Noodle World Jr. is a fast-casual Asian restaurant chain in Southern California that specializes in Asian noodles like pho, ramen, udon, and pad Thai. Noodle World Jr. has locations in Westchester, Montclair, Upland, Sherman Oaks, California and Hillsboro, Oregon. Noodle World (full service) has locations Alhambra, Monterey Park and San Marino, California.
I was feeling under the weather so I checked out google for the best pho in the area and this place popped up which I had seen plenty of times. I thought it was just a ramen place, but turns out they have Pho and all types of noodle dishes. I ordered the beef pho over the phone with a felt nice lady. She made me feel comfortable and didn’t rush me or anything. They also have a texting system which lets you know when your order is ready which I liked.
When I arrived I was confused on to where to park. The restaurant is on the main Street Ventura, where they have metered parking in front. In the back they have a parking lot which is free for short period of time and behind that more metered parking.
The noodle spot is on the first floor of the la Reina mall and has indoor and outdoor seating. I came around 2pm on a Tuesday and it was empty. It looks pretty clean inside and if I ever wanted to come eat in I wouldn’t mind it.
The beef pho was a good portion of food. It came with all the sides of veggies, peppers, and sauces. I liked the flavor of the broth. However I must say that the beef portion seemed a bit underwhelming. With only 3 small slabs of beef, I found myself still wanting more protein. I would like if they maybe had 6 slabs of beef and it was cut into smaller pieces. Besides the beef shortage, I think I would come back but ask for more meat.
Normally I get the spaghetti or pork chop at the senior Noodle World (planet) in Monterey Park or Westwood a long time ago and love love loved it. My friends were in the valley so we dropped by the junior and my vegetable noodle soup was so underwhelming. The broth tasted like mushroom and salt and unfortunately a cup of noodle would have been far superior. I asked my friends how their steak and rice and pad Thai (?) was and they gave an unenthusiastic "it's ok". The portions were fine although I had gotten the impression from other reviews that they were huge although it was just as well they were regular size.
Yes the atmosphere is a bit uninviting, but the garlic noodles with chicken were very good. The cashier, which appears to be the owner, checked on me to see how I’m doing when I dined in. He also keeps the restaurant very clean, he was washing all metal surfaces with soap and water. As a fellow restaurant employee, I really appreciate the cleanliness.
Just visited on a whim, and this place exceeded my expectations. Customer service is impeccable. I never give reviews, but they made it impossible not to. I ordered the spicy yakisoba noodles with tofu and words cannot describe how yummy it came out. I also got the taro milk tea with boba and all I can say is wow. Will be recommending this place to all my friends in the area. You won’t want to miss out on them!
This place is totally Good! We tried the Pad See Ew and it's honestly better than a lot of Thai places. The Garlic Noodles were seriously delicious, and they have a fried breaded chicken that is pretty good--the chicken was my boyfriend's favorite. The Thai tea is good, and the boba is really fresh. Staff is really nice, and there is parking, but you have to pay for it. I'm glad we tried this place, it's delicious, and not unreasonably priced.
The rice was dry. I bit into quite a few dried rice. The panang was ok, not great as they used dark meat chicken. My sister had the wonton noodle soup and she said that was pretty good. I guess if you come here get the soup, not a rice dish.
If you want some better-than-mediocre pho at a blazing fast pace, there's a guy named Ken here who is defying physics with his crazy fast service. Dude is doing 10 things at once, and all 10 are ensuring the satisfaction of his customers.
Very convenient pho.
Rock on, Ken.

Very quick service. Only one person does everything. As I waited he took my order, packed another order for someone, cleaned. Very kind and efficient.
I am very disappointed with the staff at this location in sherman oaks. How is it possible that at 11:35 AM the cook had not arrived. I am a regular customer of the local near LAX and I have never had a similar situation. Be more careful with your customers who are waiting for the food to be ready, or better close the day you don't have a cook.
After months going to eat I need to say the services is very nice and the food is simply delicious and the cook is on time now

Waiting for my friends to eat and the wait was a while ,so I ask to use the restroom and the lady look at my saying it's close, and then I reminded her I'm waiting for friends ,"oh, she said ...it will be open then. Wow what "great customer service yeah right. It's very sad that small businesses are picking and choosing who they want to serve. Mind you the Not full of customers at all.
Amazingly great food!
Great selection of Asian staples, I got the pad Thai and the portion was great and it was declious, one of the best pad thais I've had.
I really like the Garlic Noodles

Once before a time not so long ago Noodle World was an affordable eat delivering value-minded Asian cuisine. The junior locations are a scaled-down version for an even more casual stop.
Dishes here are individually sized and served in takeaway containers no matter whether you decide to dine in or find alternate accommodation. Departure from a communal dining experience, dishes here are limited and really at an average pace for flavors. The simple pleasures of noodles both wet and dry come out of the kitchen quickly and that is really all there is. There is also an overly use of sugar in the dishes. Flavors are not balanced. Rice dishes can be equally discerning.
For the neighborhood, this may do exceptionally well, but the value for the seasoned may leave you wondering about alternatives.
The service is excellent. The staff is very nice. Most of the business seems to be catering for pickup and delivery though. Parking in the building is expensive, but there is a public lot just across the way from the side street. Otherwise, street parking is an option.

Food really tastes bad, I ordered online Veggie Garlic noodles and Veggie Noodles, the taste was so bad and there was a very strong sense of fish oil 😟😭I ended up throwing away the food.
The place was very nice and clean. The portions were huge and the customer service was excellent!
Perfect takeout experience every time.
Exactly what I want in a noodle and exactly the right complimentary ingredients.
Amazing must try
Fantastic place! Great prices with huge portions and very friendly staff. Ken was super nice to my Fiancée and I who just moved to the neighborhood.
I picked up their chow mein with beef tonight, it was fantastic. Great prices, great service, great quality and great portions. What more can you ask for? I have had a lot of their dishes and I have loved all of them so far.
The food was pretty good, service was good but the restaurant looks like it's currently being worked on
Food was ok, but the cashier, possibly the franchise owner was very uninviting....we were the only two in the restaurant & the guy was unfriendly & rushing us. Also it was freezing in there...we planned on eating inside, but decided to get it to go because it was too cold. Unfortunately we are probably not going back.
Good service and food. Return to place a few times the food is quite good. Pho (beef) is great. Noodle and rice dishes are good.
Terrible
Just noodles. No flavor. No toppings.
Their pad Thai is so good! But the name of the restaurant is bad and not attractive
Good food, nice prices.
I love this spot. Their portions are a good size and the food is super tasty.
Food is great, but they either need to hire more people or handle the people in the store with priority. If it took twice as long, they'd still be slow
The man that greeted us is very kind and polite. We got both #7. The noodles were very good, but we had better. The pork was nice and flavorful, which kind of saved the bowl.. I would come here again, maybe to try something else. Boba was delicious though!
The cashier was pleasant. I wanted spice level 7 & she told me that they'll add extra chili on the side so I can adjust the heat. Nice!
However the Panang Curry was sooooo WATERY. The flavor was barely there. And then to top it off, there was only a tiny amount of spice so the entire dish was lacking.. I ate the protein & most of the veggies & learned my lesson.
It seems others have had some one off bad experiences but as it seems and I would likely agree - one bad experience is enough to shoo you away from a place. After seeing others' experiences, I can see that mine was not unique.
I had a vegetarian dish, and everything just tasted so bland. No COVID, had other things tasting fine, but this was just tasteless. As someone else mentioned, not much flavor, just like plain noodles in some oily water.
Tried to spruce it up with Sriracha and Tamari Soy Sauce until I realized I was just changing the broth and the noodles would still be super bland. Maybe they were undercooked, maybe they were overcooked, not sure. Just not good overall. The Noodle World in LA was pretty great tho!
Ordered tofu (I'm a vegetarian) that took 18 minutes to prepare, then found I'd been given a chicken entree once I got home. They acknowledged it was their error but wouldn't reimburse the dish unless I came back to the restaurant with the food. Cashier checked with the manager, whose response was "Our return policy is posted online." Will challenge the charge instead and not return. Was a frequent customer.
Always love this place, I eat here frequently. Quick, convenient, and friendly staff.
Excellent choice!! I had there beef stew ramen.
This place has the best Boba in town!!!!
Bomb af
Ordered via phone, not any apps. 6 dishes all ready to go in 15 minutes. I was really upset with how delicious my car smelled and I couldn't just devour it on the spot.
A tip on the pho, try to separate the meat and noodles before pouring in the delicious broth. Pad Thai, Pad See Yu, rice and beef were all spot on. Had to get everything plain flavored, darn kids, but they provided extra spices to kick things up a notch if you need to.
Recommend you put this place in your takeout rotation.
I used to like ordering from here and it's been a year but now I likely won't be back. Ordered the Garlic Noodles like usual and in almost every bite, was a piece of outer garlic clove - felt like I was eating plastic. The cooks should be more careful about peeling the garlic.
This place is so good. I got the drunken noodles with beef and the satay chicken skewers. The beef was perfectly cooked. The veggies were crisp. The chicken satay was so flavorful. You gotta try this place.
My 2nd time trying this place and I gotta be honest 🤷.... It's not bad at all I still like their specialties mostly like their milk teas and flavored milk teas and boba!
I recommend the Thai fried rice with chicken but the Tonkotsu Ramen with pork was just okay. Not too flavorful.

is my favorite place to eat..
Good noodles at this place and great service and good prices
Very limited menu Garlic chicken was delicious
Great Service, Good Food, Friendly environment.
This is a good place to eat. I was hungry not really having knowing what I wanted to eat. My niece picked this spot next to the Bundt Cake shop. We ordered the Tom Hak with chicken and one with the shrimp. Great flavor alone, even better with peppers and soy sauce. Service was exceptional. I was on crutches, and feeling sick due to some medications I had taken. The lady helping was very nice in helping me settle my stomach before the food came. I will definitely be going back soon.

Not as good as in Alhambra
One of my favorite lunch locations in Sherman Oaks. They serve some of the most delicious plates like their mint leaf chicken and pad Thai, and they have a nice smoothie/Boba menu as well. Place is very clean and staff is always friendly serving you with a smile.
It's pretty good unfortunately they oversimplified the menu at this location.
Awesome, and the Customer service was great.
I really like this place, the food it's very good and its quick. If you are hungry and you want something different than a burger. Here is the place
Best noodles in the world
Great place for Asian noodle dishes
Awesome place if you're on a budget and really hungry. Only a few places today you can get a meal for under 10 dollars. All the portions are enough for at least 2 people. Especially the rice and noodle dishes.
After trying a few items on their menu, I would vote for the following: wuhan dry noodle, slice pork in sichuan sauce, guilin noodle. I actually really like Guilin noodle because of the texture and it doesn't get oily.
Great Customer Service! Food is yummy as always!
The pho was great & the different meats were so delicious that it melted in our mouths.
#vegetarianfriendly #healthy
simple and quick place for lunch, street parking, decent food, fair prices, friendly staff.
Excelente comida.. Estancia tranquila..
Service was disaapointed, first time I ordered, I even gave a compliment on their green tea with boba, but when im putting my money on my purse the cashier (Diego) was asking me to put away the food i ordered to give a way to the new costumer, so i said, Can you pls. offer to help me since I cannot carry everthing at one time, so he help me and talked me back sarcastically, anyways, long story short, that guy( diego) has an attitude, doesnt know what how treat customer, And I ask the name of the manager to the other server, he told me the name, before I leave he said to me, GOODBYE and DONT COME BACK , ( HOW NICE, RIGHT) so I called THE NOODLE WORLD the moment I came to my office, I spoke to victor( I bet its, DIEGO), he said that he cant give away the name of the Manager, that's they policy, ( that is B***S***), really? What if you have complaint or compliment, you cant talk or reach the manager? right?
Great noddles and coustmers service
Nobody could eat it. I'm serious it was in the refrigerator for 2 days...
horrible food bad service. Dirty place
Delicious food, the service is fantastic.
Gordon Ramsay another restaurant I have for you to come in and taste.
Good ramen!
Chicken noodle bowl hit the spot!
Placed an order online for 12 people, all with different allergies, and specific requests that needed to be ready within an hour. The employees on staff called, and asked to confirm a number of details before creating the order, which was perfect. No incidents. Everyone on our crew was happy, fed, and symptom free.

Good place for noodle..
Always great
They did have a lot of noodles. I don't know if it was a world worth, but definetly plenty of noodling going on. Great place!
Quick and easy. Can't complain.
Decent fast food noodle place. But don’t be deceived, there are rice dishes here. Hubs and I went for the noodles, though... how can we go to a place that has “noodle” in its name and not have noodles?? Haha!
I ordered the Chicken Tom Kah—tasty and comes w/o any spiciness but that was quickly resolved by asking for some dried chili and I also had to ask for lime (yum!).
Hubs ordered the Spicy Beef Stew Ramen—better than what he was expecting :D yay! That’s more than the usual, “it’s okay.” 🤦♀️ hahaha!
Aside from the food, the service was EXCELLENT! I was surprised—since most places are up to par on service.
So, if you’re looking for a super casual place for some yummy noodles, definitely check this place out!
Yummy and freshly prepared.
Delicious bbq wonton noodle.
Huge portions. Good food. Friendly staff.
The service was good, but as I opened my food at my house (I ordered to go) it turned out the bowl my Spicy Beef Stew Ramen came in had a hole in it. As I poured the broth into the bowl, it spilled all over my desk and legs. I decided to look past this and give the ramen a chance in one of my bowls, and found it to be utterly disappointing. The beef turned to powder in my mouth, easily the least satisfying meat I've ever tasted. The broth wasn't spicy, in fact, it barely had any flavor at all. I ate it anyway, and hours later, I felt as if I were going to throw up. I can only assume I got mild food poisoning from their food, which is surprising given their supposed A rating. I'm incredibly disappointed that a place like this replaced The Habit, which had much higher quality food for a similar price, food that also didn't make me sick or ever spill all over me.
If you want ramen, just get some instant ramen from the CVS right next to this place. You'll have a more enjoyable and healthier experience for a tenth the price.
An unpleasant disappointment. With so many great restaurants next to it, there's absolutely no reason to go here.
Great garbage Ramen, in the best way. I wish it was open later, this would be amazing at 2am, bleary eyed. Good service, try the Karake.
