The only place you need for really REALLY delicious Thai food! Super generous portions! Our go to is always the yellow curry & pad-see-ew with chicken. Also try their chili garlic edamame while you wait! Soo good! We are faithful customers of Moons Thai food AND service! Good little hole in the wall thai food. I’m gluten-free and they said I can order anything on the menu. I was there for lunch and had Pad-see-EW lunch special. Came with an egg roll that was also safe to eat. I’ll definitely eat here again.

Great Thai food. We go there all the time and bring it in when we have out of town guests. Love the chicken sate, pad thai noodles, crab fried rice, shrimp with mixed veggies. They custom make your spicyness to all dishes. My wife also loves the thai tea. Neil the owner is very nice and so is all the staff.

We dropped by this restaurant for lunch on our way to our next destination. It had excellent ratings and we were craving for Thai food. It is a very small, casual restaurant with limited seatings. It is close to the freeway and in an old shopping area. It’s good that they had lots of parking. We had to order in the front and they provide paper plates. We had seafood pad see-ew and pork massamun. They give good portions and the dishes were delicious.

If you like Thai food, you NEED to go here. They make the BEST Pad See Ew I have ever had in my life, hands-down. Delicious! The mango sticky rice is positively delightful, as well.

Service is fantastic. Everyone is friendly, and FAST. We placed an online order for takeout, and it was so hot and fresh that we had to actually let it cool down for a minute before eating.

I have been excited to try out this new restaurant since I first saw they were opening. I can tell you it was worth the wait!

I ordered the garlic pepper with chicken and a bowl of wonton soup. Both are extremely flavorful!

Service was quick and very friendly! Go support this new business, you will be happy that you did!

We had Tom Yum soup, Khao Sui and Crab Fried Rice. All the food was amazing but if we were pushed to choose our favorite, it would be the Khao Sui.

Enjoyed the Pad-Thai, basil fried rice. Big portions and large shrimp. Also had the pork gyoza and egg rolls. Have enough left over for dinner

Great find in Ventura. Large dishes of super tasty food at reasonable prices, with friendly attentive service! What more could you ask for? Go hungry, portions are large. I would avoid the fried spring rolls, everything else was AMAZING!

Stopped by before a show at the music hall. Had the fried chicken, Kai Tod, and Pad Thai to go. The employees were working hard on lots of orders, and were very kind even though it was busy. This was the best Thai food I've ever had! Flavorful and huge portions. I will make this place part of my permanent restaurant rotation in the Ventura area.

10 STARS - GREAT FOOD - LARGE SERVINGS!
The setting is cafeteria like with paper plates and plastic utensils but none of that matters - the food to fabulous!

My husband and I drove up from Orange County, and came here for dinner before a concert at the Ventura Music Hall. We came ready to have a sit-down dinner, but the space is DEFINITELY MORE FOR PICK-UP.

Further, the plates were mostly paper, and there was no alcohol. I'm not upset, I just wish I had known beforehand what to expect. The food was pretty good, but we felt rushed to allow others to use our table in the limited space, and then ate too fast and felt sick.

We then had tons of extra time before the concert - because, again, it is a quick, pick up spot, so we ended up going to another restaurant for drinks, and to kill more time. Hopefully this review will help someone else coming from out of town re what to expect! We would eat here again, but maybe for lunch, or takeout. Thanks!

I have celiac’s, and I have a severe reaction to gluten. I was told that their curries were gluten-free after asking many different questions. Unfortunately, I had a pretty severe reaction to the curry would not recommend this restaurant if you have any type of gluten intolerance or food allergy.

I'm hooked on Thai food. It seems like most towns now have Thai restaurants, but few have really good, authentic Thai places. Moons is the real deal. This place is awesome: intensely flavorful, good portions and reasonably priced. We got our food to go and everything was delicious and would be ordered again: green curry, Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, pad kra pow with a fried egg, chicken larb. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Just plan ahead. The place gets really busy and a to-go order may take an hour to be ready. Worth the wait.

Good papaya salad, they make it spicy when requested! Very happy. Just dropped in for that and basic pad thai. Did not disappoint.

Food was good overall but the price was pretty steep. For 3 people we spent over $70! And the space itself is very lack luster, the drink selection was pretty terrible. We ordered from Moons Thai recently because our regular Thai place has been plagued with issues. It was DELICIOUS. Portions were generous and flavors were so good. I ordered online and asked for my dish to be gluten-free in the special instructions section. They actually wrote “gluten-free” on my take out container, which made me confident they paid attention. (I don’t have Celiac disease so I would definitely talk with them directly if you have a serious allergy). We all decided that Moons would be our new go-to for takeout.

I consider myself a Thai food aficionado. Often times I'm too much in a hurry to cook for myself and so I try to pick up something healthy. I have eaten in many of the Thai restaurants in Ventura. Moon's Thai may not have great ambiance, but it has fresh vegetables, tasty entrees, and is affordable. At least more affordable than the other places I've tried.

Tried the place for the first time today but it definitely won’t be the last time. We tried it because we wanted Thai and it had a high star rating, it deserves its 5 star rating.

I had drunken noodles with shrimp and my friend had pineapple curry, finished the meal off with Mango Sticky rice, and it’s was all fantastic. I would imagine you could get anything off the menu here and it would be excellent.

Service was personable and friendly, food came out quickly but not so fast fast you to make you think it’s not being made to order. All of the veggies were fresh, the shrimp was cooked perfectly (I hate over cooked shrimp), and the sticky rice was on point.

There’s a question I was asked once, Do you eat to live or do you live to eat? Obviously the second question. Moon has exceeded my expectations I have never ever reviewed a restaurant before. But I must say it’s worth my time, everything from the Wonton soup to the Eggplant Basil stir fry is delicious! It’s sooo good that ever since ate here the first time, Rice by Mama has never seen or will see me ever again!

We placed a very large takeout order for a family birthday celebration. We ordered a variety of food and every item was absolutely excellent! The ingredients are fresh and the tastes are clearly based upon authentic Thai recipes.

The staff was also very helpful in accommodating gluten free entree options, all which were fantastic. We had from ages 8 to 88 and everyone loved their meals! The portions are very generous and many of us packed up lunch for the next day. We all commented how great the food was the next day!

We’ve also eaten in the restaurant several times and the dining area is clean and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel like you are at home!

The food is amazingly delicious! The larb, Drunken Noodles and Massanan so tasty. I highly recommend this place for fresh, delicious and spicy Thai. Good bye to our old Thai place, hello Moon on Thompson Blvd.

Amazing Thai food! I get the pad thai when I try out a new place like this to sort of set a baseline - and it was so so so delicious. Cooked so nicely, and very flavorful in the best way.

Hey there, I just moved to Ventura a few weeks ago. Joined Nextdoor. Someone recommended Moons Thai that recently opened. I am always in search of great Thai food. I work long hours so my son and I unfortunately eat out often. I am so happy I did. Yum! I ordered online quite late. They close at 9PM and I think I put my order in past 8:30. I showed up just before 9:00 and my order was perfect! I ordered my food NOT spicy because my son has stomach troubles. They made a point to ask me if I wanted to spice it up with a side of chili sauce. Yes. Thank you! Everything was spot on for my taste. I ordered the Pad Z ewe. Chicken saute and pork gyoza. Everything tasted fresh. I have not actually been to Thailand so I don't know what is or isn't authentic but this is definitely tasty!
