the message was not carried through. There was no one else in the restaurant. Perhaps an indication of its quality. I certainly hope not. I will order elsewhere next time though.

Tasty sushi feels like a hidden gem! Their tofu pad Thai is amazing and their service is always amazing! It’s a blend of so much Asian cuisine my only problem with them is that their name stopped me from coming in sooner because I thought it was all sushi!

Lunch Bento is 👏 amazing! A lot of fresh delicious food for the same price as fast food.
I had a savory steak teriyaki bento with fried rice and ginger salad. (It comes with sushi and I think it was tofu bites, I don't even really know but they were banging 🤤, and veggies)
So many others to try.

We used to go here frequently until a few weeks ago went for "All you can eat sushi". They loaded each sushi with TONS of rice, wanting you to fill up on the rice. It's a shame as we used to love this place. Won't go back!

Tasty sushi is a good lunch for sushi and Chinese as well. The dinner is a bit pricey, and includes Tai food as well. It was clean and had had good service.

We ordered carry out. I had Mongolian beef, spring rolls, and hot/sour soup. The spring rolls were good, I liked the dipping sauce, the soup was good as well. However, the Mongolian beef was too salty! That may be an understatement. The beef was cooked well, but the sauce was just plain too salty. I realize this dish can be on the salty side, but this smacked me in the face. I'm hoping it was an error and not the normal preparation.

The staff here is so disgusting and will never go there again&invade the privacy If you don't tip more than 40 percent, don't come and 15 percent tips are posted online to mock you

Looks like it is under new management.
Early Friday evening and they were out of Yellowtail, so I had to wait 20 minutes for it to defrost
I then decide to wait for it, and I ordered my usual, Midori Sake. The Midori had spoiled and was rancid. I tell the wait staff and their manager tells me I must be wrong because they sold out to a man a couple of days ago and it was fine. My years of experience didn't count, I guess.

I've been meaning to try this place since they opened but just never got there because my husband isn't into sushi. First, let me just say they are WAY more than just sushi. Second, if you live in Cary, you know our Chinese food options aren't generally great... Well, problem solved!
Their menu is HUGE covering Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine (ramen, noodle dishes and classic Chinese dishes) plus, of course, sushi.
Their spring rolls came with a home made duck sauce that was amazing. Their egg drop soup had the proper "thicker" consistency that I had given up finding in this area. The sushi was excellent, the curry fried rice to die for and their kung pao chicken had great flavor (I didn't ask for it spicy so that's on me). We'll be ordering from them again!!

The table setting was dirty, the table was sticky, service didn't known what they were doing and the salmon came out green. It's forever on my no go list

Terrible service, waitresses just sit on their phones and the Pad Tai was rotten and off tasting and they wouldn't remove it from the check. Only gave a 20% discount. Will never be coming here again or recommending it to anyone.

Well, only took 2.5 hours to get my food delivered. Sushi rice is under cooked, possibly just plain white rice. Fish was good. Maybe worth 3 stars if they could get food delivered in a reasonable amount of time, but realistically 2 at best. 70 bucks and 3 hours later, lesson learned.

We love to visit it with the family. Tasty food, very clean place, nice personnel. Strongly recommend.

Tasty Sushi has amazing sushi and rolls! Even during Covid, we had delivery and it was still fantastic! The all you can eat when dining in is an awesome deal too! But bring your appetite!

Uber canceled my order but Tasty Sushi still delivered to me. They drove all the way to round lake. When they lived in the opposite direction. Definitely going to give them my business again! Thanks so much!

I love this place. The spring rolls are unbelievable. Spicy Chicken was great. We also ordered Hibachi Chicken and the chicken was rock hard. Obviously left over from the day before. Very disappointing.

Bland bland bland - Kung Pao Shrimp lacks, well everything - flavorless, stale peanuts, no sign of hot chilies anywhere- Tom Yum is a lager bowl of under seasoned dish water with absolutely no heat. This is a moderately expensive miss.

the sushi was incredible! we loved it and would definitely eat it again. However I also ordered the chicken fried rice as well and the chicken was so undercooked and rubbery the rice also had little to no flavor. after a couple of bites we threw it out because it was so gross. maybe thats why its called tasty sushi and not tasty fried rice.

First time trying them and wasn’t happy with the sushi. Super tiny rolls barely any sushi inside. For the price they should be way bigger. Asked for sides of spicy mayo. Barely got any of that. They just filled only the bottom of the container. Will not go back.

Chicken pad Thai is horrible , no peanuts, no egg.. nothing but noodles and chicken mixed with some red spicy saucy.... I have no idea how this restaurant rates a 4.5 .

Carry out - Everything was so good and really good portions.

Our family visit several times a week, lunch for just there two of us, dinner with the family and friends. We love the food, staff and ambiance. The hibachi is delicious, shrimp tempura with vegetables is outstanding and the rolls are fresh and delicious! Don't forget the pot stickers, crab rangoon and the VOLCANO ROLL! You all do a great job!

Slow service, over 25 minutes for a pickup order shortly after they opened. Watched the chef cough on someones order. Possibly mine. 3 Rolls were just ok and only got enough wasabi for one roll. Probably wont go back.

100 bucks. We live 5 mins away and they said it take an hr to drop off missing food. Hibachi was loaded with garlic that I tasted no vegetables. Love seafood, but the seafood soup tasted of bad fish. Spicy food was packed with non spicy, which does not work for everyone. Being super hungry we ate the food anyway. My stomach regrets.

One positive is the shrimp tasted good.
