Family-friendly, Authentic Thai Restaurant
3.5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Family owned Thai restaurant. Service is great and staff is friendly. The food in my opinion was ok. Although I do recommend you go check it out as most folks think this is the best Denver based Thai restaurant - this is only my second Thai place in Denver so I don’t have much to compare against.
It doesn’t seem vegetarian or vegan friendly when it comes to appitizers but entrees seem to be ok.
The Tofu Larb was decent not anything special has its cubes tofu. If you have had chicken Larb before you know traditionally it’s minced chicken but can’t be replicated for tofu.
Veg spring rolls were good and crispy and will recommend. The drunken noodles and pad Thai were bland and could use some more flavor perhaps more salt and spice.
A fantastic place! My partner’s favorite in town. They honor the spice level you request, and they are delightfully efficient. Great portions, flavors, and noise level (ie not glaringly loud! Wonderful). We really enjoy eating here. The fried tofu is a consistent order for us. Highly recommend.
I have tried many Thai restaurants in the Denver metro area over the years and I am so thankful to finally have found the best spot to get some amazing authentic Thai food. I've been going to Aung's for a year now and finally getting around to writing a well deserved review with some great pics. The service is always quick, welcoming and friendly. The food by far has always hit the right spot and been delicious!!! Hands down the best Thai in Denver. I've tried at least 10 different menu items and have been pleased with every one of them. The Pad Thai is my favorite with Pad Prik King being a close second. Don't pass this place up and go support a family owned authentic place to eat. Hope you enjoy their food as much as I do. 😍
We mostly enjoyed our food at Aung’s. The Thai egg rolls were very heavy and breaded, not really what we were expecting. The pad see ew was good, but not spectacular. The service was very good and food was quick to come out. A decent place to eat a quick lunch if you’re craving Thai.
We love Aung’s! My husband and I have gotten takeout from here on average once a month for 3+ years. While takeout orders can sometimes be a longer wait (I recommend calling earlier in the evening), staff always give you a heads up before ordering. Despite that, the food is always hot, fresh, and consistently delicious. I’m a bit of a creature of habit and have admittedly only ever ordered the drunken noodles and the vegetable egg rolls—they’re both so good I’ve never felt the need to branch out further. This might be a small thing, but I always get a specific modification to my drunken noodles and they have *never* gotten it wrong. My husband has tried several other dishes, with the garlic pepper beef being among his favorites. I don’t know if this is the “best” Thai food, but it’s easily one of my favorite spots for a comforting meal.
We got back from our honeymoon in Thailand and a week later were craving Thai food so decided to try Aung’s. It definitely met our expectations, authentic Thai food! Was delicious & staff were so accommodating. We'll be back!
Can never go wrong with the massaman curry or pad see ew from Aung’s. Some of the best Thai food in south Denver
Sign says open til 9:30, got there at 8:45 and it was closed.
Delicious!
Best Thai in Colorado. Phenomenal. I can never decide between the Khua or Pad Thai so I just get both. The dimmer lights are more ambient than the bright ones they used to have, but it's still a little spare in there. We always get takeout.
Basil fried rice
We ordered this as our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and loved this rec. Aung’s had great flavor and the right spice level if you like spicy! Tasted even more delish the following day. Happy Hanukkah!
Excellent food and service. The Pad eggplant is outstanding. The spring rolls are very good. The spice levels are consistent over many visits.
We drive 40 minutes just for their pad Thai. Best pad Thai we’ve had in denver!
Best Thai food in Denver. Aung’s never disappoints. I frequently get Tom Kha soup, Pad See Eew, Panang Curry, or any other Thai classics!
Large portions of flavorful food. I think that the heat scale here is a bit hotter that other Thai places around town, so keep that in mind. (We order one level down from every other Thai restaurant we patronize.)
Delicious drunken noodles and pad eggplant!

I’ve been in here to eat a few times. Every time, it’s absolutely delicious. Some of the best Thai food in Denver in a very unsuspecting spot. The Massaman Curry, Green Curry, and Garlic Pepper entree are amazing!
The pineapple fried rice was absolutely out of control!
One of my favorite Thai spots around town. The pad eggplant with chicken is my go to!
Food was amazing, i talked to the waitress about gluten free options. And apparently they use tamari for all of their sauces, so there are many GF options. This is my go to place for that exact reason!
Great entrees you can't typically find at other Thai restaurants like Lad Nah or Khua.
Food is excellent. We usually get to go and they don't skimp on quantity!
The absolute best Massaman Thai Curry!
Delicious food, I had the Pad Thai and it was absolutely fantastic, I got the hot pad thai and it was perfect. Very spicy. My husband got the peanut curry and he enjoyed it a lot. Grandma got a different dish and it was fantastic. We went over 30 minutes out of our way to stop here and we will 100% be returning.
Drunken noodle, pad Thai, Thai egg roll.
Food is still great, but I'm sorry to say they've lost the plot (and this customer) with the most recent price increases. $17.99 for fried rice? That's gonna be a no from me dawg.
Aungs is consistently spot on. All the noodles are excellent, the curries are excellent, the fried rices are excellent, and spice levels are actually accurate. Easily top 3 Thai in Denver metro. Don’t ever leave englewood please
The food is always amazing. One of my favorite places to eat!
Best Thai I have had. Really amazing place. Their spring rolls are a bit of a weak point but the rest of the food is so good that you can't complain.
Our daughter and family live in Bangkok so we have had real Thailand food. Aung’s was right up there. All our meals were delicious and authentic. Highly recommend going there and supporting a local family owned restaurant.
Between a liquor store and a nail shop sits Aung’s Bangkok Cafe. I’ve known about this place for many years but we decided to try it for the first time a few months ago and since then it’s been solid every time. We enjoy eating here either inside or calling for a pick up order. We have not tried every dish but everything we have tried so far has been on point.
Our new favorite Thai restaurant! Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were HUGE! 10/10
My favorite Thai food in Denver. Always delicious.
Update:
I don’t know what happened to this place but I haven’t been in a while and the food quality has really declined for how much I paid.
The curry was separated and gritty. The pad Thai was just ok and it was the best thing we had. The basil fried rice was the worst. Super bland and had egg shells in it.
Definitely disappointed.
Best curry in Denver, and the Kua Noodles are amazing.
This place is really tasty, and they offer gluten free options which is always appreciated.
However! What really grinds my gears is that in 2024 they do not have an online ordering platform? You cannot place an order online so you have to call and they very often screen calls so you can’t get through to them!!
BEST Thai in the entire state of CO, hands down 🙌🏽
Best rangoon I’ve had (after much trial). Efficient and kind staff, delicious entree selection. After a hard couple days at Swedish Hospital this meal was a major highlight. Thank you very much
Fantastic drunken noodles, tasty and saucy the way I like them. Beware that 'medium' means THAI medium!
Great Thai! Love the pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and chicken panang curry spice level 2. Don’t forget some crab cheese wantons. The sauce is so good!!!
Wonderful food, generous portions, lovable staff!
Everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying
Love the place ! gluten free and vegan options are available by request !
Have been here before with 5 stars. Mother’s Day at 6 pm dine in ordered food. Appetizers came 1 hr and 5 minutes later. Main meal followed less than 5 minutes later. I ordered extra rice and spice on side. Didn’t come. Asked server, they said they would get it. Never came. Asked waitress. Said she would send it out. Never came. Finally got it with takeout container and took it home. All this bad stuff aside, we love the food. Nothing like it near Eagle. Of course, after the service failure, we would have eaten our own arm! I will write this off to an isolated incident. Next time we are nearby we will try again and hope we go home with both arms!
Food was delightful. The hot spice level Spice level was addictive. Will be going back soon!
Legit Thai food. Finally found a Thai restaurant that doesn’t disappoint
The food was decent, but nothing to rave about. There were 10 of us and I was impressed by how fast all the food came out. Besides spicy, they have also have a "Thai" spicy. Each portion came with a generous of rice which I appreciate that as an Asian.
Great food , like everywhere else it has horrible, apathetic service. Also, only white wine and one type of beer. Great food though!
The yellow and green curries are excellent. Very spicy Thai hot (for me, at least), but I think mild and medium would be tolerated by a vast majority of people. The chef, Aung, makes great food, and you'll see him, too!
great food, horrible service. servers can't speak english or just straight up ignore requests.
Arguably the best Thai in Denver IMO.
I love Aung’s! Quality is consistently high and the portions are large. I haven’t had anything I don’t like.
We had called a bit on the closer side to closing time, but they were more than happy to put together our pick up order. We got the drunken noodles and pineapple fried rice. They were both delicious and the portions were generous. One of the best pineapple fried rices we’ve had, the cashews and yellow curry make it rememberable. I wish we were local to this gem.

Best Thai restaurant in Denver hands down! We get drunken noodles and basil fried rice. The spicy level is awesome as well!
Very pleased with our whole experience
For some reason, the de rigeur Thai desert, sticky rice with mango, is generally eschewed here, which is my only reservation, and a petty one at that.
Greatest Thai food in Denver. We come here weekly. Wonder family that runs it thanks so much for what you do.
Food was excellent and a bargain for the portions. Place was definitely understaffed and the waitress seemed very stressed trying to get to everyone.
Would recommend, just be prepared to be patient!
Best Thai restaurant in Denver
Clean, friendly, large dishes (should've split a dish), and true to requested spice level (very spicy)
Food was delicious. Tables were decently spaced so people could easily go between tables. They handled order pickups swiftly while not delaying in house patron orders. Servers were attentive however he did forget one item. It was remedied immediately after asking again.
The best Thai food in Denver!
The best Thai food on the southern end of town! And believe me I’ve tried most of it.
It tends towards spicy so keep that in mind when ordering but it’s so so good!
Our favorites are the pad see ew and kua (fried garlic and noodles in a brown sauce?! What’s not to like?) Their masaman curry is also very good as is their fried rice.
Friendly and kind service too.
Highly recommend. They have great food and quality. The service is great.
Absolutely love this place. It is a great find for wonderful Thai food hidden away in Englewood.
Great food, staff was helpful and they make their chili seasoning in house! Prices are pretty high for Thai food, but this spot is one of the better options in the area. Their egg rolls are very delicious! The pumpkin curry was great and I'm not even a fan of pumpkin.
Favorite Thai in Denver. Consistently tasty.
Fantastic food for a great price. We got drunken noodles and panang curry and each dish was enough for 3 meals (so 6 meals total for like $37). Spice levels are true to the menu - hot is definitely hot but so delicious. Will definitely be returning. Better value + flavor than other Thai places in the city.
Best Thai food I've had since Thailand. Try the pad prik King.
Try the Khua. DELICIOUS!!
Im a bit of a pad thai snob, and that was one of the best ive had in 50 states and 15 countries. incredible. The staff is great. atmosphere is subtle and subdued. This place is a must for any thai fan.
The service was a little slow but not bad. Very pleasant place with terrific food.
We mostly enjoyed our food at Aung’s. The Thai egg rolls were very heavy and breaded, not really what we were expecting. The pad see ew was good, but not spectacular. The service was very good and food was quick to come out. A decent place to eat a quick lunch if you’re craving Thai.
Delicious pad thai! Fast service.
Absolutely a great Thai place, one of the best in Denver. Parking can be difficult as it is in a small strip mall. But worth every $$.
The green curry chicken was fantastic. Chicken was very juicy and tender. Nice atmosphere with modern furnishings. The service was very slow due to only one waitress and a full restaurant.
Food wasn't as good as it used to be and my husband's vegan dish included eggs. They gave us 10 % off the bill for the error, which was good of them, but I still don't think we'll be returning. Thai Pot, not too far away, is great for vegan or gluten free Thai food.
Some of the best Thai food I’ve had in Denver area, and I’m a bit of a tough critic with Thai. The drunken noodles and woon sen pad Thai are 10/10.
Always great food every time we go! Definitely one of our favorites!
Aunty Aung you've done it again. Your food is so good every time. I'm compelled to leave this review saying thanks, for this delicious experience.
gf drunken noodles A1
From many other Thai places, Aungs has THE BEST drunken noodles I've ever eaten in Colorado. They never never disappoint. Be mindful of your spice tolerances.
I have done take out here dozens of times and recently ate inside for the first time. The food never disappoints--delicious, fresh, and large portions. Service inside the restaurant was friendly and quick. One of my favorite places to eat in the Denver Metro area.
Absolutely abysmal service. I arrived at 5pm to an empty restaurant and ordered an appetizer and a tofu curry, after inquiring if their tofu is fried (it is). I waited 45 minutes to watch other people who walked in after me get their appetizers, and finally the waitress showed up with a CHICKEN curry and no appetizer. I was astounded, especially because I specifically asked about their tofu before ordering it. I told the waitress I wasn't interested in waiting for them to remake it, and left.
I cannot in my life recall receiving service this slow at a restaurant that was empty when I got there, nor this level of total apathy. Apparently they ran out of my appetizer, but didn't bother to inform me.
I wish I could give them zero stars.
Size to Price ratio is great, you come in and can spend around $12-14 per person, while leaving more than full, which isn't super common nowadays unless you roll into some greasy chicken shack.
From a flavor perspective the food is just good enough, lots of heat, but not much in the way of varying spices which is more common in quality Szechuan cuisine, yes I know this isn't Szechuan, just making a comparison that Thai food is more bland than other Asian cuisine, and this restraunt didn't take any steps to improve the flavor.
To sum it up
✅ Value to Price Ratio
✅ Quality and Freshness
✅ Service prompt and easy going
👎 Depth of Flavor
👎 The Heat level isn't actually authentic, it's way over the top, and I love spicy cuisines, the Level 7 is almost inedible, level 7 isn't Thai Spice, it's my ears are ringing spice. This is coming from an avid eater, who always orders the highest spice level.
Seriously my favorite “special place” the yums are yum and ginger stir fry is my fav ginger meal EVER.
Food are good. Service took a little bit too long than 20 mins
Was a lot more generic of a place than I thought it would be, but the food was excellent. Be very careful with your spice selection however, as they come in the high side.
Loved the food, I am great fan for Thai food and will suggest for any one wishing to eat some good Bangkok Thai food.
Parking is limited.
The food we got was terrific service was a little iffy. Seems like they were understaffed. They were also out of several menu items. I will definitely go back.
Excellent service bomb food
Amazing food, best pork fried rice I’ve eaten. You need to check this place out if you haven’t already.
The pad Thai was very salty but overall tasty. Do be cautious of the spice level as medium is spicy.
Extremely authentic and delicious! I lived in Thailand for several years so I’m picky with the Thai restaurants I give good reviews to. This one was amazing.
Best Thai in Denver! The Phanaeng curry and pad Thai are both excellent, we love the generous portions on the to-go meals.
Some of the best and hottest drunken noodles ever! Always delicious and always consistent! Can't go wrong if this is your dish!!!
Respectfully, I do not understand the allure of this place. While I am a longtime Englewood resident and appreciate the longevity that this restaurant brings to our community, it simply misses the mark on the depth of flavor in food, service, and in its ability to handle take-out orders. I can count no fewer than four occasions in which my partner and I tried to place a take-out order to only have the phone ring endlessly and eventually dump to voicemail. Most recently tonight, in person, the food lacked depth and the servers butchered our final bill after no fewer than four corrections of it. I really, really want to like this place, but they do not, in my experience, provide the authentic Thai flavors that I have experienced many times over while visiting my friends who have lived in Thailand for many years.
Very good food, great service. Modest
Dirty and greasy front door with lots of greasy handprints. The table top was also dirty and greasy. Waitperson was asked to clean it which she did but then didn’t wash hands before serving food to nearby guests. Only stayed because dining companion chose it. Won’t be back
We love this place! The best Thai in Denver and probably best Thai we have had outside Thailand in a long time.
Spicy, flavourful! Highly recommend them!
Best Thai food in Denver
Yum!
Amazing food! I have tried multiple dishes and have never been disappointed!
Great food and great during lunch! A bit pricey but totally worth it. Food is authentic and the medium plus is spicy! Which I love. Service is great too. Totally recommend.
One of the best pad se ew I have tasted. Tom yum and pad Thai wasn’t for me (too sweet) but that’s okay. I LOVE their pad se ew.
Food was wonderful even though there were no spring rolls. Sort of industrial decor.
Absolutely love the food here, we are regulars! Hope the bring back mango sticky rice, we ask for it every time!!!
Aung's is phenomenal! A true chef, the food was as good as it gets. Reasonably priced, good portion size that provided plenty of leftovers. Waitresses were friendly and attentive.
Easily the best Thai food I've had in Denver, and the best egg rolls. Really great food, really great prices. The service was a bit slow on the day I went, but it didn't detract from the quality of the food. Will be back.
Delish. This was our first visit. We are definitely looking forward to going again. They were very busy but the wait staff stayed positive and friendly. Give them a try.
What a surprise. This restaurant was way better than most of the luxury restaurant out there. Don’t get fool by the small look. Food was tasty and delicious really authentic taste of Thai. Fair price and huge portion to feed yourself. Deeply recommend
I called in an order and was told the wait for pickup would be one hour(I have no problem with that. Kitchens get backed up on a Saturday night, no worries) but I went to pick up my food, and it was pretty cold. I think it had been ready sitting on the counter for at least 30 minutes. I think if we could have gotten fresh food it would have been pretty good.
Excellent food, great service and very reasonable prices especially considering the large portions.
Meh. Get your shht together.
One of our favorite Thai places!
Crab fried rice, seafood basil and shrimp papaya salad are a few of my favorites! Between friends, family, my husband and myself we have tasted the entire menu with no complaints! Great food and amazing staff! A must try 😊
Good food, reasonable prices
Decent food, reasonable prices, relatively quick service. Negative - little to no parking makes it really difficult to eat here often.
Great Food. Always busy
The food is amazing. The service is also great. Walked in and it was really busy. Was seated and received our food in a timely manner. The portions are great and the food is extremely flavorful.
Great tasting food. I’d hope to see more variety in the menu. Also customer service isn’t consistent.
One of only a couple Thai places that reminds me of getting Thai food in Thailand. Great authentic flavors at a reasonable cost. I always highly recommend Aung's!
First time to try Aung’s and had a good experience. It seems that this place leans a bit more pan-asian American food with items like crab cheese wontons on the menu, which are pretty damn good if I’m being honest. Another notable feature is the “medium plus” level of spiciness, great option and respectable spicy without melting down. Service was friendly even when understaffed. Would go again!
Great customer service and fast take out! Ordered the Panang Chicken Curry (medium) and it was really hot (I'm from Colorado). I recommend ordering 1 heat level below your preference. Portion size was huge and they didn't skimp on chicken!
Waited for over 40 minutes and I still haven't received my food.
We went here on Saturday evening with a 7pm reservation. It was a busy evening. It took around 30 minutes to just get a drink order. They were out of red wine, so we ordered an appetizer that they were also out of, and after dinner, they were also out of dessert. The food was good but the service was horrible. I would definitely recommend not dining in. Just order for take out. Short of staff and not everything on the menu available. Also note that there is very little parking.
They have many to go orders so you have to wait a bit but their crab fried rice is so delicious. Pad see you was okay.
Good food, generous portions at a reasonable price. We loved our server, she is a sweetheart, thank you.
Service is always good and food is consistently excellent.
We usually come here for takeout. It's always delicious, but plan to wait 45 min to an hour if you are ordering during the dinner rush. That said, it's worth the wait!
so delicious and fresh!! lots of flavor! cozy atmosphere. definitely vegan friendly.
I went here for the first time the other day and got the Tom Kha soup, and it was excellent! It was delicious and creamy and perfectly spicy. I like that they allow you to choose your spice level, and this is exactly what I wanted it to be. The soup was the perfect treat for a chilly day and was something I'd definitely get again, but I'd also like to see what else they have to offer. Others are correct, there's not a lot of parking right in front of this place, but there's street parking all around, so just park where you can and walk. The food is worth it.
Food was so good as always.
Good food, ordered the spiciest dish I could get and although it didnt come close to killing me, it had more of a nip than I figured it would have. Tasted great either way. Our server was amazing. Definitely recommend! (Mind you that I eat really spicy things all the time, rest of my group said the medium was pretty spicy, so if you dont like spicy food, dont do the Extra spicy!)
Want here for lunch, got pretty busy with take out and phone orders, tables pretty busy as well. Only one person trying to hold down the whole fort and she did a good job of it. We weren't in a hurry so no big deal, other customers were laid back as well. Food was tasty and fresh. Wife had the chicken Pad See Ew, I had the pineapple tofu curry. Will consider going back for sure if in the area again.
Consistently amazing and flavorful dishes with generous portions. Service can be a hit or miss, but the food overshadows it.
Fantastic vibe and really good food. It's a husband and wife team but they run a really tight operation. Food was out very quickly. Portion sizes are incredibly fair given the price. The spice level is pretty well-denoted as well (no hotness inflation here).
I would go during lunch rather than for dinner. The entre prices are 3 dollars cheaper.
Incredibly tasty food. One of the best Thai places in all of Denver.
Delicious Thai Food, must stop spot for ppl in the area
One of my favorite Thai restaurants, food is amazing, careful with the heat levels. I love super spicy food and HOT is the perfect level for me! Service is great, everyone is nice and friendly.
The food was delicious. This is our go to restaurant.
