This is a very nice simple Thai food restaurant. The quality of the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. We ordered three different curries and they were all lovely. The consistency of the Currys is a soup consistency not so much a paste consistency. A little harder for sharing on a plate if you have multiple dishes and you want to rotate them around. The fried spring rolls were totally delicious! It is a small place and the atmosphere was extremely simple but very friendly. The menu had very big writing on it so if you have problems with your vision it was great! Oh one more thing, the bathrooms were exceptionally clean and nice!

The kitchen is on full display and the cooking can be a little loud but it’s part of the experience. Pictured is the sister curry with tofu. The tofu is super soft and they give a VERY healthy portion. I wish I lived here so I could come more often!

Excellent food but they have closed. There is rumor they will be back in 6 to 9 months, in a different location. I sure hope so.

Portion size for the price is bad and half the container was salad which was disappointing. Fresh spring rolls has no tofu in it and very small. Suvahns is way better tasting and better value for the price.

Food was delicious. We got the pad see ew and yellow curry. We don’t eat shell fish so they were very willing to accommodate and cook our food without oyster sauce. And even made recommendations on what to order that would meet our dietary restrictions. Convenient location too. Will visit again!

This has always been my favorite Thai restaurant previously to covid. This time the entrees had smaller amount of vegetables and tiny amount of meat and consisted mostly the sauce. I will go back again because maybe it was an off day or its difficult to gauge the fresh vegetables with not regular traffic due to covid?

I have lived in San Luis Obispo for 10 years as I write this. My wife and I love Thai food and have been to nearly every Thai restaurant in this county, to say nothing of many, many places in around LA, OC and the Bay area, --even places up in Vancouver B. C. The central coast is blessed with a lot of amazing Thai restaurants but when we want the best Thai food in the county (and possibly the state), we will gladly get in our car and drive 15 miles, passing by at least 10 Thai restaurants along the way (including 4 within walking distance from our doorstep) to enjoy the amazingness that is Sister Kitchen. It's the flavor, the freshness of the vegetables, the fact that don't believe the owner has ever missed a day of work in her life and the love that goes into every dish. I recently ordered this Pork Curry dish and it was so good, I literally called them back to let them know how good it was. I've never done that before. The portions are large. I can easily get three meals out of one take-out dish. If you're vegan or vegetarian, they don't skimp on fresh produce either. Sister Kitchen is a treasure in Grover Beach and hopefully it will remain an institution for decades to come.

I had the #21 Khao Soi and it was really good and would definitely get it again.They gave me so much I took almost half home with me for another meal. It's a small place with just a few tables so depending on time of day you may have a wait. Close to Highway 1 and the train station on Grand Ave in Grover Beach.

Will not go back. Ordered Pad Thai, not sure what kind of noodles it was made with, but they were not rice noodles. It was a big mushy mess.

I wish I can say good about the food. The servers were great but the food is awful. We met up in this place because it is half way between places we were coming from. It is a very local place but the taste of the food, the way it was cooked and even the simple presentation was not to our liking.

Spring rolls were greasy but the dipping sauce was good. Soup was VERY watery and you can’t even taste the coconut milk, it just tasted like lime water with mushrooms in it that we paid $22 for cuz we added shrimp. The curry had decent flavor but also very thin and they didn’t give us any rice so we had to make our own at home. Asked for mild so my kids could have some but it was way past mild. Much better places down the road that i’ll be going to in the future.

Nice service and good food but with the 4 dishes we ordered, the protein selected was a very small portion of the dish. Wonton soup with 5 wontons. Beef curry with 75% veggies, etc. Good food. Just... hope they get the portions figured out better or just turn it into vegan food, idk.

I haven't actually dined here, just heard about how good their fried egg rolls are and ordered them to go a couple of times. The last time I ordered through Door Dash I added dumplings. Everything was good, but the dumplings were cold. I'm not sure if they are supposed to be cold, but they still tasted good. I only have it 4 stars because it seems like there has always been a significant wait when I called in an order.

Amazing food

Food is ok, service is great but needs improvement, when we got our drinks i ask for ice tea i did not get sugar or straws until she finally came back by. Food is ok but does not compare to Asian experience, I say this because my wife order the sea food tom yum and it came with previously frozen sea food. The fish pieces tastedvlike cardboard and there was absolutely no flavor at all. All and all is ok if you are in a hurry.

I really liked the sister sauce they use. The chicken wantons were great. I finally got to eat wontons because usually they're filled with some type of shellfish. I also wanted to try the dumplings but found out they had shrimp in them which is not in their description. That's something they're going to have to change because that can be very dangerous for people with allergies. Also had spring rolls which was fried; they tasted good. I had the pad khi mao, it was so much food, very tasty and had a lot of meat in it. It was only halfway through my meal that I realized but I was eating chicken when I had actually ordered pork so that was a bit annoying but it still tasted good. The atmosphere was nice however the whole restaurant seem to be vibrating especially if you sat by the window I'm not sure what was happening that day or if that's something that occurs there all the time.

The BEST Thai food in town! Made fresh right in front of you. You can not go wrong with anything you order. My favorite apps are the dumplings, fresh spring rolls, fried spring rolls. The larb salad is satisfying and filling. The bah mee soup is my absolute favorite meal. The broth is amazing! I order it without noodles and extra veggies and it's completely paleo. Pad Thai, and Pad se yew are the best noodle dishes and all the stri fries are delish. Guy Fieri needs to check out this hometown diner. Always worth the wait.
