We went in for lunch on Friday. It wasn’t very busy. The vibe was kind of just blah. There were 3 TVs none of them were on, no music. Right before we left they tuned the TV’s onto the news network. Not really what I’m looking to watch while trying to enjoy lunch at a brewery.

The waitress was very nice and made us feel welcome. I’m not a big beer drinker but they seem to have a good variety of their own brews on tap.

The menu had many options of sandwiches and Thai food. We ordered the pineapple shrimp and rice, the Pad Thai shrimp and a Rib Eye Sandwich. The Thai food was not quiet as good as The Asian Experience down the street, but it was pretty good. The Rib Eye Sandwich was humongous and tasty. The crinkle fries were very good. We spent a little over $20 a meal.

Traveling through on way back to Bay Area, saw their sign in Taft and called about WNBA finals. When we rolled up, the owner had the game on with sound. Steak salad was delicious and Mexican Lager is to die for !

Delicious breakfast, and plenty of avocado on my omelette. The food was perfect- I've gone to too many places that do not season their potatoes. I would definitely come here again. The owner was very nice and let me hang out for a while after my meal out. Nice ambiance, and friendly service. I highly recommend.

The steaks tasted kinda funny but very heavily seasoned, so we thought it was just the spices. But about an hour later, it all went south and kept going all night long. I wouldn't go back there.

Outstanding beer! Especially the Midway Sunset Citra Pale Ale. We will be back!

Out of towner stopped in today for a few beers and lunch. Food is amazing, beer is amazing couldn't ask for more. Will be stopping in again before I head back home.

Good Thai Food And Coffee

I drove two hours out of my way to check this place out. I was going based on the hours that reflect on google. Upon arriving to the restaurant they had a sign on the door that said open Monday- Friday 7am-9am 1130am-130pm and 5pm-730pm. Lucky for me I arrived at 930am. Determined to try this place out I actually waited until 1130am. 1130am came and the restaurant was still closed. I saw people across the street that looked like locals so I asked if they knew weather the restaurant was even opening today. To my surprise they said, “The owner opens when ever he wants, so we couldn’t tell you weather he will even open today.” “He shows up randomly, he probably isn’t even opening at all this week since Thanksgiving is this week.” Mind you it was only Monday. The business could of at least put up a sign on the window giving customers a heads up about being closed for the week due to the holiday.

I had the ribeye. The seasoning was so delicious. Good Stuff!

They have good beer. The citra is much hoppier than the IPA which is not typical. So if you want a happy beer get the citra. The food is very good also. I got an avocado bacon burger.

Our first impresion was negative - we arrived in Taft around 8pm and were looking for a place for beer and burgers. Sounded like the Black Gold Brewing Company would be a perfect fit. But they closed at 8pm. A Brewery closing at 8??!!!
We came back a couple of days later in the middle of day, seeking refuge from a rainstorm. The owner was extremely nice, the burgers were great (Lots of choices too) and the coffee was very good! Would have laved to try their beers - but we were on motorcycles. Looks like I have to try again....

The food is great, it's just so strange to close at 8pm... The craft beer sampler is a great deal! And you can sit on the patio with your dog!

Great food, beer and people. Right next to the Fox Theatre makes for a perfect place to eat before a show take the whole family or go on a night out! Has everything from juicy burgers to fresh Thai food! It’s a must stop

I was on a road trip from Los Angeles to SLO to Ojai and stopped in before heading up the 33. Look and felt like standard american brew pub with solid comfort food you would expect, but there were also amazing authentic Thai dishes on the menu, a very pleasant surprise that resulting in an amazing meal (The wife of this husband/wife owned establishment is Thai). Kind and friendly service and the food was great. Just what was needed.

My friend and I almost walked out, ask about desserts on menu no desserts waitress said, ok how about a cup of coffee, no coffee, machine was broken, I thought this was a coffee house but we decided to stay and try the place and have to say the Dinner was fantastic, we had the cheese and spinach ravoli. with salad, bread would have been good but not included.
I Went to the theater next door and bought two cups of their coffee and brought back to enjoy with our dinner.
Will go back again and see if they fixed their coffee machine and have desserts like they list on their website. Highly recommend

The steak sandwich was really good and I bought a growler for the house and i gotta say the poor sucked there was so much foam when the lady closed it and rang me up I didn't notice till I got home that it was only 3/4 filled if even that

Sleepy little brewery in the historic downtown area of Taft. Been there three times during the day. Sparse crowds. Beer is fine. I'm into hoppy beers. An IPA was only available once. Today I had citrusy pale ale and it was quite refreshing after riding in 100 degree heat.

Das Essen dort war gut und das Bier war noch besser!
Der Inhaber, Michael, war äußerst freundlich und hat uns noch eingeladen, seinen kleinen, aber sehr gemütlichen Biergarten zu nutzen, wo wir nach dem Essen noch seine anderen, selbstgebrauten Biere genießen konnten.
Sehr schöne Location, gute Verpflegung und wirklich nette Menschen!
Bei unserer nächsten Reise kommen wir gerne wieder vorbei!

Awesome coffee

Good experience here. Lots of effort is made to keep the equipment clean. There's a helpful variety of equipment, nice user-friendly atmosphere, a kiddie corner where adults with their children can enjoy being there while watching them. There are canned powdered foods available to purchase to assist healthy diet habits and friendly helpful, encouraging staff.

Best hamburger I have had in a long time. Home made roll. Real meat patty with fries less than$8. Great wine and beer selection.
Owner's wife is Thai so great authentic Thai food. Great place to eat in this small town. Just around corner from Best Western so a preferred option.

It's a very good place to eat. I love their orange chicken and egg drop soup. My husband Chris really enjoyed the pastrami hamburger. We really want to try their breakfast. We will return.

A true gem, an oasis in the last place you'd expect. Pumpkin ale? Chocolate milk stout? Indeed and much more! And all home brewed, with excellent food to accompany it! Relaxed, comfortable open air seating on the sidewalk, and wholly unpretentious. Well done!
