The fish was simply amazing—I ate it down to the bone. The price is based on the market rate per pound, and it came out to $50—not an everyday meal, but I will definitely be coming back here again. Honestly, maybe my hopes were too high. I expected better for all the good reviews. Pas See Ew was a bit below average. No much flavor, noodles were too thin and overcooked. Asked for max spice, they confirmed "Thai spicy". Only mildly spicy. Overall pretty disappointed.

If you're a casual enjoyer of Thai food, it's fine. And it's close to the hotels here. But if you've ever had good Thai food, don't expect much.

They also don't provide free water which is a pet peeve. Basically no non-sugary drink options.

I come to this restaurant with my family every now and then to eat their delicious thai food. I love their large and unique variety of sushi, definitely one of my favorite places to go if I’m ever craving it. Every time I come the food always tastes the same, their consistency makes it such a nice restaurant apart from the food and atmosphere.

Crab Rangoon is weird, volcano is okay, but the stuff on top of it not good at all. Ice cream is okay. But I wouldn’t order again!

This place is great. We had a get-together of a few close friends, and they accommodated the 8 of us with no problem. The service was great, attentive through the whole meal, consistent drink refills before we were empty, and checking on our needs. The sushi appetizer was artistically displayed and was a real crowd pleaser. The main course was delicious Kang PA beef for myself, just spicy enough with plenty of flavor without being just "hot". Can't wait to bring my wife for dinner for 2.

The ambiance is airy and just exotic enough to make you feel you are in a special place.

Next time - and there will be a next time! - I will dive into the sushi list, as I do enjoy good sushi. I was a bit under the weather with pain that evening, and my lovely peanut sauce over chicken and veggies was soothing and sating, just what I needed.

Mixture of Japanese Thai and Chinese food

Love this place. I've been coming here for 11 years. So much so that they know my lunch order when I walk in 😊. I recommend their Red Chicken Curry, spicy tuna crunch roll, and the Shrimp Woon Sen.

Very clean, with kind staff, delicious sushi, and regular menu food.

While the food is very good, the service is always poor. People who attend the customer does not take the order properly and blame it on the customer and are rude when you pick them up. When we picked up our recent order, they made the mistake of noting down the wrong number of orders and didn’t listen to us and banged the kitchen door, when trying to explain. Always poor service. This is happening at this place for the third time.

Perfect date night or girls' night out spot. The sushi was delicious. The portion size is perfect and the atmosphere was very cozy.

One of the best restaurants in the area. A must visit. And best sushi!

Quality has dropped considerably in the last year. Sushi rolls are huge, to the point where they are too big to eat in one bite. The green curry was too sweet and nothing special. Thai salad with duck had duck that was so dry is was more like jerky. The unagi sashimi was excellent.

We ordered Noodles but got Noodles with hair as a deal 🙃

I have been a customer of Bangkok Sushi since they opened 8 years ago.
My family and I frequented the restaurant sometimes twice a week!
We were such loyal customers for so many years my family and the owners new each other by first names. I LOVED the food there and have brought many family members and friends there and I have ALWAYS raved about it being my absolutely favorite Thai/Sushi restaurant. I always have gone there for my birthday too! I would be so happy and would tell my family members that I was so happy to see them busy and doing so well. I would say I don't know what I would do if they were no longer in business. Several restaurants in the same strip center have opened and closed through the years but Bangkok Sushi has stayed strong! Well as we are told ALL GOOD THINKS MUST COME TO AN END!
I actually feel as though I have broken up with a relationship, I suppose it could be similar since I have been a loyal customer for 8 years now.
Here is how it ended. My sister and I went for dinner this evening 5/17/17. It was busy. We waited for a while for our server to take our rorder. I ordered sushi and my sister ordered a Thai entree.
My sister's meal arrived almost immediately. I waited and waited and waited and waited for the Sushi to arrive. My sister was about finished with her dinner and my sushi still had not arrived. At that point I went to the owner John and told him that this is our second visit where my sister was done with her entree before I ever received my sushi. I then said I don't even want it now that she is done. He said, "Sorry, so you don't want it?" I said, "No we came to eat dinner together and not watch each other eat our meals separately." Our server comes and asked, "You don't want your sushi?" I said. " I do not, if you want to bring it anyway I will not be paying for it since my sister has finished her meal and I am ready to leave." The server said, "My Bad", saying that she put the entree order in too soon.
So when my sister went to pay her bill we stated the situation again to Angie the other owner and she said, "Well you should understand we're busy and sushi takes a long time." I said, "Well then the entree order shouldn't have been put in so soon so we could have received them closer together so we didn't have to watch the other one eat." She says, "I can't do that." Then she said, "We're busy and just because we're busy doesn't mean we give away free food." I did not want free food, I wanted the owners to be more apologetic for the mishap of their server and appreciate the 8 years of patronage my family, friends and I have given them. There were many a times we weren't completely satisfied with our meals, but we didn't say a word. Sad how after that many years TRUE COLORS show. I will be sure to let ALL my family and friends know not to patronize this restaurant. How sad.

The sushi and egg rolls are good. The Pad Thai had a weird smell and was very bland.

This place is amazing. It's one of my personal favorite places to eat. The service is great, and the food is amazing. Aside from the sushi, the duck dishes are my favorites.

A little dated and worn seating, but the yellow curry is one of the best I've ever had. Very themed and nice staff. Not pricey either! I always bring home extra of the yellow curry even if it's just the sauce. Could just eat it alone with a spoon.

Sushi, sashimi and tuna tataki were really really good.

Been to this establishment several times and everytime the food is average at best and the service is nothing to be desired. I won’t be back.

I really liked this place and was eating here for years. However, in the last few years, it has become very run down and downright filthy. On my last visit I was seated at a both that the vinyl seat was split horizontally the whole width of the booth. Fix it! Or at the very least tape the rip. The ledges alongside some of the windows look as if they haven’t been cleaned ever. The bathrooms are a disgrace and on every visit I find I have to fight the fruit flies off my food. I’m afraid to even look in the kitchen if the front of the house is so dirty. We’ve mentioned these concerns to management more than once, but nothing is ever cleaned. I cannot eat here anymore due to the filthy conditions. It’s sad because the food is pretty good. But the atmosphere is most unappetizing.

NOT WAST YOUR MONEY AND ALL YOUR TIME. the pluses are the entourage. that's all. then only the minuses: tom yam with shrimp is chicken broth with chupiones, don't expect to eat real tom yam! shrimp rolls, which have no shrimp but some fish and crab sticks. cheap crab sticks and a lot of cream cheese will be on almost all rolls.

Externally disappointing. Volcano shrimp dish was flavorless, vegetables were near raw, and shrimp were well over cooked. Staff ensured we were rushed through our meal and no offer for more than one drink.

We took a six month break from coming here and d coded to try it again. Duck Panang - incredibly overcooked in the microwave. Sauce flavor was good - only reason I gave 2 stars to the food. Bad food can be ignored as a fluke if the server actually gave a flying “duck”. But the waitress came when we were practically done eating - we only ate it because it was late and we had a very long day at work - and when I mention it was tough and overcooked, her reply “maybe next time”. Well, there won’t be a next time.

I love sushi and Bangkok Sushi delivered. Very big rolls and the spicy tuna was the best I've ever had.

The portion sizes are really nice and tastes even better. The waitresses always are dressed up and authentic dress and they have a big variety of food to choose from.

Really fresh sushi and great service. We were a party of 4 enjoying a mid-week couples date night, so we got to try quite a bit. Sushi, I would go back for but the panang was a bit too mild for my liking; the duck was quite tasty but could of been crispier for "crispy duck." Skip the sampler platter and just get the curry puffs before moving on to the sushi. Never once felt rushed through our courses, so we were able to chat with our dinner companions and still enjoy every dish. Highly recommend for business meal or date night.

This is about as nice a sushi and Thai restaurant as you could ask for. The restaurant is beautiful, the servers are dressed beautifully, the music is calming, the sushi is served fresh and in generous portions, and the Thai dishes are excellent. The location is not easy to see from SR 54, but it adds to the charm once you find it. All this adds up to five stars across the board and why we visit regularly.

Went in and it was really dead. Then by the time we left every seat was full. The food was really good. I got the chicken pad thai and my friend got tofu. The portions were huge.

im not sure if it was a one time thing- since ive only been there once, but it was enough to leave me feeling a certain way about my experience. the restaurant atmosphere is nice and the server was nice. the food portions where great for their prices. however the food was BLAND. and have read over reviews that say similar things about the lack of flavor in the meals. i had ordered some noddles, sushi roles, and took home another order or sushis and a chicken meal. i have no clue how but everything was BLAND. lacked flavor, salt, seasoning. even the takeout. the sushi even tasted bland, like no flavor and im not sure how that can even be accomplished with sushi? again, im not sure if it was just that one time, or if this restaurant is light handed with salt and seasonings. but to pay $80+ for food that wasnt even tasteful was disappointing. maybe ill try again to see if my next experience is different.

Absolutely amazing Pad Thai! This is my wife and I's favorite Thai spot and local spot to order food from. Their Tom Ka soup is also very good and all of the sushi is top notch! Definitely check it out!!

3.9 Stars We went hoping for really yummy but it was ok. The broccoli dish was very salty so I didn't eat the sauce and tried to wipe it off on the rice. My husband had the duck and it was ok but not hot enough. The fried tofu was cooked nicely. The outside was crisp and the inside was moist. It came with a sweet and sour sauce that was too sweet for me. Would have been paid better with a peanut sauce. The place was busy and nice. Staff was pleasant and quick.

Beautiful restaurant and the hostess and servers wore lovely cultural attire. We started with the Crab Rangoon. The curry flavor inside and sauce made these quite delicious. We each had a sushi roll: tuna garlic and Arizona. You taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. The tuna garlic was new to both of us. I highly recommend it. For dinner, we split a Shrimp Pad Thai and Red Curry Chicken. You could drink the curry sauce, it's so good. Pad Thai was great as well. Looking forward to the leftovers. I'll need to find reason to head out that way again, too.

When I moved to the area I really wanted to find a really good Thai restaurant. I must say that this place is simply amazing! The food is fantastic and the service always has been top notch & efficient. It does get busy on weekend nights so be prepared to wait a few min for a table if you go at peak times, But the wait will be well worth it. Highly recommended!

Have been here dozens of times but, this time was a bit off. Fancy Duck was way over fried (causing it to be super dry and chewy). Tower appetizer was super oily (yes it’s all fried but, when done correctly, it’s not pure grease on the plate). It was just an off night I’m sure.

I love this place! This is my all-time favorite sushi spot. Their Pad Thai and curry is also amazing!! I always get the Tom Kai soup as well. They are open on Christmas and New Year’s! Service and atmosphere is okay but not the food. Don’t be deceived by the overrated 4.5 stars as the food is bland and not upto the price.

Would be 5 stars but they changed something recently and the fish sauce is overpowering in their curry. Also the restaurant now has a strong fish sauce order. Not sure if they changed brands or chefs, but I miss the old flavor and don't like the heavy odor.

One of our local favorites especially for sushi and curry. We take out from here a couple times a month and we also eat in occasionally. We enjoy all the food and big menu here and service is pretty quick!

The food was excellent but it the most expensive Nigiri sushi I've ever bought, $25 is crazy for 6 pieces.
The interior is a little dated but it's a nice quiet atmosphere if that's what you're looking for. The bathroom was very dirty.

I’ve been here many times and I’m never disappointed with the food. It is a little bit pricey but everything always tastes amazing.

My son got food poisoning from the sushi last night and last time I was charged for a to go that was never placed in my bag. When I called the store they could care less.

We used to love this place-9/27 ordered take out sexy man & mexican roll, crab salad & chicken pad thai. The sushi was “ok” (a lot less of it but dbl the price!) The seafood salad was slimy and had a sour smell and the pad thai literally smelled like a combination of dead animals & dirty feet!!
All we could eat were the 10 lousy pieces of sushi and since there were 5 us we ended up having to get fast food! The pad thai stunk so bad I immediately had to bag it up and put in the garbage! Waste of $58! I will never go there again!! Sadly all of those items used to be delicious and there was always a lot of it. I will say the pad thai was a big portion …if you can get pad the horrific smell —we couldn’t!

This place is always amazing. We have been here 3 times, and it never disappoints. The vibe is nice. Service is wonderful. The portions of the food are huge and the price is right. The sushi is phenomenal, and so is everything else. Definitely recommend it. It's worth going out of your way to come here.

Can't speak for the Sushi, as I didn't have any. However, the Massaman Curry was quite good, as was my wife's Panang.

Bangkok Sushi was excellent! My wife and me went to grab a quick lunch and saw the great reviews when visiting Tampa. The food was great, the rolls were a nice size and the value was awesome. The quality of food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

The food was not good and when I informed the waitress I did not like the egg rolls (and left them uneaten with only 2 bites out of one and told her I would still pay, I just didn’t like it) she rolled her eyes, yanked the plate away and ignored me the rest of the time. I had to ask the sushi chef for a refill on my drink, a box and the check. She just glared at me. We will not be going back.

Bangkok Sushi is IMHO one of the top 3 sushi spots in all Tampa. Majority of most other sushi joints give you tiny rolls and extremely small portions. All the rolls here, especially their specialty rolls are huge! Their Volcano Roll and Mexican are the best. This spot is hands down worth every single penny if you ask me. Besides sushi they also have a pretty big menu with other options. Everything here is of quality and made fresh. We have been coming here since 2019 and have never been disappointed once. They've raised their prices but their big portions and quality make up for it. Service is also stellar even on busy nights when it's packed.

May not be THE best sushi spot of all but certainly top 3 in all Tampa. Very hard to find a good sushi spots that gives you value for your buck and leaves you feeling satisfied and full!
