Comfortable eatery with a bright, industrial feel serves creative takes on Thai dishes.
The food was so good! I would definitely return and try something else on the menu. If something you want isn't on the menu, ask your server for suggestions because they may be able to create it. I'm not a beef person but the beef was good. The drinks were okay but the food very much made up for it. And the staff is super friendly and helpful.
The atmosphere is beautiful! They had real flowers on the table and beautiful eccentric art on the walls with well lighted low lights that makes everything about eating at this restaurant very classy. The customer service was amazing. My friend had an order that was messed up, and our waiter fixed it immediately. Plus, the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the pineapple rice and spring roles. Yummy 😋
I was not going to leave feedback but after calling to give feedback here we are! Ordered $95 of food to go - pad see ew was super dry and the shrimp in a blanket tasted burnt. Ordered a side of broccoli and they literally gave 5 small spears. Called to leave feedback and was just told “sorry”. So disappointed because this was a referral. Needless to say we won’t be back. It’s unfortunate that the guy who answered was not empowered to make things right. He said he would let the owners know.
The venue's location is truly exceptional. As I entered, I appreciated the interior's loft-inspired design. The fried chicken wings were outstanding, and the seasoning added a pleasing dimension. Regrettably, the Pad Thai noodles with beef did not meet expectations, owing to the noodles' excessive gumminess and the beef pieces' small size. Happily, the service was of the highest caliber.
I love this place! My usual takeout order is a cheese roll and massamun curry with medium heat. It's a warm, inviting spiced heat and not a punch in the throat.
My very first visit to spoon years ago was absolutely outstanding! Unfortunately, my last few visits, I noticed something has truly changed for the worse. I figured the staff shortages were the reason so when my God son asked to try it for the first time as a reward we gave it another try.
I was very optimistic upon entering because I noticed we were the only family in the dining room. My best friend, God son and niece had already been seated.
We were quickly waited up on with drink, appetizer and even main course orders taken.
Drinks and food were delivered shortly thereafter.
Unfortunately everything tasted "rushed". The rice had a heavy, unfresh, oil taste. The chicken wings lacked seasoning. The different stir frys were over brothed, heavy vegetated, and more like soups with a small amount of protein.
My usual favorite, the Thai basil stir fry was more like a raw string bean soup. Photo taken after pouring more than half of the broth out of the bowl.
I truly wanted to love Spoon again but it's just not there. 😔
Factor in the 20% up charge still being added to dine-in bills, even for a table of five, and sadly our 7th visit shall be our final to this establishment.
I love this place! My usual takeout order is a cheese roll and massamun curry with medium heat. It's a warm, inviting spiced heat and not a punch in the throat.
Very very good.
This was my first time at Spoon and the food and service was phenomenal! I ordered the Penang chicken, medium spice. It was so flavorful!
Mussaman curry was watery with what tasted like canned green beans, paper thin carrots, and even the potatoes-natures most basic and bland tuber tasted like it had been roasted and tossed into the mixture as afterthought with the skin still on it- even when it’s a staple part of the dish. The Uber Eats driver sat there for 25 minutes waiting for the food. I called and talked to Robin (believe that was their name) to inquire why it was taking so long for the food, and he could not have been anymore indifferent. I don’t normally write reviews but between the food and interaction on the phone, it was bad enough to call it out… especially at the price.
I love this place! Nice dining area, great service and wonderful food.
The Golden Fish is Delish!
Ordered on door dash and portions were very small for 25 a pop. Sauce was oily and not flavorful. Felt ripped off.
The food was so good! I would definitely return and try something else on the menu. If something you want isn't on the menu, ask your server for suggestions because they may be able to create it. We’ve tried so many entrees here and it never disappoints!
Great!!! Will return. Taste was authentic and perfect spice level. The shrimp were fresh and chicken was moist.
Very chill eatery in the community. Nice outdoor and indoor seating.
Very good full bar . But it's the food that keeps me coming back
Love the prompt! Services from staff when entering the store i give a thumbs up and Michelle go dirty birdys..will be back to deliver for these awesome staff and food is outstanding!!!
Best basil fried rice I have ever tasted. Excellent customer service also.
Spoon definitely has my favorite Panang curry. Love that you can choose whatever protein. I had it with their fish most recently and it was *divine*. Usually I do chicken. They have really good coconut soup. They use good chunks of tofu if you choose that protein. Also lots of gluten free choices here. I need to branch out and try more of their dishes, but I just love the panang so much 😫
It's always good vibes and good food here Bar needs a better selection other than that No complaints
Omg the Massaman curry is the best! Perfect balance of spice and flavor! Must order!
Ordered takeout and had friendly phone service, however the Thai basil fried rice with chicken was so dry and not spicy. The roti massaman had decent flavor but was simply just watery curry sauce. The coconut soup was quite pleasant though overall. Just couldn’t justify that price point for that fried rice!
I stumbled across this pleasant gem a while ago and now I’m hooked. The ambience and cuisine are excellent in my humble opinion. As a member of the picky eater community, I feel they cook and prepare their food with love.
I am extremely disappointed with the service at Spoon. I placed an order and I sat in the restaurant for an hour. No one acknowledged that my order was ready after asking two times and going back to my car and sitting. After a few weeks, I called in another order, and they refused to fill my order.
Went back for a second time and food was delicious as the first time. This time I dined in and the waiter was very pleasant. I ordered the basil fried rice the first time, but this time around I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp with med heat for spice and it was so good. I will definitely be back especially for lunch.
Really great Thai food! I got PadZU with tofu and my friend got Pad Thai. We both order a Thai tea which was so yummy and refreshing considering it was so hot outside! I was able to get a tables right away and our server was so nice and prompt.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spoon Eastside, a Thai restaurant that came highly recommended by my colleagues. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a fantastic dining experience.
Our server, Robin, was exceptional. He took excellent care of us throughout our meal and made fantastic recommendations, especially for those of us trying Thai food for the first time. His attentiveness and knowledge of the menu truly enhanced our dining experience.
We started with the Fried Spring Rolls, a delicious vegan option that was perfectly crispy and flavorful. For drinks, I opted for the Thai Iced Tea, which quickly became my favourite with its perfect balance of sweetness and rich tea flavour.
For the main course, I chose the Red Curry (Kang Dang) with chicken. This dish was a delightful mix of fresh vegetables, including eggplant, bamboo shoots, and zucchini, all harmonized with a hint of Thai basil. The complexity and spice of the curry were just right, making each bite a flavorful adventure. We also ordered an extra bowl of rice, which complemented the curry perfectly.
Overall, Spoon Eastside provided an outstanding dining experience. The ambiance was pleasant, the food was delicious, and Robin's excellent service made the evening memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine.
Khao soi was fantastic, tasted like I was back in Chiang Mai
Pros: Our server was very nice and attentive. She was great.
Cons: Bland, underwhelming food. Is this place under new management? It used to be good, have been visiting since 2018, but the last two visits have been very disappointing. Totally empty dining room this evening, which is telling.
Chicken larb was lacking flavor, and arrived on a bed of shredded cabbage. Every other larb I’ve had elsewhere has been served with lettuce wraps. Manager wouldn’t comp, which came across as rude.
Unfortunate, as I used to really love this place, but won’t be returning.
Cool spot, great beer selection, excellent food!
My first visit to Spoon was a couple months ago and the food was superb and seasoned. I opted for the Thai Basil Rice and the Thai Basil Stir Fry with chicken with Spring Rolls.
My next visit was yesterday and I ordered the same thing. The rice was tasty but the stir fry was more like a raw string bean soup. The chicken lacked flavor and tasted like boiled chicken. No basil flavor at all. The broth had no flavor at all. The entire dish was unsatisfying. I asked for the meal to be picked up between 5:40 and 5:50 but it seemed like it had been sitting for a while as it was not hot when I arrived and the spring rolls were no longer crispy. I ordered online at about 3 pm for later prep. I arrived early before my pick up time. I really wanted to enjoy this place but I will only order the rice next time. I’ve been to many decent Thai restaurants in other cities and this compares to none of them.
I've visited spoon and it's Sister restaurant Paper Plane multiple times, and it's always a top notch visit. Incredible food, great atmosphere, quality drinks, friendly staff, and fast service. You can't go wrong here.
I went for the first time for lunch with my co-workers and I loved the food so much I came back with my husband.
Customer service was above par. The food was so delicious. Had crab fried rice and it was refreshing.
I definitely recommend and will be going back.
This place is so gentrified, the colonizers came and eradicated the flavor
Great food and service. I had the fried Speing rolls and the Chicken Pad Tai
Top tier Thai! I’m always full when I leave plus I have leftovers for lunch the next day!
hidden gem. was surprised how good the food here was. the menu is small and the service isn’t necessarily personable and the place doesn’t scream authentic but the food is consistently delicious.
we love eating here
Food is flavorless and expensive
Came for lunch on a week day a while ago and wasn’t terribly impressed. We got the Khao Soi and Roti massaman. The khao soi wasn’t really memorable or super good as far as noodle soups go and we LOVE noodle soups. It was a good portion size for the price (in this area anyway). The roti didn’t seem to be freshly made but admittedly I don’t know if I’ve ever had it fresh. One of our items came out confusingly late but otherwise service was fine.
I used to love Spoon and the Larb. I still like it but the quality has gone down. Still grateful it’s in the neighborhood!
We had a great experience here. The food is high-quality and doesn’t taste processed. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, and is quiet during the day, which can make all the difference. Robyn , our waiter, was also delightful! By far the best Thai food I’ve had in Atlanta.
When I think about getting delicious Thai food, I only have one thought. It's Spoon.
Food was decent but overpriced. Won’t come back unfortunately.
Pricier than some places but tasty food.
Very good food and great service I highly recommend
Awesome local Thai place with all the staples and great service!
The food was good but not enough staff. Only one server the night we went, so no refills. Also we were unable to make change to an order because hostess was in her cell phone. The phone in her back pocket kept ringing during dinner while she walked between tables & she would answer while customers were talking to her. Very rude.
Split a dish!

Lady at the to go computer was so rude to me last night. I wanted to use the restroom before grabbing a table & she refused me. lost my appetite & didn’t even grab food bc her service is unbelievably terrible.
Really good, fast Thai food. Pad Thai is really tasty.
They use to give more authentic… now the basil was a bit watered down unfortunately. I got with salmon & salmon was over cooked for medium. The watered down basil flavor was not able to save the bland overcooked salmon…
Our table ordered the potstickers which were vegetarian and absolutely delicious. I ordered massamun curry with tofu with mild spice , it was so delicious and warmed my soul. So many flavors and they give you plenty of rice. I loved this meal!
My husband and I are vegetarian and were very happy with Spoon. We got the Pad Thai and the coconut tofu soup. Both were extremely delicious.
This is my go to Thai restaurant, the food is delicious and the people that work here are truly amazing and kind
This place isn’t real Asian food!! In fact it’s a rip off!!!
Believe it or not, this soup for one, cost eight dollars!! I won’t even show you the rest. So sad that we pay for garbage like this!!!! Stay away from this joint!!! They get 1 star because there isn’t anything else to put in its place!!!
ZERO is the proper selection. On the survey it say(s) recommend, I don’t recommend anything from this joint!!
The truth!!!!!
Simple Thai restaurant. Nothing super amazing about this place, but also nothing really wrong with it. We went for lunch and had a couple of different curry dishes.
Spoon is our go-to Thai restaurant in Atlanta. They have great curries including their massaman curry and panang curry. If curries aren't your preference then at least try the roti massaman appetizer for some delicious warm roti with a delicious massaman to dip in. There is a good ice cream spot in the same parking lot if you have a sweet tooth after dinner, Morelli’s. Enjoy!
Food is always on point! Had a one off issue with my last order and customer service was 10/10! Shoutout to management and staff here. Will be a long time customer!
We had a great dinner at Spoon. I will go back if in the area.
Great service and good noodles
Two days in a row for me. Dined in and take out. The owner visited my table and made me feel like family. Great food, fresh authentic flavors, and healthy portions. Wonderful service and parking. It's a Win Win. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Highly Recommend
The best Thai food and absolutely the best bartender, Leon. I will keep coming back every time I can. This place a staple of East Atlanta.
Thai Basil fried rice is so good!! So is the coconut chicken soup and the cream cheese rolls!!
8/22/23 had the Radna Shrimp and Crab $28 and Oak Farm Cabernet $12. Both were good and will have again. Service around lunch was good not to long of wait to receive meal. Establishment was not busy at all. Seems like the majority of the people coming through was picking up orders. Sat at the bar and the clerk/Siriwan was somewhat attentive not much once they served my dish. Had to wave them down to get their attention. The atmosphere was cozy and laid back. Parking is questionable appeared it could get busy depending on when you go. They are located in a small business lounge area and share parking lot with the other business. If you miss the entrance way DON’T turn into the first house on the left if you have a low bumper, you will scratch up the lower portion of your bumper. Yep, I did! Overall, not a bad spot for Thai food if you are in the area. However, this was my first experience with this establishment.
Khao Sao is fantastic, great apps too
Simply put...my favorite Thai place in the Atlanta metro area. When I lived closer I ate here often, now that I'm further I have to make special trips... worth it.
RUSHED SERVICE. Only three tables in this fairly empty restaurant. I can tell the new owners are used to fast food takeout. Very attentive wait staff rushed us. I literally had my fork in hand and was eating when the waiter ask if we wanted the check. Another waiter put her hand on my guest plate THEN asked if he was finished. What use to be a favorite local spot is no longer. Maybe they're just use to takeout orders. I was embarrassed and won't be back.
They have incredible Thai food! One of my favorite Thai dishes is Khao Soi. The first time I had it was in Chiang Mai. It’s hard to find, so when I saw it here, I had to try it. It’s amazing! Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is very chill/laid back, but that’s what I want when I’m stuffing my face with delicious food.
Overall wouldn’t recommend over other Thai places in Atlanta.
Ordered the fried rice and a friend ordered pad Thai. The food itself was fine - nothing special. Felt like the dishes could’ve had more flavors / heat to them.
The service was also fine. They did well to let us know of any restrictions on dishes once they knew we were vegetarian, but otherwise nothing to write home about.
Pricing is okay - definitely on the higher end of what I’d expect, and probably not the best value when considering other options in my opinion.
Atmosphere was a bright spot. Well decorated and cool restaurant.
The quality of food and service has steeply declined. My family has always come here, work lunches, dinner.. you name it. The family that previously owned this business was friendly and the food was authentically Thai. But since they changed ownership( I presume) it now tastes like your average dirty Chinese food restaurant but at fine dining prices(40$). The last time I was here I grabbed my order because the takeout orders were set out in-front of the register, the lady at the front then took my order out of my hands(I paid online and waited at the front for my recipient). She then told me she needed a picture of my order. I left feeling uncomfortable and felt as though I wasted $40. So sad that this is what Spoon has become.
The staff is always nice, and the atmosphere is lovely. Would recommend
Went in for some pineapple fried rice... the hostess was very pleasant... the restaurant seem to be very nice... the food was good... I'll be back to try another dish
I used to be a weekly regular takeout customer until a couple years ago when they changed their menu. Was really disappointed. Ordered online and they got the order wrong (found out when I got home). The curries tasted bland and watered down. Not sure if it’s new management, but this was a completely different experience than the the amazing food I used to enjoy there.
Great food!
Not good Thai food at all. The menu reads beautifully but the execution is lackluster. Bland food. Soggy rice. Over cooked chicken. Boring pad Thai. Expensive. 1 adult and 2 kids and the bill was $100. Also the parking is horrible. Tight spaces. Too many businesses in the plaza with high traffic. Construction across the street and huge blocks of concrete preventing cars from easily navigating the lot.
Got food poisoning from the fried rice with shrimp. I’ll never eat here again. Been sick for almost a day now.
Good place for comfort food.
First tried this place years ago, really liked it. Always get the Khoi soi, however the quality has been steadily declining for some time. Ordered Togo today and drove home to eat my food since it’s more costly to eat inside. The Togo packaging process is terrible. My noodles were placed in a cardboard container which are too hot to put in this type of container thus causing the noodles to form shape and stick to the paper box. It was a task trying to get my noodles from box to bowl. This caused the noodles to become inedible due to the paper particles sticking on the noodles. The chicken was chewy and the level of spice was suppose to be “hot”. Tasted mild. I kept trying to give this place a chance, however tonight’s incident really frustrates me. $25 is not worth it.
our first experience at Spoon was not good. we ordered beef with our curry and the waitress didn't write anything down. the order came with chicken and because the wait staff are immature and do not circulate with the patrons (not even to fill my water glass during my meal. they stood in a corner on their phones. at one point i had to stand and walk towards the full bar to ask for more beverage) we had no way of telling them about the mistake. we ate the food and informed them about the mistake as we paid. the price was adjusted on the final bill to reflect the incorrect protein, but no compensation or apology was offered.
The cost of an entree is high as it is, and then for any meat at all you pay additional $4 - $9 which is outrageous for the portion of food that is offered.
to top everything off, a mandatory 20% tip is placed on your bill. it is no longer discretionary and you are help hostage to this amount, they referred to it as a "service charge" when questioned.
i do NOT recommend anything about Spoon. hospitality, portion, order efficiency or follow through as you dine. choose a Top Spice location in Atlanta for real Thai food and excellent service and kindness.
Dine in is always excellent. Take out is a hit or miss but the old owners always said pre COVID to order Togo at your own risk. It just doesn’t travel the best.
I used to be an avid fan of the food but lately its been just mediocre and definitely not worth the price.
Amazing food and great service!
The portions could be larger but the food is good
I am now a regular. Always have a great time. Guest service is impeccable. Everyone is open to checking on tables even if they haven’t taken your order. I never have to wait long for anything. They also know my order by heart <3 I also think it’s a great thing to include 20% to all guest checks dining in. It takes the headache out of trying to figure out the proper percentage and also properly compensates the servers and bartenders who work hard to uphold the correct service to each guest!
Watched Somebody feed Phil which featured Khao Soi. Historically not a big fan of Thai, but Spoon knocked this dish out the park 5/5
Food was good, and they don't like they add 20%. I ordered extra vegetables did not get them, but I was charged.
Food was very good we had the Rice noodles with the veggies and shrimp and the spring rolls
When my host ordered my pad thai, he did not specify the spice level so it came mild. This suited me fine, because I don't normally trust a place I've never been to to do it correctly anyway. But the flavors were all balanced so perfectly that I now know that whoever made my food is not only an artist, but is also capable of subduing their desire to make it as good as it can be (which is spicy) and using a restrained, mature hand.
I trust this place completely. My soup was also absolutely perfect. The next time I'm in Atlanta I'm going to take whoever I'm with to this place and they're going to make me look like a genius. 10/10
Ok
Always fresh and delicious, and super friendly staff!
Love love love the food!
The food is delicious and seating was plentiful. Also, the staff was nice and attentive. We will return for more delicious food.
I want to like this place as well, but my coconut soup was very watery, a small portion and not spicy enough and the chicken basil stir fry was also watery and not spicy enough. The chicken satay was just ok, but looked like it was taken off a buffet as if it had been preprepared. Everything was very pricey for what I got. And there’s nothing like a 20% surcharge (basically a mandatory tip fee) just to dine in to make me NOT want to dine in! No wonder the dining room was empty. I did take out, but probably won’t go back.
Love love loved it! The Thai tea is amazing. It was the perfect compliment to the spicy dishes. The server was friendly and attentive. Parking is horrible. So be prepared
Flavor is lacking for the price. Would recommend EAV Thai or 26 Thai instead.
Very nice workers and very pleasant attitude.
Best Thai in east atlanta. And they don’t mess around with their spice levels - so if you like it authentically Thai hot, this is the place for you! I’ve now tried their red curry, green curry, khao soi, and many of their appetizers and they were all delicious. You can’t go wrong with the food here.
Food is fabulous. The crab fried rice is to die for!
Love this restaurant... But not today. Just sat here, waited for the food, and was brought the check (with no entree). The comp for waiting was a rushed order and no gratuity included. We were not offered any real apology, you can keep the food.
One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I go there when I want to eat food that makes me feel good. The staff are always great. Great drinks. The fish protein is a huge portion. Never been disappointed.
A little bit more pricey for what I like to spend on Thai restaurants but the food was good. I got the crabmeat fried rice.
Good Thai food
I was excited to try this place. I had heard good things about it, seen the good reviews, and was ready to find quality Thai food in Atlanta.
I was severely disappointed. I went with my partner and the food we ordered was barely scratching the surface as “the best Thai food in Atlanta” as some reviews say.
We ordered the pot stickers and they came out with a small pile of bean sprouts on top. Once we dug past those and tasted the pot stickers, they were not hot whatsoever. We ate 2 off the plate (you receive 7 total with each order, this is important). The inside stuffing did also not have a very pleasant taste. They were not fresh at all. Anyone could tell that they had been sitting out for a bit, and it seemed that in order to hide that, the restaurant threw bean sprouts on top.
Once our food came, we told our waitress and she took them back. They came back some very quick minutes later, with 5!!!! on the plate, and a whole new batch of bean sprouts on top, to hide the fact that they had been microwaved.
Our food was fine; there was nothing spectacular or 5 stars about it. The only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because my Pad Zu was good, but undetectable of a “home-made sweet soy sauce.” There was nothing about this food that screamed “best Thai food in Atlanta.” If you want food that will satisfy your cravings for ANOTHER Thai restaurant, this is the place for that. I saw another review that said something along the lines of the quality of this food does not match the price, and I think that as well. We spent over $50 for something I could’ve microwaved at home.
Typical upper-end Thai place with the normal menu selections if you've been to a few Thai restaurants. Spices and heat level was spot-on. Veggies were fresh and tasty. Prices were on the high side. A dinner for 2 and a drink each was $80 (including mandatory 20% gratuity). Maybe that's typical for gentrified sections of Atlanta but all things considered it was "OK" overall.
Good food
The food was great! The drinks were average but overall a great experience.
Everything was very delicious, especially the crab fried rice!
Spoon food was very tastie, We were unaware of 20% cost per person just to eat in / sit inside or on patio . So we choose our food to go. I understand Covid hurt the $$ but who in their right pays 20% on each bill unless it's a tip .
Quality food. The food I had was amazing and the cocktails are so good. Best thia place I've been to by far and they have the nicest staff. Would highly recommend.
JULY 30 2022 DINING REVIEW
My girlfriend and I walked into an empty restaurant. Understood there would be an surcharge for dining in. Fine.
After we sat down we then had to get back up to order at the register. Eh.
Paid over $80 for 2 fried rice, roti & Thai wings.
Atmosphere: a bit undone? To my right there was literally a curtain held up by zip ties covering miscellaneous items…ok?
But they get 2 stars because after all of that you’re not even able to get a refill on a sprite? The employee had to ask the bartender…who had to ask the manager who then said NO REFILLS on a SPRITE YALL….a sprite.
Mind you we just paid over $100 now TIP INCLUDED …..for no refills on coke products. So you’re telling me I have to GET BACK up from eating..to stand in a line…to order a sprite.
A HARD NO for me.
Wont be back. Killed my mood, food had a sour taste.
Loved the pineapple fried rice! It was well seasoned and had a good variety of flavors. There is a 20% extra charge for dining in due to worker shortage so we did take out. The food came out within 5-6 minutes so it was super fast. Definitely want to come back and try the other dishes!
Horrible experience
They excel at making you feel unwelcome
They auto grat despite the lack of service
Fried shrimp was fishy and chewy
They cannot grill your fish, it’s either steamed or fried
Zero effort to make a connection
if you want the best thai in atlanta, with the best atmosphere, and the best drinks, come here. you’re a regular after you’ve visited once. the kind folks here will remember your order and the service is excellent!
This place is a staple for Atlanta’s Thai best food. I tried the pineapple fried rice & it was perfection. They even let you cater your entree to your preferred spice level. I’ll be back again!
consistently delicious. perfect amount of heat, always arrives hot and fresh even with uber eats. i've had a LOT of dishes from this place and none of them have ever disappointed me. i love u spoon <3
Food was amazing and staff was super friendly. We will be back when we visit Georgia again.
Pretty damn good. The beef satay with peanut sauce is very good and their Pad Thai is solid. It’s a step below what you’d get in Thailand, but a solid choice for the Grant Park area. Service is very friendly and the restaurant atmosphere is pleasant.
The best Thai food Ive had in a whole. The food came so quickly and the portions were perfect. 10/10 recommend
Bartender was awesome!! Food was good also.
The food is okay, but wasn't special. About $68 for 3 boxes of small portions that were not nearly as tasty as other Thai restaurants.
Spoon Eastside will spoil with their food! Since enjoying the food here, I am so picky about any other Thai restaurant because it just doesn’t measure up to Spoon for me! The cocktails are really solid too. Make sure to try out the Lychee Martini. Run by a wonderful family who really cares about their customers, employees, and community.
Was headed to Little Azio’s, but wanted to try something different. Since I always saw people going into Spoon, I thought I’d try it. I ordered a $14 meal, which I thought automatically came with a meat. After having to add the chicken, which was an up charge, and extra veggies, the $14 turned into a $26 meal. You would think for that price, they’d make sure to provide napkins and a fork, right? Wrong! It wasn’t like there was a rush as there were only a 4 or 5 people in the restaurant. That should’ve been my indication to leave. What’s more is the food wasn’t even worth the money. First and last experience with them.
Spoon used to be my FAVORITE THAI restaurant in Atlanta. I have not been since the pandemic and went last week. The service was sub par and the food was not as fresh as it was known for. I had the Thai Basil fried rice and sweet chili chicken wings. The wings were small and taste of old grease and not as crispy breaded and larger as it once was. Even the sauce was thick and and firm.
Half of the restaurant seating area has been used as storage and covered with drapes. The back by the restrooms smells rancid, which all in all made my stomach turn.
The maître d', if you want to call it that, made us order in the front even before we were seated. He was not inviting and had an " It is what it is" type of mannerisms.
Since this WAS my favorite Thai Restaurant, I will try one more time bc everyone has moments of reconstruction. Hopefully I came at a bad time and the redemption is better.
ONE OF MY GO TO THAI SPOTS ITP
We love, love, love this place! The food is amazing, drinks are awesome and great customer service. This has become our go to spot. My new favorite meal is the crabmeat and shrimp radna! Thank me later!
Nice Thai restaurant to visit. The set up confused me at first. I asked the server if I could sit at a table to which he confirmed. After about three minutes, I observed four young men enter the establishment and wait in line at the cashier that precedes the dining area and then give their order. I moved to the bar and told the bartender and he relayed that I was supposed to order at the cashier first and then seat myself. More clarity on this issue would have been appreciated. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed the Pad Zu most. I tried the blueberry spring rolls for dessert to never having heard of them (the bartender confirmed they are an original concept) and they contained blueberries (I think it was more blueberry compote and a small amount at that), chocolate, and some kind of cheese which I do not recall (it was one I haven't heard of). Although I liked, it would have to be an acquired taste (in other words, I need a reason to indulge again LOL). The menu is diverse as the dishes are separated into rice, noodles, and curry along with sauce(s) and protein(s). Nice touch. There is also a diverse alcoholic beverage menu which is full of original drinks. All in all, I enjoyed my visit and will swing by again when near. Highly recommend.
I really wanted to love this place but the pad Thai was just a little underwhelming. I expected a mix of distinct elements; this was a fairly homogeneous bed of noodles. Overall flavor was good, but not as spicy as I imagined 'medium spicy' would be.
My dining companions enjoyed their own dishes very much, I'll be back for something else soon.
Restaurant was very clean and staff were friendly.
