I ordered delivery. I started a Quest for the Best Mongolian Beef and I believe my quest has ended. The first restaurant didn't work out, and then China Dragon 1 was recommended. So, I quickly ordered the Mongolian Beef and this restaurant did not disappoint. There was a big portion of beef! So many other restaurants around here put way too much vegetables. China Dragon gives you a big portion of beef and vegetables! Not too much vegetables but enough to flavor the meal. The sauce and spice is perfect too and brings back memories of all the good Chinese restaurants in Chicago back in the day. Since their Mongolian Beef was perfect you can bet the other menu items are going to be great! I'll continue to rank other restaurants, but China Dragon is my #1.

It's a carry out place. It does have a couple tables if you want to eat there. Their food is very, very good. And they give you good sized portions. It's kind of like an Asian fusion place. It's got a few Filipino dishes and the different regions of Chinese food. Our representative here and the owners they're really nice people.

This place used to be great. Has really gone downhill. Was given rancid beef fried rice in my takeout order. We didn't smell it until it was already mixed with our other items on a plate. Called to complain. They wanted me to bring the rice back. When I told them that was ridiculous, they agreed to refund the rice only. I guess we just wasted $50 for nothing. They didn't even offer an apology. Bad business.

Food was the bomb.com!! The staff is friendly and the best of all the food came out HOT and FAST!!

Almost $7 for crab Rangoon and they don’t want to provide any sauce. Also ordered spring rolls and egg rolls and asked for dipping sauce twice. They said they put it in the bag and saw that they did indeed provide an ounce container of sauce. Gourmet House is down the street and not as stingy and has better food.

Veggie Rice is great

09/2024 update, was having a rushed day so i online ordered....so distracted that i ordered it wrong!! By the time I realized my husband was already on hisway to get it. I called and said have you already made it? They said yes, why did i ask. So i explained what happened, but told them i wasn't upset as i like what i accidentally ordered! They said "ok". You guessed it, it was remade by the time my husband got there. How nice is that???
Everything is amazing . First off they are so excellent with the covid situation. We got the egg foo young there because because our no longer favorite restaurant was closed. Thank heavens they did. I have NEVER had such a light and delicious egg food young in my entire life. It's do good you're afraid to try anything else!Then I find out they have curry?? Holy crap. Fresh veggies and the mushrooms, the chicken incredibly moist and delicious. My son had the kimchi, husband the sweet and sour chicken. We got the dinner specials, which, of course was a huge amount of food...egg rolls perfect, egg drop soup amazing, the chicken fried rice so yummy 😋. All of it under $30. Great food great service.

Food is mediocre Too salty...but manageable. The place is unable to follow simple directions. They always forget to put sauces on the side, and will ask you to come back to pick them up. I would stay away.

great food, great portions, easy & straightforward customer service!

My husband and I are from Chicago and we have lived out here for 10 years it took such a long time to find a great Chinese place over here. I’m glad we finally found one, their food is always delicious and fresh. Definitely Recommend getting your Chinese food from here!!

I recently moved here to Algonquin (Randall & Algonquin) and can honestly say this is my favorite Chinese takeout so far. I have a big family, so I typically spend 45ish dollars for four lunch specials (comes with soup and eggrolls on the side) and a free order of crab rangoon (online order promo). Typically feeds 4 small kids and wife & I. I also have a ton left over. I recommend beef chow fun, general Tso or Mongolian beef. Also would like to add, most of the time when I place a order online (around 1pm) it's usually ready by the time I get there or just shortly after. I recommend to anyone in the Algonquin area.

Friendly and food is good especially beef brocolli and beef chow fun, must try!

Only thing keeping this place from being popular is the lack of ppl,,, it basically has everything else 🙏🏼

Me and my friends love this place. Fast service and you can see them preparing the food right in front of you. I've had a lot of the different sushi available and it's been amazing every time. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.

This is our go-to Chinese restaurant in the area! Delicious food and the bubble teas are amazing!

We've been ordering from them off and on for approximately 8 years. Food was good which is why we kept coming back. However over the past 6 months or so the quality has gone downhill. The Mongolian beef is more like Mongolian vegetables. The egg rolls are barely crispy. The appetizer platter....shrimp toast was burnt. Other shrimp overcooked and the chicken was very tough. The manager said she would give us something next time we ordered. However what should have been offered was some measure of a refund for providing food that was inedible. Why would we continue to order from them? This has become ridiculous at best.

Great amount of food for the money

Overall, a solid 4 stars. We found out about this place during the pandemic. It's the best of the 3 closet Chinese takeout near us. We've never been disappointed. I really like their Singapore noodles. The orange chicken isn't bad either. The fried rice is decent too. This place is one of our go-to places when we don't feel like cooking, but still want some leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day.

So glad my husband and I found this place today ! Since it was our fist time here, the person at the counter gladly explained everything. Food was amazing. Now this will be our spot for Chinese food.

Coming back to edit with an Aug 2023 update:

We went back for a re-do. They are still using Styrofoam to-go containers, BUT! You now have a server again. And man oh man, are we so glad we've gone back. The food was AMAZING. If you love good Chinese food, take the ride out. Updating my star's to 5, they deserve it.

We had been visiting since 2016, usually 2xs per month. We loved the food & staff. After covid (2021) this place is not the same. It's time to go back to normal. Bring back having a server. Bring back eating on plates for God's sake! No one wants to sit in a restaurant and eat out of a takeout container. For the love of God its 2023! We will not be returning until you are the China Dragon One we know & love.

Awesome spot to get some Chinese or Thai food. Not super greasy, honestly the best spot around Algonquin/ Lake in the hills area for me. My go to is the chicken pad Thai or Black pepper beef. Check out their Taro bubble tea too

Lovely place , Great staff I ordered the beef on the stick and chicken fried rice .The rice was perfectly cooked not too watery and not to burnt and great ratio with veggies , rice and meat .the beef on the stick was just ok but not astonishing but no bad comments. Great overall when visiting Illinois def come here!

One of the best Chinese food I ever ate in my life when I eat the chicken lo mein and and the fried rice it gave me a taste of my childhood chicken with very good and juicy my whole family loved it I will totally recommend.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. I’ve ordered literally close to 100 times and have rarely had to wait more than 20-25 minutes, it’s super quick. Most importantly the food is absolutely delicious!!! I would not pay any attention to the bad reviews because rarely an order could take longer or get messed up but most of the time it’s perfect! Take it from someone who has been ordering from here for years!

I ordered one of the house specialties, Orange Chicken. I drove to the restaurant to pick up the order. I had to wait an extra 20 minutes. total time was 50 minutes.
I got the order and drove home and it was not orange chicken. It was beef and broccoli. I double checked my receipt and order and it should have been orange chicken.
I did not want to drive back and wait again so I decided to eat the beef broccoli. But the beef was mushy and bland. Overall it was a big disappointment.

Our first order here a few weeks ago was great. Tonight we ordered one of the same dishes and the chicken was the texture of soggy bread. Ate a bunch before deciding to look closer, and it's definitely raw or something very wrong.

Asked for no egg in the fried rice (allergy). Still had lots of egg in it.

Called the restaurant to get a refund and they refunded the chicken and half the cost of fried rice because "we don't know where you typed that, we don't see it in the receipt." That'll be the web site's fault not mine. China Dragon's own site, mind you.

I just ate a bunch of raw chicken from your restaurant, the entire meal should have been free at the very least. Awful.

Used to really like their food but then in our cashew chicken dish there was an unbelievably spicy hot oil or some kind of spice that kept me at the water faucet for 20 minutes! Very dangerous, thought I was going to have to go to an ER! And if a child had eaten some I can't even imagine the repercussions! Never had an experience like that in all the years I've eaten Chinese food. So, not at China Dragon ever again.

I have been eating here now over 5 yrs, and never before found food that tastes as good as they make it here, and none better. I've been coming here now for last 6 years and love it every time. Our favorite. I am blown away by the egg-drop soup, to start. Sushi is also superb.

The food here has always been good, and from the very start of lockdown they found innovative ways to continue serving their customers. The staff of China Dragon has refined no-contact Service to an art.

First time we ate here...by far the best Chinese we have had yet (we have tried 4 places). Good portion of meat. Try the chili chicken... my new favorite!

After trying to find a new chinese place that had good beef fried rice after my Fav place changed owners, I tried this place. It was AMAZING. This will be my go to place for fried rice. My only "complaint" is they don't have spring rolls, only egg rolls, But still good enough to be my new go-to.

I have been ordering takeout from here at least once a month for 5 years. Huge portions of delicious food. The dinner specials will feed you for a few meals. Orange Chicken, Sweet & Sour chicken, Beef Chow Fun, and Spicy Chili Chicken are my favorites. Crab rangoon are great and you can't beat their vegetable egg rolls.

I am a fried rice kind of guy and I’ll tell you...their fried rice is simply amazing!! One of the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten. I highly suggest you try eating at this restaurant!!

Typical Chinese food, but with the addition of a few other Southeastern Asian dishes. This is the only place in the area with decent chow fun, one of my favorites.

There was construction outside of the door. I should have taken that as a hint to leave. The prices of what I wanted changed 3x as I waited, she kept trying to throw in an entree. And an Egg Roll to keep that new price.
