This is an authentic Thai restaurant with actual Thai cooks and staff. The menu has food that I can only find in Thailand. The prices are reasonable, and the food tastes great. The staff is pretty friendly. I ate here on a Saturday night, and it wasn't busy. They offer takeaway.
Tasty Thai food, I had the microb, it's deep fried rice noodles, and is candied, means it's really sweet, it is an acquired taste, not everyone likes very sweet dishes. And it's not served hot, rather in room temperature. I loved it. Also ordered the vegetable fried rice, it has kind of a smokey barbecue flavor, wow it was so yummy good. Highly recommend.
The atmosphere was calm, clean. The music was somber and in great taste. As I waited for my take order I was offered water by two staff members. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp and an order of steamed dumplings. The food was hot and delicious at first bite. You can smell the freshness through the bag.
I ordered carry out from here. Food was phenomenal. Good portion sizes. We ordered four dishes for 3 people and had a bunch left over even after helping ourselves to seconds. I'm not sure if they have parking in the back, but meter parking out front during dinner time is a pain even when all I was trying to do was put my hazards on for a quick minute. Can't comment on the in-restaurant experience, but take-out experience was great!
Fantastic wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Kind and courteous. We had an event with 35 people and they took great care of us all in their private room. Surprisingly great place for a private event..
Excellent choice for Thai cuisine in Santa Monica. This is a beautifully decorated restaurant with strong customer service, so I highly recommend coming in for dinner. A cool perk? If you check-in via Yelp, you'll receive a free Thai Iced Tea.
My friend was running an hour late for dinner, but the staff was extremely considerate letting me wait so long at the booth. They must have refilled my water 7+ times, but always with a warm smile.
My favorite dishes are the Eggplant with Basil and brown rice, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai with chicken. You can't go wrong here!
Fantastic Thai food at this spot! I loved that everything was tasty and huge portions! The service was incredible and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The inside is clean and spacious and over a fantastic place to eat in Santa Monica!
For take out we ordered 2 curry dishes (with several other dishes, the order was over $100) and received no rice. Evidently you have to order rice as an extra.
Quality has declined while prices have increased. Very disappointing and no longer recommend after ordering for years
Food is very good. Portions shrunk when they moved to this new location. Everything used to be huge portions. Plenty to take home. Now not so much. Prices stayed the same I think tho. Service hit or miss.
I can't believe how quickly my food came ! Unbelievable.
Fantastic wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Kind and courteous. We had an event with 35 people and they took great care of us all in their private room. Surprisingly great place for a private event..
Very nice atmosphere, friendly services
Thai Dishes used to be great. Ordered Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Green Curry and Pork Ribs. We ate enough not to be hungry and threw the rest away. Terrible. Go to another Thai place the food was not good.
We've been regular take-out customers from Thai Dishes for easily over 20 years beginning long before they moved from their 19th and Wilshire location to 26th and Wilshire. The food has never been the same since the move, but tonight was the worst ever! Not a single dish was made fresh. No fresh vegetables, no recently cooked meat and even the Pad Thai noodles were days old. And instead of the Pumpkin Curry with chicken that we ordered, it arrived with soggy, over-cooked and unappetizing shrimp instead. Terrible! I'm not sure we'll give them one more chance after tonight, but if there's ever again a repeat of tonight, it will certainly be our last with another scathing revue to follow!!!

Excellent all around.
Fantastic Thai food at this spot! I loved that everything was tasty and huge portions! The service was incredible and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The inside is clean and spacious and over a fantastic place to eat in Santa Monica!
Absolutely delicious and perfectly satiated!
There was a large group of drunk people making a lot of noise.
The atmosphere was calm, clean. The music was somber and in great taste. As I waited for my take order I was offered water by two staff members. I ordered the chow mein with shrimp and an order of steamed dumplings. The food was hot and delicious at first bite. You can smell the freshness through the bag.
Great food and such friendly service
Came here for a lunch, got a pad see ew. Big portions, delicious, great value for money.
No te
The food here is not great, it is under seasoned. They also often get orders wrong, I ordered noodles yesterday and got tom kha soup.
But when you live on the west side this passes for Thai food, I guess?
I used to like eating at Thai Dishes, but my recent visit left much to be desired. I ordered the Chicken Panang Curry lunch special, and while the soup was alright, the rest of the meal was really disappointing.
The fried wonton lacked crispiness and was soggy, and the curry was overly thick, making it feel too heavy. The chicken had a rubbery texture, and the flavors didn’t seem as authentic as I remember. The brown rice was hard and grainy, which made it difficult to enjoy.
To top it off, I felt uneasy for the rest of the day after eating, which is never a good sign. Unfortunately, this will probably be my last visit to this restaurant.
Simply, just not good food :/
My favourite restaurant in Santa Monica.
The spices that was added were good
Great place.

Thai isn't my thing, but everyone else loved it.
Fun welcoming place with great food.
Never have I ever gotten a pad Thai as dried and cold as this one.. No fixings, Just a dry noodle dish. Witch by the way doesn't look like Pad-thai noodles they look like top ramen noodles. Food massacre.
Ordered food that was never delivered. Had to go to the restaurant just to get them to make my order. Then waited again. Over two hours for some chicken and rice.
We go to Thai Dishes (2628 Wilshire, Santa Monica) regularly, and it’s always a great time, but I would like to acknowledge our recent visit which stands out in my mind as one of my most striking restaurant experiences.
My friend had previously had a dish and was looking forward to having it again.
She ordered it but it didn’t taste the same. We asked the kitchen to try again but once again it wasn't right. The kitchen tried a third time, but no luck. My friend wanted to give up but the manager came over and pleaded with us to try one more time.
She went back to the kitchen and it was determined that the dish my friend had previously was a special recipe. They found that recipe and used it, and my friend was very happy. The manager was exceptionally solicitous and tried as hard as she could without being overbearing to get my friend what she wanted. Her effort to make my friend happy (not necessarily an easy task) was so striking that I felt compelled to write this review.
In a way this might not sound like a big deal but it was the strength of the sincerity that was so impressive.
Thank you Thai Dishes. We look forward to many future great experiences at your restaurant.
Favorite Thai restaurant in Santa Monica!

It was ok. The food was good, but kinda bland. We ordered a number of different dishes. Chicken sate, egg rolls, fried wonton, squid, tofu, fish soup. Service was good. We went in the afternoon, not a lot of people inside. We had a good time though.
This restaurant is one of my favorites in town/ city go to places.
I like their food. They won't serve new customers after 9:45 PM due to the kitchen closing. I have been turned away twice arriving after 9:45 PM. When food was not as I wanted they replaced it. Thank you!
Fav Thai place in LA so far!
The food is tasty and filing. I bought the combination fried rice, which was very tasty and delicious. The grilled chicken is what I personally did not enjoy.
Their Pad Thai noodles aren’t good.
Celebrated a birthday with a few guests
One of the top 3 Thai places in the area
What a disappointment. Where do I start? I asked the waitress to make my yum ka ka a mix of veggies and tofu - same amount not extra (vs tofu or vegetables) her answer “we can’t.” I said of course you can, “no we can’t” then she said “you can add vegetables” so I said so you can have tofu and veggies but you won’t without charging me.
The soup had 1 mushroom and a pound of flavorless tofu - no lemon grass or tomato, nothing but water weak coconut water and tofu. It was also salty. Worse I’ve ever had.
The curry was inedible due to being too rich. So the soup was weak and the curry was overly rich.
The portions are small.
The charge extra for rice.
The price is outrageous - 2 people was 75$ - no drinks.
Place sucks and it used to be good. Too bad
Love the food here. Have been coming here for years. Always good and kind.
Delicious food and service ❤️
Good Thai food, nice decor, great service
Nice place looks expensive inside, but it is not. The servers are friendly and nice. The food is great, very tasty, and good. Will be back again
Prices are about 50% higher than what you'd pay in Thai Town, and the flavors aren't nearly as good. Noodle dishes start at $16, and if you add meat or veggies, they go up from there. The ChowNow link wasn't functional (wouldn't allow orders until tomorrow), and the prices listed on the restaurant's own webpage are incorrect (the real prices are higher).
Food-wise, the noodles were lightly spiced and oily. Curry was starchy (like a thickener was added), which was quite odd. Neither dish would cut it in Thai Town.
There may not be better options in Santa Monica north of Pico—I don't know. All I know is we have many great Thai restaurants in greater Los Angeles, and sadly this is not one of them.
Sublime. Lap d'exception Tom Yum soupe de même
Looks nice, she forgot to take a drink order, food came out suspiciously fast and chicken was tough. Worst Thai I’ve had in LA, and I’ve had better Thai in Palmdale. Yikes
Great Thai food. And service. Everything is good here. I think this restaurant should be more popular. Maybe it's just slightly obscure even though it's on Wilshire boulevard
Always great food..best Thai on the Westside. Better than ever. New location is BEAUTIFUL..
Without a doubt, it is the best Thai restaurant we have ever been to around the world. The food is incredible, and the host is lovely. If you are around here, you have to try it. You won’t regret it!
Frequent, customer. Great food, we mostly take out, but nice place to dine in.
BEST KEPT SECRET IN LOS ANGELES;
Been going here for at least 30 years.., they recently relocated up the street from where they were . Hands down best Thai food , Chicken will melt in your mouth so fresh and well prepared...,my favorite place to eat!!
My first time in their new location. The food and service are still great, and the atmosphere is nicer! Glad this local favorite is still around… recommended.
Beatiful place food was good,
BEST THAI FOOD EVER!!*
has been in Santa Monica community for over 42yrs.
Fresh Delicious Perfectly Prepared Food *CONSISTENTLY
EXCELLENT!!!!*
New location, same great food
Fantastic food - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Enjoyed the Green Curry with tofu and brown rice. Pro-tip: ask for extra veggies!
Can't lose = Attentive, kind staff with vast knowledge of the menu + modernized, clean, well-appointed interior + easy parking on Princeton or behind the location or in the New Balance store's loy
Nice restaurant with plenty of options for Vegans and Vegetarians. I had the Pad see ew (minus the egg), which was ok; I had better.
Service could be better too.
Notice that their Health score is B.
It’s such a bad decision to dine here.
Prices are okay BUT Food is not great.
Service sucks, the waitress was rude, pushy and not patient.
I like to order my soup eat it and then order food.
She had such a bad bad bad attitude.
The skinnier lady was extremely friendly and service oriented but she was not our waitress, she realized our group are uncomfortable with the attitude of the chubby waitress so she was trying to accommodate us!
Do not wait your money there are plenty other Thai food restaurant with a great food and service.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!
The one star is for the skinny lady who helped us.
Watch your bill, they add the tip even if you are 4 people! I am sure she was afraid we won’t tip her!
Another minus.
Overall BAD WORSE AND WORST!!!
Very clean and nice place, the food was amazing and with good price. I highly recommend the honey ribs. They are red pork ribs with sweat honey sauce witch sent me to heaven. Would come again.
Coconut milk from a can, glass noodles for pad Thai .. if you have eaten Thai food in Thailand don't bother eating here.
Can't wait to eat there again. We ordered 3 lunches for the 3 of us and we ended up stuffed and took 2/3rds of the food home for more meals. Great atmosphere and the 3 dishes we ordered were delicious. We had pad thai, pad see ew, and pad kee mao. All 3 were noodle dishes. Next time we will try the panang curry, basil chicken, and the tom kha gai coconut based soup. Lunch prices are excellent considering a single entre can feed 3 people!
Spicy basil fried was good. Appetizers were just ok.
Tasty food, inexpensive for Thai food, friendly staff
Very good food but portion maybe more for hungry guy or gal
The atmosphere is great, Service was good, the food was okay. I had better Thai food before.
Nice new place, quality of food low grade
Ordered their Siamese duck entree. It was basically inedible. The duck tasted like chalk. Everything else was fine, but when I called the restaurant they were not helpful. Have ordered from them regularly. Won’t happen again.
My girlfriend and I have come here dozens of times and our experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. You cannot have better Thai food or staff. We live around the corner and come here weekly. We have never had one single experience that is less than fantastic. Thai Dishes is the best you will find in Santa Monica and LA. From the panang to the fried rice, it is truly incredible.
The hostess/waitress got our order wrong. Her hearing or English was off. We ordered vegan and was served chicken. Which was rectified. No one asked how our meal was until after we paid the bill and we were walking out the door. Literally.
The food is not only incredible but the people who work there as well, you feel very welcomed and at home when you are there. It's a very comforting experience in both aspects, food and service!
For a very cold and windy day Coconut soup..very spacious new location...
2 of us, we asked for hot tea, she bought 2 large teapots (odd) and seemed irritated when we said we only needed one pot. Also, $4 each for a teabag in a pot. Sauces seemed watery and not very authentic. We had to flag the waitress down to order our entree after we finished our appetizers. Hopefully, this is not the norm, and this review will help them improve.
Great space and
Decor is beautiful
Horrible customer service!
Asked to pick up take out and they left me on hold twice:
• 1st time for 5 minutes
• 2nd after calling back time for 10 minutes
Then they blocked my number...
We stopped here just to try a new Thai spot in the neighborhood and I was so impressed. (I never give reviews btw) This place is SO CLEAN! Like brand new looking (apparently because they just moved to this location) and the food was amazing (and huge portions)
We had pineapple curry, fried rice, cashew chicken, egg rolls, and the pork (can’t remember the name appetizer). Can’t wait to go back with friends. Also waitstaff was really attentive and again…SO CLEAN!!
Delicious, but $26 for red curry beef and a side of sticky rice ($4 itself) is outrageous.
Recommend the yellow curry. Pad thai was very bland.
It was okay but nothing I'd eat again with other options available. Everything was sweet and same-y.
The new location is Fantastic.
👏💯
Liars, menu on their website says one price, then when you order it they charge you more.
New digs, upgrade on food!
Terrible.
I recently made an online order and when picking up my food I asked the employee for some change to give a cash tip...Before giving me change he decided to mention to me that I did not include a tip on my order...huh?
When did tipping on take out orders become a thing? It's getting ridiculous.
I just drove in the rain to pick up my food buddy ... Waiters / Waitresses and delivery folk get tips for service when delivering food or eating inside a restaurant.
Tipping is discretionary and not automatic.
There are many other great Thai Restaurant options in Santa Monica...This place is off my list.
This is your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant. It offers portions that are just enough to keep you sated. The pricing is very reasonable, especially compared to other Santa Monica and Wilshire spots. Now on to the food:
I ordered the Pad See Ew, one of my (and many others) favorite Thai dish. The noodles had great consistency and soaked up the sweet and salty sauce. I do usually prefer when they use Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan), but the regular broccoli was still well cooked.
I also ordered the Pad Thai. It was pretty good. My only complaint is that they used a very thin noodle instead of a more broad noodle, but this is more of a personal preference. Everything else was well executed.
The fried rice was a bit disappointing. It would be decent as a small side but I wouldn’t recommend it as a main course. The rice was a bit mushy and the veggies didn’t combine that well. Overall it had good flavor, but just lacked balance.
Due to how close and convenient this place is to me, I’ll likely come back here. Give this place a try if you want some solid Thai takeaway!
Service is good but everything is too drenched in sugar, and the rice is extremely overcooked.
Great new location
Please don’t go here, if you do you’ll get a dirty atmosphere and singing flies entertaining you as you eat the nasty food over all horrible service.
Been coming here since I was a kid and I'm 40 now. Great food great service. Reasonably priced
Very kind employees and the food was insanely good & fresh!
Spectacular!
Ordered a sweet mango sticky rice and very disppointed with portion. $9.92 for just half of a small mango and a toast size piece of rice. I eat out at a lot of Thai places and usually get the whole mango for the $10 bucks. Smh.
Good Thai restaurant at Wilshire and 19th. It's been here quite a while, and they know what they're doing. There are better Thai restaurants in the LA area, no doubt. But this is the best one I've found in Santa Monica, and certainly produces credible food.
Very tasty food, nice staff, you won't be disappointed.
One of the few classic Sta Monica restaurants still working. Most have closed or gone. Sad.
Yummy. Thailand restaurant. Friendly Services. Nice place
First Thai experience ever and awesome.
Delicious Thai food
Best thai food have been coming here for years
I order chicken Satay and mixed Chow main to go. The chicken Satay they gave me chicken was raw and chow main was not good no taste I should've bought Panda Express the has better taste. I wish I could share the image of Raw Chicken.
Almost always ready when you pick it up
a very long wait .... here you can wait forever for your order .... the service is out of order ..... a mess.Well, if the order is not ready, not nearly ready, why do you indicate that you are ready to force people to stand there for 30-40 minutes in a queue, wasting your time and nerves.
My new favorite for Tom Yum soup. Also had the Panyang curry and both dishes were incredible. Good service, food served quick, and the presentation was beautiful. Definitely going back soon
Not sure how they got more than 4 stars... I ordered Papaya Salad, Tomyum Noodle Soup and Tomka Noodle Soup. Papaya Salad was sweet and not a even little spicy. The Tomyum Soup was extremely sweet instead of sour & spicy. This place has nice photos but definitely not authentic!!!!
I went here to pick up food while at Providence St John's, it was a conveniently short walk. The pork pad ke mow was tasty and a good portion, and the egg rolls were solid. Also it was ready quickly!
Awesome food and drinks!!! Highly recommended
The food is not good here. The service is great and the location is nice but the food was below average and over priced. The meat was very low quality and the noodles in the pad se ew were over done and mushy. We were definitely disappointed and spent $45 for a gross dinner
The food is good !!
The food was quickly served and phenomenal. I highly recommend the crab fried rice. The decor was highly enjoyable as well.
Very nice
Really good food
Super friendly staffs! Food is always delicious! And always comes out fast! 👍👍👍
Im a regular at this location and I love the food. The portions are perfect if you get a single dish and the flavor is excellent. The last few times I had gone the servers were wonderful and I can't remember a time when they were anything but angels.
Solid Thai food for the area
AMAZING!!! Thai Dishes Wilshire is my favorite. Spectacular food — healthy, quality ingredients, and always consistent. Plus, an incredibly kind team & talented chefs!! Love take-out and dining in. Highly recommend. Thanks, Thai Dishes!!
yum. most perfect Tom Ka soup ever
Great food, great wait staff.
Muk Krak Tiem made at Thai Spicy level is a must try if you love heat & seafood. The green curry was nice with eggplants but huge chucks of chili (ordered thai spicy) got in the way of the curry. The chicken BBQ was average. Might have made a mistake ordering the pad thai at mild level as it was lacking in flavor... generally liked the take out and will keep on my rotation.
Love their food 😍 so amazing people/employees. been going here over 2 years always fresh good food
Excelente comida.
The reason I’m giving Thai Dishes (Wilshire) five stars in not because I think it’s the best Thai food in the country or even the best in LA, but because the food is still so good that’s it one of my favorites. It’s so close to where I’ve lived all my life that it’s possibly the restaurant I’ve eaten at more than any other in the world, and I travel. My whole family used to meet here when they were all still getting along (lol). It’s just really great Thai food with a big menu, so it’s easy to order healthy and delicious things. This restaurant has been there for so long that I remember when it was one of the three first Thai food restaurants in all of Los Angeles. It was just as good then as it is now.
Honestly, I've spoiled myself for coming here as my first Thai food experience. Never been to a better Thai restaurant.
Tasty.....tasty dishes
Ordered the beef pad thai. The noodle was delicious and flavorful but the beef was so dry and bland that I had to avoid them. Will probably try something other than beef next time.
Great food as always. We tried a new dish this time -- fried rice, and it had too much pepper. So they remade it without complaint.
The people who work here are always very friendly.
Reliable and good quality. Reasonable prices.
Worst Thai food I’ve been to
Look
MY WESTSIDE FAVORITE THAI.👍
Best Thai on the westside
The food was great and service fantastic. Thank you!
