I call this journey Asian food because it is always fresh and so delicious. The restaurant is clean and appealing and the staff is superb - very accommodating, friendly and kind. You will not be disappointed. It’s the best restaurant in this area for this cuisine!
“I visited this restaurant recently and was very disappointed with the service. An elderly woman staff member served us, and her attitude was unacceptably rude. What shocked me even more was that she spoke to my daughter in front of me and pointed at me while doing so, which I found very disrespectful. While I understand that everyone has their bad days, such behavior is unprofessional and made our dining experience very uncomfortable. I hope the management can address this issue and ensure better service for future customers.
Had a wonderful meal at this great find! The restaurant we planned to visit was closed (it was a Monday) and we chose this one off the cuff. So glad we did! Pork dumplings were the best ever. Pad See You and Panang Curry were both fabulous. The taro tea was the best we've ever had.
I was craving Thai good and I found this restaurant in Pike Creek. I had the Pad Thai and my wife had the red curry. We got the spicy versions and it was "spicy" and delicious. The dining room was spotless and I would dine in also. The woman who took my order was very nice. We will definitely return.
Food was fine. Service was not great. If your water cup is empty don’t expect more unless you ask.
We have been to this place many times, and never disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere are consistently good. All dishes are good, but the drunken noodles (pad kee moe) and Thai style fried rice are very good.
Love this place, even offered me chopsticks for my to-go order
Food was great as usual.
Thai food. Hot and fresh. Service is ok. Portions could be bigger for the price. Very tasty.
I looove coming here every so often and getting their pad thai. They also always send coupons over text which is great :)

This place is a little hidden but well worth seeking out. Great food, wonderful staff.
We had a delicious dinner!
Bad

This is a very nice place to get something tasty.
5 stars for me!
We love it here ! The quality is amazing and the atmosphere is warm
disrespectful
Good food
Holy crap it takes FOREVER and it is very expensive for the amount of food. I called and was told 20-30 minutes. Showed up and it took OVER an hour. Unfortunately this is not the first time. Really sucks when you have kids waiting at home. Honestly, I do not recommend. The food does not make up for the ridiculous wait time
The food is good but their quantity have decreased and prices have increased. I placed an order for Pinang curry Chicken dinner size. Earlier, the to go container used to be full but now it's just filled a bit more than half.
By far my favorite place for Thai food.
favorite place around! food is always spectacular
Always love my food from soybean. Tastes so fresh and is ready quick with a smile!
SO good!!
The Pad See You with chicken is SO GOOD. Affordable, delicious, and quick.
We placed a take-out order via the chow now app. on Thursday for pick up at 4:45. The first thing I noticed was that the prices on the app were the same as on the web site, no mark up! I missed the spot to enter the coupon code so my bad. The food was ready when requested. The staff was very nice and the place was very clean. As we were getting ready to leave the owner came running out with our fried rice which they forgot to give us. Good catch. That never happens. We ordered Rocket Shrimps and Tom Yum Gai soup for appetizers and we ordered chicken pad tai and beef and broccoli wok dish for entrees. All the food was excellent, very hot and flavorful. I think we have found our new go to for Asian food!
The food is always amazing. I’ve never had a bad meal. The meat is tender, rice is cooked perfect and the taste is 10/10. Highly recommend !
Expensive and not great. Maybe we just had a bad experience, but it was overpriced and a very small quantity. The garlic sauce and teriyaki were so watery, it was essentially a Tupperware filled with liquid. We also got broccoli for the one dish, without chicken, and were charged $17 for broccoli alone.
The Pad See You is just delicious!
Best Thai food in the US. Kee Mao fried rice is the best, and beware if you don’t like a little spice!
Great food service.

Great place
Soybean was so kind to cater our film set and the food was a huge hit. Highly recommend their pad see ew and pasta dishes!!
My experience is always amazing at soybean and it is so calming here.
Ordered Pad Kee Mao (+ extra chicken, broccoli) and wonton soup. The food was delicious.
My first time here and I was thoroughly impressed
Very good food. The food came within 5 minutes of ordering, food taste was very good.
Soybean never disappoints. The food is excellent. When I asked for Thai Hot, I get Thai Hot
Great food. Followed my diet restrictions of no eggs. Will order from again.
This is my go-to for Pad Thai.
Soybean is a charming small shopping center restaurant with high quality fresh produce and well prepared dishes. I just had a drunken noodles with shrimp and it was divine. My wife and I have always counted this among our favorite spots for lunch or takeout. My wife has a newly discovered gluten allergy and Soybean has no issues accommodating her.
Our family has been eating at Soybean Asian Grille for seven years and has always had great service and food. It is always clean too. Nice atmosphere and the staff are always nice. We are lucky that they have vegan options. It is our favorite Thai restaurant in Delaware.
Love love the food .
Beautiful Thai place and out of the world service!
Food is a hit or miss. The take out quality is poor with high pricing for small portions that seems to get worse over time. Eat in and you get a better experience but not by enough to matter.
I love this place!
Staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is well lit and you can’t forget about their delicious food.
This is the only Thai restaurant in the state I enjoy coming to.
Will return!
Food is excellent. Service is excellent.
My first time eating here. Started off with spring rolls, dumplings, calamari. I had Pad Thai with chicken for my entree. Our friends had a variety of entrees.
Excellent food!!! and service!!! I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant!!!
Our server was so nice and attentive. She gave us great suggestions.
We will definitely eat here again.
One of the best restaurants. I absolutely love their Thai food. The staff are very welcoming and provides great suggestions.
Best Thia food around.
Great food and service!
Hands down the best duck and drunken noodles ever. Also if you like spicy try the Thai spicy which is very hot but even more flavorful.
Great team and choices
The staff is always friendly and all of the dishes we have tried are delicious.
Love this place! My sinuses and my soul are on fire 💗
Great food and great service. Love the kee mao fried rice!!!
Love this place, always fresh, always delicious
Good food, good service.
Best Thai food in Delaware
I’ve been a couple of times to this restaurant and I always leave happy!
Good service, friendly workers and AMAZING food!! I recommend this place!. I have asked friends to visit this place with me
And they end up loving it!
Great food and atmosphere. Love the green curry and pad Thai!
I recently visited Soy Bean Asian Grille and had a fantastic experience. The ambience was great, the service was excellent, and the food was hygienic.Definitely recommend trying the See You Kee Mao and Fish Fillet! Great spot for a satisfying Asian meal.
I've been ordering from here for years, and I still have yet to find a better Pad Kee Mao within 100 miles. The spouse loves and Massaman Curry and Seafood Mango. If you need an appetizer, duck salad is our favorite.
Nice surprise in Pike Creek. Will be back!
Best green curry chicken
Papaya salad and yellow curry were excellent! (Ask for extra pineapple in curry!)
Good place to eat
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. Philly is lamentably short of good Thai places, so it was awesome to find this gem in a strip mall outside Wilmington. I will definitely travel back out here to eat again.
Such a great place! I highly recommend the coconut soup and pad Thai!
Ordered from this place because it has a 4.5 star rating.. when the food arrived the shrimp was probably the best thing... The duck sauce with it was water.. also ordered the teriyaki meal with shrimp and scallops... $20 bucks.... It's soup.... The best thing about that dish was the fact that the shrimp was actually clean but with tail.... Scallops were were bubble gum.... The plain white rice was the best and most accurate thing... I'm so glad everyone else had a better experience... Will not be going back.... But thank you..
Best Thai, Malaysian food in our area!
Been here plenty of times and have always enjoyed the food. Tonight, it took over an hour and a half of waiting at the restaurant to get our pick up order. They were severely understaffed, even said that they hadn’t received our order, could barely get anyone to give us an update. They finally “found” our order ticket an hour and half later and started to make the food. Very disappointed in the service tonight. Hope they can get this fixed or we won’t be ordering from here again any time soon.
Great service and delicious food! We had dinner on a Friday night, and the restaurant was moderately busy, with food coming out quick and hot. We were very happy with our service, we will definitely be coming back to dine in more often, and ordering takeout, as well!
Best Thai Restaurant in Delaware. Always fresh ingredients, They are an extremely friendly staff.
Pad See You is sooooo good. The spice level is perfect and the broad noodles are just perfection. The only problem that I have is that all the chicken in the various dishes taste the same. There is no variety in the flavors. But other than that, I would totally recommend many of the delicious dishes here!!
ordered food at 6:20 online and was told to be there at 7. 40 minutes to make goyza and two orders of fried rice should be enough time. got there at 7 and no one even acknowledged I was standing waiting. after about 35 minutes of waiting watching other people getting their food i finally had my food dropped off at a table. once we got back half our food was cold. 45$ for a horrible experience and lackluster food.
Loved all phud kew Maui Shrimps
This place has seriously gone downhill. It used to be decent, now it's bad. I had the broccoli beef. The food was soaked in cold, thick, and dark brown sauce. It tasted bland. The beef was chewy. It was cut the wrong way, i.e. parallel to the grain. That shows the chef either doesn't know how or just doesn't care. The rice was god awful. It was so dry that I had to chew hard to swallow. For an Asian restaurant especially a Thai, that's a sin. Worst part is that I told the waitress, an older woman, about the issue, she just shrugged and quickly stepped away. During the whole meal, she did not once come to our table to refill our teapot or ask us about the food. She just didn't care. Sorry, I am not paying $16 for a bad Chinese food experience. A takeout Chinese shop would have tasted better.
This has become my local go-to for consistently good Thai takeout. Pad Kee Mao (with beef and broad rice noodles) is my personal favorite.
The larb is perfect!!!
So fresh and consistently delicious. We are a once a week takeout family. Very thankful to have this option over the not so great chinese restaurants in the area!
I visit there at lunch time. I ordered three main meals and two appitizer and tea and soda. When I get the bill, price was dinner. Therefore I asked why I have to paid dinner price. Owner excused she served dinner portion. Answer was not reasonable, but I do not want to argue with her. I paid. I want to owner does not cheat custemer these way.
The ambience is serene with cultural decoration and live orchids. The staff is courteous and efficient, and they are neatly dressed and very presentable. My personal favorite dish is General Tso, and I’ve never had a disappointing meal there. Be sure to try the bubble tea.
More service
Very clean, friendly, fast and the food was good.
I ordered a Mango Bubble Tea and it was watered down. Very disappointed!
This place is a must try! It was incredibly clean, had cute decor, and was very relaxing. The lady who served us was very kind and attentive and service overall was quick. The food was excellent - the pacific fried rice was cooked perfectly and the tofu was delicious. They had tons of vegetarian options. You get your moneys worth on the cocktails, that’s for sure. Generally speaking, things were reasonably priced for the amount of food. I will definitely be returning!
Outstanding
Really good food, with excellent sauces. Highly recommended.
Ordered a pretty simple takeout order. Supposed to be ready in 40 minutes, which is long but understandable. Wasn't ready for another 40 minutes, which is completely unacceptable. If you can't handle the orders, don't take them.
The pad Thai is absolutely terrible. Overcooked spongy beef that tasted like wild game and the whole thing had a fish smell. First time ordering from here and for sure, the last. Horrible
honestly the general tsos chicken was NOT worth $16 in my opinion. the chicken was white meat, not dry and they did provide a ton of sauce. but every single bite felt like someone literally was standing over my spoon pouring pepper on it lmfao I've never had that issue with general tsos before, maybe because they mainly do Thai and curry. not sure but definitely glad I tried it, but won't be back for more unfortunately.
Pad Thai was bland. My dinner was served to me eight minutes before my husband's came out. He ordered the duck and it was overcooked to the point of being jerky. Service was poor due to understaffing. The woman waiting on our table was really working very hard so I wasn't upset with her but it took forever to get our food and the were take out orders were so backed delivery drivers and customers waiting for their takeout were crowding the entrance and served as a distraction for the whole meal as the where they place the takeout orders was right near where we were sitting and there was constantly drivers walking up to it check to see if it was theirs.
My family believes that Soybean Asian Grille’s Thai and Thai-American meals are the best and most authentic in Delaware. We were blown away by our first visit. There is so much to choose from we had a difficult time picking a meal. Our solution was to have everyone choose a different meal so we could try as much possible. Great decision on our part. If you’re looking to branch out from your regular fare, take a visit to Soybean. You’ll go back for more.
Absolutely the best Thai restaurant. Customer service was very good.👍🏻
I really enjoy this restaurant, the staff is kind and knowledgeable and the ambiance is warm and inviting.
It's a nice mixture of people always walking thru the doors, ranging from families to couples on a date.
The menu is traditional and if you have any questions, always ask your server!
I like to experiment with entree choices but the Mango fish or Pad see you is never a bad option. For appetizers, we always get Roti canai and Curry puffs, so delicious.
Nice beer options and spirits as well.
Ordered food online at 6:00pm, was told it would be ready at 7:20pm. I showed up at 7:25pm, and there are about 20 people in line at the door waiting on orders. Didn’t get my food until ONE HOUR later, after trying to get any of the employees to give an accurate ETA. I don’t think they even started the food until arrived, honestly, which begs the question of why they would even bother having online orders.
It’s not like they were busy with in-house customers because only a couple tables were seated. They clearly don’t have the kitchen staff to put out orders on time, and as this is the 5th time this scenario has happened, it seems they have no interest in improving.
The food is great, but not nearly worth the wait.
My favorite Thai place hands down. Be sure to try to the drunken noodles. For dessert try the coconut custard.
Slow service
Great food. Fresh, quality ingredients and hot! Just be sure you like spicy if you ask for/check off spicy! Wooooo! Sinuses cleared, but it's delicious!
Great place! Sometimes they offer level 4-6 spicy for takeout, but I guess it depends on who answers the phone. 🙂
Excellent food, great variety, many vegan options. We usually take out. Highly recommended.
Great Thai food! The people are super friendly and the service is awesome! Favorite Thai restaurant in the area!!
Pad Kee Mao Rice and Noodles both are soooooo dammmmm gooooood.. amazing we come from NJ to eat here.
One of the best Thai restaurants in the Wilmington area. In downtown you have Bangkok House and out in Pike Creek/Hockessin you have Soybean. Excellent curries and noddle dishes. Try the Roti Canai appetizer.
This has become my favorite Thai place in Delaware! It’s quite a distance farther from me than some of the others but it’s well worth the drive. Their red curry is so good that I haven’t had a chance to try much more of the menu. I did try the Pad Thai which was excellent. Very friendly staff and overall a great experience each time. Highly recommend.
Requested no fish sauce but pad thai had significant fish sauce. There was so much sugar, the noodles stuck together and literally no vegetables.
Food was good. Kitchen was a bit slow.
Place is great. Period. The calamari is the best in northern Delaware. I’ve tried everywhere. I love super spicy and their “thai hot” is no joke but so good. My personal favorite is the pad cashew nut. Tom yum Koong soup. Duck salad is great too!
Authentic!!
I don't even want to give this place 1 star. The Pad Thai was horrible, it was dry, stuck together and tasted like ketchup. Not only that it made me feel so sick I didn't even finish it, even if it didn't make me sick the taste alone was enough to throw the whole meal in the trash and I did. Will not order from this place again, it was a waste of money
I had pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and an order of gyoza. Very tasty food and friendly service
Excellent service, great people working who take great care of all their patrons. Also they are curious hosts who offer warm hospitality. Highly recommended.
I'm always pleased with their food and service. Today I went there to treat a friend to a birthday lunch.
The curry Singapore noodles and the drunken noodles are my FAV!!! They fry their tofu perfectly ❤
Great food and service. Definitely our favorite Thai food spot!
Been going here for over 10 years. Food is always delicious and consistent. Highly recommend.
I'm a regular here so yes I am bias but their food is good. Their curry dishes are good and fried rice dishes are lovely. The store is very welcoming and nice atmosphere. Some of their Thai dishes do seem "Americanized" but they have some good dishes. Also they have all the Thai spice you can handle.
We had great coconut chicken, pad Thai, & general tso.... yummy mango sticky rice. All freshly made and GREAT fresh tasting food!
I was really expecting great things in regards to their massaman curry given their overall rating but it was just underwhelming. The brown rice was even worse.
Disappointed.
Curry dishes are excellent!
Food is consistent and great, the green curry and red curry are my favorites. When you ask for thai spicy they actually make it thai spicy which is fantastic!
Keep coming back! Excellent traditional Thai food with extremely high quality ingredients.
Service equals the food quality. You will not be disappointed!
90 minutes since delivery order was placed on a Monday night at 6 pm. Called restaurant and was told “kitchen very busy, not know where order is”! We live 5 minutes from restaurant. Is the food worth the wait, no! Would you sit and wait an hour and a half for service, no! Will we eat at Soybean again, no! Will update if food ever arrives.
Update: Order was finally delivered. Just 5 minutes short of 2 hours! I wonder how long it had been since it was cooked.
Reply to Soybean response. COVID has been with us for almost a year. The restaurants that will survive are those who will be successful with take and delivery. How many waiters stood around in your empty dining room while one driver took two hours to deliver a single meal? Who will replace you when you are gone!
Love this place! Their Pad Kee Mao is amazing.
Food was delicious, but expensive. 3 orders of chicken curry w/ fried rice and an appetizer ran us almost $70. A bit steep when you’re talking strip-mall take-out.
Always great! Takeout for our 10yr anniversary tonight hit the spot!
The service here is so friendly. The Basil Leaf Pad Thai is excellent and spicy. The first time I ordered my dish with the spice level of "two chili peppers" thinking it was the middle of the road option. It's not, it was so spicy! "One chili pepper" is my go to. It's great that you can customize, but know they are serious about the spice!
Great service and tasty food. Tried the masaman cury. Yum
Great food hot and on time for pick up!
Very delicious Thai food.
From start to finish this place was amazing. Tucked between a defunct Kmart and a picture frame studio the interior design and warmth definitely give this strip mall restaurant a much classier feel.
The food was fantastic and came out piping hot. The fried rice had just the right amount of heat/spice and the miso soup was full of flavor and the perfect starter.
Above all though was the service. Between Aun and Slav I was never left wanting. My glass was never empty, my entree came out promptly once I finished my appetizer and at the end of the meal Aun even went so far as to package (and, ever so kindly) label my leftovers for me.
If you like Thai food and live in/around hockessin do yourself a favor and come here.
Fun fact: they're called soybean since the cook all the food in soy oil.
