Random, cute little Thai Place in the corner of this shopping center! Definitely “mom and pop” vibes forsure. My 4 stars are really for my experience, since I only ordered a Beef Salad to go. I’m all about customer service and the gentleman there who greeted me and took my order was the sweetest. The salad was a bit pricey being $18 with tax! BUT.. I do have to admit, the salad itself was very filling! It was packed with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce and MEAT! Check out the difference of what it looks like in its to go container vs on my plate.. The sauce had a decent chili lime flavor, but was a bit on the watery side. Overall, I would come back to try other dishes. :)

The food was AMAZING and authentic. There was a slight misunderstanding of the spice level that my partner chose (selected medium and he received Thai hot aka their spiciest level) but other than that the food was very enjoyable and the Thai tea tasted amazing. Nice and smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Shout out to the young waitress who was the only one working the floor and handling rush hour during dinnertime. She was kind and attentive regardless of the amount of work she had to do. Would love to visit again!

I ordered 5 items it was very delicious 😋

Tom kha broth was a bit thin, lacked flavor despite having actual galangal, Kaffir lime leaves, and occasionally a sliver of lemongrass. The mushrooms were standard white mushrooms which do not belong in tom kha or Tom yum. Almost no lime juice in the broth and too little fish sauce.

Panang curry was likewise a bit thin, the $7 for prawns only included 7-8 small prawns, and the veggies we're lacking. Mostly sauce.

The Pra Ram Rong Song was just the meat/filling of choice with oversweet peanut sauce. The broccoli was plain on the side though it was steamed nicely and still had some crunch. There was no sign of spinach. It was just served on a bed of lettuce.

The best thing we ordered was the Thai Larb Salad. The chicken was slightly too salty for my taste and I love salt, but when you got a bit without to many green onions and a mint leaf it was very good. I would have liked it a bit better with fewer green onions and more mint, but that's just my personal preference and I've never had this dish before.

The food is fine my issue is they don't know how to manage their time correctly and all their food comes out taking extra 15 to 20 minutes longer than they promised you. Whoever's working in their kitchen doesn't know how to cook in a restaurant

Extremely slow terrible horrible service. Took 1 hour to be served and they were almost empty only one other table and two to-go orders while we were there. The they charged me for an 18% tip after that terrible horrible service.

I tried this little cute and clean restaurant yesterday. The staff was so friendly I mean customers service was excellent. Food was very delicious specially the grilled fish and a grilled chicken rice with green salad and varieties of sauces, must-try for anyone looking for delicious Thai Halal restaurant in a warm and welcoming setting. Beware! This is no longer Thai restaurant with new name, Phaya Thai Halal Restaurant. Menu still has Thai food dishes but taste mediocre to poor. Ownership now Afghan and not the former mom and pop Thai proprietors who cooked delicious, REAL Thai food. Always smiling Thai staff greet now gone and more likely to receive frown or weird stare. All the lovely Thai Buddhist art removed, ripped off the wall and reminds of what Taliban did in Afghanistan when destroyed world famous ancient Buddha statues at Bamiyan 2001, declaring them false gods. Sad atmosphere in this once excellent Thai restaurant. Horrible place to dine or takeout - avoid at all cost!

After reading some of the wildly racist and Islamophobic reviews, my family and I decided to come out here with a group of 18. The ownership has changed, yes, and the menu is now completely hand cut zabiha halal, making it very inclusive for all. Despite the ownership change, ALL of the cooks are still the same. The quality of food was amazing and authentic. The ambiance was wonderful. The service was fantastic. Our entire family loved the food, and we did not have to worry about cross contamination or non-halal ingredients. We had a wonderful experience and I am definitely planning to go again.

Best Thai food! Small operation so go with some time to spare especially if it's a busy lunch or dinner hour.

Had the unfortunate mistake of ordering from this place a second time, this time instead of a two and a half hour wait it was 3 hours. Kid ordered via doordash pick up or I wouldn't have agreed for the hour and a half wait for a pickup time. They called and said it would be an hour later than the initial time and then it was 20 minutes later than that for a total of 3 hours after ordering something that should have taken 25 mins.

Absolutely slow. This use to be our go to Thai food. However, their service has been awful and has gotten even worse. They are constantly changing the time for pick up. When order is suppose to be ready, they call and say it will be an extra 90 minutes. Then over an hour past that 90 mins we still wait for our food. It is the same when you eat in restaurant. Beware - not worth the wait.

Great small restaurant with authentic Thai cuisine. The fried rice is top tier! Definitely recommend that. My usual? Pad Thai, Chicken Satay and of course the fried rice! A+ 🔥 9.2/10

The 2 appetizers we ordered were good, however they took almost an hour to get. Almost an hour and a half after we ordered, we still had no entrees (2 people) and decided to leave.
They tried to charge for a drink I was never brought.
When I asked if they were short staffed, he said "No, you came to late". They open for dinner at 5, we were there by 5:30!!!
I now remember why we haven't been there in years, we won't forget again.
Don't expect customers to return when that's the service provided.

This was my first time having Thai food. It was VERY good. We had the Thai dumplings and Meakong beef. I will DEFINITELY come back again . It was VERY good. The flavor profiles are close to Chinese food but much lighter and more fragrant. We ate at the restaurant, It was a very nice and pleasant dinner/ experience.

Great place for some tasty takeout! My wife and I usually order the Thai dumplings, pad Thai, eggplant stir fry, and mango and sticky rice. We have never disappointed with the food here. It can take up to an hour for a takeout order, so plan accordingly.

Love Thai food

Everything is excellent. Fresh ingredients. Jasmine tea, Thai iced tea. Red, green and yellow Curry, Fried rice, Wonton soup, Dumplings, potstickers and Egg rolls. My advice is order early. They are always very busy because their food is so bomb. Be patient they work as fast as they can. Great service and nice people. I've eaten here multiple times and have never had bad food or service.

The old guy is rude and brought our food vary late and it was not clean.

Really good Pad Thai and appetizers

Ordered waited more than an hour for soup, eggplant and vegetables that tasted like rancid oil. I ended up throwing it all away wait a waste of time and $$$$$. I have eaten here before and it was good too bad it's gone so south.

Small place but great portions, great food, friendly staff, but be careful on phone orders, so busy phone orders may be longer than you can wait.

Walked in right when they opened and was sat right away. The man working was nice. The food is good not the most authentic according to my boyfriend, I wouldn't know because this was my first thai resturant, but still very good flavor according to him. Mild on the drunken noodles isn't spicy at all so if you want spice go for medium. I was too scared to go medium because at other places it is beyond spicy but I should have gotten it here still they tasted very good. We also go the thai eggplant with shrimp and it was good as well.

Best Thai I’ve ever had. The gentleman that was manning the counter was extremely polite and tentative despite how busy they were. The red curry was excellent, potstickers were excellent, tea was excellent. I cannot recommend this place enough.

There are plenty of vegan options on the menu. This time, I ordered pad thai with tofu and no eggs. I didn't even mention that I was vegan, yet they asked if i was okay with the fish sauce! I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of their dishes.

Always fresh and tasty! We’ve enjoyed Phaya Thai for several years now. Tonight’s take out was excellent as usual. Thai Basil Leaves with pork, yellow curry chicken, mixed veggie stir fry, and egg rolls...all well made and flavorful. We’ll be back!

Nice staff, cute dining area with beautiful decor. The food is pretty good, quality is what you'd expect from a tiny neighborhood Thai restaurant. Flavors are in line with other American Thai restaurants, not so much an authentic Thai cuisine experience per say; more of a homogenized toned down flavor that is geared for the blander palate of most Americans who are probably unfamiliar or intimidated by the robust flavors of traditional Thai food. If you're wanting to stay in the neighborhood and crave Thai food then they are definitely worth checking out. The restaurant is small/intimate and is located in a tiny little mall just past the main intersection.

Don’t bother going to this place you’ll be waiting an 1 1/2 to eat. They take GrubHub orders and make you wait in restaurant for ever.

I’ve been coming here off and on to this Thai restaurant and it’s mediocre at best. The Pad Thai is bland sadly every time I’ve ordered it for takeout and I’ve only dined in here once years ago with my white adopted mother and we never came back and dined in here again became the food wasn’t memorable. Here and there I’d call and order takeout and never had any issues of my food taking long like others have stated in their review. This place has been around for a long time and I’ve ordered their Tom Yum noodle soup which is decent but again the food isn’t amazing or anything special. When you order the soups to go, the portion size is way to small for the price you pay. The service though has always been kind and courteous and the last few times I’ve been there, the nice older asian man is always working there and he always smiles and is very attentive and kind. I’d give the service an A+ but every-time I’ve gotten takeout there, it’s never busy and this place is completely empty. It makes me wonder how these guys are able to stay in business, but miraculously they get enough customers! Overall the service is friendly but the food is not greets and mediocre at best. Don’t order the Pad Thai, it’s horrible and one of the worse Pad Thai’s I’ve eaten and It’s really not good here. I’d say avoid this restaurant and keep looking. It’s not worth it here. Avoid!!!

Their food is incredible. Unfortunately, their service makes it nearly impossible to get the food when you want it! Ordering on line is a joke. They call you and tell you it will take an additional hour. So much for take-out. In the restaurant itself we’ve waited over 20 minutes just to place our order. Obviously they’re good since they’re so busy...? But we can no longer rely on eating there or getting take out. I’ve given up. Too bad.

I would give this place a zero if it was possible.
Placed an order and they said 30 min to pick up. Paid for food via credit card over the phone. When we arrived after the prescribed 30 min they said they would not be able to fulfill the order for an additional hour. We cancelled order and requested a refund and they indicated they didn't know how to process the refund. Unbelievable!

Great place, the dining area is quite cozy and they're more than willing to accommodate larger groups (yes including entitled Karens). The food is amazing, had spicy fried rice and it was perfectly cooked with just enough spices to give it an amazing flavor, the veggies were extremely fresh and Thai iced tea was pretty good too. The wait was a bit long but considering that this is a small place with a crazy amount of ubereats/grubhub orders when I was there, I cannot blame them for taking a while to make sure the food served was of highest quality possible.

The food is good. I enjoy the noodle dishes (Pad See Ew and Pad Woon Sen). The Pad Prik King is a must. The yellow curry is good, but it needs more carrots and potatoes.

Great Thai place. Very solid. I'm a big fan of Thai food and this place definitely delivers. I enjoyed their Pad Prig King which was outstanding. Friendly service. Don't be in a rush and make sure you have the time.

Traveled all the way from Texas to eat Phaya Thia! It was delicious! We enjoyed the Tom Kha Soup with chicken, Drunken noodles with chicken, Pad See Ew with chicken and the Spicy fried rice with beef and Oolong Tea!

Phaya Thai serves the best Thai food in Sacramento. We have eaten at most of the Thai eateries in the area and nothing even comes close to the consistency, freshness and flavor of Phaya Thai. It can take a while for take-out so order early! It is so worth the wait. Prices are reasonable too!

Good! Went to lunch with Mom here and the place was packed! Everything had pretty good flavor and was presented beautifully. My only complaint was there was no salt or pepper on the table and you have to ask for anything extra, like thai chili sauce, chopsticks (which I feel like should be on the table at a thai resaurant) cilanto, limes etc. They charged us for the cilantro. Otherwise I would go back. Menus could use some relaminating REALLY bad. They were kinda gross

We sat there for 15 min without any attention from the server whatsoever. There were at least 6 other tables. Nobody had any food and most didn't even have water. So we left. I don't usually leave a bad review. But this is the 3rd time we have had bad service there and the 2nd time we have had to leave without being served. Hope they can get it together because the food there is pretty good if you can get them to wait on you.

Super yummy pad Thai and great price!

First time here and I enjoyed the meal very much. We had fresh spring rolls and thai fried rolls to start. For dinner we had a curry dish w/ beef, drunken noodles chicken, and pad thai w/tofu. For dessert we had fried banana w/ ice cream and mango sticky rice. Everything had tons of flavor and was very enjoyable. Portions were a very healthy size and prices were comparable to what I'm used to (I am from Washington). I debated dropping a star due to wait time, but chose against it due to overall atmosphere/quality/portion. As others have stated, wait times are long. I would caution against bringing young children or anybody that gets too restless. Overall we spent 2 hours, restaurant was half full when we got here. Overall atmosphere was nice. Would be a great date night if you want to spend some time with the person. If I lived in the area I would come back.
