Indeed there is no restroom here so prepare before arriving.
Caveat, growing up eating homemade Lao food, am a bit selective.
Kao poon. Broth is how I remember with chicken, semi sweet (coconut), salty, and a bit spicy. Additional dry chili topping but would have preferred fresh chilies.
Mok pla. Could use more spice, otherwise other than the salmon, similar flavor especially with the herbs, the dill is what gives it a nice herby fragrance.
Pad woon sen. With chicken. Good but not quite enough. Missing the soy/oil aroma, a hint of it is there but not strong enough for me and the noodle a bit overcooked and prefer with tomatoes for acidity.
The food and customer service at this establishment are excellent, making for a delightful dining experience. The interior space is somewhat compact, but it provides a cozy atmosphere where you can comfortably enjoy your meal. It's worth noting that parking is a shared facility with other nearby businesses, so it can be tricky during peak hours. Among the menu highlights, the Thai iced tea stands out for its rich, sweet flavor, while the mango with sweet rice is a personal favorite of mine—it's a perfect balance of creamy and fruity goodness. One downside is that there are no restrooms available for customers, which could be a consideration if you plan to stay for a while.
Craving papaya salad and Owl pop up for me to try.
Across the street from Costco and Hilltop Park where I will be going after for my walk.
Small shop but welcoming feeling.
Order at the counter and sit down.
Big portion!
Large cup coffee is larger than my jamba juice large size.
Fried rice has combination of chicken, beef, shrimp.
Everything was delicious!
Next time, i will order as a to go order and enjoy at the hilltop.
Small little restaurant but great service and the food is really good. This is usually my go to place for Thai/Lao food in Long Beach. Love everything on the menu. Their somtum platter comes with a good mix of everything; papaya, wings, sausage, satay, pork belly. They also have decent kaopiek and I love the Thai boat here. It's made authentically with the blood mixed in and has great flavor. The kaopoon is ok but I usually go for the other things first as it is slightly sweeter than my liking here. Spicy basil/kaprow is great and so are the padsee ew and pad kee mao. I really like all the dishes, and I've tried all of these over the course of many visits. Drinks like the butterfly tea and Thai tea are bit too sweet in my opinion, but my friends and family like it. Overall, hard to go wrong with any of the menu items. My personal go to is usually the pork belly and sausage with sticky rice, or Thai boat if I want soup. Also they usually have tamarind sauce they give, but you can also ask for pepper and fish sauce that they usually have in the back as well.
Great Thai food! Everything was delicious! I love the papaya salad. Pad Thai was great as well, so different in taste than most that I had which I can't distinguished what the flavor is from my past lol. Spot on delicious though! I had it mild but even that was too hot for me 😂. Pork belly was good too, the dipping sauce was the thing that ties everything together for that dish. Oh I almost forgot, we even got the Thai tea with boba . Tea was not spot on though and the boba was over cooked, end up tossing over half of it out when we left. But we'll definitely come back for the food 😆
This is our to-go/eat spot when we're in the Long Beach area, due to their Spicy Jaew Sauce. Today, we ordered the Somtum Platter (Lao Style) along with the 16oz Spicy Jaew Sauce & Large Butterfly Tea. ALL of the meat was perfectly cooked to the crispiness with the right amount of flavors. The Moo Ping (fancy for grilled pork skewers) was surprisingly good. The flavor & texture was just right; especially the texture. It wasn't too soft or soggy. However, the Lao Style somtum was not how we've imagined, but it was still good enough. We're used to the Homestyle Lao version with the heavy shrimp paste, crabs and other "stinky" sauce 😂😁🤣. The restaurant itself is pretty small and there is NO restroom onsite for guests; not so sure if there is one at all. I hope you'll enjoy the fabulous dishes from this restaurant as we did. Don't forget to get a small 8oz of the Spicy Jaew Sauce for to-go. ✌️
I think people review this place over exaggerate with the foods. Everything is salty and over price. The foods were not authentic, especially Larb. Larb shouldn't be sweet. Drunken noodles shouldn't have cabbage in there and too runny with sauce. Moreover, no basil leafs.
1st time there & I wanted to eat there but no restrooms for paying customers?? So I ended up taking it togo! I just understand how can you have a restaurant & customers have no access to a restrooms? Other than that the food was good.

Over price, no restroom and they charge for mostly everything lol don’t even try to get here expecting it’s good.
I was under the impression that if you are a Dine in Restaurant you have to have a bathroom for customers to take a leak?! Take Out Only I guess... 🥴 Oh yeah, Fried Rice was ok. Papaya Salad was on point.
Amazing food will not disappoint staff is friendly small place but worth it...

Tooo good!
Best food in Long Beach
The food is legit good. The people who work there were great as well.
Hands down, best spot in Long Beach for Lao food. Me and my family frequently order delivery or will make the drive down to Signal Hill. It’s located in an unassuming plaza that also has an amazing sushi spot. My favorite dishes on repeat:
Boat Noodle (I can’t order this anywhere else because I need the sour sauce that comes with this dish to cut the blood. Yes, the dark soup is made from blood!)
Crispy Pork
Lao Sausage
Tom Yum Soup
Khao Piak
Fried Chicken Wings
Som Tum (lao style papaya salad with the dark and fishy sauce - the only way I like it)
Honestly, everything is authentic and delicious!
It’s a simple spot. You order first and then take a seat. Your food will come out fast and hot. Don’t expect a waitress to take your order here.
My first time here. After the good reviews and pics I saw on Instagram I decided to drop by. I dined in and I ordered the pad see yew. My wife ordered one of the noodle soup I forgot the name. It had red curry and the bowl was filled half-way. Not even to the top. It was delicious but very small portions on a small paper plate that I got. Me and my wife was still very hungry afterwards. And the meal with drinks and tip was 40 bucks. I felt cheated because we were both still hungry and afterwards we went to Little Caesars because of such a small portions we got. Also, there was no restroom that I could use while I was there. The dining area was small. Its not worth coming back.
Very good

Came here around lunch time with a group of eight and the food came out pretty quick. We got an array of different foods but I got the pad see ew with shrimp and tofu, mango sticky rice and butterfly tea. Absolutely delicious fried pork belly...wish I had gotten my own plate instead of stealing off my friends plate!
It's not hard to find, small store very clean. Holds 22 people if dining in. Nice person helped me. I ordered the tomsum platter for $55.11 . Paid with phone. Waited for about 15mins. Food came well packaged in silver tin and ventilated, so crispy chicken wouldn't get soft. Smells so goooood. Got home , opened it. You get chicken wings, pork belly, lao sausage, beef on skewer, white noodle, and slice cabbage and papaya salad. Everything was good. I love the sauce that was kind of sweet. But the tart sauce, no. I wish there we more pork belly! I didn't eat the sliced caggage it was raw, so i kept it to cook for later. Will i be back, yes to try the soups and more pork belly. Is it worth $55 ,for the effort and food to put together? Yes, quantity no. But that's just my opinion. But i will be back for pork belly and tea lol
Only negative item is the food takes longer to be ready then you're told when you place the order.
Food is great and fresh and the sauce is delish. It goes great with everything! Service is pleasant and they are patient while you browse the menu. Both the chicken and beef are tender and well seasoned/flavored. The pork belly is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Recommend the sausage if you want some complex flavors.
Owl Owl is great. My only complaint is the lack of parking in the area. I had to drive around for a long time before I could find parking.
The food is always delicious and made pretty quickly. Everyone working is pretty friendly.
We had Masamum curry special.
Tasty food. Friendly service. Reasonable prices.
Food is good but dine in space is small.
Small spot serving Thai street food and others. Stopped In for a few bites. Not bad!
It was not a very big menu, but the food was delicious
Love the Lao flavor. Their spicy 🌶 is 2 levels up. So I ordered non spicy and it’s spicy. Jk, IYKYK
Been here a few times, it’s just down the street from my house. Got the Larb Salad with pork, super tasty with great flavor. Just wish it was on a bed a chopped lettuce and cabbage rather than a large strips/leafs. The Pad See Ew was also delicious. Nice mix of veggies. I got the Thai tea both times without boba and it’s always been very good. Ready to try the Pad Thai next time. The place is always clean with attentive staff.

Disappointed. Was going to eat here but NO restroom for it's customers.
Sticky rice and mango
I’m very picky, food was great! The sauce was great. No complaints

Loved the food
Ordered the pad Thai chicken noodles to my office. Not the most authentic Thai place but for sure they serve decently good food.
It was a delivery so I can't really judge. But for a regular day to day food it seems to serve decent food to eat.
tasty food I enjoined it. the Boat soup was nice, just the right spice
Came here for lunch and felt the food was just okay. Its solid food, if you're in the neighborhood.
Pork belly is bomb.. and luv the thai tea!!
Nothing really stood out. Nam kao was really sour for me.
Not the best Thai food I've had but good enough without a long drive for me.
We had papaya salad, bbq pork, Laos sausages and sticky rice. All dishes were delicious, especially the bbq pork/moo ping; tender and flavorful. Sticky rice was warm and fresh. Tasted almost like the sticky rice we had in Laos. Why not 5-stars? Because food was served using paper plates w/ plastic utensils and kid-size styrofoam cup. Paper plate and plastic should be used for takeout. We dine inside the restaurant. We'll definitely be back for the delicious food, paper plate or not.
Got the som tam platter Lao style, and the beef larb delivered. The platter was so worth the money, came with sausage, noodles, papaya salad, wings, and pork belly. Sausage was spiced, herbed, and grilled perfectly. The wings and the pork belly were so crispy and tender. The beef larb was just a tad salty, but I think if I had added the tripe it would be just right. Much more reasonable than some competitors, that aren’t very authentic. This place is authentic, like a little taste of grandmas kitchen.
Ordered Pad Seew. Love it and it was very flavorful. They use Chinese broccoli and not random ingredients like some other Thai places. I really recommend this place. Staff was friendly as well.
(Side rant: I don't like how some other restaurants wrongfully add carrot and American broccoli in their Pad Seew. It's not suppose to have that. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. Thankfully, they did not.)
I did not find it particularly oily, as one other review mentioned but I understand it's a stir-fry noodle and not a pizza. You cannot make a stir-fry noodle without some sort of oil. That is like trying to make bread without flour.
Excellent food and very quick preparation. The Nam Khao was especially delicious, but everything was great. Will definitely go back again soon.
Really excellent Lao food! The Larb was exceptional.
No customer bathroom hard to eat when you have to pee.
Food was ok. I think it's pricey for the portion.
The pork belly was fantastic, crispy yet tender and juicy. The fried rice, we had both kinds, were so good had you going back for more until there was none. Umami in every bite. Next time in long Beach I am certainly coming back. Well done!
Second time trying owl owl and both experiences are enjoyable. Tried their bbq platter the first time, and the sausages stood out as a winner. Went with more standard Thai orders this time, and the boat noodle was comforting, with a deep flavorful soup you would expect. The pad Kee mao looks a smaller portion than other places, but it's bold and filling. I love how much veggies are put into the stir fry.
kaprow, crispy pork, lao sausage, and somtum platter are all bomb
The food here is really good and fresh. Every bite was delicious. My 1st time going here but I will be back.
A small place with a Big heart and amazing food .
I just ordered from here because I was craving Thai and this place was closest to my work. I only ordered the pad see ew.
Pros: Portion, Price and the beef they used was really great quality. (The beef even looked like it was seared)
Cons: Noodles were too soft, a bit on the salty side. My deal breaker was the amount of oil used. I had to use 3 paper towels to soak up a good portion of the oil.
Will I try it again? Maybe.
Felt super authentic, flavor was super savory and complex. We ordered two dishes: moo ping pork skewers and kaprow.
The moo ping was super tender and well seasoned. The dipping sauces were also quite good and went well with the meat. The kaprow was exceptionally good - I ordered chicken. However, it was quite spicy, but did not overpower the other flavors of the dish. The stir fry consisted of meat, bell peppers, onion, basil, and slivers of birds eye chili.
Very tasty fast Thai food. Not too spicy compared to some others. Pad Thai and Krawpow excellent flavor. Large Thai tea is big enough to share and perfectly mixed. Well priced for portions.
Very yummy ! Thank you!
GREAT food....
No restroom.
I will not be returning.
Great food, friendly service.
More almonds please, bit delicious food
My fav thai place. Their papaya salad is amazing!
Very nice service, and very tasty food. Got our food fast although it was really busy around 6. Not a very wide menu like other Thai restaurants, not too many vegetarian options. It's more casual but still recommend it 100%
Excellent Thai Food - Ordered Chicken Kaprow, Chicken Pad Thai and Egg Rolls. Flavor Fest!
My co worker recommended them and I'm so glad she did. Best wonton soup. Great pad Thai.
Finally got to try this place after hearing so many good things about it.
Som Tam Thai Style (Papaya Salad) was very good, authentic tasting.
Moo Ping ( BBQ Pork Skewers) was flavorful and moist.
Beef Pad Thai is excellent.
Since Thailand is still close for tourists due to COVID, this place satisfied my Thai food cravings.
Small menu but every single item is deliciously well done. The sauces are bombbbbbb. You’d think it’s hard to compete in a city already abundant with Thai and Laotian food, but Owl Owl proves that they’ve earned a spot in the middle of foodie town of Long Beach.
Not so good. I’ve had a lot of Thai food and this is not one of those memorial occasions .
Their roasted chili oil isn’t too spicy and has a very nice toasty flavor to it.
So glad to have this excellent restaurant in the neighborhood! We got the somtum platter and owl fried rice. Everything was very good—the sausage was our favorite and the papaya salad was one of the best I’ve had. Will be back soon to try more dishes.
I’m Thai (grew up there and lived there till I was 18), and I got takeout here as recommended by a friend I went to high school with. I can safely say this is the most authentic Thai restaurant in Long Beach. The food is up there with the places in Thai Town. Such a hidden gem!!
I loved it here and I will be going again. 😁
Best Thai in Long Beach! Everything so flavorful and delicious 😊😊
The moo ping was great. I recommend trying it. The place was nice and clean, overall good atmosphere and the cashier was nice.
Pork belly & sometimes very good
