We went for dinner and had a fantastic meal - the food was great and the staff was super friendly. Since we’re having to go to Manchester, Glastonbury or West Hartford often to eat out it’s always nice when you find places close to home.

This place is a gem! Great cocktails: Mai Tai and Long Island Ice Tea made to perfection. The sushi was amazing. The Thai menu is limited but it was savory and full of flavor. We found this place exploring the area around. We are not locals but will return to this restaurant at any chance. And the atmosphere? Great music in the background that invites you to explore pop Asian artists.

Never order on their app, Mealkeyway. I got my food after 2.5 hours. I’ve never experienced service like this before. I ordered through the app and got a text at 8:47 saying my Dasher (????) would deliver my order at 8:19… I had to call twice to make sure my food was on the way… just order for pickup or go in person. Food is fine, but I’m never ordering from here again.

Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and checks in regularly on your table. Sometimes empty and I’m not sure why- anyone who enjoys sushi or Thai cuisine should try Oyama at least once!

This is our favorite restaurant in Storrs area and beyond. Sushi is great and the lunch deal is amazing. Service is usually very good and in particular we appreciate the included hot green tea. They also have other good options, Japanese, Chinese and Thai. Recently they added delivery option but it’s very nice to dine in. And Katrina is a great waitress!!!

After a long day of work, this is my favorite spot to pick up a couple of classic rolls. Excellent quality, actually reads the notes for an allergies or preferences, and always ready for pickup before I arrive [early].Spicy tuna and salmon avocado are incredible. Looking forward to trying their other Asian fusion dishes as the area lacks thereof other options.
Didn’t love their hibachi noodles, overcooked and underwhelming, but sushi so good I’ve ordered 3 days in a row now

Very Worthy place to Visit. Especially for the Chinese or Japanese dishes. Pleasant View inside. Also a bar area for Adults.

Food is consistently good but some of the staff are rude - especially the man at the takeout desk. Don’t bother asking him any questions because he will just tell you repeatedly that he is too busy to help you.

Attentive wait staff. The salmon Don never disappoints. Nice variety of various cuisine, there is something for everyone: sushi, hibachi, noodles dishes, even Chinese and Thai style foods.

Delicious spot, great atmosphere

Oyama never disappoints me. I usually get takeout and it’s so quick and the workers are so nice and straight to the point. The sushi is my absolute favorite and the price is just right. I love this place so much!

I've been here twice on dates and the prices are affordable. The food was good, atmosphere was good, and service was good. Overall enjoyable experience and definitely on the roster for places to eat nearby.

Absolutely the worst. Curry…flavorless, Pad Thai…flavorless. Possible frozen Asian frozen from grocery store would have more flavor. With all the local farms nearby why would they serve decomposing vegetables?

The 12$ Lunch special is a excellent bargain and delicious to boot. They give you a california roll, salad with ginger dressing, miso soup, rice and choice between a half dozen items. The beef negimaki was well balanced.

First time eating here with my fiancé, and we absolutely loved it. Food was delicious and tasted fresh, customer service was amazing as well. Definitely recommend them for a great dinner spot!

This is our spot for Hibachi and sushi. Always fresh. The service is fast too even when busy.
We've have the Hibachi, sushi, tempura, the Chinese, it's all been real good.

Best sushi in the area! Oyama surprises us every visit with it's quality and attention to amazing flavors. A must go if you're craving sushi/Chinese/Thai cuisine.

Just passing through and decided I just had to have some sushi. It wasn't the place I was thinking of and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice atmosphere I was very happy with the sushi and the selection of sake.

We sampled Thai, Chinese and Hibachi dishes and they were all very delicious. The massaman curry had great flavor. The hibachi chicken and fried rice was perfect. Not sure what the egg roll looking thing was but it was also really good! Will definitely order again.

I have eaten here a million times. Usually the food is decent but this particular time the sushi just didn’t taste right. When I called to let them know I was told it was made fresh every day and that if I wanted a refund I could drive back there with the food to get one. My boyfriend went back with the food and the man just gave him an attitude and made a big deal about counting the rolls to make sure they’re all there. He just kept shaking his head like he was disgusted. I will not be going back after this incident. Oyama recently has gone completely down hill food wise and customer service wise.

This is our go to local restaurant here in Tolland for sushi and Asian cuisine. My child is addicted to the dumplings and usually gets a couple servings every time we go. I usually get the sushi here and there has never been a time that I've been disappointed. It's always fresh and whenever we go to eat in there is always plenty of room for us to sit

Oyama ct has to be one of the worst oriental food places in this god forsaken town. Small portions, missing food, and poor customer service. Definitely would not recommend to anyone; try joyluck if you really are desperate for some of that eastern spice.

Never a disappointment, good food, good prices.

We've been picking up sushi from Oyama almost on a weekly basis since we moved to Tolland last year and my only regret is not leaving a review sooner! The sushi is fantastic and the service is incredibly fast. Our favourites are the Pink Lady, Dynamite, and Godzilla rolls but their other menu items are also great. Definitely a safe choice for sushi if you're looking around in Tolland.

Great food, good service, quick, nice atmosphere!

They used a broken plate. Sushi was not worth for price (freshness, selection, and seaweed sheet covering rolls). Pineapple fried rice tasted like a 4yo kid made food. Tastes are too separate, too sweet, not salty enough and not harmonious.

Food tasted fine but was room temperature if not a little cold when i got it. I'm sure it was done prior to my wife and daughters food BUT that's no excuse for cold food specially when everything costs so much.

Oyama has always had good food when I've ordered. I love their sushi and habachi. (One time they put the sushi in with the hot food, this is my only complaint) The habachi chicken, steak and shrimp were all good. I got my son the children's habachi, it was a good portion. The miso soup is delish too. Easy to order and pick up.

Very disappointed with last nights dinner. Got a few different orders of sushi for everyone and mine got me so sick i almost went to the hospital!! I had extreme stomach pains and a rash formed all over my body and im not allergic to any sushi or anything like that. This is extremely disappointing to me was nice to have a japanese and thai place so close to me but i will never order from there again. Whatever you do dont get the sushi. Never felt stomach pain like that in my life kept me up till 2 am with just the pain

Delicious food and great service

Food is good. Service is among the worst I've seen in my life. And I hate to say it, but I could barely understand the broken English spoken by the staff. They stuffed my $100 pickup order of food all in one bag, something I objected to once I saw it. Upon opening the bag at home, one of the soups. (which had mysteriously been placed on the very bottom) was crushed, soaking everything in the bottom of the bag. An order of shrimp tempura was also missing, as well as the included lo mein for 2 of the meals. Their solution: another bowl of the mushroom soup that spilled. No apologies. Maybe they should package the meals the customers pay for insuch a way that it's convenient for the customer, not themselves. I don't think it's worth the trouble to try these people again. Maybe it's better for dine-in, but I'd recommend skipping them for take out.

Ordered takeout and got home to find my California rolls weren’t in the bag. Called place and the guy said he would give me the missing food at no cost and when I got there he refused to give me them and said I had to pay for them again. Really bad customer service for average food.

Best sushi in Storrs/Tolland area.

Great sushi! I have tried quite a few of the specialty rolls and haven’t found one I don’t like yet.

Small portions and high prices for ok food. Wouldn’t go back. Just go to The Spot next door, or any Japanese/Thai place in Vernon.

I really wanted to like this place. The sushi was ok, but the Thai selections were awful. Edamame was soggy, food had no spice, was bland and small portions. $6 for a side of hibachi noodles that were SUPER teeny. That being said, the servers were extremely nice. (Also, they charge for soda refills... whaaaaat!?)

When we walked in, they seated us right away. The restaurant appeared very clean with comfortable seating. Our server attended to us very often and made sure we had whatever we needed. The menu has many japanese dishes listed but often did not include a description of the dish so we had to do some googling. They only have one gluten free main dish on the menu (pad thai). The miso soup was ok, but tasted very bland and artificial. The food overall was ok, most of it lacked a lot of taste. I have had much more flavorful food at Asian Bistro or other Japanese restaurants. The drink we ordered was also just "ok". The yum yum sauce was probably the best part of the evening. It was very good. Also the mochi is delicious.

Great food! Everyone at our table got a different type of dish. Everything was amazing, with a special shout out for the Thai chicken wings and basil fried rice. The Scorpion bowl was potent in a good way too! This is an attentive service environment so please be kind. In previous reviews I saw feedback regarding hovering waitstaff. What it truly is - an owner ensuring plates are cleared, customers have what they need and the staff is always engaged with customers. It may be different than what you're used to at chain restaurants. They are not trying to rush you or be impolite-they are employing a true service culture which we loved. A new favorite place we plan on making a regular stop!

Nice atmosphere and great food

Finally went to Oyama last night in Tolland and have to say the entire experience was excellent. Zoe and the other servers who took care of our party were very attentive and friendly, our appetizers were delicious (Malaysian Pancake, Thai Wings (VERY spicy toppings, but cooked perfectly), Wasabi Shumai, Spring Rolls and Tempura Veggies), and the sushi rolls were definitely worth the price. Desserts were also pretty good and what you normally see at most Japanese/Asian-Fusion restaurants. We tried a bottle of sparkling sake which was served from a really neat bottle that has a side pocket you put ice in to keep drinks cold without diluting them. Definitely going back again.
