The food was great. Really good. However, I’d sent my daughter to pick up our order and she forgot her wallet. So she called me and I said I’d pay over the phone with my card, but they wouldn’t accept that??! Bizarre. Is there some sort of scam going with that? I’ve never had that happen where a business wouldn’t accept payment over the phone. My daughter had to come home, get her wallet, and then go back to pay & pick up the food.

I had this 👌 Whild chicken red curry with rice... amazing taste👏 🙀 and healthy. It has at least 6 different vegetables in it and a few chunks of pineapples.
Today, 7-22-24, I had eggplant with mixed vegetables & chicken.

Love this restaurant. Excellent food. Portions are reasonable. Price is on point. Always fresh. Staff is friendly. A real treat for East County. I've had just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Dine in or take out both are good.

What you need to know is that they do get busy. Also, if you let them know you're on a time crunch, they will do their damnedest to accommodate you. It's nice to have an outdoor patio as well in case you want some of that fresh San Diego sunshine.

I always fall back to the mixed vegetables with tofu. They usually pick a tasty sauce for me because I can't eat oysters.

Their lunch special is a very good value!

Service for me was a zero. I came in today to place a takeout order. The waitress directed me to the register at the back of the house. Then she disappeared. I waited ten minutes to place my order. She never returned. So I also must give Phra Ram 9 a one star food rating because I never even got a chance to taste it.

Amazing experience. Took the family here and the owner is amazing. Really family friendly always making u laugh. Food is 5 star. Sweet and sour can’t go wrong.

So I went in and they were still working on my order I just asked politely how long more the lady told me you can cancel it if you don’t wana wait

Called to place an order for pick up. They read off my order and gave me a total of $19.32. My wife sends me with a 20 dollar bill to pick up the food. When I get there they tell me it is $26.94. I play back the call for them where they read off my order and gave me the total. They refused to listen to the call recording and walked away from me. I asked to talk to the manager who brought my printed order showing the total of $19.32. She told me it did not include 2 items from my order. I again mentioned the call recording and said the error was on their end as they read the order back and gave me the 19 dollar total. They pulled out 2 things from my order to make it under 20 so I could pay with the $20 cash I had in hand. Horrible customer service. For $19.32 they earned my partial food order and this 1 star review.

This is a hole in the wall. Delicious fried rice with fresh ingredients, outstanding service, and beautiful display right out of the Togo box. This is lucky find and satisfying experience.

Tom khar soup was yummy. I also had spicy noodles and panang curry. I found level 3 spicyness very tolerable and could have probably done a 5 and still enjoy it. Flavor wise all items were good, but I gotta say the curry consistency lacked body; it was too runny. Portions are conservative, a meal is enough for one only. Prices are average to high. If ordering to go, make sure to ask for dinnerware and napkins because evidently it isn't standard to include with order.....I learned it the hard way;)

We tried this after the gym one day. Delicious. Lovely service. We get pad Thai, fresh summer rolls and sticky rice. Good value. Their Covid protocols are very safe so we do pick up here with ease and confidence.

Lunch specials are great value for the price, but make sure you tell them you want a lunch portion otherwise they will charge you the full dinner price. There is both indoor and outdoor dining. Try their Panang Curry available in both veg and non-veg options. They also have vegan ice creams which are delicious.
It's the only Thai in Rancho San Diego area, wish there were more.

This restaurant has been a staple in our community for years and they have always delivered on food quality and authenticity as well as best in class service and overall kindness. I will definitely miss the food and the people working at Pham Ram 9 as I am moving but I’ll be back for more whenever I’m back in town.Thanks for filling my belly with so many meals Pham Ram 9. This used to be my go to place for Thai but most of my order tonight was not even edible. The spring roll was the only good thing. The chili sauce with it was all water and a few chili flakes, the tofu was breaded in a sugar mixture and the curry was spicy with no flavor. The chicken was overcooked and the peppers were raw.
I hope they go back to their old recipes soon.

I don't believe I have ever left a bad review of a restaurant, but there's a first for everything. First the plusses, my son's pad Thai was passable, but $15 for a small serving? The people working there were very kind polite and sweet. The food on the other hand..... I paid $21 for Panang Scallops. The "scallops" tasted like bad fish, and the curry was a watery mess, with no flavor. We also ordered the tempura calamari. It was burned, and they used some kind of sweet cookie dough for the tempura. I couldn't even fake it. I gave it back, sucked up the $60., and wrote this review.

First time going there and the food was delicious. The workers there made sure to check up on us to see how we were doing. The food came at a reasonable time, and for sure the best place where I’ve had fried rice in SoCal. They’ll definitely be seeing me there more often!

Great thai eatery!! The food is delicious. My husband is in love with their curry! The pad thai lunch special is great. Occasionally my office will order lunch and everyone picks the pad thai! They take phone orders and have a quick turnaround time! I'm always impressed with how quickly the food is ready. Did I mention it's well priced, too?? If you like thai, you gotta try this place out.

Excellent authentic Thai food. Great staff. We eat there once a week or so and often do take-out. Some of the dishes are best experience in the restaurant such as the pineapple fried rice served in half a pineapple. We like the chicken coconut soup and the Red green and yellow curry.

The employees and owners are very attentive, and just all around nice. The restaurant isn't huge, but it can seat enough people comfortably. They even have a couple tables outside when its nice. Cute interior and soft music playing make it a relaxing and enjoyable experience. The salad, Thai tea, soup, pad Thai, curries, and everything I have had are delicious. Definitely recommend.

Got home with take out. Yellow curry was horrible, Spice clump in bottom, potatos and carrots were completely uncooked, bland. Drove back to return it at 9:40 and they were completely gone. I payed cash and recieved no recepit. Tomorrow may 9th i plan to get refund. Not cool and shady business going on here.

My husband and I have been coming here for the past 5 years. We have always liked the food and atmosphere. However, something has definitely changed in the past year....and not for the better! We have been ordering the same meals weekly for the past 5 years, and we definitely have a solid foundation to compare our experiences to. We have been suffering through the decline, but have continued to go back. Tonight was the last straw! When we dine in they usually give me a larger side of each. My husband always orders the pineapple fried rice. He always like to add a little peanut sauce to his meal, and they ALWAYS give him a hard time about it. It's $15.99 for basically a bowl of rice, and they give him grief about a little peanut sauce. We are only talking about an ounce of sauce! Again, tonight he ordered on line and went to pick up our order. We had already indicated that we wanted a little extra sauce, and when he got there to pick it up, they did not give him any. My husband was embarrassed and humiliated by a male server named Thai (sp?) because he "got loud" about us asking for extra sauce. He reprimanded my husband and said that his pineapple rice did not come with sauce. My husband offered to pay for a side of sauce, but this man continued to insist that the dish did not come with sauce! Then he gave him a hard time about the sauces for my meal. In addition to the soup I always get the Sampler 1. Due to the size of the sampler, I ask for an extra plum sauce and peanut sauce, so I have enough for everything. My husband stated to him that we regularly spend $ 40 to $50 dollars weekly on dinner for 2 and asked if they were willing to lose a customer over sauce? This man "Thai" told my husband that they have a "special chef" that they have hired to come in and make sauce, and it is "special sauce". Really?? Does he think that we are idiots? I also ordered the Tom Khar soup with chicken (no tomatoes, no onions and no mushrooms)...but mine had mushrooms in it! I am allergic! Geez! So careless. In addition to the soup I always get the Sampler 1. Due to the size of the sampler, I ask for an extra plum sauce and peanut sauce, so I have enough for everything. We are regular dining out customers, at many different dining establishments in San Diego. I have NEVER been charged or denied an extra sauce of anything if we wanted it! Plus they gave me mushrooms when it was specified....NO MUSHROOMS. I could have had a very bad reaction had I not notice them!! Plus, to add insult to injury, my shrimp in the sampler were minuscule and dried out. We definitely have other options for Thai food and will be exploring them. Phra Ram 9 has lost 2 excellent customers. We will also be sure to let all of our friends know of our terrible experience.

Best Thai food I've ever had. We were in La Mesa on vacation for 7 days and we ended up visiting this place TWICE for dinner. The first time I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The second time I had the Pad Thai. DELICIOUS. The ambiance is very nice and the service was excellent as well.

My wife and I have been coming here for about 1 year now and I'm not sure why it took so long to write a review. The staff is very friendly and it's clean inside. The food is great! I am a big yellow curry fan and order yellow curry at every Thai place I visit.

The yellow curry is excellent. The fresh rolls are great as well. My wife gets the spicy basil with tofu. We are regulars here and are usually there every Thursday for the lunch special but I believe the lunch specials are Monday-Friday.

They just started to deliver now! I was amazed to find this out. You just need to be within a 2-3 mile radius. It's very rare to find a Thai place that delivers. Definitely give this place a try! :)

Ordered Tom kha, not the best I've had. In fact a bit disappointing. A bit too watery for me.
The Pad thai, yellow curry, fried rice...all delicious. The yellow curry just spicy enough. Pad thai, a bit sweeter than I'm used to. It was still very good.
The chicken and vegetables were all very fresh.
I will try this place again soon.

I go here for business meetings sometimes and they are a great value for the price. Their lunch specials are from $6.99-$10.99 and includes a soup, salad, two wontons, a spring roll and then your entree. I love to get the yellow curry chicken. Great value and great food.
