My family and I visited Thai Bowl for dinner while we were in the area. We’ve often heard rave reviews, and since we love Thai food, we were happy to finally satisfy our curiosity. Looking over the menu, I was surprised to see that it was smaller than a lot of other Thai restaurants we’ve been to, and they were missing a couple apps/entrees that I would have expected them to have. Nothing was necessarily bad, but we felt that it was average compared to our usual Thai spots. The chicken in our dishes was dry, and the portions were on the smaller side. Attentive staff and the food did all come out quickly. The dining room was clean and nicely decorated. I really wanted to like it more here, but we don’t see ourselves coming back.

I tried the Panang Curry recently which was a first for me in general and it had incredible flavor!

Otherwise, my go-to is the spicy basil fried rice which if you get “less spicy” then anyone can tolerate but I highly recommend getting “more spicy” if you can handle it.

This is my new favorite Thai place in CT! Their food is fantastic and their prices are very reasonable. They have the best Thai curry I've tried, and everything on the menu we've had has been super fresh and high quality. The dining area is small but the back seating area is cozy if you can get a spot there (it's usually very busy at dinnertime regardless of the day of the week). We will continue to return regularly!

First I want to start off by saying that the food here is phenomenal and delicious. I came here last Friday with my fiance and the pad thai was to die for and so were the spring rolls into crab rangoons. That being said when I first arrived to the restaurant I very much felt very snubbed. I almost felt as if I was inconveniencing the waitress and especially when asking for a refill for my water. The first half of my visit was not very welcoming. Halfway through my visit though I did notice a shift in attitude after I mentioned to my fiance how I was going to make this review and post pictures of the food online. After then the treatment was a lot better. Regardless I believe I would still come back here because the food was phenomenal. I would give them a second try especially since the manager treated us better than the server.

Pad Thai had way too much fish sauce in it and the pho tasted like it was made with unfiltered city tap water - the broth tasted more like chlorine than any other flavor. Inedible for me. Not going to get food here again.

The portions are extremely small. Ridiculously small. I was especially shocked at the size of the spring roll compared what they show in the menu.

Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Ordered delivery from them-Red curry, green curry, shrimps in blanket and crab rangoons. The curries were spectacular. The apps were lovely. Will be going back for sure! Delivery price is steep so I’ll be going back in person. Highly recomend! P.S. the spicy IS spicy! Go mild for your first time.

This is the first time I’ve actually wanted to write a restaurant review and let me just say 10000/10 !!! The pho was phenomenal dude I literally loved and ate everything. I am an extreme pho lover and wow this pho was literally everything. Get you a little chili sauce and lime in the broth ? I have had a very nice experience ordering from Thai Bowl! The service was quick and the site to order and view their menu was easy to use and order from! I chose the delivery option to receive my food and they were at my house in less than an hour! They food came piping hot! You can just tell it was super fresh and not something to be grossed out by. The food was clean as well. The way the fried rice didn't feel to oily or overpowered with rice, was just my cup of tea! The portion was a bit small but enough to keep myself full! This place is extremely family friendly. From the outside it seems cozy and homey, somewhere you can feel welcomed and appreciated for being a customer. Thank you Thai Bowl for being you.

I like this place. It's nice inside, the service is good, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. I got my drunken noodles 5 star spicy and my eyes were watering and my nose was running, but that's what I asked for.

The Best Restaurant in the area!!

The pho is very tasty and at a good price! It was an enjoyable experience with the food aspect that even my daughter enjoyed, who can be a bit picky. The only downfall was that there was no ambiance to help block out the patrons sitting nearby that were loudly swearing for the duration of our time at the restaurant.

Chicken pho was delicious

This is a super casual sit-down place. Note, IT IS BYOB. The chicken pad thai is a solid choice; I've had pad thai all over the US and in Thailand. This one was one of the better ones. The fresh spring rolls were great! The chicken wings were a bit too crispy on the outside, but they were tender and juicy inside. They are a battered wing of some type. I'll definitely be back when in the mood for Thai food.

Went for lunch today. We had the Radna Noodles and the Seafood Delight. Both dishes were outstanding. Very quick service and friendly, attentive staff.

One of my go-to spots for Pho in CT. I have been coming here since they opened and just been there recently… and the broth has always been excellent, but I think they perfected it even more. The staff and owners are also very nice and it’s very warm/welcoming inside. They also let you byob and there is a conveniently located package store 10 seconds away.

I ordered Golden Crispy Chicken with Basil. This basically was a 3-day old thin sliced chicken cutlet that had probably been dipped back in the fryer to bring it back to life. It didn't work. Well over done, no scallions, and one soggy basil leaf. I most likely won't eat here again.

The reason this restaurant is so top notch is all of their food is prepared to any variety you'd enjoy most for example their volcano shrimp(my personal favorite) can be cooked any flavor they list on the menu and the consistency is superb definitely a must stop by

Absolutely delicious! I really enjoy a drunken noodle, and theirs has just the right amount of spice to it. Right in the goldilocks zone. The dumpling soup was excellent too, with a very tasty broth. Treat yourself and try the Crab Rangoon. The sauce that comes with it is worth it alone. A lovely and unique sweet yet slightly citrusy combination that compliments the creamy and fried flavors perfectly.

Omg I don't know where to even start I live in waterbury about 15-20 minutes away from this place but its worth the drive the food is always so good and so fresh I love the pho I love the fresh spring rolls with the peanut sauce oh gosh everything we ever order is always just so delicious I would have given a 5 star but the last time we went which was about 2 weeks ago but the food was delicious and staff was very friendly downside is the lady that served us it took her about 15 minutes to come back to our table to take our order for drinks we were about to leave but decided to stay since we always do take out so we wanted to dine in for the first time but she took forever and crazy thing is after we put in our orders/appetizers we got them pretty fast so I love this place just need to improve the staff timing and inside is this cute little tables and all its very nice if your coming to waterbury CT and want something different to try PLIS PLACE IS THE PLACE TO GO

One of my favorites in town! My favorites are the beef pho, drunken noodles and the chicken pad thai- which leaves me struggling to decide which I want every time I come. This is also the only place I’ve been able to get Pho to go successfully where it still tastes amazing at home.

As soon as food prepared by Thai Bowl enters my home, I know my stomach will not be empty by the end of the meal. The sticky, rectangle noodles in the Pad Thai compliments the crispy roasted peanuts and the bright taste of scallions scattered throughout. The peanut sauce in the house salad brings a new, nutty element to the clean, fresh, mildly spiced lettuce. The crab rangoon is stuffed with filling, coating every crevice inside of it's golden crispy shell. The bright orange, sweet ice tea cuts through the warmth of the food, providing a refreshed palette for the rest of your meal. While I eat my meal in the warm light of my living room, I can only watch and grin as my dad slurps down their soup. He makes sure to leave some in the fridge for the next day, savoring his sips meticulously, not wanting to waste the carefully crafted veggies swimming in a light yet flavorful broth. So thank you, Thai bowl, for the smiles and warm meals you given my family. To you, we may just be another order. But to us, you will never be just another Thai restaurant. :)

Red curry with duck is something that dreams are made of!

Recent update: I received my food and I had asked for mild spicy , and when I got it home it was so spicy I couldn’t even eat it. I called them, and it was pulling teeth to get it re-made. I was told they won’t give me a refund and when I told them I just wanted it made correctly they said to bring in the old one and they would make it again and then they would never exchange out any food again in the future…as if I was the one who made it wrong. being in the food industry myself, ya figure you’d want your customers to be satisfied. If my customers weren’t satisfied with the meal they could send it back and get something else or a refund. My sister ordered broccoli on her meal and didn’t get it and was charged $2 extra for something she never received and i also tried the yellow curry, it was decent however, the portions have definitely gotten way smaller, I measured the white rice I got with it and it was less than a 1/4 cup, white rice is probably the cheapest thing and they get it in bulk smh. It’s pitiful given the price..expect lunch portions but pay dinner prices, other than having any issues with food the staff are really friendly and nice. . (Original review):been coming here the the last 2 since I moved to Watertown…Flavor of food is decent although not always consistent, but what makes me upset is the portion size when you take out. I ordered a dinner sized Thai fried rice and my 4 year old ate the whole thing and was still starving !! So I went back and got another and there was literally 3-4 spoonfuls of rice in there and the rest was veggies. I was told to order extra rice , which they charge me for. I ordered for the Thai fried rice , not just a container full of sautéed veggies. Then the soup. They gave me a Ben and Jerry’s pint sized container that was only a little over half full of broth. For $8. Then I spent $16 on pad Thai with duck, and there was only THREE edible pieces of duck. The rest was bone and grizzle. So if you’re ordering take out for 2 people be prepared to spend a minimum of $45 for a portion that’s not even big enough to satisfy the appetite of a picky 4yr old child.

Food’s good. Comparable to Chiang Mai in Naugatuck however the portions are WAY too small for what they charge. As much as we like the food, we likely will avoid the place because of the portion size.

I tried everybody's dish on the table and all of it was good. Glad I gave Thai food another chance. All 5 of the appetizers we got were delicious, and my duck was amazing. Very friendly staff.

I Have been a patron of thai bowl for about 6 years or so. I worked locally so it was one of my go to. I brought my family and introduced them, they loved it too! So much so they would order togo and drive from Prospect. WELL, AS TIME WENT ON THE PLATES SEEMED TO BECOME INCREASINGLY SMALLER. My 7 year old son absolutely LOVES ordering chicken noodle soup, the Quart we used to get for chicken broth was sized down and never filled to the top. It was just over half. The chicken and noodles were also reduced. As a business owner myself, I understand food prices have gone up. Totally understandable, but they increased their prices and decreased the amount of food drastically. I still visit at least once a week because it is one of 4 items on my sons eat list. We LOVE THIS PLACE BUT FEELING CHEATED. AS A LOYAL CUSTOMER I am fed up.....this is just wrong.

We've eaten here probably a dozen times, and it's always been a good experience. My daughter is vegan and they have some excellent options, including vegetable broth for soups. Open for eat in now, service is excellent.

In the midst of COVID-19. This restaurant has been a little beacon of hope for those of us wanting something a little different but still familiar. I often order: Pad Thai, Spicy Pad Thai, Crispy Pad Thai, Noodle Soup, Green Curry, Drunken Noodle, Radna Noodle, Coco Sticky Rice, Tom Kha Soup, Som Tum, and I've had the Chili Duck. Everything is excellent! When I ask for spicy versions, she asks me how hot I want it, on a scale of 1 to 5, and I say 3...and it's just at the edge of 'too much' for me, which means it's perfect! The food always tastes good -- they've never gotten my order wrong -- and they're done very quickly, always ready by the time I pick up my order. This little place is a Watertown gem, and I hope they keep cooking for a long time to come.
