Love this little hidden gem! Family owned, always super nice and friendly. The food if not fatty or greasy one bit. The owner is the main chef and cooks majority of the food herself. I will absolutely continue supporting this local business and wish others would as well.
We ordered the curry rolls, drunken noodles and crab fried rice here. As a native Singaporean who’s been to Thailand numerous times, I can tell you that their food is absolutely authentic especially the drunken noodles. The crab fried rice and curry rolls were also amazing! We also had excellent service here and we’ll absolutely come back here if we happen to pass by again. Sorry no pictures, food was too good we didn’t manage to take a photo. ;)
I've given this place a few tries, and I give up. First try was Pad Thai, which should be the best thing at a Thai place. Bland dry boiled chicken, unseasoned small (probably also boiled) shrimp. Soggy old unseasoned veggies. Anything on the menu that says "pan fried" is a lie, noodles are all soggy. The curry base they use for everything is definitely just some store bought dry mix stirred with coconut milk. I've never had more bland and flavorless Thai anywhere before. On my final attempt at giving this place a shot, I ordered Three Flavor Noodles, extra spicy. Their idea of making something spicy is just dumping red pepper flakes on it until its inedible. I love really hot and spicy foods, and expected it to be a hotter curry sauce or seasoning mix, but no, just about a cup of red pepper flakes mixed into the soggy (definitely not pan fried) noodles. After all my companions had finished eating (the server never stopped to check on us, this place is small its not exactly asking much) I pointed out that my wife and I had both had 1 bite of my pile of pepper flakes and found it inedible. He took it back and said he would take it off the bill, as I had just spent my lunch hour with a burning mouth while staring at the front counter, hoping maybe the server would notice. Much later, he came back and offered to replace the dish, which I agreed to get the bland pineapple curry my wife got (complete with the boiled plain unbrined unseasoned chicken). After about another 20 minutes, he comes back with my togo container(with a broken leaking lid). He goes around the table getting payment, and instead of comping my wasted lunch hour (and losing a potential customer forever + me telling everyone I work with across the street about it) he charges me $16 for it. The to-go cup is barely 2 cups worth, with the tiniest little soggy white rice box I've ever seen. I assume they've only stayed in business because of people with low standards who don't want to travel farther for lunch.
Picture 1 shows the obscene amount of red pepper flakes dumped on the dish (and also mixed in).
Picture 2 shows the teeny tiny to go containers of what their idea of a single portion is. The Tapatio bottle for reference is one of those small 10oz bottles, phone camera makes it look bigger than it is. Maybe 1 cup of rice and about 1.5 cups of the "curry" which is mostly boiled bell peppers and whole cherry tomatoes (what are cherry tomatoes doing in curry to begin with? Taking up space...)
I will start with the service. Matthew is amazing, a true host. The food is probably the best Thai food I have tried in the US. 10|10 would recommend. Will definitely be back!
Our second visit to this nice little dinner spot. Had the pumpkin curry, the crab fried rice, and the Pra Ram. Everything was tasty and the crab fried rice was one of the best we have had in some time. Very nice flavor and big chunks of crab. And they were lovely about checking our need for gluten free. No problems or worries. And the cost was reasonable and the setting comfortable and quiet.
This is one of our favorite local places. We order from here at least twice per month, for the last 3 years. The food is always delicious, and the service is always great. Favorite dishes are Basil Fried Rice, and Pad Thai. They also serve local beer and wine. Best Thai food in the area.
Loved the food, the vibe and atmosphere.✨

One of the best Thai food in town!!

I had Pad See Ew with shrimp for $22, which is more expensive than other Thai restaurants in the area. The shrimp lacked flavor, and overall, it tasted just so so.
My out of town friends and I stopped here for dinner for the first time after attending a class at the new Action Camera store. Matt and Dan made us feel very welcomed from the moment we walked in. When asked, Matt recommended some delicious entrees. We will return to dine here on our next visit to Rocklin. Thank you for the delicious dinner and excellent service!
I love love love this place! If you love Tom Kha this place makes out of the world Thai soup. Some say that you can taste love in food, this is so true here. Check it out if you’re in the Rocklin area. The Greater Sacramento food scene is killing it!
Best food and service, you won't find better Thai food in the area
I took my daughter to the restaurant a few months ago. The food tasted good and the service was good, BUT we had to move tables in the middle of our meal because the electrical outlet next to us was sparking. A few minutes after we left, we rushed home because we both got food poisoning. It was our first time there, and our last.
The foods are overpriced and the servants are not nice
Small mom and pop style place with friendly owners, great service, and terrific food. The best Thai place in the region. Everything tastes very fresh and is excellently prepared. Nice spot for a semi-casual date.

Really good and authentic Thai food. Kind and friendly service. Will return to try other dishes
Our vegetables were cooked to perfection. We ordered the ginger salmon special with fried bananas and mango ice cream for dessert. Service was friendly and customer focused. Live music created a soothing and relaxed atmosphere.
Just wonderful
First time dinning, exceptional service and good food.
Nice, knowledgeable staff. Fantastic food.
Called in an order for pick up. I ordered 8 items.
The meat was so tough.
Not enough sauce on dishes.
The dish size was very small compared to the price. 15 and 20 dollars for a dish but hardly any food there.
The vegetables were still crunchy.
It took 50 minutes for 8 dishes and everything was cold.
Came here because it was the highest rated thai restaurant in the area and was not disappointed, we ordered the drunken noodles and green curry as a lunch, so delicious, amazing service and affordable prices, if you are in the roseville, rocklin area this is the place to try!
Great local place with fantastic food and friendly service. They have a large lunch special menu. Had the green curry and silver noodle. Both were delicious and we left full and happy
We loved our experience. We stopped in on our way home in Vacaville after seeing our first grandchild. It was a celebratory dinner. The food was delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere was in fact a chill vibe. Love the live music. A very nice touch. We will definitely make a trip back up.👍🏾
Great service. Great food,
This place is delicious and the owners are so kind and sweet! We love going here. I think some of these bad reviews may be from folks who just can't handle the heat!
I have been going here for years since it's right across the street from work, and it's still wonderful. The owners are great people and the chef knows what they're doing. It's wonderful food with authentic ingredients. I look forward to visiting for years to come.
I’ve had many excellent meals at BCTC! I always order Thai-hot, and I let the chef cook her choice of dish. So so good!

I've been going to this restaurant since 2008 and I really can say it has the best Thai food around here.. the food never disappoints, any time I try something new it's even better than the last. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Sometimes the waiting time could be a little longer but totally worth the wait. The ambiance is so nice, very cozy and intimate. Also please try their iced coffee, it's a must.
Enjoyed the fabulous soups and noodle dishes. We will be back. The ambiance was delightful.
Stopped by here on my lunch break and got a red curry with chicken to go. Excellent food and fast, friendly service. Great value too, will definitely be back!
The teriyaki here is amazing!
Good food and reasonable price
Excellent, highly recommended! Been going here for a few years for our Thai food fix. Whenever I branch out and try another dish I’m always been impressed with the flavors.
Delicious food, fresh and flavorful! Wonderful service. Cozy ambiance.
We ordered dinner and waited for over ONE hour; our dinner didn’t come. The waiter didn’t have decency to say I’m sorry I forgot to place your dinner. I’m pretty sure he forgot what we ordered so he couldn’t even do a rush order. It ruined our Saturday dinner. We walked out of the restaurant and will never go back.
I have been a regular for the past several years. When visitors from out of town come in we always order from Bangkok Thai. Who would have known Rocklin has one of the best Thai restaurants around! Highly recommended!
I heard this place has been highly rated. I think I should check it out for myself. I was super, ultra, extremely disappointed after picked up my order. Nit only the portion was only one third of normal size, but also the way how the meat was handled, the overall flavor, nothing worth the price they charged. If there is negative star, I would definitely give it to them without hesitation.
Food tasted awful and was expensive. Meat was unbearably dry. Takeout containers were filled only halfway. (Why deliberately serve small portions when the food already tastes awful?) Ruined our night. Don't come here unless you like disappointment and losing money.
They made the food in 20 minutes and were very kind while ordering. We got the green and yellow curries, rice, and a pad Thai to share among the family of adults. Finally, a mango and black rice dessert.
Overall, great food. I wouldn’t order the pad Thai again, but the curries were delicious and has a decent amount when taken to go. The mango sticky rice was very good, as well!
excellent food, very flavorful and right amount of heat
Owner very friendly and personable Will he back for sure
Very good food. Super friendly family business.
I have been coming here since I was a student at Sierra College from 2007-2010. I moved away, traveled to Thailand because this restaurants food was so awe inducing! I recently got a job near this restaurant and I am so excited that I get to treat myself to it for lunch now and then. It is the best Thai restaurant to this day that I have ever been to. Also, it is a mom and pop shop and that owners are the sweetest. So, I love that It's a small business to support! 10/10
I really want to like this place. Make sure to ask for spicy, as even traditionally spicy dishes will be very mild if you don't. Daughter was very dissatisfied with the yellow curry as well.
Amazing flavor delicious food. We had pad see ew with beef, crab fried rice with prawns, Tom yum gai. All recommended. Fast friendly and family feel. Can’t wait to come back!
Best Thai around!
Super friendly neighborhood place. Chill jazz, awesome food. So glad they are open again for dine in. A local treasure!!
This place is a hidden gem, tucked into a small strip mall across the street from Sierra community college.
The food is outstanding with lots of flavors. A few favorites - chicken satay appetizer, the shrimp mango curry and the eggplant delight. Soooo good!
Service is very friendly and welcoming. Owners take great pride in their restaurant and making sure everyone is happy. Pre COVID they had a gentleman playing the piano a few times a week. Not sure if he’s back now.
Delicious larb chicken salad
First time ordering from here. The staff was nice, and the flavors of the food were spot on. What was really off-putting was that I found a fried up bug in the Pad See Ew. Not only that, but the scallops in the dish were probably old because they tasted fishy, and scallops don't taste like that when their fresh. And they were really overcooked. I called to let them know what I found and he told me that if I came back, I could get another pad see ew for free...but I told them we can't eat anything else in our order because we can't trust that there aren't more bugs in the food. Their solution to this was to come back and get a Pad See Ew with scallops for free...not a refund for our order...$53 right in the trash along with the bug infested food...don't come here.
Seriously the best thai place in the Sacramento area. Nothing compares. Not in quality, efficiency, price, and overall welcoming atmosphere. I've been ordering from here since I was in 4th grade. This restaurant is a true local gem. The owners are wonderful people that truly understand and know thai cuisine. I don't think I could ever eat any other Thai food ever again.
This is one of our favorite local places. We order from here at least twice per month, for the last 3 years. The food is always delicious, and the service is always great. Favorite dishes are Basil Fried Rice, and Pad Thai. They also serve local beer and wine. Best Thai food in the area.
This is the best Thai Food in the universe. Never have I been disappointed. The quality of food and service is exemplary. Thank you so much for being here all of these years. You are all amazing.
We arrived to the place at 7:30, half an hour before they close - and they wouldn’t take orders any more. What’s the point of opening times If they are not honored?
I've only eaten there once, but they had some interesting twists on traditional ideas. Everything was at least good, most of it was very good.
This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. The staff is incredible, the food is incredible, everything. I can not recommend it enough.
Great food, flavors, and service! I have eaten here over 10 times, and every time, the food and service are excellent. Personal favorite is the drunken noodles dish.... can't get enough of it! All dishes have the option to add your choice of protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, seafood medley or tofu and you can have it made with your preferred level of spicy, or no spice at all. Highly recommend trying this place if you are looking for a great Thai dish.
Food was bland. Service was very slow and very unfriendly. Will not return. Very disappointed
Fav Thai food! Great flavors, all fresh, friendly place
Hidden gem of a restaurant! Locally owned, delightful owners and servers. Food so fresh and full of wonderful flavors. Its a small restaurant in a sm strip center Cross from Sierra College. The decor is beautiful and cozy and weekend live music is an added nice touch. We have been there several times and everything is consistently fabulous!
One our absolute favorite Thai food restaurants. Wife and Husband owned. Great place.
Been there 100 times. Great family business. Food is superb.
Excellent place
Visited for the first time this week. Everyone in the family loved their food. Especially the soup! Loved the live entertainment, it gave a fun touch to the evening. We will return.
The food was amazing, best Thai food in town. Definitely recommend. Amazing service and so much flavor in each dish! Love it.
Curries were on the dry side more like a thick stew.
Not a lot of flavor in the food was expecting better from the reviews
Favorite spot to get Thai near work!
Nice, clean with good service.
Really good food, high quality and great people
I don't live in the Rocklin area, but now whenever I visit with family out here we come to Bangkok City Thai. I have a favorite Thai already and wasn't expecting to be so blown away be their food here, but the Panang Curry was "plate licking" good. Although I did refrain from licking the plate since the place was steadily busy and we were centrally seated.
I always come by purchasing some food in this spot. I loved the quick customer service and well prepared food. Keep up the good work.
Nice place to eat... great people and good food
Oh my goodness! AMAZING!!!! My wife and I love Thai and enjoy trying different places. I have been wanting to try Bankok City so tonight we did, wow what a treat. The chicken Satay was fantastic as were the chicken fried wontons. The red curry was delicious, my wife's pad see ew was the best she's ever had and my Thai basil was out-of-this-world-gob-smakin-good!!
On top of the incredible food the staff were so friendly & the owner and his wife even came out and chatted with us for a while. Great people great food. I love supporting small family owned businesses like this. Tonight was a great experience. If you like Thai you should definitely give them a try. You'll probably see us there! ;)
Food is good, pleasant service. But not much variety though the menu looks big. Flavors are a bit muted. Nothing really stood out as memorable or a reason to really want to visit again.
Love this place. Great relaxing atmosphere, good customer service and good food.
Great food and service!
Really good first experience here. I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so I got the Curry Rolls and the Spicy Curry Noodles. Both were excellent. The deep fried rolls were in foil and ventilated so they'd stay crisp. The rolls were served up with a small cup of cucumber salad that was fresh and light. The spicy curry noodles live up to their name and actually have a decent kick. The mixture of snow peas, carrots, chicken and rice noodles are killer with the spicy curry sauce.
If take-out is this good, then dine-in I'm sure is going to be just as good if not better.
I'll definitely be returning to this place to try more on the menu.
The hosts are always so nice. They have live piano music on Friday nights (and maybe other nights). The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is friendly. And the food is great! I order for pickup a lot. The green salmon curry and the drunken noodles are my favorite.
The food is quite good, depends on what you order. Some dishes are ok. The female Thai waitress (bob hair style), however, is not consistent in her hospitality and services toward different customers. She could choose to ignore you completely, or being inappropriately flirtatious to the male customers. Also, should improve the decoration and did some upgrades of this place.
The service was very friendly, but I was so disappointed with the food. I called in a take out order and overall the flavors were just OK. The portion sizes were about 1/3 smaller than standard. Here's a little more detail:
1. Pumpkin curry - the curry sauce had a thin watery consistency and was not flavorful. I've never experienced this thin non-creamy consistency with curry anywhere else. Some of the pumpkin was very overcooked and mushy, while other parts were properly cooked. The pumpkin chunk sizes were also very large and inconsistent.
2. Drunken noodles - overall the best thing in my order, good flavor.
3. Eggplant in garlic sauce - The sauce was thin and watery, and there wasn't much of it. So it didn't stick to the eggplant, which left it lacking in flavor.
4. Tom yum goong with prawns (I actually ordered Tom Kha Goong, but they gave me the wrong soup, probably because it's hard to hear clearly when ordering over the phone- so much background noise). The flavor was OK, but not the best I've had, and the prawns were overcooked and rubbery. I was also disappointed that they weren't willing to substitute a vegetable for the mushrooms without charging extra.
5. Brown rice - good texture, cooked properly, a nice blend of thai brown jasmine and thai red rice.
Very good food and service.
My family, and many others, love this restaurant! The owners are more than nice and the food is stellar.
Sometimes takes a while to get your food especially to go, but this is the best Thai in the area! Love the pad see ew!
I love their drunken noodles, great lunch specials and wonderful owners!
The green city salmon and curry rolls were phenomenal. Everything else was pretty standard except prices were high and portions were small. Service was friendly, except they made a point of mentioning that they took the orders of people who came in after us first "because they are regulars." Yeah... We noticed.
Amazing kindness we received last night, we are down here staying with family since we lost our home in the Campfire. They comped our meal and were extremely kind and gracious. The food was outstanding, perfect portions, I can not say thank you enough.
I absolutely love this restaurant!! The food and the service are both perfect!
Went there 3 days in a row for lunch. It was super good and addicting..
If you are looking for the BEST Thai food in the North State, possible whole state. This is it. Every bite is full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, so fresh you think they have a garden in there back yard. If there is a wait, there is a good reason. Don’t be a needy, entitled child.....wait and see why there is a wait (because the food is AMAZING, they are local family owned and speed is second to quality)
Delish. Jang makes the home cooking thai
Great food! Great staff and owners!
Great food. Good lunch specials. Almost anything can be made vegetarian
Delicious fresh food. I love the pad asparagus!
Absolutely delicious. Jang the owner and head chef is the best of her craft! I will ALWAYS come here for Thai food and GREAT customer service. Always friendly and very yummy. They have live music on the weekend in the evening also. They take large party reservations also. Group of friends will be coming here for bdays in the future!
Excellent service and delicious food!!
Love this place! Shrimp was awesome and the hostess was so nice! Great taste and familiarity to authentic Thai dishes!😎 5 stars!
Best Tai noodles you can get super spicy 3 flavored noodles Tai hot is the best staff is super friendly and kind they give you a complimentary salad and the rice is cooked perfectly couldn't ask for a better restruant across the school I go to
The food here is awesome and everyone that works here is super helpful and fun to be around. I definitely would eat here if you get the chance. Super great place.
This gem is tucked away in a quiet corner of a quiet strip mall in Rocklin. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is delicious. I had the beef kratiem today, can't wait to come back and have it again!!
This is the best Thai in town. Amazing service and food. Reasonable pricing. Will definitely go again! Try the Boat Noodles.
Best Thai food ever. Great service. Family owned and operated.
I love coming to this place durning my lunch break. They effortlessly create delicious vegatarian dishes for me. The service is always delightful.
I recently stopped in for dinner here with my co-worker and we enjoyed the food. There was plenty of parking even though the restaurant was pretty filled up with other customers. We were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and the lady that worked there, possibly the owner, was very talkative. We started with Thai Iced Teas with Coconut Milk which were very refreshing. I think the taste is lighter with Coconut Milk vs. using creamer. We ordered the Pumpkin Curry from the specials menu, Papaya Salad, and Chili Chicken with Veggies. All three of the dishes we very tasty. We ordered all three dishes with medium spice, but we did let them know after dinner that the Papaya salad seem to be a lot spicier than the rest of our dishes.
Excellent soup, curry, and chow mein. I have been a customer for 6 years and never had a bad meal. Best Thai food from Grass Valley to Sacramento.
1st time visiting this Thai restaurant and definitely not the last. What a great find yesterday! Best won ton soup I've had to date. Won tons were not gummy like at other restaurants and perfectly executed with just a touch of sweetness.
Phad Thai (I had chicken) was so delicious cooked by the owner herself (native of Thailand) . Zero complaints here. Very well balanced sauce with the correct spiciness. I ordered 1 under from "Thai spicy" and did not have to add any extra spices. You can really tell the owners care about the quality of their food. Extra props to our waitress (also native of Thailand) that did a fabulous job. Briefly talked to owner on the way out as well. Great people work here. Very knowledgeable and friendly!
This place is awesome, the food is amazing and everything is fresh. Also the service 5 stars, very kind and helpful and don't forget about you or leaving you needing anything. Everyone we bring here loves it!
This place is by far the best thai place I've ever been too. Dan the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable of the food. The drunken noodles are the best and order it almost every time. The flavor is something very unique and hard to find anywhere else. I always love coming here and look forward to many more.
Delicious prawns and curry rolls!
Best Thai anywhere!
Everything tastes amazing. We have been coming here for years and never had anything bad. The service is great as well.
Very delicious and fresh! Great customer service friendly and fast!
It's dank.
As always the food was perfect
Everything is amazing here, including the service!
Best Thai in Sacramento area. Small place in a corner strip mall. Very authentic. Always a stop when in the area
More people need to be eating here! Super friendly staff and such good food. Everything is full of flavor and well balanced. Start with the curry rolls and end with the fried banana and ice cream!
Have had great luck with this place in the past, but went in tonight to get a couple of orders of shrimp pad Thai to go. I got it home and The food not even look appealing and when we went to eat it it tasted like greasy noodles and that's it. I am so disappointed. it was so awful we could not even eat it . There went $40 down the drain.
Delicious
Good curry
Nice place, authentic Thai cuisine
The service and food here are great. You can always customize your dish to some extent. I have always enjoyed coming here. I ate here once a week when I lived in Rocklin. And I always find a reason just to come back to eat.
Beautiful place dinner unexpectedly become a date :) live music make it very romantic, and food is taste, prices affordable!!!
Excellent food. Good menu choices. Terrific service and prices. I will go back soon and try more dishes.
I ordered food using DoorDash and both myself and my girlfriend got sick from the food. I have been here once before and it was very good, but the last time was horrible.
Allergy friendly!! Yummy!!
Absolutely the best Thai food around!! With a warm friendly ambiance.
This restaurant never disapoints! Great food, great service and good prices. Try the Panang Salmon and grab a local brew from Loomis Basin Brewery or Out of Bounds brewery.
Wana Lee is amazing. Actually, all the staff is friendly and welcoming. But Wana Lee is in a league that others don't play in. The food at Bangkok City is unlike any I have experienced elsewhere. I truly believe it to be impossible to order anything that is not only absolutely delectable, but beautifully presented as well.
This place was amazing. The food tastes so fresh. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Live music added to the relaxing atmosphere! Great place!!
