Ordering was fast with lots of options. The fried dumplings are good, but the ingredients didn’t say it had ginger but I can taste a bit of ginger, so I don’t like them. The outter layer is nice and crunchy though. The Pad See Ew is not very flavorful and the noodles are a bit all stuck together. Lots of veggies and good portion though.

The presentation is also beautiful. The people who work here are kind and have a calm energy that makes you feel welcome and at home. Such amazing food if you’re a vegan. They even had chowmein, which usually would be made with egg, but it’s vegan here. If you have dairy allergy, are lactose intolerant, or just live a vegan life — this spot is it. They’re next door to a vegan sushi spot too, didn’t try it… but seems interesting. The ambiance is really not one to rave about. There’s only one bathroom for the entire plaza and it requires a code, so just keep that in mind. We took the food for takeout, so still had the comfort of our home to eat if, but 10/10 for taste and food. 😊

As other reviewers have said, huge portions. The steamed dumplings were good, the Thai tea with almond milk was very well balanced - not too sweet or heavy. The Pad Thai was such a big portion with a good mix of vegetables, tofu, soy beef, and flavor. Someone else ordered what I’m assuming was yellow curry fried rice that I want to try next time because it looked so good.

If you’re in the area this is definitely a good spot to hit up!

The food was so on point! But they have specific dining hours so we had to wait outside under a covered dining area, with it being cold it wasn’t fun, but the food warmed me up. I recommend the spring rolls!

Location is good. Food is alright. Just had the Tom Ka. Asked for maximum extra spicy and said it twice to make sure she understood. What I got was maybe a 3 spicy tops on the 1-10 scale. Veggies were somewhat overcooked as well. It came out fast though. Dine-in comes in paper bowls.

Thai Vegan was absolutely delicious! I came for lunch at around 11:30, and had food by 11:50. I got the massomun curry, which might have been some of the most delicious massomun curry I've ever had! It was cooked to perfection, with delicious spices. I will have to come again when visiting Santa Monica! Cannot reccomend enough!

Decided to try this place as it was all vegan items. I ordered the pad thai and added their beef substitute to try it. I wasn't a fan of the dish in general. The sauce was more on the sweet than tart side. The beef substitute was okay but didn't really go with pad thai. Overall, it was okay but I would have to try more items to really decide on if this place is worth it or not.

We love Thai Vegan. Their Pad Thai is so good, and the portions are so large, it's hard to finish in one sitting. Their prices are excellent compared to any takeout place, and the pickup orders are always ready sooner than expected. They are fast and efficient. We've been going there for years, and feel lucky to have them close by.

The vegan food here is very good, flavorful, and quick. The atmosphere can use some cleaning up as I wasn’t even sure if the restaurant was open, and the seating inside is lacking. It would also be nice for the dine in orders to come with real silverware. Eating large veggies or tofu with a flimsy plastic spoon wasn’t very enjoyable. Highly recommend the curry dishes!

Ordered the Pad Thai with soy chicken.
In my opinion the Amy's Pad Thai tv dinners are better than this. Also I got soy chicken with it but they put only like 3 little pieces of chicken and the rest was tofu. The Thai tea without ice was on point though and I like my fresh coconut, but yeah maybe I'll just stick to buying food from the Organic market or make the walk to the vegan market store/ cafe near Venice Beach idk its new name it used to be called Besties. Hopefully this helps my fellow vegans.

Amazing food

Decent food. I had the vegetable dumplings, and found the portion size quite small, even though it was indicated as a special entrée. The rest of my party had noodle dishes which did look a lot bigger, although the sauces on them were too sweet and not very flavorful. You order food and get a device that rings and vibrates (loudly) if your food is ready to pick up. There are places to sit at the back but they are barebones and not cosy (in their storage room basically).

Had dumplings and spicy fried rice. Food out quick and was yummy. Not as many places to sit.

Prices keep going up, but portions still stay great and ingredients taste fresh. Love the spicy mint noodles, and the pad thai is always a nice guilty pleasure. The curries are good too, though I wish those portions were bigger.

Have been going here since they opened and each dish was $6. They have kept their prices low and food is very tasty. Not a lot of seating, but great food to pick up and eat on the beachfront. Recommend the yellow or green curry, spicy mint noodle, spicy veggie rice, tofu and satay sauce, som tum and when they have it, the sticky rice and mango is exceptional. They only make it when they can get the right mangoes, so order when the have it

I’ve tried some basic choices like pad see ew and pad thai. Unfortunately, both of them were quite tasteless. Plus for compostable packaging. I’m not sure about their other food, but they definitely cater SM palette.

This is just Thai food with ingredients removed to make it vegan. It's not particularly interesting. They don't do anything to make it special.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, it was raining the day I visited. If anyone knows about Los Angeles during rain, everything kind of malfunctions. Most people just stay home or call a day off of work. But they didn't and they were open. First things first, the sitting area is really small, we shared a table with a family. It was cold and the floor was wet. The bathroom was outside of the restaurant and across the lot, which, with or without rain, is an inconvenience. And the food was okay. Some of the food was bland. The positive side, the food was hot so it kept us warm on a cold rainy night.

I loved the fresh rolls! I saw lots of other people really enjoying and recommending their foods, too. Totally vegan and yummy. It’s a tiny tiny place that makes amazing food and has a small indoor space with a nice patio outdoors. In a really cool area, too!

Great clean, affordable and friendly little place serving fresh and tasty authentic vegan Thai food. One of our dishes - the Veg Tofu Fried Rice - didn’t quite match up to the rest in flavor but that was the only negative. The overall standard was very high!

Big portions and tasty food. It feels SO great to be able to order whatever you like from a Thai place and know it’s vegan. The outdoor seating is chill, but there’s no bathroom and you’re required to trash everything when you’re done which feels kind of wasteful. A recycling area would be great for things like drinks cans. This is a great spot if you’re walking between Venice and Santa Monica.

One of my favorite places in the area. Food always tastes great and authentic. Papaya salad and pineapple fried rice are my favorites. I have never tried vegan shrimps before and it tastes really strange, so I’m not recommend to trying it

Fantastic prices and portion sizes, but I'm from the Midwest and this restaurant wouldn't survive the competition in Madison at all. Fresh and clean food, but choice of veggies was mundane. On the coast you really expect to be wowed but not even close. They are vegan and we love them for it, just not impressed with flavor etc.

This is a cootsie patootsie little place. Tucked in a little corner of an otherwise not so mention able building. Plants, sun umbrellas, tables outside. Hard to choose if you are vegan. Portions are big, veggies are crunchy and taste is very lovely. Would certainly visit again

One of my FAVORITE restaurants in LA. oh my gosh, the pad Thai is INSANELY good!! The imitation to “real” meat is so on point, yet not close enough that it’s scary! Please come here and get the pad Thai with chick’n it’s incredible.

Very delicious, definitely coming back here next time I'm in the area I'm sensitive to spice but the curry wasn't too spicy for me, just the perfect level.

I think the people commenting about a lack of flavor have lost their taste from COVID, the food was perfectly spiced. Items like the dumplings and the steamed veggie soup aren't heavily spiced because they're not supposed to be.

We came here for the first time in December 2015. We are grateful that Thai Vegan is still in business as of February 2022. Covid precautions are in place. There’s only outdoor seating. The food was yummy as usual I thought the spring rolls were a little dry and the ingredients not as fresh as before on this visit.

The pineapple curry was super yummy. It had a very generous amount of fresh pineapple pieces in it.

Thai Vegan is a great spot for noodles and Thai food that is 100% vegan. Our favorites are the Pad Thai, the Soy Sauce Noodles (Pad See Ew), the vegetable rolls and dumplings. They also offer soy chicken, beef and shrimp to add to their dishes. They give large portions for the prices and are very consistent. Highly recommend for a tasty vegan Thai experience for the right price.

This is the Tom Yum soup I got. I have eaten this soup all across the US and in 4 places in Thailand and I think I know what to expect. When I asked them if maybe it’s an error they said that this is how they make the soup.. well it was disgusting. The veggies were overcooked, no flavor whatsoever of lemongrass, I just couldnt eat it. So dissapointed. I would not recommend this place

Place is really affordable. I suggest purchasing one item like my lady and I hade purchased; mixed vegetables with tofu and then we added veggie chicken to it. Then we ordered two brown rice on the side. I think the total was under 24 bucks. And it's two blocks away from the beach you can't beat that! I give it five stars because I am vegetarian and it's close to the beach, it's affordable and you can get veggie beef veggie chicken pretty much everything they have vegetarian! There is this one place in silver lake Los Angeles called vegan Thai and seriously that is off the chain that deserves like a 10 star!

Used to be a favorite spot but you can tell with popularity comes lack of service. The food is amazing, expect lengthy wait times, mean stares and just lack of interest in you as a patron. I hate leaving this review but they’re just not that interested in your business. Probably due to the high volume of foot traffic, but doesn’t hurt to be polite as a counter staff and reciprocate the respect.
