Food was delicious, came quickly and was served on beautiful plates. The waitress was extremely hospitable—even bowing as she served us. The parking is a little inconvenient. The outside of the restaurant doesn’t look great, but the interior is fine. Highly recommend.

Diner Review №2

This is my absolute favorite “mom and pop” shop. Love the food, and love the workers even more. Every visit feels like I’m getting home cooked comfort food. Love love love!

Diner Review №4

Great food and cozy atmosphere with very friendly staff that make you want to come back over and over.

Diner Review №5

The food here is consistent and delicious. We order to-go often. Always hot and delightful once home. The pineapple fried rice is my go-to, it has big bites of tomato, broccoli, and onion. I order with the tofu because the chicken was a bit dry for me. My partner gets the red curry chicken with Thai spice. All the appetizers are great. You can’t go wrong with this menu. More importantly, the staff here are hard-working and sweet.

Great food and service

Diner Review №8

From the first visit, I knew this was our new go-to since Up2U Thai in Alameda changed ownership some time ago and I was so so sad that my people were gone. But this place and the staff is awesome. The lady that helped us over the phone and in person was so sweet. I said I usually get thai iced tea but did absolutely not need any more caffeine that day, and she gave me a kid's cup to go. She's like, "Here, this is for tomorrow!" On the house. Whether or not they were doing so much because we were new, or they're just nice all the time, it hit me and I'm a fan. The food also is so tasty- not too salty, not bland, just right and nice and hot and fresh. Thank you!!!

Diner Review №9

This is a great place with really good food and wonderful service!

Diner Review №10

1st time here, just walking in smelled delicious. It was during dinner rush, so I waited a few minutes to be seated. Great menu. I wanted to try everything. I had the fresh rolls with shrimp. The peanut sauce was amazing. Also, I had the chicken pad thai very tasty, and it's definitely a sharing dish. For dessert, I had mango and sticky rice yummy. I will return to try the rest of the menu. For my gluten-free people, I did see a menu for you. I am not gluten-free.

Diner Review №11

We like the fried wide rice noodles with any of the meats/ veggies and the BBQ chicken was a very good meal. We usually get the fried spring rolls for appetizer. The proportions are large so sharing is a good idea unless you want leftovers.

Diner Review №12

Service is great, the waitress is friendly and did very well. The atmosphere is decorated for the holidays, clean and cozy. The problem is solely with the food. I ordered a yellow curry which was very watery and bland, the potatoes were not cooked, carrots were hard, onions still had that crispy crunch to it (which if you know curry, that is not a good thing). We also had the chicken wings, which were overcooked and bland. I feel bad leaving such a harsh review but to be completely honest, the food was terrible. They have potential but maybe this is the constructive criticism they need to flourish. I wish them well!

Diner Review №13

Food was subpar at best. Curry was way too soupy, the spicy rice was too sweet, and i asked for Thai Hot. Just not impressed.

Thai is my favorite cuisine and this place never disappoints. I have yet to find a better thai restaurant in the bay area and even in the US. The tom yum soup is top notch. Their pad thai is incredible. The only complaint I have is that they can never manage to make the food spicy enough, but to be fair, nobody is able to make it spicy enough for me.

Diner Review №20

This place is pleasantly surprising us every time we go there. They invest in silverware and plates, food is exceptional and the service is great. It's not the best part of the town but this place is a gem. Thanks for staying in business all these years. Highly recommend.

第一次来这家泰国餐厅。小小一家店。停车有点难,食物不错。服务很热情非常好!和朋友吃得很快乐。

I tried Top Thai Restaurant again after 2 years, as it used to be my favorite Thai spot. This time, I ordered Fresh Rolls, Spicy Fried Rice, and Thai Iced Tea. The Fresh Rolls used to be outstanding, worthy of 5 stars by themselves, but this time the rice roll was too hard and chewy, making it difficult to eat. The Fried Rice had an unusual color I haven't seen at any Thai restaurant before, and the taste was awful. While the Thai Iced Tea was good, the main dishes were really disappointing.

The Thai food is so freaking good, honestly the best in the bay! Very generous portions of food I was shocked. Especially with cost of food going up I think this place really sets themselves apart in terms of cost and quality. And they are so friendly. This is our new favorite restaurant

Diner Review №34

This is my absolute favorite restaurant, and I've been coming for years. The service is outstanding and the food is just as great. This is where I come when I'm looking for that "home cooked meal" type feeling, because they make you feel like family every time you're here.

Food wise I'm very repetitive in what I order, because I love it that much. I typically get the panang curry, or the yellow curry, the satay chicken(peanut sauce is so yum!), and the thai iced tea (extra yum!!)

Diner Review №35

Diner Review №36

YUM YUM . can't go wrong, this is the place.

Diner Review №37

The lady with short hair who serves food in and out of the kitchen is very rude. She profiled me while I was waiting for a pick up by telling me to wait outside because apparently I make the business look bad. The lady at the cashier counter who takes your order is very nice and sweet but the other lady wasn’t. Poor experience👎

Diner Review №38

Authentic Thai Delight in the USA

On my first day in US, I recently dined at a Thai restaurant, Top Thai Cuisine and it was truly sensational. The Tom Kha soup was reminiscent of Bangkok's streets, while the Woonsen Pad Thai was a perfect balance of flavors. The Fried Trout boasted a delightful crunchiness and mouthwatering (my no.1fav) , while the Chicken with Basil was impeccably cooked, and the mango sticky rice dessert was heavenly. Washing it down with a refreshing coconut drink from the fruit, made the experience even better. With impeccable service and authentic flavors, this restaurant exceeded expectations. Hopefully, one day soon, we'll be able to enjoy such a culinary gem closer to home 🇳🇿 . Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Thai cuisine and we will come back again. 6 out of 5 stars 🌟

This is a true gem in Castro Valley. The staff are very friendly and the food is great. We typically order to go. However, we have also dined in a few times, and the atmosphere is casual and nicely decorated. We enjoy the Satay Chicken with peanut sauce, Yellow curry chicken, Mun Tod with plum sauce, and Pad See Ew.
I would recommend this place to anyone that like good Thai food.

Diner Review №41

Not bad at all!

Diner Review №42

I have been coming to this place for over 10 years and have never had an issue. The food always hits and it's pretty consistent, which is hard to find now a days. The customer service is always great and the owners are so sweet! Their lunch menu is such a good deal and the portions at dinner are perfect. Be aware that there isn't much parking right in front of the place and do NOT be that person who parks on the sideway like a dummy, there is parking on the side streets.

Diner Review №43

Diner Review №44

Great food and service as always!!! This is a must try. I've been coming here for years and I'm still impressed with the food and service.

Diner Review №45

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area.

My go to dishes that are always delicious and on point are:
Panang beef
Tom kha ( have it with some 🍚 rice in the soup... so good! )
Yellow curry and the crispy shrimp.

The servers are so sweet. Love this spot!

Diner Review №49

My first time ordering from this restaurant. I called to place an order for pick up and was put on hold for 5 mins before taking my order. She did say they were very busy and it will be 30 min wait for food. When I came by food had just came out. She upgraded my thai tea to a large one for being on hold over the phone. I'm very thankful as the thai tea was very good! I ordered pad se ew and pineapple Fried Rice as recommend by the reviews. The pad see ew did not disappoint, great flavors and texture. On the other hand, pineapple Fried Rice was pretty bland. There were no utensils included but luckily I have some in my car. I did have trouble finding parking. There was only two spots right in front of restaurant and if you're not familiar with the location, you will miss the turn in. The side street parking was hard to find also. I did get lucky and saw someone leave in the neighborhood so I was able to take their spot.

Diner Review №50

If you’re not experienced in Thai food, you might really enjoy it. Pricing is fair, but if you know your Thai, you might want to try another place. Strength in flavors were a bit weak…Not bad…just nothing particularly good about it.

Diner Review №51

Diner Review №52

Can't complain about the food quality for this price range. The only headache for this restaurant is the parking. Parking is horrible during peak dinner rhr.

Diner Review №53

Great food and friendly service

Diner Review №54

Our favorite restaurant in the bay. They go out of their way to provide the best service even when they're slammed and everything we've tried on the menu during our two dozen visits has been phenomenal. I recommended Top Thai to all my family and friends in the area. Love this spot!

Diner Review №55

Very good food. Good value and tasty.

Diner Review №56

Definitely I'll come back for the coconut lemongrass soup, Tom Kha with shrimp. Been to so many places in Hayward and Castro Valley that just can't get this soup right , but Top Thai is DELICIOUS...super flavorful. It's on the thicker side not too thin just like I like it, creamy and yummy. Also the Pad See Ew, absolutely delicious. Oh my gosh the noodles are soft & chewy and yummy! sauce is amazing the beef was a tad chewy. I do have one complaint and that is the Pumpkin Curry was so thin it was more like soup and the Pumpkin itself was not cooked enough it also felt like it wasn't ripe enough it didn't have that slightly sweet flavor was more hard & chalky. It was also really small portion and the chicken was hard. Basically, we threw out the chicken. I saw that someone else complained about the chicken being tough. I'd say tenderize it in some way or used dark meat because it was not good. The shrimp were amazing the beef was okay I would get anything but chicken. But overall it was great in the atmosphere is really good the people are so sweet. Maybe they have an off day with that Pumpkin Curry.

Diner Review №57

The food was good, but the chicken in the dishes needed more flavor

Diner Review №58

Diner Review №59

This is our go-to Thai spot in Castro Valley. The food is delicious every time and they have lots of gluten free options for my wife. The staff is friendly and we usually call ahead to order take out and eat it at home. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and usually there are seats open. Our favorite dishes include pumpkin curry, pad Thai and pad see ew. I appreciate that the menu is clearly labeled with which items can be made gluten free and the staff is also knowledgeable about this. Parking is limited so try around the corner in the neighborhood if there isn't a spot out front. Enjoy!

Diner Review №65

Love this place. The people are so nice. The food is great. Love the Thai tea.

Diner Review №66

Thought I'd try a new Thai restaurant and the food I received is partly why I stick to my regular Thai restaurants.

My pad Thai had little flavor, dry and I asked for spicy and they literally threw chillies in a corner not mixing it in with the noodles.

Ordered chicken satay which was bland and sour. There was no coconut curry taste to it.

Hope they can do better

Diner Review №67

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Super friendly staff and the orders come out quick. Food is delicious and always fresh. Prices are about what you’d expect. A very good value for the money. Only downside is parking is limited. But it’s worth it.

Diner Review №75

Such a lovely spot in CV! The service was incredible, I didn’t get her name but she was so attentive and kind. The atmosphere was great too, fun decorations and a beautiful cityscape of Thailand.

The food though! SO good! We had a huge order to share and everything we had was incredible. The shrimp appetizer was new to me but so delicious! Crunchy, flavorful, and not too heavy. Tom kha gai was so creamy and addictive. The cashew chicken, and Thai basil stir fry dishes were so flavorful and perfect with rice. Yellow curry and the pad Thai were also delicious and well-balanced. The pineapple fried rice was good, but not the standout.

Overall, I ate way too much here but it was too easy. Everything was great.

Can’t wait to come back!

Diner Review №77

BEST Thai food in Castro Valley and beyond.

Diner Review №78

Ordered delivery. Had the fresh rolls with shrimp and green chicken curry. Very tasty!

Diner Review №79

Visited here for lunch the other day. You have to remember they open at 1130am (not 11am), like most restaurants do. Small, narrow seating with two sides open. I had their lunch special Pad Thai w/chicken ($11.50). It was served in a huge (high-sided) bowl. I could not finish it and I have a healthy appetite. Noodles were good/well cooked, lots of chicken pieces & tofu and although I asked for it hot, it was not that hot. Waitress gave me a hot chili tray, which you spice to taste. Most of the chilis in the tray were just OK, they didn't seem that fresh. The dish tasted above average and it was served piping hot (right out of the wok). Waitress was very friendly/nice, even though I had to ask her to fill my water glass 2x. I was the only one eating.

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because this place is really just OK, nothing special. Decent, for Castro Valley (we have 2 Thai places). This place is about the same as the other one. Although, the other Thai place gives you/free, a salad and an iced tea as part of your meal (and they are slightly less expensive/by .50 cents per plate). You can't go wrong eating at either place.

I rate Thai places compared to "Sala Thai" in Fremont (which is my favorite, although my last visit there was "disappointing"). This place (like the other one in CV) is about a star below that location for the food and about the same for service. Try them both and see which one you prefer. It's a push/tie for me.

Diner Review №80

The TOP Thai cuisine! Always great service and food!

Diner Review №81

Why is the food sweet? There's no spice whatsoever, this is not what Thai food is supposed to taste like!

Diner Review №82

Love this place! One of CV's hidden gems.

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Good portions, pad thai with chicken was okay.. It was a little dry.
Wonton soup though, that flavor is amazing.

Diner Review №85

I placed a take out order for Pad-ke-mao noodles spicy. I did not expect from an authentic Thai restaurant to dump red chilies on some parts of noodles to make noodles spicy, some were very spicy and others were not. Authentic Thais do not dump ground red chilies to make food spicy. Authentic Thai lady serving in the restaurant is always very nice and polite that's why I gave 3 stars.

Diner Review №86

YOU MUST TRY THIER STUFF CHICKEN WINGS

Diner Review №98

Excellent service and the best tasting food in Castro Valley!

Diner Review №99

Unfortunately we did enjoy this place but the last few times it was less than stellar. Their pad thai is bland and when I called they say to specify extra sauce. That shouldn’t be the case at all and they wouldn’t replace the entree. Other times entrees specified to Be gluten free was not and allergic reactions followed. The manager lady is very rude and abrupt and argumentative. The other two servers who are female were always kind but the boss needs customer service 101 lessons. When we order the eggplant dish they don’t cook the eggplant well and it’s hard. Happened at least three times. You can’t get a word In or make suggestions because the manager will interrupt u and talk over u like she’s an auctioneer. I’m disheartened to leave this review. We won’t be going there anymore and to think I took many of my friends here.

Perhaps the best Thai food in the East Bay, certainly Castro Valley, not cheap, but reasonable.

Diner Review №110

Diner Review №126

Diner Review №127

Quality food! Gracious and efficient servers. If you like Thai food I think you'll really enjoy Top Thai.

Diner Review №128

I ordered a salmon dish without the eggplant, the dish had eggplant in it (good thing I'm not allergic to)and the salmon was burnt. My husband ordered the fried rice with beef, that had no flavor and tasted as if they added sugar. The puffed curry tasted as if sugar were added, no curry flavor at all. The thai iced tea tasted moldy, we didn't finish anything we ordered. Total waste of money. We normally go to Pad Thai further up the street. Will never go back.

Diner Review №129

They sit the people behind me first that's not nice
Not coming back

Diner Review №130

Love this place. I first went here about 8 years ago when I lived in Castro Valley. A friend recommended it and I cant speak more highly of this place. From the friendly staff and great food you cant beat it. I just went there after and wanted to stop and get something to eat so glad the place is still there and still awesome. Highly recommend

Diner Review №131

Average food. Good people. Hot ambiance.

Diner Review №132

Diner Review №133

Ordered Pad kee mao , it was very oily, oil dripping with every bite. The taste was bland, even vegetables were not chewable.
Won't order again.

Diner Review №134

best thai in castro valley!

Diner Review №135

This unassuming hole in the wall with terrible parking is a hidden gem of high quality Thai food. I was blown away with how friendly and generous the hosts / servers were and how amazing the food tasted. I eat Thai food often and this place easily won my heart. I got the Pad Sew Ew with Pork (medium spicy) and it was perfection. The spring rolls were crispy and tasty as well. Highly recommend this place, it is worth struggling to find parking for.

Diner Review №136

Unprofessional stuff and takes for ever
Never again

Diner Review №137

I like this place. It's got a good menu and the food is excellent

Diner Review №138

Delicious & Fresh

Diner Review №139

Good, fresh food that doesn't feel heavy. Thai iced tea comes with their lunch specials. Vegetarian options are available too.

Diner Review №140

This place Amazing, am glad my wife choose this after very long drive from point reyes national seashore. We ordered spicy fried rice(must try) and pad ke mao. Quantity is good for the price.

Diner Review №141

Bring Cash, visited here while visiting the local hospital. The food was so good and fresh. The Thai Tea was Delicious. :)

Diner Review №142

I love their food and service, so does my young son. We are vegetarians and our favorites are the amazing fresh rolls w peanut sauce, the green curry, the drunken noodles (pad kee mao), the tom kha, the fried tofu, the eggplant, the basil, the cashew queen and the hot tea. They also serve fresh young coconuts (off menu), and mango sticky rice! During busy times there can be a wait but it is worth waiting for! We also like Sala Thai in Fremont, but Top Thai is often closer and is as good!

Diner Review №143

My boyfriend and I come here all the time. The food is always great and comes out quick. We take turns ordering and haven't had anything we didn't like. Make sure to ask for the hot sauce/spice caddy, a great finishing touch to any item. We always see the same lady working and she is the sweetest person ever! You always hear her chatting with the customers, it's so nice to see her connection with people who frequent the restaurant. We always look for her when we first come in, she greets you like family!

Diner Review №144

Delicious. Prompt service. Very much enjoyed. Doesn't look like much but very good.

Diner Review №145

I only came here because a) Pad Thai Cuisine was closed, and b) I wanted angel wings, which PTC removed from their menu.

The angel wings were bland, bland, bland. The fresh rolls weren't, and the rest of the food was mediocre. Don't think I'll be returning soon.

BTW, I've heard they've changed ownership so this may be the reason of their having gone downhill.

Diner Review №154

I’m going to echo the many bad reviews. I hate doing this to a small business but they seriously have to step it up.

The get 1 star because the lady that serves us was very sweet. I wish we would choose to go back just for that. But no.

We walked in with no hello or I’ll be there in a moment, nothing. Weird but ok. Then we finally get seated and the other lady just threw the menus on the table and left. No water or a greeting. Again strange. But if the reviews looked great then why not try.
We really did try to like this place but their food had no taste like they forgot to add seasoning to everything we ordered. To be fair the pictures looked good so we assumed we’d be eating some flavorful thai food. Nope, a huge disappointment starting with the super dry and cheap jasmine rice. It’s not quality white rice. Yukk! Then the tasteless fried trout. What’s up with the no salt and pepper at the least! Then some watery or soup like sauce was offered with it which also had very minimal taste almost without salt too! The basil chicken with super rubbery chicken and again not seasoned enough. Like no soy sauce or anything salty. The pumpkin curry I requested with softer pumpkin but they just didn’t listen and served some hard pumpkin anyway. That was ok cause it was sweet. Then the noodles had giant unchopped Bokchoy and giant broccoli pieces.

Diner Review №155

The food here is fantastic and the family who runs it so nice.

Diner Review №156

I was just around without a precise plan to have lunch outside so I thought I wanted something quick. However come on, why not have Thai which I haven't had for a few years now. My wife looked up on maps and we found this place kind of randomly. It is in fact in a pretty convenient location. From the outside, nothing special I thought. I found the inside pretty cozy, with character. It took a little for our order to be taken but the food was delicious, very good. We were even given an extra roll for the wait, we appreciated it. The soup was very good. I know they also do takeout and participate to those services where a driver picks up your meal and takes it to your place. I instead believe the food should be eaten in the proper way at the restaurant and I had a very good time here. Unfortunately I don't recall exactly the name of the products we ordered so I attach the pictures here

Diner Review №157

Diner Review №167

Food was delicious and you get a lot for your money. My friend an I went and got 3 dished we took home the major of 2 dishes and I can eat off that for at least 2-3 more meals. The service was great and the space was clean. My only concern was that there were quite a few people there dinning in and all of them were packed into the front room. There wasn't a whole lot of social distancing going on and masks were off to eat. I just mention this because there is a whole other side of the restaurant that could have been used to sit people farther apart. I am sure they had their reasons though. Great place! Great atmosphere! Great food! So no stars removed for the pandemic fail. Worth it.

Diner Review №177

One of the best Thai restaurants ever. I was nicely surprised to find this fantastic place with excellent service and yummy food in Castro Valley after 7 years of living in NYC.

Diner Review №178

Horrible waitress! I kept telling her that the police dispatcher had told me that I don't need permission to enter a business to borrow a phone to call the cops. SHe kept interrupting the call and telling me that I can't. Then, took the phone away to speak to dispatcher. Bad attitude w/anger issues that one. SHe said customers were calling, but they weren't and they had 3 other phones! THen, she told me the police is coming here to speak to me. I told her that what she said didn't make sense. "THat's never happened before," was what I also said. She just left and I left that damn place! She obviously lied because a cop drove by almost immediately after w/o stopping.

So grateful this place is yummy and close to home. I really don't eat restaurant food very often, and I'm a wayward picky pescatarian, but you bet I'll be coming back here regularly. Highly recommend. 👍🏼👍🏼

Everything was super good and affordable. The service was amazing even though they were short staffed for the evening. I have to mention that because it was impressive seeing one person literally doing it all! Top Thai is definitely on my rotation.

This place used to be my go to place for Thai food in Castro Valley... then a few years back I think they changed owners or something, everything got more expensive and they gave smaller portions (the food quality was still more or less okay).

I tell this to everyone that asks, but if you're feeling Thai, I would recommend the place a few blocks down. It's cheaper, bigger portions, and, imho, tastes the same if not better (keeping my comparisons reserved in case it's my wallet talking and not me :3).

Very tasty Panang curry with brown rice. Have eaten here several times a year for 5 years. Other dishes fairly good to very good, nice people..

4 ate. 6 dishes. All good.

Delicious food. Three or four groups of people were eating indoors without masks, separated from each other by a few feet only. The food was delicious, beginning with the Thai iced tea. The service felt slow to begin with, and I noticed the people after us were also a bit impatient to be served. But once we were served all the food came at once, and it was worth the wait.

The lady at the front was so nice. She probably sense that I walked to get the food and saw my bullet sweat so she treated me to a nice yummy and creamy Thai tea (change my mind and was going to order but she beat me to it. THANK you lady!) Customer service and humanity at it's finest! Simple gesture but truly much appreciated.

This is our first time ordering from this restaurant as we had just recently moved to Hayward. And man! This was by far, one of the most delicious thai food we have had, and we've tried a lot of thai food all over! Will definitely come back for more!!❤️

Easily the best Thai in Castro Valley and Hayward. The red curry is delicious. The Thai iced tea is a desert you get to enjoy before desert. Don’t sell yourself short, order something from this place.
