I dont know if its just me, but their foods seem really fatty and oily. Felt sick after eating the pork belly. I order some chowmein and it was soggy and oily.

Diner Review №2

The drinks are really good I actually did like that. We got to try fried rice and white rice of course with our meals they tasted phenominal. We tried the sweet orange chicken and I did larb chicken. Now the larb and sweet chicken was a little off maybe over seasoned but our meals was still nice and edible. For the servings it don't look like much at first but I assure you. You're gonna get about 2x the normal serving size so you're gonna be taking half of this home despite this price being high.

Diner Review №3

Disappointing Decline in Quality. I used to love eating here, but sadly, the food quality has gone downhill over the years. My go-to dish, the Thai boat, has lost its rich, bold flavors and now just tastes bland, the pork belly is dry. The egg rolls were another letdown—mostly cabbage with barely any filling, making each bite feel underwhelming. The only saving grace is their chicken, which, thankfully, isn’t dry. Unfortunately, that’s not enough to make up for the overall disappointment. I really hope they bring back the quality that once made this place a favorite.

Diner Review №4

Green curry toooooooooooo salty. Waisted my lunch and my 18$. Food expensive now
But I have to say their fried chicken is very good. Nice sauce.
Won't go back until I forget the saltiness still nimb my tongue.
Not fish sauce salty but plain salt

Diner Review №5

The food was amazing and the staff was amazing. The area was very nice and the parking was amazing too. The place inside was super clean and the girl who upfront was super helpful and very sweet to us. It felt like I was at someone’s house eating with them. I just went there on Super Bowl Sunday for a morning meal with my family. I looked them up online and was surprise how many people enjoyed this place so I had to try them out for myself. My son wanted Panda since he only likes chow mein and orange chicken but I had to try something better. Not only are they better but LA Kitchen cooked up amazing food that my son who is 5 years old almost finished the whole big plate to himself. The staff were amazing and their sticky rice with chicken combo was superb and amazing. Their drinks were also amazing. Thank you for an amazing service and can’t wait to see you guys soon again!!

Diner Review №6

Always a 10/10 ! Great atmosphere. Every time I go my go 2 is the fried sausage w/ sticky rice with a side of the fried chicken and their kaopoon w/ pork belly. With a Thai iced tea 😋😋 my breakfast, lunch. And dinner 🍲
UPDATE: food is is still amazing. Only negative.. their chili sauce isn’t as spicy as it used to be 😭😭its very sweet with mild chili. Only reason i changed to 4 stars

I brought my family for the first time. Unfortunately my kids have food allergies so it has been difficult to find places to eat. Staff were very patient and explained to us what my kids can have.
Food was great and quick service. Will for sure come back again.

Diner Review №9

Thai boat is overly salty, idk how it is so salty. Everything else is ok. Sometimes you get great crispy porkbelly, sometimes you don't. Omg the lao papaya was overly crabby and so much padek. It's all I tasted. It wasn't sweet or sour just salty. I needed lots of water to wash everything afterwards lok But I like thier dipping sauces. I wish the thai boat wasn't so salty.

Our first time here and the staff and food made a great impression! We arrived here after landing in San Fransisco. Food was great and seating was good. If you're looking for a beautiful view and luxurious tables, it's not here.

Seating could be better as we were seated right next to the trash. Hopefully they can either re arrange the trash or seating because there were people throwing away trash next to where we were seated.

Food quality was good! Especially the boat noodles and rice dishes. More than enough to satisfy your cravings and worth the price. The quality of the boat noodles was really delicious and flavorful! You can add as much spice as you'd like to since there are side sauces to add.

Overall, great food quality but the table seating isn't the best but this is an excellent spot for lunch. Would recommend eating here if you're out of town.

If you're a local, read what locals have to say in the reviews.

If I could give a negative 0 I would! My brother found a roach in his spring roll!

Sad to say, this place hasn't been keeping its food up to par. Papaya looks like an inexperienced person making it and kaophoon is a " throw everything in the pot to boil" kind of thing now.

Diner Review №16

I ordered the pad Thai and thought it was alittle pricy, but then I eat the food and it was so good. I had the Thai with crispy pork. Hands down best in town. I'd buy it again

Diner Review №17

The food is great and very affordable. The only thing I don’t love is having to order before sitting down. Other than that, it’s a convenient spot for a quick bite!

Diner Review №18

This place food is so bad I wouldn’t eat it even if it was free lol they also charge you a lot for tiny little portions of food idk how they are still in business or who keeps coming back because I never will they don’t even have real plates they just use plastic bowls

Diner Review №19

Workers will put you on hold and keep taking other customers orders then just hang up on you. Lost a weekly customer. Food quality went down the drain with the service.

Diner Review №20

Don't buy their steamed egg. I just bought mine and the egg is overcooked. I had to toss it away, wasting my $4.99...

Diner Review №21

Kaopiak soup really really good

Diner Review №22

Diner Review №23

Diner Review №24

This is my favorite fried chicken and sticky rice! It is so delicious!

Diner Review №25

Small location, self service on drinks and find your own seating after ordering. Food came out pretty quick didn't take too long, presentation of food dishes looks good, most dishes we ordered tasted great other than one of their famous pho noodle soup (Thai boat) tasted a little too salty that we received. Also they had a lot of pre-cooked side dishes and appetizers on the counter which concern me if it was made fresh or not, pretty sure it is but ill stay away untill i see it come out fresh. I wouldn't mind going back to try other items on the menu cause it's pretty interesting what they have to offer.

Diner Review №26

I bought a full tray of beef laab. The tray was filled with a lot of Romain lettuces and cabbage to make it look full. I pay a lot of money for a full tray, please give me a full tray with lightly lettuce. I was very disappointed.

Diner Review №27

Food was fresh and delicious. Thank you server for taking care of us and your hospitality. Will definitely come back

Over priced for poor quality food. Food tastes crappy. And I wouldn’t bother with their water down noodles.

I love this place. The food is always good. Chicken and Sticky rice are my favorite. I recommend their orange chicken with chow mein. The pho here is so flavorful. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed.

Diner Review №43

Everything we had was delicious! Portion was abundant. We came all the way from Florida and got to meet the amazing owners! We will definitely be back when we visit.

Diner Review №44

Pork belly a hit and miss, some days meat are dry and some days are juicy.

Diner Review №45

LA Kitchen is like the bustling heart of Southeast Asian cuisine in town, with a menu that really shines in its Laotian offerings. Yeah. they've got some Chinese dishes, but let's be honest, there are better places for that in the area. The real magic happens with their fried pork belly pho, egg rolls, and fried chicken. The pho is so rich and dense, it feels like a comforting hug in a bowl—if a hug could also clog your arteries with deliciousness. The egg rolls are crispy perfection, and the fried chicken? Let’s just say, if fried chicken had a fan club, I'd be president (and a great deal).

The service at LA Kitchen is consistently good, even when the place is packed like a clown car. Timing your visit matters; arrive during peak hours, and you'll feel like you're at a concert without a ticket. It's worth it, though—trust me, I've brought so many friends here that they've all started bringing their friends, and now I'm considering charging a finder's fee.

The ambiance at LA Kitchen is cozy and inviting, though it's often as busy as a bee at a flower convention. This place is popular, and for good reason. So, if you're looking for a meal that's worth every minute of the wait, head to LA Kitchen—just maybe keep it on the down-low so we don't have too long of a live out the door.

Diner Review №46

Phast pho! The restaurant is set up for quick turn around. We got some spring rolls but they were pre made with shrimp and beef and just sitting on the counter in 80° heat. As a certified food manager I knew that was against the health code (fresh food like that needs to be refrigerated or kept cold at max 41°F, especially with seafood!).

The beef pho was very good and tasty. It's expensive for a bowl of noodles but they don't skimp on their ingredients. The accompanying sprouts and basil plate was full and fresh. It came with a beef rib, beef balls and a filet.

Best of all the broth was really tasty.

Over all, I would recommend this place, with the caveat that they practiced better food handling safety.

Diner Review №47

Amazing people and amazing people, I would 10/10 recommend

Diner Review №48

Fire food and great prices

Diner Review №49

Diner Review №50

Food is good an authentic. Owner and all employees are very nice and cordial. Family owned small business

Diner Review №51

Kind and welcoming staff. Love the food here. So glad that they have 2 locations. Highly recommend. You won't regret it. Prices are very resonable for portion size.

Diner Review №52

Diner Review №53

I loveeee this place !!!!! Pho is so so good they have all the right sauces 🍜😘

Diner Review №54

Very good tasty and with lots of ingredients. A+

Diner Review №55

I always get chicken and rice. I got something else for my mom and the total came to $25.98. The cashier guy only charged me $25.00 and said it is fine. Been coming here for about 2 years now.

Diner Review №56

I Picked up my order. I had pork belly sticky rice. It was too oily. The spring rolls were not as good either. The papaya salad was ok. The only thing was good and perfect was the sticky rice. Months ago they cooked their food way better. I think they changed their chefs.

Diner Review №57

This review goes towards the Thai Boat Noodles. I remember a time when these noodles were really good. Good ratios of beef, crispy pork. Now, it's just overcharred pork belly with a sad piece of beef patty, some tripe and a couple of meatballs. What's worst is that you charge almost 20 bucks per bowl! That's pretty outrageous. Maybe shorten your menu items so you can focus on the quality of your star dishes. I'd be willing to give this place one more try but if things don't get better, will probably not be coming back.

Update: This picture is what I remembered when it was 🔥.

Diner Review №58

Order the Thai boat noodle and it was trash. Tasted so bad that it literally ruin my day. It doesn’t even taste like Thai boat. Such a disappointment and they charge $20 too. I should have gotten something else.
The people, service and atmosphere was wonderful, just wish they had real thai boat and not some fake pho and called it Thai boat.

Diner Review №59

It was a new place that a cousin introduced me to. I enjoyed everything about it. Service is welcoming, the place was nice and clean alot of sitting room. Self serve your own drinks and the attention of the front desk cashier was very nice.

Diner Review №60

Great food, shareable portions, self serve water. Pay, eat, leave.

Diner Review №61

This is actually a 3.5 star rating, for lack of half stars, i'll round it up to 4. The food here is good and portioned for one person. If you're not used to Lao style Pho, the broth can be a bit sweeter than the Vietnamese Pho; I honestly can't tell if it's sugar or MSG. The pork belly is good to try if you're into greasy fat pork. Other dishes that I've had here are the Larb, chicken, and fried rice (with coconut?). This is an order, pay, and then sit kind of restaurant.

Diner Review №62

Love the Kao piak noodle soup, the noodle taste smooth and chewy, the chicken soup base also tastes light but very flavorful, highly recommended! The fried pork belly is crispy but not dry. Thai boat noodle is just average. Overall, the food is pretty good and have some new cuisine experience.

Diner Review №63

Diner Review №64

Diner Review №65

Pretty solid food! Got the beef pho, orange chicken, fried rice, fried chicken and sticky rice. All items were served perfectly! Delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try more!

The only negative is the place was packed and it was hard to find a place to sit.

Diner Review №66

I ordered the larb- it was so tasteful and good came out rarely fast. Love this place!

Diner Review №67

Chicken and sticky rice is bomb.

Diner Review №68

If you buy heavenly beef here please ask for less crispy. To my surprise, as the restaurant became more popular their quality changed in their food. When I first bought their heavenly beef it was cooked perfectly, but this past 3 months they cook it to where it’s so hard that you can’t bite through the meat. I gave them a couple more tries thinking that maybe there was a cooker in the process of training, but it still continues. So now I ask for them to do it less crispy, even a couple of times of asking for less crispy they tend to still give the meat burnt. I dined in once and received the order cooked exactly how it did the first couple of times that I bought from them. So I decided to dine in for food oppose to taking it home, for better quality. Today, we dinned in and I asked for less crispy, yet they brang it out very burnt, and because they were so busy I got less than what I usually do for this order. My usu and and I are foodies and we’ve ordered almost everything on their menu. Unfortunately, this restaurant has become inconsistent with the taste of their food and sadly they’ve give less. Their food isn’t cheap, which I respect if I’m given a good amount of portions to measure up to the price, but this is no longer the case. Hopefully they read their reviews and can take into consideration and receive constructive criticism, and not become like other restaurants who become very popular and loose their passion for food in exchange for meeting high demand and loosing sight of good quality in food. Also, food Is recooked if not sold that day. Food can be cooked in the morning and sold mid day. If chicken is black and wrinkly looking, they recooked it or put it in the microwave.

Overcrowed

Diner Review №77

They were bad service, and they were rude, then ask me to sit down to serve made me wait for 5 minutes then tell me too get in line to order when they saw me walk in

Diner Review №78

Diner Review №79

They have one of the best Thai boat noodles.

Diner Review №80

We had a hankering for egg rolls and found LA Kitchen. A bit of a drive from our local, but so worth it. Papaya salad was crisp, flavorful and served Thai spicy as requested. The pork belly was layers of crispy, juicy, and melt in your mouth piggy. My daughter said the chow mein was the best ever and I must concur. The veggies and noodles were perfectly cooked, so that the texture and bounce remained. I also appreciated them delivering each dish as soon as they were prepared.

Diner Review №81

Dishes taste average at best.
In an already small container, portions are disguised to look good.
A piece of lettuce was folded and put under the laab to bulk it up, the actual amount was small (see picture).
Very average, not sure what all the buzz is about. Probably once or twice a year visit or in dire want of Asian food. Won't miss it, better options closer to where I live. My laab was way too bitter, spices were not balanced.

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

Unacceptable. My laab tray was consisted of 80 percent lettuce and 20 percent meat. Not coming back.

Diner Review №84

This has got to be one of the best restaurants of its kind that I have been to in recent memories. The food it great. It was jammed packed and we had to weight a bit but it was well worth it. This is probably ome of the better Asian restaurants in Fresno. Totally worth it at the end.

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №86

Tasty Asian food and great service. Highly recommend!

Diner Review №87

The food is good but ordering through the phone is a nightmare made me not not want to even go into the restaurant anymore.

Diner Review №88

This restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes such as spring rolls, chicken and rice, and good soups. The bean sesame balls are also a great addition to the menu. The portions are generous and the teas are well-made. Additionally, the service is commendable.

Diner Review №89

Great local joint

Diner Review №90

Diner Review №91

I love the Salmon larb with sticky rice. My daughter's really like the Thai tea.

Diner Review №92

Diner Review №93

It's a really small place. Self-service. The pho is not worth it. It was very small and the beef tasted more like grounded beef than real beef. The food has a sweet taste to it. Everything from the pho to the chicken is sweet.

I don't get the hype on this place, food was mediocre. I tried the fried chicken, pork belly, beef jerky, chowmein. I live out of town now and everyone in fresno kept mentioning this place. Total disappointment. If I still lived in Fresno, I wouldn't recommend this place

Diner Review №100

Very good food there and the place pretty busy at times

Diner Review №101

This place got to have the best Thai and lao food in the area...... except Papaya salad hehe. Everything else is a wet dream come true. So good and yummy. Come in, order your dish, pay for it, take a seat. Food come out instantly. The fried pork belly is so good but the pepper is the star. So good. I don't even like fat. This changed my taste bud. The fruit naa vaam is something must try.

Diner Review №102

First time here. Reasonable prices, large portions, good food. Each meal was enough for two people. Fast service. Nice people. I only took one star off because I noticed it was a little dirty, walking in, for a fairly new establishment. Otherwise, overall experience was good. Will come back and try other stuff.

Diner Review №103

The chicken is good, the egg rolls were decent, and the fried rice was average.

Diner Review №104

Place multiple plater trays of food. Really good customer service. But after I ate the food. I started to have a stomach ache. The fried rice was very clumpy. Was very disappointed.

Diner Review №105

I’ve been here multiple times and the food and service has always been good. I like to get the fried pork belly and fried chicken. Their Thai tea is always good and so is the sugar cane drink. Their other dishes are also delicious. Overall, would recommend to anyone who wants some Asian food.

Diner Review №106

Diner Review №107

Always my go to place to eat. Kaopiak special is absolutely delicious as well chicken and sticky rice. I always get egg rolls and side of fried sausage with my order. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend. Watch out on the chili oil because it is HOTT and good flavor

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

Diner Review №110

The food was great and the service was even better. It was a little pricey coming in at ~$44 after tax for 2 meals no drinks but the portions were large. We didn't finish our food, brought it back home and will definitely get another meal out of it. Highly recommend!

I also made a Togo order and mistakenly ordered #60 instead of #61, they made the change with no hassle. We will definitely be back!

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

Food was excellent and the service was the same would recommend.....

Diner Review №113

It’s really hot inside the restaurant and seating is limited. I ordered the pork belly & sticky rice. The pork belly was not seasoned well and had no taste. Was looking forward to the dipping sauce that came with the pork belly but it sucked too, was more on the sweet side. I also got the beef pho. Broth was decent, but the beef flank I got was not an edible size. It’s as if someone forgot to slice it and just tossed a whole entire flank, bigger than the size of my hand into the pho. This made it hard to enjoy the “beef pho” when you can’t even eat the beef.
On the bright side, the pork belly was a big serving; can probably be shared with 2 people.

Diner Review №114

Order the Pad Thai and it was the worse pad Thai I have ever had. I was dried, it had no flavor, and most of the noddles were clumped up.. I’m so disappointed in the flavor and consistency of the noddles.

Diner Review №115

Diner Review №116

If dining in, you order first then seat yourself. There are free water cups (self-served). They have pre-packaged food and you can order of menu. Quantity of food is ok for price. We ordered 3 items and spent around $40. I've had better raw beer larb but do recommend their salmon larb. The egg noodle doesn't taste like it's supposed to, haven't found any comparable to homemade. Service is quick and attentive. Parking is not a problem.

Diner Review №121

The food was surprisingly great!! We stopped here on our way to sequoia national park and were very pleased with the portion size and taste! It's a cuisine between Cambodia and Thai from Laos.

The ground chicken was very yummy and spicy - they've different spice levels. Red curry was not like Thai red curry and we loved the flavor.

Overall great food and staff.

Great food. Sweet and spicy chicken and stickyvrice was my order. Very fast pace at lunch but line moves quick also

Diner Review №125

Good area, cleaner than the other asian restaurants, and good menu selection. However rices are alittle higher than your other Asian restaurants with similar food items.

Diner Review №126

A regular spot for us because of how delicious and authentic everything is!
Mama is awesome, family oriented and always engages with our little ones.

We take everyone there and they all come back for 2nds!

Diner Review №127

We always get takeout from here. This order was less food and the chicken was very dry and did not have enough sauce to cover half a chicken piece. Please keep your food quality/quantity the same. We love this spot, but will stop purchasing if food quality/quantity decreases. Also, not sure if the chicken pieces were recooked because it did not taste fresh.

First time eating here and it was AMAZING!! Can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!!

It's ok. The kaopoon was ok, not my favorite. The boat noodle was ok. The fried chicken was ok. They do have a variety of choices. I was happy that they actually have sugarcane drink but mine tasted a little sour. Not sure if I just got a bad sugarcane or not.

Diner Review №141

Except for the crispy pork belly, I highly recommend every dish at this restaurant. While I usually opt for the pork belly, I have found that it tastes stale if I order it past noon. Instead, I suggest trying it fresh in the morning.

Aside from that, the food here is absolutely delicious with a wide range of flavors to choose from. You won't be let down with their offerings, and the staff are incredibly accommodating and efficient. If I order a full course meal, I receive my food in under fifteen minutes.

Diner Review №142

Food is decent.. The cook made my order super wrong. asked for chicken and no bean sprout got beef and bean sprouts.Felt like my food was made out of left overs. also noticed a peice of hair in food while eating . came here bc it’s close to me and probably won’t come again . The cashier is nice

Diner Review №147

Everyone has their food preferences. To me, the food was way too sweet. Here's what we got and the raiting based on my taste.

Thai boat- 3 out 5. Too sweet. The meat portion was plentiful though.

Pad thai- 2 out 5. Too sweet again. Not very flavorful. I think the tofu made it taste strange.

Sausage with rice- 4 out 5. Probably the best dish we had. The Sausage was juicy.

Papaya salad- 2 out of 5. Too sweet again.

Overall, it wasn't too bad. Everything seems to taste really sweet which isn't my liking. Probably won't be back but it was nice to try something new. I like the self serve stations.

Diner Review №148

Everything is perfect, the food, customer service EVERYTHING!!! I live nowhere near this restaurant but I somehow end up there almost every other night. And the nights I don't it's because I had to talk myself out of making that drive. I couldn't cook anything this delicious if the chef in the back handed me the recipe themselves. DElicious straight up delicious sometimes I have to hold back my intrusive thoughts of going back there and hugging every single one of them.

Diner Review №160

The food was mediocre. The times we went there to eat, we had to wait at least an hour or so for food to come. I had to keep on asking to cashier when is our food coming. She seemed visibly annoyed but I can understand why. I'm not sure how many people are working in the kitchen but that was too long a wait for just 4 items we ordered. The price we paid for the portion we got was definitely not worth it. A lot of items on the menu are overpriced.

Diner Review №161

It’s hard to find authentic Thai/Laos food and this place did it well! Super delicious. Probably going to be my new favorite lunch spot!! Also the customer service was astounding!

My first time here, the food was delicious. We ordered Kapoon, fried pork belly, and Kopiak. The Kapoon and Kopiak had tons of flavor. I like spicy so I added a bunch of chili oil to my kopiak. The fried pork belly melted in my mouth. The pepper/ sauce that came with it was good. Overall, it was like eating a home-cooked meal from mom. Yes, I would definitely come back when I'm in town.

great food, I drive from visalia weekly just to eat here

We tried LA’s kitchen for the first time today with my daughter. Great restaurant, clean, & authentic Lao food. We ordered the Kao Piek (handmade noodles/Lao chicken noodle soup) special with deep fried pork belly for the winter season. If you are a foodie, you have to try this place! 😋

Food was good, people were friendly. Little pricey.

One of my favorite places for pho. Place is clean. Pay for your food first, sit down, and leave whenever. Takes all payments. Pho broth is excellent. Rich and dark. Great condiments. Oyster/Hoisen, Sriracha, Spicy Oil Pepper, Pepper, Fish Sauce. Plus, Peanuts!

Diner Review №176

Tried the pho here and it was uniquely flavored in the best ways possible. There's an enticing menu with a small indoor seating area. Everything looks really good and the prices are fair.

This is absolutely my new favorite asian restaurant in town, totally a must have. The family that owns the place make everyone feel like they're at home and they're just so incredibly kind. The food is so fresh and everything appears to be made from scratch. Definitely mist come try this place!!!

Diner Review №182

Love their crispy pork belly, but it can be a hit or miss when you go. Literally, this is my second time getting their crispy pork belly that tastes hard and dry like it’s been sitting there for hours…

They have one of the best Thai boat.

Diner Review №189

Kapoon, thai boat, asian sausage, pork belly, and laab salad are bomb. The other dishes were okay not to my taste. I Go there often when i crave for the items i listed. Love the pickled thai peppers to throw in my thai boat, one of the reasons i go there for.

Authentic Lao food in a contemporary setting. Most of the food is pre-made so it's a great option for take-out.

Diner Review №194

Love this place, food is delicious , my favorite dish is the sticky rice with chicken and the egg rolls. The pork belly with sticky rice and chile is so delicious as well.
