Had a terrible experience here on 02/15/25. Walked up to the window for their food partner, Sticky Rice, and no one came up to the window or said anything. After a few minutes of standing around I figured my partner and I should head inside to order. The plan was to get food here and hang out at Block Party across the street, but the vibe felt right and they had a decent looking drink menu. Wrong decision. It was busy but it took the bartender 13 minutes to make 2 rounds of 2 drinks. Kitchen was supposed to close at 10:45. By the time I got to order. It was 10:42 and the bartender said kitchen was closed. I placed drinks and talked to a manager named ERIC, who did not care one bit about the fact that they closed the kitchen early and that I was unable to order because of the wait. Did not give a single care. You couldn’t pay me to come back here. Complete lack of service from staff and management.

A big projector screen showing games. Trash as of February 2025. They had to refurnish because of the liquor license. But idk it's kinda whack now. Super gentrified. Don't like it.

Good food, good drinks, friendly staff, pool tables, booths for larger groups, DJ stage and live performance stage, and I also got to play Super Nintendo mini on a projector. There are some good deals on happy hour but overall, it wasn't an expensive place to go. Plenty of other spots nearby making it perfect for bar hopping but this is a must stop place

An absolute vibe.

The sour beer was delicious. I love the 80s feel to the bar and the fact they have old school video games. Go Ms. Paxman. The food was decent too. Service was pretty decent, they could have come around a little more to check on our drinks, but that's sor of nit picking. Overall, would definitely return in my 80s attire.

The low rating is for the green curry tonight, not necessarily reflective of the bar as a whole, as I enjoy playing pool here.

Ultimately, for a dish that came out to be $25 (!!) before tip, this curry left a LOT to be desired. Ordered medium but filled with jalapeños and seemingly uncooked red pepper flakes, it was overwhelmingly spicy. Also present were Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and cooked tomatoes? No eggplant as stated in the description… It just wasn’t the dish I expected.

Not sure if it was an off night or what. I’ve had the Panang curry and pad see ew in the past, which were good.

Now that I calm down, another review. Avoid this place by all means. Owner mistreat staff and has a hard time paying entertainment acts.

This place is LA vibes to the core

First time visiting and stopped in after a weeknight movie night.
Service was great and very helpful with recommendations from drinks to food to what entertainment was available (i.e. arcades, pool, upcoming live performances, and FREE N64 GAMES!)

Such a great place to hang out. Good Thai food or even after a dinner at some other place you would want to come to this place afterwards to spend the rest of the night, at any day of the week. Very nice, friendly staff and even people who come to this place from anywhere become friendly and sociable to anyone. Alex from the bar is the best - very nice dude. Kat and Nikkia(not sure of the spelling) at the bar are really great too! You can never go wrong coming to this place whether for drinks, socialize, play pool, arcade, dance or just hang to socialize. The bestest!!!

The interior of this bar was super cool. Think disco ball, orange pool table, aquarium. Lots of seating. They have wine and beer. I got a glass of wine and it was okay. It's natural wine if that's your thing. It was a chill atmosphere to grab a drink and you can order food from the place out front and bring it in. A nice bar to tuck into.

Definitely not my style, the place is nice but very boring to hangout.

I have been here many times, especially in the past when it was called the hi-hat, and I think that the way it is now is an improvement if only for the sound. there are a bunch of arcade machines but they look like they're hard to find. they had this Frozen wine type of drink I was afraid it was going to get me super drunk really fast because I sipped everything at the bottom of the ice and you know how alcohol freezes at a lower temperature, but fortunately it wasn't that strong. and unfortunately it wasn't that strong.

This bar is a super fun place to eat, play pool, old school arcade games, and hang out on the dance floor. It has a super fun atmosphere and I recommend it for a calm night out. If they are hosting a live performance the seating is comfortable and the music is good. Highly recommend!

Fun bar, fun environment, good arcade selection. If you’re looking for night life I recommend showing up later in the evening.

Lots of fun things to do: arcade, pool, disco dance floor, good drinks and food. There's a $5 cover fee, and then you also have to pay per pool game ($2) and per arcade game.

Came for the Thai food, stayed for the ambiance! This place lived up to the hype and exceeded my expectations! Loved the disco ball, the music was a whole vibe, the food was better than I expected and the portions were huge, and the service was with a smile. Will definitely be back.

Highlights were the tom kha soup and the crispy tofu. Despite the name, the mango sticky rice was our least favorite dish and I'll skip it next time. The tom kha was the best I've ever had and the portion was enough for 2 or 3 people as a main course or even more as an appetizer. The crispy tofu was enough for 3 or 4 people too. Definitely shareable sizes!

The Goldfish is wack as hell, but Sticky Rice is still bomb in my book. Here’s what happened to me. The advertised price of a Hazy on their mirror board menu is $8 but they charged me $10. So I asked for a copy of my receipt so I could show them the difference in price from the advertised price to what they actually charged me and instead of giving me back my $2 they said I could have $2 sake shots all night. Sake tastes like punishment and I told them I don’t like sake and I’d rather have my $2 back at which point the bartender told me, “look I’m just trying to help you” to which I replied, “yes, but only after I caught you stealing $2 dollars from me”. I suggested just giving me two bucks from the cash register, the tip jar or from the arcade games or pool tables, which was met with an eye roll. In the end I was not refunded my money for the beer and was told this was the best they could do. I won’t be coming back here again, except for Sticky Rice.

Great place to hang out! Big on the 70s vibes, they have a huge disco ball. Can't speak to the food, but you can order Thai at the bar from the restaurant next door. Drink were good, mostly beer, wine, and canned seltzers. They have pool tables and arcade games near the bathrooms! Some eat your quarters but the fact that you can play all of them for a quarter is still great.

Atmosphere was awesome. Only downside is they don’t have a full bar. Only beer, wine and sake. So we left 5 minutes in and went across the street.

Super fun venue with a funky vibe. I recently moved to Los Angeles county after living 10+ years in NYC and I miss being able to bop around for love music shows playing regularly on weekends. This place has that and I’m STOKED to discover all the cool bands/community artists that are local to the area. Plus, it’s a cool space to meet hip locals my age and on the same vibe. :D

I like that you can get Thai food from the Sticky Rice restaurant inside. There is a good amount of space inside for dancing and hanging around the bar.
Good amount of people for the event I attended, Disco and Donuts. Younger crowd, would go there again.

I originally came here to eat at sticky rice, and I was looking at the menu there was a specific item only for Highland Park, the Penang curry fries, I knew I instantly wanted that, when I went to the sticky rice window they told me I needed to go inside the goldfish to order this item, and I’m glad for the push, because when I went inside, it was an absolute disco, I couldn’t possibly leave. I had three hard kombucha’s, and I was dancing on my own for about two hours with some Penang fries to top me up for the night.
