Thai & Laotian specialties offered in a relaxed strip-mall setting with a BYO option.
The food and service were incredible. I had the Pad Thai and my husband had the Drunkard Noodles. The medium spice was spicy so beware if you don’t have a high spice tolerance! The Spring rolls were so good too! No free soda refills unfortunately. Good size portions. Overall 9/10.
My wife is Thai from near the Lao border. This place is some of the best Thai food on the island, and that’s saying a lot. The evil jungle curry is my favorite, but their fried whole fish is fantastic too. I’ve had most items on the menu, nothing disappointed.
Really incredible service. Our waiter went to great lengths to confirm our order and the cook prepared excellent vegan versions of several dishes for our family. The food at Thai Lao is top tier among all we’ve had- across the globe.
We went three times in our week vacation here because the food was so good, and also because our server treated us like welcome guests. Highly recommend!
I give them 4.5 stars. Flavors were good and authentic. Decent portions and price but i do have complaints. I was never asked how spicy i wanted the dishes and they came out with no spice but thats not a problem i just requested some chili flakes. They actually charge you extra to get the food "thai spicy" and then even more for "lao spicy" which is weird to me. Sticky rice was an extra $3.50 which is fine but the rice was very yellow indicating it is not fresh. Oahu has better Thai food in general than all of the other islands. This place is good but service is so so. I would still come here again for the flavors though. The Thai Tea was good also. Not watered down and full of flavor.
Its Wicked Wahine Wednesday! My Mom & sisters always get together for lunch!
Thai Lao was the choice! Excellent quality food & quantity, always fresh!!
The fried chicken was delicious & hot & crispy! The lemongrass beef stir-fry was something different but loved it..
The Best Tom Yum soup!!
Very upsetting. I ordered papaya salad Lao style (Lao extra spicy) for pickup. I had called earlier before asking how much it was and they said $15. When I came to pick it up they charged me an extra $5 for extra spicy!!! That’s a ridiculous! They should’ve told me they would charge extra for the spice level. I paid $20 for a papaya salad. They don’t even put shrimps in it or anything for the extra charge.

Who is willing to pay $2 more per item to order pickup... That's ridiculous... I love the food, but pickup or delivery is nuts

Some of the best Thai we have ever had!
Food very good. Pad thai was a little too sweet but overall 👍
This was the worst I have ever had. I love Thai, however this tasted like it was made by 3rd graders with no cooking experience. Ordered green curry and it was mostly white and heavy. It tasted nothing like green curry and flavorless. There was an odd taste. I ended up tossing it after one bite. I hate wasting food but this was horrible. I had another dish and it was supposed to be spicy. You know how you order the same thing at so many places you know when something just isn’t right? Their Pad Se Ew had no pepper flakes, a strange sauce taste and the noodles were heavily clumped together. I requested beef but it was hardly there. What was there was hard to chew. This was a total miss and felt like they were trying to fool people who may not know better. We have been eating Thai for over 30 years and this ain’t it.
Ordered on uber eats from aulani, so fire. This is a must!!
10/10 for me as a Thai I really love their food
Waitress isn't great. Don't eat here if you're looking for authentic Thai or Lao food. I guess they're used to serving people who don't know what Thai/Lao food tastes like.
Green curry tasted like vomit. Spring rolls were flavorless.
Amazing flavor, Tom Yum, Pad Se-ew beef, Panang Curry chicken and Jasmine rice, excellent! Constant customers coming in for carry out. Can’t wait to go back.Best Thai food I’ve eaten.
I really wanted to like this place after reading all the great reviews, but we were unfortunately a bit disappointed. We did not like the chicken; and I personally prefer chicken breast instead of thighs. There's also no free refill on the drinks- or at least we weren't "offered any".
What a Gem
The food is delicious, one of the best Thai food I have tasted. Love the Thai Tea 🧋 , summer rolls and peanut sauce and Pad Thai
Absolutely a gem in the rough... one of the top meals I have ever had, that was Thai. The taste was amazing!!! Drunken noodles and Pineapple curry. Really decent prices. Seriously, so good!!!
Underwhelming and off for taste and authenticity. A poor choice for Thai food.
Good place to have your family party
It got too expensive just to eat something. Uber is your best friend.Service is good. Atmosphere need more space to move around. But they will do you good just ask service is amazing they fix it up for your needs. Food is as good as day one. 5 stars
I’m done with this place. The food is OK, but parking is a nightmare. You can’t rely on their posted hours, they have been closed twice when we went during their “open” hours. Supa Thai, just down the street, is a better option.
Great Thai food! Personalized per request, spice level adjusted as needed.. hands down the best Thai place on island!
Ordered take out drunken noodles and WOW it’s so good. Just BEWARE the mild even be spicy, DO NOT GO UP IN SPICE UNLESS YOU REALLY CAN HANDLE !! But really good !!
Food was super tasty, however, I was bothered that rice was not included with the curries. Making you pay another 3.50 for a small container of rice feels like a bit much.
It was a pretty decent place. The staff were very kind and quick with their service. The food was a solid 4 out of 5 and the flavors were very tasty. We ordered the masamam curry with tofu. While I do prefer other Thai restaurants in the area, I would happily go back and try this again.
Dropped in one day just for Thai iced coffee which was yummy, went back for lunch. I got the tom yum fried rice which was excellent, my friend had sweet and sour stir fry which she really liked. There are 5 levels of spiciness: mild, medium, hot, Thai hot and Lao hot. She got mild, I got medium and added their chili crispy garlic oil and it was just right. Portion was enough for takeaway too. Will go back to try more dishes. Good service too. Highly recommended.
Update, went back and had larb, it was excellent!
We’ve enjoyed this food for years… problem is that quality has gone downhill and the prices are now astronomical… such a bummer…
The food and service were incredible. I had the Pad Thai and my husband had the Drunkard Noodles. The medium spice was spicy so beware if you don’t have a high spice tolerance! The Spring rolls were so good too! No free soda refills unfortunately. Good size portions. Overall 9/10.
Good service and nice atmosphere. The air conditioning was too cold and we were wearing sweatshirts. The food tasted good, but was too salty.
This Thai food place offers excellent cuisine and outstanding service. I highly recommend it! I believe they have multiple locations.
After multiple visits over a decade, the experience is just not the same. Menu is no longer fully marked. When the business messes up the order, they do not take it off the bill. The actual food is terrible now as well, unless you like straight greese. There are too many other Thai places to check out around the island.
Absolute worst Thai food I have ever had.
Great place!!!
Good food on and off but filthy especially bathroom. It's gotten more expensive so we don't go as often.
We got takeout from here and the food was so good. The pad thai was slightly burned on the bottom and had no tofu in it even though thats what we ordered, but still very good. When I first picked up my food they forgot to include my second rice, and then when i went back to get it they gave me the wrong rice but the food was so good I would definitely go back again. We got vegetable and tofu pad Thai, cashew nut stir fry and panang curry. Everything was very delicious! The price was also good for the amount of food you get.
Great meal and service.
Nice and cost effective Thai restaurant.
5 stars... for sure. This is our favorite Thai place on Oahu...
BRAAAAAHHHH THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF ONO! We got pork laab as an appetizer, I got the pad woon sen w/tofu, my husband got the basil stir fry w/chicken, and our kids split a fried rice, and ALL of it was absolutely amazing! Our waiter, Vince, was also very sweet and patient as we made our decisions (it's so hard to choose!), and the food was quick. I almost wish we didn't live in Kailua so I could come back every week! 10/10 recommend!
The service and food were very very good. The venue may be nothing special (it’s in a strip mall next to a gas station and busy bus stop), but the people and food more than make up for it.
Really enjoyed eating here and the food was amazing
Really incredible service. Our waiter went to great lengths to confirm our order and the cook prepared excellent vegan versions of several dishes for our family. The food at Thai Lao is top tier among all we’ve had- across the globe.
We went three times in our week vacation here because the food was so good, and also because our server treated us like welcome guests. Highly recommend!
Can make almost anything vegan, great waiter, and overall amazing experience for the price.
Good food, but a tad bit salty. Also, never had to pay for rice separately. If ordering with another person you may want to share the rice, 😜
I travel from Ewa Beach just to get an order of their pad thai. It's that good. Also if you want spicier than Thai hot, ask for Lao hot. 🥵
Great decor but very small inside. Food was amazing. Tai tea was very very sweet.
Terrible food !
We went in and used the restroom first. It was the worst I have ever seen in a restaurant. When I was walking towards our table, used plates were stacked with left over food in it (untidy). This made me and my husband suspicious. So we checked the Google rating and it was “highly rated”. So we thought, this could be because we were there at a odd time (between lunch and dinner), May be they hadn’t cleaned up the place yet.
We ordered noodles and yellow curry. The food was served in 5 mins.Yellow curry was not freshly cooked (not stale either). The noodles seemed like food resting in kitchen or fridge. Summer rolls was good and definitely fresh.
I would give 0 stars if I could !
Love their food!
Sep lai dur and Aroy mak mak !
A delicious Thai cuisine in Ko Olina with varieties of meals available.
Their fried rice tastes great, with different proteins to choose from, each changing its taste.
Slightly expensive compared to other Thai restaurants but it is worthwhile to dine in for their delicious and savoring Thai meals.
DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL SCAM YOU. we ordered based of their menu online. When we go there they charged us over double. They have no accurate menu or prices. Completely ruined our night and the food was awful. Go to any other place, but avoid this at all cost.
Just Not the Same Flavors!
I ordered take out last week and was disappointed with the food. I ordered Tum Yum Soup, Stuffed Chicken Wings with Peanut butter sauce, and Pork Pad Thai Noodles, Jasmine rice.
The flavors were off.
They must have changed cooks.
The Stuffed Chicken Wings were dry and Peanut butter sauce was not the same.
The Pork Pad Thai Noodles taste had also changed and was not appealing to taste.
I ordered Jasmine Rice and received Cal Rose Rice.
One thing for sure their price had increase and the flavor was lacking.
I don't think I will be ordering again and will not recommend Thai Lao Restaurant to friends either.
Great family meal, service was awesome and the food is great too.
Good food nice people.
We had a take out for our beach outing, and had the following:
-Calamari: was not that good - It tasted like it was from a frozen bag.
-Pad see ew: the taste was okay but the noodles are clumped together, making it hard to eat.
-Fried rice: was reasonable.
-Curry: I think this was the only dish that we enjoyed from here.
If we are in the area, might only just order their curry .
I give them 4.5 stars. Flavors were good and authentic. Decent portions and price but i do have complaints. I was never asked how spicy i wanted the dishes and they came out with no spice but thats not a problem i just requested some chili flakes. Saw good reviews and decided to try this place 4 the first time -- as I like to try different Thai restaurants in different states, and I wanted 2 treat myself 4 my Birthday.
First of all, I phoned in my order & Richie was super courteous and has excellent phone ettiquete.
However, when I went to pick up my order, there was ZERO customer service at the counter from the female working Friday, July 1 late afternoon, with very long hair & heavy eye make up.
Then I get home and was disappointed in standard Thai dish Papaya salad -- tasted sour and bland -- definitely NOT freshly made -- with mostly papaya, barely any green beans or tomatoes -- which were both small & shriveled.
Threw out the whole container.
Also disapointed in Beef salad -- steak too well done, black grill marks & even burnt parts served.
Threw out the whole plate.
Didnt take pictures before throwing in dumpster.
On the other hand, the red curry & the mango sticky rice were really good.
Lastly, the menu is overpriced.
For authentic Thai cuisine, I always come here. The service is reliable overall. Will be back soon.
Excellent food and service.
Love their Tom Kha!!!! Also, eggplant stir fry dish, papaya salad dish, the cashew nut stir fry, and when they have, the majority sticky rice dessert !!!! It's byob here too! The gas station nearby sells $14 Kim Crawford Sauv. Blanc 🤗
IMO, best Thai food on island. I always get the Pho with seafood with the thai hot spices and my husband gets the Pad Tai medium spice. The owner is super sweet, she knows us and gives great service. We moved from Kapolei to other side of island, so we always make sure to stop by here when in town. Keep up the great work!!
Was hopeful about this place because of the 4+ star rating, but... the fried calamari had no flavor, other than the dipping sauce it came with. The green curry was 90% coconut milk and so viscous, we actually threw it away. The pad thai was unlike any other pad thai we've had, flavor-wise - just very oyster saucy. And we ordered pineapple fried rice, but there was no pineapple from what we could tell. Maybe their Lao dishes are better?
We had pad thai and lemongrass stir fry. The pad thai little tasteless and had some artificial essence that was off putting. The lemongrass stir fry had a watery sauce and almost tasted like a curry instead of stir fry. I would not eat here again.
Good, clean place. We got the pad thai, Americanized- good for kids. The tamarind soup was interesting w raised for mussels and shrimp but got calamari and 2 shrimp, it was fine, we left it out. Papaya salad was awesome, we got medium and it was quite spicy. Larb gai was my fave, they made it mild, smaller portion. Tip was included, which is fine and makes senses as no one checked on us:) maybe I should have. Tried my usual red curry!
Terrible. Our pad ke mao was sitting on the counter for 20 minutes getting cold while they got the mango sticky rice figured out. Got home with food and the dish was either wrong or not any kind of pad ke mao I have ever seen. We asked for no egg. Got egg. Honestly - mostly inedible. People at counter were rude about the waiting. Place is covered in angry signs specifying how to exist in their restaurant. Oh, and super expensive for what it is.
Quick service. Tasty food.
Fast service, fantastic food. Highly recommend.
The curry was alright. Filled with gross fat dark meat though. The Thai stuffed chicken wings still had hair on it 🤮 and was basically just skin & fat most of the meat was removed. Lost my appetite. Waste of money.
Our best dinner in Kapolei area. Superb.
I seen the four 1/2 stars and thought this must be a good Thai restaurant. I had not eaten all day and was pretty hungry. I ordered the Evil Jungle Chicken Curry. Which was basically chicken and coleslaw mix like the one you get from Costco with the curry. The chicken didn’t taste very fresh. So I was kinda scared to eat it. I hope I don’t get sick. My daughter ordered the Tofu soup. The Tofu tasted rotten. We both spit it out immediately. I just hope they are using fresh protein in there meals.
Thai Lao is the best Thai food on island hands down. The Kapolei branch is the best Thai Lao restaurant out of the three and has the best service!
First time at this location and I must say, it definitely met all our expectations! We got the pad Thai, pad see ew, and Thai basil fried rice and I can honestly say that the food at this location tastes better than back home (California).
Great portions, perfect seasoning, and tastes authentic! 5/5! Will definitely be returning!
Went with a group of 6. Everyone ordered something different and we were all extremely pleased with our food. Excellent service as well.
Great food
Fantastic food as always
Taking out? Call ahead or use an app (DoorDash). Dining in? You'll need proof of vaccination or negative Covid test (within 48 hrs). Everything is tasty, so just order it all. Hope you're hungry! 😋
I’ve been here a few times and the foods always been really good especially for the price however today’s experience with the customer service I was disappointed I called and placed an order for pick up and when I arrived I paid and was told that they would bring out my food so I waited in my car for 15 minutes and no one ever came out when I went in the girls saw me and handed me my food and just looked away after it was very rude
The drunken noodles were delicious! And thank you for being so polite and understanding when I mistakenly placed my order at the wrong location. You guys made my frustrating situation a little bit better.
Will be back for more!
The best Thai Restaurant on West Side! Prompt service, meals are always fresh, staff are pleasant and courteous. You won’t go wrong dining here!
I was quite disappointed in the three dishes I tried. The flavor was good in the food but quality of the beef and chicken was disappointing and the ratio of other ingredients seemed off. My wife liked her tom kha other than the lemon grass pieces.
Sa-tay chicken is bussin’
The food here was amazing. The service was good and did not have a long wait. Amazing place to go eat after our day at the coral adventure park.
Good service and even better food quality. Well worth the price.
👍🏽
I got takeout. Taste was above average.
Dish 1: Pineapple Fried Rice w/ chicken. It had about 6 chunks of pineapple.
Dish 2: Phad Thai w/ tofu & vegetables. It had one stem of broccoli and tiny carrot strips and a little cabbage.
Food was so delicious 😋. Great service with a smile. Definitely coming back. Oh, the whole snapper is the bomb!
Great Service!! Good Food!!
Super good! Honestly I was a little surprised how good it was, I had never heard of it. It was a cold rainy day so had the noodle soup with beef, my gf had the fish. Both very fragrant and tasty. Highly recommend!
Food is very tasty
Best Thai food on the island 🤙
Amazing little restaurant. Try the stuffed chicken wings. It's BYOB so you can grab a drink before you come in. Food was really good. We got the pad Thai and green curry fried rice. Yumm
Go to Thai Village or Pandas Thai and learn what a great spicy shrimp pad thai taste like
This is my favorite place on the island. You can sit inside too.
We are on vacation staying at a resort in Ko Olina. We wanted Thai food and decided to look around the resort for some. This placed popped up and we ended up getting take out. It was amazing. The food is flavourful. Highly recommend.
Quite possibly the best Thai food I have ever eaten. Sorry no photos, I literally annihilated our garlic chicken and basil fried rice. Takeout was fast and accurate!
Love the place great people
My best Thai restaurant 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Drunkn noodle is LIIIIFE!!!
Great food. Eaten here many times and never been disappointed.
Food is great
Curry is amazing, specially yellow curry, green curry not so much
Sticky rice is to die for!
Service could be hit or miss... a few employees are super attentive, some are not friendly and seemed to be unhappy during their shifts
Delicious food and very friendly service, get here early or prepare to wait...but the wait is worth it
So far I have gone here a couple times and even though I order the same dish, taste and quality have been the same each time.
Everything is great, worth the wait. Lots of vegetarian and some vegan options.
If al fresco dining in Greenland is your “thing,” by all means stay in and enjoy the winter conditions. Otherwise, get your food to go. Nice food (albeit a bit oily) and good customer service. One piece of advice is that when literally every customer in the place runs to their car to get a sweater, lower the air con fcs.
Ordered take out from here on a Saturday night and even though they were busy service was very friendly our order didn’t take too long we got the evil jungle curry and spring rolls and some other stuff everything we got was fantastic!! Hot fresh and yummy 😋
This place is great. Stopped here fresh off of a plane. Food was awesome.
Not answering phone, trying to call to make a take out order
Good place to get some Thai Food in Kapolei.
Fantastic food and easy to order over the phone. Best thai on island so far!!!
Clean, friendly staff, delicious food, and reasonable prices. Panang Curry with shrimp, Pad Thai-the best.
Great food and wonderful service.
Best Thai on island
The food was okay. Not a fan of the chicken in the dishes but the yellow curry was great!
Wasn't sure what to order. The staff was very friendly and helped answer questions I had
They helped me pick out the perfect meal!
Food taste good but too oily
I love the food its great
Food and thai iced tea is delish
Was next door at the time. Opps
Still my favorite Thai place. I've even been to Thailand. Evil jungle curry is bomb!! Their spicy is suuuuper spicy, so I order mild. Their fried chicken, spring rolls and papaya salad are wonderful too...well I haven't actually tried anything I didn't like. I've been coming since they first opened and I still haven't been disappointed.
Awesome delicious food. I love the spring rolls with lettuce and sauce. Good service.
excellent thai food and generous portions
Very delicious it was a treat
Best jungle curry of my life J.S.
