Food: All their curry dishes were very tasty. You can customize level of spiciness when you order. Green curry was very creamy and was seasoned perfectly. Pad Thai was excellent.

Service: Our server were very nice. They accomodated requests regarding one of our dishes.

Ambiance: It is a small canteen. It doesn't have a date night feel. Very few decorations. They accept only cash and debit. No credit cards. Pay upon ordering.

Value: Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. About $10 per person for a dish with rice.

Most important the food had no flavor so please Just save your money go to a real Thai place. I have no words just the worst experience ever. Four years ago it was the best place ever but now everything was served in small take out containers waitress claimed COVID procedures yet real silverware was used which is not a COVID procedure. I will definitely not be spending another dime here. Also random fact credit cards are no longer accepted. I hate to complain about a small business like this but it’s ridiculous. I asked for an order of orange chicken and got a slice of chicken breast with lots of lettuce and some orange sauce on top. Just save your money go someplace else have a good meal cause you won’t have it here. Another thing the restroom is dark, dingy, and very hot. That should have been my first red flag but I didn’t want to judge a restaurant by its cover but just look at the top of the sauce.

Service was great OMG the prices are amazing so yes a big tip indeed ❤️😁 now the atmosphere as far as outside the restaurant spooky scary even if it's across the street from the rampart Police station . Try to park as close as you can to hear your alarm if anything. Just go with protection and keep it on you if you can.

We ordered the pad see ew, pad thai, and thai tea around 7pm and they made it promptly. I haven't seen the place busy yet so it was a quiet atmosphere as we waited for our food. The pad see ew wasn't very good. There was not enough sauce so it was dry without much taste. It also did not have many noodles. There were more bean sprouts with noodles. I had no complaints about the pad thai though. It was good, flavorful, and plentiful. Their thai tea is also very good. It tastes fresh and full. It doesn't taste watered down. All in all, their menu also has a good portion to price and Thai Food Express is a good option.

Great staff. Food is as good as to be expected. Not great, not bad at all. Lots of stuff not on the menu. Ask away if you want something specific.

I am very disappointed with this place. I ordered shrimp and beef fried rice.
I got a couple of shrimps and just very few pieces of beef, I mean very few.
The rest of my order was only rice, 90% rice. What a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I am definitely not coming back.

First the good:
The red curry was very delicious. I got a lunch special which came with rice, an egg roll, and vegetable soup. All for $12.

I told the very nice lady I wanted tofu and she made sure the whole meal was vegetarian.

The not good:
They have signs & pictures stating how they aren’t using single use plastics and seem to promote sustainability, yet when my food arrived everything was in plastic to go containers (for a specifically “dine in” order).
I hope they switch to reusable.
The other thing, the vegetable soup was very bland and mostly salty. Just skip.

The main food is super tasty and they are friendly, and it’s affordable, so I would go back.

Picked up from here for lunch. Food was tasty and well packaged.

This place is awesome!! It is one of those "hole in the wall" spots but the flavors are delicious, it's affordable, and they have good customer service. The front is run by an older woman and I think her son is the one helping. Both are very nice. Sometimes parking is a little busy but I still recommend it.

Got the cashew nut chicken and it was flavorless. Low quality chicken.
They only take cash or debit and REFUSE to give a refund.
Took 2 bites and gave the rest to a homeless dude outside.
Only upside is the large drinks. But man, this place is horrible. Worst tasting food by a mile. How tf does this have 4.5 stars? I have NO CLUE. Yall have no taste buds and eating with your wallets (the place is cheap)

I really love this spot they have really good fired rice and chow mein but I recently with with my lil brother to get lunch he order beef & broccoli, and I ordered the Mongolian beef we had 2 different dishes but ran into the same problem my brother had more broccoli than beef and I got way more onions and peppers than beef at the end of the day I really do like thai food Express but those portions for the price isn't working for me I'll just stick with my beef or chicken fried rice for now.

I've been coming here for years.I like everything I've eaten so far.I have no complaints at all.The cashier n server is a very nice lady.

Tried the chicken pad thai - was so bland and flavorless. $12 for this lunch for this neighborhood is too pricy for what I got and this is too expensive for this neighborhood . The guy at counter didn’t want me taking extra napkins , either.

Can't get enough of this place. We have been going there for years and it never disappoints. The vegetarian spicy fried rice with a 4 of spice is all I need! My husband and son love the crab fried rice. They say that it's the best rice ever! Our daughter always compares their chowmein to every other place she goes, and she continues to only like Thai Food Express'.

I requested non-spicy, mild chicken pad thai and when I brought it home - it nearly burnt my eyebrows off. They offered me a free replacement next time I'm in. Bummer - but good customer service.

I went because I saw the reviews. It's as good as they say. I order from the special menu it's affordable and comes with many items. The food is well made and delicious. Highly recommend.

This is my favorite childhood restaurant. Chicken Sate is amazing, and so is the shrimp fried rice. Always friendly staff and great service. A big gem in the menu is the coconut ice cream they serve! It's quite amazing. I would recommend this place to everyone!

This is hard to believe but I’ve been eating here for 18 years! Have done numerous birthdays, going away’s, welcome home’s; just so many group dinners with friends and it’s always amazing.
Without a doubt still my favorite Thai food in LA. It’s northern Thai so there’s also some Chinese dishes on the menu.
Super accommodating for vegans. They have mock chicken too, just ask as it’s not on the menu. The soups- both Tom Yum and Tom Kha- are the best versions I’ve ever had. And the people who run it are so incredibly nice. Prices are very reasonable and they’ll even do extra noodles- $1 or $2 worth.

You can’t get any better than this! I’ve been going to this restaurant ever since I was a little kid. Hell, even before my little brother was born! The times we’ve eaten here had been the best times of my life! The atmosphere, the food, the staff and everything in between makes for a lovely place to spend your money on! However ever since the pandemic had started we haven’t had the chance to sit-in and enjoy the food inside the restaurant itself. That doesn’t change the fact you can order take-out though! In a way you take a part of the restaurant itself with you home!

The prices are fantastic for what you get, not to mention the amounts of flavor you’ll be receiving will be worth it. I’m especially fond of the seven sea soup that comes with a good portion size of white rice on the side. But if you’re looking for an even more of a delightful experience then I would suggest you order a plate of shrimp fried rice. You heard right, a plate! The portion sizes are really acceptable for the price you’ll be paying. Especially when buying yourself a nice refreshing Thai ice tea! The perfect drink to wash down a perfect meal!

Horrible this worse Chinese food i have had... I had to throw away the entire plate of food... I would bring it back but im currently sick... do not buy without opening and trying the food first so u can take back

I thoroughly enjoyed my food from here. The lady at the front (Guessing she was 1 of the owner) was so friendly and patient! Its always encouraging to support businesses where the people are kind as well as great food. Will be coming back for sure 🙂

Picked up favorite order from this place Panasonic, pad Thai. I have had it many times and it was delicious.nothing close to flavor as before. I wasted slot of money on food I tossed out. My first thought was this place must be under new management. It is reallt bad. I ste this food for 12 years as an employee of Good Samaritan hospital a few blocks away. I had in the past recommended this place to many friends and family. I told them beware it is not good food.
Example in my chicken pa bash it has a broth with red papper in it the red pepper had spots of black mold. That did it for me they try to get ridd of food beginning to go bad in takeout orders
Good luck if you try it but be careful and check each bite.

WASTE OF MONEY. THANKS FOR SOUP THAT TASTE LIKE SOAP AND NO HELP. FOOD MADE MY STOMACH HURT. Spent money to Uber to this place and back to my hotel only to open my glass noodle soup and for it to smell like and taste like perfume. I called and asked for a refund and was told I could not be helped. First place I stopped at my first time in LA. Thanks for the terrible customer service and terrible food that I can’t even eat.
Oh and $10 for “orange chicken” which is a few pieces of chicken and a little bit of lettuce. Don’t waste your money.
