Thai Food Restaurant
Although Elephant Thai is located in a currently run down shopping area, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful and pleasant with small and large tables. It's a family run business that migrated up from Southern California just last year. The food is fresh and is not excessively seasoned. Definitely a great culinary addition for Vallejo.
I think I just found my favorite restaurant in Vallejo — Elephant Thai Cuisine at 3636 Sonoma Blvd. They just opened 2 months ago after moving their restaurant here from the Los Angeles area.
The food was incredibly flavorful, the service was amazing, and the interior was really nicely decorated.
I got Kao Soi (pictured) which is a Northern Thai curry noodle soup that I haven’t found anywhere else in Vallejo — and this was the best version of it I’ve ever had. We also got the Beef Nam Tok Salad (pictured) which was super herbal and spicy. The Panang Curry (not pictured) was possibly the best we’ve had; it tasted very rich and homemade and not like it was made from a premade curry paste like a lot of places do.
My first time in this Thai restaurant and was blown away by the amazing food they serve. I tried their fried rice, tom yum soup, Thai chicken wings, fried calamari, mixed veggies, and pork belly, and everything was simply delicious. The fried rice was perfectly cooked, and the tom yung soup had just the right balance of sour and spicy flavors. The Thai chicken wings were crispy, and the fried calamari was tender and flavorful. The vegetable deluxe was fresh, and the pork belly was cooked perfectly. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Thai cuisine. I would come back again.
YUMMY! The food was really tasty. Between Korean and Japanese bento. The service was friendly and helpful. THE restaurant is very small. Not many tables. Small and simple menu which I like. Didn't like the to go boxes since we were dine in but not the end of the world. Will definitely go back to try other items.
Beautiful place and even better food. We ordered the fried chicken wings with sweet and sour sauce, crab fried rice and PAAD Kee Mao (drunken noodles). The wings were average but the rice and noodles were the best I’ve had, and I’ve eaten a lot of Thai food. The service was amazing! Everyone was friendly, checked in with us often and kept our water full. When we’re in the area we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Elephant Thai Restaurant in Vallejo. The moment you step in, you’re welcomed by the authentic and elegant Thai-inspired decor, which sets a warm and inviting atmosphere. They start you off with a small Thai soup and a garden salad, a thoughtful touch that enhances the experience.
For my appetizer, I had the Golden Triangle, which was crispy and full of flavor. My main course was the Beef Pad See Ew, and it was absolutely fantastic! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the dish had a rich, authentic flavor.
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner, Mr. Pu personally took my order and made sure everything was perfect. Thank you !
If you’re looking for amazing Thai food, elegant decor, and outstanding service, Elephant Thai is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

The flavors fell short of expectations. The drunken noodles tasted like plain flat noodles with a hint of mild sweetness but lacked the depth and complexity you’d hope for in the dish—very disappointing. While the service was good overall, the food didn’t live up to the mark.
We placed our order for pickup. I got the yellow curry, it was pretty delicious. My other half got pad Thai and it was also good. Thank you, can’t wait to try the other things on the menu in the future

Amazing
Both Appetizers we ordered on 12/04/2024 of fried Chicken wings and fried pork spare ribs all had pink under cooked meat at the bone. The server was told and was showed the pink meat. Instead of apologizing and offering to either comp the dishes since there were un eaten pieces, the server said nothing and walked away with the plates. The server was seen from a distance showing the owner the under cooked meat and again nothing was said to us. It was not until we were finished eating that the owner said a replacement fried chicken wings appetizer was coming out and is cooked this time. The pink meat on my fried spare ribs was displayed on the appetizer plate yet the server and owner ignored it and my ade me pay for it anyway. Now this restaurant can't be trusted since there was no quality control meaning our food was not temperature checked or checked before being served. The owner obviously can't swallow his pride and apologize and the serving staff could not do the same. We could have all gotten sick but instead we left paying for pink meat fried pork ribs and a paid replacement fried chicken wings appetizer. Money and pride just lost my business. Quality went down hill as the restaurant got busy. Take a risk if you eat there because we won't return.
Food was delicious. Wait was a little long which is understandable considering they are a new restaurant. I will try it again
Doordash was off. I called the restaurant to make them aware. I was then told to order online for delivery. I did. Well the order stayed in pending so I called back. I asked who was delivering? The man said, I don't know. Then I asked to speak back to the lady. I told her my husbae would pick the food up. She said ok. My husbae gets to store no food. She claim she used doordash through her email, but my order did not show up on doordash. I paid $97 for wonton, crab fried rice and chicken lettuce wraps!
Don't use online delivery. It is not dd. Food thrown away! Horrible experience. I will not order again

I ordered 4 sticky rice , chicken satay and papaya salad lao style spicy. I only received 2 sticky rice and the papaya salad had no peppers. I miss Maya Thai.
Great food, beautiful decore and super friendly service. Love the Curry Puff and Golden Triangle.
Everything was delicious!!! The red curry was delicious and perfect flavors. We ordered several different entrées. Will definitely be returning!!

The wait staff was friendly and excellent as well as food. I had the crab fried rice, spicy catfish and the fresh rolls with shrimp. All were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place and I will going back to try other things in the menu
Massaman Beef Curry and Penang Chicken Curry sauce was cooked perfectly but the serving is where it fails, there was hardly any meat in the serving, mostly vegetables. About 5-6 pieces of small cut up meat per serving was enough to turn us off. While the ambience and service was great, the food is where we part ways. We will not be going back unfortunately.
Overall, food is Pretty Good, we ordered the Spicy Eggplant, Pad Thai Chicken which is my Favorite, and Fried Rice hmmmm it was so Good!
Friendly Staff and good size Portions.
Beautiful place with great atmosphere, wonderful food and outstanding service.
Great food and friendly employees
Came here last night. Everything was excellent. Arguably, it's a top restaurant in Vallejo/Benicia. Maybe the best overall.
The food was great. I think that garlic beef plate was the best tasting I've ever had. Wonton soup was top-notch, too. The presentation was excellent.
Thai Ice Tea was also surprisingly the best I've had. It may have been a little sweeter than I'd like, but it wasn't chalky like it usually has been at other places. Very good!
Service was also fantastic. I didn't get his name, but the waiter, who I think may have also been the owner, was almost always available, or if he was busy, another guy kept his eye on the floor. Finally, a restaurant that is attentive to their customers!
The atmosphere was nice. There was lots of neat stuff to look at. It's decorated well. I'm not too keen on what Thai culture is like... But it seemed homogeneous and genuine to me in comparison to the other dozen Thai places I've been. It's a nice restaurant. Most importantly, it's comfortable and very clean!
If I had to pick one thing to complain about... I guess I'd say the portion on the garlic beef could have been larger. It wasn't small, but I'm just a hungry 200 lb guy... so there's never enough. Especially when it's so good!
I will definitely be returning!
Service was amazing, atmosphere was beautiful and clean, and every single item we ordered was DELICIOUS! Can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu.
This is the best Thai food I have ever had in my life!!!! The family working there was so incredibly nice 😊I would definitely recommend going here
Best place in Vallejo for Thai food. Since becoming Elephant Thai cuisine and gaining a new owner and new menu, new everything, it’s sooo delicious! Romantic atmosphere but still kid friendly. The service is really great. It’s never busy I think because people don’t realize they reopened and this location has changed hands so many times I’m sure people are hesitant to try it again. But it’s definitely worth going now. While tiny Maya Thai House is missed, Elephant Thai Cuisine is top notch.
This establishment has changed ownership so much. It has been a thai Place for a long time . But this time we have a new Favorite. New name is Elephant Thai Cuisine. The current owner is from my hometown of Riverside and moved here for better opportunities. Let me tell you he is a great addition to the growing businesses in Vallejo. The food is so good and savory. I would recommend for everyone to go and try it. The prices are fair for the quality of food you are getting and the service is amazing. I ordered my favorite the Tom Kah soup and wow it was soooo good. Crab fried rice was so fresh and the Drunken noodles were spicy and savory. I remember when this place was Maya Thai next door and it had a line outside. Well this place is as good as Maya maybe even better. Say Hi to the Owner He is a wonderful and friendly Person. The staff is super attentive and respectful. So nice to come here and get treated like family. So happy establishments like this still exist and take pride in giving exceptional service.
This place is very good and pretty it feels like I’m in Thailand and the food is so awesome! The service is really nice and friendly I really recommend Tom yum noodles soup is so good Is spicy!
Very Good
Very super friendly. Food is fresh and delcious.
Good food, good service. The khow suey was especially good, as was the mango sticky rice. We also tried the Penang curry and the drunken noodles which were both good.
food is delicious. I paid by credit card over the phone, bc my coworker picked up lunch. the bill was $93 and I gave a $20 tip. asked for utensils at least, and plates if they had any. got neither. a fork would’ve been nice
The inside seating is great with vibrant colors and decorations. We got the Tofu/Vegetable Drunken Noodles and Panang Curry, which were both fantastic. Great spot to stop for dinner. The hostess was super nice
Sooo good !
NEVER ORDERING HERE AGAIN!...
My carryout portions for $70 looked like they were children...
So maybe because you looked at me and I said Uber...it was with my AMEX ( was about to give a generous tip till I saw what you gave me..Should I have waited till my ordered was filled before I walked in .... so you would have given me a real portion size... don't know...
but this was ridiculous.....
Now I see why you are "reopening"...
I can't...
And warn all those who might enter before your order is fill
Awesome food , they understand what is vegetarian I.e no egg , no fish sauce and off course no meat , no fish …
This is no longer the MAYA thai house restaurant or the cooks they had! They took a few letters out of the name, and apparently the good tasting food too! The pineapple fried rice used to be amazing here, but when I went when the ownership changed, the rice was more curry tasting than anything. I've never had completely yellow pineapple fried rice. I knew something wasn't right. I'm afraid to try anything else. We need a solid Thai place again here in Vallejo...I'll skip this spot now and drive out of town when I'm craving Thai food.
YUMMY! The food was really tasty. Between Korean and Japanese bento. The service was friendly and helpful. THE restaurant is very small. Not many tables. Small and simple menu which I like. Called on in for my order and it ended up taking an hour just to be told my food was barely being made and the people who had order after me had already gotten their food and left
First time here since the grand reopening. Came in Friday at 5:30pm , was not busy 2 tables when we got there. We ordered and they forgot some of our order, we waited about 5 minutes and nothing so I had to go up and tell them. Then we ordered something additional and took forever. The food is good as when it was maya thai. But they need at least 2 waitresses during the lunch time and dinner. Another table came when we started to eat and it took forever to get their appetizers and we finised eating and they food never came . All they need is more help to rum smoother and faster.
THIS IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!!
GREAT AUTHENTIC FOOD
AND THE TO GO PLATES ARE GREAT SIZES!
PLEASE KEEP THE TO GO ORDERS THESE SIZES THANK YOU 😊
I WOULD 100% RECOMMEND COMING AND TRYING IT
I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE THE FOOD !
First off let me say that my daughter & I really love the food here. There is only 1 problem. The hours online DO NOT match up with the hours they are actually open. I have went here more than once & they were closed but online it says they are open. I just left there. Did not get to eat because they were closed. I really wish the owners would change this so that it is correct.
Please & thank you
Wonderful service & great vegan and vegetarian options !
Great drunken noodles and curries. The green beans and chicken with peanut sauce was delicious.
My family and I have never been disappointed here. The food is good and the staff has always been friendly and sincere.
So disappointed in this place.. Used to be really good food, friendly service but i don't know what happened in the recent months but their service has gone downhill.. First, i have always called in my orders, never had one problem. Now it seems almost impossible to have them pick up the phone. And when they do they are super rude!! I called today and i guess they changed their opening hours to 12pm instead of 11am, which is extremely late for any restaurant, but whatever, it is currently 12pm as i am writing this and i have tried placing my order and still no response.. Please do yourself a favor and take your money where it is appreciated !
I tried druken noodles. It was a bit too spicy. The combo has all kind of meat and shrimp - chicken was very dry and not recommended
Absolutely delicious!
ไม่เคยกินร้านไหนกดดันขนาดนี้เลยคับ service is bad food is okay
Perfect food, excellent service, I highly recommend
Called in a to-go order and was told it would be “15 mins.” I arrived 15 mins later and proceeded to wait for an additional 25 mins. So the original “15 mins” turned into 40 mins total. No explanation or apology was offered. Pad Thai was pretty standard, nothing to write home about.
I’ve been coming here for a few years and really do love the food. However, tonight’s service compelled me to write this review.
The hostess did not acknowledge us as we walked in, which is fine since we were picking up an order. We walk to the front and none of the three people behind the counter do not say anything. Completely ignored us.
When the hostess finally asks us why we are there we say we are picking up our order. We placed it before 7pm.
She looks at what was available and says she does not have our name and walks away. I ask her how much longer it would be and she walked away again.
We speak to her once more and she says it will be 5 more minutes. Then another worker says they do not have our order.
He then says it will be 10 more minutes, however when we called it in we were told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. As I write this, it has been almost an hour.
We do love coming here but the service has declined in recent months. I do not know if there was some change in management or employees, but one thing is certain, count on your estimated wait time being much longer than they say.
Good food and decent portion of the meal. It is very tasty too. Good service
Newly remodeled and so bright and inviting inside.
The could use a little more help to get things done a bit faster, but the food is on point. I had the green curry with chicken and my wife had the yellow curry with chicken...we also had a spring roll with prawn.
The currys are just amazing, so much flavor and a good portion...also comes with rice! The spring roll was very fresh and tasty and the peanut sauce was amazing! This restaurant is in a little bit of a questionable area of Vallejo, but they are also able to make anything you want to go...or to be picked up by food delivery providers. The staff are super friendly and helpful...give them a try!
Nice clean restaurant. Friendly service. Could be a little more attentive though.
Now this review is based solely on the phad kee mao (drunken noodles). This places does it right! All the good flavors, veggies cooked right and to the right portions. Asked for Thai spicy level, and they delivered it right.
The basil Wonton is meh. The wonton wrap is too flour-y and the filling isn't anything to take about. Other than that, come for the phad kee mao!
Love love love the food here!!! And their always so kind!!!
Friendly staff, super efficient online ordering, and fantastic food!
Excellent food wonderful service. Really good eats here.
Could not even order. Did not pick up the phone. Could not put an order in DoorDash or UberEats either.
I ordered the good bbq chicken and it was so skimpy. I had 1 and then half a piece of little chicken wing. I have been going there for so long but I won’t go back. Charging $14 for that chicken plate and half cup of white rice. Really! Omg I was so disappointed. And the chicken was hard. Looked like it was old. I hate when Cooks use old pieces and they are full of fat. Sorry I don’t eat the fat. I try to treat myself on the weekends but now I won’t do it there.
Maya Thai used be good. Reasonably price, good quality Thai food with good portions. Now it has really gone the other way. The portion are small and it is very expensive. It feels like a rip off for what I paid. I guess this is how things are going these days.
Most authentic Thai food in the area. The flavors are excellent and the service is great. They have more than the classic Thai dishes and actually have Thai specialties that aren’t seen in basic Thai restaurants! Don’t be afraid to explore the menu bc everything tastes great! I love the food here and always over order bc I want to eat everything. It reminds me of the food back in Thailand!
Fantastic tom yum, great noodles
Everything was fresh and delicious! I’ll definitely be back
This is by far the best Thai place in Vallejo, maybe even the north bay in general.
This is our favorite place for takeout Thai in Vallejo! Great food at reasonable prices. If you order online through Menufy, meals are super customizable, & there are no price markups like with some other platforms. Occasionally we've had issues with the spice levels, as obviously the spice scale can be subjective depending on the dish you order & who's cooking that day, but we always come back for more because we love this place. Definitely recommended!
Best Thai in Vallejo IMO!
Highly recommend you eat here. The Pineapple Curry is fire 🔥. Yellow Curry fire 🔥 I’m definitely returning soon.
Yummy food and the waiter is so hardworking!
I posted a photograph on 10/11/21 and it came up today saying I got 500,000views… I then realized that I took that picture shortly before going into the hospital and less than 5 minutes later my daughter had a seizure!! 😭 The reason we came over there was for the coconut soup and the guy actually came to my car instead of me having to go in and take the baby outside not knowing that she was so sick but I was getting to Soup so she could have a little bit of food in her system while we waited in the emergency. So thank you very much for coming outside to take my payment and bring my food that night , we might not have made it on time to the hospital! xoxoxo #LoveNeems
Good food and good price
The food was great I cannot complain about that but the service was trash . I was seated and waited 20 mins for my waiter to introduce himself. A couple came in after me and they were greeted first and also received their food before me . I was highly upset about this service ! Never going back
Very good service. Food was good and delicious. Inside is pretty small and compact. I was happy with everything overall and would come back.
Very clean and a nice ambiance. I really like the murals they have on the walls. The food is excellent. I wish the were open all day as my cravings usually take place between the lunch and dinner serving times. Will continue to support this business.
Nooooice delicious asked for gluten free but brought out stuff that wasnt
One of the best Thai restaurants around. Pretty much every dish has a perfect balance in terms of flavors. Everything is also reasonably priced.
I ordered Pad Thai from here today and it was the worst. very sour like they just added a lot of teriyaki sauce I've never tasted pad Thai so bad and I asked for lemon he gave me attitude and gave me a very dry old lemon. Mai Thai in Benicia is way better and gives you better service with more food. nasty asssss pad Thai almost mad me yack.
The food here is sumptuous 😋 no kidding. Their pineapple rice and coconut rice 🍚 is my favorite and you know whats more interesting. You get to choose different levels of spicy. And thai hot is mi favorite 😍
Good soup. Good food. Thai teas
This is about the best I've ever had.... My gawd it's good..... The spicy eggplant is off the hook....you will not be disappointed 😋🥰
This is a go to Thai place in Vallejo for us. I enjoy the decor in the past (not sure if they have in- house dining yet, as of 12/2021). Takeout only took 15 mins from order. The curries are great, veggies are crunchy and fresh; they did a nice job of explaining their spice levels. Frequently get pork Pad see ew, it's great, meat is tender, although a small improvement would be thinner noodles, they seem to be large squares. But no biggie. Def will keep going back.
Cute place with great menu options, flavorful food served in healthy portions. We loved pineapple fried rice, pad thai and pad see ew. Got red pumpkin curry with rice and it was superb. Thai ice tea was yumm! They are not open for dining yet but may be next year. The person at the counter was very sweet. He gave us ice tea as complimentary when an item in the order was missed in the takeout pack, although I was ok with it. Gave paper straw instead of plastic one. And so many vegetarian options!! Love it!
Delivery from this spot was exceptional. 🔥 Soo good.
OMG whatta lik gem in Vallejo. Their food is sooooooooo good.
Delicious Tom yum soup with the perfect amount of spice brings me back memories of living in Chiangmai
Food was Great
Ordered the Devil Chicken, and the flavor was excellent but the chicken was so overcooked it was like chewing on leather. My jaw got sore before I even got halfway through the dish.
Great food, nice place - can't wait until we can dine- in at their new (bigger) location
best thai in vallejo hands down.
I dont understand how the reviews are so good. I've been here multiple times, its ok that's it. Cheap/boring peanut sauce and pad thai. I recommend Thai Kitchen in Am-cam.- shrimp, tofu all that in the Pad thai without extra $ And amazing soups. The Pad Thai tastes like Chow mein this time here.
Discovered one in my party was violently allergic to Thai basil, or something in the sping roll. The rest of us were fine, no vomit. I plan to buy food again, just not with someone allergic to licorice.
Easily some of the best thai in the north bay...such great people and clean food made with love
...the parking lot which host various shady characters is no reflection on this business. Support your local restaurants during this hard time. I would give 5 stars anywhere this restaurant would call home. Vallejo is lucky to have Maya Thai in an expanded setting. I reccomend the papaya salad and the chili fish. Keep up the good work.
Good and Delicious food
The best Crab Fried Rice in the Bay Area. It's not even close.
I absolutely love this place ❤
Hidden gem! A must try. Everything we ordered was excellent, spicy eggplant tofu, beef red curry and beef noodle soup. Planning to go back soon! Yumm-O
Tried this place right before the pandemic and finally gave them a second try. Fast, convenient, and delicious! Think they are better now than then. My new Thai go to!
This food is not made by people that know Thai food and probably not Thai at all. Curry and was wayyy to thick and not fresh food. Please don’t go here...
No me gsto la comida
This was our first time here. We've tried a couple of other Thai restaurants in the 5 years we've lived in Vallejo and have never found one that we enjoyed more than our favorite in downtown Oakland. The food was very tasty and cooked very well! I love that they actually put the sauce separate from the vegetables and protein - which in my case was Salmon and my husband got the beef radna (sp?) and we ordered the 3 item appetizer which was also done well. Their flavors are perfect. A definite do-over restaurant!
Best place in the Bay Area for Thai food!!! Bold flavors and big portions. I eat here at least once a week.
So good and great prices too..quick service
Love it!! Always go there on my breaks
WOW! What a wonderful Thai restaurant! My husband and I was craving for Thai food while staying in Vallejo for one week. I Googled for Thai Restaurants and noticed Maya Thai House has better reviews than others and photos looks inviting. I am so glad that we came here. Our waitress was so kind and attentive. She was very helpful with our order and frequently checking on us to see what we need. The food was amazingly delicious, each dish has it is own flavor. We liked everything we have ordered. The only thing was the dish we ordered Thai hot wasn’t very spicy. It wasn’t a big deal. We have eaten enough Thai food to know that this place is worth for you to give it a try. I highly recommend it!
The main Thai food we go for in Vallejo
Good pineapple rice 👍👍
Well if this isn't some of the best Thai food I've ever had! My husband and I ordered the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Green Curry last night and we loved every bite of each of them. I'd say the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were particularly excellent, with a good bit of spice (we ordered Mild but asked for it to be between Mild-Medium). The portions are also pretty generous and made for a few meals. Highly recommend this place, I plan on ordering from here again soon.
WOW!!!! THE RED PORK CURRY WAS AMAZING!!! EXCELLENT THAI FOOD. MY FAVORITE, HANDS DOWN!
This is the best Thai food in Vallejo! If you are unsure of where to start the Drunken Noodles are a good place to begin. Food is always ready in a timely manor and everything they offer is delicious.
Delicious food and Thai iced tea
New Korean restaurant
Good food
Food was very delicious. This place has moved up to one of my favorites thai food place. Highly recommend!
Good tasting food, and nice presentation
Amazing! Love their chicken noodle soup.
Always hot when picked up.
The food was absolutely delicious but a little pricey, but totally worth every cent!
First time there ordered the pineapple fried rice
Excellent food
Little expensive but the is good
This place is so great!! The service is always excellent!! The staff is so friendly and professional. This establishment is always so clean!! I love this place!!
Food took forever, forgot rice, rude customer service
GREAT food and fantastic service!! Such a wonderful hidden gem
My daughter loves this place and she took me here. She is right, food is great. People here are just as great
