I like the inside, it’s nice and updated looking. The panag curry was amazing. The ramen was good too. But there was a special that was incredibly delicious, it’s a dish i haven’t seen before and unfortunately don’t remember the name. But I think it had duck in it!

Have to update my review as of my last visit. I've been there more than 2 dozen times and I always order the beef pho. They bring it to me they bring the hot peppers and the sides and the hoisin sauce and it's perfection and the service is usually spot on. This last visit though I sit down with me and my wife we order an appetizer and our entrees and as I'm ordering the girl asked me how spicy I want my pho I said I don't know I've never been asked that question before that must be new and she proceeded to talk to me like I was a moron and said that's how they've always done it and I go I don't know I guess a three. So we go on with the rest of the meal all of a sudden our entrees are there but no appetizer to which she says it will be out in a minute. She walks away and I'm like can I get some hoisin sauce and she brings me the chili oil which is fine because the spice level isn't where I wanted it and I don't know what they've added to this to make the spice level what it is so I correct her again for hoisin sauce so finally I get the hoisin sauce and I start eating my meal and my drink runs out and she only has me and one other table cuz she's already given the tickets to all the other tables and she proceeds to take care of her own lunch plate and leave me without a drink for pretty much the entire time I'm there also my wife never got a refill when it was time for her drink either. so we only got one refill the entire visit. So anyways about 5 minutes after we're already into our entrees our appetizer comes. The food was very delicious as usual I do have to comment the last few times I've been there the amount of pho noodles and beef I have gotten in my entree has been significantly less but I still leave satisfied. Overall I will be back but I hope the service changes.

The Duck Noodle soup is amazing and must try. All the other items we ordered tasted great too. Service is quick and attentive.

It's like they forgot to use soy sauce or any spices. Otherwise it was only rice, green onion, and oil--couldn't detect any egg. I did take out and the counter service was polite and food came out quick, but those are the only good things I can say.

Underwhelming and Disappointing:

-I got the Beef pho at a spice level of 2 which tasted like a 4. They also “forgot” (as the cook told the manager after my complaint) to give me a side plate of the veggies it comes with (the bean sprouts and what not). My issue with this act of forgetfulness was that they only took notice after I noticed another customer had these on her plate (this lady came in 20 minutes after my husband and I).
- It’s weird that the cook forgot because it was just us and one other family of three for a little while. The restaurant was empty when we got in and there was barely anyone but the additional family and lady that joined.
- After making the complaint after our meal (since this was when I only took notice) I was offered a free appetizer by the manager which I greatly appreciated. I got the crab Rangoon but soon felt regret as they were the worst we’ve ever had. They were fried way too quickly and this caused them to have a burnt taste on the outside. The inside had the weirdest mushy texture and it almost felt like pre-chewed food (weird but that’s the best description of the texture I could think of). In short it was terrible.
-Our waitress, while sweet, seemed to have her thoughts all over the place. I almost felt sorry for her because she seemed to be confused or anxious in thought which caused her to bill us $64 instead of $34 for our order. It was only after my husband exclaimed at the bill that I noticed she added two additional dishes to our tab. How this happened is still a surprise because again, there were only 4 other people that came in much later than us.

Stopped here since a close by restaurant had a wait on Friday. They were able to get us in right away. Got the pad Thai here a few days ago. It was good, nothing outstanding. The service was limited despite not being busy, our water was not filled up at all, it took a long time to get the check, but the restaurant was cute, the food came out quick, and the portion size was big.

Great food! Definitely recommend if you like ramen!

Visiting from out of town for staff meeting and stumbled across this place. An amazing find for Pocatello. The did was delicious and the staff were super friendly. They made suggestions and went above with great customer service. The Ramen was to die for with broth made from scratch. I highly recommend you stop for some high quality food.
10/24/24 update: I still love this place. The food is amazing and the service wonderful. Had fresh spring rolls, green curry and Thai iced tea. It was so good! The tea was a wonderful contrast to the slight spiciness of the curry. Highly recommend.

This is definitely one of my family’s favorite places to eat dinner. Ley is amazing! She remembers all of our orders everytime and is just so nice and helpful. The food is always amazing and comes out super quick.

We went to lunch here, my daughter got ramen and I got orange chicken. We were not impressed with either, but especially disappointed in the orange chicken. It tasted as if they haven’t changed their frying oil in weeks. It was awful. I always hate giving these kind of reviews but want to forewarn others. Service and atmosphere was good though.

My favorites are the chicken or beef "FU", or spicy eggplant, and especially the sweet and sour chicken. It's amazing food. It's a little pricey but worth it if you want the best. Nice people, most of them; sometimes their English could be better as it was hard to order once or twice. Fresh, modern place. They could be faster to seat and serve. Their prices seem about 1 dollar too much for what you get, but you get a lot. Their brown rice is great!

Such a hidden gem that we stumbled upon while passing through Pocatello. The Khao Soi was almost enough to transport us back to Thailand and the red curry was incredibly flavorful and the perfect spice. The cherry on top was the lovely staff! We will make it a point to stop next time we’re passing through!

First time here. The atmosphere is great. Nice and updated, chic. The waitress was quick, gave us some suggestions and even gave me a to-go Diet Coke (without asking)!
I got fried wonton and chicken satay with a (huge) side of jasmine rice.
My husband got sweet and sour pork.
The food was plated beautifully. I loved the small cucumber salad that came with the chicken satay. The chicken wontons had some nice garnish and the sauce was great.
Overall a good experience and fun night out with friends.

Food was decent, service was absolutely the worst service I've had in at least 10 years. And I constantly I'm dining out because I travel literally 4 days out of the week. Waitress dropped off the food never came back My water was empty when she dropped it off I specifically asked for more water and it was never received. I asked her again as she was walking by and she definitely heard me because she looked at me but I still never got more water. Absolutely 100% unacceptable for my waitress I don't know if it's laziness that she wanted to go back and watch the TV and talk to her coworker what she was doing most the time or if it's a lack of training. A server MUST be looking at people's beverages and getting them refills or offering another.

Previously, the Tonkotsu has been spot on with soft egg yolk and tender pork. Somehow they managed to serve dry, tough pork belly and 5 cakey dry yolks. Eggs so tasty in the past I always order extra. I regret that tonight. From the smell to the texture it took over any chance of enjoying the noodles and broth. The broth was good, but it couldn't save the chashu pork. Gin Sen can do better.

Had the potential to be good food. Started out with appetizers, calamari and crab rangoon. Sadly the calamari was actually octopus that was breaded and fried. I thought I was getting chicken strips at first! Until I bit into it and it was super chewy. Crab rangoon was okay. I had the pineapple rice with pork for main course. The portions were large, but the food just didn't seem to quite have the Zing it could have had. My date had some other dish I can't remember the name of, but she really didn't eat any of it because it was very hot inside and she lost her appetite. Said she'd eat it later but I never heard back. Beer selection was good

My wife and I have eaten at Gin sen at least two dozen times. The food is always phenomenal and the customer service is always terrible. I really wish I could give this place five stars because it was our favorite pho place but every time we go in they give us dirty looks when we ask for gluten-free noodles for my wife. She has a gluten allergy and cannot eat them otherwise she has an allergic reaction. This didn't seem to matter and we finally just found a new place to go because the customer service did not improve. We were loyal customers but we will not be back. Quite possibly the worst customer service we've ever had at any restaurant. It is a real shame because we have recommended it to multiple people for how good the food is.

My family and I were passing through Pocatello and decided to have dinner here. Didn’t have high expectations due to small town but surprisingly all the food we ordered were delicious!! Definitely will come back again when we pass through this town! One downside was the appetizers. Small portion and although it tasted fine, we could care less about it. We’ll probably skip it next time and order more entrees.

One of the best restaurants in Pocatello. Simple, clean, but great food. If you have no idea what to get, just get the Pad Thai. Theirs is very solid. If you have had pad thai but don’t know what else to try, get the Kho Soi. Trust me.

Great atmosphere and service

Ordered takeout. Excellent service, it was ready to go when I got there. Food was hot and well packaged. I ordered tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. The ramen was super flavorful. I don't really understand people who are saying it's bland. If you are used to eating real food and not processed food all the time, it had plenty of flavor. All of the toppings added beautiful texture to the broth and chewy noodles. Broth was almost creamy and umami, with just the right amount of salt. The takoyaki had a lightly crisp exterior and creamy center. A lot of their flavor comes from the toppings, which include mayo (similar to kupi mayo), a salty sweet sauce that tasted a bit like 5 spice, and bonito flakes (fish flakes....they taste very strongly of fish, as you would expect). Overall, great experience, delicious food, will definitely eat here again.

This was my family's first time here. Very friendly staff. Delicious food. I had the duck curry and it was by far my favorite curry I've tried. We will definitely be going back.

The inside of the restaurant is beautifully designed. It has a very positive vibe. Our waitress was very sweet and thorough. However, my husband and I did not love our food. I got the Pad Thai and it barely had any sauce on it and the flavor was dull. My husband got the Ramen and said it was just okay. It is possible that we went on an off night or that we didn't make the best choice when it came to our food.

Gin Sen has quickly become one of our favorite places to eat out. And I can honestly say the best Thai food place in town. I love their orange chicken with fried rice and the Pad See Ew. These are both of my go to favorites. I also really enjoy the Spicy Catfish if it's available.

The food is delicious and well presented. Most of the dishes are cooked and prepared very quickly. I was impressed with the freshness of their ingredients! I liked how much food you get as well. It seems to be worth what you pay for.

One critique I do have is regarding their spiciness levels. They vary drastically day to day and with who is cooking. The scale is from 1-5 with 5 being the most spicy. The Pad See Ew I like to order can vary drastically with each other. No matter if I get a 1 or a 2 it can be very spicy for me. Meanwhile my girlfriend described her red curry as not quite being spicy enough for her at a 4 but some days it's spicy enough at a 4. The orange chicken also varies drastically! I usually get a 1 because of the variety in spice levels but sometimes there isn't any spice in the dish at all! Other times I'll bump it up to a 2 and the spice levels are ridiculous so bad I would call it a 4 on the scale. Most of the time the spice levels aren't so bad you can eat it.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and have offered to take the food back if spicy levels aren't to your liking. I would have liked for them to be a little more vocal about the spicy levels tho. Sometimes they don't even ask and I have no idea what that means for what comes out of the kitchen.

My husband and I were passing through and we found this little gem. Food was fantastic, came out quick and the staff were friendly and very attentive.

Lunch dine-in in a party of four introduced me to this restaurant. My lunch special of yellow curry with chicken was good. Good rating for the two Tonkotsu Ramen especially the one with pork belly. Saw the special menu on the board. Will return to order dinner takeout.

Came back to order takeout for dinner. Tried the spicy catfish and the deep fried crunchy prawns with garlic-pepper. Both dishes were excellent. The catfish was in boneless slices and the seasonings were hot and spicy with red and green bell peppers and basil. The prawns were large and butterflied and came with a spicy basil sauce. Could be better if deep fried more, to be truly crunchy. Excellent overall. Served with rice.

I’m very neutral about this place. It’s not bad food, it’s just nothing to write home about either. When they first opened I was really excited about having a ramen bar. The ramen is just ok. I’ve eaten here at least half a dozen times since and every time I just feel that it’s, just ok.

First time going, it was amazing. Walked in got our drinks immediately and took our order quick. The food was fantastic, I was skeptical at first because I didn't know what the food was going to be like. I would definitely recommend going there! My wife and I will be going back all the time.

Went here with my wife and (10 month) child. The kiddo was of course wanting to walk everywhere and look at everything. The older lady was very pleasant and attentive to my kids needs and wants. We were just in town for one night and wanted to try some Ramen. Upon arrival, we were informed the Ramen Chef had to leave. Understandable, but disappointing. Ordered beef pho. It was okay. We also offered some curry. It was also okay. The dumplings were fantastic!

One of my favorite restaurants in Pocatello. The food is unique and is made with fresh ingredients. You can add spice to your taste and I especially love that the pho comes with fresh additions on the side. It is perfection! The orange chicken tastes like fresh orange and the glaze is just right. Those are my two favorite dishes here but I have loved everything I've eaten. It is family friendly with plenty of seating and all of the staff are so sweet and attentive! It is sparkling clean, and even the bathroom here smells good.

Omgosh what are we eating??? I'm no expert of thai cooking, but this was really awful. I had ordered Curry with pork that was rubber & fatty, potatoes were hard as rock and four slices of a carrot. My partner ordered sweet and sour with chicken he took two bites and he was done. They did offer to exchange our order but we refused, received no discount.

The orange chicken, service and place is fantastic. Gets busy on the weekends yet easy to order online and pick up. Never had to wait long. Just ask for spicy here in Pocatello I’m sure they have had to tone down the original spicy of there dishes. I get 4 spice it’s amazing.

Great ramens, and following Covid19 protocols! Yummy.

This spot drastically lowered my hopes for the Pocatello area. If you want authentic ramen, this place is not the way to go. I ordered some food, and the food that was brought to me was not what I ordered on the menu. They forgot half of the ingredients that was supposed to be with my food. The food also had hardly any flavor, and the mannerisms at that place was sub-par.

Visited today for lunch with a friend. The waitress was friendly but unkept. Her hair appeared dirty and she definitely needed make-up. When you work with the public, especially serving food, you should not look like you just rolled out of bed but that’s Pocatello for you. Sad. We ordered orange chicken and fried rice. Orange chicken had no flavor at all, no orange. Skimpy on the sauce. I do not recommend this dish! Ugh! Rice was flavorless and uneventful and we needed Sriacha just to finish what we could of the food. I will not be back to this place. Once is enough when service is mediocre and food was flavorless. I see why restaurants are closing right and left in Pocatello, they should with this quality.

We ordered the spicy fried rice and fried spring rolls. Spring rolls were awesome. Definitely recommend it. Fried rice had a little over powering taste from soy sauce and sticky rice. Make sure you get spicy level 4 or 5 otherwise it is really bland tasting.

Great food with huge portions. This is my go to restaurant in Pocatello!

Definitely a must try! Everything that I have ordered here has been delicious and fresh! This was our 3rd or 4th visit! Won’t be out last! This is sake with appetizers and then the shrimp sukiyaki, I was skeptical but in the end very impressed!
