Basic venue offering familiar Thai dishes, plus some northeastern specialties.
This is a decent thai restaurant in santee I usually get the orange chicken my wife will try different things but as of lately she is not a fan and does not accompany me I do like the orange chicken spicy level 3 and I know orange chicken is not exactly thai but I honestly prefer Panda Express orange chicken but if you want thai food and want authentic thai food you should definitely consider faidang
I had fried tofu, mixed vegetables, egg fried rice, mango sticky rice and Thai iced tea here!
The food is delicious and the staff was understanding enough to prepare a proper vegetarian dish for me.
The atmosphere here is good for families and children.
If you have a sweet tooth, go for the mango sticky rice or the Thai iced tea, you won't regret it!
Delicious food, great service! That’s all we need. I’ve been eating orange chicken from so many different restaurants, different cuisines and theirs is hands down the best I’ve had!
Calamari was good, crunchy. Pad see ew was a tad dry , pineapple fried rice was okay.
Customer service was excellent!
Really nice lunch here. One of the only places in San Diego I found that does a proper Thai Omelette! Everything was really tasty. The Papaya Salad was nice and properly spicy. Not pictured here, but I got the Mango sticky rice to go as well as a Chicken Massaman Curry. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu and make sure the quality stays consistent. If it does, then I found my new "go to" Thai Restaurant in East County.
Got the Pineapple Curry with pork, and the Green Curry with beef. Both curries were watery and not creamy. Most likely the coconut milk was not allowed to cook down until the oils separated before adding the curry pastes. The pineapple curry contained green grapes and tomatoes, which is not traditional. The 5 heat level was undetectable. Both curries were not bad, but just ok.
This is my second time here and for this time I ordered mango sticky rice and pad Thai pork. To be honest this is not a taste like the “Thai” taste at all, specially the sticky rice for the mango it’s just a steamed sticky rice, not like the one that they cooked for dessert. For pad Thai, I expected to taste tamarind more than this but overall the service was great 👌
I have loved this place for many years! I didn’t realize before arriving that the name had changed, but I was relieved to see signage stating the ownership and chefs remained the same. Delicious as always! They did change up the decor, so it’s more “modern” now (I loved the classic decor before) but nothing to complain about.

LOVE the food. Great service. I always get take-out, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere, but it seems pretty spartan in there.
Food is subpar. Couldn’t finish the green curry. Think cafeteria from high school.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Their website is incorrect and they will blame it on you. We ordered from the lunch special section. No indicators of lunch special times or preventing checkout. After the 20-25 mins wait, we arrive at the restaurant for carry out and they haven’t made half of the dishes. According to the employees, it is not lunch special time so they were “out of ingredients.” Keep in mind these are the same items on their regular menu. After “talking to the boss” they started making the food (which made the other 4 items cold as they had already made them). To top it off, they claimed that “they will never do this again” as if they did us a favor. Terrible service and execution for the order. All that for a difference of $8 for $173 order. They could’ve asked if we were okay paying the difference and we would have agreed. I understand website not being updated is not the employees fault but lying about being out of ingredients and then pretending they did us a favor when half our meal was cold was an insane way to deal with this. First and last time.
They closed the restaurant for our private party and catered to a special menu. Unbelievably delicious quail and the best crispy crab I have ever had. Crab meat and fish maw soup was excellent, as well as the fried rice. If you have a celebration coming up I highly recommend this restaurant.
By far one of my favorite places in Santee. Lunch specials, authentic and service is on point.. For me it's the details and effort they put into their restaurant..
quality has dropped over last 2 yrs
Great food! Great atmosphere! Great place all around!!
It's aiiiight
Take out Pad Thai was amazing!!
Family owned and operated, very friendly staff and awesome food. Best orange chicken I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of places.
Always amazing food here, one of my favorite Thai restaurants!
Good Thai food! Ordered on DoorDash and was ready under 20 minutes.
We've been coming to Faidang for almost 10 years. It's the same place, same staff, same everything--only a recent name change. This is "our Thai place." A+++
Excellent!
They have my favorite orange chicken!
SAB-E-LEE
Great, fresh, food.
Food was great and the staff super sweet
Waiter is rude! Not a very friendly environment anymore. Heard yelling from the back. Disappointed!
Will definitely go back! Food was pretty tasty!
Different name. Same food and wonderful service.

Wifey and I enjoyed spicy combination fried rice and a wonderful coconut soup, was really satisfying fresh and yummy 😋
We love this place. The food is authentic and so good. They are quick to get you your food after you order. The pad Thai is delicious.
The Orange chicken was amazing and the chicken panang curry was good. The steamed dumplings were great!
The name changed recently but it’s still has great food and service. Love this place. The people are super nice by the way. I’ve been coming here for about 7 years now.

Nice and clean establishment the food is unbelievable terrific the curry especially and of course the Drunken Noodles is always great
Best Thai food in all of San Diego County! Food is always fresh and when you call in ahead they’re always ready on time. My girlfriend and I are here all the time and it never disappoints.
Very friendly people. Standard strip mall restaurant. Food was ok but not inspired. Curry was 'watery'. Tom kah soup was good
Food tasted great. I got a to-go order of orange chicken, bbq pork fried rice and beef pad se eww. All portions were smaller than expected, none of the containers were filled well. Food tasted great but portions could have been a little more.
Food is fabulous! We enjoyed our dinner.
FAIDANG Thai Restaurant in Santee, California, is a culinary gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you'll be greeted with warm hospitality and welcoming smiles from the staff. The restaurant's inviting ambiance, complete with elegant decor and soft lighting, sets the tone for a delightful evening. One of the standout aspects of FAIDANG Thai Restaurant is its exceptional customer service. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the menu. They take the time to explain the dishes, offer recommendations, and ensure that every detail of your visit is tailored to your preferences. The servers are friendly and efficient, making sure your glass is always full and your plate is never empty. The restaurant's attention to detail begins with the complimentary appetizer, which arrives with a side of sweet chili sauce. This indulgent touch elevates the simple act of appetizer-eating to a new level. The crispy wontons' crunchy texture and the sweet and spicy flavors of the sauce perfectly complement the fresh, zesty flavors of the appetizer, making it a delightful start to your meal. For the main course, the Massaman Curry with beef is a must-try. This dish is a masterclass in rich, satisfying flavors and textures. The beef is tender, juicy, and exploding with flavor. The potatoes add a delightful soft element, while the peanuts provide a satisfying crunch. All of this is tied together by a rich, savory sauce that perfectly balances spicy and sweet notes. In addition to these standout dishes, FAIDANG Thai Restaurant also offers a variety of other Thai-inspired options, including appetizers, salads, and noodle dishes. Each dish is carefully crafted to showcase the unique flavors and spices of Thai cuisine, and the chefs are happy to adjust the spice level to suit your preferences. The restaurant also offers a selection of refreshing cocktails and Thai-inspired desserts, such as mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream.
Small, intimate, not loud you can converse comfortably and the food is really good! Service with heart. It's a yes for me. I'll be back!
One of the best authentic Thai restaurants around. Try them if you haven't yet.
The best Thai restaurants in San Diego!
Ordered spicy green beans and barely any food came with it at a level 4 and also some pad Thai at a 4. The pad Thai was extremely spicy. Prices are way high for what you get. Will not be going back.
Best pad Thai I've had in a very long time. East County has a gem here.
Both curries were not bad, but just ok.
the BEST thai food ever. the yellow chicken curry, rama thai, and iced teas are consistently excellent and fairly priced. service is so excellent- been a patron since 2019 and everything's been exceptional every visit since then.
Amazing food great flavor and customer service.
Always great food! Very friendly and gracious staff. Never found anything I didn't like!
Perfect traditional thai dishes with thai spices. Great service and always bustling!
Authentic Thai food in Santee, very good.
I'm vegan and I order the drunken noodles without the oyster sauce and with tofu and veggies, the yellow curry with tofu and veggies, the spring rolls with tofu instead of shrimp and the Tom kha soup...always fresh, delicious and great fast service, love this place and happy it's so close to home!
Delicious food, great service! That’s all we need. I’ve been eating orange chicken from so many different restaurants, different cuisines and theirs is hands down the best I’ve had!
Calamari was good, crunchy. Pad see ew was a tad dry , pineapple fried rice was okay.

If you have a sweet tooth, go for the mango sticky rice or the Thai iced tea, you won't regret it!
I was craving Thai and we decided to try Sab-E-Lee on Mission Gorge Rd. We ordered to go. They were quick and the food was wonderful. We lived about 20 minutes away and the food was still hot by the time we got home. Chicken pad Thai, yellow curry, Tom kah soup. Don’t forget the Thai iced tea. Yummy!
The lunch specials here are a great deal! I had the red curry (fantastic) and it comes with a salad, spring roll, rice, and fruit. The ambience inside is very nice and the service was super friendly and efficient.
It would make a good date night spot too. Great experience!
I stopped by here for the first time on my way to work and thought I'd try a new dish. I was going to get one of the lunch specials but they don't do those to-go. I got the Panang curry and mango sticky rice. I usually get yellow curry or pad see ewe at Thai places, and now I can add a new dish to my list. It was just right. It wasn't overly sweet like some places I've had curry and the flavors were rich. The chicken was tender, unlike so many places that somehow dry out the chicken despite it being in a curry broth. The mango sticky rice was a delight. The coconut sauce complimented the rice very well and the mango was perfectly ripe. The sauce might have been a little too sweet because it overpowered the taste of the mango. I ended up eating the mango first so I could actually taste it, and then ate the sticky rice with the sauce. I tried a few bites with everything together, but like I said, the coconut sauce masked the mango despite it being perfectly ripe. I would definitely come back to try something new.
Always really good Pad Thai. The best in Santee
We got this to-go when we went. I've lived in Santee all my life and this was the 1st time I've tried this place!!! My Wife said the Chicken Pad Thai was good and she was not wrong. Very much looking forward to our next visit! EXCELLENT food! Downright addicting!
If you have time be sure to dine in. If you get take out it is not as good. Be sure to dine in.
The best Thai restaurant! We went here to celebrate our friends’ birthdays and it was a good decision that we picked this place. Excellent food, everything was delicious and the owner is nice and friendly!
Food and service were good but not great. Enjoyed our meal but not likely somewhere I would frequent regularly. I had a ginger entree (can't remember name) that was a good choice if you like ginger. Disappointed in the spring rolls. Not as much flavor as I would like and I didn't care for their peanut sauce.
The best go to place for Thai food in East County...!!!
Well done !! 😎💥👍☀️
Compared to the Linda Vista location, the curry portions were uneven. We ordered red and green curry and the green was half the size. The dark larb was a generous portion but the flavor goes to the LV location. For two curry's, duck larb and two portions of brown rice the total was super high, about $65. For about that price at Thai Taste in La Mesa we get 4 dishes and spring rolls.
A thai restaurant with delicious food. We like the Pad Thai. The fish cakes were also tasty. Tom Kah soup was great. Good service and nice atmosphere.
Worst experience ever tonight. Service was horrible. I literally seeing all other tables and to go customers getting their food besides me. The server kept saying it’s coming but it was not, so it is a lie to me. It turned out my order was misplaced and never went in the kitchen. 40 mins later, food was here but no mood of eating it all, so we paid and left with no tip. The new owner runs this restaurant and goes downhill for sure. I know the previous owner and definitely not carrying their reputation.
Really hate writing this. Sabelee has been my favorite Thai place in East County for many years. However, twice now in the past few months, I've experienced this rude staff member that stares at his phone behind the counter the whole time, playing what I assume are loud TV shows. It's extremely distracting for us, but even more so for this person who should be doing his job. Good luck getting his attention. You either gotta get up and wave your hand in his face or yell very loudly.
The first time I didn't mention anything (just left no tip, for the first time in my life). This time this rude person wasn't our server, so I kindly told our wonderful server that this person really should stay off his phone. She told me that apparently this guy is the boss. So I guess he can do what he wants. But if you're the boss, you might want to give some consideration to how this is impacting your bottom line.
I'm gonna take a break from Sabelee. I'm sure I'll try them again someday, and hopefully this guy is nowhere to be found.
Good food. Portions are reasonable, leaving room for appetizers, and delicious mango sticky rice dessert.
Great place, excellent staff, good food
Good Food and healthy portions.
Best Thai food hands down. Love this place. Family and I love eating here.
The BEST thai food doesn't get any better than this.
Their dishes are ok. However their service sucks. Most of their waitresses are very impatient and their attitude are pretty mean. I will not go the this restaurant in rancho penasquitos. They just ruin my appetite.
Good Thai Food
I and my wife like this place. The food is really good.
Best Thai food I have had in San Diego area. Definetly the best priced food as well, if you are in the SD area it is definetly worth the visit and they are usually dead for the most part. My favorite spot to always stop by when I'm in town.
I feel like this place gets better and more authentic the more I go here. Loved my food, service was excellent! Couldn't ask for more!
Very good food but very expensive service was wonderful.
Pretty good Thai food. Have gone there several times for lunch. A little out of the way at the west end of town but worth the drive. Friendly staff.
* Update. New owners have remodeled over the past year and it is much nicer inside. Good food and friendly staff with excellent service.
their portions keep getting smaller and smaller every time we go and their prices keep going up! great flavor.
Really nice lunch here. One of the only places in San Diego I found that does a proper Thai Omelette! Everything was really tasty. The Papaya Salad was nice and properly spicy. We love this delicious place. Always overeat here cuz everything is so great 😃 Usually get crab rangoon, egg rolls and crispy shrimp to start, then some of my faves are the king curry w tofu, garlic rice (yummy!!), Panang curry , chow mein, and the fried rice dishes. Delicious !!
Best Thai food in East County.
Terrible food!
The peanut sauce was mostly water.
The chicken was extremely overcooked and tough.
An expensive disappointment.
Tasty authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. Spicy like in Thailand if you're asking for it. We had papaya salad, egg roles and chicken satay 😋
Extremly delicious thai food. Not a busy place. Average dish is roughly $12 -15 a plate. A variety appetizers, soups, and noodles to choose from. Love how you have the options to chose your proteins and spice levels from 1- 10. Waiter was very attentive. Resturant was clean.
Not great, hardly good, pad was ok at best. If youve had good thai food you wont appreciate this.
One of the most delicious Thai curry’s I have had in America!!!! The depth in the curry when you take the first bite is so crisp and almost refreshing as the heat touches your pallet!!!!
Amazing job can’t wait to eat again!!!!
Super good, maybe my favorite Thai restaurant.
Clean floors ,very neat. Very good haircut.
There is hope in the restaurant industry! This place is so delicious. I've become obsessed with this place lately. The food is great and the portions are fair for their prices.
The place is super clean and cute. The service is amazing and you can tell that they are grateful for your service.
The food comes out in a timely manner and at the same time. They listen to directions with custom orders and never mess up. This is all so incredibly rare these days sadly. Highly recommend this place if you want good good and a great overall experience.
Great service and food
Every single thing was delicious on the menu. Super friendly staff and super helpful on suggestions.
Delicious
We always love the food from here.
tom kha
I've been going here for several years -- about a decade, actually! It is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. They're always friendly and their food is consistently tasty. My favorites are: drunken noodles, Thai Iced tea, pad Thai, orange chicken, and pineapple fried rice. Of course, ALL of their curries are solid.
Favorite dessert: their homemade coconut ice cream!
Recently visited here. Tried drunken noodles. Good food service can be better.
Consistently excellent food, good prices. Very quick for take out, great place.
Super friendly customer service, big portions, fresh ingredients and super tasty!!! The best Thai food restaurant in San Diego and we've been to quite a few. Highly recommended!
Great food, service, and prices
I’ve been eating here since I was 12 years old! By far the best Thai food in San Diego. The prices are really good, the food quality is consistent, the ingredients are always fresh and the family who owns it are the nicest people in the world! Personal favorites: Drunken noodles, red curry, Thai fried rice, and king’s curry! The Tom Kah soup is really good too.
I’ve probably eaten hundreds of meals here, and never once have I been disappointed. BEST FOOD IN SAN DIEGO!!!!
Their service is kind and quick. The quality of the meals are excellent and the price makes it easy to eat here often!
This place is really good 👍. I love it
Did the job
Loved the yellow curry & panang curry, friendly service, travel 20 min. to eat here. Very good!
Great chicken satay but super skimpy on the peanut sauce! And the peanut sauce is a little thin. The egg rolls are great too.
The people at the counter are so very kind and friendly, it's a pleasure giving them my business.
One of best places in in this area
This thai restaurant has very good food. The price is very reasonable. I will go back again to eat.
Delicious and great service
Good food for a very reasonable price!
They didn t have my size of Cobian flip flops this time. Bummer
Spiced to your liking and delicious. You get a big portion for a good price. The service is always courteous and kind. Sab-E-Lee I'd our "go to" for Thai!
Authentic spicy and good
Spring 2021 covid-19 togo review.
Great Thai restaurant in Santee. Quick, easy, affordable and delicious.
Called for takeout during the dinner rush, was still ready in 15minutes. Easy pick up. Plenty of food.
Ordered: pineapple fried rice, pad see ew/drunken noodles, yellow curry, and fried wonton. Great family style meal that served 4 with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.
Currently togo only.
Their Cashew Nut Chicken is wonderful.
Yummy place.
First time there. Good food, large portions. It was a take out order, no napkins, no utensils? Really. We went to the park. 😢
Great Thai food
👍🥰
This was my 1st time here. I've been wanting to try it for sometime and it did not disappoint. My boys had the Chicken Satay. It looked and smelled amazing. My husband decided to be adventurous and try the Drunken Noodles w/chicken (medium heat). While it wasn't his cup of tea it seemed to be cooked well and the portion was generous. He also got fried eggs rolls which were fine. I stayed within my normal range and got Chicken w/Noodles soup with wontons. The soup was quiet good and the wontons were crispy and filling. Overall, it was a good experience. Service was quick and courteous. I will definitely return. I do wish they had online order capabilities as well as delivery but not a huge problem.
fantastic food and wonderful customer service
