We happened by chance at this place and I’m glad that we tried it. We ordered the Jade Curry with tofu, herbal wings and some brown and jasmine rice. The food arrived very quickly. Everything was really delicious, even the brown rice was nice and fluffy. The servings are on the small side though.
My family and I live near by and have tried this place over the years. Their dishes have improved a lot and are really yummy if you’re looking for some quick Thai food. We like their crab fried rice, BKK iced tea and especially the seasonal mango sticky rice
Okay, so what I love about “hidden gems” is that they get to retain all of their wow, without the rush of a crowd. I stopped by BK101 on a short (and secretive) stop through LA to take care of home matters. What I didn’t expect is to be swept off my feet with delicious food, warm hospitality and an experience of peaceful bliss while stuffing my face! 🤩
I began with the BANGKOK ROLL - an absolutely mesmerizing blend of mixed greens, cucumber, fresh basil, angel hair pasta and carrot wrapped in rice paper with sweet and sour sauce and mustard sauce. I bit into the first roll and it was like meeting Love. I was enamored with the quality of ingredients, the way the flavors complimented and elevated one another, the lightness of the meal, even with its robust, hearty taste. The only reason I didn’t order a second helping is because I really wanted to try something else on the menu.
After having to pieces of the Bangkok Roll, I decided I was going to save the Tiger pieces for later and make a treat of it - that didn’t happen, I devoured the others. I ordered the SOM TUM (PAPAYA SALAD) next…if the Bangkok Rolls had me in love, the Som Tum was the proposal to this establishment and all else it had to offer. The way the flavors threw a party in my mouth created a celebration that literally had me dancing in my seat. The ingredient were so fresh, so well curated; the grilled jumbo shrimp were something out of my greatest culinary fantasy and was supremely pleasing with the green papaya, carrot, green beans, fish sauce, tomato’s, tamarind juice (my favorite), and a selection of other ingredients that sent me floating. I washed it all down with a GINGER ICED TEA and was ready for a nap on the beach.
And as if that wasn’t enough, I certainly could not leave without having dessert; and what better dessert to indulge in than MANGO STICKY RICE. Now this…this was eternal! The mango alone was insanely fresh and juicy and foodgasmi. Paired with the profoundly delicious sticky rice and coconut cream, I was so full that I ended up taking half of the dessert home and finishing it before bed. What an experience!
To make a long review short: I. LOVED. THIS. PLACE!!! I can’t wait to schedule my next trip so I can go back and work through more of the menu. If you haven’t been, “treat yo’self!” and get there, m’kay? And when you do, tell them Donny point you their way. And if you happen to see me there, don’t stare or be shy, say hi! 🤓
I have ordered pineapple rice with chicken, shrimps and tofu through Uber Eats. The dish had a taste of old disgusting pork fat and like it was cooked on bitter old oil. I could not eat that, because I didn't want to vomit after. I even think it was dangerous to eat that food.
I have ordered the same dish in many different places around the world and it was one of my favorite. But this one was the worst thing I ate for many years.
I was too hungry to share a nice picture of the food ... but everything we ordered was so delicious. I will definitely go back.. The presentation of the plates were great as well. The ginger ice tea was perfect not too sweet just perfect. I can't wait to go back. The waitress was so professional and friendly.
Ordered over Uber Eats a few days ago and I wish I didn’t, it was overpriced and absolutely not tasty. If I’ve dined in the food would’ve been sent back instantly. Larb is a dish known full of meat, I received a tiny tea spoon of pork horribly seasoned with a box full of vermicelli. The green curry was just sad. The only tasty thing wast the Roti curry, buuuut it was a tiny little bowl (even though I ordered large) with hair in it for extra kreatin. If you really want authentic and good thai food try Wat Thai Saturday and Sunday food market.
Wonderful Thai restaurant! Reasonably priced with decent portions. The Soft Shell crab curry is to die for!!! Two whole crabs and a lot of veggies in the curry, along with a big bowl of rice had me totally full. I ordered it spicy, and it was really spicy! Other Thai restaurants I’ll order “Thai spicy” but I probably won’t here :) We came a little late, right before they closed at 3:30, but the service and quality of food was still wonderful. Did not feel rushed at all. I will be back to try some more dishes.

My favorite place all the time ; every week I’m there to enjoy my fresh rolls with shrimp and the beef noddle soup . Very friendly staff!!
Fantastic food, A+ best curry I've ever had!
All other dishes are also amazing.
Delicious food. Friendly customer service. Great deals on their lunch special.
Delicious food, good portions, and speedy service. Read other reviews and I know some Thai places can be very spicy, so I ordered one dish medium and one mild. They both could have gone one level higher. Despite that, they were still very good.
Ordered:
Medium spice Tom yum with shrimp,
Mild spice pad kee mow seafood with extra vegetable (despite the menu description not stating the seafood that comes on it AND the online order menu offering the addition of seafood medley, this dish does in fact come with shrimp, fish, and a couple muscles. You don’t have to pay extra for it)
Sticky rice with coconut ice cream
I will definitely be getting a second meal out of my order. Nice portions!

The restaurant is really scamming all the customers which you guys don’t know. I never get scared of paying tips to all the restaurants as long as I love the service. But I decided not to give tips on this restaurant that day. Because when I got receipt, they put the charge for the party service fees which mentioned over 6 people in a table. But I went there with my friend. My total fees were $40. They charged party over 6 person fees into $6. When I asked to the worker (she is super thin and look Thai, super rude for the customer) there, she started answering very rudely and shouted to us by ignoring to other customers. So shameful to them with all those money they take from customers. First, she said it’s for those who sit and eat in the restaurant. I said in the receipt they mentioned over 6 persons. She started yelling at me and my friend and said you can take away if you don’t want to pay that fees. I am accepted if I have to pay service fees tho. But she answered me like we are eating free so we have to pay if we eat in the restaurant. That’s the second time I faced that in that restaurant. I saw one customer lady complained about that and the owner old lady yelled at that customer. They are treating to the customers like they are feeding free and we have to pay extra add on fees if we sit in the restaurant although the food is not with affordable price. Will never recommend to this restaurant with all my experience in LA. That’s the worst Thai restaurant.

Yummy food, great wonderful staff
I see a hair is in the soup plate in your menu picture. Is it something special?
Don't be fooled by Mama, she's built a beautiful atmosphere that is best kept in Thailand because the owner asks for tips. The beef was liver. And they were mad that I only paid 18$ for an order of Liver beef and rice.
When people assume that a tip should be obligatory but their prices are high and they own the place. Nice stop along the way. Next!
Need services improvement.
Overall, the sticky mango rice (which was seasonal according to the menu) was outstanding. The rice was well steamed, and had the perfect amount of flavor. The coconut milk sauce on the side was good as well. Not to mention the mangos were extremely fresh and sweet. A simple yet delicious dessert. The service provided by the young lady was great as well. Will recommend to try it out before the mangoes go out of season.
Comfortable space with inviting service. We were waited on - this means that upon arrival we were in conversation and asked for another moment. The service, boomeranging back, was not too early and allowed our conversation to finish.
The food was delicious. Appetizers and the salad dressing deserve highlighting. The noodle dishes were flavorful and moist, yet they were not saucy and oily.
Next time I’m leaving space for dessert.
Good and all but when u pay $2 extra for shrimp and u only get 3 It jus doesn't make sense
Found this hidden gem of a place on my way walking the other day. The food is EXCELLENT. And the people here are always nice and friendly. I always order the Tom Kha (coconut soup) and it’s very rich and creamy. The other items in the menu are really well made and I come over just to eat in this place, because it’s my favorite Thai place so far. The prices are the same as other places, but it’s twice the quality. Sincerely a great place to eat. 5 stars
Always great food
This little spot is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in LA. I tend to find each restaurant has a specific dish or dishes that is more authentic or that I favor but BKK's entire menu is spot on. From Mama's ribs, larb gai, herbal wings and sticky rice, it's as close to Bangkok street food as you'll get in LA.
This is Bangkok style so you won't get a lot of the herbs, lime and lemongrass of Isaan or the curries of the south, but you'll get authentic Bangkok style Thai food that every bite reminds you of those days walking the streets of Bangkok eating at food stalls.
The staff are all very kind and sweet and besides what's on the menu they at one point offered catering but not sure if that's still an option.
There's a lot of Thai food in LA, but not a lot of authentic Thai food. BKK101 should be on your short list of Thai spots to hit.
Definitely try the her al wings, Mama's ribs, pork jerky and crying tiger with some chicken larb and sticky rice
I wanted to order a panang curry - veggie , and then add fried tofu, but I couldn’t add, or specify what kind of tofu I want… I want to give less stars but I won’t
Awesome restaurant. I've ordered half the menu and love everything
Food was very good. Service was fine.
If you are looking for high quality Thai food, this is the spot. Tom Yum soup is my favorite here, and the yellow curry is amazing too.
food is not filling. Very little food and service took too long.
Soft shell crab curry was great; prices were reasonable
I got a pretty basic order, pad thai tofu and veggie spring rolls. Everything was fantastic! The pad thai had good spice, good underlying flavor too. Nice mixture of some veggies and tofu chunks, not just a big heap of noodles. Spring rolls were crispy and hot without being greasy.
Great Thai food in Culver. Friendly staff. Simple menu but always good.
They take their spice seriously, I would recommend one level lower than your normal 🌶️🌶️🌶️
For this price range, this is a 5-star restaurant. It's straight-ahead, well made Thai food that isn't greasy.
Som Tam was excellent. Pad Thai was not my favorite, but still good. The service was fast and friendly. Will be back!
Not very sanitary as I saw a female waitress with blonde-ish hair use her fingers to pour a chunky type of sauce from a spoon into a bowl. Then she used her same hand to rub her nose before carrying the bowl to a customer.
Consistently great-quality Thai food at a good price. They are always really quick and responsive when you place an order over the phone. This place has become my go-to choice for Thai!
Great night market style food, very legit, mango sticky rice is great but only available in season
Every time I order from here it’s delicious! The Pad See Ew and Pad Thai are unmatched! 10/10 recommend!
The food and service here were very good. The Thai iced tea was tasty, but I wish there had been more of it! A large carafe of water was placed on our table so we would not have to ask for more water. I had the pad Thai, and my companion had yellow curry. Both dishes were tasty. We started out with spring rolls with shrimp, and those were also good, partly because they had a nice under sauce. Overall, we were satisfied with this restaurant!
Ordered over Uber Eats a few days ago and I wish I didn’t, it was overpriced and absolutely not tasty. If I’ve dined in the food would’ve been sent back instantly. i loved the food, everything tasted great!
One of the best Thai food places on Westside and I very much appreciate that they pack their takeout in paper boxes so I’m not left with a guilt inducing pile of plastic.
Good food, rip off on portions. I asked for extra noodles and didn’t get that much extra pad see eww. They charged me 18 dollars for it. Which is kinda absurd. As well I asked for no vegetables.
Huge portions at a great price, great pad kee mao and green curry. Definitely on my go to Thai places
Different prices online than in store. Prices online cheaper. Would not honor online prices. Awful business. Way over priced. Find another Thai restaurant
Take out
A friend and I were craving spicy food one evening and found ourselves at BKK101. We got the Panang Curry - Thai spicy, and Pad Kee Mow - Spicy. Let me tell you, it was super spicy, but in an amazing way that absolutely hit the spot. Super flavorful even through the insane amounts of spice! Take their heat levels seriously, and you will enjoy this delicious Thai food. Definitely will be back
Ordered Panang curry thinking there would be some consistency because it is hard to get it wrong. They gave me curry soup instead. Love supporting local businesses but this one ain’t it.
Good food
love this place ❤️ the food is always delicious and made to order. Any spice level that u desire; note that if u ask for thai spicy its really spicy. Amazing staff 👏 🙌 will recommend.
Great service and great food - recommend roti curry, Panang curry, pad see ew and pad thai
Great food, efficient and kind service
Amazing Thai food, great service.
👍👍👍🍻
Love their roti curry!! Good texture and always consistent with the taste
I like vegetables. So, I requested more beansprouts when I call for order, but there was nothing more than normal. I'm disappointed that there's not enough green onions and onions. Also, they charged extra vegetables.
Great food
Terrible food I got the pad see ew and it was very salty the Thai tea was incredibly sweet I do not recommend this place to anyone also very expensive for what you get
My favorite Thai food in LA. Food is great and flavorful, and the veggies are fresh. Taste is consistent whether I eat in person or order delivery. Spice level is perfect. Highly recommend the pad see ew and spicy basil fried rice. Delivery is quick and food is ready under 20 mins.
I really do like the food in this restaurant. Recommend fried rice! You won’t be regret.
This is my choice for late night dinner takeout
ordered the panang curry extremely spicy. most thai restaurants hesitate to make my curry as spicy as i like it but BKKTHAI did not!!!! A+++
This is my go to thai spot. They make delicious food for a reasonable price. The staff is always very polite and service is quick. Whenever I order to go they have my food ready in 15-20 minutes. The dish I usually get is Pad See Ew with chicken and it’s done right every time. Noodles, curry, every meat is cooked do perfection.
Most enjoyable. Great service.
Amazing food and service!
I was too hungry to share a nice picture of the food ... but everything we ordered was so delicious. I will definitely go back.. The presentation of the plates were great as well. The ginger ice tea was perfect not too sweet just perfect. I can't wait to go back. The waitress was so professional and friendly.
Thay take too longgggggggggggg
I’ve come this place many times for years. Reliable Thai noodle dishes and I’m curious to try their other noodle soup dishes.
Last time we had:
Herbal wings (8/10 sometimes this has been dry, but most of the time this is delicious and juicy)
Ground chicken larb (6/10 salad type dish but I wish it were hot and served with lettuce cups)
BKK Noodle (8/10 similar to pho but I like this because of the sweet and sour. Would like some spice in this and I wish the noodles were not so sticky but more separated)
Pineapple curry with duck (6/10 curry tastes good but you can clearly tell it’s a curry base and slap on a few pieces of duck)
Spicy basil fried rice with chicken (7/10 classic order must get it spicy)
Pad see ew with beef (8/10 classic order must get it spicy as well)
Sorry, I have eaten many a Thai restaurants in my 60 + years here and this was one of my least favorite dishes, jeez it was only Pad Thai and I just did not like it. Service was good but... maybe it was just the particular chef.
Enjoyed meals each time we visited.😉
Quick, delicious Thai food. Their crispy chicken cashew nut dish is great, and the pad thai is delicious.
Not clean enough given our current situation. Walked in looking for something new, left empty handed
Food is so flavourful!! Best thai food on the Westside.
Absolutely the best spot for thai on the west side. Unlike other thai places in the area that cater to a more western palate (and sacrificing what makes thai food great in doing so), this restaurant doesn't pull any punches when it comes to hot, sour, spicy, sweet medleys of flavour.
Looking for a place that will respect your right to know yourself? Sick and tired of asking for spicy food on the westside and feeling nary a burn? Order a dish thai spicy from these guys. They don't mess around with the heat, as thai food should be!
I specifically recommend the Som Tam Papaya Salad or the Ka Pow. Every dish I've ever had from this restaurant has been excellent but these two along with the soft shelled crab curry are my go-to's. The tom yum soup is also super flavourful and sour.
I lived in Thailand for a while and am so happy that I no longer have to make the drive over to thaitown or rely on lobo sauce packets when I'm craving real Thai food. Honestly with food this good this restaurant could treat me like trash and I would still come back for more but on top of everything else, they're super kind and friendly and make the effort to recognise regulars.
10/10 amazing food, perfect spice, friendly people. I will return time and time again.
I wouldn’t waste your time with this location. I am afraid there are better Thai restaurants in this neighborhood that serve higher quality food. I encourage you to support local restaurants but not at the expense of service.
Perhaps I should elaborate. I ordered the Thai Tea with Boba and the boba was inedible. You couldn’t chew it. In fact, I was too afraid to put in down the disposal in the sink because if it’s awful consistency.
The mango sticky rice was two mango (lovely but appear unwashed) and a quarter scoop of rice. Not remotely shareable or even enjoyable. The sauce (usually a sweetened condensed milk with coconut dressing of sorts) was simply coconut milk.
Perhaps the other meals are good. Thai food is one of my favorites. This was just such a terrible experience.
Good food. But you need to be patient. They take long time to prepare it.
The interior design, music, good quality food, ingredients and simplicity are authentic combined here.
They never have mango rice desert available. Rice is so so, chicken with sprouts tasted like microwaved meal you can buy for $3-$4. Also portion was too small. Tea was brought not even at the nice kettle. Disappointed
Delicious!
The middle aged woman behind the counter is like my thai mom that smiles and always wants to serve me spicy food that I always regret later. Always. But the food is flavorful and I wouldn't want it any-other way. Their lunch special is probably the best deal across Venice.
Great food but it really bothers me they charge $2 extra for brown rice even though it costs $1 more on the menu.
I had a pad thai. It’s a bit too sweet for me. Most of the dishes are $12.
Service is nice!
Delicious food with true levels of spice you can choose from instead of being toned down all around. Food was fresh, service was extremely fast, and very friendly staff.
Good food. Poor service.
Tasty food. Portions are small so it's easy to taste multiple dishes!
Nice cozy place, clean environment and friendly staff.
Taste food and quick service, I definitely return for more.
This place is amazing. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
Excellent food, adorable little spot. Friendly staff, excellent service. Parking can be tight, but it's my favorite Thai food in LA.
One of our new favorite places in LA. Great for a night in! The food was so good and it was delivered super fast. Highly recommend for quality Thai food in LA.
한국에서 파는 타이음식과 비슷해서 입맛에 잘 맞습니다. 가격도 좋습니다
Place is a little cluttered. Good Pad kee maw!
The portion sizes are too small
Feels family fun. Food is decent but not the best. I would recommend lunch but not my first choice for something like a date
A great family restaurant that serves authentic Thai food. The BKK noodle is definitely one of their best dishes. If you love spicy food get it "Thai Spicy" you can even ask for extra chili for the brave who dare to go even further.
This is my second time ordering from here through postmates and its delicious. I order the amber curry. It comes with potatoes, chicken, carrots, roasted peanuts and jasmine white rice. Delicious. I totally recommend it.
Delicious Thai food. All the times I've come to dine in there's never a wait. Service is on point, bomb Thai iced tea. Love coming here.
I tried the amber curry and it was amazing
Roll and pan Thai are good.
As they say, it really is like your (Thai) mom's cooking. Ever since moving away from my parents, I've been craving homecooked Thai food constantly, and this really hit the spot. Orderedd see ew noodles with chicken satay from the lunch menu. I wish there were more vegetables (and meat, I suppose) because the broccoli was delicious. Plenty of noodles, not enough of the other stuff. Noodles we're really good though, would definitely go there again. Might come back tomorrow for Kai giew...
Best Thai food around. Really hard to go wrong. However, word of warning: when they say spicy, they mean it.
Ordered Roti Curry, Spicy Basil Rice & for dessert Roti with sweet milk. we usually order Roti Curry and that's really good but curry portion is too small for a 'large' order. pretty nice ambiance and great service.
Nice Thai restaurant for quick bite. Clean and small place.
Best pad see ew I've ever had. Extremely flavorful. Also had delicious pad Thai. This is my new Thai go-to.
Really good food. Very nice wait staff. This place is tiny but worth it. I do wish they use shiitake mushrooms in their Tom Ka Goon. (Coconut milk n lemon grass soup w shrimp)
This place has a decent selection of your most popular Thai dishes but also some special ones. The vegetables are delectably fresh (especially interested in the tom kha) and the flavors are not overly salty (pad Thai). The atmostphere is relaxed and pleasant, staff is super friendly with a smile. First time here left a great impression, definitely will come back.
very good place! the food was brought very quickly! it was very tasty and spicy :) there is free parking and toilet! there is also a lunch
Spicy basil fried rice was super amazing. The curries were decent.
Tried BKK for the first time. I order the Chicken & Vegetarian Pad Thai with a side of Veggie Rolls. Everything was hot and tasty. Service was fast. I order take-out and was heading home within 10-15 mins of ordering. Pricing is average, so it's not "cheap" yet it's not too expensive. I plan on trying something else off the menu soon!
Love this place, the food is good, delivery is quick, the prices are good, and the staff is very friendly.
Very delicious! My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Presentation and taste are authentic to Thailand even though it's in LA which has a bunch of wannabe places.
This is my favorite Thai spot and I frequent often. Great prices, spice, and cozy ambience. The staff create a very friendly atmosphere! Get the Bangkok Rolls to start your night off right.
Fun and cozy atmosphere. I had dinner with my wife here - we ordered the herbal wings, chinese broccoli with crispy pork and poh tak (super tasty seafood soup). I love the food here - so many good flavors!! And the service is awesome - they're very nice and are always checking in to see if we needed anything. I'll definitely come back here again (and again).
Clean, good price, very friendly, delicious
Usually get take-out but the eat-in experience is really good too.
Love the crispy pork (its basically pork belly), really good panang curry, and the creamy shrimp fried rice is great.
Better quality and similar service to the places in Santa Monica that cost 50% more.
Excellent family run Thai restaurant blessed with warm friendly service. Love the decor!
Five stars for the price and quality compared to other west side casual Thai restaurants.
Restroom very clean and well taken care of. Food is so good. Amazing place i would definitely come back here when ever i am in LA
Clean and tasteful! Most thai places l've frequented in Los Angeles tend to leave you grabbing your belly in regret, but not here my friends (must be cause it's in Venice 😆). The spice level has quite a kick so I recommend starting off mild if you're not too keen on spice. This place has a lot of tender love and care that goes into the food and you can taste it with every bite. The ambience is warming and the art on the walls leave you with more than just food for thought. In the words of the governator, I'll be BACK!
Messed up the order but what they brought was delicious anyway
Great Thai food! Much better than your average Thai place. The pineapple fried rice and Tom Kah soup were delicious and fresh
Came here with a meet up group. We shared a few different dishes. Food was good, service was good, and I liked the atmosphere.
Cool little place with solid food. Service can be a bit slow so catch then at a quieter time.
Don't have much experience with thai food, but the pad thai was delicious and the servers were friendly, I'll be back!
My go to Thai spot! Love this place more than any other in the area. Authentic delicious food. My favorites are the Thai stick and the shrimp wonton soup. They are serious comfort food and incredibly flavorful. Best kept secret Thai spot in the area!
I tried this restaurant not expecting much, but it turned out to be a lot better that what i thought.
pad thai was very well done. coming back for sure.
