Located in the heart of Mission Hills, CA,
Spice Up Thai offers authentic Thai food dining experience with every dish crafted with meticulous attention to authenticity and taste. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere for you to enjoy.
The soup was really tasty especially with the fish sauce they have, my son loved their chow mein very flavorful and I loved my pad see ew it was perfect over all the place was really clean the service was great the guy their was very attentive and friendly will definitely stop by again
For the cost of the food for take out and the additional charges 3+$ for anything extra: chicken
, meat, veggies, shrimp, rice, tofu, “salad”…. you would think it would have been great. I paid additional for mixed veggies and received extra onion strips …
I asked for a side salad and received 1 big piece of lettuce with 3 carrots and 2 pieces of cucumber.
Paid extra for a fried egg and rice, the egg was delicious , the rice was enough for 1 person but if you are getting for more than 1 person you’re going to pay a lot more than you think you would.
The soup wasn’t even that flavored, I’m disappointed. .
This is such a good, hole-in-the-wall Thai spot! My partner loved his Kung Pao Chicken with Fried Rice and my Pad Thai was actually one of the best I've had. Plus with the good portions and the lunch special, it was a great deal! The staff was really nice, our waiter noticed that I chose tofu as my protein and he let me know that the soup had a meat base in case I was vegetarian, which was very thoughtful. I give the food, the price, and the service all 5 stars - we'll be back to try more dishes!
Nice crispy orange chicken that you can actually taste the citrus of the orange but still slightly sweet 😋 Came with a side of rice.
The Mongolian beef was also savory, good amount of veggies and meat. Though if u prefer more meat this won't have enough for you.
They have regular and chicken egg rolls same size for both.
Boba thai tea was good and not too sweet like other places. Great place to go 💫
Love this place! Go there with my co-workers all the time for lunch. Great dishes prepared well, very friendly service, and a relaxed casual atmosphere. Do recommend for a quick lunch. The spicy sauces are done right, too. The vinegar/Thai chili pepper one will kick your butt. Try their lunch specials!
Has your standard Thai offerings (pad Thai, panang curry, prik king). What really elevates this humble spot in a strip mall is their tom kha soup, which is definitely one of the best versions I've had.
Great prices and food is BOMB!!!

Excellent Thai food
I love this place. If you like Thai food, this is Authentic and EPIC. The Spicy noodle is to die for. The Tom yum and Tom kha soup are AMAZING, and my personal favorite is the Pad see ew (with beef but chicken rocks too!) The service is always friendly and the food is always fresh. Stop by, get some great food and don't forget the Thai tea!
I drove out of the way here and they are closed at this moment despite their online hours posted on Google
Your typical mom and pop shop, So nothing fancy. Food is tasty, but the portions are small. If you want a lot, the soups come larger portioned. Good for take out.
The food is so yummy, it was great trying out this new place & Jayne (Jane?) was amazing she was so sweet and friendly when I came in to order, very accommodating and even brought me water while I waited. It’s so refreshing to go somewhere to order & you’re greeted so kindly with a very positive sweet attitude. Thank you Jayne!
The owners are very welcoming! The restaurant is very clean!!! And the food is very authentic which is what I look for personally. Me and my family have been eating at Spice up thai since their previous location.
P.s. they only serve mango sticky rice seasonally, says a lot!
Definitely recommend!!!
This place is exceptional. My brother has not eaten for about 5 days and started to get an appetite, so this was one of his first meals. He and we all loved to food. Service was quick, polit, and professional. I recommend this place highly.
Our usual Thai place was full so we decided to come here. So glad we did!! The food is amazing!!! So many options and so much flavor. Options for everyone. I personally got the yellow curry with tofu and it was a 11/10. It seems like everything is freshly made and according to the people I dined with, even the seafood tasted fresh. The service was excellent and our waiters were very attentive and amicable. Highly recommend to anyone who's in the valley. The only downside is that if you dine in during a hot day, it seems they don't turn on the AC full blast or just use fans so maybe consider take out over dine in. Otherwise, try it!!
Best Thai food in the Valley
Yellow curry and spicy noodles were a 10/10 and the staff is incredibly friendly! Portions are huge!
Everything was made fresh and so so good. One of my fav Thai spots
Update since this is no longer Jenny's Thai.
I still had a pretty good experience, they took my order the same, though the food and service is not the same. Wherever Jenny is I hope she is happy! She was the best.
I will try eating here again, but a little suspicious they kept the same phone number and even reviews.
For Jenny's Thai:
LOVE IT! The lady who runs the restaurant (still not sure if this is Jenny) is the nicest. I have become a regular, ordering once every couple of weeks and they have never once dissapointed, and with multiple specialized orders.
Well priced, good sized portions.
Pad Thai amazing, Yellow Curry AMAZING, Pad see eww excellent, Thai tea oh YES etc etc.
Highly recommended!
Great food, but every time I call it’s a 30 minute wait and I end up waiting a extra 5 when theirs only 2 other customers here. Service is just fine. If u got the time its worth the wait
Great looking new location with parking! Still the best Thai food in the Valley
The orange chicken tastes like heaven. It’s Crispy . not overwhelmingly sweet or sour. It’s just perfect. No after taste as well. I’d come back for that. I had drunken noodles medium level and it was a bit more than medium but I enjoyed it.
Excellent!
This place has really good Thai noodles and soup.
Girl on the counter is more in to heh phone than her job. As I speak, she's in her phone!!! Wow! Service is a thing here in the U.S.A.
Everything else is good here
Anyone know why they closed? Are they going to open somewhere else?
Nice crispy orange chicken that you can actually taste the citrus of the orange but still slightly sweet 😋 Came with a side of rice.

Boba thai tea was good and not too sweet like other places. Great place to go 💫
They are never open. Every time I try to go there for lunch after 12 noon they are not open.
Great food! Loved the green Curry I got the other day. Also loved the combo fried rice. I recommend getting the wontons with plum sauce
Very sorry to see this place gone. I am not from the area and loved coming here when I visit my local friends.
This place had great food but has permanently closed and is being replaced with a Mexican restaurant
Jenny is the best! She humbly prepares delicious food. Her vegetable fried rice is the best! After trying many places, she delivers the most abundant helping of vegetables in her fried rice. As of June of 2022, their service is takeout only.
My favorite Thai Restaurant since 2005. Every plate is freshly prepared. The flavor is incomparable. The amount of ingredients in each plate is perfectly balanced.
My favorite place. I love the food and the service is excellent. My boyfriend and I are regulars here. I would definitely recommend.
One of the best places in the valley to eat. Simple and plain. The food is amazing and the quality of their customer service is top-notch, very friendly people. They are very good with the pricing and they serve generous amounts of quality food with every order. I like their Pad See Ew & Tom Kha the best. They deserve more recognition
Excellent food...
A wonderful four course meal offered by great chefs. The staff is the real gem here ensuring an absolutely great experience from start to finish.
Me & my boyfriend been customers here for the past 6 years but apparently as of today we’re banned only because we didn’t pick up our food 1 time due to us being involved in a car crash. it was an emergency & they didn’t even give us the chance to explain ourselves, 6 years ! We’ve been coming here & because of this 1 time of us not being able to pick up our food we’ve been banned & if we did order the cook only agreeed if we payed an extra $60 on top of a $65 dollar order. Can u believe that ?!? $125 for some chow Meiji , rice , & orange chicken . They should be ashamed of themselves.
Good food & Reasonable prices.
The Pad See Ewe was very flavorful but didn't have chinese broccoli (they used regular broccoli instead). The Chicken Satay was nice and peanut dipping sauce was 🔥
Recommend and will visit again
Food was delicious and they were very friendly and accommodating!
Food was awesome. Shrimp Pad Thai was great. Not dried out like others.
Great food for good prices and the owners are friendly. It's way better than Rincome down the street so definitely come here instead. 💯
This is such a good, hole-in-the-wall Thai spot! My partner loved his Kung Pao Chicken with Fried Rice and my Pad Thai was actually one of the best I've had. Good people ,the food is fantastic. Large portions.
Good food, good prices, a little warm when you dine in, though.
Absolutely Delicious, and very flavorful cuisine. One of my favorites is the Wonton Soup to start
Best Authentic Thai restaurant in Granada Hills. Support local restaurants such as this since there will be a time where thai food will be like the east coast and be bland with no spice.
Food was delicious and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the order. Thank you
Always good food and good service, nice and clean, take out only at this time, so phone order.
Satay chicken, papaya salad, and sticky rice were really good. You can dine in. Great customer service. Love it
We ordered delivery for the second time. The food was fantastic again!! I've tried many different Thai restaurants in the last year since we moved to Northridge and so glad we found this spot in Granada Hills!! The flavor is on point!! So many other places are hit and miss!! Everything we ordered is excellent! Beef spicy noodles (aka drunken noodles), shrimp pad woon sen, shrimp & tofu green curry extra eggplant, tom kha seafood soup & shrimp pad see ew. Shrimp, fish and excetera were all fresh!! Next time we will dine in!! This will be our to go place for Thai!! The guy that took our order was nice! Delivery was fast and on time for a large order! Give them a try... you won't be disappointed!!
Best pad Thai I've found in the valley hands down. highly recommend!
I walked in around noon. They were open but no one ever showed up. I was inside and no one was there.
The tom kha soup and spicy noodles were both amazing! I loved my panang as well! Great $9 lunch special.
Food was great and the customer service is the best I have experienced in a long time. The online system got one of my orders wrong. When I called to let them know, they did not hesitate to make things wright. Thank you for the amazing food and service.👍👍🙏🙏
Good food
Great tasty place!! Wish the portions are larger than right now.
Got the Drunken Noodles with chicken, super delicious! A bounty of veggies, great tasting noodles, nice basil bits, and quality chicken. 10/10 would recommend
Amazing customer service. Amazing food you are going to enjoy the food.
Great food at decent prices. Took a chance on this local Thai eatery and was not disappointed. Favorites include the Tom Yoon Goung soup, Red Curry, and Mongolian beef. Parking around the spot is a little cramped but ample parking on the street and in shopping complex across the street.
Great food, great service and the place is clean. My nephew loves the steamed dumplings and the chicken fried rice is to die for!
Exceptional service. A lot of great things on the menu, but where this place really shines is the noodles 👍
Good food.
Great flavor.... that's the most important part of a restaurant
Very good Thai food. I like their spicy beef noodles. The service is very polite and helpful and the food is always fresh and prepared on the spot. I recommend to all Asian food lovers.
Good food. Very nice owner!
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Not satisfied at all...portions were minimal for the price and taste did not surprise me.... will definitely not go back!!!
THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!!! THEY WERE VERY NICE
Were to start. The food was tasteless and the service bad . Even when ordering for take out they said wait was 20 min and they took 40 . There was 2 customers who came after me and they got there food first . While i was still waiting . Dont recomend it . Curry was bitter and taste less . Friend rice was more like white rice. Its up to you if ud like to waste your money here.
Delicious
Nothing else to say. 5 stars. Best thai food I've had in a long. long. long. time. Beats Lumkanaad outta the park. Had the spicy noodles, tom kha kai, and beef salad. Perfect heat and acidity. Gotta say it again. 5 stars
Very friendly, delicious coconut soup
Enjoyed the small bowl of Seafood Tom Kha Kai Soup & it was delicious!
Expressed curiosity regarding fresh spring rolls but none happening here.
Perhaps if more customers requested them it might become an item?
Until then it's all deep fried.
Prices so good that it's easy to get TIPsy and pay the love forward. Atmosphere chill, service was inviting, prompt, and genuine.
Love their food and customer service 👍🤗💯
Best Thai food I’ve ever had, I highly recommend the sea food soup and the orange chicken, they are simply amazing. The portions are very good for the price! A bargain!
Great place, great selection, great price, amazing service. The best Thai food place in the valley! Highly recommend it.
Muy bueno y la comida sabrosa.
Great food and reasonable prices!
The best Thai food in the valley, hands down. Yellow curry, chickem pad thai, and coconut soup are my go-to's every time.
The food is really good !! you have to try it...
Authentic Thai food with reasonable prices
Delicious authentic Thai food made with love! Great food, friendly staff, family owned - what more do you need to know?
Papaya salad is always good here.
the food was very tasty however I asked for a 10 level for my spicy beef salad and honestly the spice level was probably no more than a two. The fried wontons had literally the thinnest slice of chicken to the point where I can almost see through the chicken but they were still tasty.the restaurant was able to bring back Justice with the delicious eggplant that was actually spicy, tasty, full of different flavors. I highly recommend getting that dish.
Love this place. The food is always excellent, and the service is always top notch
Was very good, and tasty food, excellent service.
I super enjoyed coming here with my boyfriend. He was looking for a new Thai place to try and this place was amazing. Will be coming back.
Great delicious pad Thai at a fine establishment! Jenny is very welcoming and makes you feel at home.
Always good.
Love this place, my wife and I have been going here for several years now.
TERRIBLE!
I got the Pad See Ew with Beef and Shrimp
My Gawd! Worst Pad See Ew I've had IN MY LIFE!
Everything tasted old..
The noodles were dry and flavorless.. the beef was dry and chewy.. the 3 shrimp I paid an extra $2 for must have been old.. because it was Extra Fishy
I just had Really good Pad 2 nights before, so I was excited to try it at another place... Boy do I regret that.
I also got the "Dynamite" Chicken Wings
There was surely nothing "Dynamite" about them!
They taste like Yoshinoya's chicken wings, just as small, yet in a more watery spicier sauce.
All around Epic Fail!
This just goes to show You Can't Trust People's Reviews
I could have went to at least 2 other nearby Thai places.. where I'm sure things couldn't have been any worse..
But this one had the highest rating.
(face palm)
Not to mention, I asked for chopsticks from the boy at the register, his reply was "I put two forks in the bag".. .
Forks and Chopsticks are Apparently the Same Thing Everybody! You learn something new everyday!
Also the ambiance is more that of a Pizza Parlor than what the pics would lead you to believe, not that it's a bad thing.
I gave it a 1 in hopes to even out this stupidly high score of theirs, it was really more of a 2. It didn't appear dirty, in the front at least, and the order was done quickly.
Largely cuz no one was there...
$23 down the drain
I won't be back
Love their food!!!! Never dissapointed
My family and I have been going to Jenny's Thai. It's a small restaurant but Jenny the owner is really nice to her customers. I support small family business owners like this restaurant. The servings are big and food is always good. We always order for pick up.
Delicious, fresh and authentic food at a great price, fast service, this place is a real gem!
Great food
I simply LOVE this place. Food is delicious, the workers are lovely, and it is cheap cheap cheap! Not the quality, the price! This little hole in the wall is a GEM in our town.
Lunch specials are very cheap and have a variety of selections to choose from. My personal favorite is yellow curry. I also love their coconut soup.
If mango and sticky rice is in season, DEFINITELY get it. It is a delicious and refreshing dessert that you wont regret.
The interior of the restaurant is cute, it seems like every time I go in there they have some new art to hang on the wall. Its typically quiet and peaceful inside the restaurant.
Definitely try, Spice Up Thai!
I have been coming here for a while now due to it being the nearest thai food. Honestly, have enjoyed the food every time. Its never so busy that I can't get a seat which is always a treat, I've always hated to wait for food but that's never the case with this place. I order the usual; yellow curry chicken and steamed rice, sour and spicy soup and pad see yu noodles in beef, tastes SO GOOD! Never gets old. The place is always clean, the docorations are nothing to rave about but that's okay cause it's about the food and the hospitality anyway. The prices are not too bad in comparison to other places I've been. This place has become our little spot. I hope this place continues to be in business for many years to come, it really is underrated.
The customer service at this restaurant is very poor. I tried calling over the phone and no answer.
I love going to a place called Jenny's and finding out Jenny is actually cooking the stuff back there! That alone deserves a little attention. But the food would still stand well by itself if that cool bit never existed. I'm here once a month minimum. Spicy Beef Salad, ANY noodles, and egg noodle seafood soup. Make sure you visit, ordering on the phone isn't the best way to get this food :)
Great Thai food in this part of the valley.
Really good food, my uncle took me here by surprise and normally I do not like Thai food
Jenny's Thai Resturant is absolutely amazing! The eatery is clean, well decorated, spacious, and comfortable. Jenny, along with her husband, not only prepare amazing cuisine that can satisfy your appetite day after day, but they offer genuine warmhearted hospitality every time and It's honestly what makes this restaurant a staple in the community.
Good spicy noodles and BBQ pork. The seafood soup was good too. Really thick noodles.
Delicious and fresh food!
Great food!!! Most authentic I've had outside of Thailand.
Excellent food at good price
Absolutely delicious. Had the crab Rangoon and orange chicken. Great price and great quality. Will definitely be back
Love eating here , the orange chicken dinner combo is my addiction. I can’t seem to try anything else.
After one visit, this is now my favorite Thai place. I had Spicy Chicken Noodle dish. The noodles were fresh, thick and spicy. The chicken was was fresh, soft and moist (not hard like others). Looking forward to my second visit!
Great food great service. The food is the best and the prices are reason.
Amazing, authentic, and delicious! Spice Up Thai Eatery is a hidden little gem with wonderful, flavorful, and spicy food. If it's not spicy enough on its own they also have a tabletop wheel of spices to choose from to add that little extra zing! The owner was very kind and attentive. We had the crab Rangoon, Thai Basil Shrimp, Kung Pao Chicken, and Pad Thai shared among 3 people and it was more than enough food with lunch tomorrow as well! Highly recommend the Basil Shrimp and the Pad Thai, but all of the food was Amazing!
The food is delicious, but the restaurant smells so bad.
My go to place for quick, easy & yummy Thai food.
