Classic Thai dishes, vegan fare & craft beer on tap served in a modern, art-decorated space.
What a great restaurant! I tried the Drunken Noodle with chicken and my honey had the Spicy Pad Thai. He also had some hot saki and a beer that looked like grape kool aid - he said all were really good. We had coconut ice cream with an edible flower. (I had never eaten a flower, tastes like salad.) Really friendly staff, really good food, clean dining room and an all around pleasant experience.
Low key restaurant offering classic Thai favorites with a few twists. I love the avocado curries, you can get 2 curries with the avocado option - yellow and green, green is highly recommended. I add the chicken and along with rice, the dish comes out to under $18 which is affordable especially for the area. They have several beers on tap, including local favorites and you can even get a pitcher for under $10. Highly recommend.
The service is fast and friendly. We usually wait about 3 to 5 minutes for our food to come out piping hot. And the portions are on the larger end, once you factor in the rice (of which is included in the price, bonus points!) Also, the curry bowls are deceiving, there's more food than it seems.
Always have good music playing, definitely my favorite place for Thai on the grid due to its unassuming nature.
Everything about our experience was AMAZING! Service was fast and attentive. The food was so fresh and great flavor. We ordered so many different things! Fresh rolls, cheese wonton, potstickers, and fried calamari for appetizers. Tom yum soup, BBQ chicken, basil fried rice, and black pepper vegetables with tofu. The Thai coffee was perfect. I will be returning <3
*update: this place has become our top restaurant. We're essentially a regular here to the point they know our order. I can't say enough goood about this place. *
We decided to stop by here on a whim wanting to try some Thai food. We walked in around 8 pm and were quickly greeted by the host. We were told to sit anywhere we liked. We found a table and the server has 2 menu's and waters for us quickly. There menu was one page and consisted of section of starters that included things like garlic fries and fried wontons, entrees, drinks, and desserts.
The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night but the masses of takeout orders seemed promising.
We asked the server her favorite item and she recommended the yellow curry. So I got that. My partner got the cashew vegetables with tofu. Both dishes were served with a choice of white or brown rice.
The yellow curry was a large bowl filled with goodies including potatoes carrots chicken and others filled in a stew of sweet but mildly spicy Yello curry sauce. The coconut flavor filled the bowl. I don't think I have had a better yellow curry.
The cashew vegetables with tofu came out on a plate that could probably feed two people. It had steamed vegetables with tofu and cashews that were coated in a wonderful sweet and savory sauce served with rice.
The food was fresh hot and full of flavor. The staff were very attentive and super nice even though they were getting close to closing.
All in all I'd highly recommend this place for a warm bowl of curry!

My sister took me here and I felt in love with their food. I recommend the vegetables dish.
The noodles had so much flavor. I was very impressed with the food and the service was Great. Our waiter really made our meal fun. I had a great time in this little place. This is a hidden gem.
great food and service, and very affordable :)
Omg I love this place! A lil whole in the wall, but damn the staff is super nice, big large servings. We had the spring roll, papaya salad and drunkly noodles we ate just about all of it and did not feel stuffed brought the leftovers for lunch. Please try them out.
Went in here to pick up my order and the short guy with black hair is so rude.
Short angry answers and responses. Bro Iβm buying your food. Chill. You donβt gotta treat people like they know nothing.
Good luck. I wonβt be back
Small restaurant, good location, GREAT service, GREAT food. I'm a repeat customer, and now my mother joins me and enjoys the service and food as much as I do.

The atmosphere the good is somewhat deceiving! The food is excellent! They are very attentive! My advice is please visit!!
Delicions and way better than Thai basil. The front of house was also very friendly.
This is our go to place for Thai food in Sacramento for the last 5 years.
We have tried all their dishes but now stick to these 4 dishes: garlic chicken, drunken noodles, cashew nut chicken and Thai fried rice.
Their service is impeccable, and so quick. Poke is our fav host there. So nice and informative.
The most terrible tom yum I've ever tasted in my life. I was served without rice, sweet, this is not Tom Yum like in Thailandβ¦.
Guys serving sweet and sour Tom yam without rice, without tomatoes, but lot of onions and mushrooms π€£π€£π€£ was that Tom yam or sweet vegetable soup?????π€£ I can definitely say that it was my worst Tom yam try π€£
This was our second time to the drunken noodle and it was just as good as the first. I got the avocado curry and my wife got the drunken noodle dish. Lots of flavor and the serving size was excellent. We left so full. Highly recommend.
Uncooked Pineapple yellow curry, garlic pepper without peppers and fried rice with rivers of soy sauce. Overall unhappy
Decent food, curry sauce was more oil than coconut milk watered down compared to other local Thai restaurants & horrible service.
We entered the restaurant knowing exactly what we wanted. The waitress was persistent on pushing her suggestions after we declined
not once but several times. In one instance I declined to have any rice (watching my carbs) & the waitress told me, "Just buy it anyways and take it home."
During less than half way of finishing our receipt placed inside a cup was just plopped in the middle of the table.
Finally, paying for our meal was a nightmare the cashier generated an Apple Pay Transaction that timed out before I could walk up to the register and tap my phone. The cashier was so arrogant that she refused to restart the transaction so I could pay electronically with left me with the option to pay cash because I just wanted to leave that place asap.
To make matters worse the cashier angrily stared at me the entire time while mumbling under her breath just a hellish atmosphere.
I've been to several Thai restaurants where within 15 minutes I can enjoy a great meal & conversation but this place is the worse on my list.
Best Thai food in Sacramento. Always delicious, huge portions, friendly and fast.
Love this place! The food is amazing!
We ordered Drunkem noodle with shrimp since my kids are allergic to meat. The girl at the counter told us they clean everything for Vegan and Allergic people. As you can see they lied to us. Thereβs meat inside the noodle. I donβt recommend anyone if youβre vegetarian because theyβll do anything to make a sale. Especially the girl at the counter has lots of attitude and very bad customer service. She needs to learn how to treat customer right or the owner has to close the shop because of her.
Great Thai food with great price. Big proportion.
Good food. Just take note that they do not accept AMEX for payment.
Place was out of Blue Moon beer and the hostess/server recommended a similar beer and it was fantastic. Food was amazing and great atmosphere! Highly recommend 10/10
Midtown went down because of the homeless people issue but the quality of food here is a contraindication of midtown problem.
The taste was good and the price was okay.
We ordered Papaya salad, Drunken Noodles and Tom Yum Soup and it was great portions for the two of us.
I will definitely come back with other friends!
Every dish Iβve had has been terrific. Food is always super flavourful. This place is very good value.
I was drunk, I had noodles. They were good. 10/10
Fast and Friendly service
Don't say you close at 2pm, but lock the door 15 minutes before 2pm. Say you close at 1:45pm!
Great food, great service. Everything was delicious!
The food was great and so was the service! One of the best Thai food I've had in Sacramento.
The food and service was amazing!! The prices were reasonable and serving sizes were large.
Iβm SO glad we found this place!!
Absolutely excellent thai food and prompt, informative service.
Curries, noodles, potstickers, pineapple fried rice...are extraordinarily tasty, fresh and generously served.
Beer & wine list is broad and reasonably priced, as is the menu.
It's a Midtown J St gem that's sometimes very busy...no wonder.
I think you'll be very pleased and returning, as we, to explore the menu.
*****
Got Thai Tea w/coconut milk and it was the best thai tea I've had. Drunken noodles w/ veggies was saucy and delicious. Veggies were cooked just right. I called and placed my order over the phone, they told me 15-20 minutes. I got there in 15 and my food was ready. Attentive when I walked in. I'll be back.
Food was good, portions large and service was quick.
Good authentic & excellent Thai food. There is a place kitty corner that's about 30% more expensive but I am guessing not even close to as good as this place. I asked for extra hot Thai style and they nailed it. π₯ Hot & very flavorful! 10 thumbs up! π₯ππ
Delicious food!
We had the Tom Yum soup and Shrimp Drunken Noodles. Fantastic, authentic and fresh. Thanks to all the previous reviews it influenced our choice and I would dine here again.
So many fresh ingredients and veggies! Great food!
Incredible drunken noodles!
The green curry is excellent. Yellow curry is perfect for a rainy day.
We enjoyed our experience here. We ordered the drunken noodles with beef. I particularly liked the flavor the vegetables give to the dish and the beef had a char taste. The portion was good too.
We also ordered the yellow curry with chicken which was delicious too, similarly with a good amount of vegetables in it. We had to order an extra portion of rice to finish the dish.
Service was great too.
Great Thai brown fried rice and drunken noodles. Tofu was soft and not burnt, and the vegetables were all very fresh and crispy instead of soggy. I think it's the same company as coconut on T bc website has both of them on it - another great place.
Delicious food, very friendly staff and a cute, small, cozy setting.
First time at the Drunken Noodle service was great. Food was good, I will go back must vist. Not that big inside, besides that Allgood.
I love their yellow curry with chicken !:)
Honestly anyone who thinks this is the best thai food in sac you are either being paid for the review or you haven't had good thai food. The drunken noodles hot order is mild at best for any other place I've tried and the food was bland. No seasoning on the chicken, the sauce was so watery and unflavored it was almost an insult to good thai food.
good
So so good. Lots of vegan options. Definitely recommend.
The food is amazing! The Avocado green curry is the best I have ever had! 5 stars all the way!
I've been here twice and it was excellent both times. Best thai I have had anywhere.
Staff is always friendly, great price for all the menu, taste of food is also on point. Will never stop eating there.
Great prices here and friendly staff. The food is pretty good, and they have good options. Their takeout is fast too, and they give accurate quotes of how long it will take to be done.
Fresh rolls are amazing! Good service!
Amazing vegan choices. Amazing staff.
Great food! Excellent portions!
The food is is really good, I have my weekly Thai routine here, and loved it every time
I went here for a quick bite to eat as I'm discovering new places in town and they are very good and it didn't take too long to get the food. I ordered pot stickers that came with some kind of sauce for $6 and I got the spicy pad Thai and added beef and veggies for a couple extra bucks β $18 . The portions are massive. This is definitely a good place to go with someone. I spent about $24 before tip when I went alone but I have leftovers for a couple days. The atmosphere is rather interesting though, but they have very pretty and unique painting on the walls. All in all I enjoyed my experience and would definitely go back to try the drunken noodles that the restaurant is named for.
πThe food was delicious π₯°
If you are looking for flavor, this is the spot. We enjoyed the fresh veggie rolls, avocado green curry and pad thai.
The spice level on the curry is perfect and was full of fresh veggies. The avocado itself was ripe and added a wonderful texture. The eggplant was cut to a audible size compared to other locations where the veggies seem to be rustically cubed into big chunks.
The pad Thai dish was not dry and the perfect sauce level. It had that tang you are looking for, a hint of sweetness, and some spice.
The fresh rolls were fun to eat. They did come out cut like sushi rolls but that made it for a clean eating experience. Again, the peanut sauce was warm, and a good consistency.
It does feel like a hole in the wall location but inside is clean and the staff are super friendly and polite.
Oh and I forgot to mention that the water offered is infused with mint, lemon, and apple slices!
This is our new favorite Thai spot in midtown!
Yellow curry was delicious!
Food and service was great.
So Bad. I have been here 5 times and the owner usually runs the place well. Drove from Folsom to Sac at 2.30 Saturday today and ordered green curry and red as usual. so bad watered down green curry and red curry filled with veggies and tilapia stale dry no curry . 35 bucks drain and bad experience
Come here all the time as I live right around the corner. Here and of course Coconut on T, is easily the best tasting and most affordable Thai food in downtown Sac.
Love the service, even though they get slammed at times as it is a small spot.
No complaints really but holy spice!! They said they have level 2-5 but a 2 was incredibly spicy so just beware
WOW THAT IS GOOD!
This is one of the best places to get drunken noodles in town (Iβd hope so, since itβs in the name!). They also have a selection of other Thai food that is prepared fresh and can be customized to your preferences - all very good! The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for from a little hole-in-the-wall?
Great gluten-free Thai food, quality, quantity, and pricing all top notch.
My go to spot for Thai when I lived in midtown. They are the sister restaurant to Coconut on T. Ordering takeout throughout the pandemic has been super easy and their food comes in reusable containers which is a plus. I've enjoyed their noodle, curries and rice dishes, all of which come as a healthy serving that can last a few meals for once person. Their staff are kind and work hard despite the demand, so remember to have patience. There is limited seating inside but turnover is reasonable. Definitely recommend if you're looking for delicious Thai in midtown.
The fried bananas with Ice cream were GREAT!!! I have never tried it his style before, they are not plantains it tastes little like turrΓ³n with coconut ice cream in the side. I loved their drunken noodles and their fried cheese won tons were super tasty! You must try that dessert!
Best Thai restaurant in downtown Sacramento. Food is served extremely fresh and quickly. Great deals on craft beer specials and healthy food options. If you're looking for a top notch Thai restaurant that is authentic and friendly, this is your spot
The food was good quality.
90% of my takeout is from this place. Ljke a second home.
Basil stir-fry. Cashew nut stir-fry. Thai fried rice. All insanely good/addictive (delicious tofu and all can be made vegan).
The best thai food ever that comes out in 15 minutes or less, $2 beer specials EVERYDAY, the nicest server/hostess and the absolute best busser/server he was zooming everywhere and as soon as I looked up he noticed by my face that I needed something. I love it there so much.
Really good Thai food. Much larger portions for the prices that you would get at other Thai restaurants. I only wished they had a larger indoor dining space.
Great food! The red curry is delicious.
Good food.
Stopped by here on our long drive home as I was craving noodles. Photos are not deceiving! Some of the best noodles I had. Packed with veggies and a lot of good tasting sauce. Plenty to take home, friendly staff as well.
Love love the food/appetizers!! We actually just recently found it and now it's our go to for a healthier meal! Lots of people calling in and picking up their order as well!! Seems popular :)
I love their noodles. I usually get Basil chicken with them.
Great food and service. Food came out hot and fast. Prices are fair and the place is clean.
This is pretty good restaurant. Especially with this price and this quality food, itβs really amazing. I visit here in happy hour time. Spring rolls, calamari fries, garlic french fries are happy hour menu so each dish was less than 5bucks. They made them when I ordered so it taste fresh. I like their calamari fries and the sauce. Spring rolls have some tofu inside which went well with their peanut sauce. Garlic fries are okay but not that special. As an entree, i got red curry with chicken. They put a lot of ingredients and blended well in the soup. I was told this place is run by the same owner which is coconut on T. However taste is pretty different. Drunken noodle is way better and fresh.
Just had the best green curry ever, Thai hot is definitely the way to go! The shrimp were big and cooked to perfection. Eat here!!!
Delicious Thai food! Everything I tried was yummy. I got the fresh rolls as an appetizer and the green curry. also tried the drunken noodles and enjoyed everything.
Great service, food to the table super quick and super delicious
Not for vegans. To be clear, vegan friendly versions are offered as options on all dishes but they come out very bland. It's like rather than substituting the non-vegan ingredients (fish sauce) with a vegan friendly ingredient, they just removed the ingredient altogether and left it plain. May be tasty for non-vegan but... very mid for a $12 entre. Hopefully this changes and proves this review wrong but for now, could not recommend.
The soup was good!
Good food. π
Dine in is open.
We ordered fresh rolls, eggplant with chicken, drunken noodles, and mango with sticky rice.
All come with big portion. Ingredients are fresh but chicken and beef were overcooked.
The flat noodle was not the ones I used to have in other Thai restaurants.
Dipping for the rolls was okay.
Our favorite dish is the dessert. Very good coconut ice cream. Sticky rice was well cooked and served warm. Mango was a bit unripe. Overall good dessert.
The food was absolutely phenomenal and unbelievably fresh! Some of the best Thai food Iβve ever had.
Best thai in midtown/downtown. My go-to every time. Great food and reasonable prices.
I love this place the Drunken noodle with shrimp and the pot stickers are the best.
We freaking love this place. Watch out though, that βmediumβ spicy is not medium!
One of my favorite Thai places; the green papaya salad was deliciously spicy!π₯πΆοΈβΊοΈ
The lady who took our order has a great personality. But I gotta be honest, the sauce in the cashew and the pad thai were both WAY too surgary. Thai fast food for Americans. Not worth the price.
I had a Yellow Curry Chicken for a to go on my recent visit, a 2nd one for me, and I couldn't get enough of it, although it was packed generously. It's on my favorites list now!
Best food
Ok so I absolutely adore (and usually only ever order) Yellow curry chicken, Chicken fried rice and Thai Iced tea. I am usually pretty picky when it comes to Thai food. I like what I like. If I dont like these items at a certain Thai restaurant then I usually won't come back. I have found very few Thai restaurants that I adore and this place is now one of them. I will definitely come back to this Restaurant.
So good and they give you so much food
Solid thai food and delicious thai iced teas!
Excellent Thai food with generous portions. One of the best flavors in the region..
Their curry was great. The Pad Thai was good. Unfortunately, they charged my payment card twice for my ToGo Order. On my receipt it showed the correct amount of $34.36 but 2 days after I check my bank account they ended up charging me $68.72. Went back twice over to talk to their manager to fix the issue but he/she wasnβt there. They told me theyβd call me to confirm that they have sent my refund but no calls. Hell of a first impression because I thought I was gonna come back to order Thai food from them from now on but with this screw up I am deeply discouraged.
Very cozy place. Great noodles
Food was awesome. Servers were polite. Nice ambiance.
Absolutely delicious! We got pad see ee
Excellent, excellent Thai food with lots of flavors. Possibly one of the best Thai we have had in Sac. Prices are good with good portion sizes. Surely to go back to; and very friendly too.
Great food! I've never had a bad dish from here and the prices are great. They also have large portion sizes and $2 beers don't hurt either. My favorite Thai place in Sac!
Great place. Great food
We came to Sacramento for a business trip and needed a good Thai place to eat nearby. Found this restaurant on Google and read most of the reviews, which were mostly positive; so decided to give it a try. Wow, outstanding like the reviews! We ordered 3 dishes and of course one of them was Drunken noodles. The other two were eggplant stir fry (which surprisingly came with rice (brown or white, price included) and Pad See Ew. All dishes were great, not greasy or overwhelmed with sauce. Oh, did i mention I am Thai? So, with my comment about the food here, you can be assured that it tasted quite authentic, although I would have liked it not sweet. But it wasn't that overly sweet like some other Thai restaurants. Portions were huge and pricing was reasonable $10+ with selection of different types of meats, natural or organic. I ordered mine with tofu and it was yummy! I loved how they put lots of veggies in each dish. Service was great. Our waitress and waitor were very friendly. Definitely will go back when we come near this area again.
Had Basil with tofu. Outstanding. 3/4 heat level was pretty spicy.
One of my all time favorite thai restaurants. The food is great, affordable, and comes in large portions. They have $2 beer during happy hour. This place really deserves 5 stars
Good food decent prices and portions
Great lunch. Large portions, fast, and great taste and quality. And best of all it's a good value. Yum!
The best I have ever had
Always a fan of Thai cuisine. I have been eating in different thai restaurant in the town and this is one of my favourite. Will definitely plan to come here again.
Excelent flavors and good size portions.
Everything I have ever had here is amazing. Service is always prompt and everyone is so nice. Casual dining, good portions, good prices. Probably the best Thai I have had in Sac . Pina colada at the Jungle Bird next door for dessert.
Small quaint place !!! Food was spectacular, fast service, and large portions !! Guarantee you will Not be disappointed !!
The Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and fish curry were the best we've ever had! Can't wait to go back
Really nice staff, good service, excellent food & HUGE servings.
Fantastic food, quick and delicious. Cheap happy hour beer too!
Great food except that one time I found hair on my food. They couldβve comp me for it but they offered to replace it and give me coffee. I donβt want coffeeβI want food without hair.
Super good ty food and got beer big porshin of grub
Thai iced tea is the best I have ever had so is that eggplant dish got with no spice went back and got med spicy and I have fell in love
Amazing Curry and delicious food all around. There are many Thai places in Sac but this is one of the best in terms of price and taste!
The menu isn't huge, but what they make they are very good at. Delicious food at a great price. Cheap drinks and friendly service.
One heads up - this place is pretty small and can get packed tight at lunch, so be prepared. There to-go packaging is really good too, so if that is an option for you then rest assured... you won't have to worry about melting styrofoam or leaking boxes.
