Northern Thai owned family with Traditional Northern Thai and Thai cuisine hidden of Thai fusion
Where do I begin? Looking for Thai food I promise don’t try anywhere else. The Green Papaya is the place to go! I’ve tried many great Thai spots and I would recommend this heavily. If you’re not sure what to order my go to is Pad Thai crispy chicken. This spot is seriously great with such a delicious variety of food. I’ve been eating here for years and it never gets old whether it’s summer or winter I’ll always eat here. 🤗
August 2024 - Meeting somewhere here on the last Friday of the month for the one day a week this restaurant provides a lunch menu, was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is low key, relaxed, and cozy. A house made into a restaurant, the first floor seating has tables for two and four. There is more seating upstairs for busy nights or perhaps larger groups.
Our waiter was polite and efficient even with the fact he apparently has to multitask with busing used dishes, sweeping floors, taking orders from customers and serving food.
We ordered one red curry entree with chicken and one Thai fried rice entree with pork. I did ask our waiter how the pork was cooked and he said it was sauteed. Thinking maybe it would be those little pink cubes found in Chinese fried rice, I thought I'd inquire as there are other choices of protein, chicken, beef, shrimp ($2. extra) as well as tofu and vegetables. The pork was plentiful and tender. I did think there was very little egg in my order. Since I couldn't finish it, I told our waiter I'd bring it home and have it for breakfast in the morning by adding a scrambled egg.
The red curry chicken was hotter than the green one my dining partner tried a week earlier, he said. I sampled it. Not too challenging. It has the kind of heat that simmers after you've had a bite and builds until the end of the dish. It comes with a bowl of rice. (choices are sticky, brown or jasmine.) Jasmine was chosen with this lunch. By the end of this meal, there was mostly the curry sauce in his serving dish so he put the rice in and finished the course this way.
There are many appetizers available. Spring rolls, shumai, satay and gyoza; soups, salads, and desserts. Mains include sauteed noodle dishes, house specials, stir fry and duck.
No alcohol is served here. Customers can BYOB. They do have a refrigerator that sells cold drinks and a table full of bottled or packaged Thai sauces and seasonings. Closed Mondays. Tuesday to Thursday hours are 3:00PM to 9:00PM. Friday and Saturday they are open 11-3 and then from 5-9. Sunday 12-7:30.
Catering and takeout is also available.
I love Thai food (I may be biased since I am half Thai lol). This Thai spot is near me and I drive by it all the time; I've been meaning to try it out. I love that it's in a historic house, parking was spacious and on the side of the house. I follow their social media and see their presence online; they seem nice and the food looked great.
My family and I ordered takeout. I had the chicken pad Thai. I really wanted to like it but it was underwhelming and bland. The noodles were drier than other pad Thai noodles I've had and lacked any color; and I've had my fair share, it's one of my favorite meals. Also, the prices compared to other Thai restaurants nearby were higher. The Belgian chocolate mousse dessert was perfect though. I had a taste of my husband's green curry chicken and it was good, I liked it better than the pad Thai; however, there was very little chicken in it. I'll have to try out their other menu items and come back with an update.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Connecticut. A family owned business. I come here for a more authentic Thai food. They have one of the best green papaya salads; portion is so big it is enough to share between 2 to 3 people. I love everything they have on the menu, especially the chef specials. Owners and servers are super friendly and always a joy to dine here. If you like dessert, don't forget to ask for the Belgium chocolate mousse.
Just had dinner here very early so we had the restaurant to ourselves. One owner served us, the other cooked. Both took time to say hello and speak with us. We were lucky to get one off-menu item and another special. As we ate, a steady stream of people came for takeout orders. A jewel.
Dirk always takes excellent care of me. The garlic stir fry chicken is absolutely delicious. The vegetables are so fresh it's like he just picked them from his garden. For dessert, the Belgian chocolate mousse is outstanding. This restaurant is exemplary in every way :)
Definitely a hidden gem with some of the best Thai food around! Love the way you’re greeted like family by Dirk from the moment you walk in the door all the way to the unique yet vibrant decor setting a great overall atmosphere. They have the best drunken noodles by far of any other local Thai restaurant. My favorite dish however is the pad prik king, the sauce is to die for. I also recommend looking at all the little trinkets and paintings for sale as soon as you walk in before the hostess booth which are all brought over from Thailand and then sold in the restaurant.
Cannot say enough about this place! Excellent food, legit vegan option for my partner, The owner is always there and great to talk to! Wonderful family run business.
Been coming here since I was a kid, definitely some of the best Thai food in the area and the staff is great. Green Papaya!!!!!

Love their curry and that you can BYOB <3 Great for family, friends, or a casual date.
This place is fantastic the food is made with love and care, staff is friendly and glowing. Best Thai food I've had ( I live in Houston) complements to the chef. Curries are layered with flavor and not muddy. Crisp clean and delicious. Probably the best Thai in CT.

Had the pineapple curry with pork belly, fantastic! The flavors from the bamboo and everything else went together very well and the dish was delicious
Love the red curry!!! I keep going back!!!
The food was excellent. Great fast service.

Special thanks to the owners for taking care of the faculty of Canton High School and donating their time and delicious food! It was appreciated and enjoyed by all! The chicken raam is my favorite along with the pad thai!
I have enjoyed Thai food all over the country, but this spot is special. The food is top of the line in freshness and flavor, quickly prepared and generous portions. And the owners are wonderful! There is nothing better than a family owned and operated restaurant that is takes the time to know every customer and treat the guests as kin. We'll miss coming here while the owners are on their long overdue vacation in Thailand, but looking forward to welcoming them home in August!
Had a wonderful meal at Green Papaya last night before the owners left on a well deserved break! Super friendly owner and staff. A great part of the community and the greater Canton-Avon area food scene!
Always delicious, very accommodating and friendly- have never been disappointed to say the least: Definitely our go to Thai restaurant.
Loved the Tamarind duck, and the Belgian chocolate mousse. Derek is an entertaining host. I will keep coming back.
Love Green Papaya, consistently excellent food.

The best!
Ordered oyster sauce stir fry- absolutely tasteless. The minced chicken ka prow , supposed to be one of the specialties was smelling bad and somewhat fishy. And the iced tea in coconut milk was literally horrible.. sorry tried here 3 times but could never understand the high reviews this place secured in the past
I have been to this restaurant several times in the last few years. It's one of my favorite places for the most flavourful, healing meals, and the service is always wonderful.
Thai food is all around, but this restaurant is unique. The menu is full of options with a variety of colors, flavors, and delicious tastes. It's worth every penny, and it's always worth a trip!
Do yourself a favor and stop by or order to go! Also, they allow you to BYOB if that's your style!
Check them out! You will not regret it!! Parking is in the back!! Can't wait for you to enjoy!!
Great food, very tasty. Relaxed atmosphere
Remarkable family business with a home-like atmosphere and novel recipes and taste.
The homemade smoked sauce and Belgian Mousse are must haves!
Celiac and allergy safe, too. (Gluten free)
Food is pretty great but the wait for the food is longer than most.
Delicious! Friendly and inviting.
Just had dinner here very early so we had the restaurant to ourselves. One owner served us, the other cooked. Both took time to say hello and speak with us. We were lucky to get one off-menu item and another special. As we ate, a steady stream of people came for takeout orders. A jewel.
Awesome family owned restaurant! Food is always incredible.
We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant and boy what a treat. The ambiance and service was top notch and the food was delicious. We will be coming back soon.
So delicious!! The music was a little loud, but otherwise- perfection from start to finish.
Sooooooo good best Thai restaurant in America
Food is great. Nice setting. Very nice staff.
Local gem! Food and service is top-notch and very reasonable.
We Went in for Valentine’s Day dinner. It Very busy, full of customers. We had the shrimp for appetiser, dinner was Basil Duck (which was fabulous, definitely would order this again!) and Chicken/coconut Curry (also very yummy) We had a delicious dessert of homemade chocolate mousse which was perfect! Reasonable prices for as much food as they serve! Very nice staff and we had an excellent meal and servers and staff were very wonderful and made the experience great!! A gem hiding in plain sight here in Canton!
Dirk and his family are amazing!! I have never felt so welcomed, the food was AMAZING!! If I could give 10 stars, I would!! Thank you for all you do!!
You know it’s gonna be a good Thai place when they give you a fork and a spoon, but this place always meets and exceeds my expectations. The staff there are so kind, even after the second time we were remembered and treated like VIPs. The food is excellent, but the biggest surprise is the chocolate mousse (prepped by a Belgian chocolatier)! Definitely worthwhile to go too.
A HIDDEN GEM FOR SURE!!! Went there last week with a friend to celebrate her birthday and the food was absolutely fabulous! The chicken satay was the best out of 7 Thai restaurants that I have been to in a 25 mile radius. Don't miss out on this wonderful place, it is very quaint. The food and service was top notch! The owner was so wonderful and very accomodating, I will definitely be going back!
They have delicious food!
My wife and I have been ordering take-out here for years and took the opportunity to dine in. What a great experience it is to be served by Dirk! He’s incredibly informative and can make great recommendations based on your dietary restrictions. By far, they have the best Drunken Noodles we’ve ever had. The coconut soup was packed full of veggies and delicious. We highly recommend this place and will be back!
Not what it used to be. Very mediocrel
The eclectic atmosphere was fun and refreshing both inside and outside the building. My first impression of this unassuming restaurant was a sense of warmth, welcoming, family style vibe as soon as I walked in. We tried the specialty curry which was a different flavor than all the others we tried. Very comforting for a cold day. We also had the lemongrass chicken appetizer, chicken raam, and mousse dessert. It was like being fed from a close friends kitchen. Would recommend!
The Green Papaya in Canton is a hidden gem with a warm & friendly atmosphere and excellent fresh dishes that never disappoint! Have been going here for years. Love it!
My favorite Thai place. Try the curry puffs!
My family and I have visited Green Papaya nearly a dozen times. They are wonderful people who deliver delicious food and thoughtful service. We cannot recommend them enough!
Great restaurant
3rd time dining and I have never had a meal that didn’t make me smile and be thankful that such an amazing and authentic Thai restaurant is nearby.
I absolutely love eating at this restaurant. The service is always prompt and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing! Every item I have ever gotten is incredibly delicious. I can't wait to come back!
Although receptionist is very friendly, food itself is terrible. Never again . Wonton soup is the worst I have ever had . Wonton has no meat and soup is full of mix veggies smh, grilled sausage entree for 20$ is a big no no.
Great meal and dessert recommendations
The Green Papaya is a family favorite restaurant. Whenever friends come to visit, I always make sure we make at least one stop here! The food is always so fresh and delicious and the owner/staff are so welcoming. Also I highly recommend reserving a homemade Belgian chocolate mousse!
Good food, but the service takes a while because there's only one cook, and there's no soundproofing, which can make it an incredibly loud establishment.
If you want a true get away with a beautiful thai meal this is the place you must go! The Food was so good it was to die for. The service was so fast it was a real spectacle to have such gorgeous dishes in such quick time it was honestly unbelievable. I will always visit this restaurant whenever im travelling in the area as im not local. This was by far one of the best places i and my family have ever had a meal from 10/10! <3
Been going here for a long time been very disappointed as of late. Today made an order told to pick up at 655 pm got the waited till 730 pm final got food. Got home food was below good. Very disappointed. Owner tried to say chef has done 249 dishes so far and a special dish caused a back up . Sorry never again!!!
Amazing food! I have celiac disease & they can make over 40 dishes gf. I waited to do my review to make sure I didn't get cross-contamination (or a reaction bc I also have an allergy) & NO CROSS-CONTAMINATION! Not only is the food at this restaurant DELICIOUS, but it is also SAFE for those with dietary restrictions! My go-to from now on! Thank you Green Papaya, you've made me very happy
Always a relaxed place to go with great food and kind people!
Their catering was wonderful! Everything was delicious and Dirk was a pleasure to work with. Thank you!!
Our family loves Green Papaya.
We’ve been coming here for years and the food, service and atmosphere are all perfect. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious but we really enjoy the pad Thai and curry options! Best Thai food in the area!
Absolutely wonderful and charming experience at one of our favorite Thai restaurants in CT. We drive over 40 minutes to visit Dirk (a wonderful character, who always shares funny stores) and his family business. The coconut dishes are where it’s at: Tom Kar soup, Wild Boar basil, and coconut ice cream have me salivating writing this review. It’s a small, homely space but just goes great with the family experience. Thank you Dirk and everyone at green Papaya. Can’t wait to visit again.
First time trying the Green Papaya last night. Food was delicious, service was great and it was a pleasure chatting with the owner. We will definitely be back.
Great panaang curry!!
Drunken noodles were excellent as well.
I am on a very strict diet (vegan, oil free, sugar free). I don’t even go to restaurants because of the accommodations I need but Green Papaya has been such a blessing. They are so attentive to the needs and accomodations of their customers. You can feel secure eating at the Green Papaya knowing that you are eating of the highest quality and the most honest. Each vegetable is hand cut and this really is home cooked meal restaurant. Everything you eat feels infused with love and is cooked and prepared by the lovely wife of the very entertaining and kind waiter that is always ready to have a conversation with you. I have been going to this family owned restaurant for years and have always greatly enjoyed my time there. Through the good and the bad this restaurant has stayed strong and it is the BEST place to invest in on a night out for dinner. I could not recommend it more.
half of the people here were thai for some reason. when i ordered my food. instead of food i was handed a mouse drenched in ketchup. kinda goofy ngl
We had a spectacular meal at this restaurant, including the most delicious thai iced tea. The meal was fresh and the flavor was outstanding. The service was excellent and we had a lovely conversation with the owner. This family-owned restaurant is a gem.
I’ve been going to Green Papaya for years now and have always had a good experience - both food quality and service. I haven’t had a bad meal there yet! I definitely recommend it.
I love going to Green Papaya and have been going for years. The food has been amazing every single time I have gone. The service is really good as well.
I love this place!!! The food was so fresh and delicious!! Belgium chocolate dessert was amazing as well!!
Just had a great night out with my girls! Food was amazing and the service was superb as always! We love having our bookgroup here because we have always had excellent eats and friendly service. Not much else you can ask for in a night out. The Green Papaya never disappoints!
Green papaya has been my family’s go to restaurant for years. Every birthday, holiday, family gathering, and anniversary green papaya is our #1 choice. Not only is the food excellent but we love the staff and always have an amazing time thanks to the owner Dirk. We love the warm and welcoming family atmosphere. If you love Thai food definitely consider supporting this local restaurant owned by a hardworking family!
Best Thai food I have had in quite some time. The owner was our waiter
he is very knowledgeable about the food and very friendly. I'm looking forward to going back again.
10/10! The owner and staff certainly take pride in their craft. The food quality and service are always consistent.
Incredible restaurant run by an incredible team. By far the best Pad Ki Mao I have ever had. The food had phenomenal flavor and tasted very fresh.
This was my first time at Green Papaya (after it coming highly recommended), and all I can say is you must go! The food was great, and the service was wonderful. Highly recommend!!
Best Thai restaurant in Connecticut! The food was delicious and fresh. The owner is so kind and attentive. I got the Salmon panang curry and I can confidently say it was the best I have ever had. I will be back again next week.
I just ate at Green Papaya for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is family owned. When you walk in you are greeted by the friendly owner who made sure our experience was amazing. The food is made by his wife, and was the most authentic Thai food I’ve had in CT. Definitely check this place out! I will be back :)
Such a cozy atmosphere and welcoming environment! I always love stopping in for a bite to eat whenever I can. The food is always good and the staff is always incredibly kind. Would recommended!
Service was amazing. Owner/waiter was one of the friendliest people I've ever met. The pad see ew and wild boar ball were both fantastic. I'm very upset that I left my leftovers on the table on the way out. We had big plans for that curry 😭
the best, loved the heat and the delicious scallops!
Great food, great people and the BYOB policy is something I've never heard of but will be trying next time!
Best Thai food around. So friendly and welcoming. My favorite place.
I ordered some food and the taste was okay. Not the best Thai food i’ve ever had. The place is a little run down but the server was friendly. However, I found bug legs (appears to be from a cockroach) in my summer roll. When I brought it to the servers attention he claimed it was from “the shrimp antennae” which is simply not true. The first review I left had also been deleted so it seems they’re not trustworthy.
Consistently fresh quality ingredients & excellent service! Very reasonable prices especially for what you get! It has been out favorite Thai restaurant for years!
The food here is some of my favorite. They are so accommodating with gluten free too! I usually order the pad thai with chicken & mixed vegetables, and everything always tastes so fresh. Prices are a tad steep, but I really really love this pad thai.
Incredible food!! My wife and I got takeout and were just blown away by the flavors and freshness. Dirk, the owner, was extremely personable, knowledgeable and welcoming. We didn't get to meet his wife as he said she handles the kitchen, but our compliments to the chef!! We will definitely be back to dine in next time. The two dishes we tried were the "Tiger Cry" and the "Pad Thai Crispy Chicken". Also the Belgium mousse was very good, looking forward to returning soon!
I don’t understand how this place could have anything less than 5 stars. I’ve been coming here for years and is hands down the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The environment is calm and cozy and it’s a small family run business. Derek is always super attentive and kind on the front end, and his wife makes the BEST Thai food! I don’t know why anyone says they had a rude experience because that seems like the exact opposite of my interactions with them in the years I’ve been going! They’re super kind and friendly people. Oftentimes they get busy but it’s just one person waiting the tables and his wife with a couple helpers in the back churning out these dishes. I’ve never had to wait long.
Super friendly family owned restaurant, always has great food.
What a wonderful place. The owners are so pleasant. Decorations are very cute and the food is amazing! We will be back for more! Looking forward to it. Highly recommend
Changing my review. The two times we ate in were great. We started ordering take out. The food for takeout was good about three times. Then all the sudden the prices and tipping sky rocketed and the food was inedible. We decided not to get scammed any futher and have since not returned.
Update since RUDE response from owners: To Dirk or Dirks wife,
What an extreamly rude and unprofessional response. It was your scam on prices that made me stop going here. To imply that I either don't have the money or don't want to pay the money $0.50 cent upcharge (which is definitely not how the scam took place) is DISTASTEFUL to say the least! Tipping you all was more money than I've ever had to tip before in person or on take-out at any restaurant anywhere, ever.
I have also no problem coming in face to face and discussing this disrespectful comment, you know me, you know my face and you know that I have ALWAYS been respectful and appreciative of your business, until you cheated me out of my money and I caught on. So to reply in the manner that you did, proves that not only was I right and you're finally showing your true colors, but that you've ripped me off numerous times. Now that I've called you out on it for the entire state to see- you're upset and your lack of customer service is beyond 0 Stars. Good luck with that unprofessional and demeaning attitude you should both be ashamed of yourselves and out of business for acting this way.
Think of the best party you have ever been to. Imagine this party happening inside your mouth, and you will begin to understand how great the food is here.
While all of the food is delicious, several exceptionally tasty dishes are from the same region as the owners' family in Northern Thailand and difficult to find anywhere else. The Belgian chocolate mousse is also fantastic.
Fantastic Thai food!! Wish we lived closer!
Great food. Very authentic and well prepared
Restaurant was packed. Had to wait longer than usual HOWEVER, everything was perfect. Completely worth the wait. Children asking for it TODAY FOR BREAKFAST. Lol. It was THAT GOOD
My choice was Lemongrass Vegatable Stir Fry with chicken with jasmine rice. Amazing taste .
Fried Calamari is out of this world. The owners are just as extraordinary as the food. Thank for your dedication.
Hands down the best Thai/Cambodian food in New England! Dirk and his wife are wife (sorry forget the chefs name) do an amazing job! Been going there 10+ years and always so consistent. Dirk gives amazing service, and the food is outstanding! If you don’t know now you do!
Best Thai food in CT, best I've had period. "Tiger Cry" on the menu is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Perfect dish.
Authentic, family run and a good atmosphere. The owners clearly know what they are doing so ask about heat levels and the Belgium Chocolate desert is a must!
I have been going to this restaurant for the last 5+ years. It truly is a institution in the town of Canton. Dirk is a great guy to talk to, and is a true staple in the area. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Love to see it getting the recognition it deserves. Wishing the best to this place and looking forward to seeing it continually grow.
Solid Thai food, just sub-excellent. Balanced flavors and fresh tasting. Pad Thai and Pad Prik King were very good. The Pad Thai oddly didn't have any vegetables. The green papaya salad was tasty but, a little too much chilli for my preference.
The service was terrible. Somehow not attentive with only 3 tables and one takeout order. It took a solid 10 mins to get the check. The Tom Yum soup I ordered at the beginning for takeout after wasn't started when we got the receipt back for our bill.
This place isn't the best in CT but wouldn't leave you unsatisfied. I'd go back in search of trying the Tom Yum I missed.
Dirk was wonderful! We connected over the owner Sudah who is away in Thailand. My fiancé and I both ordered duck and the banana dessert and were very happy with the food and our selections. Thai iced tea and coffee were also winners! Thank you so much!!
Great thai food.
Eclectic old house with a quaint and cozy atmosphere. Not overly cluttered with stuff, soft music, relaxing colors. Place had just opened and only the owners were working when we arrived. We came for an early supper and left feeling so satisfied. Despite being very busy fulfilling all the duties of a restaurant while short staffed and attending us we felt very taken care of. Very attentive, very accommodating, fabulously upbeat and cheerful disposition. The food was prompt and delicious, best meal we’ve had in a long time. Would 100% recommend (especially the decadent chocolate mousse) and will absolutely be returning for more.
I will comment in Chinese to describe more clearly.
This restaurant is a must! Authentic and the folks are wonderful hosts!
Our favorite place! Always incredibly friendly and the food is amazing!!!
The most authentic, fresh Thai food in the area—no question! Husband/wife team and she is the chef. Excellent!
Food is absolutely amazing and authentic!!!! We devoured all of it. Every single item was top notch; especially the pad Thai and chocolate mousse!! We even ordered a second plate of shumai! Owner was super friendly and accommodating as well. Will be back 100 percent! 😍
Having newly moved to Avon it was our first time dining at The Green Papaya. What a delight! The owner Dirk was so warm and took time to answer questions we had about menu items. Our food selections, which included Drunken Noodles were delicious. And the Chocolate Mousse was a great surprise. We will definitely return to try more selections!
Delicious chicken soup with distinct flavors. Not spicy at all and no black pepper thank you!
Excellent food
The appetizer special was just horrible! I’m not even sure how to describe it; dry, bland, fried mystery app? Just bad all around. The fried rice was decent. I’ve eaten here before and had the pad Thai which was pretty good.
Delightful and delicious Authentic Thai cuisine 😘🤩
Excellent food and service! Authentic Thai food.
Will definitely be coming back.
Great Thai cuisine right here in little old Canton that equals restaurants in Seattle, Vancouver BC, and Boston, and NYC.
We come here from time to time and have always like it. Great food and a very nice atmosphere. Today we got takeout panang curry and chicken raam. I asked for Thai hot for the curry and got it 👍. It's nice to be able to get really hot and really good Thai food.
Our food took over 2 hours to come and it was just okay. Would not come back here.
Stumbled upon this place while looking for another place. From the outside you're not sure if it's a dump or something really charming inside. Most definitely the latter! Excellent Thai food. Friendly service despite a lack of staff and the wait was not bad considering. Have been recommending to others. Hope you stumble upon it too!
Grateful to the charming company I dined with and atmosphere (2nd date); the accommodating host/waiter and the kitchen! I felt really at ease asking questions, sharing my food allergies and trusting the employees know what items would quench my cravings.
The food was prepared fresh and without delay and we weren’t rushed from our tables.
I really enjoyed the experience.
The food is always great. I love any of their crispy duck options and their pad thai is the best I’ve ever had.
Hands down best Thai food we have had and we have tried many Thai restaurants across country. The food is very fresh, not heavy but still very flavourful!!
My family and I have been eating here for years, and if it was my last meal on Earth I would request Green Papaya’s pad Thai and Belgian chocolate mousse. We have never had anything but excellent food here, and are huge fans of the wonton soup, chicken satay, thai fried rice, pad thai, and love the curry and seafood options. We are always greeted with a smile, great food and great conversation. Truly a family run gem within Canton.
Lovely! Food is excellent.
Simply delicious
I've been coming to the Green Papaya for quite a few years, and it never disappoints. Ingredients are fresh, dishes are homemade, sauces aren't overly heavy, spiciness always hits the spot. You can confidently order from virtually any part of the menu - I've never encountered anything that was sub-par. Portions are over-generous (the chicken satay appetizer, for example, could be an entree for most people), but you can always take some home!
It's even better if you can score one of the limited Belgian chocolate mousse desserts - best to reserve those in advance, because the owner makes only a dozen a day.
Remember to BYOB if you want wine or beer with your dinner - no liquor license. Or you can do take-out - the food is just as good, but then you miss the atmosphere, of course!
Hi my name is Roger, my family and I have been eating at green papaya for years , we’ve never had a bad meal there, staff is very nice food even better,
I really wanted to like this place. Nice local thai but this was my second time here and not impressed at all . Expensive, over cooked dry chicken and no flavor to the curry, watered down.
Food was somewhat okay. I’m kidding it’s not good. But the waitress was great
Second time here. The food is exceptional! We started with the crab rangoons, shumai, and golden crab. All were tasty. His favorite was the shumai. For entrees I had the Kai-Kra-Prow both times. It is flavorful and spicy, but not too hot. My husband had the Tamarind Shrimp. It was delicious as well. The sauce was citrusy and sweet. The owners take a lot of pride. The wife makes magic in the kitchen and the husband runs the front of the house and is delightful.
Great service with excellent food
This place is truly a neighborhood gem! The food is incredible, especially the Pad Thai. The service is impecable and the family who runs are lovely: a super kind Belgium man waits the tables and his Thai wife and mother in law do the cooking. Went with my wife and friends who we met while living in Thailand together and this place brought back so many amazing memories. The food really does taste like what you’d expect in Thailand. Delicious!
Very welcoming
Food is delicious
One of the best Thai restaurants in miles. Small and simple place with a great menu and delicious authentic Thai food.
Soooo good - love this place
My family and I went here a lot during Covid lockdown and have been a few times since. The food is really tasty at a good price! Their take out process, which is all we've experienced, is very efficient. Staff is super friendly too!
Just AWESOME! Had the drunken noodles with seafood and it was one of THE best dishes I have ever had anywhere, in any country, with any type of food, at any type of restaurant, anytime. Blows away the competition. Just outstanding. 5/5 stars... so well-deserved!
The food and staff are absolutely wonderful. Family run, everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. I introduced my new husband to Thai last night there and he was over tge moon raving to anyone who would listen on how good the food was, how nice the staff is and how reasonable the prices were in this time of price hikes. Go! You will not be disappointed.
I love this this place so much the food is so exquisite and Mameaw is such a good staff member she is so nice to people and I enjoy the restaurant.
Nice place food was good
the best
Delicious!!! Everything we ordered was tasty and just the right flavor.. just be sure to ask if certain dishes are spicy or get a level 0 if you don't like spice at all
Best Thai food in Connecticut. The owners are delightful, the food delicious, and the staff friendly. They also have the best Belgian chocolate mousse in dare I say the country. Ask for Dirk!
Delicious, great thai.
Excellent food and service. Prices fair.
The owners are sweet and wonderful, the food was amazing, authentic, light and not too greasy, and the restaurant is super cute. Whenever we are up this way, we will definitely always be stopping here, and bringing friends too!
Absolutely delicious food! I have gone there now a couple times and both times the customer service was exceptional, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty Thai food.

Super delicious thai food. Really felt the authenticity of this joint. Kinda of a cozy home feel to it. Not your industrial restaurant here. Wish the drinks were bigger
