Everything about this place was good. Plenty of space with sushi bar set up towards the back. Play soft, soothing music that you can enjoy without it drowning out your conversation. The decor is fresh and nicely done. The service was A+. Our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes and had great recommendations. The food was very very good. All our dishes came out in a timely fashion and was hot. Had a really good visual presentation as well. Reasonably priced also. 3 appetizers, 2 entrees, a mixed drink and a sweet tea...$88!! First time trying but will definitely be going again!!

The presentation, the attention to detail, and taste make this a burger in the one percent area! I posted all the ingredients instead of listing. A great burger!!!

Really good meal! Great flavor, great places! Also excellent service! Sorry we were too hungry and it dove into the food before I could get a picture! But both the red and the green curry were great. Spiced too. Didn't have a whole lot of spice so we could have gone a three but better to go under than over! Also did a sushi roll and edamame. Ordered to go and was told a 20-25 minute wait. Took 50 minutes. Ordered Pad Thai (spicy)-missing peanuts and the only flavor was the spice. Worst Pad Thai I have ever eaten. Only ate about 1/4 cup and trashed the rest. Ended up with food poisoning hours later. Also ordered Thai Fried rice- had absolutely zero flavor. Also went in the trash. Basically I spent $56 plus a tip to throw away food. Stay away from this place!

I’ve been coming to this great restaurant for 10+ years and tonight I received the worst service. Our server Eden was horrible. I had to ask for our drinks after food was already there, I asked for another sauce never got that, and never received a refill. I can overlook all of that especially being a bartender and serving but her attitude was just not it. She didn’t want to be there and it showed. I mean her conversation down the bar of loving bartending but hating it there proved its point. Disappointed in the service but still love this place.

I have to say, I'm floored. Absolutely wonderful staff, shoutout to Brooklyn. And the food was incredible, thank you so much and I WILL be back 👌

Our family loves this restaurant! Food is always good! We have always had good experiences with the sushi - fresh & good! We love their spring rolls & bang bang shrimp and love the Thai fried rice & Pad Thai. Everyone is always able to find something on the menu they like! The employees are always friendly but some may be a little slower than others. My daughter had her 21st Birthday Dinner here for family & friends, and the staff was more than accomodating with finding us a space large enough, and being attentive. Our waiter made my girl's birthday night wonderful!! She ordered her 1st alcoholic drink here and the bartender made some great drinks! One of our family favorites to visit when we come into town to visit our girl at school!❤️

First time trying sushi and I must say it was great. The California Rolls and Crunchy Shrimp Rolls are a must try. I recommend and will be returning.

Place is awesome. Millidgeville is a college town so the place is usually crowded.

Let's begin with the fried rice. This has to be the worst representation of such a tasty and easy to make dish. As a Chef, I definitely dont take too kindly to lazy cooking. Especially when it's easy. Let's start.... the rice was undercooked and lacked flavor. If you know anything about fried rice its based on rice that was cooked already and gets cooked again, which makes you think of how under cooked this rice was before they cooked it again. Smh. There were no vegetables at all... where are the peppers, the tomatos, the onions.. the basil that should be crispy was soggy. I opted to get steak in my rice. Well, they put 5 pieces of steak. $17 for just rice with 5 pieces of steak. Kai Thai should be ashamed of themselves. I would love to come by and teach you the proper way to cook this entree.

Sushi: The sushi was alright. There is nothing special to it. But, then again, not much to sushi.

Noodles:

The noodles were ok. Cant really mess noodles up.

Kai Thai, as one of the only higher tier restaurants in Milledgeville, I expected so much more from this restaurant. I am not sure if this is how run your business on the regular and this is the level of food that you serve your customers, but for your prices, your customers deserve so much better.

Corinne is one of our favorite servers, always smiling, very efficient and even when the restaurant is super busy or short staffed she gives you her full attention.

Well executed Thai and sushi options. One of our main go-to's when we're in Milledgeville. My wife loves the Pad Thai Chicken. The curries are good and the sushi is too. We certainly wish there was something like it in Macon. The service is always outstanding too.

We tried the Kevin Bacon roll. Really good. We also had Hibachi chicken and beef with the teriyaki sauce. Very good.

Tried the Chef's special "Crying Tiger" ribeye steak with dipping sauce and veggies. Very good. Also had the appetizer combo which I highly recommend!

Favorite restaurant by far. I have a gluten, onion, egg & cashew allergy & my stomach isn’t a fan of sugar & I can always find something to eat here without having anaphylaxis. The staff is phenomenal. We have never had a bad server or experience. On one occasion, I ordered a salad that I wasn’t fond of and my server, Ashley, took it off our bill and took it back. The bartender makes me skinny margaritas without sugary sour mix & is always attentive regardless of how busy they get. My husband & I love sitting at the bar if there is a wait. Never a dull moment & we leave full & happy.

Will is such a fun bartender and always has a positive attitude, even when he is slammed. Best margaritas there are. Ashley remembers my order. Every time she is our server, she remembers my favorite app and drinks. Phil is new but goes out of his way to help his colleagues, like they’re long term friends, and you won’t see him frown!
Not to mention, you’ll see the owner, Kook, running food to help out her servers while she’s busy cooking up a masterpiece in the kitchen. Every date night my husband and I get, we come here.

My sister and I and my nieces had a great lunch there. It was the first time I had ever been there. But it was well worth it definitely definitely would go back. Enjoy the sushi. I enjoyed the Pasta dish. I got I just everything was delicious.

Went in to order 1 boba tea for my daughter and they took more then 20 minutes. Went back to the front asking if the was the boba tea was done and guess what, no one made it, they asked if we paid, they looked on the computer screen and couldn't find it, asked who serve me, (like how would I know the persons name?). Had to show them the receipt and that's when they went and made the boba tea and came back to apologize.

Food was good service was okay but the Asian atmosphere was lacking.

Love the more spacious new location! The food was great as always! A guest tried something new to her and didn't care for the flavor. The awesome waitress and manager made several suggestions and tried to help her out, even though it was a taste preference and nothing that they did wrong. We especially enjoyed our cheerful waitress!

The yellow chicken curry is very tasty. They looked at me like I was crazy when they asked what level of spiciness i wanted and I told them as spicy as they can make it. It was definitely spicy but not unbearable or anything. If anything it was the perfect level of spiciness.

Liked the place. Shimp tempura sushi was great, so was shrimp rangoon!

Best sushi and red curry I’ve had and everyone is super chill. A 10 hour drive for us and we’ll do it again.

My husband, daughter and myself had reservations at 6pm on a Friday, which were made two days in advance. My daughter loves their food and chose Kai Thai Restaurant for her birthday dinner. Not a very friendly hostess and we were sat right next to the front door so never had an opportunity to enjoy the restaurant experience because we had to watch everyone coming into restaurant and waiting to be seated. Throughout the center of the restaurant looked very nice but from a distance since we were seated at the front door table. Our waitress was nice but seemed extremely busy (even saw her busing tables). My husband and I had never eaten here before so we weren't sure what to order and couldn't ask waitress since she was so busy. Other than the disappointing atmosphere the food was very good.

A few things needed some attention, but otherwise amazing service and amazing food.

I haven’t been to Khai Tai since they moved to where they are now. The food was horrible and the steak and chicken was tough for all that money my boyfriend spent I expected more and my steak and chicken to be tender. They gave us all that’s big chunks of chicken with 5 pieces of steak. I don’t know what’s going on or who the new cooks are but it’s a no for me. It was better sitting up there by Walmart hopefully they read this and take it in consideration because this is the truth. The suppose to be yum yum sauce have also got thick. I think Hibachi express better then this. I give the food 0 out of 10 nothing was good also I for got to say the steak was also chewy

Some of the best green curry I've had

Everything was fine except the Chirashi. I don't know if it was because it was on a bed of rice, but the only part of the fish selection that was good was the unagi (eel). Everything else was warmer than room temperature which is not how sashimi is served, even on rice. The thai dumplings were great portion sizes and very filling. The miso soup was awesome. I'm just upset for $26 price tag, the chirashi was horrible.

Melisa helped me figure out what to try. She asked some good questions. We went through several options and settled on the sugar daddy roll and the salmon shooters. They were both delicious. She told me it would be a 20-minute wait, and she offered to call me if I wanted to leave for a while. The food was ready in about 22 minutes. Great calculation, Melisa. I will return when I visit Milledgeville again.

Really wish I'd have taken a picture of the gorgeous sushi board! Everything was delicious. We got several.rolls, bang bang shrimp, a ramen bowl that was so tasty (even though it came out way after the other items), I had the tom kha soup with tofu. Scrumptious! We found this place by Yelp reviews and we would have to concur - It was worth the visit!

My online order took over 50 mins to be prepared. They said their kitchen was backed up. I understood because I've been short staffed before. But right at min 52, they came out and told me I had to pay $5 for extra sauce on my pasta, which I put on my order, and it did not upcharge me.. I asked to speak to a manager. Ms. Ashley came over with an " I don't care attitude" and said I had to pay it. I told her to just cancel my order because I'm not paying $19 for some dry pasta that I'll have to pay $5 extra just to enjoy it. She canceled my order and didn't even bring me the refund receipt. One of the cashiers eventually gave it to me after I asked for it. I've never paid for extra sauce before, so I don't know if this is a new policy they have. Ms. Ashley maybe could've taken a moment to explain that to me if that was the case. Honestly, she should have just given it to me, being that it took 54 mins to make 2 dishes.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is amazing. Mixed drinks a little too sweet so beware. I could go on and on about the food! This place is definitely a favorite. I was enjoying the food so much that I forgot to take a picture of the sushi rolls we ordered.

We had lunch today at the Kai Thai restaurant. It was our first time in their new location. The place was nice and clean. It didn’t smell bad t like the old place.
I had the beef and broccoli and it was very tasty although the portions were very small. If your real hungry you would have to order double. Salad was fresh and the dressing was very good. Miso soup was real bland, no taste. Spicy noodles with chicken was tasty.
They need to bump up their portions a little.

Around noon, I ordered online to pick-up my order at 4:45pm and still have the confirmation email. My order wasn't ready until 5:32pm! Foods good and restaurant looks nice but good luck getting your order in any reasonable amount of time...and my order for Gyoza and Massuman Curry were incorrect.

This place is simply wonderful. We've never had a dish we didn't like and it's absolutely the best sushi we've ever had (and we eat a lot of sushi). It's a bit on the pricy side, but the portions and quality are definitely worth it. One of our absolute favorite restaurants.

I am hesitant to give a less than wonderful review because past experiences with Kai Thai have been positive. For lunch I ordered my usual which is red curry without meat. It had a good flavor... the trouble was it had very scant chewable contents. A few bamboo shoots a few chunks of bell pepper and maybe five small basil leaves. I ordered level 3 heat and it was not hot at all. In addition, the sticky rice was neither sticky nor fully cooked. The price was reasonable, the service was very good and the atmosphere was fantastic. Hopefully this was a one time glitch.

We are easy please when it comes to food and have a very open mind. We went for lunch the other day and the food was good but my wife and I had something that’s got us gripping our stomachs today and about an hour after we ate there. We think it was the meso soup.

Normally this place is on point from the time you step in the place not to mention the excellent food. We normally visit during the week but decided to come on the Saturday(12/3/22) . We left disappointed which is way out off base for this place. But the fried bagel rolls came out cold and had been sitting on the counter so by the time it came to us, it was cold, we also ordered the bang bang shrimp which is normally so delicious but it was as if they ran out of sauce to go on the shrimp. This entire visit was not a good experience so we have decided that the best time to come is during the week and not on the weekend...

November 2022 update: the owners of this restaurant are amazing so to give back to the community & say thanks, they gave away free to-go lunch today. I was able to get there in time to try 2 of the 3 dishes (braised pork belly in sweet soy sauce & Pad Khrao Phao I believe), as well as a Thai Tea. These are things I wouldn't have normally ordered on my own and they were absolutely delicious. Can't wait to dine in their new location.

I've been going to this restaurant since I moved to the area in 2014. It started out as a small restaurant but now they are in a new location that is spacious and really spiffy looking. The food is AMAZING! Definitely my favorite place to eat in Milledgeville, GA. The staff is very friendly. I absolutely love the Thai Basil fried rice. Medium heat. If you ask them to make it hot, they'll set your mouth on fire ;) I'm not big on fishy flavored stuff so when it comes to Sushi, I love the crunch roll. It's simple but delicious. I have tried other things... and so far, I have enjoyed every dish but the previously mentioned are my favs!

Portion sizes are tiny. Photos below are a $21 entree and kids entree. As you can tell, not much of a difference. The chicken was so dry and the steak was so chewy. Sushi was nothing special either. The rice tasted like pure curry I couldn’t finish it. Just because you sell “gourmet food” isn’t an excuse to charge crazy prices for mediocre food. Won’t be returning. Sorry.

Party of 6 for dinner. Quality and temp of food was a positive, but they seemed very disorganized. 3 out of 6 entrees came out, then 2 of the 4 appetizers, then 2 more entrees, then the other 2 apps, and then the final entrée arrived. Two of us were done with our entrees before the last one arrived to the table. No apologies were given.

The food is good but it takes over an hour for it to come out. Happened to me the last two times I've gone. Probably not going back...

Went for lunch today, Sunday at 2:30 pm. We are always pleased with our meal
We ordered the Hangover Roll it was about half the size we usually get we were very disappointed. Also, wanted green tea and was told they were out. We come from Sandersville often for lunch & dinner. Sure hope this is not cutting back! The rest of our meals was very good as usual.

Love their sushi and entire menu and so do our kids! We go once a week and it’s always great food, clean environment, kind and quick service!
We recently had a 30 top table for my son’s birthday and our one waitress was quick, efficient, kind, and on top of our needs!

I placed an on-line order at 3:12 pm for pick-up at 5:30 pm and received e-mail confirmation it was received. I got there only to find the kitchen had not received or started my order. Staff came back and said the manager was pushing my order through and it would be about 15 minutes. 25 minutes later, staff came and told me it would be about another 10 minutes. I asked if I could be compensated with a to-go drink and when staff went to ask the manager, Ashton, she turned her back to me and walked away leaving the poor host to tell me there was nothing he could do. What a poor leadership and customer service example Ashton provided. I asked for my charges to be reversed and left. I won’t be going back.

We had the Kevin Bacon roll as usual, Tom ka, Sweet and Sour chicken, and massaman curry. Every bit of it was great... and the ginger dressing for the salad is still legitimately the best!

Ordered the SUGAR DADDY sushi roll and sweet and spicy noodles *medium spice. It was so delicious. I’ve tried a few of their other rolls and they were just as good. Highly recommend and will be ordering takeout more often.

The restaurant is beautiful inside! It's so spacious and clean.

Being that this was my first visit, I was thoroughly impressed with the food and staff. I had Ginger Salad and Ginger Chicken. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting!! I will definitely return when I'm in town.

I feel bad I haven't reviewed Kai Thai before. Hands down one of the best sushi/thai places I have ever had. Amazed that it's here instead of a big city.

As an aside, been going there for 10+ years. Back before smart phones we lost a camera at one point. About 6 months later we went back to Kai Thai (we live 30+ miles away so don't come as often as we'd like) and the owner remembered us and produced the camera! What a great heart. Thank You!

Always delicious! Make sure you go early to beat the rush. You have to try their sushi!
