Modest go-to for lighter Thai dishes that include curries, noodles & house specialties.
Not sure if the bad reviews are just bored people or what. The papaya salad is almost as good as we’ve had in Thailand! The service is exceptional and fast with fantastic attention to customer preference and satisfaction. People that leave nasty reviews with derogatory comments about food instead of leaving a kind but dissatisfied review. Find something better to do with your time! If you want good Thai food and great service at a VERY affordable price, I recommend Buddha Thai! Cheers
Buddha Thai is a busy, little shop located in a strip mall. While the surroundings are not the most scenic, their little patio is clean and comfortable with potted flowers. The food was outstanding! We had chicken steamed dumplings, Tom ka, Tom yum, laarb, and pad thai. Everything was flavorful and spiced to our liking. They add heat on a one-to-five scale. I opted for a five, my partner a one. Each of us was happy with our choices.
The service was superb, they were fast and friendly.
Called in an order for appetizers they said would be ready in 10 minutes. After arriving in 10 minutes I still had to wait almost 30 more minutes to receive my order. I had ordered appetizer and entrees the day before and everything was on time and the food was great on both occasions. I'll be sure to go back within the week since I'm visiting and will be leaving Boulder soon. Best Thai ever!
My partner and I are tourists in Colorado. We are staying at a quaint bnb near boulder. We ordered penang and green curry from here because the other places prices were a little high. Damn! Their curries are great! For the price the quantities are excellent and taste wise amazing. Truly delightful!
Partner after eating: burp of satisfaction!
First time there and really enjoyed the red curry with pork. Plenty of vegetables. I ordered medium spice and it was a pretty spicy which was ok. I like it to hurt a little. Very flavorful. Brown rice was good and I treated myself to a Thai Iced Tea which was also good. Will be visiting again.
I come here quite often. I decided to request no zucchini today because I don’t eat it whenever it comes and figured I’d just get rid of it. However after picking up my food it had zucchini.
Food is still good and flavorful but it’s annoying have to pick around it after requesting it not be there.
This is the healthiest Thai food I've ever had. The drunken noodles came with more vegetables than average. The Thai iced tea and Tom Ka were less sweet than I typically get. The waiter gave me fresh basil on request and they made the drunken noodles without egg when requested.
Food is delicious and they give a lot of it! Love you guys! <3
Love it. This is my work lunch default.
Our go to Thai takeout in Boulder
best restaurant in Boulder. consistently friendly service, super high quality ingredients and generous portions.
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Noodles were crunchy and chewy. I don’t usually leave reviews but this was so bad I felt obligated to.

Eat here quite often, but it has a lot of gluten free options
BEST PAD KEE MAO (Drunken Noodles) EVER!. I have traveled around different areas of Colorado, the USA. and Thailand. Not everywhere obviously but in my experience This is the best pad kee mao you will ever have.
I've tried many dishes here and each one is carefully and very well done. Only a small selection of their other dishes may not nessecarily WOW you but they will always be tasty and delicious. But get the PAD KEE MAO. It has a certain tangy tangyness to its flavor that I've never tasted in any other.
The staff are impeccably friendly and attentive.
The only reason for not 5 stars on ambience is its a small place. This is a very very nice version of a classic thai street food resturaunt with brick and mortar. But it's not luxurious. Nor should it be.
I live and work in a different city now. But I always make it a point to get back to Buddha. Enjoy!
Great service, nice calm atmosphere, and amazing flavors!! Unconventional, but great place to study too
Delicious affordable Thai food that is served quickly.

Excelente 👌
Food here is amazing! Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder. The staff are great and super nice. The restaurant is not ment for large groups but the always accommodate us when we go. The restaurant does get hot but worth it for the great food!
I have ordered takeout here several dozen times and the order has only ever been correct, on time, and delicious! This is my go-to.
The staff here were very kind but the food could have been better, the fish was honestly really dry and hard but everything other than that everything else was really nice.
Chill vibes, great service and yummy food!
They flatly ignored my request for no sugar in the curry. Abominable. Only Mexican Rockaleta can boldly, authentically claim that amount of sugar & spice.
Bizarre food. They fail on the most basic execution: rice is so overcooked it’s mush, and the tapioca coconut milk dessert is again so overcooked that the tapioca is one giant ball of mush rather than individual tapioca pearls.
Also don’t get food here expecting authentic Thai. It’s more Thai inspired with many of the dishes watered down in terms of flavor. The laab salad and drunken noodles were the most inauthentic preparations I have ever eaten and I’ve had these dishes hundreds of times all over the world because they are two of my comfort faves. Their laab uses chopped up meat instead of ground, and instead of the authentic mint, shallot, and toasted rice incorporation, they mix in iceberg lettuce and cucumber. The drunken noodle sauce is ketchupy, and lacks any kind of Thai basil herb note which is key to the dish.
Only saving grace is the green curry, which albeit too sweet, was generous in portion for a delivery order, and had a nice spicy kick to it which was great.
I’ve never been in however, I have ordered A LOT from them via Grub Hub. Their food never disappoints. My favorite thing to order is the yellow curry. It’s honestly my behest go to food whenever I’m not feeling well. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality plus it’s reasonably priced. The Thai tea is never too sweet it’s perfect as are their sauces. Good job! Great food!
Best thai food in Boulder!
A Boulder classic. Absurdly good drunken noodles and curries, appetizers are delicious and every dish comes with enough for two meals making it awesome value.
Delicious Thai curries ! Easy parking and good price as well ! Staff is friendly and food is served quick for lunch.
They do 1-5 on spiciness, 2 is medium, so I tried 3 and I can tell you , you probably won't want 4 and definitely don't want level 5 lmao. Had the pad thai and the steamed thai dumplings, very good!
i just got a delivery and tried the chicken satay. it's dried out, overcooked and inedible. As well, the Tom Kha soup with chicken is sub par. The chicken must be from the same batch. dried out, difficult to chew and inedible. Super disappointed in this restaurant and would like a refund.
Not sure if the bad reviews are just bored people or what. The papaya salad is almost as good as we’ve had in Thailand! Food were horrible, order for 13 people, they all say the same. they need to figure out to make food way better than this.
Disappointed with this order. Honestly dogs wont want to eat who ever made these foods for us.
Both dished we ordered had no flavor or taste. It was very bland
You call this Thai food? Pad Thai sauce was ketchup and sriracha mix and overcooked noodles. Beef in curry was tough to chew. Chicken satay was like shoe leather. Btw, clearly not a Thai chef in the kitchen.
I don’t understand the glowing reviews of this place. I had a shrimp massaman curry, the flavours were off, the rice was dry, the shrimp were so dry, overall it was pretty terrible unfortunately
Fantastic fast service, delicious cashew chicken and amazing prices. Got an appetizer and a full plate of food for what some food trucks charge for one item. Insanely good
Food was great the 3 spice level is perfect for heat and taste balance. Great customer service, amazing appetizers and entrees were even better. I was blown away by this place. Very good prices too!
This place was fire. For like $30 I was able to get way too much food.
My family loves this place ! We visit from Louisiana every year and eat here every time we come in.
Tasty food... way over their head of service as take out rules. Very friendly and a good try yet must improve on those seated for dinner
We waited for a good hour .. yet again, tasty and good value.
Always get take out from here. Best Thai food in Boulder, green curry, pad thai and chicken Thai dumplings are my go to's.
Perhaps the best curry ive ever had. Every time i get Thai elsewhere, Im disappointed because it ain’t Buddha. Hope they open a location in Denver
A nice spot. Great appetizers. It's kind of tucked away and low-key. Though I don't care for the mall it's in, as the parking lot is rough and it's not always easy to get out of. The staff is nice and it's a good option for a hole in the wall spot most people haven't heard of. They also deliver. I liked the crispy parcels and thought most of the fried stuff was really good.
If you are in the Boulder area, check this place out. Decent prices an excellent food.
I come here quite often. I decided to request no zucchini today because I don’t eat it whenever it comes and figured I’d just get rid of it. However after picking up my food it had zucchini.
Food is still good and flavorful but it’s annoying have to pick around it after requesting it not be there.
Best Thai curries you can find in boulder. Quick and quality service and the to-go portions are extremely generous. I go here at least twice a month, highly recommend!
I think the description on google fits well. Modest go-to. Food was good, and honestly I think that is good enough.
Good place for Thai good in Boulder - especially like their super combo appetizer...
Best Thai food friendly environment great service ….❤️❤️❤️❤️
Solid place. We order from here more than anywhere else. And have started to dine there sometimes. It's good!
Great Thai food in a relatively quiet shopping center. We've been here several times and never needed to wait, yet the food was fantastic and the wait staff were attentive. I honestly can't believe this place isn't more popular!
Always good food, I got the Buddha chowmein and Buddha fried rice.
Great Thai food!
Their Panang Curry is super silky and tasty!
They use lots of veggies and the favors are super rich!
I do not see myself eating Thai food someplace else.
Pretty descent
THE BEST fried rice in town!
Amazing food! Amazing people! I love this place. If you like noodles I would recommend the drunken noodles solid 10/10
Their attention to detail and commitment to quality service are impressive.
Panag curry (level 4 spice was perfect) was good overall but the soup that came with lunch was just okay.
While I was here 2 people complained about service (1) and food (1)
Always a great experience after years of eating here. Best brown rice Ive had, love the squid, and love the banana desserts. Staff is always busy, but friendly. They raised prices so a tea, entree and app is a little over 20, so I dont get to visit often, but it's a staple none the less.
I enjoyed my pad Thai! Could have done without the spring rolls.
Service killed this visit though, everything was slow and they seemed to be prioritizing the influx of to-go orders
one of the best, most consistent spots. i highly recommend the pad see yew
We love Thai food & have often gone here,; but this time our Drunken Noodles had only a ketchup flavor, & the meat was like shoe leather! We won't be going here again! They've lost their ability to make Thai food! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY & TIME! AVOID THIS PLACE IN BOULDER, IF YOU'RE WANTING THAI FOOD!
We came in just before closing and the food was great and service was good.
Delicious
Not really Thai curry. But amazing Persian curry. Believe changed the name so people would come. Great food.
Great quantity for an entree and super delicious noodles. Loved the pad see ewe.
very good food and drinks. tahi Ice tea and thai ice coffee 👍 . all the food is great 😊
def recommend this spot!
Absolutely delicious. The red curry is soooo good and the portion is plenty!
I love their food everytime i visit my inlaws in colorado i go to this place.. so authentic
This is my neighborhood Thai place and it is delicious. They also have outdoor seating so we can bring our dog. Their food is so far the best Thai we’ve had in Boulder. The only caveat is that they are extremely busy with to-go orders and service can lag a bit due to this.
This is the best Thai food I have had! The staff are also really friendly.
Very good Thai food, great price and portions
Can’t go wrong with the crispy parcels and pad see eyew. They get quite a bit of hate in these reviews but they’re always slammed with take out orders so they must be doing something right!
Oh my gosh the Tom Yum was so sweet! Almost couldn’t eat it at all. Never this sweet in Thailand. Not good.
I think there was bad coconut oil in the soup that I ate because I was sick as a dog for two days, hitting the bathroom every 20 minutes.
Excellent place quality food, and nice people!
I have to say by far the worst Thai food ever. The drunken noodles had a sweet ketchup like tasting sauce. Traditional drunken noodle has basil. This dish had absolutely none. The noodles weren't cooked all the way through. Don't waste your money on this disgusting place. Wait staff was friendly on a positive note.
The food is amazing!
They have lots of vegan options, and understand that vegan means no fish sauce. Everything except for the dumplings are gluten free!
What a humble service! Loved the folks here. Always smiling. Best Thai food in town!
Food is awesome friendly environment…….
Fast Togo service….
I’ve been going here for a few years, I used to only get the chicken pad thai, which I love. I’d rate it like 7 or 8/10. Tonight I tried the Chicken Penang Curry. THIS IS IT! So freaking good, I’d say like 9.5/10! My partner got the chicken drunken noodles, would give that a 6 or 7/10, but still really good, just not quite the amazing flavor as the curry! Nibbling on it now. Awesome portions for the price. I’ll probably get 2, maybe even 3 meals out of my dish
They don’t mess around with heat, I like spicy and 2 on my curry was as spicy as I’d want, partner got a 3 and it was around the same spicy tbh
Just so-so.
The worst pad thai I ever had. If you want to make good thai food, use proper ingredients. Adding ketchup as a substitute is gross. Also my order is wrong. Waste of money.
This wasn’t Thai food. Had the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles and both were drenched in this sweet sticky tomato sauce.
Whether we eat in or take out, the food is always delicious. Best pad Thai I’ve ever had, the curries are creamy and the perfect amount of spice. The larb salad with chicken is our go to. We love it here :)
food is delicious but very spicy. I got a 2 and I like spicy food, but it was still very spicy.
I go to Buddha Thai 3 times a week. Their pad Thai is out of this world, and the rest of the menu is both authentic and delicious. Portion sizing is amazing which is great for boulder. One entree is easily two meals. The staff is incredibly friendly, I understand it’s a family Haines and that reflects in the quality of the food and service. 10/10 for food and overall experience
I didn’t eat here so I can’t speak to the food. Guy told me it was dinner at 2:30 after making me wait alone in the restaurant for 10 minutes while he took a phone call. No thanks.
Delicious food! This has become our go to Thai food place :)
Good food, great service, reasonable prices. We were a party of six who all had something different and at different spice levels (1,2,4 and 5) and everyone really enjoyed their food.
Had the Cashew Nut entree, with a "3" spice level, and it was honestly one of the best and most delicious meals I've had in quite a while. Very reasonable prices, also!
Excellent food and service. I had the Buddha Fried Rice.
Consistently good
My husband asked me to submit a review because it was the "best Pad Thai" he's ever had. We also ordered the drunken noodle with beef, and the beef was high quality and not overly greasy or tough like you get at some other places. We also had to order the Panang Curry because so many other people mentioned it in reviews. This dish is a MUST order. I usually always order yellow curry but this was so much better. We ordered this as takeout through Uber Eats and the portion sizes were large and we were very satisfied.
Combination Fried Rice is different than most. Pineapple and cashews interesting choice! Going to have Buddha noodle next time
I don’t even live in Boulder anymore, but needed to let the world know that Buddha Thai is the worlds greatest with the INCREDIBLE tom kha. no where compares! We miss y’all!
The best Thai food around and the service is great
Too small portions for the price.
They were friendly and professional. The Basil Chicken I bought was delicious, and the Iced Thai Coffee was perfect.
If you love Thai give Buddah a try! I love their Pad Thai medium with chicken. It's bursting with flavors and is made from scratch right before your eyes. They are family owned and everything is made with Love. You can taste the heart and soul of their food. For the past two years since I discovered this hidden gem, I still find myself driving all the way to Boulder to cure my cravings. It's that good, yes... they offer to go as well as dine in. There is a parking lot... oh and it's free to park. The staff is friendly and helpful if unsure what to order.
It's really good sometimes. I think it was depends who's cooking most times the food is great but every once in a while i get my drunken noodles and they are ketchupy and sweet
The pad thai, chicken satay, and egg rolls were bland and dry. Best to go to another place.
Months later, we're still talking about this meal: loved, loved it!
Doug’s Boulder Thai!!! Lmao… Really freaking good Thai food! Honestly all the Thai food in Boulder has been less than optimal that I have tried anyway… I always try the Pad Thai at a new restaurant to gauge I’d it’s worth coming back.. when I ordered the Pad Thai the waitress really pushed me to branch out and try the Drunken Noodle. I’m really stubborn and set in my ways but glad I took her recommendation… sooo FIRE!!! 🔥 you won’t be dissatisfied, give it a shot! I’m glad we did. We will certainly be back to try the rest of the menu. We’ll prices too!
Been going to this place since 2012....wander a way to find something else....and end up going back.
I’ve ordered from here many many times and I have always had a great experience. The food is delicious every single time and all of the people who work there are so so sweet. The portions are good too and the food comes out quick.
Best Thai food I’ve found in the area! They have good portion sizes and great flavors. I’d recommend their crispy parcels before your main dish. Always have had great experiences dining in or ordering take out.
Not so good. Drunken Noodles was 90% noodles with a smattering of chicken and vegetables. I won't be back.
My husband got violent food poisoning after eating here. It was so bad I thought we might have to go to the hospital.
This time bought a fried rice and a green curry. Fried rice was so tasteful. Green curry was a bit too sweet even with a spice level of 3.
The absolute best Penang curry we have ever had in our lives, outside of Thailand. Amazing crispy parcels (crab cheese wontons) and the pad Thai was excellent too. Service was friendly and efficient. An absolute gem in north boulder.
Really good food and service. Reasonable prices.
I've been coming to this place for years and I've gotta say its still hands down the best Thai restaurant in boulder. the staff is super friendly and the food amazing. Best curry I've ever had! My go to is usually pad Thai with chicken 4 star spice level and a Thai ice tea. This place is fire!!
Oh my god the pannang curry is TO DIE FOR. I dont want to leave because I'm savoring every single bite. I love the amount of spice too it's perfect. I love how they have wine too I feel so fancy lol. The wine pairs surprisingly well with the curry! 10/10 I will definitely be back. This place is really cozy. I would choose a table instead of a booth next time because I think the table is too small I have to lean forward to eat. The food and service is spectacular. The portions are perfect too imo. Definitely check this place out!!
We were pleasantly surprised! Staff was very friendly, they accommodated our diets/allergies, and the food was great! My very picky husband loved his pad thai and the pad see ew was delicious.
The restaurant itself could use some updating but don’t let that deter you. We plan on returning.
Honestly the pad Thai taste nothing like any other pad Thai I’ve eaten before which is extremely disappointing even if it was good. It’s not! Please don’t serve me warm water without ice on a hot day. No air conditioning first and last time here
Great tasting food, huge portions
Best Thai food in boulder hands down! Crispy parcels and chicken Penang curry are our favorites. Xtra chicken for only a couple dollars makes it easily a meal for two.
Always good, always spicy and always lots of food
Pad Thai is very good here. Not super oily. Comes with lots of chicken, Brussels sprouts and peanuts. Good portion size as well.
First ever resturant review here. Been a frequent customer of Buddha Thai for over a year at this point, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone that asks. It has the best prices when compared to folsom thai, aloy thai or thai avenue (all of which I used to frequent before trying buddha), has the fastest prep times while maintaining their staple quality that has kept me coming back. Come in at lunch and they give you a free sweet and sour soup. Just another reason to give buddha Cafe a try. Major shout out to the owner who I see working his *** off every time I come in! Not sure what to get? Try the drunken noodles or pad thai which I'd recommend to litteraly anyone.
The experience was excellent
An the food is to die for so delicious
Oh my gosh this was great. Number 4 spice level. Just right for me. Bit of (runny nose just how I like) had a hard time choosing what to eat. I had drunken noodles. Wife had curry.
This place is some of the best Thai around. Consistently yummy!
What happened?
I've been coming here for years because of how much I loved this place, tonight for whatever reason it just wasn't good. Especially the spring rolls, I don't know what they changed or did to them but they were half the size they used to be and filled with this awful gross mush. The other two dishes were fine, but still not as good as they used to be. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because I know this place can be good and every place is going to have bad nights. Hope this isn't the new normal for Buddha.
Update: My partner's dish make him really sick. I don't know when we're going to try Buddha again, but tonight it was very extremely off. Lost my favorite go to place.
Food was delish, but they mixed up the spice levels between the two dishes we ordered which was disappointing.
Best food in town.
Actually ruined my night how long I had to wait for my food after I showed up when it was supposed to be ready..
I waited for 30min after my food was supposed to be ready… I’ve heard it tastes great but I’ve waited before for a while too….
I was hopeful, since my friend suggested this place. The place is clean, and the food was good, especially the papaya salad. I asked for Thai hot curry, and my dish wasn't even medium. So, if you're looking for heat, this either isn't your place, or you need to make really sure they understand what you want.
Other than that, it's good enough.
We ordered a few times before, and it was always great.
Today, was the first time we dinned in and it was a bit disappointing. The service was slow and the food was just okay. BTW; We ordered fried rice & pad see ew.
3 of the 4 items we received were good. Unfortunately the drunken noodles were very very dry. The noodles were stiff, the beef was dry and flaky (almost like jerky). It honestly tasted like it was cooked 2 or 3 days ago and microwaved.
I’ve had drunken noodles at 20 restaurants and this ranks the worst. It was not edible. I ordered it take out (and arrived very quickly) but had I ordered it in the restaurant I would have returned it. Instead I threw it in the garbage.
Their fried rice and Thai ice tea is really yummy!
The best Thai food I’ve found. Plus, portions are incredibly generous and the staff is always very kind
I don't understand why this place has good reviews. This was the most bland, flavorless pork pad Thai I've ever had in my life. Ordered medium spicy, but literally no spice, or flavor, even in the pork.
Best thai food I've ever had anywhere in the U.S. the food is consistantly top quality and their fried tofu is top tier. Bravo!
Good vegan options. I love the green curry.
Very nice people and good food
Tasty!
Been going here to get pizza since I was a kid and they still got it. BIG slices. New York style pizza. (And yes don't worry Boulder they do gluten free)
So good! Best Thai I've had in Colorado
I haven't been here since before covid. Still a great little Thai place.
Tasty Thai, make sure to specify your spice level!
Food is amazing!
Walked in the door and got annihilated by smoke from the grill. It was overwhelming but we still tried to dine in. However shortly after we found out that all of the vegetarian options were made with fish or shrimp sauce se we left. Needless to say we smelt like fried fish sauce for hours
One of my favorite places in Boulder. Get the green curry.
Good value, tasty food, quick service.
Fenominol. Scrumptious, hit the spot. Extremely good curry. Huge portions for the price, easily 2 meals. Love the thickness of the curry. Really great chicken portions. The guy explained the curries well! I ordered a red curry 4/5 hotness. This place is easily the best curry I've been to ever. Very creamy curry sauce! Love it
