Khao Hom Breakfast & Thai street food
The food looks absolutely adorning but I felt like the flavors were kind of there. I’ve been to other Thai brunch establishments in the Bay and this one’s alright. We were seated on the other half of the restaurant so the servers didn’t really come around to our table. The coffee was ok. The best thing was the roti! Maybe dinner menu is better.
I have been a loyal customer since the establishment opened. It is one of my preferred dining establishments in the Bay Area. The food is quite satisfactory, but it fluctuates. It is imperative to note that they do not have air conditioning during the hot summer months. It is hoped that this issue will be resolved by the forthcoming summer. It is crucial to book a large group's table. This establishment is somewhat expensive, so it is advisable to be prepared. With some of the dishes, the portions are quite small, such as their fried calamari, but they are quite tasty. Highly recommend! So give it a shot!
Came here to check it out (I'm not from around here) and I wasn't expecting the inside to be so fancy per say. Didn't have to wait long to be seated and the waiter was pretty attentive to our needs. The food was simply amazing too. I enjoyed the Thai Tea Pancakes. The salmon dish I got was simple and good. I tried a little of the fried chicken with curry and I loved it. The only downside to the place was how hot and stuffy it was. But overall I liked the place.
Made a reservation for Saturday lunch and it was pretty busy and loud in the restaurant. Definitely hard to have a conversation in here, but the ambiance was overall pretty nice inside. Since I am allergic to peanuts, I told the waiter and he made sure to avoid peanuts for the food.
Food was pretty good and service was attentive, my favorite dish was the samosa with yellow curry it was really good! Everything else was just ok, nothing really special, but I liked the pad se-ew more than the waffle.
Overall definitely one of the nicer spots in Hayward, would definitely recommend trying at least once if you are in the area.
Good food excellent service, plenty of parking in the back lot. Had the crabby omlette, nice chunks of crab 🦀 body on top- however it had quite a strong fishy flavor, not like fresh crab. Pumpkin 🎃 curry was very good as were the ribs. Pad Thai was ok. Large portions, roti canai sause was excellent, bread was somewhat greasy. Samosas were ok. All in all it was a good experience.
We ordered delivery so did not have the pleasure of dining in but if it is anything like the food, we would enjoy it immensely.
We ordered a couple of noodle dishes, red curry, Basil fried rice and spring rolls.
Everything was delicious and fresh. The dishes were very flavorful with perfect spice level.
I will be returning very soon. I also recommend this place highly.

Recently found this place, and I must say, Khao Hom will be my go-to starting today, for some of the best Thai food I've had in a while.
The staff were all very welcoming and the food came out fast and very delicious. To top it off, desserts were limited but the banana roti was just what I needed after a heavy meal! 10/10!!!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Khao Hom restaurant in Hayward and I must say, it was a great experience from start to finish. However, what truly made the experience unforgettable was the incredible act of kindness by one of the staff members, Pong.
During my visit, I accidentally left my laptop bag behind. Thankfully, Pong found my bag and saved it for me. Not only did he keep it safe, but he also made sure it was returned to me. His honesty and kindness truly set him apart.
The food at Khao Hom was delicious. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a meal. The rest of the staff were also friendly and provided excellent service!
Khao Hom has exceptional staff who go above and beyond to ensure their customers have a great experience. Pong's act of honesty and kindness is a testament to the high standards upheld by the restaurant. Thank you for the great service!
The massaman curry is amazing!
Okay, get ready to indulge in some delicious Thai food! If you're like me and often find yourself driving by this spot, you're missing out! I finally decided to stop in, and I'm so glad I did. This place is a hidden gem, and it's now my go-to Thai spot – no more driving across town!
We went with a group, and we ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and everything was amazing! The Crabby Tom Yum was a standout – a generous lump of crab on a fluffy omelette, all drizzled in a mouthwatering Tom Yum sauce. We also loved the Pad Kee Mao (beef), with its tender beef and flavorful sauce.
One of the highlights is their brunch menu, which you can enjoy before 2 pm. We tried the Chicken and Waffles, and some people at the table said it was the best they've ever had. The Roti bread was also a hit, and the chicken wings were finger-licking good! Don't forget to save room for dessert! The Mango Sticky Rice was the best we've had – sweet, creamy, and perfect for ending a delicious meal.
The drinks were also great. I had a Lychee Martini that was refreshing and not too sweet.
If you're in downtown Hayward, this place is an absolute must! It's got a great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service. You won't be disappointed!
This was my sisters and my first time to this restaurant. The food was ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! We will definitely come back. There is plenty of space for a dinner party, which I will plan to have there.

Very good food! And it was very quick, attentive service. Good atmosphere. Unique menu but still all the Thai staples. Will definitely return!

Good Thai food good service and good ambience. Like the place. Located in downtown Hayward. You can park on the street but parking is also available in the rear, and you can enter from the rear door.
Food and service were wonderful!! Our group of 3 shared calamari, pad thai, tamarind salmon, and pumpkin curry w/ rice. Mostly everything was DELICIOUS.
We did have some feedback about the food—
good 👍:
- pumpkin curry was flavorful, spicy and had enough meat/veggies
- salmon had a unique tamarind sauce that really went well together 👌
- pad thai had plenty of flavor and was shareable
needs work 🤷♀️:
- calamari wasn’t crispy or flavorful so it was just okay
-we had hoped to get a bigger serving of the salmon or maybe served with rice or something.. especially since it’s a little bit pricey and doesn’t come with any sides.
Exceptional - service, food and decor. Slightly on the expensive side but the food quality and quantity justifies it. Stopped here on the way from SFO to YNP - and glad we did. Food was delicious and portions were large as well.
Think we tried the Thai chicken curry and it was simply delicious.
They also have some fusion Indian samosa dishes but we weren’t really interested. Fried rice serving can serve 2.
I think they shine more for the breakfast/brunch menu than the dinner menu. We tried them for dinner one night. The interior decor is really nice, upscale and contemporary. Our host was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. For food: (note: we specifically requested our dishes to be "Thai spicy" as we love spicy food)
Tom Yum soup - good with fresh vegetables. Not much of a spice though which made it fall flat
Larb gai - The chicken was good, and the presentation was nice, BUT, the lettuce leaves were not cut which made it 'look good' but next to impossible to get to your plate without spilling the chicken etc all over the table. Very frustrating to eat.
Pumpkin curry - this was noted on our bill as "spicy". . . NOT at all. Very disappointed in this dish. There was hardly any flavor at all.
I am not sure if the host was taking his own initiative to NOT add spice to our dishes, but it was not good. Everything was rather flat....
Great service and presentation. Cocktails are yummy. Looking forward to coming back to try the other menu items
My go to is yellow curry.
What I had was excellent, also crispy pumpkin-mmmmmmmmm.

This Thai restaurant is my new go to spot!💎 From the moment I opened the menu, I was impressed by the variety of options — so many intriguing dishes that it was hard to choose. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. 🌿🔥 The balance of spices, herbs, and freshness in each dish was absolutely magnificent.
And let me tell you, the Thai tea was magical! 🧡✨ Every bite and sip was a delightful experience. Everything was just so delicious, I’m definitely coming back! 😍🙌 If you're craving yummy Thai cuisine that delivers on flavor and variety, this spot is a must-visit!
The food, the atmosphere and the service was amazing this thanksgiving afternoon! I'm glad I got to spend it with loved ones here and we got to enjoy all of our delicious meals that we had! Will be coming back soon ☺️

Great place to hang out. Good food and drinks.
Food is good but the service was chaotic. Waiters running around frantic. I had to pin one down to get served. And we had a reservation.
I like this place. The food on the menu offers good choices and it tastes awesome, portions of curry is also good. The service is friendly but sometimes you have to really wait to get the attention of the staff. It’s always crowded on a weekend so make sure to make reservations in advance.
Coconut 🥥 rice is delicious. Thai tea was so tasty. Calamari was just right...nice and crunchy. Pumpkin curry & yellow curry had just enough heat. We had a very nice lunch. Staff is so helpful. We will be back. Thank you!💯
I went with my wife at about 9 AM, so we got breakfast. Food was pretty good, and the thai iced tea was really good too. I got the stuffed French toast and my wife got the smoked salmon salad. The smoked salmon was salty, but overall she said it was good. I love sweet foods so I ate that French toast up
Great customer service! Staff is very attentive and explains menu very well. All food we ordered were delish. Thai tea coffee is a must. Halloween decor was very nice. The floating candle is very nice
Amazing amazing Thai food, I haven’t had this good of Thai food in a long time. Tastes like food in Thailand. Special shoutout to the tom kha, ANY of the curries, and fried rice. One of the few restaurants that keeps us coming back, trying something new each time.
Good service, friendly servers. Thought that the American food was a strange idea, but the Thai food was authentic and well done. Now, can’t wait to go back and try American breakfast with a Thai twist.
Awesome place and new to the area. Definitely a great addition to the Hayward downtown. Authentic feel with a modern concept. Highly recommend.

I love this place. It serves good food with aesthetics and at reasonable prices. Service is also exceptional. I will always come back.
A nice little friendly place! Felt like supporting a local business. Everything looks simple and local. However, the food is phenomenal. With 4 orders of food, nothing was left on the table at the end.
We tried ribs, fried chicken and egg Benedict, and finished off with the french toast. Ribs were very well cooked with a nice sweet sauce on the plate. The veggies were a little undercooked but it seems like the Thai style if you like such a thing. Potatoes were the cherry on top.
Fried chicken, rice, and curry were just right, with the chicken being delicious. The eggs were ok and a little overcooked.
Stuffed French toast at then end was unique.
The service is friendly and helpful. Feel free to ask anything.
In conclusion, a great place, better food, and great service.
I called in for a pick up order, for lunch. I was super excited to finally try this new place, so I told my coworker about it and she decided to also order some takeout from them. Called it in 20 minutes before getting there- after being told it would be ready in less than that amount of time. Wonderful…
Got there and the waiter invites us to take a seat because the orders were in fact not ready. Totally fine, I don’t mind waiting a few minutes.
I ordered the pad eggplant with shrimp & coconut rice. Also had their fried enoki. Lychee iced tea as a drink.
As we sit down to finally eat- I open my to go container- and it looked like someone already had eaten half. The rice was intact… but there was barely any eggplant.
Everything was room temperature and soggy as far as the vegetables go- and there were literally 4 of the smallest shrimp you could throw in. One of which was undercooked.
The eggplant dish itself was just over 20$ due to having shrimp as my protein upgrade. The rice was a decent portion… the rest of the entree was a rip off and underwhelming.
They’re overpriced, with poor portions. Dining in is something they can handle. They however need to match that quality and service with their to go orders.
Not impressed that they’re all “aesthetic”- and fail to deliver where it matters the most- the palate. The only thing decent was the lychee iced tea and coconut rice.
I won’t be returning nor recommend them to anyone again. There are much better mom and pop Thai spots. This one won’t last on Foothill long…
I love that finallyyy, a nice brunch place is in Hayward. Not only that it is serving brunch menu but also it serves thai authentic flavors! I love thai food and I love brunch, so I’m glad they open in Hayward 😁
We went for Sunday brunch and this place is packed! I recommend making reservations if you can.
The food is great but some dishes are a bit too sweet/salty for me. Refer to each dishes review below for more details. Service was a bit slow (might be because it is crowded). However, the staff are very friendly and I know they try their best.
Crabby Tom Yum Omelette - this is the best dish out of all the dishes we ordered! Omelette is so soft, crab is fresh and they give good amount of crab, tom yum sauce is good.
Ka-Pow Short Rib - short rib is so good, fall of the bone, so tender, but I do wish it’s not separated from the egg benedict. The short rib and egg benedict doesn’t really compliment each other well.
Thai Tea Pancake - pancake is good and well made, but the thai tea syrup/sauce is a bit too sweet for me. I recommend if you are not really a sweet person like me, maybe request them to have the thai tea syrup on the side.
Mama Pad Kee Mao - this is a good twist to pad kee mao dish. They give a lot of seafood and represent the pad kee mao flavor well, but it is a little too salty for me.
Their prices are similar to other brunch places, but keep in mind, for parties of 5 or more, they automatically add 20% tip.
Overall, I really recommend this place! 🙂
We happen to be in the area so thought we would try this restaurant. I wish they were in the Martinez area. It was delicious, the staff was very friendly. We had the popular dishes that Pong suggested, Tom Ka Soup, Crabby Tom Yum Omelette and Roti Gai Tod, Thai iced tea and regular Thai tea, it was ALL delicious!! Whenever we are in the Hayward area, we will definitely be going to Khoa Hom again! Thank you.
From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff greeted me warmly and maintained that high level of hospitality throughout my visit. The place was spotless, and I was impressed by how quickly my food arrived. Not only was it delicious, but the menu options were unique and delightful. Every staff member was friendly and had a smile on their face. Highly recommend this spot for its great food and top-notch service!
Food was okay. The price is a bit high. The lobster omelette was interesting. Couldn’t really make out the Tom Kom broth as it was really bland. The friend chicken roti was good but sadly the chicken was already cooked and left out for some time.
One gripe.. since when is a party of 5 is considered a “large group” and automatically a 20% “gratuity” after tax? And then.. the receipt ask if you would like to make an additional tip in increments from 2% to 7% on top of the 20% after the tax!
Some of the best Thai food in the whole bay area. A little pricier than the average Thai spot but 100% worth it. Food is absolutely delicious and portions are pretty decent. Restaurant is nicely decorated inside too. Was here for lunch so didn't try any of the cocktails but they had some good sounding ones that I will have to come back to try.
One of the hottest days of summer so far and walking into the restaurant at 630pm was almost like walking into a dry sauna. It must have been at least 85° inside the restaurant. They had a couple of fans on but unfortunately that didn't seem to help any. Not sure if they have any air conditioning or if it was just out of order when we went, but a functioning ac would definitely improve the dining experience on a hot day. Aside from that, everything we ordered was delicious... Pad Thai, crispy Spring rolls, crispy tofu, crab fried rice, short rib mussaman, Papaya salad, pumpkin curry, and chicken satay. ( Needless to say, no soup was ordered during this visit) The servers were very friendly and kept the ice water pitchers coming. They accommodated us by keeping our birthday cake in their refrigerator and brought it out at the end of our meal complete with dessert plates and cake knife and server. I would return to this restaurant again and try more of their many other dishes.
The rice was dry and undercooked, which made the meals unenjoyable. The fried chicken was not flavorful. It was a bit dry like it was sitting there for a while.
While I can tell that they put a lot of effort and love into their food, it seems like they haven't been doing this very long. The dishes arrived out of sequence (mains first, mains staggered, appetizer last) and they forgot one of our drinks.
The wait staff appear to have been a bit overwhelmed and were nowhere to be seen for much of the meal. They weren't bad, but they seemed to need at least one more body on the floor for the number of people dining.
As the place got more crowded, it got unbearably noisy. the walls are in dire need of acoustic treatments to curtail the echo.
I've eaten here before, and decidedly will again, but I'll definitely be giving them a bit more time to get their act together.
The food was awesome . A great cozy place . A must try
Yummy yummy Thai foods 😋🙏
They got morning breakfast menu 👍☕🐿️
Authentic Thai food, flavorful and fresh. Excellent service and nice space.
Great service and very tasty dishes. Loved they served breakfast too!
The food was good for the exception of one dish, it had seafood including pieces of steamed calamari (large chunks difficult to eat), steamed shrimp. They asked how everything was and I shared that it was not good and we barely touched it. They offered a 20% discount rather than removing the total cost. That was disappointing. I would go back but suggest they improve their customer service.
Ordered the Pad Kee Mau, was a bit meh, and overpriced. Family didnt finish most of their food. Would recommend to half the price and half the portion as well so people would stop taking home half their meal.
Overall great atmosphere, very kind service, and lots of tasty food! I got to try their crabby tomyum omelet this morning and it was just right for me. Their garlic sriracha wings were sweet and a bit spicy, the wings were very crispy as well. The inside is super clean too. I will definitely come back here often :)
Love everything about this place. They go beyond the classic Thai menus and come up with delicious choices. From crispy pork belly brunch, Thai tea pancake, pandan waffles, to crab omelet over rice. We love them all!
And the mushroom (side dish) is a must if you’re a mushroom lovers. Sooo good!
Parking can be a challenge but there’s plenty of spots on the back side.
Loved this restaurant. Wonderful staff, food, and service. I will definitely be returning.
Not yet officially open but they definitely have their act together. Stuffed French toast, tofu curry scramble, eggs and bacon all delicious and well prepared. Service was great, very clean and fresh atmosphere. We will be going back for dinner.
Food was super flavorful and delicious. Great friendly service and a very nice atmosphere. Will for sure be our go to Thai spot.
