Urban haunt in a solar-powered building with Thai specialties, creative cocktails & outdoor seating.
New to Sacramento and I've been to this place twice in two days!
The Thai Tea (adult 🥴) is amazing! Easily one of my top 10 favorite drinks of all-time.
The place has a dope vibe!
The staff is really cool.
I will definitely keep coming back and would tell my friends to check it out as well.
I would say for my first time going because of my food preferences or taste bud the plate of food I choice was not what I'm usually into or what I like. So I don't want to go to low with the stars because I want to try other dishes. If you like sweet for food I do reccomend the "Pad Se Ew" (I don't like so much sweet for my food). Overall I would say food was decent bur I'd like to try other dishes next time.
Hands down one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to! The ambiance is charming, with a perfect mix of elegance and comfort. The staff was beyond friendly, ensuring that every detail of our meal was perfect. The food was simply outstanding—the drunken noodles were bursting with bold flavors, and the mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet finish. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with authentic Thai flavors. The service was quick and attentive without feeling rushed. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere, look no further!
My 1st visit here I brought my closest friend out to celebrate her birthday for dinner. I was so excited to try vegan Thai food. I noticed the place on Google a month earlier. The place is very nice and pleasant and situated downtown in a nice area. Our only issue was parking but it was still doable just a bit inconvenient. I'll elaborate later. So we arrived early enough to scope ou the area and parking. My friend parked on the other side of the park. I parked across the street ahead of the restaurant. We were seated immediately, there was no wait. The restaurant wasn't crowded but, also wasn't empty. We had good timing for arrival. The people began to come and the restaurant filled up more after we had been there for a short time. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The thing that threw me off was her knowledge about happy hour time and what drinks were available. When I 1st asked she made me believe it had ended at 6 and then when I about drinks she only offered 1 type. So I asked if she was sure because I saw sparkling wine 🍷 as an option on their website on Google. She went to ask someone else and not only did they tell her a variety of drink options & shots they told her that happy hour was until 7pm. I believe we had arrived close to 5:30pm. We took a while to decide and then we placed orders that included appetizers of tempura vegetables & vegan spring rolls. I ordered Thai vegetable fried rice and my friend ordered the vegetable pad Thai noodles. Our food was yummy and drinks were perfect. I had 2 Tequila shots and I think she had some type of ginger beer or something like that. They let her taste and choose what she preferred and I thought that was nice too because her drink was served in a tall glass. We had fun! We laughed, talked, and reminisced. She opened & loved her birthday gifts... I left a nice tip and we headed out. We wanted to walk around after dinner because the rain 🌧 had subsided but, parking proved to be too much of a challenge so we walked for 5 minutes and then we prepared to leave and then we left the busy downtown area and headed home. We definitely enjoyed the restaurant intend to come back and try more food and drinks but, we'll most likely ride together next time in 1 car to remedy the parking drama.
The sauces and textures are very good, especially in the stir fry but there is little to no heat flavor. This was most noticeable in the noodles where I expected it most. However, I do think it still works.
The green curry didn't have very strong lime or lemongrass flavors and was majority sweet savory-ness from the coconut milk. But we still liked it.
We ordered medium spiciness and any heat was not noticeable. When we ordered the curry with tofu they assumed we were vegetarian and asked if fish sauce was still ok, so they do seem accommodating.
Ordered take out once and it was good, but the service my first time in the restaurant was pretty terrible (sat at the bar for fifteen minutes, multiple overtures to get attention, no one ever came over). Went to Thai Canteen next door instead - loved it!

Customer Services Is Bad
food is great, dine in service is pretty good too. but whenever i pick up takeout alone, I always get helped by really standoffish staff. as a woman myself, (some of!) the women staff at the restaurant have been kinda rude with me and very short. im not expecting u to kiss my ass but at the very least if someone is treating you w respect, it’s only fair to give it back. On two separate occasions I’ve had female staff all turn to stare at me while they’re having their own convo to the point it makes me feel like im interrupting THEIR time even tho they’re at work. I’ll even say “thank you”and “have a good day” and all I get is a half of a smile and a nod back. I’ve worked in hospitality for 7 years now and know that customers can be a handful sometimes but if a customer is being nice and respectful to you, what is the point of being rude to them??

Deliciosa comida, especial mente el Thai Rice
Some friendly staff, some not. Smelled the bathrooms being cleaned the entire time... And finally got my food to go. I had been to Thai Orchid once before and not loved it. I didn't realize Ramen 101 is the same restaurant..
Crab fried rice was excellent.
Sticky rice and mango was a big let down.
The sticky rice and cream was great. The mango was chewy and cubed, and I couldn't figure out if it was the mango or the gratuitous amount of sesame seeds that gave it a very off putting taste. Get fresh mangos or just say you don't have any available.
Solid spot for the fried rice dishes I had though. 10/10

Used to love this place, good is food although prices have always been on the higher side compared to similarly rated Thai restaurants in the area. My issue has always been with the stinginess. We’ve done both dine in and to go, which ended with us not doing take out anymore because they do not include rice with the to-go entrees but the price remains the same. As of 12/8/24, now dine-in entrees no longer come with rice and there’s an upcharge of $3 per person for rice, essentially making every meal $20+. There was no signage or information given by the servers of this change so we felt very misled, poor business practice by the owners. Because of these deceptive practices, we won’t be returning. There are plenty of other Thai options in midtown that don’t try to get over on their customers.
Wonder spot in Midtown! The food and service were amazing, the Chicken Ramen was incredible.
I'm happy I found this place, definitely coming again. I felt the flavors had more depth and were better balanced than most other places I've been to in the Sac/Davis area.
The food is very delicious and good service I recommend it
Spent $40 for two entrees, which were delivered, and entrees come with no rice??? Every other Thai place I’ve ordered from is less expensive AND doesn’t up charge for rice.
How you gonna do your job when all the employees are sitting at the same table eating when you come in to dine??
We had a large group with children show up last minute and this place was perfect.
It was around 20-25 hungry people. Service was great and the food was served quickly.
This is not an authentic Thai restaurant by any means, but the food was all delicious. Here's what we ordered:
panko crusted string beans - These were great! Get these!
massaman curry with beef - Almost like a toned down version of an authentic massaman. I added some dried chili flakes on top and thought this was really good and satisfying.
pad see ew with pork - The noodles had pretty much a perfect texture. I added some chili oil and this was delicious!
There was also an extra menu with Hawaiian and Japanese food and everybody who ordered from it was very happy. The mixed Hawaiian bbq plate was a nice large serving and looked great! All of the portions here were pretty large actually.
Everybody seemed to enjoy their food. There were a lot of kids there and they liked the food too.
The ambiance was great too. I'd definitely come back here again. Very impressed.
Been here a few times with my wife. Love the crab wontons rangoons. Also the crab rice is great. The whole vibe and atmosphere is amazing. My small complaint is a glass of ginger ale is extremely overpriced.$6. I only got it due to me having a little tummy pain before arriving. But overall they give a nice sized portion on the food. We can never eat it all and bring it hm for leftovers.
Great food and nice atmosphere to hang out with friends. Their quality is pretty consistent!!
YUM
For me, this is my go-to thai food in Sacramento; flavorful and they offer vegan options for almost everything (so thoughtful)! V-Spring Rolls, yellow curry, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice and thai iced tea; all delicious! 🫶
I order the dinner and didn't receive rice I felt like it should have came with rice and they should have let us know, the service was terrible, the food was bland, it took forever, never ordering from here again. If you want good Thai food. You should probably head over to Thai Street bistro good flavor, good service, good speed.
Great food with excellent service. The only issue can be finding parking, but it is worth it even if you have to walk in from across the park.
A slightly more premium experience than Thai Canteen up the road. The mango fried chicken and crab fried rice are favorites.
Great spot with a cozy yet modern vibe! Open late with happy hour resuming at 10 so it's perfect for night owls like me. Cocktails are delish but they also have a solid tap list
The best fresh spring rolls I have EVER had.
Try their panang curry! Tasty vegetarian menu!

Ive been in sacramento for over 20 years. This restaurant opened about 6 years ago. They maintained high quality food, service and atmosphere since then. They have the best druken noodles In Sacramento hands down. I'm always happy to come here and I hope everyone else who comes by will be too.
Dajia has the most amazing customer service, despite being close to closing time she still had great customer service and because of that, I’ll be back
Green curry was not good.
Good pad see ew!
DEPLORABLE SERVICE. NOT Thai food.
The food is absolutely amazing! Every single time!
The ambiance is horrible. They don’t greet you, check on your tables, assumed I was door dash & looked at my phone. Awkwardly watch me pay. I just order to go now.
Dear Michael, I hope you learn to have manors with customers. There was an error in our check for a double portion and I talked to the server about it. The server said that if I don’t pay the whole amount he’ll call the cops on me? Atmosphere was awkward, I felt like they were kicking us out from the beginning and we didn’t plan to stay long cause we’re traveling, the guy started screaming in the kitchen in spanish and being disrespectful towards me. You can’t also expect customers to know the menu cause some of them never been there before.
The yellow curry is my favorite.

Super tasty! Everyone loved our food (we got the red curry, green curry, basil fried rice, and pad thai). Two precautions though: the portion sizes are MASSIVE, and it's not super spicy. We were not expecting mountains of food lol, I think two entrees for the four of us would have been plenty. I also got the mild curry since I've never been here before and didn't know their spice levels. There was barely any semblance of spice in the mild (which is good for people who really can't handle spice), so I'll definitely pick the medium or spicy next time. Each entree was about $20, which isn't bad at all for the huge portions. I'll definitely come back here to try the other types of curry the next time I'm in town!
One star was taken off the service aspect because while the waiters/waitresses and other staff are very kind and hospitable, the restaurant is a bit understaffed.
Tom yum soup was great. Good beer selection. I didn't like the peanut sauce (too sweet) and bland steamed vegetables in my "stir fry."
Came for a family dinner. Food wasn’t up to par. Food tasted microwaved and not fresh. Servers are too hasty and push for tip when they don’t really deserve it.
Atmosphere of the place is great but clearly never judge a book by its cover.
Very disappointed. Pad Thai was good.
Just a great place for Thai food!
Ordered delivery- was hot when arrived. Green curry had good flavor, if ordering though note it does not come with rice and must be ordered extra as side. For the price I was surprised rice was not included but flavor wise i would recommend the curry. Also had chicken pad thai- I would not recommend as it did not have a lot of flavor.
I love this place. Great people working here the customer service is always great here and we love the food. I especially come here for the Thai tea! It's brewed for three days rather than one like other places
First visit here, and this requires that I order the dish by which I judge all Thai food restaurants: Pad Se Ew, with chicken and medium spice level. While the heat was a little below what I would call "medium" I do take into account that I am a heatonist and have a higher tolerance that most. This said, what my meal lacked in heat it more than made up for in flavor. The noodles were tender, the broccoli firm but not raw, and the flavor of the sauce was very good. Adding in my drink (with refills) and the polite service that I received makes me a happy camper. Yep, I'll be back for more. They do have a Hawaiian BBQ menu that looks good, and maybe I'll try that next time.
This restaurant used to be a 5☆ go to place for me but this location has made changes to its recipes and menu. These changes are things that I am allergic to. They did remake our food but it was something that could have gone very badly. Then at the end we got up and accidentally left our leftovers on the table when we went to the restroom. When we came back they had thrown it away! It was enough food for another 2 meals! Anyways, if you have food allergies please check your usual dishes because they may have changed. Time to find a new favorite place.
Sorry, I was misled by the 800+ reviews. The noodles were excessively soggy, saucy, and salty, the ramen was mediocre ramen. The oily tempura, overly creamy seafood medley, and excessively salty yellow curry were disappointing. I had to return the curry. Even the sticky rice w/ mango tasted bad. I do not recommend this place.
Food is solid, but the management here needs a reality check. Sorely understaffed on a Saturday night. Three servers for the entire restaurant who all seem solely responsible for taking orders, running food and bussing tables.
With all the great Thai options in Sacramento, this place is truly a remarkable story of survival.
No idea how the food was because after I placed an order with my server I sat by myself for 30min in an empty restaurant before someone else noticed I didn’t have my food after I started looking around. Let alone the server I had completely ignoring me. Then they started on my order.
Left and went to Thai Canteen, placed my order, got my food in 5min.
Yummmm
First visit, food is really good. Service is friendly. Worth a visit
Very good service , nice atmosphere…… I’m laid back with my feet out I front of me listening to the soft music with a full belly. Texas Boy. Looking at the big Buddha picture with waterfall attached.
$18 for a bowl of Curry.. and yellow curry doesn't have bell pepper.
The lettuce wraps and yellow curry shrimp with brown rice were fresh and delicious! 😋
12/23
Update: Was really craving Thai and decided to try this again. I’ve ordered from here twice the past month and both times have been really good. Kudos to whoever is running the kitchen now.
6/23
Use to be a good go to when I was craving some Thai. I would get the drunken noodles or pad see ew. Lately the dishes haven’t had much flavor (or spice when I order spicy) and the appetizers aren’t worth the price quality or quantity wise. Not sure what’s changed over the past few months for the quality of food to go down this much.
Ordered yellow curry and egg rolls!! Absolutely delicious 🤤
Went for paint&sip, every Saturday 😍loved it
Went for a paint and sip event which is usually there on Saturday..its amazing😍
Useless people, we used to go there quite a few times but my daughter who is 5 years old do not eat Thai food and once we took personal pizza with us for her to eat while we eat Thai food there and they refused for my daughter to eat there. Very rude crew of workers……..
The pad thai is the best i’ve had anywhere so far. Amazing curries and pad see ew! Fun fact, you can order from the orchid and the Ramen restaurant next door as well. Great variety of food! Thai tea was authentic in flavor and food was fresh. Eat here often.
Good portions and decent prices. Environment is pleasant and is quiet.
Crab meat fried rice was good! But Very unfriendly restaurant waiters/cashiers! Sorry not sorry! I wasn’t warmly welcomed that’s for sure. I’m used of it though especially in this area of town. That’s ok god bless them anyway. I HOPE YOU ALL HEAR THIS! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ANYWAY! Happy days cheers to all negative vibes! 🥳 🥳 Thanks for the horrible service. You know I feel so much better now!😃
Great food!
The place isn't much to look at from the outside and is very humble on the inside, but man, their food is completely amazing!
Mild to medium is pretty hot and if you don't do spices well, you might ask them to leave it out completelygood!!
So goood!!
Best Thai and friendliest staff!
I had the Asparagus stir fry with squid . It was a lot of food. But the food was delicious.
Three stars for the friendly service. I ordered a take out and the portions are a joke considering it costs 20 dollars a entree with tax. I dined in a few times and the portions were great. Felt ripped off. Key takeaway. Never order to go from this place.
This was the easily the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Kingston, Jamaica. I ordered fried rice for in-restaurant dining and ordered curry and pad Thai to take home. I enjoyed the curry and fried rice the most. My server(s) provided a nice selection of condiments to increase the spice level of the dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant and would gladly visit again.
An alright spot. Service is the standout here. The Pad Thai was decent, one of the better ones in town. Overall I would go back honestly. Thai tea was pretty good too.
Went back. The summer rolls are okay, the sauces are just out of the bottle and Larb Chicken has wayyy too much seasoning though, practically inedible honestly. If you’re coming strictly for pad Thai I would say it’ll do for lunch, otherwise I would be a bit hard pressed to recommend it.
SCAMMERS!!! Ordered food from the website online after checking on whether the restaurant is open on Google Maps. Got a call back from restaurant that they closed a little early and we will get our money back in a few days. When we followed up with manager again after 7 days, he refused that no order was placed even after providing them the order number and the receipt.
Didn't really enjoy the food and service wasn't the best overall it was unsatisfied.. felt like discriminated.
The food is amazing! Great service and wonderful smiles!
Worst basil fried rice I have ever had in my life. Very oily, beans uncooked, no salt and no flavor. Totally not worth $18, money down the drain👎👎👎
Worst basil fried rice I have ever had in my life. Very oily, beans uncooked, no salt and no flavor. Totally not worth $18, money down the drain👎
I love that I can come and get some of the best curry I’ve ever had. I have a shellfish allergy and they are able to work around it and serve some amazing food. Thank you guys. Really great place to try!
Had the crab fried rice and was the best fried rice I ever had. Underrated spot
Not my favorite. Maybe it's just what I ordered but I probably won't go back.
Our food was tasty with hefty servings, service was slow but they were very good at communicating and they had an event going on. Overall it was good and I’d come back. I hadn’t been to Or gif Thai in years!
Was good
Would look elsewhere. Other Thai near southern edge of grid for example. I’m vegetarian so that’s the focus of this review. Beware of ordering anything with mixed vegetables because the mix is mostly bell pepper and onion, 2 of my least favorite veggies. Of course this is personal preference. The Tom Yum soup is too acidic. Wings are overly salty. Enough said
The food here was super tasty!
Delicious food and cocktails in a fun atmosphere. Servers were attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely go again.
This is me and my wife's favorite spot. They never disappoint! Good food every time
My favorite Thai place in town great food and a really really wonderful mixologist at the bar
My to go Thai spot. Best Thai food hands down
I usually go there for lunch since it's near my job. I haven't been there in a while, so I decided to grab it for dinner. I grabbed the drunken noodle dish. It wasn't as good or as favorfull as it was usually. It was very bland to me, and I ended up throwing the rest away. The last few times when I went, the food was better. it might have been the cook that night.
Food was good but just a little salty. I had the Red Curry with Sticky Rice. If you're a person who likes heat, I had the Thai Spicy. Not really spicy but at least it's something. Overall, decent spot for a quick bite.
The food was great! Ordered carryout and the quality is great for the price. Quantity may be subjective but one entree could easily feed 3 people. Would definitely return. The restaurant is pretty nice with a great bar. Overall the restaurants central location is convenient as well.
Fantastic spot! The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and plentiful. We ordered the combo appetizer plate with calamari, crab wonton and fried spring rolls. For dinner we had the yellow curry, red curry spicy, and pad thai. Everything was excellent! The bar has great options and well made drinks too.
Friendly and urgent staff ✅
Low key yet elegant vibe ✅
Absolutely delicious food✅✅✅
I came here with my family. I swore by hating Thai food because of a bad experience elsewhere. My husband loves it so we came for him. From the moment I stepped in I loved the look and feel and how attentive the staff were to the guest (which is so rare nowadays). Once we go our food I told my husband “I wish we ordered this to go” because I literally wanted to scream at how amazing the food tasted. Hands down the best food that I have had in Sacramento so far. I have a rule that when I like I place I come back and try the same dish at least one more time for consistency. I am embarrassed to say that I have had it three times. I’m so excited to have an excuse to come back and try other options on the menu. I’ll definitely continue to spread the word.
Great service and food. Very tasty. Great location and service.
My only complaint is they don't have physical menus. But otherwise it was absolutely lovely.
Below average tasting pad Thai and higher than average prices. The noodles seemed to be a mix of fresh and old and the tofu mixed in was over seasoned. Service was good but I’d look at other options for chicken Pad Thai if that’s what you’re after.
I fell in love with the food, the place is very nice and the service excellent, family like it... 👍 👌 ❤️
My favorite Thai restaurant in Sacramento! The Veggie Spring rolls and Drunken Noodles are the best!!!
I've been here a few times prior, food and service were fine. This time we came on a Friday. They were busy. Our waitress was running around like crazy. Apps were ok, but a little greasy, got the combo, it was just OK. We split a meal it was good, although we ordered medium spice, there was no spice. The issue came with the bill. It was $40 something. I didn't even look at the bill. Paid. Tipped standard 20% (about $8) based on the bill. Then the waitress comes and asks for another $9.67. I didn't understand why and all she could say is my CC didn't pay it all...how? I check the charge in my CC app..$50. 2 $17 plates, rice, soda, tip. How can I owe more?? I tell her she's wrong. She goes to Manager. Comes back. Insists my card did not pay the full bill. What? How? So I ask to see the bill. Ends up I was overcharged by $8.95 for an app I didn't order. So I don't owe you, you owe me. It took more than 10 minutes to resolve this. Just sitting there waiting for them to figure out what to do??? They refunded me the appetizer cost I didn't order. But that was it. No apology for over charging me and then trying to charge me more. No explanation of why or what prompted the additional charge to my table. Then I think about this later. The tip and tax were based on the bill. So I still overpaid. It's not really the money, but the principal. I was pretty disappointed in the way everything was handled. They should have refunded the transaction and billed me properly. I feel like they were trying to get over on me. Oh. And the bar won't make off menu drinks despite a full bar and they were out of the cider we wanted. Overall funky experience. Management seems weird...
Their Red Curry is my favorite!
delicious!
My favorite Thia spot! This was my first time dining in there but they have been my favorite door dash for years. Dine In is even better. Fresh, Fast, Friendly and Delicious. We had Spting Rolls , Drunken Noodles and Cashew Chicken. Highly recommend.
Great flavorful food, polite staff, and a nice calm environment inside the restaurant. 5 stars, would definitely recommend!
The food was okay. Personally I feel it was missing flavor in some plates and in others it was overpowering flavor of fish. I did not order shrimp for my plates so it was weird. They were nice to replace it with something else but even then it was not what I was expecting. Maybe it was an off day. I don't know.
Good food
We ordered lunch here today as an employee raved about their Lincoln location. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken. The portion was smaller than most Thai restaurants I’m used to and for $16 I got 3 pieces of chicken with my noodles. So I would say this was average.
Good spot to taste a bite of American Thailand 🇹🇭 Fusion. Hard to park by restaurant as it is downtown public parking an is metered paying.....
I left my cell phone there on accident and the next morning I was able to retrieve it no problem 😊.
Came here during after-work hours. It's what you would hope it would be.
Very tasty Thai food in nice ambience
I had no issue with the food. It tasted amazing. The staff was nice as well. My issue was that it took 45 minutes to get an order of curry when the restaurant was dead. It was 90 min before closing so the kitchen wasn’t wrapping up. I don’t know what took so long.
I recommended
Really loved the peanut Thai. Tofu wasn't greasy but light, crispy and refreshing. Will be back!
I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but people should know, this is literally the worst Thai I’ve have ever had. Sad but true.
This location offers amazing Thai food. Staff and service was fantastic.
Orchid Thai has wonderful clean and modern ambiance, which is great for a stop in Midtown. It is arguably one of the better Thai places on the grid in my opinion, albeit a little more expensive because of that fact. However, I liked how authentic the food is. We tried "Thai spicy" level of spice for the noodles and it was actually thai-spicy. An actual Thai place on the grid that gives you that mouth numbing experience!!! The curry is more coconutty than other Thai curries I've had elsewhere. You will enjoy it if you like curries with a strong coconut milk taste. The portion sizes are huge!!! Lots of leftovers, and this is coming from someone with a huge appetite. Payment & tipping is with a person coming directly to the table with a card scanner.
First time ordering here really wanted some pad thai and this was the only place open late. I ordered calamari and medium spicy pad thai noodles I'm glad I went with my first mind and only ordered one pad tai noodle because it was nasty. It had no flavor at all no type of spice. I couldn't call in because they were already closed and I drove all the way back to the south from downtown. I wasted $40 on food I couldn't eat. The calamari was decent but could have had more flavor. Hopefully I can get a refund tomorrow when they open
First time. Delicious and friendly staff
My Favorite Restaurant In Sacramento!😀🥰 I hope the bring the mid day love music back❤️
We ordered the GF chicken pad Thai and even asked them to mark it as a gluten allergy. They accidentally added a bunch of fried tofu, which is not gluten free. Might have to go to the hospital and they said they can't do anything for us. With me luck, I guess.
I’ve ordered takeout twice from them: once Vegan Thai Coconut Soup-Tom Kha and most recently veggie tofu pad Thai, and I’m still eating the leftovers of the pad Thai!! I can taste the quality and love that they don’t skimp out on the vegetables. 5 stars from me! Can’t wait to experience in person.
