Easygoing Thai outlet spotlighting typical noodle dishes, curries & more in a comfy setting.
We recently moved to the area from Napa and found this gem while exploring food spots. The food looks appetizing; ingredients taste fresh; full of flavor. They provide a tray of red chilies prepared 3 ways & soy sauce for dine-in customers. They also put citrus fruits in their iced water. Smaller portions for what we’ve seen here so far, but similar compared to Napa. Great price point - had 2 appetizers, 2 lunches, 2 Thai iced coffees for only $70. If we added dessert and it would still be under $100.
I discovered this gem about a year ago. It has the most authentic tasting Thai food/Thai level of spice out of the majority of restaurants around Sacramento. They have exceptional customer service, and if you dine in, the one older female employee is extremely friendly and attentive. She brings out the small tray with different spice levels that add awesome flavor to the dishes. I'm positive it's a family run operation. Their fruit infused water is extremely refreshing, and nine time out of ten, they leave a gallon jug on my table. I highly recommend Sala Thai to all my family and friends.
My son in-love treated us to late lunch or early dinner. We wanted thai but, I was still eating clean so just wanted vegetable stir fry type of dishes for myself. I was still avoiding meat, seafood, rice and noodles.. I ordered an eggplant stirfry dish in a garlicky sauce and vegetable rolls. They ordered regular stuff sweet & sour chicken, honey walnut prawns, and some other beautiful dishes. I didn't enjoy my eggplant dish as much as I wanted to because it was chopped into huge pieces that were not marinated to the right softness or saturated consistency so some bites the texture was off putting because it wasn't coated and the sauce wasn't full of flavor either. I didn't want to complain because my son was treating us to a nice meal but, I definitely would have enjoyed diced eggplant over huge chunks and pieces for a more evenly balanced texture and taste throughout the dish... Their food looked great. I tasted some of the cooked veggies and garnishes from their plates and focused on my shared vegetable spring rolls or egg rolls. Yum!
Delicious as always! I have tried many dishes and liked all of them. My favorites are their Eggplant Lunch Dish with Chicken and their Fried Rice dishes.
Their prices are pretty good compared to the surrounding restaurants too.
I also like their Mango Sticky Rice and the Green Thai Tea 💯🔥
Great thai spot that we use to visit pre covid from our office. Not as frequent now but recently got to visit.
Food was awesome. They stopped the lunch salad :( that comes with lunch specials.
Customer service ok, love the ambiance.
We ordered drunken noodles, cashewnut chicken, and sticky rice with mango. Loved all of them.
Another visit today with my friends and liked the drunken noodles. Pineapple fried rice was a bit on the salty side.
Decided to visit for lunch after moving up the hill (hadn't been in years). This used to be one of my "go to" spots. The staff just didn't seem to want to be there - unpleasant, and it felt like being a customer was an inconvenience. The wait before placing an order was long but the time from order to table was actually really fast. The worst disappointment was that the food was tasteless. I literally thought maybe they left out ingredients - it was that bad. There was also no side salad or anything like other restaurants do for their lunches. Definitely a bummer. Much better flavorful thai food and customer experience in Folsom or Sac.
I went to this restaurant for lunch by myself and ordered Pad Thai. The food was good but it was a bit soggy for me. If they can reduce the sauce then it would be perfect. There was no wait since it's lunch and during weekday. The interior design is special which bring up some kind of vintage vibe. I haven't tried other food so I am not sure about them. But so far, would recommend if you come here for Pad Thai and, if possible, ask them to reduce the sauce a bit. I came from Southern California where there are more Asian foods so maybe that's why I have a bit higher expectation, but I think overall this restaurant is still very good.
Too much sugar/sweetness in the dishes.

Fast service! Excellent spot for a weekday lunch. Food delicious.

I ordered delivery from this restaurant. They cook for a very long time. I had to leave already. I do not recommend this restaurant. The staff is not friendly.
Great yellow curry chicken.
My favorite restaurant in Sacramento, not pricey and made Thai cuisine my favorite of all time

Very good food! Very accommodating for food allergies. Definitely will be coming back
This was a great little Thai spot with quick service. The setting was great, and the staff were on it the whole time we were there. Definitely, I will be a return customer.
Nice quiet place that my whole family enjoys. The yellow curry and pra ram are my favorites! The curry makes me want to lick my plate clean! The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Salad tasted great for such a hot day & service timely. Plenty of parking.
I made a purchase from this establishment. During my visit to collect my food, the host was preoccupied with texting on her phone and exhibited minimal communication. Despite politely requesting extra sweet and sour sauce, the response was perceived as impolite. Expressing gratitude with a "Thank You" yielded no response. Upon receiving my order, there was a lack of customary pleasantries such as "thank you," "come again," or "goodbye." These actions were interpreted as being discriminatory and racist. The host was an older lady who should not be working there. I see other reviews complaining about the same issue.
Brought my family here, and we had a wonderful dinner together. Great service. Thank you. We will be back!
Love this place. Haven't been for years and just recently went back a few times. The food is as delicious as I remember. My husband and I love the silver noodle salad and the Tom Yum soup (with both chicken and prawns).
I'm bummed to see this place only has an average of 4 stars. Each time I've gone, the food has been excellent. The place is often packed during lunch time. I eat at several Thai restaurants in Sacramento, Placer and Amador counties and this location is one of my favorites.
Delicious. Staff is friendly. Nice environment! Still my favorite place for Thai food.
I love Thai food and this restaurant tastes good. I will come back to eat again for sure!
The food is very good if you don’t mind eating Shrimp not clean! I don’t like seeing green poop in my shell fish
Probably the best Tom ka soup I've ever had. If you dine in, take a picture, it looks almost as good as it tastes.
Great food
We were staying at nearby hotel and ventured in on a whim. Food was especially good. I had the classic Yellow Curry and the better half had the Pumpkin Curry. Delicious and great service.
The Pad Thai chicken medium was great, but understand that medium is on the spicier side of medium. My mouth was on fire, but I couldn’t stop eating it.
Went here for lunch today. We had to wait for 45 minutes to be served. The food was decent, but I didn't really get a chance to truly enjoy it because I had to eat as fast as possible to get back to work.
We tried to get the staff's attention a couple times and were ignored. Overall, it was not a good experience.
I love Thai food and this definitely is my favorite place to eat. I’ve tried the Drunken noodles, Green curry twice and mixed veggies twice also. All fresh and delicious
Very good food. Basil fried rice was amazing. Pad Thai was a little sweet.
Good Thai in Tracy!
This is one of our favorite spots for Thai food. Especially now that the menu has been updated to add the noodle soups!!! We will definitely be devoted customers.
I got the green curry. It was good until I found a hair in it 🫤 hair is the one thing that i really struggle with unfortunately...then my friend also found a hair in her red curry 🤷🏻♀️🫤
Unfortunately, I cannot go back..
I will ask them to perhaps start wearing hair coverings...it truly will help ❤️
Wonderful meal, food was very good! From the green curry to the Tom yum, the Thai basil to the drunken noodles, it was all delicious and prepped for pick up super quickly. Really appreciated the call to let us know the food was ready too!
Worse Pad Thai dish I ever had. Then the host said that the bill was wrong and charged me more. I disputed the bill and she was very angry and turned into a dragon. I said that the food was not good and she wrapped into a coil and gave me dagger eyes.
My waitress was very nice. The food gave me diarrhea.
It felt like a college library, like you had to whisper; the atmosphere is nice.
Yellow curry was watery like soup, no spice, little flavor.
Chicken Pad Thai, meh. I've had better Pad Thai for sure. Overall, it's an okay place to grab food.
Pad Thai, entire dish tastes the same.
Flimsy fork, can’t eat with it. Have to ask for sauce, staff don’t offer anything.
Order was to go but the inside was nice.
Probably the worst Thai food I had. We order the Bangkok Chicken. It was a dry deep fried chicken with little taste. It did come with a teriyaki sauce and sweet and sour sauce on the side. Rice was not included. You need to order a side of rice separately, with additional charge!
The table was sticky, like they don't even bother to clean! Not worth the money!
Place says open but doors are locked. Came some one inside waved me away.
My go to standard dish at any Thai restaurant is Pra Ram Rong Song... which is generally prepared with a bed of vegetables ( my favorite restaurants make it with bok choy but I'm not sure that's the traditional way), a ball of white rice, seasoned meat or tofu ( I generally request pork), generously drenched with peanut sauce.
This is what I had today, and it really hit the spot. Service was fabulous.
I was very happy with the food, service, and my company across the table from me.
Excellent meals, repeat guest.
I've been here a while back and the food was really good. I would definitely visit again. Food quality is unbeatable. Changing my review from 4 stars to 5 stars.
В залі було брудно. Стіл був липкий. Серветка прилипла до столу. На підвіконні було брудно. На стільцях давно потрібно змінити оббивку, столи рухливі. Їжа була смачна, але ми більше не повернемося.
Very good beef and vegetable meal.
The food was delicious and the service was really good.
Very comfortable spot with friendly servers and delicious food. I look forward to eating there any chance I get :)
Pretty good thai good and reasonably priced.
best place to eat saturday night
Solid but unexceptional
Love their spring roll and everything on the manu.
I order here regularly. The food is great and the women that work the counter are so sweet and make sure to accommodate alterations for allergies.
This review is solely base on my taste and opinion only. I order the chicken pad Thai, beef larb, & fire chicken. I have had better tasting pad Thai. Not sure what sauce they use but it was just meh to me. As far as the larb - i taste a hint of sweetness. I have had better larb. The chicken was alright . It wasn’t over cook but the seasoning was ok. I’ll prob come back to try some of their curry .
Really good!
Food was plenty spicy and flavorful. An enjoyable experience.
My son ordered chicken satay a year ago and it was not cooked, my kids didnt know and ate raw chickens and got stomach upset... left a message for owner to call back but never got a returned call. Manager only replaced the order which i did not want.
Food was alright. Service was just not friendly.
I ordered a curry dish from this restaurant and had them deliver it to my room at my hotel and the food was not only terrible but when I received it I didn’t get a napkin, plastic ware or a plate to eat the food with? Good lord, how do you expect this to be an enjoyable experience? This is all I got plus the bag the food came in, definitely would not recommend anyone eat here.
Omg, such a wonderful experience! Came highly recommended by my homie Mary, so we went here tonite. Fantastic service, amazing food! The spring rolls were the freshest I have ever tasted. The pad Thai was also amazing, however... the green curry was the best I have ever had! The best balance of curry and coconut milk... absolutely divine, the eggplant was perfectly cooked, and even though I could use a little more bamboo shoots, I will NOT alter this recipe ever. The leftovers taunted me the whole way home... Our wonderful waitress New (hopefully spelled correctly) was the sweetest waitress ever, and treated us like old friends. She even boxed up our leftovers with a kindness that is so rare nowadays. And...! I left my sweater in the booth and she saw it immediately and ran out and made sure I didn't forget it. This place deserves to be packed every night.
All 4 meals were made to order and fresh, hot and tasty.
Sala Thai is 5 stars every time. We go probably 3 times a month. The Thai Rolls and Fried Won Tons will cause fist fights over the last one so i suggest ordering extra of each.
Tasty pad thai, amazing chicken satay and Thai tea, and great service!
Best Drunken Noodles. Quiet atmosphere which makes it easier to talk.
'22/10 Updated Review #4 (consistent with prior 3 reviews): Don't let the lackluster sit-down dining environment/seats put you off. There's many menu choices and good food that's, served up pretty quickly for lunch/dinner for decent prices. Single, authentic, caring waitstaff amply works the ~15 tables. Plenty of parking, and space for handicap.
[Review: #1 '18 Fall, #2 '19/12, #3 '20 Fall]
The drunken noodles were very good, just the right amount of spice and full of flavor. Service was alright, they got my wife's order wrong even though I clearly said tofu instead of chicken. It can get busy during lunch with all the surrounding offices so plan accordingly.
Great atmosphere and decor, but the taste is lacking. The authenticity of the flavor has been washed down to suit the area it serves, so if you want a more authentic taste, go to the South area.
Stopped for dine in
One of my best places to go eat!!!
Great Thai food!!!! Loved it!!
Hostess very attentive. I ordered Tom Yum soup which was just too sweet. Thai fried rice was okay. Spice level medium. Restaurant clean. My sister's food look delicious. Will need to eat here again to raise rating, but probably won't.
We love this place the curry is amazing.
This place is really good! First timer here and the food is muuuuuy delicioso!🤌 I highly recommend the green curry and for desert, (which is seasonal so you have to ask them what’s in at the moment) but anyways, I got sweet mango sticky rice!!! It’s really good chef’s kiss 5/5 starts. Also the restaurant’s design is stunning too. It’s like Ive been really transported to Thailand😎
small portions and expensive
Food was excellent!!
Horrible serve. This used to be the best this restaurant. The new staff are very unwelcoming. Nobody attended to us and we were the only ones seating , not even water was offered. We kept calling but nobody answered us, so we got up and left after 20 mins of waiting.
Food was fantastic!!
Delicious food!
Food was well prepared and tasty. Portions were very good size as well. Decently priced, and did not have to wait long for my food.
Ordered pad thai with fried tofu. It tasted old and had 0 flavor and no spice. The noodles tasted old, like they microwaved left over and dumped it on my plate. I used to really enjoy their food and service but the quality was so bad this time I don't think I'll be going back.
Good food. Good people. Good service.
Ordinary. Watery peneng curry.
Food too salty...chicken looks years old...really sweet server but ewwww..don't go hungry...visually unappetizing food.
Sala Thai has an almost smoky romantic ambiance that you would like to reveal to someone worthy of a second date. You know, someone you want to learn more about after that special wild night out. With dimmed lighting that makes each table a private affair. And with a menu that is as authentic, while at the same time easily tamed-just request it mild if need be. If you like it spicy they do this, and mild-they do that. Service and care with dishes that carry flavor long into the evening or the burn till the morning, if that is how you like it. Amy is God Sent and Her Staff Will Make You Feel As If You Are On Vacation.
Went there with some friends, ordered 5 dishes to share. As one user mentioned, they do need some dusting. Most of the food was good except the drunken noodle needed more sauce and the Pad Thai was UNEDIBLE. Pad Thai is typically made with 1/4" wide flat rice noodles and sauce with just a hint of red. The noodles we received were like ramen noodles and they were VERY red. They were all sticky clumped together like if you cook ramen at home and let it set and get cold and the noodles are all clumped together. Pretty sad that Noodles & Co makes a more authentic Pad Thai. I also ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup to go, it was sweeter than it should be but still not too bad. Everything else was good such as the curry and the bangkok chicken. For reference, I have been enjoying Thai food for over 25 years, so I know the level of acceptable fluctuation in flavor and quality of certain Thai dishes. UPDATE: had ordered a glass noodle salad to go, put it in the fridge for dinner the next evening. I had half of it for dinner, it was absolutely delicious, BUT it made me throw up within the hour. The only other thing I had eaten that day was a can of chicken noodle soup at 11am, so it had to have been caused by the noodles. I smelled the rest of the noodles and it did smell weird, but I'm not sure if that's just how the sauce smells. NOT cool though. 1) quit using sticky ramen-type of noodles in Thai dishes and 2) DON'T MAKE PEOPLE SICK. That is all.........
Americanised Thai. Mustard ribs...yuck.
Chicken like from cracked barrel...dry.
Watered down coconut curry
chicken diah. curry
The food was fantastic!
The best Thai place I have tried in the area.
This Sala Thai restaurant has nice friendly and attentive personnel. It is roomy with old Thai decorations. It needs tidying up with dust removed from open services including overhead piping and the restrooms tidier.
The food was pretty good. We were delighted to learn that fresh whole fish is served at Sala Thai.
I plan to return and would gladly recommend Sala Thai to friends and acquaintances. 4/5 Stars
Curry was more like soup. No spice request wasn't honored. Drunken Noodles are thin, the whole dish is unimpressive. Thai iced tea was bitter but also over sweetened to try and hide the bitterness.
I have eatin at one of there restaurants for the past 11 years, one in Rancho and there used to be one in Natomas, Awesome food. Great service. Always a smile. 🙂
This is the 4th time I've eaten here. First 3 times I ordered lunch to go while at work. Food was okay but convenient and reasonably priced.
Today we went in for lunch for my daughter's birthday and she wanted to eat thai food.
We walked in and the girl/server said to seat yourself. Then she said grab some menus from the counter so we did.
We ordered 5 items. Pad thai, drunken noodles, spicy fried rice, eggplant, and bamboo something.
Bill arrived a few minutes after food arrived.
Pad thai was too sweet. Makes no sense. The fried rice and eggplant was salty. We asked for to go boxes and server dropped it off and walked away. Server never even asked how the food was or checked in on us or refilled our water.
After we packed our food and signed the bill we walked out with no server in sight.
I will never go back again.
If I could rate a restaurant 0 stars, I would for this one. The middle-aged waitress was incredibly rude to my father when answering his questions about their menu. Also my mother ordered the Pad Thai but it smelled rotten and seemed like sugar was dumped on it. Easily the worst restaurant I've ever been to.
My favorite Thai place. I drive 30 minutes for dinner here.
Food is really good!
Best thai resturant in town!
At a time of trying to return to something normal and welcome customers back into your restaurant, I sad to say that I felt unappreciated, my drink and food both came in a to go container, this upset me, I want a plate and regular glass please...........
friend bought me lunch from there some kind of soup ..
R.I.P to my colon as i eat this greasy cinnamon soup
all i taste is grease and cinnamon
i spilled some on the floor because there takeout soup is filled to the top then they give you noddles on the side so if you want noddles added to hopefully change the weird tasted you end up spilling slippery oil soup
Extremely disappointed ripped off. I spent over 70 dollars and my family could only eat the rice a noodles which are the same as top Roman. All of the meat including the meat in the rice was extremely dry and overcooked. The meat was so tough that we could not even chew it up enough to swallow it. All had to be thrown in the trash!! Total wast of money! Basically they are steeling people’s money and selling non edible disgusting food!
don't be deceived the google pics look nothing like the actual place. And I have recently heard from others in Rancho Cordova that the place has had a rat problems!
When you order to-go... please check for all the items. This place puts all the to-go items in a bag and ties them up so you need to take everything out to check for all that was ordered. During these times, it’s already anxiety to have to leave your home or office to get food for yourself or other that you don’t want to go back to get any missing items.
Fortunately, my meal was fine but my co-worker’s meal was incomplete. A lady tried to offer the side that was missing if we came back but no one wants to be out in public again or leave the office again. She offered to put our name on a list to be compensated for $2 dollars when we came back but that was ridiculous. As a patron, for more than 3 years, $2 is poor compensation for the INTERRUPTION in our take-out experience.
Lastly, I called to talk to a manager and she said I would be contacted. Five hours later and still no follow-thru.
Great food and price.
My son and I went for lunch the food was delicious also good service
First time visit. Had a work lunch there. Pad Thai was good. Food took a while but everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Will definitely go back.
Not a bad place.
Atmosphere is nice, but the menus will stick to your hands.
Food was delicious, potstickers had an awesome gingery-soy sauce packed with a flavor punch.
Wife had the chow mein which she described as "good but the noodles felt more like ramen noodles. But good flavor."
The drunken noodles (see picture) was tasty and a generous helping.
Most items on the lunch menu is under $10 and the portion size is quite adequate for lunch. The quality of food is very good with right amount of heat and spice for Thai Drunky noodles. Nice ambient and service on a good location. 4.5 out of 5 star.
Good Thai food at a good price.
Amazing flavorful Thai food. I thoroughly enjoyed the Papaya Salad that had some heat and the Green Curry with Tofu so fragrant and creamy with the Thai basil and coconut milk.
Friendly staff
Great portion sizes and good prices.
Good food. Good service. Enjoyed this place a lot, but to be honest I'm not a Thai food aficionado, so take my review with a grain of salt. I loved it though.
Loved it
Excellent food for a very reasonable price! We ordered several dishes family style so we were able to try a variety. All delicious and really friendly staff.
The food is pretty tasty, but it's not a good value. I ordered the panang curry witu prawns which was 13 or $14.. they brought me a very tasty Curry, but unfortunately there's only seven tiny shrimp in there the size of my pinky curled up... not large prawns as pictured.. I also ordered the fresh rolls, and they did not taste very fresh. It tasted like they were pre-made because the rice rapper was already getting tough.
I would probably give this place another try, but I would order pad thai or something that's more traditional
The mango sticky rice was really good💕... just needed a little bit more coconut sauce
