Low-key Thai restaurant with colorfully presented curries, rice & noodle dishes, satays & more.
Came in with a girlfriend for the lunch special. It's a really cute corner place, lots of natural daylight & the decor is simple, yet elegant.
I ordered the lunch special tofu pad ma kuer & asked w soft tofu and vegan. Maybe because I asked for the dish to be changed, I found it tasting plain. There was not much flavor in my dish.
The waitress was very sweet and I will give this place another try.
Wanted to split our bill & were asked to pay with one card.

This is one of my frequent go-to Thai restaurants in the city where Thai places are common.
One of the things that I value in a restaurant is consistency of quality and these folks always roll out high standards in their servings.
And while there are so many Thai eateries in San Francisco in plenty of pockets around town and everyone has their favorites, I submit this post as a simple endorsement as a great place to try or include in your rotation.
The food is very good with plenty of selection, the place is clean and the service is prompt with reasonable pricing. That about checks off all the boxes.
One may argue about if the food here is the best, but one thing I can say for sure is that this place has the most beautiful menu lol. Plus the restaurant interior is very nice, modern, and welcoming. Of course you come here for food. So let me talk about food. The menu is quite extensive and have some authentic dishes. I tried an innovative chef's special and it tastes great: the fried shrimp topped with red curry sauce on a bed of Kanom Jean, the rice vermicelli. It tastes well rounded like traditional central Thai food. The mango and sticky rice here is legit. What surprised me is that the food here is quite well priced. Many seafood dishes are under $20 which is definitely worth it. Highly recommended if you want Thai food in a slightly upscale setting (they serve wines by glass too!) yet affordable.
I have been a fan of this spot for many years after a friend of mine got me hip to the skip. The food is always fresh, well presented and flavorful. You never taste anything odd or mysterious as it is prepared with such care. All of my friends, family and general loved ones know that this is the place I go out to dinner. I am pretty familiar with the staff although I only eat there a few times a year.
The people are warm, kind and very attentive. The level of friendliness has always been sincere. I always feel like I am visiting relatives because the experience is so easy. I highly recommend this spot. It is some of the best Thai food I have ever eaten and I grew up in San Francisco.
YUMMY!
One of our favorite Thai restaurants! They have the best Tom Ka Gai soup. The Pad See Ew is super flavorful, we always get the vegetarian option. Yellow curry is great too. They have a nice rice plate lunch special too. Nice atmosphere, good service, and super clean and easy parking.
This has *the* most delicious Thai food I’ve had in US - I miss quality Thai food since moving from Australasia and this is absolutely great so happy I discovered it !
Very delicious, fresh, friendly service, nice portions, pleasant atmosphere. It’s my go to place in the neighborhood!
I love the food, people, and atmosphere of Regent Thai!

Good food, good price. One of my favorite places
This place is freeezing. We asked th to turn up the heat or close the windows but they don’t seem to care.

Food was good, service also good.
Good Thai food with generous portions, although all the curries taste quite similar.
Really an excellent place with reasonable pricing. One of my regulars
This is the best Thai reataurant!! My family and I have been going here for over 15 years. We refer to it as “good thai” to distinguish it from the other thai places around. The food is delicious and so flavorful. Our favorites are the yellow and green curries, pad see ew, and eggplant with tofu. Everything on the menu is delicious!

coconut soup , tofu , papaya salad , and the chicken, it was all very appetizing
The best Thai food ever. I m from Thailand came to visit SF one year, never met this restaurant once.
Wow, let me tell you, everything here is absolutely top-notch! The food is beyond delicious, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and attentive. They really take care of you here. And you know what's even better? It's super easy to find parking. I can't wait to come back here again, no doubt about it!p
Absolutely delicious. Thai is my favorite cuisine and I've been to most of the notaable Thai restaurants in the city and baya area. Regent Thai most definitely supercedes other Thai restaurants in the bay area.
Service sucks, bad customer service, we went for a dinner tonight, the server keep rushing us to get out even they have a lot of empty tables, she never smiled and keep coming to the table to get the plate even we’re not finished eating the food .Its not recommended.

Such nice service the other night when I called for pickup. And I asked for the steak salad extra spicy and it was HOT! Can't wait to get it again.

The menu is extensive and varied: There are options for all tastes, from vegetarian dishes to meat and seafood options.
The prices are reasonable: The quality-price ratio is excellent.
Overall, I recommend Regent Thai Cuisine to anyone looking for a delicious Thai meal in San Francisco.
Cozy place with good quality food at reasonable prices. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Great neighborhood spot. Fans of Thai food will be pleased.
Restaurant closes at 9pm on a Friday, and if you call at 8:46pm they will tell you their kitchen already closed at 8:45pm. Of course, that is their right, but that is not the American way. In this country, especially in SF, companies need to hustle more to serve their customers. I love their food btw, it's great, but this lackluster attitude turned me off.
Talking about consistency... I have been coming here now for almost ten years and never ever had food or service that was not good. The staff is always doing the best and in my opinion you get the best Thai food outside of Thailand
AMAZING FOOD! Had the best dinner with my daughter, everything was so delicious.
Friendly staff, good food, affordable ($12-16 lunch plates before tax and tip, which imo is pretty great these days!)
Small Thai restaurant on the corner of Church and 29 street in San Francisco, we sat on the far corner of the place and order our food. We shared an order the Ton Yum Goong (spicy and sour shrimp with mushrooms, tomato and lemon grass), followed by Gai Him Ma Parn ( sliced chicken with pepper, onions, cashews and crispy chili), and the Pla Dook Tod Gro (catfish filet with egg plant, zucchinis, basil and house tamarind chili sauce) and Steam Jasmine Rice, you have to choose the level of spicy of heat from mild, medium or Thai Spicy, the food was served after waiting a few minutes and was cooked with the Thai flavor and creative presentation. The only thing that was not of our liking is the we felt rushed by the staff.
Great price/quality ratio!
Solid curries and pad see ew
I recommend the golden bags, the spices on the potatoes are awesome.
Our favorite Thai restaurant ever! We have been loyal customers for 25+ years. The food is always delicious and the service is always great.
Recently renovated, great food, great price, friendly staff!
Excellent Thai food at reasonable prices! The pad sie ew is unbelievable!
Fabulous authentic Thai food. New favorite in the city!
While it’s standard to get rice with a Thai curry dish, this place doesn’t let you know that you’ll be charged extra before asking “white rice or brown rice,” which I thought was shady. I ordered the Gaeng Dang (red curry) and it was fine - it lacked spiciness despite being a 🌶️🌶️-rated dish and the portions were less than expected (i.e. don’t expect to have enough for leftovers). The service was good, but for the price and taste I’d recommend Chili Cha Cha 2 in the Mission instead.
I've passed this place numerous times without batting an eye, so after our kids doctor appointment, we decided to grab lunch here out of convenience... I wish we'd had gone sooner!
The food was awesome! I ordered the Pad Thai with Duck and it was out of this world!!! All of the ingredients were fresh and quite honestly made it the best pad Thai I've had in the City. We also ordered the Golden Bags and Shrimp Chips, which was spectacular too. The quality of food was on point!
The service was awesome as well! There was one waitress (as we were there for lunch), but she was attentive and friendly, even bringing kids plates to the table.
We are definitely going back!!!
Extremely tasty Thai meal. Good service
Delicious pumpkin curry.
Nice people
Update 01/21/23
We came on the Chinese New Year’s Eve…food’s still amazing and the service staff are always attentive.
Reviewed 3 years ago.
The food has always been good..they portioned the dish sizes well to match the price (not expensive). So, we always order 3-4 dishes to try different things for 3 people. My favorite dish is the tofu churro!!
Just how I like it regular everyday people with excellent service and excellent food. The portions sometimes seem small but it's well worth it. Definitely one of my go to's for Thai food or just for food in general! Delicious!!
Great place for families, takeout. Love that it’s not greasy. We eat from here often. Pad thai and green curry are our favorites.
Consistently good neighborhood Thai spot. Very reasonable prices too!
Golden Salmon Curry is incredibly creamy and flavorful.
Tasty and affordable food, friendly service, and nice atmosphere!
Ate here 2 days in a row. What else can I say? Prices are great. I’d eat here again tomorrow if I was gonna be in sf another day. Stop reading other reviews. Just go. You won’t regret it.
Very deĺicious. Not greesey
Popular local place for take out or dining in.
Eh, as you'd get from any busy Thai place, fine pumpkin curry and rice. Not soggy squash, done just right
Fast, great food, great service and great atmosphere!
And it’s cheap! I don’t understand how a place this great in San Francisco can have this great of prices.
100% worth a try for anyone considering.
Delicious and very friendly servers!
On y mange très bien, pour pas trop chère. Personnel sympa.
So we live very close and Regent WAS our go to Thai restaurant. At some point either just before or during the pandemic they must of changed hands. We gave them several trys and have sadly decided to never eat there again. The staff used to be just straight up warm and welcoming and the food always fresh and tasty. Now that is DEFINITELY NOT the case. The chicken satay has been consistently dry and the peanut sauce super watery. The curries have proven to be inconsistent at best, varying in spiciness and salt content. I could go on and on but you know what they say about beating a dead horse. Regent Thai is that horse. So sorry so sad.
Great Food!
Have been ordering from Regent Thai for years and their dishes have never disappointed. Very flavorful, extensive menu with quick and friendly service. The pricing is better than most places in the city (though the portion sizes are smaller, as well). Definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant.
My first time with Thai food. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Will definitely eat there again.
Top notch. Excellent service and delicious entrées. I loved everything although 3 in our cre did agree that the salmon was a little overly salty. Everything else was fantastic.
Tom kha Gai is the best in sf! This spot is really good.
Best Thai food in San Francisco period! Been going here for many years and I love it every single time.
Absolutely excellent food!
Really tasty
3 cousins had a lovely lunch here.Food was well prepared fresh and very tasty. Very clean and comfortable with good service.good portions at reasonable price for lunch.
I always get the pad kee mao here, and sometimes the pad thai too. Better than most other thai restaurants in SF.
Delicious neighborhood Thai food! New favorite for us.
Really good... will be back
Great Thai restaurant, generous portions, great variety, accommodating to exceptions, fast, great for take out too
I used to go here all the time pre-pandemic, but their prices are no longer worth it. Additionally this last time there was quite a bit of eggshell mixed in with the scrambled egg in my pad see ew. Guess I'm going to stick to cooking for myself from now on.
Everything that I ordered was delicious. The chicken satay were flavorful and had sides of peanut sauce and cucumber salad which was a nice blend of flavors. The red curry with tofu was working for me (caution: I don’t do spice and the mild was sliiiightly spicy for me. But definitely I still ate and enjoyed the dish).
Some mean women work here, maybe they treated that my way because I was just a driver. But whatever
Best green Thai curry EVER
Excellent thai food at reasonable prices. The carry out setup is good.
So good to enjoy this local restaurant that I used to enjoy almost weekly when I lived in the neighborhood. First time to try the Taro Spring rolls in a rice wrapper. AWESOME!
Great food and friendly service! We ordered the pad see ew and the penang pak curry and they were both delicious, especially the pad see ew. We also got the deep fried taro rolls and the mango sticky rice, both were also very good.
Possibly one of the worst take out experiences ever in SF. Vegetables were clearly frozen, tasteless, and soup was made days ago. The food was absolutely inedible.
We have been ordering takeout from Regent Thai for over a decade and this clearly is not the same Regent Thai ownership, or they just don't care. While we love to support our local restaurants during COVID, this is one establishment we will never revisit.
Best pad see ew I have ever eaten for that price. Really good quality for a low price. One of the best thai restaurants I have been.
Awesome Thai food!
High quality standard Thai dishes. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and good for a quick take-out.
Decent food at very reasonable prices.
Golden bags!!!
Delicious and great pricing... they have a wonderful lunch menu. I got there just before noon and the place was almost full by the time I finished up. Great place!
Great food and service. Penang curry was wonderful.
Great food and good prices
Love this modest Thai place with excellent food. This restaurant has been here since the late 70's. The food and service is excellent and very reasonably priced. Alot of the customers are regulars. Parking maybe difficult at times but worth the extra couple of minutes.
amazing thai food
Great food at affordable prices
I hoped there were more Vegetarian options, but the service and the quality was good.
So delicious & very affordable. The staff is so nice & welcomes us with a smile each time we come in...and we come in a lot! A new favorite in the area
Their food has great flavor and the staff is very friendly.
Great thai place! We got tom kai soup and vegetarian silver noodles. The noodles were really spiced perfectly (medium). Beer is cheap too, would definitely return.
Delicious food, reasonably priced. Some of the most authentic Thai food I've had in years. A gem of a restaurant.
Nice place to have lunch, good foods, good price.
Great pumpkin curry at really affordable prices. Sweet neighborhood thai spot
Good food and pretty good service
Great great food, priced reasonably and the curry delicious on rainy days
Great food!
This has always been the Thai place I go to and know
The obligatory Thai place in Noe
Around 1pm only 1/4 occupancy.
After I sat down and placed my order I walked to the counter at the back to add a soup.
This waitress gave the rudest impatient face told me to "Just sit down!!"
I asked why did she talk to me this way
I was trying to help them by going to her myself.
Her reason was "First come first serve"
I politely asked her to talk politely, she maintained an attitude like she hates her job.
I expresses I'd cancel the order and walk out, she showed me the door with her busy palm.
My approach to her maintain approachable and respectful throughout the experience.
She might have had a bad day but it's
inexcusable to throw tantrum to customers.
That easy to get triggered and upset?
Doesn't strike me as a very green waitress either.
Clearly she lacks efficacy & etiquette even in a non-stress work load. Doesn't matter how long she's been there. Her glimpse of sudden abnormal emtional that cause her to behave this way to customers, shows a borderline potential threat to my lunch experience. I opted out.
Or the owner pls hire more staff to help her out. Smarter to hire consistently graceful people.
I went to Thailand many times it's known for it's hospitality. This experience put its reputation to shame.
Delicious and reasonably priced Thai food in a cozy neighborhood location for probably close to 20 years! Never dissatisfied from anything I order here. Very kind and speedy service to boot!
Have loved this spot for years!!!
My favorite Thai restaurant. You need to try the Golden Salmon and the fresh spring rolls.
Pros: Great food, nice vibe, great portion
Cons: lighting is not optimal for selfies
I come to San Francisco often to visit and every time I come, I visit Regent Thai! The food is always hot, flavorful and brought to the table fast! The staff always greets you with a smile and is helpful when you’re looking for something to eat. I highly recommend Regent Thai!
Six years ago, I used to come here once or twice a week for lunch. I was in the neighborhood today, and feeling nostalgic, so I came for lunch.
I had the roasted duck curry. It was so good. The slickness is just right. It was spicy without burning, and the flavor is spot on. I’m always worried that the duck would be old, and it wasn’t the case. The duck was fresh and plentiful. I ate every single bit of curry and steam rice.
I also had Thai iced tea with light ice. Perfect amount of sweetness.
For dessert, I had sticky rice with Thai custard. It was good but I’ve had sticky rice in other restaurants that tasted better.
The service is excellent.
All in all, I’m glad I came here, and highly recommend this restaurant.
Tasty food + good price !
Great food! Good vibes. Homely hole in the wall low key spot for good quality grubbery.
Now a days it’s hard to find good food and low price around San Francisco. Regent Thai has the best fried rice I’ve ever tried, for a very decent price. The staffs are super friendly, too*****
Ordered the sautéed shrimp and squid - the overall flavor was fantastic and the squid was tender BUT the portion size was about half of what I expected. I was also surprised that for $10 it didn’t come with a side of rice, so I added that too. After finishing both, I was about 70% full (I’m a small girl). Overall, would recommend but make sure you order enough food.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I luv their food!
I Love this place
tasty food, fast service, nice vibes
