We had the Thai shaumai, and the black sauce and dumplings were fantastic.
Then for our entree, we had the eggplant basil with no added protein. It was one of the best meals! The brown sauce was a highlight and the eggplant was cooked perfectly. Overall, 5 stars for food and service!
This place is a hole in the wall but we don't think it'll remain this way for long. While there, every table was full and there were just as many to-go orders during our dine-in.
Def try the green curry coconut chicken, the pad thai and the pineapple fried rice!
Our kids loved the fried rice with cashew. If you wait awhile...just note, it is so worth the wait. This was some of the best Thai food I have ever had and have been to Thailand and lived in Asia.
The service was top notch. The waitress who handled the entire restaurant was apologetic for the wait and was extremely good at balancing all the service and customers.
Will definitely be back! The only complaint is that they aren't closer to our home.
It was a decent Thai restaurant, a lot of items we ordered tasted better or different in a good ways. Really enjoyed their pad Thai and asparagus shrimp. The satay is the best satay I’ve ever had, I took the satay to go and it was still smoky when I ate it. The mango sticky rice is with the purple sticky rice, the way it was cooked was very special, I’d say 5% of the rice was slightly undercooked, so it’s kinda chewy when I ate it, very good texture.
We ordered to out. We paid $42.00 for two lunch plates. We ordered chow mein and veggies and chicken and rice, and pork egg rolls. The food was ok, and they served very little food, definitely not worth the money, I will not be returning.
Lovely spot, great location by Halifax Plantation. Owned and run by a very nice couple. Wife runs the front of house, husband does the cooking. Very good menu of authentic Thai dishes. Everything is prepared to order. Table service and carry out. Open for lunch and dinner everyday except Wednesday. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and amazing people

The Pineapple Fried Rice is soooooo good!
This Thai Food Snob Thought this was Excellent.
I was deciding one evening should I have Thai Chinese Italian. I chose Thai. My wife said hey how are you. I said good. She said are you working tomorrow? I said yes are you. She said I’m going in later.
Consistently tasty, well priced and easy
I had chicken pad Tai and the shrimp egg rolls. Both were delicious. This was our first time, we will be back

Great food. Great service.
Excellent as usual .. The Chili Basil, Spicy .. both thumbs up !!

Food is delicious, prepared fresh, and nice staff
I ordered Pad Thai! For the price, you don't get much. I asked the lady if it's a good portion because the it was pretty pricy she said it was. They gave me a small container and it wasn't even filled. Very disappointing. No sides with it either. The flavor was fair, I couldn't really say it was delicious. It came out in a just few minutes and was extremely hot, couldn't even hold it, burning my hands. It tells me it was probably microwaved. The name Thai Elephant is deceiving.
Nice place, very clean, friendly service. The curry was very good.
Great food and service always very consistent.

Some of the best Thai I've had. So good!
Food is decent. Be aware that prices have been raised recently by $2 on most everything. $7 for small Tom Yum soup now. Not knocking the owners but I’m close to a breaking point with restaurants. Already slowed down to half of the times I go out. Bummer…
We tried this great little jewel of a restaurant last night. Loved the service and food!
I never post online, but I loved this restaurant so much that I was compelled to. What an incredibly charming little place in Ormond Beach. This is the best authentic Thai food I've ever had in Florida, and I can say this as someone who lived in Thailand for 3+ years. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are the quintessential salty, spicy, sweet, and sour. Get the Salmon Mango, or any of their salads really, and you will never ever be disappointed with their Crispy Basil Duck (a chicken version exists for non-duck eaters, but the duck is where it's at). The sweetest thing at this restaurant though is the owner and proprietor. She is the loveliest lady, and on days when she's not busy, she's a great friend. I know this restaurant will remain a neighborhood staple for decades to come--check it out now.
Newly opened. Food is delicious! However, it is a very small restaurant that is short-staffed They do a tremendous amount of take out. Highly recommend that you call ahead to get your food ordered before going. Staff very friendly but takes a long time.
Ñoo. Aquí venden arroz con mango.
The food was well prepared and served hot. The spice was at the level requested. The service was great! My new Thai restaurant for sure.
This is a small cute restaurant. The food was good it was just a little bland. I would give it another try.
My first time there. I wanted a pork entree but was given chicken instead on my take out order. It was delicious so I didn’t mind the mix up. Will be going back for sure.
Be patient. That's all I have to say and it is worth it.
Good food, with super friendly staff! Love the basil crispy chicken!!!
The owners are so kind. The food is amazing.
Been here quite often...just delicious...comfortable..soothing envirnmentm...great owners..very accommodation...authentic Thai food
Nice place
This place has very good food. Small quant dinning room. Ordered to go!! You won't be disappointed.💯👌✅
started eating here less than a month ago, have not been disappointed by the food yet. they have a new girl, she is a bit off pase, but I sure hope she catches on to the program soon. ordered extra chopped onion in my pineapple fried rice last night, but got no onions except green onions
Food is always delish! We do take out often & never disappoints 😋 Veggies are fresh & crisp!! You can pick how spicy/hot you can handle!
What an incredible restaurant! The true meaning of family-operated. This places serves the best Thai food within a 50-mile radius. Whether you're local or passing through on I-95, this is worth a stop. Everything from their appetizers (shrimp rolls, dumplings) and their soups (the Tom Kha is a MUST!), to their entrees (crispy basil duck, pad kee mao, and fried rice) and more is fantastic. Have never tried a dish from here that I didn't like. The owner and waitress is a wonderful woman who will take the time to make you feel like home. Sometimes they get busy and wait times are longer, but if you're a kind human and can understand that, this place is worth the wait. GO VISIT THEM NOW.
I’ve been here once for dine-in and ordered 3 times for takeout. The food is consistently really good, and the prices aren’t that bad. Today I paid $19 for Spicy Basil Fried Rice, and a small order of Thom Kha soup, and the portions were pretty big. I respect they fill the containers to the very top with food. In my opinion this place is the best Thai restaurant in the area :)
This is my favorite/the best thai restaurant in town. I love the spicy basil fried rice and all the appetizers. The sweet mango sticky rice dessert is also delicious.
Every time I’m in the area and they’re open. I’m definitely stopping. Best Thai food I’ve found yet.
The restaurant is very dirty. We had a group of four and two of us got sick. It took 25 minutes to get our food even though we were the only group in the restaurant. The lady working there is also extremely rude.
Thai elephant is one of my favorite local restaurants! I eat here at least once a week and the service from the owner is unmatched. I’ve never had a bad meal and I always recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Thai food. If they were open 7 days a week, I’d eat there 2x/week!
I went to Thai Elephant for lunch today. Food was perfect. Service was excellent. Price is reasonable. I'm pretty sure this Thai restaurant will be my favorite restaurant.
Good food nice menu selection small operation
Very expensive $45 for lunch for two people. The beef satay for $8 was extremely small they don't even have yellow curry for a Thai restaurant? When we left, we left a small tip and the lady who we believe to be the owner wasn't happy and asked for more tip money. I do not recommend nor will we ever go back. I see the owners response however she's not truthful not only did she hand the tip money back to my wife but she said I deserve 15% of the $48. Yes I did take a small box of food home because my wife follows Buddha and we're not allowed to waste food. And you put Buddha in your restaurant so you should be honest respect your customers and respect Buddha and stop spreading lies.
Great food, curry was delicious but missing some heat.
It's good
It's a small but delightful little spot with great Thai food and wonderful service! I'm local and will make this a go-to spot.
The food is superb. They do tend to get a little busy so you may have to wait but it's completely worth it.
I just had some pad kee mao and mango sticky rice to-go. The person working the front was very capable, and the food was pretty good (better than expected for the area). I’ve had the same dishes many places, and I’d come back if I were local.
Very friendly. Super clean and fresh food. Highly recommend. This is one of those places. You kind of selfishly don't want to highly rate it to keep people from finding out about it. But it's truly a hidden gem in plain sight. Everything we ordered was full of flavor. Freshly made and authentic.
Food was tastless...tried it twice...both times..awful
Great service and the best spicyThai basil chicken I've ever had!
Quite tasty! And just off I-95 if you find yourself hungry in Florida and near (just south of) St Augustine.
Pad Thai was really good. And we loved the crispy duck. Service was great!
I can’t say enough about the food and the service! Everything was made from scratch! What a wonderful experience! Definitely have to come back!
We are new to the area and finally found our new "go to" thai restaurants. The food was amazing and our waitress Nicole was awesome.
Phenomenal Thai food, their curries are fabulous, my only negative is the lack of availability for the more common Thai desserts.
Excellent basil fried rice and my husband got shrimp curry. First time we tried it will definitely be back! Soooo good!
Beware! They charge a fee for using a credit card. Our first time there we were greeted by the owner and sat at a table. Got a menu and spent $50 for a dinner. Little did we notice a small sign at the cash register talked about the fee. They did have a robust take out clients and the sign was easy for them to see but unfortunately for us there was no notice on the menu. We were a little shocked but did leave a generous tip and enjoyed our food. But there will not be a next time…
The best Thai food I've had in a long time..friendly service very clean and the food is a must try .HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very good.
Try to place an order by telephone for take out with this restaurant...I dare you. I tried many times on a Friday afternoon between 1:15 and 2:45 and could only get a recording. Then tried to place an internet order for pickup and there was no way to do that either. I'm not going to beg an establishment to take my money, there are plenty of others that make it easy to order carryout - I'll give my business to one of them.
Some of the best Thai food in the area!
The food was delicious! I haven’t had Thai food that tasted that fresh in a very long time. Also, the portions were large and filling….YUM!
I believe the lady at the counter was the owner. Sorry, I didn’t get her name.
She was very sweet, efficient, and patient with my questions.
Totally disgusting and unsafe food. Second bite had a hair in it. They must have never cooked tofu in their lives; this meal is not even edible. The tofu is completely disintegrated and undercooked. Looks like they didn't even remove the water by pressing the tofu. What a complete rip off. I am totally disgusted by their carelessness. If you don't like your job, go back to school.
I was in the mood for something different - other than my usual go-to, take out restaurants. I’m glad I took a chance and gave the Thai Elephant a try. I wasn’t expecting much or to be as pleased as I was - this was a very nice surprise. I ordered fried rice with chicken, tom yum soup, shrimp rolls, cucumber salad and rice pudding. Each were absolutely wonderful and full of flavor. I could taste and see that each dish was prepared using fresh ingredients. The seasonings were fantastic. I was very pleased with the friendly and polite service when I called and when I picked up my order. The dining area was very clean too. I most definitely recommend this restaurant. It’s been added to my go-to list when I’m looking for take out.
Very nice small restaurant
We enjoyed our dinner and have gone back
Clean and caring staff
Great little gem. Friendly service. Delicious food. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with tofu. Yummy! It had their perfect amount of spiciness. The tofu was not as crispy as some restaurants, but I prefer it not overly fried. Plus, there was a lot of it. I only wish there were more vegetables in the dish.
The restaurant has a simple and cozy aesthetic, and the dishes we got were the best we’ve had in quite some time, definitely going there again.
A Very clean family owned restaurant.
The food is Excellent!
My new favorite place! Clean, good prices and AMAZING food!
Man what a gem. The food is just overwhelmingly clean and well crafted and inexpensive. Clean thai food. Can't have enough!!!!! Sorry. Will add photos in rhe future .
We had lunch here today and it was absolutely delicious!!!! Truly wonderful, fresh food with a nice menu variety. A hidden gem!
Wow !!
Food is awesome!! So rich and flavorful… amazing !
The service was great, the lady is very nice and make you feel home
Thanks I’ll be back !
Always eat here when visiting Ormond. Great tasting food and friendly staff.
Food delicious! Nice quiet music and pleasant ambiance. Friendly and efficient service. Exceeded all expectations. Thank you for coming to our area. Much success!
Very good food. Always pleasant. The owner always tries to make it a welcoming atmosphere. Come in and try it and you will love it.
Aroy Mak Mak
Very pleased to have this restaurant in this area. The food is excellent, at reasonable prices and service is very good. I used to travel to Thailand regularly and can say that the food here is very authentic.I normally have the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with either chicken or shrimp. The Curry Puff appetizer is very good as is the Crispy Calamari. I have taken a few of my friend here and they all loved it. The Lunch Specials offer a very good selection.
My wife and I stopped in and enjoyed Chicken Coconut Soup, Padse-ew and spring rolls. For desert we enjoyed Pumpkin Custard. We will definitely be back to try the Pad Thai
Excellent authentic tasting Thai food. Good portion for resonable price. Pleasant owners, great experience!!
Great experience!! The Thai cashew nut was amazing as well as the massaman curry, everyone was very welcoming. Definitely will be coming back.
Everything tasted fresh and were the flavors expected.
Always closed. Sorry! In response to your reply....on Friday afternoon, June 10th you were CLOSED! Each time I go there, you are closed. Sorry, but this MY experience!
Ate there once and had carry out once and the food was good fast friendly service.
Very good
The food was below average for Thai food in the area, pricing was pretty brutal and it seemed like, as others have mentioned, when placing an order on the phone that I was bothering the girl on the other end. Maybe this passes for customer service in NYC, but not here.
I'll potentially be back but for now, the trip to Thai Kitchen is worth the difference for me.
We asked for the Curry Puff appetizer that says on the menu comes with ground chicken and we didn’t see or taste any chicken in it. Then I ordered the Pad Kee Mao noodle plate that we already knew was spicy, so we asked for the heat scale because we know all the restaurants don’t have the same level of it. The server told us medium was not hot. I’m a spicy lover, so I decided to ask for medium. When the food came out to the table I couldn't eat mine, it burned my mouth. My boyfriend who eats lots of hot food said "yes it's pretty hot sure isn't medium"… I gave the food back to the server letting know the server I couldn’t eat it, she apologized and took the plate with all the food. She talked with the manager who decided gave us a $2 dollar discount telling us that we asked for a spicy plate That’s why it was hot and I repeated to her that we asked for the heat scale ….at the end we shared my boyfriend's meal, we were still hungry and we paid for 2 meals and the appetizer… they still charged us for the food you took away. $2 bucks.... We didn't ask for any discounts or free food. Figure out how to scale your heat and inform your staff how to explain.
Great food, excellent service, so glad this restaurant is here!! Yum! Finally a green papaya salad that tastes like I want!
If I could put zero stars I would, we’ve given this restaurant a lot of chances and they keep disappointing us. The first time we ordered there they didn’t give us rice for all the meals we ordered so we talked on the phone with them for 15mins just to get the rice and by the time we got it, our food was cold. Then today we ordered a Thai style lo mein and it came with a lot tofu, we called the number of the place and they argued with us saying that tofu is a vegetable and it comes with the meal but on the picture I have you can see that it says you have a CHOICE of adding tofu because tofu is a meat substitute and NOT a vegetable. I asked them if we can get a meal next time we come in because we were already home and she said we had to drive ALL the way back there and home and get it right now so I said no and that we won’t be eating food from them again and before I hung up she literally admitted that other people have complained 😂 0/10 food -1000/10 customer service will NEVER be eating there again
Food is delicious, but the portions seem to have gotten smaller. Ordered chicken fried rice and chicken garlic with vegetables, bill was $30 seemed a bit pricey for the amount of food.
Not top notch. Closer than my favorite Thai off Granada and A1A… Worth the visit and see if it fits your palate. I do applaud them for opening new in the middle of these crazy times!
Thanks for opening! My wife and I had takeout the other night and it was excellent! I would like to take an opportunity to say thank you for providing a great new restaurant in our area. Also thank you for the hard work and dedication it takes to open a restaurant In these trying times. Lack of staffing etc. best of luck looking forward to our next meal with you.
Great food. They can make it spicy if you like. It's a little ways from the city center, but the food is very good. There's not many tables for dine in, so be aware of that, call ahead.
Food very good, clean, very busy. We had chicken pad Thai, chicken curry, tom yum soup, few appetizers. All great.
None of the reviews I read mentioned anything about the 3.75% credit card fee? Not sure if people all paid by cash or if they check their bills? When I questioned it, I was told that this is a FL law that all merchants charged it? I understand that FL does allow a credit card surcharge, but this is the 1st time that I’ve been charged by a merchant.
4-star on the food - above average but not amazing compared to other Thai restaurants within 30 miles of the area. At 12:37pm on a weekday, I placed an order for lunch special and was given and charged for dinner price.
3-star on the service - I won’t use “rude” like some other reviews, but definitely “not friendly” like most of my other business experiences in the neighborhood. Will I go back? Yes only for the convenience, but not too often and not my top choice.
Placed our order and 45 minutes later still no food. Told me to go home and come back later. I waited in the parking lot. 15 minutes later food was ready, got home and the chicken in peanut sauce was some sort of fried thing that looked like pork rinds. No taste at all was horrible. The peanut sauce was burned tasting. I won't go again. There are much better Thai restaurants in Ormond and Palm coast.
The food was good, but way overpriced for what you get. Two takeout dinners for $30. Containers are not large, and maybe 1/2 full.
When we placed orders we were told 20-25 minutes to pick up and within 10 minutes they were calling us and asking when we were going to pick them up……Geez… not impressed
Called to place an order. Was told after the order was placed that there would be an hour wait. I mentioned that I was in the parking lot and they didn’t look busy. At that point I was told by Savanika (I’m sure misspelled) that they were at capacity. I then said well so want time would it be ready, she then said do you want to place the order or not, and hung up. I assumed that meant the order wasn’t placed. I was then Called 2.5 hrs later asking if I was going to pick up my order. When we explained that she hung up so we assumed she didn’t place it, she became very argumentative and condescending, made it very clear that she was not an owner and laughed that we were disappointed at our first experience. I would suggest as an owner of a new place in a very family oriented neighborhood that you correct your staffing issues!
I understand you are new to our area. But there is no reason to be rude and yell at a customer that's excited to see you in our back yard. This isn't New York so check your attitude.
I never got to try your food because you yelled " we are to busy and our kitchen is working at full capability, when I call to make a order. Looks like it will be awhile before I try your food. Or wait for you to go away like the other asian food restaurant (the same place you are) with the same issues before you.
First time in. Pad Thai and Thai wings. Winner, winner! Great decor, 5 tables if you care to dine in.
Best thai food in the neighborhood don’t miss a single thing here ,everything was delicious really recommended , pad Thai fantastic , pad ke mao delicious and the spice you can ask the level you like really good 👍🏻
