My boyfriend and I wanted to try a new Thai place and gave this place a try and we absolutely loved it. We got pumpkin curry drunken noodle and chicken satay and were blown away we love spicy and asked for extra spicy and they delivered. We will be going back and highly recommended it!
This was our first time here and only our second time having Thai food. We LOVED it and we will definitely be back. Reasonably priced, delicious and, the staff was exceptional. We got the #5, garlic pepper chicken and, yellow curry. Both were amazing. Beware the spice!
I got a #1 spice level and it was intense but I am a big baby with spicy food anyway. We added some extra coconut milk to the mix and it was perfect! Our guest ordered the garlic pepper chicken and said it was delicious and not spicy at all.
I ordered my food to go and couldn't decide whether to get the tom kah or the pumpkin curry. The sweet lady on the phone recommended pumpkin curry and added some spice and WOW! This is my new favorite dish! Full of vegetables and lots of shrimp. (My daughter LOVED the shrimp)The flavors were rich and hit the spot that I needed for feeling under the weather! Thank you sopa Thai! I will be back and maybe next time for a date night with the husband!
If you're coming here just for drinks and entertainment, this might be the place for you. However, dining here is terrible. Our food took an eternity to prepare, and the quality was mediocre at best. The price didn't match the portions or quality—it was a stark difference. The curry was overly watery and lacked that basic and traditional Thai base. Two of the noodle dishes we ordered tasted identical. I think one of them was the pad see ew; it had little to no flavor and tasted like pasta noodles more than your traditional Thai rice noodles. The garlic pepper tofu was also disappointing—soggy and completely unseasoned. Our team was quite hesitant to eat here after reading about a customer finding a baby cockroach in their soup, but we had limited options in the area. We definitely won't be returning to this restaurant ever; we’d prefer to grab a sandwich instead.
Mediocre, copycat, and overpriced—this Thai-“inspired” bistro doesn't offer anything special at all. The seasoning and flavor were extremely minimal, making this the blandest Thai meal we’ve ever had. The fried rice had hardly any shrimp, and it lacked taste too. The Pad Thai resembled a sticky mass of overly sweet noodles soaked in maple syrup!—unappetizing. The fish was overcooked, and the service was extremely slow. Spare yourself from a terrible experience—take a drive and savor authentic Thai cuisine elsewhere.
1st time here and 1st time trying Thai food. Although I don't have anything to compare it too, this place has amazing food!! I was empressed. The waitress was very nice and they have live music. A friend wanted to grab lunch here and I don't shy away from new dining experiences. I am not at all knowledgeable on Thai food and appreciated the lengthy education from our server. I ordered the Red Chili and would order it again, but I want to sample the other menu items.
Had the pineapple fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was good I would definitely buy it again. The fried rice had 4 shrimp on top. The rice had no flavor to it. I also had the mango sticky rice, it was ok. Before I give up on this restaurant I want to try their green curry, which is my favorite.
Good food, fast service, live music. Nice place!

Delicious green chicken curry and pot stickers @ happy hour price. Great service. Highly recommend
Today was my first time coming here and I absolutely enjoyed everything about this place, the food, the service, and the restaurant in general. Best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to
Slow service. We waited a whole hour for the appetizer and then along came the main course. The food was bland no authentic Thai flavor extremely disappointed that we waited so long for bland food

Pricey, midgrade Thai food
If I could give it a 0 I would. Place looks clean but food is terrible. Everything we ordered was very very bland, worst pad thai I've ever had. The beef noodle soup is bland the fried rice was edible. Portions are not big.
The live music was great, but the service and food were just ok for the price we paid.
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING
I'm Asian and I have had a lot of Thai food and I have to say that this is easily the worst Thai food I've ever had.
The portions are small, the ingredients were very cheap and surprisingly flavorless.
Honestly took a few bites and the drunken noodles tasted like tomato sauce? Absolutely gross.
The prices are way too high given how awful the food is.
👎👎 I would not recommend this place and with the prices for what I got, I spent $40 on some tofu and some drunken noodles.
Even though my order was, to go, I still tipped $5 but I kind of regret that.
Definitely pass by, don't stop.
Having said that, the staff was very friendly and polite but not worth the money.
Why do you keep calling me Sopa Sutton in your response? I have never owned this restaurant or any restaurant. You either have me confused with someone else, or this is a lame attempt to turn your disappointing establishment onto me in some weird damage control.
Excellent
Tonight they had a live band there it was wonderful the food is always fantastic try their fresh spring rolls
Great place on a shady street.
Lost a few points with me only because they bought my food to me ice cold. I had to send it back.
Our favorite Thai restaurant in the area.
Vanessa is a GREAT waitress! Really fast food, Vanessa sat me at a table and got my order quickly, food tastes and SMELLS great 😍 Spices are really spicy 😂
JUST BOOMB!
This place is amazing ! The food and service are excellent. I love the yellow curry and can eat the whole portion! I go here often. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great place to eat.. we visit Sopa's every time we visit Yuba City; our "go - to" place.. efficient service, consistently reliable & tasty food.. "feels good" atmosphere..
It was clean, spacious, and not too busy when I showed up about 6:00. Lots of parking across the street on the side street.
Larb Gai was good and was as expected, a thick slice of cabbage as a garnish.
Som Tam was a little different than I'm used to. It was on the citrus side instead of the sweet side which I like. I didn't detect much fish sauce, but the biggest surprise, and a welcome one, was the amount of tomato they added that spread all through the dish giving it a much different taste than virtually all the som tam I've had before.
The spice level goes 1 to 6. I like hot food but decided to start with 3 here and that was plenty spicy for me.
Stumbled upon them by accident when I was driving through from school in Sacramento and looking for a big fat spicy tasty burrito.
Glad I decided to try them!!!
Only item I ordered, they didn’t ask the spice level I wanted on my mixed veggie red curry but it’s perfectly spiced.
Huge to go container and reasonably priced. Comes with a side of rice.
Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Parking on the street wasn’t hard to find but some of the other drivers in area very rude.
Def my new fave Thai restaurant since my fave in Chico closed.
Only not positive remark I have to say is that I wish their mixed veggies had mushrooms too. I love the mixture of veggies it does have though! (Carrots, zucchini, green and red perfectly sliced bell peppers, cabbage, broccoli, bamboos shoot slivers)
Thank you for warming my belly with such a tasty meal that I’ll be munching on for the rest of the day and tomorrow!
Dust on ceiling fans and wall decor and everything else. Food was ok-ish as in I have had better but it didn't make me sick so that's a plus. Waitress did a great job and was very pleasant. The price was decent
Always consistent! Best pumpkin curry ever! My favorite for 15 years
The food is so yummy, just be careful on the level of spicy. I always ask who is cooking because I am a whimp when it comes to food being too spicy. Our waitress has been Kaylee (so sorry if I spelled it wrong), and she is so sweet and speedy.
Great food, consistent and delicious. Lots of options. They have live music on some Friday nights, very fun and lively. Good drinks too!
Love this place! We ate in. The food is so amazing and full of flavor. Live music, great atmosphere, friendly staff. The food came hot and everything had a unique flavor palette. Bursting with flavor! Everything was clean, lots of TVs on the wall.
Really good Thai food in the middle of downtown Yuba City, good option for quick service and pretty good food. The Thai hot is for real here!
One of my favorite places in the area for any occasion.
One of my favorite local places since it’s opening 20 years ago
Thai tea was sour taste. Thai coffee was gross. Chicken Gai Yang was overprice for small portions for 5 smalls pieces for $17.00, rice wasn't cook all the way, you can still eat the hard rice. Will not buy again. Thai boat was ok. The sever didn't bring us water.
The least amount of seasoning and flavor ever experienced with Thai cuisine. Does the chef even taste the food before they send it out? Super weird because everyone raves about the place. Sub par at best.
I ordered about $50 worth of food for my friend and I for lunch. The food was absolutely awful. Especially, the Pad Thai I ordered. It was super bland and gross. It was hardly edible. I did not even finish it. The spring rolls tasted like something was going bad inside them. I think it was the veggies. They tasted old. I literally ate less than a 1/3 of my food because I thought it may make me sick. They did not even include utensils and declined to let us have our order to dine in.
For a lunch of $50 that I didn't even eat, I should be given a full refund. We wasted our lunch hour getting this food and it was super disgusting. They didn't even include sauce for the fresh spring rolls!
So good the best Thai food ever
Kayla’s service was so patient and welcoming I will be back! Chicken asparagus and drunken noodles were amazing can’t wait to try new items off the menu next time I come
Delicious food, great service!!
Excellent food! We had to ask a few times for some extra stuff, like sugar for a sweet tea and spoons.
the yellow curry is excellent
Good service ,food lightly seasoned to my liking. Very bland in my opinion.
If it’s possible I would leave zero stars. This was the worst Thai food in my life!!! Never ever again. The pad Thai was white the fried rice was white with no seasoning. They did ask me how spicy I want it. First sign that it sucks!
Went 2 listen 2 the band Industrial Drive
Hecka good ..Nice crowd..🎤🎶🥁🎸
Today review- 3 star- we werent aware of the kitchen closing at 9:15pm
We walk in at 9:10 and were expecting to be seated and dance but instead were met with attitude from cashier about kitchen times. Most places offer a rush order. But that's OK really.
What hurt the comfort of this place was the attitude. Bad attitudes ruin business fast.
Old review- 5 star
The lounge has live music most days and great food.
Their prices are reasonable and the environment is great to sip on wine.
We go often.
Amazing Thai food!! We especially love the Yellow Curry & Pineapple fried rice!
Live music every Wednesday night! So fantastic!
I keep trying to like Sopa Thai, but they make it so hard.
We have patronized Sopa Thai multiple times and most of the time the service and food are good, but we have never had Kaitlin's Chicken that is edible, although we have ordered it several times hoping we will have a great experience as it is one of their specialties. We even had a lovely family dinner (large party) several weeks ago, and what we ordered was good. Fast forward to tonight, we ordered 4 of the same items we had at our family dinner and none of them were the same, or enjoyable & tasty for that matter. You could even see in one of the dishes how the rice was not seasoned evenly with the yellow curry powder: multiple lumps of just plain white rice. No plum sauce for Shrimp Rolls, instead more of a sweet chili Thai sauce. It's like our family dinner got the "A" team kitchen crew and tonight was the "B" team. Very inconsistent experience.
Had the shrimp fried rice and chicken curry. Very good.
1st time here and 1st time trying Thai food. Although I don't have anything to compare it too, this place has amazing food!! I was empressed. The waitress was very nice and they have live music. Visiting from out of town. Great food, atmosphere was awesome. Loved the menus and love music.
Had Ped Tang, and seafood bowl born were excellent. The only downside was paying extra for rice.
The fried bananas are excellent as well.
I love everything about this place but it takes forever to get drinks there. Not sure if they need more bartenders/servers or to train them better. The owner is extremely sweet. They have great live music and it's just a wonderful place.
Ive never been to a thai spot that had a dj playing mtv's top 25 from 95, lol food was good, service was not so good.
Took forever for to get food . Food quality was not that good service was horrendid and will never eat there again
Great authentic Thai food w a full bar!
Food was amazing!! The yellow chicken curry was to die for and my husband has the sizzling asparagus..We really enjoyed it very much and will be returning..We only live a couple blocks down and unfortunately we haven't tried it sooner .Very attentive server as well .thank you guys ,it was wonderful
Very cute place. I ordered the Mango sticky rice. It was very delicious. But I wish they had coconut milk so i can pour it all over the dessert. It's still delicious and I will come back to order actual food.
Bland down to the fried rice
Love it
Whoooaaaaaaaa!
I love this spot. Indoor and outdoor seating. Located next to soooo many shops. The food has soooo much flavor!!!! They also have alcohol beverages. Nice bar!
When you’re done dining take a walk down Plumas st.
The food was great, and very friendly staff. I had the "Drunken Noodles" and it was amazing 👏🏾
Every time the food is spot on to our liking, very good Thai food!
The food was good, the service was very slow. I don't mind waiting for food to cook and such, please take your time there. However.. I would like water refills while I wait and also while I eat. 🤷♀️
The food was not good at all .. atmosphere is ok.. they need to work on the food more don't seem like Thai food
Great bar and great food. There is a lot of variety here and different levels of heat. Wings are underrated as they are fantastic. Fresh veggies and great vibe.
Delicious food, excellent service!
@TylerRich.. What do u know about this place. I hear you perform here. 👏 👏 👏
We had the fresh shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious as always
Sopa Thai is a very popular and cozy restaurant. They have a great menu and if like your meal spicy this is your opportunity to get fired up!
A lil expensive....absolutely delicious tho.
Great food n music best thai food in town
Had the pineapple fried rice and the cucumber salad. The salad was good I would definitely buy it again. The fried rice had 4 shrimp on top. The rice had no flavor to it. I also had the mango sticky rice, it was ok. Before I give up on this restaurant I want to try their green curry, which is my favorite.
It was Delicious I Probably won't order Crab again on the Drunken noodles taste more like can of Tuna the meat . But the Duck is Amazing . It did also take about 10min for the waiter to come back to take our order after getting drinks .
Always have had great service coming here. Very accommodating. Nice quiet atmosphere. Best food in town!!!! My go-to place!
Pad Thai is NOT a dessert dish. It should have a touch of sweetness at most. Any decent thai restaurant should be able to crank out this staple and have it be awesome. This one is just kind of nasty. Even the green curry was sweet.
Wasn't as good as Nevada City Sopa... spice was off on the Drunken Noodles 🍜
I love this place
Food was great, first time there. The coconut red was amazing. The spring rolls were also great. We were there on a Wednesday and there was a band there. Great vibe and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Good food, great entertainment and very friendly staff.
We were hesitant to eat at Sopa due to the past reviews from years ago. The most recent reviews were better so we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did. I have to tell you this place is amazing. Some of the best Thai food we've had. Each dish was super fresh, crunchy vegetables and just enough spice. Tons of leftovers too which we cannot wait to dig into. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. I am already thinking about our next visit and all the yummy dishes we will try next! Do yourself a favor and just go and eat here. You won't regret it!
Inconsistent.
Waited at our table for 10 mins, had to ask for a server.
Server was fine once she came over.
Food was inconsistent as well. Some meat very dry (chicken satay, pork ribs), some was fine. Fried tofu was very dry. Sauces for appetizers were good, egg rolls were good.
Flavor was lacking on all dishes for my taste.
My daughter had the duck fried rice, and it was good.
Eggplant is fantastic!
I am from the bay area visiting family here in YC. I put in a big takeout order and had a good experience overall. Everyone was impressed with the quality of YC's thai food and we will definitely order from here again for family dinners.
Pros:
1) The young staff is excellent and friendly, all the kids have great customer service skills.
2) The food! The pumpkin curry exceeded my expectations and yellow curry, pad thai and pad see ew (veggie) were all also good. While the spicy eggplant had no trace of spice, it was a good mild mixed veggie dish.
Cons:
1) Management needs to put a proper menu onto Google Maps. I almost didn't order at all because of this, but my local family convinced me to call in. So I called and was directed to Facebook of all places to find a menu. I had to use someone else's account and found the restaurant's latest post was from 2018 and the listed website sopathai.net is a complete scam site with no actual menu and huge security vulnerabilities. This is completely unacceptable from what was actually a good and proper restaurant and is the reason I took off 1 star. Owner please update your menus online and get a proper website!! I have added pics of their takeout menu here for others like me who might skip the restaurant altogether due to this lack of basic information online.
2) Please have staff read big phone orders back to the caller. We missed 2 pumkin curries, but it was no big deal as it was fixed quickly by staff.
God was fantastic. Had the chicken stir fry and jasmine rice. Very yummy. My server was fantastic also.
Great entertainment. Need more staff, but the food was fantastic.
How can you screw up green curry? I should have read the reviews first……..This is the first time I’ve ever had a green curry I didn’t like. I was really hungry and in a hurry to get back to work so I ate some of it. It wasn’t awful, just not good at all. It was green….. But didn’t taste like green curry. Strange texture and weird undertaste makes me think they aren’t even using coconut milk.
Excellent service....and the food is great!
Good food. Comedy on the 2nd and 4th wednesday.
Excellent food and service.
The best Thai restaurant in Yuba City. The food is a little plain by my taste, but not bad. Good vegetarian soups. What really keeps me coming back here is the exciting mixed drink selection, late hours, and live music. It's the only live music venue currently on the street, and one of the last bars to close.
Good food and music,great staff
Great food, service was a bit slow but the staff was friendly. Enjoyed Danny Buttacavoli's band. First Saturday of every month.
This is my favorite restaurant in yuba city. The only thing I would be careful about is that they have levels of how spicy to order your food. One time I messed this up and I was in fire lol.. favorites.. pineapple fried rice, chicken snow pea, pumpkin curry, garlic pepper chicken, sizzling asparagus, chicken satay, lemongrass soup is so wonderful in the winter.. I had it fit dinner this week 2 days in a row!
Was good a little expensive
Food was very good, and we will certainly go back again.
Our wait person was not on best form though. Food arrived out of sequence, and with the wrong dishes. We eventually got a wait person who knew what they were doing.
Good authentic Thai food. Wonderful pad thai and Thai ice tea.
The food as well as the service were excellent. I took one of my daughters for dinner and had a great meal.
Consistently great. The staff is always friendly and the Tom Kha is the best for miles!
Good food and friendly.
Sooooo gooood
Awesome space, great band, bomb food!
Really, just one of the worst experiences I've had in a very long. I've literally never walked out of a restaurant until today. Had to wait to be seated. That was fine and could be expected around the dinner hour, but once we were seated (we were pointed to a table) not 1 person came to our table for over 45 minutes. We didn't receive a menu, drinks or water even. Even as we (a family of 4) got up to walk out and were being watched by staff, not a single person said "sorry for the wait" or anything at all for that matter. Worst service I've ever had. Probably won't be back. Thanks for nothing sopa👎
Always yummy
Best Thai food in the Yuba City/Marysville area!
Food excellent., the wait for your food (soup ) was horrendous !! I think they had to go kill & defeather the chicken to put in soup.
Wanton soup. Waited 43 min for our soup order to GO !!
IM SORRY I'm willing to pay
$21.+ for 2 soups but Not
willing to wait that long.
Now you have it !
Good food a little on the pricey side
Really good pad thai
Great food!!
Absolutely amazing food and service!! Highly recommend eating here! We love the Sizzling Garlic Chicken and Asparagus
Fantastic Awesome Food. Service was great.
One my favorite restaurant to go to. Highly recommend.
This place unwittingly gave me something I was allergic to when I specifically asked for it to not be included.
They're trying with minimal staff like most places. So basics like ice in your second drink or your first drink, arrive late. Food hits the 4 stars, save the fried chicken 🍗 dish, it's tasty but dry as a bone & having to clean the veins out of some of our prawns...
The ribs are the best! Great Staff too, Dine in is a plus.
Many of the plates are good for the most part. Lively and fun atmosphere. We go here regularly, despite some long wait times for our food at times (they get really busy). Seating is available on bar side (usually pretty loud Friday/Saturday nights due to live band/karaoke) as well as the non bar side (quieter). If you like your food spicy, as I do, they sometimes forget (about half the time) since they might not get many “Thai hot” spicy requests. Customer service is a hit or miss. Sometimes, they’re good and other times, it’s pretty bad. Hasn’t stopped us from being repeat customers for the time being, since food options around here are so limited.
I really loved this place once upon a time. I was there last week for lunch with my niece. The service was slow and not friendly at all. We waited over 15 min to get a drink. I ordered Pad Thai which is a very simple meal and it was watery and not good at all. The owner never came over once to say hello or ask how the food was.
This was on a slow Saturday afternoon.
There were also people just walking in without masks and no social distancing at all.
They tried to sit us within inches of a group of five in the middle of the seating area. We politely asked to sit at the bar and went to the far back area.
Yuba City never ceases to amaze me, it’s like they stuck in a time warp. Will not be going back again any time soon.
One of my favorite restaurants around the area (most likely because I love Thai food and this is the only Thai restaurant in town). Regardless, most of their dishes are good and service is friendly. Food can sometimes take really long since they’re usually busy.
The service was great! The owner has great stories. Definitely a great date spot in town! Try the pumpkin currey!!
Great good, great people.
I've been to this place three times. Each time wasn't what I expected but I tried giving them a chance. First I ordered the red curry which was not as good as I've had at other Thai restaurants. It wasn't spicy and not the same flavor as red curry from other places. This time I ordered the spicy eggplant meal with hot and sour soup with vegetables to go. The box literally said "spicy eggplant" written on it. I open the box to eat my food and not one hint of spice was added to my "spicy" eggplant. And thats not it, there were only two small pieces of eggplant and the rest was tofu and vegetables. Even my hot and sour soup had no spice flavor to it. This place needs to fix up their Thai dishes. Maybe try going to Sacramento or Roseville and see how they make their food.
I ordered the red curry and it was delicious. It's very large for the portions so you could probably split it with another person.
Good food good service.
Weekend nite bands👍
Live Music! Great food! Cool drinks! Fun atmosphere!
banana food, yellow on the outside, white inside, dont go here if you want real Thai food.
Great food and fair prices. Nice atmosphere!
