The food is very good! We enjoyed having dinner here, everything we ordered tasted good and fresh. The food portion is big, the price is reasonable for the amount of food you get, delicious flavor. Would like to come back and try new things. Good service, relaxing environment.
I’ve eaten here more than a few times, it’s my one of my favorite restaurants. Favorites are the summer rolls and the Thai beef salad. Their curries are also excellent. Really cool and relaxed atmosphere, just a beautiful dining experience.
Love it 😍 Food and Singha beers are fabulous! We were blown away from this sensational Thai cuisine! Yes, we celebrated my birthday surprise! We're definitely going back for more!!! Our favorite appetizer are Summer Rolls and Fried Calamari while sipping Singha beers till the rest of our orders arrive! We actually almost eaten them all! 😂
The Thai food here is great! The satay chicken was tender and perfectly cooked; even though it’s an appetizer, I made it a meal by adding jasmine rice and extra peanut sauce. The Dirty Thai Tea was also worth trying. My husband ordered the yellow curry, which came with rice, and the flavorful, spicy kick was just right.
We’ve been coming here for years and it was always top notch. Tonight it was a completely different story. This was the absolute worst service I’ve ever had anywhere in Hilo. Not only was the basic service bad as in long waits and bringing out the dishes incomplete disorder, as in bringing out the main dishes before the appetizers or the soup. But also, I had the unpleasant experience of pulling a long hair out of my mouth while eating a salad. I did bring it up to the waitress politely, she just walked away and ignored it. We also wanted a dessert that was never offered to us so we figured we would just leave. Being ignored over the HAIR in the food incident is absolutely unacceptable. I hope this place finds a good restaurant manager that can take care of the place and maybe we’ll come back before the time being. I’ll be avoiding this restaurant and I would recommend others to do the same. Finding hair and food is just not cool.
Brightly lit Thai restaurant in Hilo. Found through a simple google search. We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and seated rapidly. Reasonably priced drinks and meals. Generous portion size. The Budda Rama curry was fantastic. Deep, rich flavor with strong peanut butter tones. Ordered medium but was definitely more mild than expected. The beef salad was a big miss for me. Too thick and sinewy on be meat with harsh flavors. Would highly recommend the budda rama, another in the party enjoyed the bbq pork. Would return for sure.

Fabulous food! Flavors are bright & distinct. Portions are generous! Delish
Our #1 local restaurant. That's all you need to know
Well it’s not Thai food. My boyfriend’s food actually smelled like manure when it came out. After he visited the men’s bathroom we realized why…
This was the worst Thai food we have ever had. We got the green curry and the pineapple curry. They were both flavorless and seemed watered down. Maybe they just don’t do curry well here, but for $19 each it should be significantly better.
Been coming here a couple times a month for over a year. Called today and had to wait an hour for my order to be ready. Showed up and they they never even wrote my order down and I was told “all we can do is give you a discount next time but the wait will be an hour if you want to re-submit your order”. Really a shame to see the customer service take such a massive plummet here
Really amazing soups there
Great food and they had many options for alternate dietary choices. A
Excellent food.
Spring rolls were amazing
Alcoholic drinks not so much
I’ve eaten here more than a few times, it’s my one of my favorite restaurants. Favorites are the summer rolls and the Thai beef salad. Their curries are also excellent. Really cool and relaxed atmosphere, just a beautiful dining experience.
Best Tom Kha EVER. So fresh. Pad Kee Mao was middle of the road, we ended up putting it in our tom kha soup—which is a HUGE serving. Ordered it to take back to our hotel after a rainy day in Hilo. Very friendly staff, would grab found here again if ever in Hilo!
Yummy in the tummy! So good. Pineapple fried rice and pineapple curry are the best.

The Dirty Thai Tea was also worth trying. My husband ordered the yellow curry, which came with rice, and the flavorful, spicy kick was just right.
Order a dish with duck was mostly tat
Had a delicious meal here. Basil fried rice and mussuman curry were excellent. Medium spice was a little kick, great flavor balance. Hot would certainly be spicy. Great beer selection on draught too.
I loved this place. Best Thai food in Hilo! Fresh, masterful blend of herbs and amazing food! The Fried chicken, Spring roles, and Roasted Duck! Oh yes, the Basil rice is delicious! Yum! Excellent drinks, great service. Nice ambiance.
Some of the best Thai in town! Take out, dine-in, the ladies are always kind and fast. Get the Curry, any kine and you won't regret it! Also the mango sticky rice is a trap and you'll want to order more than one 😋
We ordered Tom Kha soup and Pad see uw both with beef. The food was the best we have found outside of Thailand! We're both very happy that we got to eat here while visiting and so very sad that it's so far away home!! We would definitely be regulars!
Very good. The y have a superior peanut sauce. Interesting drinks. If you like spicy but look like you don’t, be clear or they will lowball the heat. Very happy.
Absolutely loved the food and drinks here. Fantastic atmosphere. Dirty Thai drink was my favorite.
The food was mid in my opinion .
Took a chance on this place on my first night in Hilo and it paid off. Nice food, huge servings & good service from my waitress. Don't want to be insulting but the other staff could take a leaf out of her book and be a bit cheerier with customers.
Absolutely incredible the peanut sauce was amazing and the summer rolls were delicious it was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life! I extremely recommend this place if you are on vacation!
Got take out and it was delicious. Good vegetarian options. Recommend ordering early since we had to wait around 30-40 minutes. Very helpful and nice staff.
Came once in person, it took 28 minutes to get my appetizer, and then 15 seconds later I got my food. Ordered once online for takeout. After completing it, it said it would take 40 minutes to be ready. When I showed up 41 minutes later, the place was empty and they didn't even start my food yet even though my card was charged 40 minutes earlier. In total, it took 52 minutes to get my food. I said I wanted it spicy hot but is was plain to mid at best.
Ordered the pad Thai and pad kee mao "thai spicy" and it did not disappoint. Good portion size and very spicy. Will be back the next time we're on the island.
One of the top Thai restaurants on island! Their Buddha Rama curry is a family favorite! The dime in experience is enjoyable and the take-out is just as delicious... Suggest calling the order in instead of online.
We ordered 4 plates, a salad and appetizer and a pad Thai n curry dish. All were perfectly and quickly prepared and served with a beautiful smile!! You will love it!!
Amazing food and good spice... Pre-warning, I have a hot pallet, but this place can be inconsistent in heat, so I learned order mild and just ask for the heat on the side 🤙 seriously I've ordered spicy all the time, but one time they must have dropped the who bottle in by accident 🤣😂 ever since, spice on the side, LOL
Solid food and great service, would happily revisit in the future.
Best Thai food on island garanz
I hate leaving negative reviews but this place was super disappointing… I placed a simple order for to go and waited much longer than the time they gave me. The pad see ew was so dry and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The mango sticky rice’s portion was tiny, but luckily it was delicious. Overall, the food definitely was not authentic. For the service and long wait, the price was absurd. The staff also did not seem apologetic for the long wait which was pretty upsetting, nor did they acknowledge me.
Also, there was something crunchy with several bites of my pad see ew (probably egg shells.) Please be careful when mixing the eggs with the noodles and ensuring that the food is free of such physical contaminants.
Best Thai place in Hilo in my opinion. The food is absolutely amazing. Service could be better, they’re just not friendly. Yes on top of it; so don’t go in expecting for good service. But they have spectacular food. I love all of their curries, Bangkok noodle, Pad thai, thai tea. Any appetizer I’ve tried was also great. Highly recommend.
Aside from having great food, the stove we received was excellent even though we arrived 30 minutes before closing. Kudos to this place for having such amazing staff.
Good food. Nice portions. Good service.
Thier Tom Yam is very good!
I would avoid this place. Check out all the negative reviews for this place on Trip Advisor, including the one about dirty silverware. Ugh!
Also, the woman who works there threatens the neighborhood community cats, who live down the street and do no harm.
I like to give my business to people who are kind to animals, and I like my food made with clean hands.
Food should have a good vibe, or I’d just rather not eat. Especially, if you are vegan or vegetarian, go somewhere else!
Hope this helps!
Some of the food is westernized a bit, but generally great northern flavors, and friendly staff.
Food and atmosphere are good. Server Ell was such a pleasure. She took great care of us, helping us make excellent choices. She is an experienced asset.
"I loved the music and how many big fans there were!"
-Milo (18 months old)
We ate here a few months ago. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. If we were locals, we would go there often. 100% recommend.
Massive portions and the Thai spice is HOT! I could eat here every day.
Great food qnd huge portions! The wait staff seemed really really busy, which made the service a bit delayed. I think they just need more staff though, everyone was nice and working hard.
Best Thai Food on the big island
This is my favourite place - initially my wife had discovered this gem and I went there an year ago - had a bad experience (see below) - but have been back 3 times now and have to say - food was excellent, staff was awesome and the food was excellent !!!!
The daughter opened a new restaurant by banyan drive will be checking it out.
Thank you guys - i think below was an off ight for the person taking our order. I did not see her the last few times so I guess good riddance ?
Anyways - thank you.
---------- Below was my review from a year ago ------------------
Excellent food but one of the waitress has a bad attitude. We came here yesterday and I came back bc of the food but she is a crotchety piece of **** I left going somewhere else
Not especially quality Thai food. Big portions, but lacking in a true Thai flavor. Three shrimp in the big bowl of Penang curry. Small portion of brown rice. Simply ok.
Pad Thai is always top. Curries are pretty good. Try the fried sweet potatoes. Cocktails are great. Service is always friendly.
I've had better Thai food in a mall food court. Anyone who says this place is good has clearly never had authentic Thai food or been to Thailand. We specifically asked for no spice as my mother cannot have any and confirmed 3x that each dish was spice free. We waited a VERY long time for our food and each dish arrived with chilis in it, despite clearly asking for none.
I ordered the chuchee tuna and the fish came WAY overcooked - my dad thought it was pork and the veggies were completely raw like a salad (when advertised as steamed). On top of that the sauce on the tuna had a thick phlegm like texture. The dish tasted disgusting, we couldn't eat it. The "tom yum" soup (if you can call it that) was overly sweet and had the same veggies they put in every stir fry/noodle/rice dish that does not belong in tom yum soup. Our server, who seemed to be the manager/owner didn't know how to use the iPad to take our order and didn't communicate clearly, simply laughing at everything we said. I raised these concerns to her when she asked how our meal was and she didn't offer any solutions to make it right (ie. re-cook the raw veggies or take it off our bill) but just apologized emphasizing how long it took for us to get our food yet every dish was done incorrectly and just walked away, acknowledging it was all their fault but did nothing to rectify it.
Most disappointing meal & experience we had on Big Island. Truly awful service. If you value professional ethical service and real Thai food, avoid this place.
Delicious take out dinner! Pineapple, seafood, fried rice was amazing! My family lives in Hilo & we ordered from here when we visited! They love this place!!!
Lovely lunch place! Food and service were really good!
I love this place. Best green papaya salad in Hilo. Fast and friendly!
We ordered basil fried rice (veg n tofu) and yellow curry (veg n tofu) with brown rice because yellow is the only curry that has no shrimp paste.
The food was good and portions were generous.
3 stars for service is because I feel the staff was not very enthusiastic, did not gave me a welcoming feeling.
Si vous avez envie de manger thaï, foncez-y, c'était excellent ! Et plus que bien servi, nous avons dû emporter un doggy-bag car nous n'avons pas réussi à tout terminer ...
Le service était simplement très long !
Best Thai spot in Hilo. Great service and atmosphere and delicious cocktails too. Love everything on their menu.
Probably the best Thai food I have had the pleasure to enjoy. An amazing sopsour martini, an excellent selection of curries, and the green papaya salad should not be missed (ask for less spice on this to really enjoy the flavors).
Amazing food, clean restaurant and a friendly staff!
Amazing Pad Thai tofu, Green curry tofu and wonton soup!
One of my personal thai favorites in Hilo.
The food is very good! We enjoyed having dinner here, everything we ordered tasted good and fresh. The food portion is big, the price is reasonable for the amount of food you get, delicious flavor. Would like to come back and try new things. Good service, relaxing environment.
Dude. This place has the best Thai from downtown to Puna! Cute little atmosphere as the place seems to be two previously separate store fronts combined to make one restaurant. They have a good sized full bar for those who desire it, with a few different beers on tap on one "side" of the place, and a few tables without "TV access" on the other side. It really is a nice place, affordable, and oh so gosh darn delicious! And the food tastes fresh! Like they didn't make large batches of stuff early on and are just dishing it out now (pun intended).
Careful though, "Thai Hot" means what it says...and loooove spicy! Maybe try regular hot before committing to the top tier lol
Favorite restaurant on the big island
Food is always good. 👌 nice portions. Favorite Thai place on the big island

Too thick and sinewy on be meat with harsh flavors. Would highly recommend the budda rama, another in the party enjoyed the bbq pork. Would return for sure.
Food was amazing...Service was great and a nice n clean atmosphere....
Pineapple fried rice is so good.
Enjoyed dinner with a large party..
This great little thai restaurant is tucked away near the post office in downtown Hilo, next to the park. They have a nice variety on the menu. We tried the massaman curry and the chicken satay and both were very good. There is a good tap menu along with some cocktails. Friendly and efficient service. We would definitely eat here again
All of the staff look extremely unhappy and overtired. The owners were audibly yelling at them with a packed house rather than letting them do their jobs or at least helping out. I've been in the restaurant industry for many years and that kind of behavior looks and sounds so unprofessional, I feel bad for the underpaid staff.
Tom Kha was really good. Best part of the whole meal. Sticky rice and peanut sauce was just ok. Pineapple fried rice was pretty good too.
Love their Thai food. I try to go at least once a month. The food is always fresh. The coconut soup is to die for. They have lillikoi margaritas with fresh lillikoi (seasonal I would think). Will continue to go back it’s a must.
Restaurant will be closed for late summer holiday: Aug 27 to Sept 20, 2023.
We ordered tofu Pad Thai, tofu with green beans + mixed veggies, and a bowl of rice. Tofu included in both dishes is soft tofu and not deep fried.
Prices are quite reasonable for a good amount of food for 2 hungry adults.
Food arrived very quickly and ice water refills were greatly appreciated.
Plenty of other customers having a late lunch / early dinner at 3pm.
Free street parking available in front and nearby.
Sehr empfehlenswert!
Amazing Thai food. And reasonable prices for Hawaii.
Very very good. We will be back
Our go to for thai food in Hilo. Love the amount of veggies in the curries as well.
zomg! so good.
Food was great! I tried the Buddha curry with shrimp and jasmine rise and it was delicious! Definitely recommend, portions are big enough to share or save leftovers for dinner. Place looks a little outdated and you have to cross through the kitchen in order to get to the bathroom, but the atmosphere is nice and staff is friendly. Would return again. Mahalo for the good service! 🌺
This is the 2nd time we have eaten here and both times they have messed up our order and made us wait, that didn't offer anything. They are super slow and inefficient and bad service. Don't go if you want your food soon.
Found this wonderful Thai restaurant accidentally on a trip to the Big Island. Now every time I return I make it a point to stop in at least once. Great food and the entire staff has always been amazing.
Great food, good portions, the staff and owner are very friendly. My go to thai food when I'm in Hilo. Wish they had a location in Kona.
Fantastic curry!!!
Amazing service
AMAZING portions, great flavors, quick and kind service, what else could you want?! I so rarely go out to eat and am actually full after a main dish, but they didn’t hold back here! I’ve had Pad Thai all around the world and this was up there in the rankings for sure🤙🏼
Even the water (added lime) and rice (slightly coconut tasting) were great!
Definitely going back again!!
I have eaten a lot of Thai food in my life, in various cities. This was maybe the best I've ever had, anywhere. I could inject their duck curry into veins it is so good. Prices are reasonable for Hawaii and the service is wonderful and friendly. Do yourself a favor and try this place.
Get the fried sweet potatoes and steamed dumplings. Delicious!
Would not wait on me arrived first ignore afro american couple.
On vacation and this is how I should be treated.
Poor completely ignored by waitress.
大変美味しかった。店員さんもとっても感じが良いです。カレーの種類が豊富。店内が清潔。トイレも清潔で気持ちいいです。スパイスの入った辛い料理は辛さの調整をしてくれます。
Good food overall. Some is great. The drinks are great and beer selection good and reasonably priced. BBQ pork plate is a must if you're a carnivore.
Best food in Hilo!
Super delicious food and really great service! This place is highly recommended if you're in Hilo! I LOVE this place!
The fried sweet potato appetizer is great.
Good thai food. Large portions.
The food was excellent and the service was superb
Amazing service and food! The Buddha Rama curry and Pad Thai were great!
Wow! That's definitely the best food on the island we've had. Rumored to be best Thai food in the world, could definitely be. Get the Evil Dish. Seriously. Excellent!
Best yellow chicken curry I ever had and large portions. Loved the atmosphere great place to relax and enjoy some great food
Mango sticky rice is not great. Their house curry is ok. Masaman is not great. Yellow pumpkin is good.
Great Thai joint with a huge menu and large portions at a good price point. The food was absolutely delicious, and you choose how spicy it's made. Rice is not served with the dishes, ordered a la cart, so be sure to add rice if you are wanting it with your side. My only complaint is they would not split our bill, however they did accommodate our large group. Will definitely return!
We ordered veggie spring rolls and spicy basil chicken hot. Oh man it was hot. Food was so good. The portions are big so it’s sharable.
We found this place by chance and the food was excellent. Because we were there for lunch and had to get to the airport we only got to sample a very small part of the menu. Next time in Hilo we'll go for dinner.
If you like mushy wet frired rice this is the place for you! They are terrible cooks, fried rice is EASY af.. just dont use wet rice🤦♀️ it needs to be dry side (day old) so it doesnt form lumpy piles of mush.. look up a yt vid on how too cook please.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Best Thai food on the island! Almost every time we go to Hilo we end up there.
A quirky gem of a Thai restaurant! Great cocktails, great food, great service!
Luckily the food was good the first time, but closing your dining room an hour before you close the kitchen should be reflected in the operating hours.
Best Panang Ever! The thai hot is HOT. Sooooo gooood.
I normally don’t give review. But I just feel I have to write something this time. We looked up this place in google because it has good reviews. However, we waited long time the food still now arrive yet. After one full day activities and being hungry, the wait is not fun. The funny thing is we ordered a beer and after 30 minutes it still didn’t arrive. After we checked with a passing waitress, we were told the beer we ordered is out of stock. 😓. And the waitress told us the delay is because they only have one cook and they have big parties to serve. I can understand the situation. I do think they should notify us the long wait before seating us. It passes 50 minutes, the food still didn’t arrive as I’m writing the review. So, I hope whoever is considering this place, do remember to ask about how long is the delay and double verify your order. The food finally arrived when I’m about to wrap up the review. The taste is quite good though. After finish our main courses, our mango sticky rice arrived in a take out box. Maybe, I should order take out instead.
Big portions of very tasty food. It is such as shame that the toilet facilities were disgusting, which made us question the hygiene standards in general.
Delicious meal, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere; quick enough, yet relaxed pace.
Its hard to get a good vegetarian food in Hawaii. Im glad that we found one! We were super tired roaming around the island! And we wanted to have a solid food. We came across this restaurant and we just ordered some fried rice! It tasted so great! I would definitely recommend pineapple fried rice! It was filled with cashews, pineapple🍍 and vegetables!
I did request no meat/egg on my meal and they responded well for that! If i ever get a chance to revisit this restaurant i would do that for sure!❤️
If you are looking for vegetarian food, this place is a must try!
Fun atmosphere, mediocre service, and food was a mixed bag.
Parties next to us were served quickly, but our orders took quite a while. One group arrived after but was served before. Waitress made exactly two contacts - to take our order and drop our food. Meanwhile, everyone else was treated quite attentively.
Our order was straightforward and the place was only about half full, but it felt like the staff was either overwhelmed or couldn't be bothered, or maybe wasn't thrilled about a table with a couple of kids.
The food was a mixed bag. The egg rolls and spring rolls were both really really good, but three entrees all missed the mark.
We might have just gotten an off night. If they could bring all their dishes up to the level of their best ones this place could be a real gem.
Entrees and appetizers are both really filling! Loved the spring rolls, pad thai, and pad see ewe. Would recommend this place.
Absolutely amazing food, large portions for a very reasonable price, friendly staff. Gluten free items very clearly marked, just indicate upon ordering and they'll take care of it. Highly recommend!
Delicious and fresh flavors. One of our favorite, if not our favorite meal on the Big Island! Highly recommended.
Absolutely nothing we had was disappointing. 4 of us shared the pad Thai, pad see ew, veggie fried rice, spring rolls, summer rolls and mango sticky rice. I’ve never seen so many plates completely cleared! Yum yum yum!
Great prices, huge portions.. the summer rolls are amazing. I ordered mine thai spicy and they did not hold back!
Excellent Thai Food!!
One of the best Thai restaurants in town. Portions are very generous and the staff friendly. Their' Green Curry is outstanding as is there pad Thai chicken and every meal I've ordered. Prices are reasonable.
We were hungry after a long day at Volcanoes NP and this place hit the spot!! We are all huge Thai food fans and people in the group were raving about how it was some of the best Thai food they've ever had, anywhere.
As a note of warning/advice, the Thai hot and Extra Thai hot spice levels are quite serious!
Fantastic service, and everything was delicious....portions are BIG, great value!
Good food. Good portion size.
Loved it thank you for the good service and food!
Amazing! Best meal I have had in over 100 days of trips to Hawaiian islands.
My wife and I also have spent months in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, eating at the best places, and many meals at the famous Pok-Pok in Portland, and this place was equal to or better than most of them.
The green curry (with pork) was tremendous and the Summer rolls were excellent. But the real surprise was the mango sticky rice -- it was fantastic, as good as the best I've had in Chiang Mai, and the mango as perfectly ripe and succulent. Shockingly good. Every dish was as good as any I have ever had in any Thai restaurant in NYC, Portland, or other foodie havens in the US.
I have had hundreds of meals on the Islands, and this was by far the best, hands down. The staff was super nice, our food was brought to us relatively quickly...and all the veg, etc, was fresh and delicious.
This place totally should have across the board 5 star reviews, based on our experience there. My wife is a great cook (I'm the sous chef, stirring and chopping, LoL, and the seasoning and spice guy) and we both were in foodie heaven at this place. Obviously, highly recommended.
$8 for the mango and sticky rice, such a rip off for the portion sizes. And ugly presentation compared to other Thai restaurants I’ve been too, it’s not even HALF of the mango.
Also got the mixed vegetables with fried tofu, barely any tofu or any of the veggies mentioned in the description. The fried tofu pieces were a the size of a nickel. And majority of the veggies were the cheapest veggies (carrots, onions, and celery)
The flavor of the mixed veggies was good but just overall disappointed because there were only 2 pieces of zucchini and barely any tofu.
Disappointed and I do not recommend on top of the long wait time for takeout
It's our favorite place to dine. Try the Papaya Salad, it's awesome and enough to share. Budda Bowl with brown rice is my go-to comfort food.
Although the prices have gone up like everywhere - very quaint downtown Hilo Thai restaurant, expansive menu, service/serving quite quick, no regular but Light Budweiser & have Michelob UltraLight; we ordered battered Calamari which was surely breaded but but unappreciably chewy (ask on order to not cook so hard, so if it is chewy or old '- you should/can return for better) & Pad Thai...both servings were ample for 2 and we wound up taking some Home. Heads up - they are now no more styrofoam take out containers, charging an add'l/automatic cost of ₵45 per container - insult; recommend you minus take out container costs from tip and write comment why on receipt so Servers can fight that fight on their own with Ownership/Mgt.
They make the best Roast Duck Curry & Mango Sticky Rice like no other!
Best Thai Food and place to eat here n town!
