The food is definitely worth a try.
I personally had the pad Thai. I've tried it both in chicken and steak. I have not been disappointed either time. I see some people complain that it is not sweet enough. But that is not my personal opinion.
I automatically always detect a point for a star. For having paper straws, I know it's stupid, but I can not stand the taste of it. Nor do I believe that that is the most sanitary rule way to have a drink. This is also coming from the guy who only uses bottled water to cook and to drink. I also at home a full filtration system on my home. If you order water from here, I can tell that it is not purified. In any case, it is simply tap water on ice. In my opinion It is the most disgusting thing to drink. Coming from home and eating out. I can literally taste the chlorine inside of the water. It is not a restaurant's fault. Although they could invest in a reverse osmosis system and it would probably pay for itself over time.
The atmosphere is decent, and it's great for people.Washing has got giant windows that face outside towards the main roads. It does have what it looks like to be like a small version of a full service bar. The place has not been crowded. The two times that i've gone in there during lunch time between eleven and two.
I absolutely love this restaurant. Most recently I placed a pick up order and it was perfect. I ordered chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce and Curry potato puffs with their cucumber/veggies vinegar sauce. All of the employees are extremely kind and hardworking. The food is delicious. I'm looking forward to dining in soon.
Paragon Thai is a cozy little Thai restaurant nestled in a bustling strip mall near Cleveland park, Washington DC. The food was great and staffs were very nice and attentive to details. Crispy fried food was just right, for example, we ordered curry puffs and crab rangoons. You can see from the plates that , the pieces were golden brown and have no excess oil which depicted good quality deep fried food. I can vouch for the crispiness and the taste 😬 .. the spicy salad was great as well .. I have tried other stir fries and mango sticky rice which were also awesome. if you are in the area or thinking of a quick and tasty takeout, give them a try. Highly recommended!!!
Paragon is the right adjective for this place. The food is sooo good! I literally order the pad Thai multiple nights a week. And I recently tried the crab wontons and they were mind blowing. 10/10

I really enjoy their flavors. They have a lot of dishes that can be made vegan.
Asked for Thai spicy but was mild at best. Typically love Drunken Noodles but these definitely didn’t satisfy
I purchased take out. The food amazing, portion size very happy with too.
I regularly order take out from here. The food tastes great and is well balanced. The staff is super nice.
Good food! I enjoyed the Lad Na.
Fantastic service and food. Very friendly
Service was completely awesome , food was tasty . A Wonderful little quaint restaurant . I will be back .
Ordered a pad see ew from grubhub and it was disgusting. The noodles were mush and the food was not edible
Excellent vegan and gluten free options - just ask what on the menu works because it's not marked. They have gluten free sauces they can replace in most dishes.
Not good at all. The food was way too salty, and the tom yom was super small size and the tomatoes were not even cooked.
This is my go to take out spot! I’ve tried so many around here and they usually have 1-2 dishes/items that are good, whereas most things from Paragon are solid. I especially like their crab wontons (note they are NOT rangoons, so don’t expect that), Tom kha, and pineapple fried rice. They also make stellar cocktails, especially for ginger lovers 🫚 Alcohol used to be available on Uber eats, but unfortunately isn’t anymore, but if you order direct and want drinks they deliver them, plus all your money is going directly to the restaurant. Everyone I’ve met who works here is friendly as well.
The food is definitely worth a try.

I order from here all the time and the food is always good and the staff are friendly.
Delicious food, great service and decent price. Would definitely go again.
Just the nicest owners I've ever met! They are so accommodating and sweet. We had a service dog with us on the patio and they brought him a bowl of water and checked in on us many times during our meal. The food is homemade and very flavorful, especially their award winning curry. We didn't feel rushed at all and were able to enjoy our meal and conversation. Would highly recommend!
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
THEY ARE DISRESPECTFUL AND THEY ARE GETTING DELIVERY DRIVERS FIRED BECAUSE THEY ARE MARKING ORDERS READY WAY BEFORE THEY ARW READY. MAKING IT LOOK LIKE THE DELAY IS THE DRIVERS FAULT. I MENTIONED IT AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT THE RUDE PERSON TOLD ME “I DONT CARE YOU GET FIRED BYE” WOW GREAT WAY TO TREAT SOMEONE THATS DELIVERING YOUR NASTY FOOD. YOU WILL CARE WHEN DRIVERS ARE INFRONT OF YOUR BUSINESS PROTESTING. LEARN HOW TO RESPECT PEOPLE
Try the panang curry.
Absolutely delicious! We had bang bang shrimp, panang curry, and pineapple chicken as well as Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups and everything was amazing. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Highly recommend.
Ya… the chef of this place needs to be fired because the food is absolutely flavorless. wasted around $18 per dish to get literal slop on a plate. Do not waste your money here if you want thai food.
I ordered 3 dishes and each of them were horrible!!!! The noodles were overcooked, along with the vegetables. I didn't eat but one fork full. I was disgusted and felt disrespected. I've never had worse food and I paid $88 for this food. I had the food delivered to me and I had a good mind to take it back myself but I didn't have the time.
Not good. I threw most of it away immediately.
Reliable, friendly, and the food is consistently exceptional.
Great vegetarian options and deserts.
I order a soup (Tom Kah with shrimp) of DoorDash. It came with no tomatoes although it said so and showed so on the picture. The mushrooms were disgusting (sorry to say it like this). Again not like on the picture and very mushy. All in all the soup was not creamy or coconuty as it should be and very sour as well. Very disappointing for the fact that I payed quite a lot of money including the Service Fee!! Feels like a rip off
Personale molto cordiale, servizio eccellente
It is a splendid casual Thai restaurant. The service is cordial. I ordered Panang curry was tasty and the portion was more than enough to me. (I don’t eat a lot. I’m short lol)
The restroom was decent cleaned. The toilet has on top a Lysol spray disinfect and paper to place in the sit.
Food is absolutely delicious and they are very kind.
Worst pad thai I have ever had, cloyingly sweet and gummy. Spring rolls seemed pre-made with little filling, mostly dough. Waitress was nice, but the place was empty at 7 pm on a Friday night.
I went for lunch and they charged me the dinner price for lunch. Not to mention that the food was sloppy put together for presentation as if they were serving a dog. There were people laying in the restaurant that are not customers or workers. I've been going to this restaurant for almost 10 years and the quality of the food and service has been tremendously declined. Sorry to say I won't be returning.
The food is great, and delivery service is spectacular. But please start giving utensils and napkins, people are not always delivering to their home.
Don’t like the experience. Food is average. Place is old.
FYI - I am typing up this review while eating the food from Paragon that I ordered for dinner tonight. First, hats off to @UberEats delivery driver Maria who delivered the food on time. Second, I needed to type this review right atm because I didn't want to forget. I ordered the marinated pork with sticky rice, massaman curry and a Thai iced tea. The massaman was what I expected and hoped it would be. In many other places I've ate from, the Massaman tasted very different. But I didn't want to write this review because of the Massaman... if you haven't tried it yet, you need to stuff Paragon's marinated meat into your mouth followed by a ball of sticky rice. The perfect blend of salty and sweet that glazes over the fatty pork is seriously mind blowing.
I am spoiled for choice with the Thai restaurants surrounding me, including Paragon Thai. I basically always order a curry and/or noodle dish and it's always delicious here! Very attentive staff too
There was dirt in the beer. Not clean at all. And the tip was fixed 20%. I will never come here again…
They forced 18% tips after we got a very bad service, and we three people spent 135 for the bad taste dinner, which is insane, for this price, why don’t we go to dc for a better restaurant.
And also, forced tip is not a thing allowed, but we don’t want to argue anymore, and we won’t come again and recommend to any of our friends.
The staff left a very bad impression just for $20, I gotta say they don’t know the business at all
Good food. My go to Thai place.
Not good
This place smells awful
Located in the Cleveland Park area of DC, right on Connecticut Ave. Biggest draw for us is that it has validated parking. Parking in this area is crazy hard to find. Food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good, but ah that parking. Take out is fine, too. We pretty much always come here at least once when visiting our son.
Three-Flavour Tilapia 5/5
Tofu Lover 4/5 (great flavor but would be nice if they added some veggies, it's just fried chunks of tofu with the sauce)
Taro Pearls in Coconut Cream 5/5
We stopped here to eat after a visit to the zoo. It is in the shopping center right next to the exit for the Cleveland Park Metro station. Very quick and delicious food. I had the shrimp ka pow (they can adjust the sauce to be mild or medium spice level). And I also tried the chicken pad see ew. Both were tasty.
Waited one hour to get our take out. ( they didn’t even put our take out order in until we arrived at the restaurant). Not to mention the food is not as good as used to be. Seafood dish smelled awful, we had to toss it. We will avoid this restaurant from now on.
Me and my 13 year old daughter went to this restaurant. We both wanted to try this place. I worked in Chinese Restaurants. I know Thai Food and the Cuisine. When I walked in the smell of dirty carpet hit me. I wanted to order the Lunch menu but was told that I could not order the Lunch menu because it was Presidents day. I ordered the vegetable soup. Tasted Like hot water no taste. Had Red Curry with beef. Beef was tough and rice was not cooked. Calamari was good. Tasty. My daughter had Pad Thai. Was Okay but rice not cooked. Meat was tough. We both were not happy about Lunch there. The price was to steep for the Taste. Disappointed!
Outstanding food! I took takeout and everything was delicious. Wait time can be a while when they are busy though
I don't know how one screws up fried rice, or pad see ew, but this place managed to destroy both. Everything was inedibly sweet, like they doused both dishes in sugar. The pad see ew was literally in a puddle of sugar sauce. Totally inedible. The Tom Ka Gai was also deeply disappointing, but at least didn't risk instant diabetes.
Very hit or miss. Great when it’s great, but super mediocre/not worth it when it’s not.
Best Thai food ever

Great food and the server was amazing. My only suggestion would be to clean up the restaurant. There is too much clutter and disorganization.
Ordered for delivery and was quick. The pad Thai with chicken slaps. Great spot to hit after having some dc gas. Definitely try if you’re in the dc area.
5 stars for the food, 3 stars for the service. The food here is amazing, I almost always get the spicy fried rice which is fantastic, and I recently tried the panang curry which was also very good. The service however is not great. It seems as though they only have one waitress so she may just be overworked but she's not usually been very pleasant, and while the food comes out very quickly, it's hard to get her attention if you ever want to order anything else, she also has never or rarely refilled our cups of water after she first pours it. But if you're ordering takeout, I'd definitely recommend this place!
Paragon Thai is my favorite! They're so fast and nice. Whether it's pickup for dine-in, I always enjoy my food and have a great experience. Highly recommend!
We got the red chicken curry and the soft shell crab pad Thai. The food was tasty, but pricey and in a low quantity. I’ve had Thai food of similar quality for a much lower price, and they give more food.
Good vegetable and tofu pad thai! enough for two meals too. The sauce is more sweet and sour with crushed peanuts but I loved it. Good for your standard thai craving!
I had to wait for over 30 minutes to pick a pick up order and still didn’t even receive ieve it after all that wait.
Solid Pad Thai to go.
Restaurant clearly overwhelmed so took 2 hours before food was ready. They should stop taking orders if they can’t be fulfilled.
Very friendly staff, and very good food, my family and I have been going here for years and will continue going.
Really great food and Thai ice tea is perfect (not overly sweet) but less than impressed with consistency- ordered drunken noodles for the second time, tonight. Tofu and veggie both times- asked for a LITTLE less spice, this time, since last time I was coughing from the spice level, but got NONE whatsoever in tonight's order. Not one chili flake, very dissapointed. They literally wrote NO SPICE on the container. Also, tonight's order has tomatoes in it, which was not included, last time.
Google's 4.3 star rating was misleading. The food was ordinary at best and the bill came out to about $40 per person (including tip) for an appetizer and a main course for each of us. A bit pricey to say the least! Maybe the takeout is good, but the in-house dining was a disappointment. Service was not friendly, zero ambiance, and the table was sticky. We chose the restaurant because of the rating, but we will not go back.
I tried this place after walking back from the national zoo. It's conveniently located near the metro tunnel. The panang chicken was decent and had a good amount of heat (still looking for a Thai restaurant to hurt me). The only thing I'll say is, as a out of town DC visitor, it would be nice if they included forks/spoons or even chopsticks.
Delicious!
Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!
Great thai food to take out, not nice to dine in.
Very Tasty food , love it!
The food was fresh, hot and came quickly. The staff was courteous.
My go to Thai place in the city! Crispy spring rolls, delicious pad thai and I always have more than enough for two meals! Consistently good food and reasonable prices - and delivery! Highly recommend trying if you're in Cleveland Park!
I live in LA, where Thai food can be really good or really bad. But the Thai food I just ate from paragon was delicious. Spring rolls were crunchy and delicious, and came with delicious dipping sauce. And the pad Thai with the thin noodles is so preferable to big rice noodles. I don’t know about the other reviews, but I’m coming back here whenever I’m in DC.
Last Friday I decided to order at this restaurant through DoorDash and I have to say the overall quality of the food was a D at best. I had Gang Ped Yang and the duck meat was tough like old leather, it was barely edible. The food was lukewarm and there was not enough rice. The Pad Thai was not much better. The quantity was good, but the food tasted off and there were almost no sprouts on the meal. Judging from the reviews here, maybe the cooks were having an off day, but I still feel like I got very little quality for my money.
Paragon is the best Thai food in DC. I always get the Ka Pow and Lemongrass Chicken.
Noodles were mushy. the calamari was soggy and tasted weird
A great dinner. The food was terrific. Araya was great to work with. We look forward to ordering again. And, eating at the restaurant soon.
Amazing food! The spring rolls are the best.
If you are looking for a safe takeout experience and delicious comfort Thai food, this is the place for you. I get Paragon all the time because it’s consistently good. Their curries are all fantastic. Their pad Thai and drunken noodles are great as well!
One of the best Thai restaurant’s in the District. Excellent food and service.
Soft shell crabs with the garlic sauce is phenomenal! Price worth the food and serve. Most definitely come back again. It didn't take long for them to prepare either.
These guys are seriously the BEST! I have been coming here for years and getting delivery also and they are so prompt and so sweet and they make the BEST food! Definitely go here, I always feel so happy that I did!!
Thisnplace is great. Good food and reasonable prices.
I love this place their Asian food place is one of the best around
Love this place. Always our go-to Thai take out place in DC. Highly recommend!
Great food!
Best Thai food in Cleveland park, they validate parking
Great dishes
Pretty good! Food was exceptionally sweet...
Good Thai comfort food
Extraordinarily attentive waiter.
The soup was good, but the Crispy Duck should be called Soggy Duck
This restaurant has good food, but their delivery on the weekend is terrible. They’ll leave the drivers just standing around without telling them that their orders will be prepared 30 minutes late. If you order delivery, I advise you to do so at least one hour early.
Great food. Spicy Lo Mein was 🔥🙌🤙
Delicious. Try the mango or lemongrass chicken you won't be disappointed. But tbh everything is good.
Good food
Never disappoints. Consistently delicious and always a fast delivery time
Good food, friendly service, family owned small business and they have gluten-free options.
Had high expectations but they fell short. The food was bland, portions were way big and the overall experience was average. Daughter found a bug in her glass and I watched one of the servers pick their nose after pouring water for the table.
To SLOW
Had the Pad Mee and it was delicious! Will come again!
Good food and attentive staff
I really enjoyed this restaurant! They have plenty of veggie options, and the menu is very clear about spiciness. You can also adjust the level of spice on any dish, which was nice. The service was fast and consistent (they never let our water get to the bottom without refilling it). The restaurant itself was clean and pretty simple-looking. I got the spicy eggplant with mild spice and tofu. I tend to think I like spicy food (I eat medium salsa and like spicy Mexican food), but the mild was a perfect level of spicy for me. The eggplant dish was tasty. I really liked the tofu. The eggplant tasted good, but the peel had a weird texture I wasn’t fond of (more of a me problem than an issue with the restaurant though). The other person I was with got the drunken noodles. I had some, and they were really good. I’d definitely recommend this if you’re near Cleveland Park! It’s a little pricey, but I imagine it’s the same as all the restaurants around it.
I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but the Thai fare from here was so good that I feel compelled to, especially because I had a horrible experience somewhere else last week. I ordered the Tom Kha and Pad See Ew from this restaurant via Postmates. The Tom Kha was flavourful, well-priced, and completely worth it given the very generous portion of seafood (fresh scallops, shrimp, squid) that came with it. My partner ordered the Pad See Ew and it was delicious as well.
Would order from this place again in a heartbeat— it reminds me of Thai food back in Singapore.
I especially liked the green curry. Very tasty and delicious (and no cilantro!😋). Quiet enough to be able to talk.
The ambience is unpretentious. The food is excellent and sumptuous. The service is polite and knowledgeable. They validate parking for one hour in the attached parking lot. The prices are reasonable.
Delicious food and friendly service.
Table service could've been better
Delicious food and great service. My daughter had the softshell crab Pad Thai and I had a noodle dish that chef was able to customize. I would definitely recommend this lovely family owned restaurant.
Got delivery. Horrible tofu Pad Thai. Smelt really bad and tasted like stale oil. Had to throw it out. Wish I could get a refund.
So solid
I haven't been here for a year now, however, the food is just as good as I remembered! The service is great, and fast. The food is absolutely delicious. I had the pad see eew with shrimp, and I definitely recommend this noodle dish. I will come back in the near future! :)
Love this place. Our go to Thai spot.
Very good food! Could be a bit better in comparison to other Thai restaurants I've had, but the food was great and the service was too.
Not worth the wait.
Bad experience with them, very dishonest owner and I will never give them my business.
I love the Cleveland Park area of DC and had high hopes for this place. I was extremely disappointed. My Pad Thai looked like spaghetti drowned in sauce, and the hunks of vegetables were entirely too large. The Thai iced tea was yummy, though.
I had the Thai Fried Rice with fried tofu and thoroughly enjoyed it. Once winter rolls through I’ll be more inclined to try some of their spicier dishes. We will definitely be back.
Lovely healthy meals. You have to try the fried rice and shrimps.
Very cooperative, I ordered vegetable pad thai, didn't realize had egg in it, took it back to them and they made new one immediately, though it wasn't their fault.
Nice Thai food near National Zoo
We always eat Thai food and we have been here years ago, and it was okay. We went back today to try, and the food was absolutely horrid Every entré was drowned in its sauce, and so so sweet. The service was not good either, because when we complained, they’d idnt even care. terrible experience.
Eating in or out, this place is delicious and appropriately priced. Every time I go here with my friends they are impressed. highly recommended if you are in the mood.
Great food
My mom and I ordered this online and the delivery experience was easy and pleasant. I got the fried tofu with curry, lime, coconut milk sauce which i would highly recommend. We also got drunken noodles, garden rolls, and thai iced tea and it was all excellent! I would definitely order again and hope to make a dine in trip soon.
Paragon delivers for free on orders over $18 (at least this is the case on GrubHub). The food here is delicious, with the caution that is typically a bit too oily. Overall, it’s reasonably priced for what you get, and I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for Thai food in the Cleveland Park area.
Always delicious and worth the price!
We really enjoyed their lunch specials. We added a papaya salad option and it was a generous size and delicious.
Prompt service, excellent food, Beautiful decor. I'm definitely coming back.
The chicken panang curry was the best I've had since Bangkok! Kapun kap!
I haven't eaten here in person, but it's my go-to for Thai take out. I can place an order over the phone on my way to the metro at Farragut North, and it's ready by the time I surface in Cleveland Park.
Fast service and good Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Prices are not too bad and I can usually stretch one order to make 2 meals.
Once I came to pick up my food a little early and it wasn't ready yet. The staff was friendly and helpful, gave me a seat at a table and asked if I wanted any water. Everything you could want when you need a quick fix for your thai craving.
Great food, decent cost for the area. If I lived closer to this place I'd have a real problem...
Best Thai food for delivery
Paragon Thai Restaurant is a hop, skip, and jump from a metro station, and thank goodness because this place serves some delicious Thai cuisine for attractive prices.
For my lunch visit, I indulged in the Red Curry with Tofu (firm). The composition of the curry was awesome, with all the essential ingredients that make this dish authentic: thai eggplants, bell peppers, coconut mil, bamboo shoots, and (of course) curry. The spice and savory blended nicely, and it was real treat.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was fairly casual, but very clean and open; there is space to bring a large group of people, and the decor and lighting promotes a casual, yet respectable, date night.
For lunch, the price was spot on, especially for the quality of food: $9.95. I have seen better, and I have seen worse, but $10 in this area is a sort of sweet spot.
The service was adequate, but I didn't interact with the staff much.
Overall, I would definitely stop back and look forward to trying other foods on the menu.
Food is excellent. Love this place
Fast and attentive service, great food and great prices. Recommend the seafood drunken noodles!
Nice services, comprehensive menu, good food quality too. The only pity is there food still contains a trace of america, so i would say, 90% authentic?
Paragon Thai has my favorite pad thai in DC. It has the perfect texture, an ample amount of tofu, and good veggies. The portion is big enough for at least two meals and is only $10.
