Introduction to Isan Food
Isan is the Northeast region of Thailand so when talking about Isan food is one of the most widely eaten variations. Isan food has a unique characteristic that all dishes mostly consist of herbs, spices, fermented ingredients as well as many selections of protein. Across Thailand you can find Isan food every corners. Som Tum (papaya salad) is the most renowned dish of the region, but there are so many more mouthwatering Isan dishes for you to experiencing it.
A Michelin-starred Thai restaurant in Omega Union—definitely a must-try when visiting the area. The most impressive dishes were the grilled squid and the coconut chicken soup. Their curries, tom yum, and coconut soup allow you to choose your preferred protein—chicken, beef, or pork. Every dish was incredibly fresh and flavorful, making for a truly memorable dining experience.
We liked this place so much, we ended up eating there twice in just 2 days. Food is just amazing, but careful if you ask for a medium spice, it was a 10 for a “normal” person haha, and even so i still ate it all lol. Everything we had there was the best we ever had, and we ate at another Thai michelin restaurant in Miami, but this was better. You wont be disappointed
During our trip to Orlando, we stumbled upon Isan Zaap Thai Cafe, and it turned out to be an absolute gem! The food was so incredible that we visited multiple times within a week.
The Tom Yum soup stood out as a highlight—it was perfectly balanced with its tangy, spicy, and aromatic flavors, full of fresh ingredients like mushrooms, shrimp, and herbs. Another favorite was the Basil Pork Rice, a simple yet addictive dish bursting with bold and savory flavors. Every bite carried the perfect mix of spice and umami.
The ambiance of the restaurant added to the experience, offering a cozy yet vibrant vibe that made us feel at home. The service was prompt and friendly, which only made the dining experience more enjoyable.
This place truly deserves its recognition for serving authentic Thai cuisine, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Orlando. Don’t leave without trying the Tom Yum soup—you won’t regret it!
Michelin guide? Seriously?? need to revise that. Our experience was not great at all. First service, we got rolled eyes from server when questions were asked. Not once server came and check on us. When cleaning our plates, everything were pilled up and throw in one bowl aggressively, on the table. Not one "thank you" was said when dropping check & left the restaurant. Food was not that great, moo ping pork has weird taste. They used dry noodle instead of fresh one for pad ke mao. Pork ribs in tom zapp were tough. The only dish that was good was boat noodle soup. Papaya salad was bland also.
Authentic Thai food at reasonable price!Michelin guide for year 2023 and 2024. I never expected such authentic Thai food in Orlando.
We ordered green curry with seafood and panang curry with chicken. We had at soice level of 5, but I recommend to have less spice level.
Grilled squid was the best squid I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned and cooked soft. Papaya salad was amazing but make sure you order with less spicy level.
Grilled squid, Pad Thai, both curry dishes, papaya salad, and Thai iced tea were so good. We will definitely come back to try other dishes on our next trip to Orlando.
Michelin star award for 2 consecutive years. To achieve 2023 and 2024.
To be honest, the food is quite delicious for foreigners, but not for Thais. The food tends to be sweet.
The restaurant is clean and has a nice decoration.
The grilled squid was good and delicious. Grilled to perfection, not tough.
Pork jerky was excellent.
This food portion is good for sharing.
The server was quick and friendly.
After a day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we were looking for a good meal and decided to try this place on my brother’s recommendation—he’s been here multiple times. It’s no surprise this restaurant is recognized in the Michelin Guide. The food was outstanding, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you can’t handle spicy food, be sure to request a mild level. I ordered a variety of Thai classics, including red curry and tom yum soup—all of them were absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in Orlando!
We really enjoy good Thai good and jumped at the opportunity to visit the Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded Isan Zaap Thai Cafe. The atmosphere was bright and cozy. Staff worked as a team - very polite, kind, friendly, attentive as well as very happy to explain & recommend dishes. Great menu with traditional isan zaap dishes not normally found in Thai restaurants in the US. Everything we ordered was made fresh and every bite was filled with flavor - wonderful balance of heat and spice.
Taste :4.6/5
Environment: 4.5/5
Service:4.3/5
A Michelin-recommended Thai restaurant that masterfully blends traditional Thai flavors with American culinary creativity. Each dish here is a testament to inventive fusion, offering a delightful twist on classic Thai cuisine.
Recommend
💛 curry
The curry at Isan ZAAP is a must-try. Rich and aromatic, it features a perfect blend of spices that create a symphony of flavors in every bite. The creamy texture and vibrant color make it as visually appealing as it is tasty.
💛 pork shoulder.
Equally impressive is the pork shoulder. Tender and succulent, the pork is cooked to perfection, with a smoky flavor that enhances its natural richness.
The dish is beautifully presented, with a generous portion that is perfect for sharing. The combination of textures and flavors makes it a standout on the menu.
Really enjoyed the food here! Their curry was flavorful! And the grilled squid is top recommended! It was tender and especially with the dipping sauce, which had a nice spicy kick! The crab meat fried rice was also quite good. The only concern I had was the pork neck, which was a bit dry and not as tender as I expected. But overall, everything else was great, and I’d definitely come back!
What a menu! This was our first time here, and boy, did we really enjoy it! We came in with a large family( 2 adults and 9 children) we decided to order a lot of the menu items to allow our family and opportunity to try as many as possible. The food was served very hot and very prompt. It is definitely deserving of the Michelin Star. The issues We had were the automatic gratuity. We are one family, not multiple parties. We keep our ordering simple. We ordered only water, and only one person does the ordering, so our server isn't too overwhelmed. The food and service were so good that we would have gladly given a larger tip than what they automatically take. The last issue was the disgustingly dirty bathrooms. We paid almost 300.00 and did not expect to walk into a nasty bathroom. It was very odd to be inside a restaurant with a nice ambiance and a gross bathroom. Yuck!

Amazing food. Top 3 Thai I’ve had in my life. Would go back again in a heart beat
Suprise delicious Thai dishes in Orlando, Florida
Reasonable price and authentic, real north-east, Issan Thai tasting plates.
Pad-thai, somtum and kra pao, grilled squid were really amazing choice to have dine-in.
It reminds
Furthermore Clean and nice decor !
Thanks for the great meal time !!!
P.s. it is the spot normally busy so be careful in rush dinner time !
I ordered the red curry chicken and requested mild. It was extremely spicy. The three tiny pieces of chicken were like rubber. I would NOT recommended eating here. I’ve had red curry chicken and several different places and all were very good. Gave the food one star, but it deserves none.
One of the worst dine in experience! Michelin guide? I bet now day there is not standard for that now! Food was flavorless, seafood wasn’t fresh! Service was HORRIBLE, not one come check us from food placed on the table til we ask for the checks! All crews just sitted and chatted! Also, the food is definitely over price, not worth at all! If u like Thai, the one in the bj plaza next to it, which is way better than this!

I’ll just add to the choir, here. This is the best Thai food I’ve ever had. I tried the Green and Panang Curry, Pad Thai, and Chicken Satay.
Phenomenal panang curry, went with family and while I don't normally get Thai the spice level and flavor profile were perfect a subtle burn with a ton of taste. Worth the trip to try it
I brought my parents to try Thai food for their first time. The food is good and different, they tried out a bunch of new items. But at the end when my dad was still eating, the lady asked if he finished or not while grabbing the plate away! I mean, she just stopped him from finishing his plate.... The restaurant was not packed or waiting on us to turn the table.... It could be a wonderful experience but unfortunately not
I don’t understand how such an ordinary dish can be priced at $25. I ordered a plate of som tum, and the egg was just a plain boiled egg cut into pieces. The rice noodles were simply boiled in water without any flavor. The sausage tasted like any regular sausage, nothing special. The other type of sausage contained something similar to pork skin, which I assume is a Thai specialty. I’m not sure what it’s called, but the flavor left no impression and there were only a few pieces. The fried pork skin was flavorless and not crispy at all. Overall, it was an extremely ordinary dish—absolutely terrible!
Here’s a refined, professional, and friendly version of your review:
Disappointed with Isaan Zaap – Not Worth the Hype
I am from Thailand, we were excited to try Isaan Zaap on January 5, 2025, given its reputation and Michelin Stars status. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing in both service and food quality.
We ordered over $100 worth of dishes for lunch but ended up eating only 3 out of the 6 before deciding to leave. Here’s why:
1. Seating Issues: The restaurant lacked sufficient indoor seating, so we were placed at a table without shade. We politely asked our waiter to move us to a more comfortable table as soon as one became available. Initially, he agreed, but later refused when other customers arrived, citing management’s decision. This felt like poor customer service. This was all communicated in Thai.
2. Service Missteps: The sequence of food delivery was baffling. Our dessert was served alongside our appetizers, which made no sense. My husband’s meal arrived while my dishes were nowhere to be seen, leaving me to sit awkwardly staring at the dessert. It was frustrating and poorly managed. Also our dessert came out with our appetizers. I’m so confused.
3. Food Quality: The dishes failed to impress. The Laab balls were dry, and the northern sausages were mediocre at best. For a restaurant with such accolades, we expected much better.
4. Hygiene Concerns: The restroom was noticeably unclean, indicating a lack of attention to basic hygiene. This was especially concerning for a restaurant of this caliber.
Overall, the experience felt more like a money-driven operation than a genuine dining establishment. Sadly, we cannot recommend Isaan Zaap.
The clerk was very rude. I ordered a meal to go, and they made me stand and wait.
We had crispy rice ball salad, boat noodle, som tum tray, grill chicken, beef jerky. Everything was good except for the grill chicken...it basically was costco chicken and not even fresh either. You can tell the chicken was old / reheated. This why i giving it 3 stars. I highly suggest they remove the grill chicken from the menu or really "grill" thier own chicken!!! Whoever is doing the Michelin rating needs to order this grill chicken, guarantee will be 3 stars or less.
The food is ok, but it cannot match my expectations for Michelin recommendation. We were seated immediately around 12. We had the stir fry basil and steam lemon fish, which are good. The only thing is that steaming fish took time. The mango sticky rice is tasty but small portion. The Thai milk tea is 4/5 ice.
The food was delicious and authentic.
For the first time our family we went to eat there and everything was absolutely good. The staff inside is so friendly and patiently. All was espectular!
Great Food!
服务差,食物差
My wife is Thai and was told by so many people to try this place. It was very busy but the staff was very nice so little things that were missed I can excuse. The food was very good and although my wife is from South Thailand instead of Isan, she loved it. She said it was very authentic. My Panang curry was full of flavor and perfectly spicy. I like to try different places but my wife only will come eat here in Orlando.
Best Thai flood I I had in my life
The food is the real deal.
So good to find authentic som tam in Orlando.
Spicier than I expected, but can't stop, won't stop... :)
One of the best thai restaurants I have been to! The food was delicious! 10/10 recommend!
Thai Cafe is an Michelin restaurant. Tom Yum soup is yummy, the Thai milk tea is good and the dishes are served promptly. Ample parking and attentive service make the experience even better. Love!
I love Thai food it’s a nice place
整體店的氣氛不錯食物好吃

The service was excellent, but the food was very disappointing. We thought that, being recommended by Michelin, it would be good. However, we ordered three dishes, and none of them were worth it. Even a simple dish like Pad Thai was not good at all; we left half of it uneaten.
Awesome restaurant with great food!
Waiting, but foods were great.
The food was unbearably salty. One of the female staff members had a terrible attitude. She didn’t proactively refill our water, even though we had finished it, and since the food was so salty, we had to ask her for more. It took a long time for her to bring it. When we requested takeout boxes, she simply tossed them on our table without a word or a smile. Out of politeness, we still left an 18% tip, but honestly, the service didn’t deserve a single penny. 👎💦
Got the boat noodle and Nam Tok. Boat noodle was great.
But the Nam Tok steak beef was not. Too sweet and not enough umami spicy. And half my steak were very hard bone like cartilage that I cannot chew or eat.
Will try other dishes but I’m afraid they cater to American standards too much making most dishes sweet rather than spicy salty.
Finally found a Thai restaurant that makes their own curry pastes in house! The only dish that wasn't great was the Chicken Satay because the sauce was too thin, but it was still good. Green curry and pad thai were the best we've had in Orlando. Service was friendly, and prices were reasonable. This place deserves its Michelin Bib Gourmand status. I'd definitely come back!
Food was great, environment was cozy. Definitely worth the visit and the vibe made everything better.
The Thai tea was on point and so was the coconut drink. The rice was cooked right and everything else was freshly made.
The servers were polite and generous. I do have some suggestions for the employees to talk with indoor voices, totally understand is a restaurant environment but just tone it down a little bit. Other than that visit was great with friends.
First time dine in here, food is good and the restaurant is nicely decorated BUT!!! The service is extremely POOR!! I have never find such a terrible staffs like this, they didn’t even checking on us plus while we are eating, they are talking so LOUD! I didn’t even hear the music. First time here was disappointed! Never come back again!
Was dining this evening and the food was good and really taste like Isan food but the service was terrible, they never came to check on us if we’re okay even we wanna put some order to go we have to raise our hand, was so disappointed
The food is average but service is unexpectedly poor. We ordered papaya salad as appetizer and two sticky rices as deserts. We got none of them until we finish all our plates. The durian sticky rice was super sweet. Very disappointed!
Went to try for the first time with my friends, and we really enjoyed everything! We’d encourage to expand! Cause the wait from walking in to have the food served was quite a minute. But the staffs are very welcoming, visually the food platting also really nice. Som tum thai salad was my favorite personally. I expected the pad thai to be less sweet~ but I enjoyed it regardless.
Stopped by last night. Food was good. The tiger beef for $17 was very underwhelming. Doesn't come with rice, not too much flavor, slightly tough. Grilled squid, papaya salad platter was yummy! Slightly disappointed papaya salad platter didn't come with sticky rice. Otherwise the platter itself was good, ordered Lao style. We also had, chicken wings, pad se ew and pad Thai.
Service was my biggest disappointment. I'm not even sure who my server was. We had a female server, but a male server helped when we needed something. No one gave their names, so I'm not sure who they are. We had a bigger table for 12. Half arrived first, second half arrived 10 minutes later. She didn't come get drink orders until the second half arrived. We were just sitting there for 15 minutes before she finally came to get drink orders. On the end we had a baby, 11 month. We clearly sectioned off the table, placed everything where he couldn't reach, but she kept placing drinks and plates right in front of him. It was very frustrating, as other severs who came with our food, kept everything out of reach of the baby. She never came back to see how everything was going. Didn't come back to refill drinks. We needed an extra plate, napkins, and lime for one of our dish, she didn't come back, we had to flag down the male server for those things.
I won't be returning again. Service is a big deal for me because we have to tip. Also, because we are a big group tip was auto added, it was 20% not your standard 18%. Didn't not like that too much.
very bad thai restaurant ever had, i wonder how Michelin recommend this. ok food, staff if arrogant, bad service. don't go there
1st visit six months ago was good. Second visit this week was awful. Grilled pork had no flavor, virtually tasteless. Not consistent. Very disappointed.
We went here for dinner tonight. Great little find away from the touristy parts of Orlando worth venturing to! The chicken pad thai came out hot and fresh. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavor was on point. I requested extra chicken and it was very evident that extra was received. This is a restaurant worth the wait and drive. Highly recommend!
They served us with unclean bowls and unclean spoons. I tipped by cash already. My card transaction has $4 extra hidden from receipt. The food is great but bad service with hidden fees is what I don’t like.
Very tasty
thanks for that fantastic and delicius food…
Visiting Florida, my family and I came for lunch.
We ordered a tray and few other entrees to share. While waiting, I heard a mortar pestle loud and clear being used in the back. If no Thai or Laos restaurant is using that in their kitchen to make papaya salad, they are doing it wrong! But that gave me high hopes for our food. Once our food arrived, it did not disappoint! We left no scraps and cleaned the plates!
The item that took the spotlight for us was the Crispy Rice Ball Salad. It is differently prepared than how I would normally have it, but became the best than how I've had it prepared before!
Growing up in a Laos family. The main food items would be sticky rice paired with a protein, like beef or chicken, along with spicy papaya salad. Serving plates were VERY traditional. Eating the food made me feel like a kid again 🙏🏽
Other than the food being delicious. Service was quick and staff members were friendly. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We will definitely be coming back! Grandma approves 👍🏽
Friendly prompt service and truly special Thai food. Delighted to find this place. We did dine-in and two days later return for online order pickup. However, the regular fried rice is bland… These folks are the Real Thing. Great ambiance for dine in as well and plenty parking.
Great food. Highly recommended for Thai lovers. 👍
We came in today around 8:30pm craving for spicy Boat Noodle. The service was quick to sit us and take order. We had Fish Cake, Spring Rolls and Boat Noodle extra spicy. I was excited looking forward to my meal, but upon receiving my noodles, I was quite surprised. The presentation was underwhelming, with the noodles appearing somewhat disheveled. This left me feeling disappointed, especially considering the restaurant's Michelin recognition for both 2023 and 2024. Such accolades set high expectations, and I believe customers deserve a consistently excellent experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into account and continues to strive for excellence in their offerings.
Came to this restaurant two nights in a row. On vacation from Australia and needed good, healthy Asian food. So tasty.
Waitress so nice. She was happy to see us again on the second night and was so personable.
Highly recommend the moo ping, pad thai, pad see ew, nam nok (beef salad). Yum!!!
this place serve Thai food which is incredible, I'm personally favorite Thai food perfect Pad se ew and curry is amazing,
compare with Indian(the less tasty) Japan(second), Thai curry definitely the best and No.1 curry of the world, and this place even make it better.
would recommand everyone comes to try this place if u see it

Fantastic experience! Great quality and excellent customer service. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it!
Best Thai food I've ever had! Higly recommend it to anybody wanting to try Thai cuisine. However, I'm giving it 4 stars since our server would just disappear for 20-30 mins sometimes before we even ordered anything. I understand if they were busy for long waits but they were not super busy when I was eating there. They were still friendly and helpful though when they were serving us.
Love eating here. We are trying to go to all the Michelin rated locations in Orlando and will definitely be a repeat customer here. This is one you must stop into when you are in town. This was our second time and loved it again!
Today we have the Gyoza Appetizer and the Chicken Fried Rice. 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve been wanting to try food from Thailand’s Isan region after hearing how flavorful it is- and then I found Isan Zaap! What a different, intensely flavorful experience from typical Thai restaurants! The friendly waiter recommended the som tum (green papaya salad) w/ crab and fermented fish sauce, and the crispy rice ball salad, and marinated beef salad w/ mint. The crispy rice ball salad is the most flavorful Thai dish I’ve ever had!- exploding with flavors of lemongrass, mint, peanut, lime, etc. If you usually opt for Pad Thai, I encourage you to extend beyond your Thai comfort zone and try something new here. Can’t wait to return!
Excellent food and staff! Best meal I’ve had in Orlando !
Very good, would go again.
I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture but the spicy basil was amazing. I would say 5 stars but I would have liked a little more sauce to enjoy with my rice but really, the flavor was perfect.
Side note: Thai spicy is no joke here. Edit, medium is pretty warm too, but allows for increasing spice with the fish sauce and Thai chilies.
This place is a Gem! Small little Thai place on Federal Hwy! Love their decor, screams Thailand!! If you're asking for Authentic Thai food, this place is as Authentic as you're gonna get!!
They're always busy so either book ahead or get there early or be prepared to wait atleast 45mins to 1 hour! Service is awesome just try to order at the same time otherwise you'll have to wait a while because the orders are made as they come in.
Highly recommend the green papaya salad, marinated pork skewers, sticky rice. The larb (Thai spicy minced meat salad). The boat noodle is always my favorite!!
Also try the dessert, the coconut ice cream with the bread (reminds me of childhood).
We always stop by everytime we're in the area!!
Excellent quality authentic Thai food . We asked for medium spicy and it was just perfect .
Thy BEST thai food in town!!!! I'm from CA and this is the best thai restaurant that comes close to CA standard. Staff is beyond excellent and friendly. Highly recommend the Pad thai, papaya salad, and my favorite chicken fried rice.
Yo he comido comida Thai en Thailand!
You need to try papaya salad here. It was awesome.
Kob Koon Krup!
Everything so zaap!
Food was very delicious
I recently dined at Isan Zaap and had an amazing experience! The grilled pork neck was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Tom Zaap tendon was a revelation, with its rich, spicy broth and melt-in-your-mouth tendons that made for an incredibly satisfying dish. To top it all off, I indulged in the mango sticky rice, which was the perfect blend of sweet and creamy, with the ripe mango complementing the sticky rice beautifully. The authentic flavors and excellent service make Isan Zaap a must-visit for anyone craving traditional Thai cuisine. Highly recommend!
The Panang is the best in Orlando!
吃过最难吃的 thai,中国人不骗中国人
热的榴莲糯米,巨腥气的 boat noodle,粉色的椰子水,只有糖味的的 thai milk tea
I ordered boat noodle soup and coconut juice and I have to say this is the best Thai restaurant in Orlando!
Great authentic thai, nice ambiance!
Wow
wow, what a great meal! i am from LA and i thought i knew good thai food but this place is really authentic and its clear they put in a lot of efforts in their flavors. salmon salad was amazing, beef jerky was great crispy and lean, papaya salad off the charts. thai tea not watered down or over-iced. friendly staff, cant ask for much more!
Top 3 thai places in Orlando I’ve had so far. Probably the best in this part of town.
We got the Pad-See-Ew, Red curry, and Panang curry. My personal favorite was the Pad-See-Ew, then followed by the Red curry. Portions of the curry is very big, you can probably order another side of rice and still have enough curry. Pad-See-Ew has lots of meat, and the noodles are perfect. Each dish is around $15 give or take. Service was great.
If you are unsure of which spice level to get, you can always go a lesser spice level and ask for a spice tray. Also, free soda if you leave a Google review!
I recently dined at ISAN Zaap for Thai food, and it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the vibrant and inviting ambience. The decor is stunning, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal.
The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who madesure all our needs were met promptly. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food. Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The Pad Thai and Green Curry were particularly outstanding.
However, I did have to deduct half a star because the vegetarian selection was somewhat limited. A few more vegetarian options would have made the meal perfect.
Overall, this place is a fantastic place to enjoy high-quality Thai cuisine in a wonderful setting. I'll definitely be returning!
The basil is definitely worth to try, and the sticky Mango rice
Best Lao/Thai Eesan food I've ever had. I travel a lot across the US to over 40 plus states from East coast to the West coast including Hawaii & Alaska and tried many thai restaurants but this one is surely a hidden gem in the Orlando area. Two thumbs 👍up and 5 stars rating for sure.
Small portions for the Pad Kee Mao( had better) and Crab Fried Rice(delicious) ($21).The $17 Grill Squid was more an appertizer size and it was so chewy( disappointingly overcooked). The Custard Sticky Rice was way too sweet on both the custard and rice. Our server was nice and attentive.
Very tasty soups and appetizers and great service!
Really good service and tasty food!!
Always good - visit
Very good Thai food and Thai tea is good as well
I was so excited to try this place but everything has fish sauce in it. Unfortunately we left without trying anything. I was surprised since their chef is a Michelin star chef.
This was a really good experience. I visited with family. The food was excellent, ambience was a good vibe and our server seated us immediately. I would definitely return.
The Panang curry was perfectly seasoned with a delicious flavor. The basil in the drunken noodles was aromatic, making the dish very quite tasty.
Very friendly staff, spacious and clean.
Yummy foods.
Incredible flavor!!
Stopped here when i took a 2 day trip to eat at as many Bib Gourmand restaurants in Orlando as I could. I had the Larb and Nam Tok. Both were super unique dishes. The Nam Tom in particular had some real heat to it but it was well balanced. My server was excellent and the place was packed. It was a bit away from the tourist strip but worth the Uber.
@210booze
Great service! Accommodated my party of 10! Would highly recommend
This is by far the best Thai food in town. The flavors, the vibe, and the service were all GREAT.
The normal Thai spot was closed for the afternoon hours so I tried this place out. When walking up I noticed that they even had a Michelin recommendation posted on the door. Don’t let that scare you the prices are very reasonable. The food was the best Thai I’ve had. I will definitely be back. They are also available on Uber eats for people wanting to be homebodies.
First time in. Wife and I had two orders of spring rolls, one order of coconut shrimp, and one order of stir fried mixed vegetables with chicken. Each order of spring rolls has six fingerling size rolls with a small cup of Mae Ploy chili sauce — darn good. The coconut shrimp was also a six pack, with each shrimp stretched out and easily devoured. Sauce on the stir fried vegetables isn’t readily apparent, but the flavor is terrific. We’re looking forward to our next visit to try new dishes.
Isan Zaap Thai Café was founded by 3 friends who are from the Isan region of NE Thailand. Their restaurant is a celebration of regional food.
The Michelin Guide awarded Isan Zaap Thai Café Bib Gourmand status for “good quality, good value cooking” for 2023 & 2024.
The restaurant has a modern, clean design & I loved the textured wall resembling waves. The wait staff were very friendly & offered suggestions on menu items & spice level. The food came out w/in a reasonable time frame.
I ordered Thai Tea, Isan Sausage, Tom Kha (shrimp), Penang Curry (beef), and Mango Sticky Rice.
The Thai tea is creamy & nicely brewed. It is not overly sweet & will assist w/ the heat one is about to experience food-wise.
I loved the crispy sides of the flash-fried Isan sausage. It was nicely seasoned and came with chilis, slaw, sliced ginger, lettuce, and peanuts for wraps.
The Tom Kha was memorable. The broth was so fragrant and had depth of flavor. It contained nice-sized shrimp and I love chefs who are not shy about ginger. The soup is served in a large stainless steel bowl meant for sharing & contained tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and chilis.
The Beef Penang Curry has a soupier consistency but was packed w/ flavor & heat (I requested a medium spice level). It was another memorable item & contained green beans and green & red peppers.
The Mango Sticky Rice was the only “good” food item I ate. The mango was sweet & the sticky rice tasty with toasty notes from the sesame seeds. I appreciated the sauce not being overly sweet.
Zaap is the Thai word for tasty & this is some of the best Thai food I have experienced.
Everything around me looked good, including the grilled meats, pot stickers, jerky, and Pad Thai. Portion sizes are good – I left wishing I hadn’t checked out of my hotel room so that I could take a nap.
Good
Great food

Unbelievably delicious Thai food .Voted best by local Thais in FL!
I didn't like the food that much
Was super excited trying this restaurant that was highly recommended, but it turn out not what I expected. The pork was good but the coconut juice was definitely bad, the business was pretty slow but our server never really show up. Overall I don’t recommend it.
I can’t believe this restaurant is on Michelin list, first of all, pork neck was good, but clearly you can tell the food wasn’t not fresh, the service was very disengaged!! Waiter and the waitress asked tables next to us multiple times, but only came to us once, literally once. we waited for way too long that all the tables next to us left, we had to asked for the check, and he just looked at us, smirked and then came over with the check. First time and last time, highly recommended to ppl who wants to experience this.
bad service, never come again
Me and my family love it. We’ve been going here for months and have made friends with a worker. and the mango sticky rice don’t even get me started with that. 🙌
THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE and very dry
Curry chicken is very small portion. Barely enough for one person. Chicken was also tough.
Very delicious food, and nice smile service! I love the food here.
Amazingly authentic!! Best som tum we have had in the U.S. can’t wait to come back!!
